Chapter 25
Tumblr media
Summary: Persistent as ever, Jean and Anna recruit Jean's mother to help with their cause. Which sparks an important conversation between Wanda and Y/n.
A/n: Helloooo! I know I'm slow with posting lately. Work has been CRAZY. Hopefully I'll get in a better rhythm soon. Especially with the hell that is coming upon us these next four years. We'll need each other to get through! Have a good day and enjoy!

You are folding laundry for you and Rachel when your phone goes off in your pocket. You pause for a moment and pull your phone out to see that it's Jean's mom calling you. It's not unusual for her to call but it's not as common as it used to be.
“Hey Mrs. Grey, how's it going?” You say cheerfully.
Mrs. Grey makes a disapproving sound. “Y/n I've told you many times since the divorce, you can still call me mom.”
You laugh at her slight upset over the misuse of her formal name. “How are you doing, Mom?” You ask as you lean your head to the side to hold your phone between your head and shoulder.
“That's better,” she cheers. You hear some rustling around on her end. “I am doing well. I just came back to town to check on the house. The last tenants just moved out and I came to assess damages before I hire the cleaning crew and repair guy.”
“Oh, do you need a lot of repairs done? You know that I'm always happy to help,” you offer while you resume folding.
“No, no, dear. I couldn't ask you to do that for us,” she says and now you're more confused.
“Oh, I just figured that's why you're calling,” you say as you set the newly folded shirt on a stack of others.
“No dear, I was calling to ask you to lunch. Are you busy this afternoon?” She says happily. You look at your watch and consider your options. You're not certain you want to be spending time alone with your former mother-in-law. But there are worse ways to spend an afternoon.
“I would love to meet with you. Where did you make reservations?” You ask, knowing that she most likely already made reservations. She laughs and mentions that you know her too well. “I will see you at one,” you promise and say your goodbyes. While you finish folding and start getting ready you run through the scenarios of how the lunch is going to go.
As you arrive at the restaurant, your stomach begins to turn. It's a nice place. The last time you went to a nice place with one of Jean's parents, it was with her father asking you to convince Jean to not go through with the divorce. Since then you haven't been asked to dinner or lunch with either of them.
Mrs. Grey greets you with a hug as you arrive at the table. She gives you a kiss on each cheek and she squeezes your arms as she looks at you. “You look great, I love what you've done with your hair. It's nice to see it cleaned up and natural like that.”
You smile at the compliment. She has seen you with many different hairstyles over the years. She has almost never had anything nice to say about your hair until now. Your hair was growing out uneven because of the mullet so you had to cut it short in order for it to grow out properly. “Yeah, well, it wasn't working for me for a bit there. You look wonderful! How are things with you and Mr. Grey? I hear the two of you have been doing a lot of traveling.”
Mrs. Grey nods and moves to sit, “We've been good. All of our kids are so spread out, it's nice to have a reason to go somewhere. Meet all of our new grandbabies. I just love being a grandma now,” she grins as she lays out the cloth napkin on her lap. You follow as you look around the restaurant, feeling a bit out of place. It was a very nice restaurant.
“Oh yeah, I had heard that Roger finally had a kid,” you say as you lift up the menu to look at the pricing.
“Yeah, yeah, he's doing great, very happy to be a father,” she says as she goes through the menu herself. “Don't be shy now, order what you want. It's my treat!” She reminds you in a cherry tone. Something tells you that things might eventually take a turn for the worst and you do not want to leave her with a big bill. You want to be able to leave money to cover your portion of the bill.
“I appreciate that, Mom,” it feels a little foreign to call her that after all of these years. But if it makes her happy, then that's what you'll do to appease her.
You proceed to order what you can afford. You ask her about how your former in-laws are. She mentions that they miss having you officially part of the family. That none of them get along with Anna which makes you laugh since none of them actually have to deal with Jean's wife the way that you do.
You update her on your life, leaving out that you're seeing someone. Especially when she presses for the information. You don't let up because it's not the time to. Besides, you're almost certain if you tell her anything she will tell Jean then she and her wife will be on your case about it. Then Jean will recruit Kate and the information will continue to spread like rapid fire.
When you're able to drop the subject of your love-life you talk about how proud you are of your daughter. How great she's doing in school. The friends that she has made. How kind she is. How strong she is becoming.
Elaine watches you go on and on about her first granddaughter. She is impressed by the way you and her daughter have really stepped up and took on your roles as parents for her grandchild. She knows that she was harsh when the news first came out. But it's clear that neither of you hold her poor reactions against her.
Finally, once you've both finished your meals, you ask her what is really going on. Elaine dabs her lips with her cloth napkin. She sips her wine. She clears her throat and she looks up at you.
“My daughter wants to expand her family,” she states in a professional tone. She is a very good negotiator. Her entire adult life and career has been about getting her way. But you aren't nervous, not about this. “And I'm asking you to reconsider helping her do that.”
You nod your head with a growing smirk as you wipe your mouth with your napkin. “She recruited you,” you state with amusement dancing in your eyes.
“She is my daughter, I would do anything for her. You should know something about that,” she states with her cold stare.
“Yes, well, my answer is still the same. She can find someone else to grow her family with. It's not going to be me,” you state as firmly as she was speaking to you.
Elaine sets her checkbook on the table and you know exactly where this is heading. She tried this with you many times before. Had you accepted any of them, Rachel wouldn't have been born, she wouldn't have you in her life, and the divorce would have been an annulment shortly after you had gotten married.
“Stop, you know that you can't buy me off Mrs. Grey. I won't do it,” you stand firm. You pull out your wallet and leave whatever cash you have on hand but she stops you.
“What if I can guarantee you have custody?” She says and you scoff. She was not about to start negotiations. “Jean says she won't budge on it but I think I can convince my daughter what a great influence you are as a parent. Certainly better than that so-called wife of hers,” she rolls her eyes.
You almost want to laugh at the irony of this conversation. “I can't believe you, the woman who tried to pay me to convince her daughter to have an abortion, is now asking me to get her daughter pregnant.”
“Times have changed. She's not getting any younger and she cannot afford to pay for treatment to-”
“Why don't you pay for it for her then?” You interrupt her. She clamps her mouth shut. Astonished by your abrupt question. You don't typically stand up for yourself in such a way. You are known to walk away to think or remain quiet. But speaking up to her like this, it's unusual. “If I decide to have another child, it will not be with your daughter. I will not have her and everyone else she mentions this to bully me into changing my mind.” You sigh as the upset quickly leaves your body. “Thank you for the meal, I would love for us to stay in touch and meet again under different circumstances. Better circumstances.”
You walk out of that restaurant and breathe in the fresh air to calm yourself down. You want to call Jean to tell her off but you don't. Instead, you call Wanda and ask if she is available. It had been a couple of weeks since her son's birthday where she admitted that she was having conflicting feelings about you and her. You gave her space the last couple of weeks to see if she would reach out on her own. But you needed her now.
Luckily, she hears the upset tone in your voice and asks you to come over without question. Next thing you know, you're parking your truck in her garage. You walk into her house and she greets you in the laundry room with a hug.
She takes your hand and leads you to her room. “My mom is having a book club meeting,” she says softly as the two of you quietly climb the stairs. You look over your shoulder to see her mom surrounded by a group of women her age engrossed in a conversation discussing presumably the book that's in their hands.
You sit on the edge of Wanda’s bed and look at your hands. You let out a big breath. You have missed being in her presence the last couple of weeks and part of you hates that this is the way that you return to her presence.
Wanda stands by the door, she has her fingers laced together as she observes you. She has missed having you around. She knows that she is the one who asked for space but she didn't consider that you would actually respect that request. No matter how good this time apart has been for her. It gave her time to reflect and realize that the only red flags you have are the red flags she has. Nothing extreme, nothing she can't handle. She has been meaning to call you and invite you over but she couldn't explain why she needed the space so she waited until she could. She expected the next time she'd see you, you would have that award winning smile of yours. She didn't expect to see you this way. This upset.
“What happened, Y/n?” She finally asks. You look up at her and blink a couple of times.
“I…” you sigh and lick your lips. “Jean got her mom to ask me to help her have another baby.” You rip the bandaid off not seeing any other way to approach the subject. Wanda gasps as she sits next to you.
“I thought they moved on from that,” Wanda says as she puts her hand on your back.
You nod, “So did I, but they completely blind sided me. Her mom was willing to pay me off.”
Wanda shakes her head. “Unbelievable. I cannot believe her. I cannot believe she would do that! After everything that happened the last time she asked you. I cannot believe she would get her mom involved in this to pay you off!”
You agree, it is insane that they would bring this up again. Let alone bring her mother into this. You cannot believe that it has come to this. You almost want to cave just so that they'd leave you alone about this. You sigh as you reach for Wanda's hand. “Should I give them a baby? I mean, not in the way they wanted but I don't know. Should I just… donate to them. Am I the one that's just being crazy and stubborn?” You ask as you think about the amount of stories you've found online where families have done this sort of thing. That a couple that cannot produce a child on their own approached their ex partner to have another baby together. And they accept with no issues. You're starting to think you were being selfish.
“Y/n, you're not being crazy. You don't want to do that. It's your choice, you have a choice in this and you chose not to do it. That is something they have to respect. The whole thing is completely unfair to you.” Wanda reminds you as she turns your head to face her by pulling your chin. “Yes, had you agreed the first time, it could have been seen as this selfless beautiful thing that you did. But I've watched you tear yourself apart about this. It would have destroyed you to agree to it. You would have regretted it the moment that she announced that she was pregnant. You would have regretted it every week you had to pick up Rachel and pretend that her sibling is not your child too. You would have hated yourself when one day that child found out the truth and felt like you abandoned them. You made the right decision not only for yourself now but for everyone in the future.”
You listen to Wanda as she speaks so strongly about your decision. Defending you against your thoughts of yourself and against the perception of everyone else against you.
She has a point. This scenario can only be a beautiful one if everyone was in agreement. But you don't want this. That was never in your mind in terms of expanding your family. The thought never occurred to you that they'd one day approach you about helping them with that especially since Anna seemed disinterested in the idea of ever caring for a baby. She would tell people the reason she wanted to adopt was because she could avoid the baby stage.
Now she wants to ask this huge thing of you because she is insecure of her role in Rachel's life? You could not believe it.
“You're right,” you say as you hold eye contact with her. You hadn't realized just how much you've missed gazing into those green eyes of hers until now. “I'm sorry to dump this on you. How are you doing? Have you figured out what you needed to?”
Wanda shakes her head as she scoots closer to you. “This is something serious. I'm glad you came to me with this instead of sitting alone in your apartment or going to Bucky and Steve whose solutions are typically to just let you vent and drink. Which is not helpful because then they just dump you onto me.” You let out a soft huff of a laugh as you nod because it's true. She caresses your cheek with the back of her fingers as she pulls her bottom lip under her teeth with her tongue. Her eyes bounce around, gazing into your eyes, glancing at your lips. “And I have, by the way. Figured out what I needed to, I mean. I've missed you and I think I'm ready to start telling people about us. Not today or tomorrow but… soon.” She says nervously. You break out into a big grin and pull her against you in a celebratory hug.
“That just made my day, truly,” you say as you continue to hold her close. Wanda starts to push against you by your shoulders to create some space. As you're about to apologize, she keeps you quiet with her lips on yours. It has felt like a lifetime since you've been able to hold her and kiss her. You're not certain when the last time was and you don't care to think about it as you lay on top of her on her bed.
“We have to be quiet,” she whispers as your lips are on her neck and her fingers are working on your jeans. “I don't want us to embarrass my mom in front of her friends.”
You chuckle at the statement. “You mean you have to be quiet,” you remind her as your hands slip under her shirt. She lets out a soft whisper and you chuckle again. “See?”
She rolls her eyes and mutters, “Shut up.”
After, you are holding Wanda in your arms as the pair of you settle down. You start to think about the future. Consider when exactly you will be ready to have another baby. It just seems like it's too late. Rachel is in middle school, she is grown up. When the kids are grown you're not supposed to have more, you're supposed to wait to have grandkids. Then you remind yourself that you are still young enough to have kids. In fact, this is how you have them the proper way. Or at least the way that stable adults have families.
There's also the fact that Wanda might not want to have more kids. She did try to expand her family but it didn't work and instead her family fell apart. You hate that she blames herself for what Vision did to their family. You clench your jaw at the thought and your arm tenses up. Wanda notices and starts to rub your arm softly.
“What's on your mind?” Wanda asks with eyes closed as she presses her head further into her pillow.
You hesitate to speak. This isn't the time to ask about the future of your family with her. This is the time to hold her and worship her. To be present with her and not spinning around in your head. You kiss her cheek as you try to calm down and return to the moment with her. She looks so relaxed and comfortable. You don't want to change that. She deserves to be relaxed for a moment.
“Nothing, it can wait until tomorrow,” you whisper as you loosen your hold on her.
“Mmm no, we can talk now. If you need,” Wanda fights her sleep as she tries to open her eyes. You shake your head with a smile.
“Go to sleep, we can talk about it tomorrow,” you repeat yourself as you caress her cheek. Wanda tries to hold onto consciousness a bit longer. It was a little early for bedtime but she was exhausted and perfectly satisfied. Every muscle in her body was asleep after the massage you had given her. As well as the many other things you did to pleasure her.
She doesn't fight you or her body anymore. She falls into a deep sleep and you follow shortly, once you're able to shut off your mind.
You wake to her alarm and you curse yourself as you remember that you didn't set your phone up to charge. This wasn't meant to happen the way it did. But you only have yourself to blame as you find your dying phone. You quickly set it up to charge while you get ready. You brush your teeth and get dressed in the clothes you wore the day before. Wanda showers and goes through her morning routine. While she does, you head down stairs to make coffee for her and yourself.
As you're pouring the coffee into the mugs, Wanda is walking down with wet hair and a casual outfit. “No meetings today?” You ask as you slide her mug towards her. She typically dresses up a bit more when she has meetings with her co-workers and/or clients and potential clients. She shakes her head as she lifts her mug to her face and sits on the stool at the counter. You nod and check your watch to gauge how much time you have before going to work.
“It's Sunday,” Wanda says as she swallows. You look at her like she's crazy until you realize that she is right. It's not Monday quite yet. You start laughing to yourself as you set your coffee down.
“I'm all messed up from yesterday,” you laugh as you gesture towards your head. “Speaking of which,” you clear your throat and look into your mug. You bite your cheek nervously as you think of the best way to approach the subject. “Have you thought about having more kids?” You ask with your eyes bouncing between Wanda and your mug.
Wanda sets her mug down and clears her throat. “I think I'm going to need this coffee to kick in before I'm ready to have that conversation.” You nod in agreement and scratch the back of your head with a nervous laugh. She was right, this was not something you talk about first thing in the morning.
So you ask her how she slept and if she was hungry. Then you make her some breakfast, as you're cooking the aroma wakes her mother so you make enough for all three of you. Then the topic of conversation becomes her mother and the book club. Apparently, the meeting was less about the book and more about gossip as you listen to stories about people you've never met and may never meet in your life.
Once everyone is done eating, you try to wash the dishes but Ms. Maximoff refuses to allow you to since you made the breakfast. She has Wanda clean them on her own while she traps you in a longer conversation about you and your future. Your girlfriend tries to spare you but her mother is very insistent. You stumble your way through some answers since some of her questions are questions you have yourself.
She starts to ease up on you and starts to go on and on about her life and gossip from around her neighborhood. The scandals of the elder community. You react as though you care that Marjorie is sleeping with Thom and Chad, which makes you realize there are elders with the name Chad, without either knowing. Or that you sympathize with the
After a while, Wanda gives you the signal that she is ready to talk. You nod and attempt to end the conversation with her mother. You fail miserably and Wanda has to come to your rescue.
“Mom, hey, I need to take Y/n from you,” she says as she pulls on you to rise from your seat.
“Oh but we're having so much fun! I haven't even gone over what David over on the corner house might be up to. Giant garbage bags, every other week. We think it's bodies or-”
“Mom,” Wanda interrupts. “I’m taking my partner back. Okay?” She pulls you closer to her and Ms. Maximoff laughs. She waves the two of you off and says that she needs to get started on her day anyway. You turn to Wanda with a shrug.
The two of you walk to her bedroom to privately discuss. Wanda shuts her bedroom door and you walk around her room. Looking at her photos as you usually do. Wanda sits on her bed with her back against the headboard. Her eyes follow your every move as she thinks about your question. She can have more kids. She talked with her gynecologist at her most recent check up just in case this conversation ever did come up. Her doctor said she had never seen such clean results from Wanda. She assured her that she would be fine to have another baby, maybe ever two of she desired.
But did Wanda want to have another baby? Her boys are so close to becoming teenagers. Your daughter is right there as well. Would it be wise for the two of you to have another baby?
“I don't know how I feel about intentionally trying for a baby at this point in my life.” Wanda starts, grabbing your attention away from the photo of her on her first day of college. “I have two pre-teenage boys who can be a handful at times and are already struggling with the younger siblings they have from their father. I don't know if I want to contribute to their insecurities by having another child,” she expressed her concerns when it comes to her boys.
You nod as you join her on the bed. You sit in front of her just next to her legs. You reach for her hand and she willingly gives you her hand. “Hey, I'm not even certain I want another kid. I was only asking because I keep saying no to Jean. I don't want you to think I'm saying no to you.”
Wanda looks at you and tilts her head. “If I'm honest, I didn't consider that. I know that the situation with Jean and what's happening between us are completely separate things. So that didn't cross my mind,” she explains that your worries aren't hers in that regard.
“Well, that's reassuring,” you chuckle softly because you feel a little ridiculous about making that assumption. “I'm open to the idea with you. But I'm fine if you don't want to go through another pregnancy.”
Wanda pulls your hand closer towards her. She looks at the palm of your hand and traces the lines with her finger tip. She thinks about the art you make with this hand. The pleasures you've brought her with this hand. The tears you've wiped from her face. The food you've made. Then she thinks about you holding her pregnant belly when the weight gets to be too much for her. She thinks about you holding her child in this hand. Butterflies flutter in her stomach at the idea.
“Let's just… if it happens, we'll talk about it then,” she says softly. “We'll go over our options at that time. But let's not make a thing of it. We don't need to start telling people about us and including that we're trying. We can just,” she shrugs as she drops your hand and places her arms around your shoulders as she leans forward. “Well we haven't even discussed marriage yet but knowing your track record, kids are what come first.” She teases and your eyes widen momentarily to show your shock and amusement of the statement.
“Of course, with most people they just get a sappy speech and a ring. With me, you get real commitment,” you add jokingly which makes the two of you laugh. You lean closer and kiss her lips. “You're right. We need to be talking about marriage and our commitment to each other before we talk about having kids. I only brought it up because of everything that's going on right now.”
Wanda smirks, “I know honey, that's why I entertained the conversation without shutting you down. It's one of the many topics of conversation we should have before going straight to the marriage of it all. You know? What if we got married and weren't on the same page about this?”
You nod as you agree, “It's exactly why I'm glad we're taking things slow. I would love to whisk you away to Vegas and elope. And I probably would have if we'd have met at a different time in our lives. But we both have a lot to consider outside of ourselves.”
Wanda's thumb moves back and forth on your neck. “You're a very wise and considerate person, Y/n. What did I ever do to deserve you?” Her eyes are locked on yours as she searches for any kind of malice or false intentions. All she finds is kindness. She cannot fathom what her life would be like had you not made yourself part of it.
“Have an ex with poor taste in liquor,” you remark on the first conversation you ever had with her. She smiles.
“I was a mess,” she states as she bites her bottom lip and drops her face shyly.
You nod in agreement. “You were, and I didn't want to seem like some creep going after vulnerable people by talking to you. By the way, my intentions were pure. That night.” You point between the two of you. “I never had this goal in mind until the night we hung out after my camping trip.”
She looks back up, a little shocked by this news. Especially since you ended up dating someone else after that night. “Really? So why go after Daisy?” She asks as she looks over your features. Taking in every detail of your face. Your jawline, your smooth skin with a chicken pox scar on your forehead. She loves every detail of you.
You shrug as you try to remember that time. It was only several months ago. Or was it a year ago by now? It feels like a lifetime ago. “Fear, insecurities, and a long list of other reasons that don't make a lot of sense but at the same time they do. I mean, we're still afraid to be together.”
Wanda nods as she listens to you explain. You're not wrong there. She was pushing you away for weeks because of how afraid she is to be in love with you. “I'm not anymore. Afraid, I mean. I love you and I only want to be with you. I hope forever but you never know.”
You chuckle at her last comment and kiss her on the lips. “Yeah, you never know.” She smiles before leaning in for another kiss. You rub the spots on her back where you have your hands placed. You continue to pull her closer and closer as the kiss continues. You love her and you can't wait to tell everyone.

