One thing I think the books do not address enough is what happened to the “real” callum hunt. How does call feel about this? How does Alastair feel about this? Does Alastair ever think about his dead son - even though he considers call his son, does he ever think about what happened? I think that there’s a lot of complex topics to be found in the books such as are you accountable for the sins in your past life, is call actually Constantine, etc. Not saying that call is “not Alastair’s son” per se but he/Constantine did in fact kill a whole ass child and it’s a rlly interesting aspect of the plot that I’m disappointed it never got talked about. I love complex/taboo topics and characters in fiction so saying that call “killed a child” is not necessarily a bad thing (I don’t necessarily mean it in a bad way and I don’t hate Call as a character is what I mean💀). Actually I think it gives more nuance and complexity to his character and in regards to how the edges between Call and Constantine are blurred. Also this is how Sarah and Alastair differ. Sarah was dead set on not raising him as her child whereas Alastair decided to raise him - I wonder what was going through his mind and if he ever thought about his first son. If this topic had been explored it could’ve had a theme similar to House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland if anyone’s read that. Very interesting family and parent-child dynamics. In the book the daughter is a changeling and has essentially killed and replaced her mothers real daughter. The mom knows all along about what happened. The girl asks her mom, “How can you love me after what I did?” Or something along that line. The mother says “I raised you for all these years - how can I not consider you my daughter?” Would have been interesting to see an interaction of that sort between Alastair and call. I wish they had talked about it. Would’ve been interesting if call had asked his father if he ever thinks about his first son
#erm anyways#yea the book still has a death grip on me.#stupid ass series I became obsessed with in grade 7#magisterium#txt#callum hunt#constantine madden#alastair hunt

💖 rough kiss / hot and heavy / making out
please👉👈
oh anon, i am definitely the wrong person for this one, but here goes nothing:
- - - - - -
Lena has a secret.
No, it isn't that she’s doubling as a superhero in her free time. That’s Kara.
And no, it isn't that she has an unquenchable crush on her best friend. They'd solved that eons ago.
And definitely no, it isn’t that her toy collection is extensive and well-stocked. Everyone at game night already knows about that.
The secret went like this:
“What are you doing?”
“Nothing,” Lena replied with the innocence of a Luthor.
“So it just so happens that the bartender who has been making eyes at you all night is now being sized-up by my sister?”
“Correlation without causation. I thought you were a scientist,” Lena shrugged and tried her best to conceal a knowing smile.
“Uh-huh,” Alex replied with an arched eyebrow that said much more. “And that fact he grabbed your ass on the way to the bathroom?”
“Doesn’t ring a bell.”
“Well I for one am not about to do a bunch of paperwork over an NDA because Kara can’t keep it together over this ass-hat groping you, so if you will excuse me-”
- - - -
And this:
“Hey babe?”
“Hm?”
“What’s this?”
Lena looked up from her work and squinted at the letter gripped in Kara’s hand.
“Oh, it’s nothing. Just some administrative stuff,” Lena hummed and returned to her work.
“Doesn’t look like ‘nothing’. It looks like you were served.”
The scowl that followed was one that could be seen from space which meant it was impossible to ignore from across their apartment. Lena rolled her eyes.
“It’s just Morgan Edge playing bully again, darling.”
“Yea but,” Kara continued, eyes skimming the multi-page document that now had a few extra crinkles in it. “He’s suing for patent rights? Who does he think he is-”
“It’s nothing, really. I’ll handle it tomorrow.”
“You shouldn’t have to handle it in the first place.”
“It’s fine. Let’s just-”
But Kara was already gone through the terrace door and halfway across the city.
- - - -
And most of all, this:
“Ms. Luthor, The Sun has accused you of covering up nearly a dozen fatalities since-”
“Lena Luthor, it has been alleged that Obsidian North’s stolen technology was found in L-Corp’s latest-”
“Ms. Luthor, how do you explain the recent deaths associated with-”
“How do you sleep at night when your maniac brother is still on the loose-”
“No comment,” Lena repeated for the eighteenth time. She pushed ahead, trying to find a path between L-Corp’s front door and the waiting car that would take her home. Unfortunately, the best path was also the longest. Worse, when she looked ahead, her car was nowhere to be found. What she did find was wall-to-wall traffic and no chance of freedom.