karina looked up from her phone and you were already at the bar, glaring down haechan with a fiery gaze. she gulped, looking beside her to winter and she shrugged - there was nothing they could do now, you weren't going to back down.
you looked at haechan and the girl who was leeching off of him, her drunken giggles and words ringing in your ears. you scoffed and ordered a drink, "fratboys.." you mumble under your breath. haechan had obviously heard you though as he turns around and smirked, "something wrong?"
"what do you think?" he just chuckled softly in return to your cold tone of voice, he found it quite entertaining how easy it was to get under your skin. he could tell you were growing feelings for him in the times you've both shared and he couldn't lie.. he was starting to feel something for you too but his ego would never let him admit that out loud (maybe).
you just got up from the bar. if he wanted to play this little game, so could you.
you set your eyes on a cute boy, you knew he was close with haechan, mark lee. time to shoot your shot. you walk over to him, hips swaying as you walked, smiling at him. "hey, mark right?" you ask softly as the said latter turned his head to you, leaning down so his lips were hovering just near your ear, "yeah. i'm mark, you baby?"
you blush and you lean into him as well, "y/n." mark raised a brow - he recognised your name because of haechan but he wasn't going to complain if he had a chance with you tonight.
⋆。‧˚ʚ🍓ɞ˚‧。⋆
haechan had noticed both you and mark, flirting with one another and the lingering touches that get a bit too touchy. you were currently sat on marks lap, leaning into him as his hand was on your thigh, rubbing your inner thigh. even your friends could see what you were doing - trying to get under haechan's skin like he was with yours.
before things could get any further between the both of you, haechan stormed over and grabbed your hand, pulling you away from mark. he lead you outside, you were trying to ask what he was doing but he didn't respond, he was too pissed to even think right now.
as soon as the cold air hit you this time though, you winced at how cold it became, it was a lot later in the night now. haechan let go of you and turned around, "so what was that with mark, huh?"
"what are you on about? as if you didn't have a girl leeching off of you half the night.. you have no right to act like this, lee donghyuck. i know your type and i kept reminding myself to not fall for a player like you yet i did. i went to mark because i was sick of it-" "oh so you just thought that you could do that type of shit with mark? when you were saying the last time we fucked that you were mine, do i need to remind you? trying to have a fucking one night stand with mark won't make you forget about me."
you scoffed, "you're so fucking full of yourself, what do you want from me at this point because you're pushing and pulling with me. i hate you. i will never find myself in your bed ever-fucking-again."
that was a lie. here you were now, in his bed as he tore his shirt over his head, throwing it to the floor and crawling between your legs. "say you want this, say you do and i'll remind you who you belong to but if you don't want this.. i'll get away from you."
you gulped, staring into his beautiful brown doe eyes as he looked down on you. you swore you wouldn't do this but he was too irresistible and he felt amazing.. your feelings for him also pushed you to the edge and you spoke up, "i do want this, please.. want you hyuck, fuck i need you so bad."
that was all he needed to hear before he was pulling your skirt up and moving your panties down your legs, throwing them somewhere on his floor. he unbuckled his jeans and pulled them down with his boxers, his dick slapping against his stomach. "you ready, baby? don't need to prep you do i?"
"no- no, you don't just.. please.." you begged. haechan bit his lip as he shoved himself inside of you, his dick stretching your walls so deliciously once again that he thought he was going to cum straight away. he had to inch himself slowly in you, bottoming out once he was fully inside and taking a breather, "you always swallow me in, your pussy always does this. it's like i haven't fucked you enough.."
a couple minutes later and he's pounding into you roughly, gripping your hair and shoving your head into his pillows. the sound of skin slapping and soft moans and groans to be heard echoing around his bedroom.
"didn't like seeing you with mark, the way he touched you made me crazy.. you're mine and only mine, understood? i can't get enough of you.." you moaned out in response, you couldn't speak, his dick making you dumb. he noticed this and chuckled, the feeling sending another wave of pleasure throughout you as you whimper, "hyuck.."
"hm? what's that baby? did you say something or have i fucked you dumb enough already?" he pulls your hair, pressing you up against his chest as he left small marks on your neck. "don't want you with anyone else.. swore i wouldn't like you but i ended up liking you anyway, didn't i?" he panted out, and you just let out a small whine, "hyuck.. please, can't last any longer.."
"wait until i'm gonna cum baby - won't be much longer, promise.. you feel so good, feel you clenching around me. listen to me and be a good girl, yeah? like you and this pretty pussy so much." he noticed your eyes closing and he tapped your cheek with his free hand, "come on baby, pay attention." he smirked. he moved it down to your clit, rubbing harsh circles.
you couldn't hold back, you shuddered as you felt your climax releasing on his dick, he groaned and let out a small whine, his dick twitching inside of you as he released. he muttered out that he couldn't help but like you, you're perfect for him. he rode you through your high before pulling out and staring at your fucked out state.
"fuck.." he whispered as he grabbed a towel from his dresser, cleaning you up and laying you comfortably on his bed. he always took such good care of you after he was rough, giving you princess treatment.
"hyuck?" you ask softly as he looked at you, "mm-hmm?"
"do you really like me? i'm not just someone you're messing with?" "we'll talk about this tomorrow when you're tired, okay?" he responded and you just replied with a nod. he shuffled into his bed beside you, pulling you closer by your waist and pressing your body against his, "promise i'll tell you how i really feel, 'kay?"

I suddenly got a wave of inspiration and several fics are going to be done today (Hopefully at least two) , so first fic out!
Also I just realized that this past February 24th (Or 26th, Idk) was my first ever post in this place, so happy anniversary to this blog and to this piece!
Night Out Problems -P.G6
Summary: A night out in which you had a little too much to drink
Tumblr media
You giggled once again at your friend's mistakes, you two were singing at the top of your lungs in the backseat of a car
"Así no va, tonta" (That's not how it goes, silly) You giggled "It's got me looking so crazy right now, your love's got me looking so crazy right now" You corrected while laughing
"She repeats it?"
"Then how else is it?"
"Isn't there something page me?" You look at her
"What?" You said after a minute of silence before you two broke in laughter
"Y/N, we're here" Your best friend's, Melissa's boyfriend, Frank says "Are you good to go or should I call-?"
"I'm good, I'm good"
"Sure?" You opened the car door and went to get out but almost met the floor "Ok, no, I need help"
"I'm calling your boy" He said getting out of the car and estabilizing you
"Pabs?" You asked excited and he hums, you heard the singing of your friend "Loca, bajale a la voz!" (You crazy woman, lower your voice!)
"Hermano" You soon heard another male voice greeting you by the car "Gracias por traerla" (Thanks for bringing her back)
"No worries, bro. Everything's good"
"Have a good night, text when you both get home please" Frank nods
"Have a good night guys and Y/N" He called you as you look at Frank "I'm glad you're getting your degree"
"Oh shush as if you sing any better" Both guys laughed as you watched how Frank got in the car and drove off
"Venga, c'mon Amor. Let's go inside"
"I'm not your amor, muchacho. I'm waiting for my boyfriend to come here"
"Oh yeah?" You hum nodding "Where's he?"
"Inside that" You point out your house "house"
"Bueno but let's go closer so we are not standing in the middle of the road"
"Only because I don't want to get run over by a car, my boyfriend wouldn't like that"
"I bet he wouldn't" He said shaking his head "Don't you perhaps have a key to enter?"
"You might be so good looking but I'm not entering with you here, I'll wait for my boy" The guy smiled
"Venga bebé, let's go inside, it's 3am" He tried touching you but you pushed his hands away
"No" You say "I'm going to call my boyfriend if you keep that up"
"Call him then"
"I will" You pulled your phone out only to see the call didn't go through "I don't have signal?" You look at the guy who has a smirk on his face and one of his eyebrows up "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Nothing. Don't mind me" He crossed his arms around his chest letting you see his muscles.
But you didn't let that fool you, you had a boyfriend and you wanted your boyfriend now.
So, you narrowed your eyes looking at him
"Why are you looking at me now?"
"You know, for very weird reasons you look exactly like my boyfriend"
"Do I?" You nod
"But he doesn't have a brother. Or that's what I know. So, you are not him"
"Why I'm not him?"
"Because he has beard and you are clean shaved"
"That's because I shaved in the afternoon"
"Yeah, he knows that's my thing to do"
"Alright, amor. I'm truly tired and I have recovery session at 10am today. What do you need for me to prove I'm your boyfriend?"
"Nothing because you're not! My boyfriend is Pablo Páez, a football player mostly known by Gavi, you're not him and once he finds out you're hitting on me, he'll be so pissed at you" The guy's smirk keep growing each time "And stop making fun of me"
"You said you wanted to call your boyfriend?" You nod "Try again this time without the airplane mode on" You look at your phone to see the airplane on top of your settings
"Oh!" You looked up at him "I'll call him now" You took a few steps off the stairs and almost fell making the guy come to you "No! I'm good, I'm good. Don't need to touch what's not yours" You said and dialed your boyfriend
A few rings went by only to hear his phone ring behind you, you turn around seeing the guy with the phone in his ear
"Go ahead" He smiled widely "¿Qué querías decirme, preciosa?" (What did you wanted to tell me, pretty girl?)
"You are my boyfriend!" You smiled widely "My lord, I have such a good taste in men. You're the prettiest boy I've ever seen" You giggled coming up the stairs once again to wrap your arms around him
"You said not to touch what's not mine?"
"But you're my boyfriend, I'm yours and you're minee" You dragged the 'e' out "That's why you looked exactly like my boyfriend, because you are!" You laughed squishing his cheeks
"Yes, I am" He said in between your hands
"So prettyyyy" You said "Why don't you open the door? I wanna lay on top of you, cuddle and kiss you so bad. God, you look so comfy, how is that even possible?" Pablo laughs at you buried depp into his chest, your voice coming out muffled
"Thank god, I'm recording this, you wouldn't believe it"
"Are you recording?" He hums as you grab his hand pulling it up to your mouth "Whatup girl?-
"You need to marry this man like as soon as possible, he's the love of your life and he's so perfect, you wouldn't believe it"
You groan hearing your voice as you grab a bite of the sandwich your boyfriend made for you "Please, stop that, even thought I mean it, I was drunk as hell"
"There's no need to be embarrassed about it, amor" Pablo laughed wrapping his strong arms around you and kissing your neck, the recording still playing "You are the love of my life as well, you're the perfect girl for me and I do plan on getting down on my knee and propose, just waiting for the right time"
"I would say yes anytime"
"That's good to know" He smiled "Can I pull this audio in our wedding?"
"Definitely not"
"Oh, c'mon! Why not?"

It was painfully quiet as we walked. I desperately wanted to ask if Ellie was okay, but I knew she wasn't. I also didn't want to force her to talk. So, I let her be for now. Hopefully she'd come to me when she was ready to talk about it.
I looked up into the sky to see where the sun was. Since I didn't have a watch, it was my best guide to what time it was. Right now, it was right overhead, noonish if not past it. We had been walking for a long time, and no one had eaten before we began. I knew, even if no one wanted to, we'd have to eat something soon just to have the energy to keep going.
"He-Hey, maybe we should stop for a bit, eat a little something. Keep our energy up until we stop for the night?" I suggested.
It honestly sounded like I was shouting because of how quiet it had been.
"That's probably a good idea." Joel said.
"Not hungry." Ellie said, turning around to look at us.
"You need to eat something." Joel said.
"Yeah, just a little bit. Okay?" I said gently.
She sighed but nodded.
We found a shaded spot and sat down. I took the opportunity to loosen my bootstraps as Joel got the food out. It was running low, and I knew it, especially when Joel barely took any for himself. He probably thought I didn't notice, but I did.
"Take your own advice. You need to eat too, Joel." I said.
"I'll be okay." He said.
"No... I hate to be that person, but even if we ration what we have left, we will be out of food within what three days at best. What are we going to do when we run out?" I asked seriously.
"Hunt." Joel said simply, "There will be rabbits and squirrels along the way. Easy enough to shoot, not too hard to skin. We'll survive."
I only nodded. The idea of eating a squirrel definitely made my stomach do a flip, I could handle rabbit easily, but a squirrel would be pushing it. Although I knew I wouldn't have an option when it came down to it.
"How clean do you think creeks are 'round here?" I asked.
"Decently. Hasn't been human activity for a good while to pollute them. They'll be clean enough to rinse the grime off, for sure. Those spare clothes still in your bag?" Joel asked and I nodded.
"Won't be clean clean, but at least the ones we're wearing can be cleaner. But it will eventually get too cold to do that. But hopefully we'll make it Wyoming before that." Joel said.
I nodded.
"I don't know about y'all, but I suggest we find one of those creeks before we stop for the night. I'd like a chance to get the dirt and sweat off me." I said.
"I agree." Ellie finally chimed in.
“Alright. I’ll scout one out where we can stop for the night as well. But we’ll have to take shifts. No one wants to be caught by others out here alone and… you know…” Joel trailed off.
“Okay, well, if Ellie is comfortable with it, I can keep an eye out while she rinses off, and you can set up our camp for the night. Then she and I can switch, or you can come keep a look out for me, and then I can watch for you.” I suggested.
I figured it would be best for me to be on the lookout for both of them, which would make things a hell of a lot less awkward for everyone.
“I’m fine with that. Just as long as you two promise not to have sex while you two are being lookouts for one another.” Ellie said.
I rolled my eyes in amusement as Joel shook his head.
We finished up our food before getting ready to leave. I was grateful that this time, the walk wasn’t silent.
“Since we’re gonna have to hunt from now on, will you show me how to use the rifle?” Ellie asked.
“I’ll think about it. Why don’t we start with trappin’ first? It’ll help us conserve our ammo.” Joel said.
I honestly hadn’t thought about that. All of our resources were severely limited now. Food, water, ammo, shelter. Everything was going to be in short supply. And winter was fast approaching.
“Should we try to set a goal for each day on how far we want to get? No offense, but I don’t want to still be walking nine months pregnant.” I joked, though I was serious.
“I was planning on taking it day by day. None of us were preparing for this, so we won’t be able to go nonstop for days on end. Figured we could try traveling for a day or two, then rest and continue on like that. It’ll hopefully keep us from getting burnt out.” Joel explained.
“Not a bad idea.” I agreed.
Eventually, the sun was beginning to set, so Joel took us deeper into some woods and found where the creek was. I was actually surprised at how clean it looked. After ensuring that the surrounding area was, in fact, clear of any people or Infected, Joel informed us that he’d go off a good ways to set up our camp for the night while we took our turns using the creek to rinse off.
I let Ellie go first. I found her clothes in my bag and laid them on a rock for her for when she was finished. I let her take her time and didn’t rush her. I kept my eyes on the treeline, watching for any movement.
“Want me to get an area set up to hang our old clothes to dry at camp?” She asked, walking up wearing the new clothes.
We had also decided that rinsing our old clothes would be the best thing since we only had a few outfits each. They obviously wouldn’t be actually clean, but it would be better than just putting dirty clothes back on.
“Yeah, that’s a good idea. Do you want to wait until I rinse off, or do you want Joel to come keep watch for me?” I aksed.
“Can Joel? I just need some time alone with my thoughts…” She said, rubbing the back of her neck and not making eye contact.
“Of course. And Ellie,” She finally looked up at me, “If you want to talk about anything, and I seriously mean anything, I am here, okay? I can’t promise I can fix whatever is happening but I can definitely listen.” I said sincerely.
“Thank you.” she said quietly and nodded before walking us to where Joel was.
“You two done already?” He asked as we walked back.
“No, she’s going to switch with you now so I can rinse off, then you can.” I said, giving him a look not to question it.
“Okay. Well, let’s go then.” He said, dusting off his hands as he stood up from where he had been hunched over, laying out rocks to make a small fire. I noticed a dead rabbit next to him, meaning he miraculously managed to get us something decent to eat later..
“Everything okay?” He asked once we were a good distance away.
“Yeah, she just wanted some time alone to think, and so I let her.” I explained, and Joel nodded.
“You want to go first?” He asked once we got back to the creek.
“Yes, please.” I said, making him sigh through his nose in amusement.
Joel found himself a spot to sit against a tree while I dug out my clothes and laid them down before stripping out of the ones I had been wearing. As I took my bra off, I let out a sigh of relief.
“You know, that’s the one thing I didn’t think to grab an extra of…” I said with a sigh.
“I give it another month or so before that one doesn’t fit anymore.” Joel said from where he sat.
“Eyes on the trees, bud, not on me.” I teased before walking down to the water.
I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t freezing. It actually felt amazing. The water wasn’t moving fast at all, so I was able to walk out to the middle of the creek, where the water came up to about halfway up my breast. I began using my nails to scrub some of the dirt off my body when I heard a twig snap over by Joel. When I turned to look I was surprised to see him standing up, taking off his boots.
Silently, I watched as he undid his shirt and took his jeans off. He set his old clothes on the bank by mine so they’d be closer for when it was time to rinse them. When he caught me staring, I raised a questioning eyebrow at him to which he just smirked as he waded into the water.
“What?”
“Joel, you're supposed to be keeping watch.” I said, shaking my head, though it was no secret that I wasn’t actually upset by any means.
“It'll be fine. Come're.” He said, grabbing my arm to gently pull me to him.
A small laugh escaped my lips as I pulled up against him.
“Hi.” I smiled up at him as he continued to hold me to him.
“Hi.” He was smiling, too, at this point, a real, genuine smile that I hadn’t seen in a while.
“So what, now, if someone sneaks up on us, we’ll both be caught off guard and naked?” I joked.
“I don’t know. I think those would be more than enough to distract anyone.” He said, looking down at my breast.
I playfully shoved him away.
“I am supposed to be getting the grime off of me. I suggest you do the same.” I said, turning my back to him.
He didn’t stay away from me for long. Without warning, he was grabbing my arm again to turn me to him, but this time, I was met by his lips on mine. A small gasp escaped my lips before I melted into it. My hands found their way up around his neck as his traveled down to my lower back. It was as if we couldn’t get close enough to each other.
As we continued to makeout, his hands slipped lower, passed my ass, and down to the back of my thighs. He pulled one up to his hip, and I knew what he was trying to do. So, I used my other foot that was still down to gently push off the bottom of the creek enough for me to jump and wrap both of my legs around his waist. His kisses traveled away from my lips and down to my neck, which I gladly gave him access to.
“Shit, Joel, please just fuck me.” I said as he worked on leaving a mark on my collarbone.
“Way ahead of you, sweet girl.” He said before thrusting up into me.
I had to actually bite down on my lower lip to keep from moaning out loud. Joel gave me a second to adjust to the feeling of him inside of me. But once he felt my body relax against him, he didn’t hold back. I buried my face into the junction of his neck and shoulder as he thrust up into me relentlessly. I could hear him cursing and saying my name in a breathy voice. I hadn’t even noticed one of his hands gripped my left thigh a little tighter as his other one came down between our bodies and found its way to my clit.
Admittedly, I am a little ashamed of how sensitive it was. It had been a while since me and him had had sex, and I definitely hadn’t had time to myself recently. However, it seemed like to him no time had passed at all because he knew just how to make me come undone.
“Fuck, Joel, m’close.” I said.
“Me too…” “Inside.” Was all I was able to request as my walls tightened around his cock.
He wasn’t far behind me either as I felt him release. He continued to hold me, not pulling out just yet as we both caught our breaths. Even after he slipped out of me and lowered me down to stand in the water, he continued to hold me against him. I looked up at him to find him already looking down at me.
“I love you, you know that, right?” He asked, just barely above a whisper.
“I know. I love you too, Joel.” I whispered back before leaning up to kiss him softly.
After a few more minutes of just holding onto one another, we eventually knew we’d have to rinse our old clothes and get dressed in the fresh ones. I decided to just leave my bra off for the night to give myself a break. We gathered up everything and began walking back to camp, hand in hand. Once again, we both had smiles on our faces.
When we got back, I hung both of our wet clothes on the branch Ellie had set up as our makeshift drying rack. Joel went over to start skinning and preparing the rabbit to be cooked. As I was hanging the last of the clothes, Ellie came up to me.
“You two disgust me.” She said.
I knew there was no way she heard us, so how’d she know?
“What are you talking about?” I asked, playing dumb.
“Look, I may not understand men, but I am pretty sure there’s only one thing that can get a man as grumpy as him to get him sliming like that.” She said, nodding over to where Joel was sitting, working with a smile still on his face.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about, Ellie. Now, help me with the water canteens.” I said, walking over to grab them.
Ellie caught my wrist, making me stop short.
“What’s that? Hm?” She questioned, pointing to where the collar of the flannel I put on didn’t quite cover the mark Joel had left there.
I could feel my cheeks heating up, “Damnit, Joel!” I said, loud enough for him to hear and look up.
“Y’all are nasty.” Ellie said in disgust, but I could tell she was trying not to laugh along with us.
“You’ll understand when you’re older.” I teased.
She shook her head, “Like hell I will.” She shot back, “Let’s just go fill up the water.”
We both grabbed the canteens and walked back down to the creek.
“Wait… I don’t want to drink from the sex creek. That’s gross.” She said, scrunching up her nose at the thought of it.
“Don’t worry, the water is constantly moving. Besides, we were downstream.” I teased know that she definitely didn’t want to know the details.
“I mean, if it puts him in a better mood for a while… just keep it far, far, away from me.” She teased back.
We finished getting the water and headed back to where Joel had finished skinning the rabbit and was getting ready to cook it. I was pleasantly surprised at the taste. It was definitely far better than the shit we used to get given in the QZ.
“I say tomorrow let's turn more North, get up into Nebraska, then start West again.” Joel said, causing Ellie and I to nod.
I let out a yawn.
“I don’t know about you two, but I am beat.” I said, stretching slightly.
“I bet you are.” Ellie teased, causing me to roll my eyes.
“Whatever.” I shook my head and stood up, “I can take a watch shift later if one of you wants to take one now.”
“I’m not too tired yet, so I am going to stay up for a bit.” Ellie said, and I only nodded at her decision.
“Me too. Go get some rest.” Joel said.
I bid them both a goodnight before walking off to find somewhere half-decent to sleep.
Ellie’s PoV
Once I was sure Yn was out of earshot, I turned to Joel.
“I want to talk about what happens after we find your brother in Wyoming.” I said seriously.
sorry this one was a bit shorter... also this is your warning that I am devating from the events in the show...

It was that infamous time of the year.  Not only was Hogwarts the host for the Triwizard tournament, but it was also the time for the Yule Ball.  That time when the boys get all awkward around the girls as they try to work up the nerve to ask a girl to go with them to the dance.  Or they become too egotistical and think charm and silver-tongue words will make us swoon.
It's also when the girls start going frantic about what dress they’re going to be wearing and hope they don’t buy the same dress as their friends or anyone else for that manner.  Meetings in dorm rooms about helping each other’s hair and makeup style.  You really can’t avoid the Yule Ball, no matter how hard you try.
I personally don’t have any grudges or hate against the ball itself.  I mean what girl doesn’t want to get dressed up and feel like a Princess in a fairytale? It’s just the pressure behind it all that I can’t get behind.
“Afternoon milady.” I turned and saw George leaning up against the corner pillar.
“Ahh I see that you’re back to your original self now. Or did you just dye your hair ginger to feel young again?”
“I take it you heard?”
“You’re lucky none of the Professors have heard of it yet. I warned you and Fred that aging potions are tricky if you don’t get….”
“The exact measurements right blah, blah, blah, blah we got it now.” I punched his arm.
“Watch it Weasley or I’ll slip that aging potion of yours into your morning drink. But this time I’ll make sure the effects last for a month.” That got him to shut his mouth.
“Anyways.” He cleared his throat.  “Besides our failed attempt to get into the Triwizard tournament, how was your dance lesson? I’m told Ravenclaws had the Room of Requirement today to discuss the ball.”
“It went just as well as I’m sure yours did. Except Professor Flitwick had two students come together and they just ended up falling flat on their faces. Note to self I’m not accepting Gale Turner’s invitation to the ball anytime soon. Bless him he may be Irish but he’s got two left feet.”
“Well I’ll have you know that during our dance lesson, Dear old Ronald had to get his lessons from Professor McGonagall herself. Had him touch her waist and everything.”
“Have some faith in your Professor. She was once a young woman once, and I’ll bet she was probably fairly pretty.”
“Oh no doubt. There’s actually an old portrait of her in our Common room.”
“Okay now don’t you start getting the weird fantasies there Georgie.”
“Great now my mind is forever stained with your accusations. I’d never do a thing like that!”
“Yeah sure whatever.” I let out a squeal as I was suddenly picked up and thrown over his shoulder.  He spun us around and I exclaimed as I slammed my fists against his back, “GEORGE PUT ME DOWN YOU BIG OAF!!”
“Big Oaf, them is fighting words there Black.” He playfully tried to drop me but I let out a shriek as I clung onto him.
“George!” he chuckled before finally setting me down but he kept his hold around my waist and I (strangely) kept my arms at the side of his neck.  You know I never really noticed this before but—George’s eyes really do seem to shine more in the light than Fred’s do.  It’s like they go from dark brown to an almost chocolate-hazel color.
And—have his shoulders always been this broad before? Guess being a Beater in Quidditch has it’s advantages. And his lips they were—DEAR MERLIN WHAT AM I SAYING!? Pull up pull up pull up now Seeker!
“I uhh….I better get my things for Potions class. Can’t afford another detention with Snape.” I cleared my throat as I backed away from George and gathered my things.  He knelt down and helped me and as we both reached for my journal and out fingers grazed each other’s, a sudden spark came over me.
A spark that had never happened before every time we’d hold hands.  We looked at each other wide-eyed before I collected my journal and bid George a goodbye before racing down the hallway.
What the bloody hell was that?
The next few days were all about girls being asked out to the Yule Ball and seeing the never-ending failed attempts for both Harry and Ron to get dates.  Those poor boys, they’re just thinking too hard.  I was heading towards my dorm room when I took notice of my roommate Luna Lovegood going through her trunk but once again she had no shoes on.
“The Nargals again Luna?” she slowly peeked over her shoulder and slowly sat up.
“Fraid so. This time all of my shoes have gone missing.” She answered in that wispy, dazed tone of hers.  It really was unfair that the school has deemed her ‘Looney Lovegood’, she just has her own way of seeing the world and shouldn’t be marred for it.  I even hear Hermione sometimes refer to her as such which is shocking coming from her.
“Isn’t there like a trap you could set out or something to catch them. I’d like to have a word with those pesky creatures for forcing you to go barefoot all the time.”
“It’s alright. I’m used to it.” I went over to my bed and immediately collapsed into it as I let out a heavy sigh.  “Something’s troubling you, you’re not as—vibrant as your aura usually is.”
“I don’t know, it’s so strange.” She suddenly appeared over me.
“Strange is an abstract word defined by many perspectives and intervals. You’re just as sane as I am.”
“I appreciate that thank you Luna.”
“My pleasure.” She gave me a soft smile before skipping off out of the dorm room to search for her missing shoes.  She really was a sweet girl, people should just look past her ‘looney-ness’ and really get to know her.  She does view the world in a way I never thought of before.  Kinda reminds me of that one muggle book umm…..Alice in Wonderland, yeah that’s it.
Later that day I was in the Great Hall during Free Period trying to get caught up on some homework when I noticed something from my peripheral vision.  I looked up and saw a paper-crane flying around my head before gracefully landing right in front of me.  I looked around before opening it up and there written was:
Meet me by the Fountain after free period.
R.W
Ron? What could he want from me? I looked up towards the Gryffindor table and saw him giving me a pleading look.  Bless him he truly was like a little brother to me so I gave him a nod and went back to my work.
Once Free Period was over, I went out to the fountain in the courtyard and waited.  And waited, and waited until finally Ron came out with a package of some kind.  He came over to me and I said to him.
“Next time Ron, don’t keep a girl waiting. It’s been 40min and you’re lucky I didn’t have any other classes today.”
“I know, I know I’m sorry. But I had to work up the courage to ask you something.” Oh no Ron don’t tell me you’re going to…..
“Okay….” I spoke hesitantly.
“I’m told you dabble in a bit of needle work and stitching.” Oh, oh thank Merlin! I was afraid I’d have to reject his offer to the Ball.
“I may dabble a bit of it yeah. Why do you ask?”
“I—don’t know if Fred or George told you, and I bloody hope none of them did, or worse Ginny. Can you do anything to fix this and make it appropriate?” he handed me the package and I set it in my lap.  I opened the lid and was greeted with a—well it was definitely a sight.
“Wow.” I breathed.
“Please tell me you can do something with this and make it more modern? Mum can’t possible think this is still the 14th century!”
“Ron…..I can mix potions to the proper brew, be the fastest on a broom and even transform into a puma at will. But I can’t work miracles.” I held his dress robes up but he quickly forced me to put it back into the box.
“Bloody hell!” he squeaked.
“I’m sorry Ron. Maybe it—won’t be so bad.”
“So bad? Look at you at least you could wear the ugliest dress and still make it work on you. I’ll be marred as a fairy till I graduate if people see me wearing this at the Ball. I’m doomed.” He then walked away leaving me at the fountain.
“Poor boy.” I shook my head shamefully.
“Ahh he’ll bounce back.” I jumped and there sat George.
“Bloody hell George! How many times have I told you not to sneak up on me like that!?”
“Ever since we were 11 our first week of classes. So did you have to reject our poor little brother to the ball?”
“No he asked me if there was any chance of mending his dress robes so that they’d be more ‘presentable’. According to him.” George laughed and I elbowed him in his ribs.  “Don’t laugh at him.”
“I’m his older brother, it’s my job.”
“Well your job is cruel and demeaning.”
“It’s all in good fun (n/n).” he poked my cheek but I swatted his hand away.  “Speaking of the Ball, whose the lucky man to have swept you away?”
“Ha-ha you’re hilarious George.” I said standing up and walking away.  He quickly caught up to me and said.
“This isn’t a joke, surely someone has asked you already. If not then you’ve got a line of guys waiting for you.” He stood in front of me.  Every time I’d move around him, he’d block me from leaving.
“You’re delusional did you know that? I mean really, a line of men waiting to ask me are you serious?”
“So just a few then?”
“George no one has asked me to the Ball.”
“Now you’re the one whose delusional.”
“No I’m not. Think about this for a second George Weasley. It’s been over a year since my father’s escape from Azkaban. No one knows where he’s at, and the ‘truth’ that was revealed is still kept in the dark. He’s not a ‘innocent man’ yet. So who in their right minds would ask the daughter of a mass murderer to the Yule Ball?” he finally allowed me to step around him.
“So what you’re just going to be alone?” I stopped in my tracks.
“Apparently so.” Before I could walk again, I bumped into George’s chest and looked up at him.
“No, no, no, no, no, no. That’s not going to happen.”
“What are you saying George?”
“I’m saying if you’ll go to the Ball with me?”
“If this is a pity date, don’t waste…..”
“It’s not pity. I solemnly swear!” he crossed his heart and holding up his other hand.  The twins only ever did that to me when they showed their genuine vow to not play and tricks or lies.  “The ball is on Christmas Eve and call it ‘family tradition’ or whatever but mum always said that no one should be alone on Christmas.”
Merlin’s beard.  My heart was pounding harder in my chest than it ever has before (even more than my first Quidditch match).  The look in his eyes showed his genuine pledge and I knew he wasn’t going to let this go.
“Ask me again if this is real, George Weasley.” He gave me a gentleman’s bow before looking up at me and said.
“(Y/n) Celeste Black, will you go to the Yule Ball with me?” my face started to flush as my pulse was rushing.
“Yes.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“Yeah?”
“Yes is there an echo in here?” once again I was picked up into his arms and spun around the two of us laughing joyously.  After a few spins he finally set me down but like a few days ago he kept his hands at my waist.
“I uhh—guess I’ll see you at the Ball then.”
“Yeah, yeah guess I will. Or you will.” I giggled softly at his pronoun mistake.  As I left down the hall, that tingly spark returned and I couldn’t help but miss the feeling of his arms around me.
Days went by and I had joined up with Hermione and the two of us were currently out in Hogsmeade picking out our dresses for the ball.  As I was going through the racks searching for the perfect dress Hermione said.
“I’m told that George asked you to the Yule Ball.”
“Yes, yes he did. Although I think we’re going just as friends. Just because you see a boy and a girl at a dance together, doesn’t mean they can’t go as friends.” Why did it sting to word it like that?
“Huh.”
“Huh? What do you mean huh?”
“Oh nothing. It’s just if I were to ever see you hooking up with anyone, it would be George.”
“What exactly are you getting on Granger?” I asked going over to her changing room door.
“You know exactly what I’m speaking of Black, why are you denying it? You know full well that most of the boys from Durmstrang had asked you to the Yule Ball and you’ve rejected every single one of them. Even Viktor’s right hand asked you out and you rejected his offer. But when George asks you, you say yes.”
“You’re full of it Granger.” I flung over another dress option for her.
“Am I?” she challenged.
“Are you done in there or not?” I asked impatiently as I stepped away from her door and she soon opened up and there she stood in her pink dress.  “Wow. Forget the dress I flung at you, this—this is the one.”
“You’re sure?”
“Absolutely, come here.” I dragged her over to the mirror and stood behind her.  “Have your hair done up just right, give it some gentle curls, maybe a beautiful necklace.” She quirked her brow at me. “Your right no necklace. And people won’t keep their eyes off of you. Mainly Viktor.”
“It’s just a dance. I have no romantic feelings for Viktor, not like you and George.” I pinched her arm making her exclaim and walked off.
“We’re just friends Mione, have been for the past five years now.”
“Denial is the first step into accepting ones true feelings.” Hermione sung out before heading back into the changing room to get out of the dress and back into her normal clothes.
No. No I-I couldn’t be…..or could I? Lately things have felt a little—tense between George and I.  Everytime he now wraps his arms around me, there’s this spark of electricity that hadn’t been there before.  My pulse also seems to grow a little fast and my face seems to flush more when it’s just him compared to when Fred and I are alone.
I soon found my chosen dress and went inside the other changing room and tried it on for size.  Once I got into it, I admired myself in the mirror and was amazed by how much the dress hugged my curves but also the way the actual design and color of it made it seem like the entire cosmos was detailed in this dress.
“Now that is a dress no one will tear their eyes away from.” Hermione said as she came back out with her dress tucked under her arm.
“You really think so?”
“Trust me, people do say you’re almost like a star in human form.” I rolled my eyes at the comment.
“I think you mean just because I love Astronomy so much, people believe I should be a star.”
“Which would be a terrible idea cause you’ve got a more twisted ego than both the Weasley twins combined.”
“Hey I resent that comment!”
“Remind me again whose idea it was to fill the Slytherin common room with glitter bombs?” I snickered remembering that prank back in my fourth year.
“You gotta admit, Malfoy was still finding glitter in that blonde head of his for two months.”
“As amusing as it was, it was still your twisted idea.”
“C’mon, let’s get these dresses bought before the next flood of girls comes crashing in.” I went back into my dressing room and changed back into my normal clothes then the two of us headed over to the cashier and paid for our dresses.
Finally the big night had arrived.  I allowed Hermione into the Ravenclaw dressing room so that the two of us could get ready together.  I helped her out with her hair and makeup and she placed on her dress while I was getting the last few touches of my makeup done.
That’s when my owl Athena came into my room squawking.  I turned over to her and was surprised to see a box at her side.
“And what’s this Athena?” I walked over to her and untied the package from her talons and she adjusted her position before ruffling her feathers.
“What is it?” asked Hermione.  I picked up the box and saw the letter tied underneath the black ribbon.  It had my name written on it so I had opened it up and I recognized the writing format.
“It’s from my dad.” Hermione looked at me surprised and she asked.
“What did he say?”
“‘My Dearest (Y/n)’,” I read his letter aloud.  “‘I know it’s that time of year again, with the Triwizard tournament I know that the time for the Yule Ball has come once again. I wish I could’ve been there in person to see just how beautiful you look right now, but the best I can do is give you these. Your mother once had these given to her at our first Yule Ball together, a gift she said that was tradition in her family for the father to bequeath his daughter. I hope with these you shine like the star I know you are. Have fun tonight but not too much fun, trust me I know how boys are at this age. Love dad.’” We both chuckled softly.
“He really does love you, doesn’t he?”
“I wish we hadn’t lost those 12 years.” I kissed the letter and held it close to my heart.  I then set the letter down and unwrapped the ribbon from the box and opened it up to reveal about 12 tiny diamond-like beads.
“What are they?”
“I….don’t know. Wait there’s something in the box.” I pulled out a small rolled up note and unraveled it and written on it was a spell.  “Luce Stellarum.” Suddenly the small diamonds began to glow and raise up from the box.  They began to form around me and slowly they circled around me.
Each one that passed around me, what appeared to be stardust began to rain down upon me.  After a few spins from these diamond studs, my dress almost seemed to come alive as starlight patterns now shined through the dress and the diamond beads came onto the dress.  Some formed the Orion constellation around my right left.  One made a stardust trail of a shooting star going at my left hip, and the rest seemed to spread themselves and land perfectly into my hair.
The stardust around me faded and I turned to Hermione and she was in pure awe.
“(Y/n) you look—”
“What? Please tell me that didn’t ruin the hard work I did.”
“No, no it—it enhanced it actually, come see.” She brought me over to the mirror and I was stunned at what I saw.  The stars on my dress now began to twinkle and shine like the real stars in the sky.  My hair also glistened with starlight as the darkness of my hair really made the beads now scattered throughout my hair twinkled and shined.
“Oh dad….mum. Thank you both.” I clenched my mother’s locket and tried to keep back the tears from ruining my makeup.
“Now George won’t be able to take his eyes off you ever again after tonight.”
“Oh shut up Hermione. Now let’s get going, the ball’s about to begin we don’t want to be late. Least of all you since you’re leading this thing.” I took her hand and we quickly raced out of my dorm room and toward the Great Hall.
*George’s POV*
I stood by the entrance of the Great Hall with Fred, Angelina, Lee and Katie waiting for (Y/n) to come down so we could all enter together.
“Where is she?” I asked nervously.
“She was with Hermione in her dorm getting ready. It’s more of a walk from the Ravenclaw dormitories than Gryffindor. She’ll be here.” Angelina assured me.
“Or she could’ve had cold feet and chickened out last minute.” Lee joked but both Katie and Angelina smacked his arm for that comment.
“She’ll be here Georgie, she wouldn’t bail on you without giving you heads notice. Especially after the way you’ve been treating her.” Fred said as he wrapped his arm around my neck.
“In what way?” he gave me a pointed look.
“Oh don’t you start being daft too. The two of you I swear.”
“What are you talking about Fred?”
“Ever since the Quidditch world cup tournament we saw before school started. Don’t think I hadn’t noticed how much cozier you two have gotten with each other.”
“You really are the loose-screw in this twin pair Freddie. We’re all just…..”
“She’s beautiful.” We heard Lee, Katie and Angelina chorus breathlessly.  Fred and I then turned and I saw before me the most sacred thing my eyes would ever see.
(Y/n) Celeste Black walking down the stairs leading to the great hall.  Her dress was a mixture of purple and black, almost like a nebula far out into space.  Her dress was also covered in starlight diamonds that glowed every now and then, especially when the lights from the torches hit them just right.  Her hair was done up beautifully and fell down into waves but what surprised me were the same Starlights that were on her dress, also seemed to be in her hair as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And she was—she…..she was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.  Even more beautiful than she normally was.
She soon came up to us and even though her mouth was moving, I couldn’t hear anything.  I was just encompassed by just the mere sight of her.  As our group began complementing her dress and her appearance, I began to notice things about her than I never thought of before.
Like did her eyes always seem to sparkle like that? They almost seemed to resemble—no resembling is too good of a word uhh—they outshined the sparkle of real sapphire jewels.  And the way her hair framed around her face, it gave her this ethereal deity like aura, and Merlin her smile……words couldn’t describe just how I felt about her smile.
It's her smile that I’ve always loved about her and I’d always want to do anything in this world to let her keep it.  She’s suffered so much in her life that she deserves all the happiness in the world, and I hope to one day be the man to give that to her.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa Georgie where is all this sentimental mush coming from? It—no.  What Fred was hinting couldn’t be true….or could it?
“Oi Georgie boy, best stop gawking at her and give your girl a complement less she think you find her repulsing.” Freddie whispered as he smacked me in the back of my head.  I shoved him off of me and walked up to her.
“H—uhm….(Y/n) you-y-you look…..” my throat felt dry and my palms began to sweat.  “You look beautiful.” I managed to croak out after clearing my throat.  Oh please tell me I didn’t sound like a git.
“Thanks George, you look rather dashing yourself.” We both smiled softly at each other as our eyes remained locked onto each other’s.
“Ahh I see the last of your group has at last arrived. Mr. Weasley, Mr. Weasley and Mr. Jordan, you three can escort Ms. Johnson, Ms. Bell and Ms. Black into the Great Hall.” Professor McGonagall said.
“Well then you two, shall we get a move on?” Fred asked as he and Angelina hooked arms and walked into the Great Hall.  Lee and Katie followed just behind them and I cleared my throat as I extended my arm.
“Shall we, milady?”
“Indeed kind sir.” She wrapped her arm around mine and once again that tingle that’s been happening since the Quidditch world cup came back over me.  I guided her in and how is it that even with the magical snow falling down from above, she seemed to become even more ethereal than she was just outside in the hallway?
We joined up with Fred and Lee amongst the crowd and soon the band began playing as the four champions now walked through the crowd toward the dance floor to lead the first waltz.
“Doesn’t Hermione look beautiful?” I heard (Y/n) ask through the crowd’s applause.
“Yeah….beautiful.” but my eyes weren’t even looking toward Granger.
*My POV*
Once the four champions began the first waltz, it was Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall who were the first in the crowd to start waltzing.  But by bit more couples of both students and staff began to fill the dance floor.  I turned to George and asked him.
“Shall we?”
“I thought that was supposed to be my line?” he asked teasingly.
“Who says we both can’t share it?” he extended his hand and I took it and he lead me out into the dance floor.  The second I felt his hand touch my waist, I gasped softly and felt him pull me slightly closer.  My right hand intertwined with his left and placing my left hand around his shoulder he then lead me into the waltz with the others.
Even as the entire student body were now on the dance floor dancing in unison, my eyes couldn’t turn away from George.
“Who would’ve thought George Weasley was a phenomenal dancer?” I couldn’t help but praise.
“Trust me,” he picked me up by my waist in another lift before setting me back down, “I’m full of surprises.”
As the night went on, the waltzing had now turned into a real dance as we were all crowded together now dancing freely as the rock band played their set.  George and I stuck together in the crazed mosh-pit of students and screaming fangirls, jumping up and down to the beat.  Him occasionally spinning me around and at times we couldn’t help but join the screaming crowd as we both would howl in rejoice.
After the current song was done playing, we all cheered and I decided I needed a break off my feet.  George guided me to our table where the girls and Fred and Lee had taken their seat about four songs ago.
“You two truly are the party animals.” Commented Lee.
“What can I say, when there’s a good beat, I just gotta move my feet.” I said.  “Although I am feeling a bit parched.”
“We were just about to get some drinks and refreshments, we can bring you guys something back.” Angelina said.
“Oh you guys don’t have to do all that.”
“Really we insist, besides you’re the brave one. Dancing and lasting longer than us in heels.” Katie said shoving my shoulder as she stood up and our group of friends left leaving George and I alone.
“She’s wrong you know.”
“About what?” asked George.
“The heels. My feet have been killing me the past half hour or so.”
“Why didn’t you say anything?”
“Stubbornness. Plus I’m not lying about what I said when it comes to dancing. Besides I’ve gotten worse things stuck between my paws as a puma. Thorns and twigs I can live with, but high heels they’re murderer.” I unhooked one of my heels but before I could get the other one, George suddenly knelt down in front of me.
“May I?” I was breathless.  My heart skipped a beat and my voice was caught up in my throat so I only gave him a soft nod.  He undid the strap and slowly removed my left heel.
His calloused fingers wrapped around my ankle sent shivers through my entire body.  But when I felt his thumbs starting to lightly rub into my skin I slightly jumped and said.
“George Weasley I swear if you’re trying to tickle my feet.”
“No tickling, I solemnly swear.” He quickly crossed his heart just like he did back when he asked me to the ball.  “I was however going to give your feet a light massage before the blisters started setting in though.”
“I’ve been dancing in heels for more than an hour and a half, my feet are probably even more sweatier than after a Quidditch match.” I internally groaned.  Why the bloody hell did I just say that out loud? And in front of George of all people.
“I can always go to the loo to wash up afterward. But if you don’t want it, all you have to do is just say so.” We stared at each other and I swear if I stare another second into those eyes, my heart just might burst out of my chest.
“Well if…..I mean, I—if you want to. But don’t think I’m trying to push you into doing it.”
“I wouldn’t have offered if I think you were. Believe me I’ve seen you when you get pushy.” I playfully glared at him but it quickly went away the second George began massaging my left foot first.  His thumbs doing slow circles just below my toes while his fingers dug into the balls of my foot and rubbed them.
It took every ounce within me to not moan but Godric above did his hands feel good! No, no, no! Get your mind out of the gutters! This is your best friend you keep imagining in these types of situations. And yet—why does this feel right?
*George’s POV*
Normally I’d never do this, especially since after I was a kid and mum would force us to help great Aunt Tessy’s sponge bathe her cuticles and boils on her feet.  I still get nightmares just thinking about it, but for (Y/n).  Helping her heal her feet from possible blisters and sores she’d feel in the morning, it was worth it.
Although I could swear I thought I heard a moan from her.  I also noticed briefly how she’d bite down on her lip occasionally whenever I’d get a sensitive spot.
No, no, no! George stop this! (Y/n) is your best friend! You can’t think of her that way…..or can I?
*My POV*
After massaging my left foot, he then patted his knee asking for my right and he got to work massaging that one next.  By the time he was done, the others began to arrive with our refreshments.  Some drinks and small bits of sandwiches.  As he said, he excused himself to the loo to wash his hands and Angelina asked me.
“What was all that about?”
“Yeah, what did you two crazy kids do while we were away?” teased Fred.
“Nothing happened mum and dad.” I mocked.  “He’s just going to the loo to freshen up a bit. Is that a crime?”
“At least he waited till we got back.” Piped Katie before she ate a chocolate covered biscuit.  I drank my water before taking a bite of my sandwich.  “So is everyone having a decent Yule Ball?”
“I’d say it’s more than decent.” Said Lee.
“I would agree to that.” Added Katie as she and Lee gave each other love-sick puppy dog eyes.  Katie softly giggling as they took each other’s hands.
“Well congrats you two.” I applauded.
“Now if only another certain pair of lovebirds would grow a pair and buck up the courage to talk.” Fred muttered.
“What was that Fred?” I challenged.
“Nothing, nothing.” I shrugged as he didn’t look me in the eye.
The hour droned closer to midnight and soon the ball would be over.  At this point our group had dispersed.  Lee had to turn in early because he needed his rest for his announcements at the next challenge of the tournament tomorrow so he and Katie left to retire for the night.  Fred and Angelina went off to go snog somewhere after having a couple of spiked drinks that some of the Durmstrang boys brought from their home country.
Leaving George and I the only ones behind.  Pretty much everyone was either out in the hallways, had retired for the night, or out snogging somewhere.  Very few people remained in the Great Hall save for a few couples who were now slow dancing to one of the band’s slow ballads.
“What do you say Black? One last dance before midnight?” asked George.
“I’d say that’s not a bad idea.” I accepted.  We took each other’s hands and we walked back out onto the dance floor.  George pulled me as close as possible to him and I reached up and put my arms around his neck while his hands held my waist.
As we slow danced to the ballad, neither of us spoke a word to the other but we kept our eyes on each other as we slowly danced around the dance floor with the few couples that remained dancing.  I guess I must’ve had some hidden Gryffindor courage hidden within me because I worked up the courage to gently set my head over George’s chest.
At first I felt him tense up and I almost retreated back but I soon felt him place his hand behind my head while his free hand took my right hand and held it right up to his shoulder.  His head soon rested just on top of mine and the hand that once held my head was now wrapped around my back keeping me close.
I heard his heartbeat through his suit and even though the smell of sweat still lingered in the air, I could still smell George’s natural scent of cinnamon and apple.  The world seemed to melt away as all that remained was George’s arms wrapped around me, his head on top of mine and his heartbeat ringing in my ear.
Soon the gong from the clock tower rang out Midnight and the Ball was officially over.
“Happy Christmas (Y/n).” whispered George.  I looked up at him and whispered back.
“Happy Christmas Georgie.”
“C’mon, I’ll walk you back to your dorm.” He then lead me out of the Great Hall and we walked up the stairs and toward the direction of the entry to the Ravenclaw common room.  We stood by the raven statue and I alone heard the riddle.
‘Who lived longer, the ghost or the poltergeist?’
“A non-being can never have been.” I responded back.  The wings of the raven soon folded inward and the door soon opened.  I turned to George and we hugged each other one last time.  “Thank you, for such a magical night. You were right, I would’ve been miserable if I had been left alone tonight.”
“Glad I could get through to you and change your mind.” I smiled and booped his nose before entering the doors.  I turned back towards George and sighed lovingly before the doors closed behind me and I was already overcome with a longing to go back into his arms.
I walked past the common room and headed up towards my dorm room and when I entered, Luna lay upside down on her bed reading her book with her spectacles on.
“Hello (Y/n). Fun time?” I walked over to my bed and collapsed onto it once more sighing longingly.  “The Thestrals missed you tonight.”
“I’ll be sure to bring them extra meat when we go see them together.” My mind kept going back to George.  His eyes, his smile, even his long ginger hair.  “Luna, if I tell you something will you promise not to say this to anyone?”
“Who would I tell?” she asked sitting right side up and pulling her specs on top of her head.  I cringed internally, right no one does talk to her.
“Tonight was the perfect night. And not because of the dancing, or getting dressed up and feeling radiant. No tonight was perfect……because of George Fabian Weasley. But I just don’t understand what it was that I’ve been feeling of him lately. I mean we’ve known each other since we crossed paths on the Hogwarts express our first year. And been best friends ever since. But now—actually I guess since the Quidditch world cup tournament we saw just before the school year started I’ve been having these—feelings for him. Like thousands of fairies are tickling around in my stomach. My pulse and heart seem to feel like I had just gotten done with a quidditch match, and my face flushes everytime we’re alone together. People are starting to call it out but surely it can’t be……could I truly be falling in love with my best friend? Is it mad of me to do such a thing?”
“As I’ve told you before, you’re just as sane as I am. I may not know much in the sense of romantic love but from what I’ve seen there is a strong connection. A red thread tied between the two of you just waiting to be seen.”
“But even if I do love him, how can you be sure he might feel the same? It would hurt twice as much of he didn’t and I’d have to lose him because of it.”
“A red thread between two souls is a symbol of soulmates. Spirits and hearts destined to be together. My mum always said, the ones we love always have a way of finding us in the end.” I turned to look at her.  She placed her spectacles on her desk and covered herself up. “Goodnight (Y/n).”
“G’night Luna.” I picked up my wand and used my magic to clean myself up and get ready for bed.  I buried myself under the covers and thought back to these past few months.
Could it really be true? This whole time this past year, have I—really been falling in love with George Weasley?
*George’s POV*
I lay there on my bed staring up at the ceiling my mind thinking of nothing but (Y/n).  Was I really falling in love with my best friend? Surely I can’t be, but then why can’t I stop thinking about her? And were those signs of hers tonight a sign that maybe just maybe she felt the same way too? I mean best friends can give each other foot massages, or go out and dance a slow dance, or even hold each other close, right?
Then why was my heart racing the entire time she had her head on my chest? And I hope and pray to Godric she didn’t hear just how fast it was beating.  The last thing I’d ever want is to lose my best friend.  And I can’t….not after all she’s lost already.
I turned to my side and shut my eyes hoping to get some sleep and just think about the next challenge of the tournament.  After all Fred and I had big plans for it.