Great.
More questions were hurled, a flash sent blotches across her vision. Another came an inch away and sent her staggering. It felt like a garbage compactor except worse because garbage compactors weren’t sentient creatures known for shouting lies while doing its job.
She clambered through the crowd and found a gap. She glanced around for her security guard who was lost amidst a second offshoot of angry journalists and misinformed citizens. Now wasn’t the time for manners as three journalists and an oversized camera pivoted toward her, so instead of waiting, she booked it down the sidewalk.
They followed with vigor and ignorance and a stubbornness that would have made Lillian proud, shouting rather uncreative conspiracy theories and growing closer by the second. Lena turned a corner then, in a move she might have patted herself on the back for, slipped into an alley. She breathed a sigh of relief until-
“Ms. Luthor-”
“Lena Luthor-”
“-you can’t hide from the truth.”
“Oh for fuck’s sake,” Lena heaved, staggering backwards in the kind of stereotypical way she mocked television shows for.
The cameraman was fastest, breaking into her personal space and jamming the lens into her face.
“Ms. Luthor-”
“-is it true Supergirl won’t speak to you?”
“-how does it feel having National City’s Darling reject you?”
What happened next might have been comical if Lena weren’t breathless, irritated, and fuming that her anniversary dinner was being interrupted by a wave of wannabe reporters hanging onto the coattails of the marketing dollars that funded their tabloids.
Be that as it was, she was not in her usual smirky-mood when the burst of air sent all of them turning on heel to find an equally irritated and equally fuming Supergirl towering over them with the kind of anger usually reserved for the extra-bad baddies.
“S-supergirl,” they all seemed to whimper in unison.
The camera was fumbled then dropped. The lens splintered with a deserved crack. A few short seconds later, it was the only evidence anyone with a press badge had been there.
“Where’d you take them?” Lena asked when Kara whooshed down moments later. She pushed off the brick wall and closed the distance, raising her hands to fix Kara’s ruffled cape.
“I considered the middle of the Pacific-” Kara shrugged.
“Oh is that right?” Lena smirked, letting her hands climb to brush an errant strand of hair into place.
“But then I remembered the whole ‘hope, help, and compassion’ thing,” she continued, her own hands finding a home on Lena’s waist. “So I dropped them off just outside the city limits instead.”
And there it was: the secret. Somewhere between Kara, all beet-faced and rage hovering over the cowering reporters and then dragging said group of gaggling reporters to the edges of town, Lena felt it - that tiny pang of warmth and safety and appreciation that always came with her overprotective Kryptonian. It also usually sent a tiny pang of something else through her.
“Well that was very big of you,” Lena replied, the gap between lips narrowing. “But just so you know,” she continued, her breath ghosting across Kara’s lips, “I had it handled-”
Kara skipped her lines and closed the gap, pressing lips, hands, and body against Lena until her back found the brick wall again and nothing but the taste, touch, and smell of Kara consumed her. Lips dragged to Lena’s jawline then neck then exposed shoulder. Hands grabbed against the restrictions of fabric. Lena cursed (again) the constraints of a supersuit.
“I really need to design you a new suit,” Lena huffed.
“Probably for the best.” Kara replied, fingers venturing dangerously close to public indecency. “Alex says we need to leave before someone sees us anyway.”
“Tell Alex to stop committing voyeurism. There are websites for that.”
“Oh, she did not like that,” Kara snickered, lips pressing a final kiss to the crook of Lena’s neck.
“Turn that thing off and take me home, Supergirl.”
“What about our reservations?”
“I have other dinner plans tonight.”
- - - - -
ask game
#I headcanon that Lena secretly likes when Kara gets overprotective of her not because it causes a scene but because it reinforces the feelin#which was like. kind of definitely missing from her childhood#the make-out sessions that follow aren’t too bad either#the dinner that follows the make-out session aren't too bad either either#anon#qs with quinn#ask game

CHAPTER 1- Prowler Miles X Deadpool(fem) Reader
Taglist: @bath1lda @niktwazny303 @sorryi-mtrash
“ So we meet again!” Said a dark and mysterious voice “oh my, please stay away! “ yelled the poor girl. “NEVER YOUR MINEE!!” he yelled Slashing her in the stomach before laughing crazily.