This update might be a bit all over the place. I'm still ill, but I had a spark to write, even if it doesn't make much sense at all.
Credit to @alotofpockets for the idea on this update; I am very grateful for her help!

After being sick for five days, it became apparent that having the flu was not enjoyable. You spent most of the week confined to your bed, wrapped in blankets, with a noticeable pile of used tissues beside you. You felt cold one moment and hot the next, shivering uncontrollably.
You had been feeling completely miserable. However, the good news was that you were starting to feel better just in time for the training session ahead of the away game against Bristol.
Although, your team's mothers held differing opinions on the matter.
"Maybe you should take a few more days to recover" Beth suggests, shaking her head. "I still don't think this is a good idea" she adds.
"Why? I feel better now" It's not a complete lie. You do feel better, although you're still slightly sniffling and your head is pounding a little bit too much. Overall, you did feel better than previously.
"I just don't think it's a good idea" Beth says, pursing her lips and turns to look at Viv, seeking her input.
The Dutch shakes her head in agreement and adds, "There's no harm in taking extra time to feel better. You don't want to push yourself and make yourself worse" she tells you.
You try your best to resist the urge to inwardly groan at the two of them, "Seriously? Come on. I'll be fine! I have to get back into the squad-- You know that the nations league games are coming up soon so I need to get minutes" You know that it's important to play; you can't be sidelined instead.
"There'll be plenty of chances for that" Viv tells you with a frown, but she can't help but be concerned about how much you've been pushing yourself.
"I can't be sidelined, I need minutes!" You exclaim before you storm off to finish getting ready for training.
"That kid is..." Beth begins to speak.
"Stubborn" Viv finishes the blondes' sentence.
Beth can't help but chuckle slightly, "Well, that's one word for it now, huh?" she jokes.
"If you're talking about Y/N, then she's definitely stubborn," Laura chips in, amusedly, as she appears in the kitchen. "What happened this time?" she wonders.
"Y/N wants to go to training apparently" Beth exhales a sigh and shakes her head. "It's a bad idea" she states.
"It's definitely a bad idea" Laura replies in agreement with the blonde, she knew how stubborn you could be at times.
"Well, hopefully Jonas will realise that's not ready to be playing in the game yet" Viv tells them as she exhales a sigh.
Tumblr media
Apparently, Y/N had done an excellent job of persuading Jonas and the coaching staff that she was fit to play. Therefore, it was not surprising when she secured a spot in the starting eleven for the upcoming game.
This game is significant as Viv is set to return to the pitch, being subbed on during the second half.
"Oh dear" Beth mumbles as she shook her head.
Viv exhales a sigh, "This is not good" she states.
"I'm glad to see that Y/N is feeling better. It'll be good to have her in the starting lineup," Steph says as she looks over to where Kyra and Y/N are joking around on the bus.
"Except that she's not better. We told her she should take more time, but you know what Y/N is like..." Beth remarks.
"Stubborn" Steph pipes in, amusedly.
Beth and Viv both nod in agreement with the woman.
Jen furrows her eyebrows, "You mean she's still sick? I can't see this going well then" she confesses.
"It really isn't going to" Beth exhales a sigh.
"We can't get involved though and decide things for her, or she'd be upset with us for that" Viv states knowingly.
"Yeah, you're right there, Viv" Beth replies in agreement with her girlfriend as she looks over at you, realising that she couldn't say anything and sway the decision or it would backfire on her.
"Cheater!" Y/N shouts aloud, glaring at the australian girl sat opposite her. "Stop cheating!" You protest.
"How am I a cheat? You can't even cheat at Uno!" Kyra delcares with a smug smirk on her face.
"Easy there Y/N, it's just a game now" Laura states, amusedly, although she isn't playing, she's joined all of you on the coach to the game to watch it.
"Nah! Kyra's cheating!" You continue to scowl at the girl while crossing your arms.
"How did I?" Kyra's smug look was starting to annoy you even more.
"You know you did-- You looked at my cards!" You break out into a sudden loud cough as you get worked up, shooting further glares at the 21-year-old.
"You want some water for that cough?" Laura wonders, concerned.
"I'm fine!" You shake your head in protest.
"I thought you said you were better--" Kyra's words are cut off.
"I am, I'm totally fine. It's just a tickle!" You protest, shaking your head as you try and avoid coughing again.
The rest of the girls' don't seem so convinced about it as Kyra and you continue to play uno, under the watchful eye of the rest of the girls.
"Kyra! Stop cheating!" You shout aloud, fed up off the girl constantly cheating with the game and trying to look at your cards.
"Less of the bickering now children" Katie chips in as she laughs, shaking her head from where she sits beside Caitlin.
"There's only one actual child here" You remark, continuing to cross your arms and scowl at the Aussie girl in front of you.
"What's going on?" Alessia wonders, glancing at the two of you confused as she sits in front with Vic.
"Kyra is being a massive cheat!" You exclaim aloud, pointing your finger in the girls' direction accusingly.
"Sure, go and tattle. That's real mature of you kid" Kyra states, smirking cockily.
"Says the 21-year-old whos' acting immature" You remark as the girls all watch you and Kyra bicker amusedly.
"You're being dramatic, Y/N. It's just a game now" Kyra states doing everything in her that she can to wind you up.
"KYRA!" You lunge towards the older girl.
"Y/N!" Kyra shouts back.
"Girls, they're fighting again. Might want to sort that out?" Katie jokes glancing between Beth, Viv and Steph as she watches the two of you almost attempt to wrestle with eachother.
"Kyra, cut it out. Stop winding Y/N up" Steph scolds the younger Aussie girl.
"Kyra, stop winding Y/N up" Steph scolds the younger Aussie girl.
"Y/N you need to calm down, it's just a game. Take it easy" Beth scolds, shaking her head. "Viv, would you talk to her? She'll listen to you" she turns to her girlfriend for help.
"Y/N" Viv scolds you with a knowing firm look
"Sorry" Both you and Kyra apologise after being told off like 2 misbehaved kids, at least you had an excuse that you were an actual kid.
"Handled it like a pro there, girls" Katie jokes with them.
"Well, we've got a few years experience, eh?" Beth remarks to the Irish women.
"It's like I'm permanently babystting" Steph huffs and rolls her eyes. "Caitlin, it's your turn next!" she insists to the fellow Aussie, while the rest of the girls just laugh.
Tumblr media
At first the warm-up is going successful, you run with the rest of the girls to warm up and try and obtain the energy needed, you're feeling good and motivated about the game.
It's going well until it's not...
You can't help but wobble slightly as there's a light pounding in the back of your head, you just put it down to dehydration instead rather than the after-effects of illness instead.
"You alright, Y/N?" Lia notices you stumble slightly and frowns.
"I... I'm good" You're crouching over slightly as you feel out of breath but you try and play it off like its' nothing instead.
"You're sure?" Lia checks in as she's not too keen to give up on the conversation yet.
"Oh yeah I'm great, I'm totally fine" You insist as you try and push off the terrible feeling that you felt looming; You couldn't afford to miss this game due to illness.
"Y/N..." Lia still doesn't look totally convinced, but she knows better than to try and push you.
"I'm fine, really Lia... Uh huh, yep I'm cool" You nod and quickly run off in the opposite direction to avoid any further questions and concerns.
Tumblr media
"Okay, kid. This is it, your time to shine!" Katie's enthusiastic voice comes from behind you in the lineup. "Are you ready for this?" she asks.
You were reluctant to acknowledge that your headache was intensifying. The throbbing sensation in your temple caused you to tightly shut your eyes, and the noise emanating from the crowd only made it worse.
It's worth mentioning that your throat feels somewhat scratchy again. However, you have to play in this game, so you pretend it's nothing and that you're fine.
"I was born ready, let's go!" You cheer and try to be like your usual upbeat self, but never mind how terrible you still feel.
"Let's go girls!" Kim exclaims, leading the team onto the pitch alongside the Bristol team.
As you walk out to the pitch with the rest of your team, you try to keep up the facade of looking happy. You attempt to block out the pounding feeling in your temple, knowing that you only have to make it through 90 minutes before you can finally flop down and fall asleep once again.
As soon as the whistle blows and the game starts, you get your first touch on the ball and begin racing all over the pitch. Despite fighting off the flu, you don't give Bristol a chance to gain possession of the ball.
Tumblr media
It all happened too quickly for you to realise what is happening at that moment. The team is 2-1 ahead of Bristol when everything went wrong.
You went to intercept the ball, a simple move that you had done plenty of times. Suddenly, as you got your toe on the ball, ready to pass it in the direction of Alessia, you felt a sudden pop in your knee, followed by a sharp pain that felt excruciating.
"Agh!" You scream as you fall down onto the pitch in agony.
"Y/N!" Beth is the first to crouch beside you, concern spread across her face. "What's happened?" she questions, worriedly.
The sound of the whistle echoes through the stadium as the girls rush to your side to check on you; the noise is suddenly silent as the crowd of fans watches on in despair as Arsenal's wonder kid falls down on the pitch.
"What hurts-- What's happened?" Katie asks, concerningly as she joins you on the other side.
The tears well up in your eyes as you clutch your knee to stop the pain, "My knee... It's my knee!" You exclaim, letting out a sound of whimpering. "I heard it... I heard the pop!" You add.
"It's okay, Y/N. Don't panic; everything is going to be fine" Viv says as she quickly comes to your side. She had been subbed on to replace Alessia, but you couldn't help but feel awful. This was supposed to be Viv's comeback, her return to the pitch after her ACL injury, and instead, you selfishly took the spotlight away from her.
You could see the girls exchanging looks as they signalled for medics. It's at that moment that you realise you have made a grave mistake. Even though nobody spoke, it was clear that the situation was not good.

"Hurry up! We're gonna be late!" You hear your sister call from outside your room.
You adjust your shirt collar once more, and double check the green paint covering any and all exposed skin on your body hasn't smeared. Though, you doubt it. Lisa made sure to completely cover you. Be that because she wanted your costume to look nice or simply because it was a ploy to make you miserable, who's to say?
You turn around, facing your brother who's sitting up on the bed, still looking very cute in his pumpkin costume.
Your sister bursts into the room, "Let's goooo." She moans, marching over to you and starting to shove you towards the door with gloved hands.
"Hey, hey cool it Frankenstein. There's a baby on the bed that has to come with us."
You can't see her eyes through the goggles she's wearing, but her frown tells you she's not pleased.
You turn to face her fully, "Lisa. We can't leave Gabe at home."
She groans, and starts trudging out of your room, "Fineeee, but hurry uuupp."
"Okaaayyyy," You say, and put your focus on your little brother.
You put your hands on your hips, "Alright Gabriel, ready to go?"
He sneezes.
"Good enough for me," You nod, scooping him up and heading downstairs.
Your neighborhood was filled with people in their 60s or older, all retired types and the likes, with a few families with kids Lisa's age here and there. Meaning it was a gold mine for candy. You make your usual lap around the block, Lisa guiding you as you pull Gabe along in his wagon.
As you return to your house, Lisa's bucket and the wagon having collected a good bit of candy, you reach down and snatch up a chocolate bar, snacking on it.
You decide you have to mess with her at least a little bit, "You sure you still want to go to the Plex? This is quite the haul, you know."
"Yes! You promised!"
You laugh, ruffling her already crazed hair, "Just making sure. Go dump your candy on the table while I strap Gabe in, yeah?"
She rushes off, and while you're putting your brother in the car and loading up the wagon your phone buzzes.
It's Abby, 'Hey! You going to make it to the party tonight?
Gonna be super spooky~ :)
And there's a costume contest! Winner gets a sweet prize'
You text back as you start up your car, Lisa rushing back out the door to get in, 'I'll stop by for a bit, team's making me, but Lisa's foaming at the mouth to trick or treat this year and that's my priority'
'Yeah that'd be mine too if I was dealing with her
Thankfully mom and dad have Jack and I don't'
You walk up to your porch, double checking you left the candy bowl out and lock your front door.
'If I have to take a guess, she'll be exhausted by nine and I can drop 'em both off in the Daycare for a bit
but not for long, I wanna be in bed by 11 tonight'
'What are you, 30?'
You get in your car, ignoring Lisa's whining to get a move on, 'Hahahahahaha no.
Just slept bad during my nap earlier'
You pull out, heading to the Pizza Plex. When you arrived, the place is packed, you just manage to grab a parking spot. As soon as she's out of the car Lisa is heading for the entrance, and you have grab her so you can get Gabe out and situated in his wagon.
Upon entering, you're actually quite impressed. You'd seen some staff setting up over the past few days, but now that all the decorations were up it really added to the wow factor. People milled about from place to place, all dressed up, and Halloween music played from speakers all across the atrium.
You look down to your sister, "Alright, where do you wanna start first-aaand she's gone. Dang it, Lisa."
After a quick search you spy her at one of the many tables and booths set up. You give her a brief scolding but then continue on with your evening.
By seven you're the one that's exhausted, you're pretty sure you've hit every spot once if not twice. Except for one, that is.
You'd been saving the Daycare because it's where you'd wanted to end, but now you had no choice, Lisa had quite literally visited every trick or treating spot already, and played most of the carnival games.
The doors are open, and inside you see kids running about playing games and such. Tending to a long line of trick or treaters is Mia and one of the other helpers. She's dressed as a werewolf, while the other helper-Carter maybe?-is dressed as a ghoul.
The former greets you as you approach, "Hey! Good to see you! Love your costume."
"Thank you, I made it for them," Lisa speaks for you, chest puffing with pride.
Mia drops some candy into her bucket, "Well of course! Excellent work, Dr. Frankenstein. There's more candy and goodies inside if you'd like to take a peek."
Your sister turns to you, eyes wide. You nod, and she's rushing in, almost knocking over Carter in the process.
You cringe as you watch after her, her maniacal laughter echoing in her wake.
"Sorry about her," You say as you step to the side, pulling Gabe's wagon up to beside you.
Mia waves her hand, "No worries, but look at this cutie here!" She bends down to Gabe's level, "Hello Gabriel! You look very handsome this evening."
He giggles as she continues to fawn over him. In the meantime, you scan through the Daycare, looking for the bot you're pretty sure was the subject of your crazy dream earlier.
He shows himself for you, suddenly appearing on the ground in front of a group of kids, who shriek from fear and delight. He raises to his full height slowly, using his cape to cover part of his face.
His cape bursts open and he poses, hands up and fingers clawed. It causes the little group to scatter, laughing as they run away.
As he straightens again, he suddenly pauses for a moment, his focus turning to you. His rays spin once or twice and you smirk, waving.
Another pause, then, one hand to his chest, he bows low. Your phone buzzes as he rises again.
'We need to talk.'
You frown, but then shake it off, 'Can't even compliment my costume first? Lisa spent like three hours getting me this green'
'It's, fine. Perhaps a bit tacky, but fine'
You have to hide your gasp as you look up to him, he's now busy with several kids,  'You know, there's a particular emoji I want to send you right now, but I won't because at least one of us has class
I hope that glitter glue stains your faceplate'
'You're simply jealous I look better than you, it sounds like'
You grit your teeth, 'When and where?'
'Ball pit. As soon as possible, preferably'
You glance back to see Mia still messing with Gabe, they're playing peek a boo.
"Hey, this is a weird ask, but could you watch Gabe for me for a second? I uh, need to go check on Lisa."
She gives you a thumb's up and a grin, "Of course! Here Gabe, you wanna help me pass out candy?"
With that taken care of, you head off into the chaos of the Daycare.
Dodging running kids, you do spy your sister among them, viciously trying to win a game with donuts on a string. Her snapping teeth and general, aggressive, energy does make you question for a moment how much sugar she's had already.
You shrug it off, she's probably fine.
Another group of kids running giggling from Sun by the ball pit, but his demeanor shifts as soon as he sees you. Standing tall, maybe even irritated.
"Well? What's so important it can't wait until say, tomorrow?"
Sun's hands smooth out his shirt, "Something's going on with Fazerblast."
"Yeah, trust me I'm well aware," You scoff and shake your head, "Been working on it for days with no luck, why do you care?"
His eyes narrow, "Because it's an opportunity, Bright Eyes. Surely you see that."
"Opportunity? For what-Oh no. No, no, no, you are not doing this to me tonight."
He clasps his hands together, bending so you're eye to eye, "When would you like me to remind you then, Sunshine? When the attraction and, surrounding areas, are functional again and we're able to do nothing?"
You're mad. Because you know he's right. You hate it when he's right. Much less admit to it.
The glitches that've been occurring have been, concerning, to say the least. The map bots have been going haywire after using the charging stations, the music that plays throughout becoming warped, distorted. Certain walls and such shifting randomly, in some cases trapping kids in boxed out sections, to the concern of angry parents.
Not to mention that the guns have also been malfunctioning, misfiring and in some cases, shocking participants when fired. Both the wielder and their target, which should not be happening. And that’s on top of the power outages.
Sun leans closer, voice low, "I believe you are as aware as I regarding a certain, threat, looming in this building. Surely you don't doubt that they may see tonight as as much an opportunity, right?"
You feel your eyes widen a tinge, "You think, you know who, is behind it? Why?"
"It's not her typical method, but it's the only logical conclusion I can come to," His rays spin, "And I'd rather interfere now before it grows worse."
"Mister Sun! What are you two talking 'bout?"
You both jump, looking down and seeing a couple curious kids.
Sun goes into action immediately, taking your hand and spinning you into a dip, "I'm persuading them to join my legion of the undead for all eternity, and if you aren't careful, I'll get you too!"
That does the trick, they run off giggling and chattering. You're still in his arms when you speak up.
"What was that."
He seems to realize he's still holding you, setting you upright and brushing his hands off on his pants, "Acting. Try not to think too hard on it, wouldn't want to damage that brain you're borrowing."
You scoff, "Ha ha. Anyway, since when do you care about other people? I don't see how you're set to gain anything from figuring this out."
"It's not 'people', that I'm worried about, Bright Eyes. Freddy is supposed to be hosting a game of laser tag later tonight and I fear-" He stops himself, looking away.
You're surprised, but stick to just a simple tease, "Aw, you care about your friends, how sweet. Fine, I'm in. But you better have a strategy for getting out of here without being noticed."
"I think the opportunity may present itself sooner than anticipated," You see he's looking behind you.
The kids from before are back, and have brought many friends, garnering a small crowd. You spot Lisa among them, hands on her hips and angry pout on her lips.
She takes charge, pointing, "Hey! The only one that gets to boss them around is me."
Once again, you don't get to react.
Sun laughs darkly, shifting to stand behind you and taking you by the shoulders. He bends so his head is by your ear, taking surprising care to ensure you don't get poked by his rays.
You glance up and see the wire lower from the ceiling slowly, "I'm afraid you're too late, Dr. They've fallen into my clutches and I won't be letting go so easily. They're mine now, and I'll be whisking them away to live in my castle, forever!"
Suddenly, you're in the air, Sun holding you firmly around the waist to ensure you don't fall.
"But, as compensation for your loss," He opens his cloak and candy falls to the ground where you'd been standing, "Please accept this gracious exchange."
To your sister's credit, she seems to considered the offer for a moment before, "I suppose this suffices, very well," And she has the audacity to wave her hand.
Your mouth is agape in shock as you're carried over to the balcony outside the Daycare Attendant's room, "Lisa!"
"He had skittles! That's too good to pass up!" She shouts back, already digging through the candy with the other kids.
Sun sets you both down on the balcony shortly thereafter, and ushers you inside.
"And what was that?" You look up to him, only for his hands to cover your eyes.
"Still acting~ Now, no peeking. I don't need you invading my privacy."
"But you're the one who brought me up here!" You protest. No fair. You didn't even get a single glance around the room.
He scoffs lightly, "Semantics, Sunbeam. Start walking."
If you were in a worse mood you'd have ignore the demand. But, you want to get this over with as quick as possible. You feel bad just leaving your siblings in the care of the helpers without any notice, and you'd also like to actually enjoy Halloween a bit instead of doing what you do every day.
You hear a door open and shut, and the hands are removed. It's still dark however, and turning you see the other Attendant is standing behind you.
"How do you manage to completely change your outfit?" You nod to the lack of shirt and cloak.
His faceplate spins, "Trade secret."
"Fair enough, how's your Halloween going? Besides this I mean," You start walking down the hall to the theater, where you hear a Halloween movie playing.
He walks beside you, passing out a candy or two to the kids who notice you pass, "Delightful. I rather enjoy holidays when they're open to the public. Thought a day off is nice every so often."
"Tell me about it, I'm glad we decided to take a half-day today."
You reach the door and Moon bids you farewell, "Good luck, and try not to be too hasty, Icarus."
"No promises," You wink and start to walk out of the theater, only to pause and spin around to watch the transformation but, "Oh come on! That was way too quick."
Sun adjust the collar of his shirt, "You have better things to be worrying about, let's get going now, hm?"
"Yeah, yeah, you don't have to tell me twice."
You set off, walking through the busy Plex to Fazerblast. It's actually easier than you expected. No one questions why you and the Attendant are together, which is a nice change of pace from always being concerned about being caught. With the added factor and chaos of Halloween, it's no trouble, save for a few kids wanting pictures and candy.
You run into Chica along the way, she's dressed up as Roxanne. While the chat is cheerful, it's also useful in confirming that yes, Freddy will be hosting a Halloween tournament in the next twenty minutes. It also confirms your fears.
"I feel so bad for him! He's been practicing so much, even choosing to charge over there as opposed to his room the past few nights," Chica sighs, "And yet, he seems so tired, kind of out of it, you know? Not to mention his laser gun keeps causing problems..."
Sun and yourself share a glance but say nothing.
Chica waves her hand, "Well, don't let me keep you anymore, have fun you two!" She shoots a wink and a finger gun your wave and you look away, embarrassed.
As you walk off Sun questions it, "What was that about?"
"Nothing, don't worry about it," You shake your head, coughing, then notice how he's paused, optics dim, "What?"
His eyes brighten again, but his tone is grim, "Freddy's not responding over the FECN. And after discussing with the rabbit, he apparently hasn't for over an hour."
"I'm guessing that's not normal?"
Sun shakes his head slowly.
You curse under your breath, "Come on, we're almost there and now we know we don't have any time to spare-"
Your hand is grabbed by someone, Abby you realize, "There you are! Come on, we just watched Pete dunk Jesse's head in the apple tank and now they're fighting."
"It was so funny, Bri's trying to break them up but I don't think it's going well," Savannah puts her hand on your shoulder, also guiding you along.
You glance back in time to see Sun get pat on the back by Liv as she follows after you three, grabbing the bot's arm, "You should join too! Come on!"
Your eyes meet Sun's and you think you share the same, slightly panicked look. You don't have time for the party. Knowing what you do about Freddy there's no telling what's going to happen at this tournament.
But you can't think of an excuse as an easy out and thus, you have no choice but to join in the festivities and look for a chance to escape in the meantime.
Thankfully, Sun seems to think the same way, not resisting as the two of you are paraded into the west arcade.
The music's booming, people are chatting excitedly, and laughter is heard every so often. The decorations here are just are spooky as those throughout the Plex, cobwebs and bats and pumpkins hanging off railings and the ceiling and so on.
Sure enough, you spy a soaking wet Jesse and Pete sitting across from each other by the stage. Tyler meanwhile, is chomping on an apple while leaning back against the stage, you see it’s one of several. He shoots you a ‘hang loose’ upon seeing you.
Bri is standing over the pair on the ground and appears to be scolding them. She perks up when she sees you arrive though.
"Well look what the cat dragged in!" She grins, giving you a brief hug, "And Sun! You look great!"
He mutters a quiet thank you as she continues to chat with him. Meanwhile you scan your surroundings for any kind of distraction to you get out of here.
"Looking for something?" Pete asks from below you, drawing you out of your worried thoughts.
You glance down to him, "Just observing. What's the deal with you two and water?" You gesture between him and Jesse.
The later stops rubbing his hair with a pumpkin towel, "Pete thinks if he waterboards me it proves he's right."
"That is not true, you started it! He said my costume wasn't good," He looks to the other man on the ground, sneering "Which, by the way, yours is shit."
Jesse throws up his hands, half-dried cloth flailing in the air, "You're the one who picked it out for me, and did my makeup!"
They start bickering and Savannah comes up beside you again, shaking her head, "Ignore them, they're especially annoying tonight because they're both drinking."
"Not surprising."
She pats your shoulder, "Hey, I know it's a party and I really don't want to talk shop, but, I had a breakthrough with the trigger pins."
"Oh? I'm listening," You can't leave currently, might as well find a way to pass the time.
"I snagged one of the faulty guns and just, took it apart to see what I could find, you know, quality engineer brain," She takes a sip of her drink, "And there's nothing wrong with it. The triggers are fine. It's a software issue, got to be."
Your eyes widen slightly, and it occurs to you what situation you might have on your hands here.
Unfortunately, the lights cut before you can react. The emergency lights come on soon thereafter however, so the room's only in relative darkness. People seem slightly alarmed, but once someone boots up a generator and the music starts again, they settle.
You hear a couple whistles behind you, and several compliments.
"Woah! That transition was slick, and your costume looks great!"
A quiet, shy laugh, and, "Thank you, Officer Perry."
You turn, finding Moon standing in Sun's place. And, yet again, you've missed the change in costumes. Damn.
But, you know a chance when it's put in front of you like this, and checking the time you see you've got a little under ten minutes.
You walk over to the bot who's still getting many compliments and take his hand, looking up to him, "Come with me to get a drink."
He nods, and giving a wave to your friends, you head off.
"I don't believe this is the time for beverages, Pandora."
When you get far enough away you stop, turning to him, "I know. Just needed an excuse. Hopefully they'll buy it." You realize you're still holding his hand and quickly let it go, mumbling an apology.
You notice he seems on edge.
"What's wrong now?" You're almost afraid to ask.
"Freddy has been, removed, from the FECN."
"But the last time something like that happened-" You stop, swallowing your fear, "How fast can you get down there?"
Moon chuckles, "Depends on how much you trust me, Diana. And how strong your grip is."
You find out what he means as you're rushing through the rafters and the halls and over balconies to get to the laser tag area. You hold on for dear life, only able to hear the whooshing of air as Moon carries you.
"You're quicker than I thought!" You say over the noise.
You feel his chuckle more than hear it, "Is that a compliment?"
"You can take it as one, how's that?" You squeak and huddle closer to him when you drop from one railing to another.
"Still bitter about my costume change?"
You take the provided distraction, "You're hiding a modern engineering feat from me on purpose. That's cruel. Something I'd expect Sun to do to me, not you, Moon-man."
"You think so highly of me," He beams, "I'll keep that in mind for future use."
The conversation helps ease you a little. You don't think he would drop you, intentionally or unintentionally, but his secure hold along with teasing words offers you a bit of comfort as you worry over what you'll find once you arrive at Fazerblast.
When you arrive in the staff hallway, it's as dark as anywhere else, only emergency lights being the way to see. It's enough, however, for Sun to reappear.
"Still no sign of him?" You ask as you walk over to the door.
You hear a click or two, "No, not yet-"
Suddenly, before you can get out your keycard you're pressed back into the door, Sun's body covering yours as he uses a hand to shield you.
"What?"
His tone is low, pointed, "We're not alone."
You peek through the gap between his other arm and the wall. Sure enough, under one of the red lights down the hall, there stands a figure. You think it must be Rabbit Lady. Though, she looks different.
Covered in shadow, it's hard to make out her features, but her build looks much bulkier than usual. More like Bonnie. It's decrepit as well.
Gaps in her costume that look like they've been torn away, small strands of something poking out at odd angles in spots. Her eyes are two small, purple pupils which stare you down.
A sound from the opposite end of the hall, you both turn to see another shadowed individual standing at the edge of the light. This one, you don't know who, or what they are. Also bulky, but more human in stature. One of their hands is a giant claw though, and their pigtails look like they're made of thick cables and not hair. Their pupils are green.
There's a smell of smoke in the air. But it's, faded.
"Unlock the door," Sun mutters.
You nod shakily and fumble in your pocket for the keycard. No movement from anyone. You slowly start to raise the keycard by your side.
There's a noise from down the hall. Rabbit lady-that has to her right? what who else could it be?-has taken a step forward. A sound from the other side of the hall. Pigtails has also taken a step.
In a moment's hesitation, you drop your keys and they clatter to the floor.
"Shit-"
Both figures start rushing towards you and you fumble to snatch up your keys in time. Just as you grab them Sun takes hold of you to shelter you. You hear both of them rush closer and realize it's too late.
You squeeze your eyes shut when there's a loud noise of something booting up. Opening your eyes, you find the lights are back on, and the figures are gone. Like they were never there in the first place. Like,
"Ghosts..." You whisper.
Sum murmurs in agreement at first, then shakes his head.
"Ghosts aren't real." He states, releasing you.
"Okay then how do you explain that?" You motion to how the hallway is completely empty save for the two of you.
His rays click, "I can't. But we don't have time for this, hurry now, before it's too late."
You huff, but nod, unlocking the door and rushing inside.
Fazerblast is up and running, and you spy everyone gathered around in the center of the arena. The contest hasn’t started yet. More importantly you spy,
"Freddy!" You rush over, Sun in tow.
He turns to face you both, zombie costume doing nothing to hide his friendly demeanor, "Hello Y/N! Hello Sun! What are you both doing here? Have you come to join laser tag?"
"I, you, you're okay?" You're slightly out of breath, and confused. Very confused.
His brows furrow, "Well of course, should I not be?"
"Friend, you're not on the FECN," Sun steps forward and puts his hand on the shorter bot's shoulder, "No one could contact you, we were all so worried!"
Freddy's eyes widen, "Ah, I forgot! Lizzy removed my access for the time being to save my battery for the competition! It will be restored once it is over."
You feel a bit relieved, and you can tell by how Sun's posture relaxes he does too. But still, you need clarification.
"Chica said you haven't been yourself lately, would that be why?"
The bear looks down, hand coming up to scratch his neck, "I... have not been charging properly the past few days due to improper power flow to the charging station. I was so focused on preparing that I did not realize I wasn't getting enough rest until they informed me of the issue. I am sorry for making you all worry."
"No trouble at all, Friend!" Sun steps back to stand beside you, "We're just glad you're alright!"
Sometimes you forget how nice he can be. Your eyes a squint as he puts a hand on your shoulder. But then you snap out of it and shake your head, turning back to the bear in front of you.
"So wait, would that be what caused the issues with the staff bots? Just faulty charging stations?" The fact that it's not related to the previous issues, that it's not even a glitch, has you relieved.
"Not quite."
You turn, and see Lizzy standing there, holding something covered by a white cloth. Their hair is manic, and they're covered in cobwebs and grime from head to toe. You cringe, at least they're wearing coveralls.
They approach, "Figured out the source of all our issues. Want to take a guess?"
"Have anything to do with that there?" You nod to the white sheet.
"Oh yeah."
They remove the sheet, revealing a cage filled with-
"Mice?" You and Sun both question.
Lizzy looks ready to lose their mind, "Yup. I know. Turns out, there's a crawlspace behind where all the machinery is for this place and these little guys," They lift the cage, "Decided to make it their home. Then when they got tired of that, they thought that the generators running Fazerblast would make for a great sub-division to their mousey-neighborhood. You have no idea the number of mice nests I've cleared out of there. Not to mention the number of wires I'm going to have to finish replacing that they chewed through."
"So, it's not related to the mechanics, or the software at all," You say in awe, "Just the power, and some mice."
"And some mice," Lizzy repeats, sighing, "So, so many mice."
You look up to Sun, he looks down to you.
"Huh." "Huh."
You're half out of it when you stumble back into the party upstairs. You brought the Attendant with you because, well you don't really know but you're both here now.
You find your friends in front of the stage, who greet you as you arrive.
"Long time for a drink," Bri quips, "You get lost?"
You laugh weakly, "Something like that."
"You're just in time for the contest results!" Liv exclaims before turning back to the stage.
You sigh, leaning back onto the bot behind you, not caring if it bothers him, "Oh goody."
Sun huffs, but allows you to stay leaning against him while Abby gives her brief spiel on stage before announcing the runner ups and then the winners.
"And in second place, in a surprise entry, but with many votes, we have the Daycare Attendant! Congratulations, Sun!"
People start cheering and clapping and you stand straight, shocked.
"You're joking."
Abby speaks up again, "And in third place, with their killer Frankenstein's monster costume, Y/N!"
"You're joking."
Sun snickers quietly behind you as the two of you are ushered onto the stage beside your friend. You do your best to hide your complete and utter disbelief and frustration.
You're handed a sack of chocolate coins, you're too mad to pay attention to what Sun's prize is. His head is held high, waving and posing and it makes you want to throttle him.
Abby clears he throat, "But of course, we still have first place, which goes to, none other than the other Daycare Attendant, Moon!"
"What."
You bust out laughing, and continue to do so as the lights dim to only a few blue and purple ones remaining, allowing the Naptime Attendant to claim his prize. After the ups and downs of tonight, you'd consider this a pretty good way to end it.
"So," You pop another chocolate coin in your mouth, "You don't think those were ghosts?"
You're sitting on the floor of the Daycare, an hour or so later. Halloween night isn't over yet, but it's starting to wind down. A few straggling kids run through the Daycare here and there, and Mia and Carter are finishing out with the trick or treaters.
Your sister is asleep, laying partly in your lap. Gabe is still awake, but his eyes are drooping as he plays blocks with Sun.
The Attendant looks up from his task, scoffing, "Don't be ridiculous, of course they weren't."
"Okay, well we aren't in a panic situation anymore, so give me an explanation."
His rays spin, staring at you, then glances back down to your brother, "I don't have one."
"Ha!"
"Yet. There's a logical explanation to what we saw, I'm sure of it." He shakes his head a smidge, muttering, "There must be..."
You crumple the gold wrapper in your hand, flicking it so it hits square in the middle of his faceplate, "Well, we thought Rabbit Lady was causing the glitches, and it was just a couple of mice, so I guess anything is possible."
He nods. Then, reaches behind him, holding out two items stacked on top of each other. A folded up t-shirt, and a mug. The second and first place prizes for the costume contest, respectively.
"Here. These are useless to us. You should have them."
You're, incredibly surprised.
"I, wouldn't you want to give them to someone like Bri? Or maybe one of the kids?" Sure it was just silly prizes, but still. It's, kind of flattering? You don’t know how to feel, really.
Sun shakes his head, urging you to grab the items, "You're the only one that makes sense. Take them before I change my mind on the shirt."
"Okay, okay," You do, and after maneuvering around your sleeping sister, switch out your coat and undershirt for the orange t-shirt. It has print on it for 'Fazbear Frights'. You forgot that attraction even existed until you saw the shirt.
You finish putting it on and fix your hair, "Well?"
Sun stares down at you, rays clicking. You raise a brow.
"You know, I think it probably would look better on me."
You gasp, and he snickers, narrowly dodging your hand as you swat at him, before hitting him with more crumpled wrappers that were laying around, ignoring his complaints about needing to 'clean up'.
All in all, not a bad Halloween.
Maybe, just maybe, one of the best.
Maybe.