“BAHAHAHAHA!!!!” “Y/N!” ‘oops, remember to keep quiet or you're in trouble but know that old man needs me’ thought the girl who is seen to be laying in her bed before she gets up to respond to the call.
“Coming father” she says up the stairs in a meek tone different from the tone she used to read her book or to even talk to herself. “Hurry, I have a mission for you”He responds to her in an authoritative tone. She makes it up the stairs and into a living area different from the one her room is in. This is where her mother and older brother live while she sleeps in the laboratory.
Coming into the living area to see her Father sitting on the couch, that was across from the family picture. ‘Well their family picture, as she has been in any of these pictures’. “Yes father, I heard you say you have a mission for me” She tells him looking to the ground as if looking at her father would kill her if she dared.
“Yes I have a mission for you, and that little assassin I hired is coming with you” He tells her, still looking at her as if he dared her to defy his orders. “Yes sir, I understand, I'll get ready and leave as soon as possible.”
“Don't worry about getting ready its a stealth mission and you need to look normally, your weapons are in a bag by the bike in the garage, Get them, meet at the street linked on the bike, and wait till the event starts and the assassin gets there,” “ yes father” “Good now get out” “yes father.” The young girl says bowing then walking back down to the garage to her bike and seeing the bag.
‘Awe great this is going to be a boring mission’ she thought, getting on the bike ready to drive away. But then she remembers something that makes her smile like the moon has eyes `My coffee bean is going to be there and I don't have to come back here after the mission, so I can spend the rest of the night with him, YEEEAAAHHH!!” she screams riding on her bike down the street.
‘Tonight is going to be a great night’ she thought.
TIME SKIP TO THE EVENT
“Copy that uncle Aaron” the boy says to his communicator, “yea, ad boss man says your girl is going to be there too, make sure you watch after her man” his uncle tells him. His uncle knows one thing that when they're both together that girl would never get hurt, even if she can heal.
“Yea I see her i'll tell you how we do '' He tells his uncle completely ignoring what his uncle said about calling her his girl. "All right and remember to knock out or kill anyone in the way of killing that little traitor, understood” “yeah understood” as the boy says these words and cuts off the communicator with his uncle he goes to the edge of the roof he’s on and jumps sliding down the walls using his claws, and drops into an alley.
“MILLLEESSS!!” He hears behind him, he sighs before opening his arms as if he was waiting for something. And soon that something jumps and appears in his arms hugging him with a death grip and legs wrapped around him. “I’ve missed you” she says to him looking down to his peacock eyes, while rubbing his braids.
“Yea me too princesa hermosa, also we saw each other yesterday, we had a mission” he tells before putting her down on the ground and looking at her outfit. “Te ves tan hermosa” “what's that mean” he chuckles at her and remembers she sometimes forgets that she is fluent in 7 languages. “You know” he says but then he sees their target and his whole mood changes. A few seconds ago they were laughing then he gets all dark and mysterious when people are around or if they're handling a mission and right now it's the latter.
“You ready” he tells her, getting his claw ready while she takes her guns out the bag she brought, “as ready as ever sweet lips” “stop” “OK, right mission time first.”
“Ohh this is going to be fun” she says smirking, looking down at all the men who seemed to be in their way, then seeing the target. Her eyes look at them darkly with her smirk becoming dangerous.
She kisses her guns, “Real Fun.”

Devil May Cry - #18 - Betrayal
*
“Hell yea!” Nero cried as he sliced through one of the remaining demons.
Dante cursed. “No. This isn’t over. There are still three more. Vergil, don’t you fucking touch the last ones, I need to beat the kid.”
Nero was already dashing towards the closest of the remaining three. “Fat chance of that, old man.”
Dante glared over at him. “Respect your elders, you brat. Watch and learn.”
They each took down a demon. The remaining one let out a furious roar and charged at Vergil.
Nero slammed into the side of it. “Nope, asshole.”
Vergil watched them, arms crossed. He’d allowed the two of them to let loose on the swarm of demons, knowing the one they were truly after would emerge once these lesser ones had fallen.
Nero and Dante delivered the fatal blow simultaneously. The demon fell dead, and Nero threw a triumphant fist in the air.
“I won!” he said, grinning over at Dante. “You owe me fifty dollars.”
Dante groaned. “C’mon, I don’t even have enough money to keep the lights in my place on.”