To say you were nervous is an understatement. You were terrified, questioning if it was a good idea to meet up with Kozume. Yes, you knew him for multiple weeks, and you felt like you could trust him. On the other hand, you weren't sure if meeting up with him now is a good idea, especially with the confusing feeling you had towards Kozume. You didn't want to call it a crush just yet, rather just some weird sentiment or attraction? You were worried that with your conflicted feelings towards the man, you would make things awkward for the both of you. There was also the face reveal that you wanted to film with him, which added to the high anxiety you were already feeling.
You look around, trying to spot Kozume, the camera in your hand on record with it pointing to the ground. The plan was to film his reaction to seeing you for the first time, which was Kozume's idea. He believed that it would make a good thumbnail for the video, hopefully making it more interesting for the viewers. So you continue to look around, knowing that it's up to you to come up to him to greet him. You check the time, worried that he stood you up. You notice that it's only been a few minutes since you arrived at the meetup spot. You grow even more nervous, looking around once more. That's when you spot him in the distance, looking around as if trying to find you. The process was pointless since he had no clue what you looked like. You take a deep breath and start making your way towards Kozume.
"Hi," you say as soon as you reach him. His head shoots in your direction as he was looking in a different direction, his mouth wide open as if he wasn't expecting you to actually show up.
"Oh my God, (name), it's so nice to finally meet you," Kozume smiles and offers you a hug. You accept, though the hug comes out a bit awkward, since you were still nervous. "Fuck, you are so pretty." He lets go and looks at you up and down.
"Thank you," you smile shyly and look away, his stare making you nervous. "You're not so bad yourself." Kenma laughs, trying to release the tension between the two of you.
"So, what have you planned for us today?" He asks you, taking a camera out of your hands and pointing it at you. "Shit, you already showed it, right?" Kozume quickly points the camera to the pavement.
"No, I didn't really give it much thought, to be honest," you shrug your shoulders. "But showing my face at random points in the video is so funny to me."
"So, it's cool?" Kozume once again shows you in the video.
"Yeah, it's cool," you straighten your pose, unsure how to really act with the camera pointing at you. "Anyway, I thought that I could teach you pottery, and we could make some mugs or something together."
"Sounds cool. I'm not the best at this kind of stuff, though." He moves the camera to show his face and then points it back to you.
"And that's why I think it's a great idea for a vlog," you smile.
The two of you start making your way towards the workshop that your boss was kind enough to lend you for a day so you can freely record in there. Even though the walk there was short, due to stopping a few times to record, it takes you a while. You open the side door that opens directly to the workshop behind the shop you work at. You allow Kenma to roam around the space while you set up the stations. You hear him talking about stuff he sees on the shelves, recording everything.
"So, are you ready?" You ask, after you finish setting everything up.
"Yeah, I think," Kenma makes his way to where you're standing, sets the camera on a stand, and sits down in front of one of the pottery wheels.
You explain the basics of clay throwing and how to properly use the wheel. You allow Kenma to get comfortable with the wheel and texture of clay before helping him decide what to make. The two of you decide that throwing a mug is easy enough. You show him how to centre the clay to be able to start working with it. Kozume tries a few times and fails before you offer him help. You guide his hands, centring the clay on his wheel. You fail to notice the redness that appeared on his ears. You return to your wheel, fixing your posture in order to prepare to show Kenma the next step. You carefully move your fingers, the clay between your fingers changing its shape to look more like a mug. You make sure to move slowly and put your hands in a way that allows Kenma to see your technique easily and follow it. Other than a few words in a form of instructions and the quiet noises coming from the wheel, the workshop is silent. Kenma finds the silence comforting, taking him back to all the times he enjoyed watching you equally quiet to help him relax after a whole day of working. He tries his hardest to follow your instructions, but no matter what, his mug looks funky at best.
"And that's it!" You move away to admire your work before turning your body towards Kenma to check on his progress.
"Oh" is the only thing that leaves Kozume's mouth, his eyes going back and forth between his and yours mugs as if he's trying to figure out what went wrong with his.
"It's… cute," you try your hardest not to laugh at his piece. Kenma looks at you, not convinced with your words.
"I told you, I'm not good with this type of stuff." Kenma leans deeper into his chair, clearly disappointed with himself.
"It's alright; we can fix it!" You move closer to Kenma's wheel, turning it on. You once again guide his hands, helping him shape the mug. You're still oblivious to the redness that now moved from his ears to his cheeks. "See? It just needed a bit more love," you say, moving away, finally noticing Kozume's red cheeks, which makes you flustered as well.
"Well, now it needs to rest for a while before trimming and painting." You clear your throat before standing up to grab the camera so you can take closer shots of your mugs. "Who knows, maybe you'll return for the painting? It'll be way more fun, I promise."
"I don't think it's possible to not have fun with you," Kozume confesses, avoiding your eyes.
Suddenly, the workshop feels uncomfortably hot, neither of you sure what to say. Both of you sit in silence for a bit, avoiding each other's eyes. Kenma is the one to break it, asking if you want to do the outro together or if you'll record it later. You think for a while before deciding that filming it together would be way more fun. Making an outro with Kozume goes smoothly with him promising to return soon so both of you can finish your mugs.
"So, my place isn't too far from here. Maybe you could come over and chill with me for the rest of the day?" Kenma suggests helping you clean up the mess both of you made.
"Sure, sounds great."
Tumblr media
location: Kenma's flat
Kenma decided to show you around his flat. 'So you can be comfortable,' he said. The two of you are now in the kitchen. It's a nicely finished room; it's classy with just the right amount of decor that doesn't clutter up the space. You look around, your eyes stopping at a calendar that's on the fridge. The noisy person that you are, you read what's written on it. You gasp after reading today's date and ask:
"You were supposed to be streaming today?" You turn towards Kenma, who's leaning against the counters.
"Yeah, but it doesn't matter; I can stream tomorrow." Kozume shrugs his shoulders, clearly not caring about his original plan for the evening.
"It doesn't feel fair to be honest. Like we spent hours recording for me, you suddenly feel bad, knowing he has to change his schedule to accommodate you, especially seeing that the next day has big bold letters 'DAY OFF.'.
"It's fine, I promise," Kenma smiles at you.
"Kozume…" you start, but the noise of the front door closing.
"Hi, you must be (name)?" A man with short, black hair enters the room; you guess that it has to be his flatmate.
"Yeah, and you're…" You didn't know his name, since Kenma never mentioned it.
"Akaashi." He extends his hand towards you. "Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too." You take his hand into yours and shake it, smiling at him.
"Hey. You want to see my office?" Kenma brings your attention back to him. "Since I saw your workspace, I figured you should see mine."
"Yeah, sure," you follow Kenma behind, saying your goodbyes to Akaashi.
Kozume takes you deeper into the apartment. You pass a set of doors before he opens one of them. The main focus of the room is most definitely his desk with multiple monitors on it and a custom PC. On the opposite side of the room, there's a not infamous couch that Kenma spilt his secrets on while drinking with friends. You chuckle at the memory, which caught Kozume's attention.
"What are you laughing at?" Kenma tilts his head, his brows furrowed.
"Isn't it THE couch?" You can't help but laugh at the absurdity of the fact that he confessed in front of thousands of people while live-streaming, and you're now standing in the same room as him.
"Yeah," he sighs, and when you look over at him, you notice that he looks quite sad, remembering what happened.
"Don't beat yourself up too much," you try to cheer him up, coming closer to you. "It's not like it didn't work out for you. I mean, I am here with you."
"Yeah, you're right." Kenma has a shy smile on his face with his ears getting red again.
"Hey, what if we stream together tonight?" You ask, looking over at his desk. "As long as I'll stay hidden from the camera, though."
"Don't worry, I'll make sure you'll stay hidden." Kozume's smile is much wider now.
Next thing you know, Kenma is out of the office, bringing another chair for you to sit on. He sets up the space, making sure you'll be able to comfortably read his chat and play without being seen. It made your heart flutter, thinking how eager he was to ensure your comfort. The two of you sit in front of his desk with Kozume writing something on his phone.
Tumblr media
"Wow, that was intense" you say as soon as the stream ends, taking a deep breath.
"Yeah, but don't worry they loved you" Kenma smiles, getting out of his chair and moving onto the couch.
You decide to join him there. The two of you fall into the comfortable silence. Or at least comfortable to you. When you decide to turn to look at Kenma, you notice that he is deep into his thoughts, clearly overthinking something.
"What's on your mind, Kozume?" You ask him, turning your whole body towards him.
"It's just that the entire chat was asking if we were on a date or something and I just worry that you're forcing yourself to do all of that" Kenma says after a few more minutes of silence, his eyes looking everywhere but at you.
"Listen, I wouldn't ask if you want to hang out with me if I didn't want to" you extend your hand towards his face, turning it towards you. "I might not feel exactly the same way you do, but saying I don't feel anything towards you would be a complete lie. I do feel something towards you, maybe not love just yet, but definitely something deep."
"You really mean that?" the rest of kenma's body turns towards you, his face getting closer to yours.
"Yeah, we could try and go on some dates or something and see where it'll take us" you move your face even closer, both of your breaths mixing with each other. "We could try."
"We can try" Kenma smiles, closing the gap between you into an intimate kiss.

Hi everyone! Main part of 'fanboy' came to an end, however I might not be ready to part with these two. I have a few ideas for adding more to their story, but I’m not sure in what form you’d be interested in reading it.

This thing still working? Let me see...
Tumblr media
Oh there we go! Hello everyone!
Its been a bit, huh! last post was in... what-- JULY?? Goodness I've really left you guys hanging-- Luckily I FINALLY found some time to actually do some stuff especially since-- well---
I got eliminated--
But hey! can't win em all right? Hopefully ill be able to be a bit more active now that I don't have to worry about the competition....
Buuuut I might be a little preoccupied with my er--- new situation... lemme just turn the camera around-
Tumblr media
Ah my break's almost over but! I'll be in touch! As for Two, they'll be around as well, don't worry! They just have a lot of stuff to juggle now that the game's REALLY picked up.
Gonna work on some older Q's, do a little cleaning, then open the askbox! See you soon!
[Admin here, NOW for other news!!! please check the Read More for some changes to how I plan to run the blog!]
[so yeah its beeeeeeennnnnnnn a little time haha]
[with my college classes and a crippling inanimate insanity addiction slamming me in the face like a heavyweight boxer, needless to say ive been a bit... diiistracted?
Tumblr media
But not just that, like my previous check in post ive been running into a lot of writing problems with how TPOT has been progressing.... don't get me wrong, i LOVE it!! Buuuut it also made my life a little harder when it came to running the blog haha
Originally, the plan was this blog was going to take place after the competition ended, but with how wild the story has been getting, ive made the decision to run the blog alongside the story progression of TPOT. This means there will probably be way less funny ask events or like... actual story and roleplay, but this blog wasn't really meant to be something for rp despite how much I love writing stories...
(on my last biology post there was even supposed to be a whole storyline with Two becoming a little silly for a while, but sadly that will have to be put on the backburner for the time being)
Hopefully with this change itll be a little lighter on the conscience, but im still ironing lore out like the inclusion of the other numerals, but in the end this is still an AU, canonical things are subject to be bent and twisted to benefit how I have things set up here.
If you're still here and have been waiting all this time, thank you so much for hanging with me!! This project was never intended to be a huge commitment and I was hoping I wouldn't have as many huge breaks by keeping it lax, buuuuut here we are.
I'm currently on Christmas Break so I'll have a little more time to chip away at things. No guarantees on how consistent I'll be once my next semester starts, but regardless, thanks for enjoying my silly stuff!]

Puppy eyes- Castiel
Tumblr media
summary: at Bobby's house when Dean is trying to bribe you into going at and getting food, you not budging until Dean tells Cass to ask.
A/n: feel free to message me for any requests, I'll try my best for any character you wish.
---------------------------------------------
You and the boys, including Cass, were all at Bobby's house, doing research. "Y/n come on please?" Dean asks you again. He's been practically begging you to go and and get him pie.
"Dean no I told you. We need to get this research done." You say for the thousandth time.
"Quit moaning Dean. If you want it so bad go get it yourself." Bobby says as he's pouring another glass of whiskey.
Dean groans something and goes back to reading his book. Suddenly Dean perks up and walks over to Castiel, whispering something in his ear.
"Y/n, will you please go to the store and get us some snacks?" Cass asks me, his eyes alone are so powerful, its like he's got puppy eyes.
Your heart flutters just my making eye contact.
"Yeah sure. Everyone write down what you want." You get up and walk to the kitchen to grab your wallet.
"That's all it took?" You hear Sam ask. "Whatever it takes." Dean says smiling and grabbing a pen and paper.
The paper goes around the room and soon enough you have your list. "Dean do you want homemade pie?" You ask him. His eyes light up. "Yes please." He smiles and you can't help but laugh.
"Cass wanna come with me?" you ask him hopefully.
"Yes." He says. "Ok come on then. We'll be back in a bit." You walk out the door looking over the list.
You climb into your truck and start it. On the way there Cass asks you a question you were not ready to answer.
"Why did you only ask me to come with you?" He asks. You look over at him and his head is tilted, with his signature confused look.
"You're my favorite Cass. That's why." It was true, but you weren't going to tell the angel the other half of it. A human falling for an angel? Ridiculous. He'd never return the feelings.
"I am sensing there is something more you're not telling me. " He says, his voice deepens a little bit.
"And what would that be Cass? I've got nothing to hide." Obviously you were lying.
"Y/n."
"Castiel."
"Tell me."
You sigh, not sure how to come about this.
"I love you Cass. And not just like friend wise, I love love you. More then friends." Your grip on the steering wheel tightens waiting for his reaction.
"I love you y/n." He then disappears. You're not quite sure how to take his reaction.
You pull up into the parking lot of a store. You open your door and step out, facing into the truck, collecting your things in your purse.
You turn around and Cass is standing right there behind you. "My god Cass you scared me." You place your hand on your heart, trying to calm yourself down.
He stares at you for a moment before placing his hand under your jaw and pulling you into a kiss. And mind you, it was a damn good one.
"Where'd you learn that?" you ask, slightly surprised.
"Pizza man." He smiles slightly and disappears again. You laugh and go an with shopping. You arrive home and walk in, still happy from the occurrence.
You set the stuff on the counter and get the stuff out to make Deans pie.
"What's got you so happy?" Sam asks when you hand him the snacks he requested.
"Watch this." You tell him, catching Deans and Bobby's attention. You walk over to Cass who's reading a random book he found.
Grabbing his jaw just as he did to you and pulling him into a kiss. You pull away and smile at him. "I love you." You say still smiling down as him. "I love you." He says back. You press. another quick kiss to his lips and look back at the boys and Bobby.
"Now if you'll excuse me I have a pie to make." And with that you walk off into the kitchen, radiating happiness.