“Not my problem. Fifty, by tomorrow.”
“Cruel as your father,” Dante said, shaking his head. “Knock some manners into your boy, will you?”
Vergil ignored him, unsheathing his sword as the demon they were after finally emerged, snarling at them. Dante and Nero glanced at each other and grinned.
“Want in on this one?” Nero offered to Vergil.
Vergil did not look at the boy, instead dashing forward at the demon. Nero rolled his eyes and ran after Vergil.
“Take that as a yes,” he called over.
The three worked in easy harmony to take the demon down. Vergil finished it off with a powerful slash when Nero distracted it for him. The three came to stand together, watching the demon go still in death.
“Teamwork makes the dream work,” Dante said.
“You still owe me money,” Nero said. “Kyrie made dinner tonight, though. Vergil, you coming? I, uh, found this book of poems when I was out with the kids yesterday. Thought you might…like it?”
It was now or never, because if Nero said another word, Vergil might just regret this.
“Huh?” Nero said, dazed, looking down.
The Yamato pierced right through him, glowing with power as it recognized a descendent. Vergil could not look in Nero’s eyes, instead focusing on the blade.
“Vergil?” Dante’s voice was part alarm, part shock.
Nero reached a shaky hand to the blade, gripping it. Blood ran down his hand.
He looked up at Vergil with wide, hurt eyes. “Why?”
Vergil thought of his desperation back when he’d torn Nero’s arm off to reclaim this very sword. Nero had survived that, but he would not survive this.
Vergil drove the blade up to the hilt in Nero’s gut. Nero coughed up blood, his shaky hand now going to Vergil’s shoulder to keep himself from falling over.
Dante slashed at Vergil with his own sword, but Vergil swung and used Nero as a shield. Dante pulled his blow at the last second, stumbling off balance. Vergil shifted quickly again, kicking the sword from Dante’s hands and slamming fist into his face, knocking him back.
He had to do this. He had to. It was the only way to reclaim the power he’d once had. If he absorbed Nero’s demonic essence into the Yamato, he’d be unstoppable. Even Dante could not defeat him with that kind of power.
Where has power ever gotten you before?
What else did he have? He had pursued it for so long, he did not know how to do anything else.
A thoughtful son and a loving brother were alien to him. He was much more used to the betrayal on Nero’s face and the hatred on Dante’s.
He dragged the blade up Nero’s body, ever closer to his heart, and Nero let out a choked, pain noise. He gripped Vergil’s shoulder tighter.
It’s not too late. You can eat dinner at his house and read the book he bought for you.
He could still remember his time as nothing more than a slave to Mundus. He could remember his home crumbling before his helpless eyes. He could remember Dante beating him time and time again.
He could not stand to be weak. He would rather be hated and alone than weak and hurt.
He dragged the blade up and ended his son’s life.
And when Dante came at him with a furious, despaired scream, Vergil knew this was a fight he had sacrificed everything to win.

Bruno and reader also had three kids: Mateo, first born, who has levitation gift, same age as Isabella and Dolores (21); Alondra, middle child, who has a gift of what she paints can became real, same age as Luisa (19); and Diego, yougest, has a time traveling gift, same age as mirabel, and camilo (15).

part 1 part 2
" 'Teo?" [Name] called out holding decorations for her nephew's ceremony, the said boy answered with a hum, "have you seen Diego? I can't find him in his room."
The oldest child of Bruno: Mateo's eyes widen at the statement. "Ahh, he told me he took Pablo out for a... walk! Yea."
"Rats don't need walks, and I thought he likes Pablo because they both hate outside?"
The boy cursed through his teeth, not wanting to be caught, he tried to make another excuse, his grip on the book tightening. "He um.. he—" on queue, his sister: Alondra, walk past them holding her painting equipment. The dark-haired boy took this opportunity to pass the situation to his sister. "Alondra! She knows where Diego went!"
The girl's ears perked up with the sound of her name, shooting her brother with a confused look. Mateo signaled her to make an excuse, so she did. "I got him stuck in a wall, 'cause he's being annoying again."
"Of course, you did," the [eye. color] shook her head smiling to herself. "can you get him for me, Mija?"
"Sì Mamà, but it might take a while. I forgot which wall it was."