you walk down a darkened street, only thing to light up the sidewalk you walked on, is one flickering street light. you look to your left, across the road.
how'd you end up here? out of all places, what lead to here? you knew what it was. it was your thoughts. too busy thinking too notice were your mind was taking you.
you turn to look both ways before running across the street. you look up at the opened sign before opening the door. the classic ding, ringing in your ear.
"you need a room?" the man at the desks asks as he sits up.
"uh yeah... for the week" you step closer to the counter.
"any specific floor?"
"yeah actually, do you have room 505 open?" he clicks around on his computer, you tap your foot, impatiently.
"we do, can I get your name and your payment?" you dig in your front pocket for your wallet.
"y/n y/ln" you toss your cash on the counter. he inputs your info into the computer before taking the cash.
"alright, you're all set, here's your room key and the wifi password. enjoy your stay."
you walk down the parking lot, like deja-vu, you look up to see '505' printed on the door. you insert the key, opening the door. the smell of the room bringing you back to your thoughts from earlier. you look towards the bed and could almost see Natasha laying there on her side. you blink and the image is gone. you should've known she was going to haunt you.
-
"here's the key, our room is 505. i'll grab the bags" Natasha says before jogging to the stolen car. you sigh before walking down the parking lot, reading each door as you pass. you find the room and open the door just as she's shutting the car door. you hold the door open for her as she slips in, dropping your bags to the floor.
"it's nice" you try, she nods shortly.
"yeah, hopefully we don't get bored of it." she walks over to the bathroom area, taking off her jacket at the same time. you follow, grabbing the jacket before she tosses it to the floor. she smiles shyly at you. you look down at her blood-stained white tank top. she goes to pull it off but flinches. you urgently step forward.
"let me, nat" you lead her arms through the holes and slowly pull it over her head, revealing the dirty gauze on her side. you reach for it, pulling it off as gently as you could. "it looks infected." you comment. you lead her into the small toilet area and push her to sit down on the lid. you grab the motel towel and get it damp before starting to clean her wound. you try to ignore her staring.
"you think they followed us?" you shake your head.
"no, I saw them crash."
-
"how long do we have to stay here?" nat questions as she paces back and forth, her phone close to her ear. "are you serious? what about food and the payment for the motel?" she sighs "alright, ill talk to you soon, bye" she throws her phone on the bed, she sits by it.
"how long are we staying?" you lean on her, she lightly rubs your head.
"5-7 months."
"as long as its with you" she smiles tiredly.
-
you lay facing Natasha as she sleeps, trying to memorize every detail of her face. its been two months into your hideout, you've fallen for her. you both had no other choice but to get to know each other, going from strictly co-workers to something that has to be more than friends, you're not sure.
Natasha begins to stir, knocking you out of your thoughts, she opens her eyes, smiling she meets your stare.
"goodmoring, detka." she mumbles, before stretching out her arms. she goes to get up but you pull her back down. she inches away, close enough to kiss. her eyes flash to your lips, back up to your eyes. she leans in, laying her lips on yours. you lean into her, putting as much passion you could into the kiss. she melts into, kissing back harder. she climbs on top of me, one hand on my check, they other on my waist. she lightly pulls my hair, then pulls away.
“i’ve been wanting to do that for so long” she laughs as she talks.
“so have i” she just stares at you for a while, running her hand along your check, laying kisses on your neck.
-
weeks after your first kiss, you were confused by the situation. you guys didn’t mention the kiss, it was like it never happened.
Natasha sits at the desk, typing on her computer. you watch as she pulls her bottom lip between her teeth, focusing on what she was writing.
"Natasha" you call out, she doesn't respond. "nat" she peaks over her shoulder. "can we talk?" she nods and closes her laptop. you watch her walk over to you, sitting next to you.
"what's wrong, baby?" you turn to face her.
"what are we?" her eyebrows pinch in confusion.
"what do you mean?" you shake your head.
"you know what I mean, nat... you kissed me and its like you forgot about it. I just want to know if it meant something to you." she grabs your hands, gently squeezing them.
"it did mean something, im sorry for not clarifying my feelings for you. I've been in love with you since the start of this mission, I couldn't imagine doing this with anyone else. If you would take me, I want to be yours." you can't help the smile that spreads on your face.
-
now five months into your mission, Natasha is getting antsy.
"I don't think I can be in this room any longer, I feel like I don't have any space away from you." Natasha said exasperatedly.
you knew what she was saying because you felt it too. every time you too disagreed, there was no where for you to cool down. you both felt trapped. "Natasha-"
she interrupts your sentence. "shut up. I can't stand to hear you talk. just- let me use you for tonight." she walks up to you, pulling you into an mind-breaking kiss.
that's how most of your nights ended. her using you for her own pleasure. not that you minded, necessarily.
-
"you two are good to leave, please make your way back to the compound as soon as possible." both you and Natasha sigh in relief.
after you two pack up the little things that you had, Natasha grabs both of your hands. "I promise to be better to you when we are out of here. I know I haven't been what you deserve but when we are able to have our own normal lives, things will get better."
you smiled gently at her. "I know, my love." you kiss her, trying to show that you forgive everything.
-
"I just need space for a few more days, baby. I swear it's nothing you did, it's just- the whole hotel and all of the time we spent together nonstop, I just want to have a few nights for myself to recuperate." Natasha said as she shut the door to her room.
you two went from spending every waking second together to only seeing each other passing in the hallway. it didn't feel like you two were a couple anymore. you couldn't even remember the last time you two had kissed. it felt like 5 months you two were dating, didn't mean anything to her.
-
you show up at her room door, you knock a few times. "Natasha, it's me. we need to talk." the door slowly swings open, revealing Natasha in a white robe, looking as beautiful as ever. her curled red hair laying just below her shoulders, her green eyes holding your world. this is going to hurt worse than you thought.
"hey, y/n. come in." she moved over, creating space for you to walk past her. when you did, her perfume took over your senses. "is everything okay?"
you shook your head. "no, nothing is okay. why do I feel like I'm losing you? I mean I get that the months we had in the hotel were rough, I felt it too, but why does it feel like you don't even want to try to have a normal relationship? it feels like we're back to were we started." Natasha grabs your hand.
"i'm so sorry I'm hurting you, y/n. I just- I don't think I can do the whole relationship thing. the time we shared together was amazing but I think I realized I can't do it. commitment scares me and I don't want to do anything to hurt you more." with every word she says, it feels like your heart is being ripped from your chest.
-
after the break up, the team took Natasha's side. you had obviously expected that, they were closer to her than they were to you. what you never expected was the way they treated you.
every time you entered the kitchen and they were there, you got at least one dirty look, almost as if you did something wrong. Tony took everything he has given you away, including your dresser, night stand and bed frame. Steve has gone ten times hard on you during your sparing sessions. Bruce has refused to fix the hole in your suit, causing many malfunctions during battle. Clint has outright cussed you out, yelling at you for 'hurting' Natasha. Thor was the only one who was nice enough to ignore you.
you weren't sure what hurt you the most, the fact that none of them ever asked what happened, they just assumed you hurt Natasha and deserved to be punished or the fact that Natasha never corrected them.
-
it's now been a year since Natasha broke it off with you and you're still haunted of her. as you sit in the same hotel room that changed your life. since the break up, you have since quit the avengers, you felt more like a prisoner than a friend to all of them. you have been on the run from them for a few months now, since they declared you a fugitive.
you're not sure why you're back here. you thought you had moved on from Natasha. the whole in your heart half way patched up. as you sit in the old chair that was sat in the corner of the room, you stare out the window, watching as the rain starts to pick up. you see a figure just outside, in the middle of the parking lot. you slowly stand up, peeking out of the blinds as you watch it walk forwards. as it inches closer, you recognize her curves, the same ones you spent every night studying. you open your door, the wind slightly catching you off guard. Natasha finally close enough for you to see her face.
"what are you doing here?" Natasha says, you scoff.
shaking your head. "I could ask you the same thing... how did you find me?"
she chuckled. "I didn't mean to. I think we are here for the same reason. I'm running from the law now too." hearing her voice hurt more than you thought it would. "do you mind if I stay with you? I don't have any more money for a room, I figured id just break into one and stay for a night... but if you don't mind, I think it would be easier?"
you contemplate for a minute, your gut is telling you not to let her in, but you do anyways, slowly moving over for her to come in. she walks in, sighing at the warmth. she takes her jacket off, about to throw it on the floor but you take it from her before she can. the deja-vu making your stomach turn. she smiles at you, innocently.
"you know... I've missed you. I really have. when I found out you left, I felt like I really lost you." you roll your eyes at her statement.
"you lost me a while ago, Natasha." her eyebrows raise at your hostile tone.
she looks down at her feet, almost nervously. "I know, and I regret that night everyday. I was stupid to let you go."
she steps closer to you, clearly holding herself back from reaching out to you. "Natasha" her name came out more pathetic than you wanted, as you hold back tears.
"detka, I am really sorry for the way that I was. I swear I took this time to reflect on how everything played out and I am embarrassed for how I treated you." you turn around, not wanting her to see you cry. you brought the sleeve of your long sleeved shirt, up to your eyes, trying to stop your tears from falling. Natasha turned you back around, gently grabbing your hands, holding them. "you deserve so much better than how I was... I know I never said it before but I love you. with every inch of me, I love you. you have set my world on fire and I stomped it out because I was scared of how much I loved you. please, let me make it up to you." all of your tears seemed to fall at once as you practically fell into Natashas chest, looking for the comfort you never had.

Behold, the first thing I've written in weeks.
This would fit into my 5 +1 "Logan's adventures in unemployment," set in Mexico.
“Are you wearing an oodie?” Alex squinted at his phone as Logan raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah? It's comfortable and warm,” Logan switched the camera to the front view, letting Alex see his nest in front of the TV before turning it back on himself, “are you okay?”
“Fine,” Alex sighed, “it wasn't a hard hit. It's just annoying, it feels like I've been cursed.”
He squinted at his phone again as Logan ducked his head, redness appearing on his cheeks. “Loges? What's the matter?” He asked as he settled on his small sofa, arms of his race suit flapping around but he didn't have the energy to get changed.
“Ididnbtjinxyou.”
“Huh? Logan I didn't quite catch that.”
“I said,” Logan took a deep breath, “I didn't jinx you.”
“Oh okay? I didn't think you had?”
“If I did do it, I'm sorry! I'm trying to fix it.”
“Logan, you're not making a lot of sense right now. What are you talking about?”
“Your bad luck.”
“Okay…..and?”
Logan groaned, “I think I jinxed you but I didn't mean too.”
“Okay,” Alex said again, “and why do you think that?”
“Because,” Logan dropped the phone and Alex was left staring at the ceiling as he heard rummaging before Logan reappeared, his hood having slipped down revealing his messy hair, “because this!” Logan held up a lego Williams car, missing one wheel.
“Logan-”
“I was trying to build it and the wheel wouldn't go on straight and when I tried to take it off, it jammed and when I forced it off, it fell down the sofa and I can't find it!”
“Logan-”
“And when it came off,” Logan continued, a wildness in his eyes that made Alex want to hang up, “a few smaller bits did as well. So I did it. I cursed you.”
“Logan, I highly doubt you being bad at Lego cursed me.”
“But what if it did? What if I wanted the Williams to break?”
“Did you?”
“Maybe a little?” Logan looked sheepish now and Alex felt his heart swoop, “maybe…more than a little.”
“I won't say I'm surprised but Loge, I really don't think you cursed me.”
“How can you be sure?”
“Well for one thing, curses and voodoo isn't real and-”
“Yes they are! Oh my god Alex, you can't just say things like that. You're going to get even more bad luck!”
“Well it can't get worse.”
“Yes it can!” Logan looked so appalled that Alex couldn't stop his laugh, “hey stop it, it's not a laughing matter.”
“Okay okay,” Alex grinned, “so what, do I need to do a cleansing ceremony or something?”
He was joking but Logan looked thoughtful and nodded, momentarily distracted as he looked back at the TV. “Oh for god's sake Osc, overtake the Sauber! You're in a Mclaren!” he shouted with a shake of his head as he turned his attention back to Alex, “a cleansing ceremony isn't a bad idea to be honest,” he mused, “certainly can't make things worse.”
“Okay Logan, well you look into what I should do and let me know.”
“I'll send you some articles, you should do it soon.”
“Can't I just wait for you to do it?”
“I can't do it over the phone though.”
“Well…you could come to Brazil?” Alex asked tentatively. He hadn't broached the idea of Logan returning to a race with Logan yet, he hadn't wanted to push him but it was times like these, when he just wanted his pack around him.
Logan slowly shook his head and Alex tried to hide his disappointment.
“I can't Alex…not yet.”
“I miss you, we all miss you.”
“I'm not so sure about that Alex,” Logan said gently, “and that's okay. I'll be back at some point, just not yet.”
“Before the end of the year?”
“Maybe. Hopefully.”
“I'll hold you to that, oh hang on. Come in,” Alex called, smiling at Patrick as his trainer poked his head around the door.
“They want you for media so we need to just do a quick cool down mate.”
“Yeah yeah okay,” he looked back down at his phone, at Logan, who gave him an understanding look.
“Hi Patrick,” he shouted, “I'll let you get on Alex, speak later?”
“Course mate. Thanks for calling, it means a lot.”
“Not like I've got much else to do,” Logan shrugged, “oi, tell your teammate to stay the fuck away from Oscar.”
“I'll pass on the message,” Alex laughed, “see you later.”
“Byeeeeeee,” Logan waved before hanging up.

When I exited the diner outside of Manhattan, completely disheveled and with my eyes swollen to the point where you might have thought I was a walking zombie, the wind felt cold. I looked around and decided that maybe this time I could just walk home by myself without having to worry about my secret partner picking me up. Even though I adored her, she occasionally refused to move out of my way when I needed some alone time.
I zipped up my coat and set foot on a familiar road I had taken before I met her. Tonight was so chilly that I could hardly move as I stepped onto the pavement; I could see my own breath in the air. I considered what I'll have to do when I got back home. Homework is not an exception; it must be completed. Then I'll cook myself dinner and eat with my cat, Leo. And tonight, if I'm not mistaken, my roommate Aaron will be returning home. He loves to party at all hours and minutes, which is one thing I know about him. If I have time, I can call Scarlett and ask how she is doing today.
But sometimes, I don’t even like talking to her. She can be hard-headed, and most of the time she’s jealous of my roommate.
I soon arrived home and continued to do my thesis for tomorrow, which has to be passed before lunch break. I grabbed my phone from the table and received a message from Scarlett, as expected.
Scarlett: Baby, I could’ve picked you up… why didn’t you tell me you went home on your own? You know there are a lot of bad guys there that could hurt you.
I feel like I can't function on my own at this point. Scarlett would always get in the way when I tried to do that. Am I too flimsy? What was the matter with me? Nothing, I pondered. I was perfectly fine; she wasn't. She seems to be present with every move I make. And as much as I liked the idea of someone looking after me, it can be annoying. I typed a quick message and continued to study once it has sent.
You: i just feel like i wanted some alone time, scar.
Scarlett: I know, but this is a scary world. You live in New York, Y/n. Lots of bad things can happen here.
You: but i know how to take care of myself
Scarlett: I know you do, darling. Sorry, I just feel like I should be protective of a little girl like you.
I was too busy staring at my laptop screen and my cat's purring on the other side of the room to respond to her. I lifted him and placed him on my lap as I stood up. I rubbed him while imagining what my life would be like without her. I would have stayed the same, and I would have never gotten the job at the diner that she gave me.
I was making dinner when I heard the door being closed. I turned over my shoulder and it was Aaron coming inside, smiling at me with squinted eyes. He asked, “What are you making?”
“Grilled cheese sandwich,” I responded, chuckling as I flipped the sandwich on the pan. “Have you eaten dinner?”
He shook his head. “No,” he sat on the couch with his feet on the table, stretching out his arms. “I decided that I am going to be a changed man.”
He can be very funny at times; I find myself laughing at his remarks.
“Oh yeah? What made you realize that?”
He murmured, "Don't know." he pinched his forehead. "I think this was triggered for me when Alyssa broke up with me last week," he said, his voice getting a little more animated. “If I don’t party all the time, then I would save some of my money and spend it on something else.”
“With drinks?”
“No, with… expensive stuff.”
“Aaron, we don’t have space in our lot.”
Aaron clicked his tongue on the roof of his mouth. “Right, but maybe we should get a bigger lot then.”
“You do know that my oblivious mother is paying half of this rent, right?” he laughed at my response, then I could hear him walking towards me. “And besides, I like living here.”
I couldn’t bring myself to tell him that an actress, a famous one, is fucking me all the time.
He sighed, rubbing the back of his head.
“Have you talked to your mom yet?”
My mother, I thought. She was exactly like any other mother, except she wasn't in my life. Though she does contribute to the rent in half, she never supports me emotionally. She never was. I could feel his eyes on me, and I stiffened. I replied with a stutter, “N-No, but I think I will call her later. I don’t know.”
After a short dinner with him, I took a quick bath and lit up my candle that smelled like lavender, since it was Scarlett’s favorite smell. I laid my head on the pillow and stroke my cat’s fur, feeling at peace.
Call her, I suddenly thought. Give your "girlfriend" a call; she deserves to hear about your day.
But what if I just need to be alone for now? I have to stop thinking about the guilt that is building inside of my body, I can’t handle it for now.
I just can’t.
Tumblr media
When I exited the campus, Scarlett was waiting outside. She was smoking a cigarette inside her car because she found it relieved her anxiety when she saw students passing by. As soon as I entered her car, I kissed her on the cheek, watching her lips turn into a grin.
“Hey,” I greeted as I shut the door beside me. “Aaron isn’t in the apartment right now, do you want to come by and visit?”
“That was actually part of my plan since we can’t go out too much,” she said as she turned on the engine of her car. I felt her hand touching the back of mine. “I’ve missed you, baby. I felt like you were stressed out yesterday. Do you want to talk about it?”
I shook my head and sighed. She'll be upset if I let her know I've been feeling this way lately. Every time I bring up our relationship's affair, she gets upset. There’s no escaping that.
“Not really, I just want to be with you right now,” I whispered to her, which I fully meant it. I loved spending my time with her, it felt like our love grows each time we see each other. But sometimes, she just couldn’t leave me alone – it’s almost as if I was a predator in her eyes.
“Okay,” she whispered back, kissing the temple on my head. “Why don’t we get some food first, hm? You must be hungry.”
You’re a homewrecker, her wife would despise you.
She bought McDonald's for our lunch because that was our go-to comfort food, then she ate it at my apartment. I was happily munching on my french fries as I watched Scarlett put music into the CD player. Something like this should always be cherished and never let go, or it might just slip away as you blink your eyes close.
“How was class?” she asked in the midst of our conversation that we had a few minutes ago. “Did you learn a lot today?”
“Not really, our professor just wants us to write him something honest. But I don’t really know what he means by honest,” I explained. “Like does he want us to be honest with our feelings? Our thoughts? Anyway, I don’t even want to talk about it.”
“That’s okay, we don’t have to.”
She walked up to me and stroked the back of my hair, as she kissed the tip of my nose. I hear her say, “Everything’s going to be okay, my love. You don’t have to be scared about this, you know it will work out the way we planned to.”
“I know,” I answered as I watched her sitting down beside me, her hand still on my head. “I just feel like we’re hurting everyone around us. If your wife finds out about this, I don’t know how much I can live with that guilt. And if she even exposes me to the media, I don’t feel like I could blame her.”
“I’ll handle it, okay?” her voice felt reassuring, but it wasn’t enough. She leans closer and kisses me feverishly, I could feel myself stiffening. Mumbling, she added: “You don’t have to be scared baby, she’ll never hurt you. I won’t let that happen.”
She made love to me that day, her cock ramming up my insides, her hand on my lower back as she moans to my ear, biting the lobe. As the strap penetrated deeper into my body and struck the point that pushes me over the edge, I felt myself crying with both pain and pleasure. When she spoke to me, Scarlett would even purr the sweetest words into my ear. And as I heard the sound of our skin smacking against each other and felt it, I would just cling desperately to the arm of the couch.
“Fuck! You feel so good,” she whines, holding down my hips on the couch, making me let out a scream. “Oh god, keep yourself tight for me baby… just like that, yeah…”
“Scar–” my breath hitches. “M-Mommy, please slow down…”
She whines on top of me, and pulls her cock out slowly, then pushes it back in with a loud groan. She whispered, “Can’t help myself, sweetheart, your pussy is just so tight for me.”
I struggled to describe how I felt myself slipping into oblivion with each thrust she makes. She clung to me, her hips making a repetitive upward motion as I felt her wet lips on my shoulder. She placed her hand on my left breast and gave it a tight squeeze.
I screamed out of euphoria.
She grunted as she smacked my ass, her teeth feeling tense. "No one will ever make you feel good like I do," she said. “You can’t ever leave me, okay? You can't leave me, promise me that!”
She spoke with a desperate tone, and I'm not sure how to fix that. especially since I feel bad every time she shoves herself into me.
“I-I promise,” I mewled, my eyes rolling back in my head. “I won’t leave, Mommy.”
“I love you so much,” Scarlett cried out as we kissed each other sloppily. I felt her saliva all over my mouth. “Please don’t go, just don’t go…”
Squeeze it apart, that’s fine.
She knows.

I've been working on this piece slowly over a few months and finally had the motivation to complete it. This is just a self indulgent piece on the aftermath of HZ044-HZ045. Obvious spoilers for those episodes of course. I'm a bit rusty but hopefully it's still an enjoyable read!
Series: Pokemon Horizons
Characters: Friede, Orla (Major) | Mollie, Murdock, Cap (Minor)
Warnings: Description of a character experiencing a panic attack
---
It's only after the kids have retired for the night that Friede calls for a private meeting. He doesn't have to elaborate on its reason, a quiet sort of understanding prevalent as they all made their way to the meeting room.
Friede doesn't immediately enter once everyone else does. He stands outside, forehead pressed against the cool wall as he breathes deeply. Once, twice, three times. When he feels a little more centered, that's when Friede slips into the room.
Four sets of eyes turn to him. Graciously, no one comments on the tightness around his own eyes, the way his assuring smile is simply a knee jerk reaction in the face of trouble. It takes a moment for Friede to remember that he doesn't have to, and the smile drops.
Friede gracelessly drops onto his chair. Cap joins him moments later. Usually he perches on Friede's shoulder but his partner, likely sensing the heavy atmosphere, opts to stand on the table instead so he can get a proper view of everyone.
Heavy frowns marred all of their features. No one speaks for a good while, as if fearful of what'll spill out the moment this tentative silence is shattered. The Copperajah in the room is something that needed to be discussed but…
“... I'm glad that you're all alright,” Friede finally whispers. He can't easily shake off the pure dread upon seeing Rayquaza crash into the ship, to see the Brave Olivine fall out of the sky and towards the ocean. If not for Murdock's skill in making an emergency landing and his assuring call afterwards, he wouldn't have been able to focus on the immediate danger in front of him.
“Yeah, us too,” Orla responds steadily. Friede doesn't realize that his fists are clenched until Murdock's warm hand settles atop of them. Friede breathes out, recalls the exercise Mollie taught him.
In for four, hold for seven, release for eight. Repeat until his head clears up.
Friede is grateful that they give him the time to ease himself back into someone that's not crumbling around the edges. That's better left in private, after he can have a moment to really let the severity of what happened sink in.
Right now, Friede has to pull himself into the leader of the Rising Volt Tacklers. They're turning to him for support and he'll do his best to become their pillar.
“Okay, so. How badly damaged is the ship?” Friede asks, turning his attention to Orla.
“I'll need time to properly assess it but it's bad enough that we won't be able to fly any time soon,” she replies, lips set into a thin frown. “This isn't like patching up holes. We just about fixed the damage done by that Orthworm last time but the damage here is to the balloon itself, not the ship.”
“Alright, so we're grounded until the balloon can be fixed. At least the ship can sail, so I'll see about getting permission to dock the ship at one of Levincia’s ports.” Friede supposed if there's one thing to be grateful for, is that they’re already close to a major city so that repairs can go underway as soon as Orla gets a full assessment.
“How are the Pokemon? No one sustained any injuries?” Friede turns his attention to Mollie next.
“All of them are understandably shaken. It's different from turbulence,” Mollie responds, leaning back against her chair. “Some stuff fell off the shelves but none of it hit the Pokemon. Chansey made sure to keep everyone calm while we made multiple trips towards land.”
“Good, good,” he mutters. It guts him inside to put the Pokemon through such a harrowing experience but at the very least, they’re in good hands with Mollie. Friede will bring Charizard to her later for a check-up.
Friede asks a few more questions about affected areas within the Brave Olivine before they tackle the next course of action: the repairs needed to be done.
“Orla, is the damage something you’re able to fix by yourself?” Friede questions.
She hums, arms crossed as her brows furrow in deep thought. “It’s definitely the most damage the ship’s experienced so far, and while I’ll need to get a good, proper look, I think I can fix it.”
That is gladdening news, even if it’s hard for Friede to feel properly happy about it. “Right. You’ll be having your hands full with it. As for the rest of us, we’re going to have to find ways in drumming up funds for the repair.” It’s not going to be cheap, that’s for certain.
“I know I saw an ad before in the city,” Murdock pipes up, having stayed silent for most of the conversation earlier. “About part-time work at Patisserie Soapberry in Cortondo. The bakery owned by Katy, the Gym Leader there.”
“I can do private consultations,” Mollie adds. “If we’re going to be grounded for a while, I can set something up on the ship. That, or I’ll do online consultations if safety’s a concern.”
“And I can offer online classes or take up researching gigs,” Friede says. “Or take on whatever jobs we get.”
“That sounds good. Though, now the question is what are the kids going to do?” Murdock’s sporting a deep frown now. “I don’t want them to get bored staying here when we’re doing work.”
“Don’t worry about that.” For the first time since this meeting started, Friede’s lips from a small smile. “They’ve expressed interest in learning about Terastallization. I know someone that I can contact with so they can learn just that.”
He’s going to be pretty busy in the coming days. People to contact, plans to hash out, things to do. Nothing left to do but go at it full steam ahead if he wants the Brave Olivine to be airborne again.
Seeing that it’s been a long, stressful day for everyone, Friede won’t hold them up any longer. He hangs back long enough to pass Charizard’s Pokeball to Mollie before returning back to his room with Cap trailing behind him.
Inside, he finds the aftermath of such a violent collision. Anything that’s not taped down is strewn all over the floor. Fallen over books and research papers that are going to be a pain to rearrange greets him.
Friede sighs deeply. He wants nothing more than to fall onto his bed and sleep but his head is still buzzing with all sorts of thoughts, wanting nothing more than to scratch the itch to be productive. He knows that he’ll feel much better later if he begins the task of cleaning his room up now.
After he hangs up his jacket and rolls up the sleeves of his shirt, Friede gets to work.
------
It hits Friede thirty minutes later.
The mildly buzzing thoughts rush to the front of his mind all at once. A heavy weight drops in his stomach like an anvil. While he knows what’s happening logically, he's still powerless to stop his own spiraling.
“Pika?”
Friede has experienced freefall before. Reckless flights on Charizard in his younger years meant instances where he flew too close to the sun. His body is like that right now, floaty in a way that gives him little control. Tremors ripple down his arms, causing his hands to start shaking.
“Pikapi? Pika!”
Things could have gone terribly wrong. Every time he blinks, the scene plays out behind closed eyelids. The Brave Olivine with a gaping wound to its side falling into the ocean, most of the occupants inside powerless to do anything.
He was powerless to do anything.
Friede thinks Cap's trying to catch his attention. It's hard to tell over his increasingly labored breaths. He wants to carefully place the book down in a last ditch effort to exert control but he knows it's not working.
Sadly, this isn't an unfamiliar sensation. Friede remembers the long and terrible nights where he questions his purpose in life, his brilliant mind viciously turning in on itself. All the times where he shook beneath the covers, grounded only by Charizard's head resting atop his legs. His partner is being checked up at the moment by Mollie after–everything.
Friede hates the cold but the trembles wracking his frame isn't caused by it. Muscle spasms perhaps from the sheer effort, futile as it is, to fight off his own thoughts and feelings. He sucks in air through the tiniest straw in the world and wheezes out a pathetic breath.
I should probably sit down, Friede thinks distantly, eyes flickering down towards his trembling hands. He quietly pleads for his emotions to give him more time to–not think about the memories that are coming out of their hiding place. Shoved to the darkest corners in the heat of the moment, prioritizing what’s in front of him (of Roy and Liko and Dot’s safety) instead of–
The Brave Olivine is fallingfallingfalling he’s not able to do ANYTHING but watch as his friendsfamilyhome falls out of the sky and they’re going to sink in the ocean they’re going to die–
Friede bites his lips, nails biting into the palm of his hands as he hunches over. His vision darkens, white sparks flashing behind closed eyelids from how tightly he squeezes them shut. His shaky legs stumble back, and he trips over nothing before he falls heavily onto his bed. A soft cry slips out when pain erupts from the back of his head as it smacks against the wall but he barely registers it. He’s too busy fighting back the stupid panic clawing at his chest, knowing that he’s being an idiot cause he’s fine, they’re all fine and well and present and they discussed on what to do so there’s no reason to dwell on it anymore.
Yet his ever traitorous mind keeps spinning what-ifs, of scenarios gone horribly, tragically wrong. People he’d have to contact, to comfort, to accept all the vitriol and hate from because he’s the leader so all of their safety should have been his top priority. Friede trusts his friends explicitly but he imagines they’d have regretted placing their trust on him. Can visually see their fear and terror and despair over having followed him in the first place cause now it’ll result in their untimely end.
Friede’s eyes burn. Amidst the sharp panic, he distantly feels a bitter anger growing in himself, at himself, and it’s not helping any. His chest hurt, his head ached, his everything is one giant mass of agony. He hates it. Hates it so so much cause now he’s being reminded just how much it hurts to be afraid.
Above all else, Friede is afraid. Terrified. He’s faced the world with reckless abandon that seeing how his world can easily crumble is a harsh smack to the face.
He whines softly. Unsure whether the chill he feels now is real, Friede still tries to pull his blanket up to cover himself, hoping that the soft fabric is able to secure him in a way that he’s incapable of. His shaky hands struggle to get a solid grip, and for some reason, this small inconvenience is what finally made the tears bubble over.
Arceus, this is such a stupid thing to cry over. (In between choked sobs, he fights for air). Friede’s just making a mountain out of an Excadrill hill. (He’s convinced he’s drowning). Everyone’s fine. (He feels lightheaded). The ship is grounded and in need of repairs but with Orla’s handiwork, it’ll be fit to sail in no time. (Black spots dances around his vision). He’s fine so why is he–?
“Friede!”
Warm hands gently enveloped his tight fists. A soft voice gently shushes into his ears.
“It’s going to be alright.” One of his hands is maneuvered into pressing against a soft surface. Vaguely, he feels the gentle rise and fall beneath his palm.
“Try and follow my breathing, okay?”
As he blinks waterlogged eyes, the orange blob slowly sharpens into a familiar face. It’s Orla, sweet, kind Orla who’s looking at him with such soft concern in her eyes.
Friede doesn’t deserve it. She would have been in the engine room, the first place that would’ve exploded had the ship crashed. The thought causes his breath to hitch, triggering a fit of watery coughs that renewed his tears.
“O-Orla,” he gasps. “I’m–I’m so s-sorry–”
“Shh, none of that now,” Orla gently shushes him. “Just focus on my breathing, okay? I know you can do it. In… Out… In… Out…”
He still desperately wants to apologize but the want to appease her is stronger. So Friede tries his best to follow along. He feels her drawing in a long, deep breath, holding it for a few seconds before slowly exhaling. Orla repeats this for the next couple of minutes, purposefully exaggerating the sound of each inhale and exhale so Friede can more easily follow along.
Friede focuses everything into following along, and soon enough he’s doing it more of his own volition than simply copying Orla’s motions. Slowly but surely, his mind winds down from the nigh high panic it was in before. At some point, one of Orla’s hands gently settles on the nape of his sweaty neck, easing his head down into resting atop her chest.
Orla’s steady heartbeat further grounds him. It enables him to focus on the fact that she’s alive, unlike what his mind tries to claim earlier. Friede sighs quietly, frozen in this position for what feels like hours until Orla speaks up.
“Hey, are you back with me now?”
“Yeah,” he mouths, then clears his throat to say in a steadier voice. “Yeah, ‘m good now.”
Orla hums in response, and while she seems content to leave him like this for as long as he wants, Friede now feels the deep pangs of shame hitting him. Biting his inner cheek, he slowly pushes himself off of Orla, quickly turning his head to swipe at his eyes. It’s a feeble attempt of regaining back his tattered pride, not when a brief glance at her showcases the evidence of his breakdown on her shirt.
“So… I’d ask if you’re alright but–” Orla gestures lightly between the two of them. “–I’m guessing that’s not the case.”
“I’m sorry,” Friede coughs, feelings his cheeks burn in embarrassment. “I–I didn’t expect you to…”
“Oh, Cap came to get me,” Orla says, sporting a faint smile. “He seems–insistent that I follow him, so I did. And I’m glad.”
Right, Cap would do that. His partner always looked out for him, and in a situation where he’s unable to Volt Tackle his way through, it’s reasonable to assume that he’ll seek out someone who can deal with the issue.
Friede’s grateful, even if it’s something that he’ll realize much later. Right now, he’s battling both shame and exhaustion. His brows furrow from the stress of it all, but they smoothed out when Orla pressed her finger against his forehead.
“I can practically hear the gears turning in that big noggin’ of yours,” she states. “Whatever it is, stop it. I know you’re going to just work yourself up again.”
Her light tone manages to make the corners of his lip quirk up. Friede’s eyes shift downwards and to the right, unable to properly meet her gaze.
“Heh, you know me well.” The faint smile drops moments later. He’s quiet for awhile, and Orla seems to understand that he needs time to regroup his thoughts. Once again, Friede’s grateful, even if there’s a part of him that thinks it’s undeserved.
“Look, with what happened today…” Friede swallows through the heavy lump in his throat. “It… it could’ve ended up a lot worse than it did. I’m sorry, it’s all my fau–hey!”
The sudden flick to his forehead cuts off his apology. Friede instinctively covers the sting with his hand, looking confused at Orla.
Orla gazes back, nods once before lowering her hand. She crosses her arms. “Sorry but it sounded to me that you were trying to apologize for something that was completely out of your power.”
“But–”
“Nu-uh. All of us agreed to go. We all understood the risks of going up against the Explorers and Rayquaza.”
“Yes, but–”
“What happened was something no one could’ve expected. The ship suffered damage but everyone got out of it safely, did we not?”
“Yeah but it–”
“Should be all that matters, yes? Then I don’t see why–”
“Because you all trusted me, okay!?” Friede doesn’t mean to raise his voice but it does surprise Orla into silence. He covers half of his face with his hand, heaving out a deep sigh. “I’m the captain of the Rising Volt Tacklers. All of you trusted me and that trust nearly got you all killed.”
Friede closes his eyes, unwilling to see what kind of expression Orla makes. That only serves to make him vulnerable to the next flick on his forehead, this one seemingly harder than the last.
“Ow! Why do you keep doing that!?” Friede’s a bit annoyed now, gaze narrowing at Orla.
“It’s because someone’s being an idiot right now,” Orla replies, meeting his eyes with an unimpressed look of her own. “Look, do you trust me to make sure the ship’s engine runs smoothly?”
“Yeah?” Despite the confused note to it, he responds without any hesitation.
“Do you trust Mollie to look after the Pokemon in the event of an emergency?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay, then do you trust Murdock to steer the ship in the event that you’re unable to?”
“Of course.”
“So we trusted you to look after the kids and deal with whatever trouble that came their way, simple as that,” Orla concluded. “I can confidently say that as infuriating as you can get, no one here regrets trusting you Friede.”
Stunned into silence, he remains still when Orla reaches out to bump her fist against his chest. “So put you trust in that at least.”
Friede stares down at the fist. Abruptly, he exhales deeply, shoulders dropping. “Alright, you made your point Orla.”
When she puts it like that, Friede can’t help but think his previous thoughts were silly. It deepens the embarrassment he feels earlier, though he also feels like a weight has been lifted off of his shoulders. At the same time, the physical and emotional exhaustion of today hits him like a full bodied Volt Tackle.
“I think it’s better for you to get some rest,” Orla gently suggests. Friede thinks he nodded at her suggestion, though it’s hard to tell when it feels like his head is stuffed with cotton. There seems to be hands helping him lay down, and when his head hits the pillow, his blanket is covering him.
“Mmm… but I still gotta…”
“Shh… don’t worry about everything.” A gentle hand settles over his forehead, slowly sliding down till it covers his eyes. “Just rest. Trust us to keep everything safe, okay?”
Trust. That’s something he can do.

" Are you sure the QZ is up here? " I ask, shivers running down my spine. I shrink into my dirt covered jacket, seeking any sort of warmth. My legs ache, a mixture of the cold and the distance. My feet more and more frozen with each step.
" It should be. " Abby shouts over the raging wind.
For a moment, I think I hear doubt in her voice. It could be the wind though. I'm not sure.
Her eyes are the only things visible on her face, everything else covered by a snow covered scarf. She covers her eyes, trying to see through the blinding white. " Fuck. " She seethes, frustration sizzling off of her tense body. She turns to face me. " I-I don't fucking know where we're going. I can't see anything. I think we need to find shelter until this storm clears up. "
Her voice is mumbled and her barely visible eyes avoid mine. Like she's embarrassed of possibly leading me wrong.
" I agree. " I nod stiffly. " I'm freezing my ass off. " I look around us, trying to see anything that could keep us safe. " Over there! " I point a blurry dark object a few feet away. " I think that might be a building. "
I grab ahold of Abby's arm, dragging her in the direction of the object. As we grow closer, the object becomes more clear. It's a wall. With Abby's arm still tightly secure in my left hand, I plant my other hand against the wall. Carefully, we follow the wall further down the street.
Finally we stumble across a faded door.
I try opening it.
Of course it's stuck. I let out frustrated groan.
" Let me get it. " Abby gently pushes me out of the way. She pulls a small tin box out of her bag. She quickly takes off her gloves before moving closer to the door. She takes out a few tiny tools, wiggling them around in the key hole. She twists the door handle and the door swings open from the force of the wind.
Abby moves to the side, letting me get inside before closing the door tightly behind her.
As soon as the door is closed, the noise dies down. I turn on my flashlight, also pulling out my knife in case something is in here.
Abby gestures at me to search the left side of the abandoned shop while she goes right.
The store is ransacked. I'm not sure how they got in here, but it's completely trashed. Clothes are spilled all over the floor along with shards of glass and mysterious stains.
Thankfully the store is clear.
I feel my shoulders start to relax as I walk back the direction I came from.
Abby sits in the corner of the shop. Abby is hidden from the window by a few racks of clothes. Her pack is against the dusty wall, her bottle of water leaning against it.
The room is mostly dark, the only light coming from a few windows on the other side of the shop. I take a seat next to Abby, trying to warm my pain filled hands.
Abby sets a thick, fluffy jacket on my lap. " Found this for you. " She mutters.
I send her a grateful smile. " Thank you. " I pull the coat on top of my other jacket, zipping it up the best I can. Before I can think about it, my stomach lets out an angry growl.
I pull open my wet backpack, shuffling the contents around. I pull out a small clear package. Empty.
I was hoping we would get to the QZ by now. Looks like I'm gonna have to wait until tomorrow. Hopefully we can get out of here soon.
" You hungry? " Abby's voice cuts through the air.
I turn towards the muscular woman. " Uh-Yeah. It's alright though, I'm sure we'll find something soon. " I say, mostly trying to comfort myself.
Abby pulls out a small blue package. It's folded neatly so the contents don't spill. When she opens it up, the words 'Blue Diamond' are revealed. " Here, take a few. " She offers.
I shake my head. " I can't take your food, Abs. " I should've rationed better, this is my fault. " I'll be fine. We'll get food soon. " I gently push her hand away.
Abby insists. " Please, just take some. You're right, we'll find more soon. That's why it doesn't matter if I save it all. " She grabs my hand, sending a fluttering sensation through my stomach.
Abby drops a handful of almonds into my palm. " Eat. Please. "
Her eyes show a hint of worry.
" Are you sure? " I ask, feeling guilty about taking her food.
" Yes, " She nods. " I've never been so sure. Eat. "
Abby watches as I place an almond in my mouth, savoring the salty flavor.
Abby pops an almond into her mouth, leaning against the wall next to me. For a few minutes we sit in silence. The sound of howling wind pounds against the windows.
" Thank you, again, Abby. " I look at the woman.
" Of course. Anything for you, "