[Name] chuckled at her daughter's words, "okay, but make it quick. We need him to make a portal, we don't want abuela to get mad." She continued her way but stops when she remembers something. "Oh, and 'Teo? Can you help your Tìa with the cooking?"
"Sure! See you later, Mamà!"
"Also, put coins on the swear jar, I heard that!" She replied, making the oldest groan.
The two siblings stared at their mother as she quickly gave the banner to Jose with Antonio's name.
"How is he still not back?? We're gonna get in trouble for this!" The [hair. color] harshly whispered to her older brother who had a concerned look.
"Don't worry, he'll be back. We just have to wait for him, that's all we can do for now. By the way, can I borrow some money?"
~~
Time traveling can be useful but also a handful. Finding out why their father left is not as easy as it may seem. Diego can't mess up the timeline, or everything won't go according to plan.
The plan is simple, he needs to find clues why his father left, and where will he be if he's still alive.
He didn't think of anything like this. How come his sweet loving mother, brutally punched a guy two times her size.
He never knew his mother was such a pain in the head, he never knew his father was such a coward. The teen stood frozen in place, right before him is his mother's past self: [name]— absolutely destroying some guy's face.
Disobeying is his natural habit, but he means well. All he needs is information about his father's whereabouts, The boy didn't expect chaos in front of him.
Wait, is that... Señor Torres— what!? He'll die if Mamì continues like this, he can't die! It will mess up the timeline! Wait, no. I'm not supposed to be here so, I'm not supposed to interfere.
The teen forced himself to stay at his place, as expected, the townspeople are trying to get the [hair. color] off the guy, but she stayed.
"[Name]! Por favor, he had enough!"
"He needs to learn his lesson, Bruno!"
"He learned it well! [Name]!"
This is bad, very bad. We need someone strong... Luisa! Wait no, she's not born yet... what to do, what to do... Tìa! TÌA PEPA!!
The dark-haired boy sprinted around the town, which is smaller than he thought. He came across his tìa Julieta's stand and didn't hesitate to rush over. He saw a younger version of Julieta as well as Agustin, who dislocated his shoulder from rolling down a mountain.
"Tì— Julieta! Julieta, [name]'s in trouble!" He silently cringe to himself when he called them out by their names, feeling like a disrespectful child for not calling them Tìa or Mamì.
"Bruno? What do you mean? Where is she??"
Bruno? I'm not Bruno‐ do I really look like that twig???
"She's by señ-" he cleared his throat, trying to mask up to his mistake. "She's by The Torres residence."
"Alright, I'll go get Pepa, be sure to not be seen by Mamà."
Pepa and Julieta arrived at the right moment, and escort them to la casita. He eavesdropped on their conversation, trying to gather information. His heart softens at how caring his mother is, the boy can't help but feel anger at him for leaving her.
"Good thing, Bruno found me just in time." Diego heard Tìa's words as she place a meal in both of his parent's hands.
he knew he messed up, he's not supposed to help, but he did. A small wrong gesture can get an entire town destroyed, the butterfly effect is something he feared.
"Me? I'm right next to [nickname] the entire time."
Shoot! Please ignore it, ignore iiiiiit.
"Really?" Julieta hum in thought she was sure she saw him running to her with a panicked expression. "I may have been seeing things."
YES, DÌOS, BLESS YOU WITH EVERYTHING IN THIS WORLD!
Diego send a thankful flying kiss at the sky before he continued his eavesdropping until he heard the younger version of his parents flirt with each other. He shifted uncomfortably, not wanting to be there anymore, he made a portal out of the sand, to go back to his present time.
Diego groaned as he climbed out of the portal to his room where he collects sand.
What did I do to deserve this punishment?? it's beEN A MONTH! NO CLUE ABOUT PAPA!!
Dusting himself, he dragged his feet out of the room of sand into his actual bedroom. The youngest witnessed his older siblings feeding his pet rat: Pablo on top of his bed before they turned to the sound of an opened door.
"Where were you?? Do you know how long you've been gone? Mamà is looking for you!" Alondra was the first one to speak up.
"Can I at least take a rest for a minute??" He protested, laying on his bed, still processing what just happened.
"Talk to Mamà first, she was getting worried, you've been gone for almost an hour."
Mamà, that word sends shivers down his spine as he recalls the events he just witness.
"You seem shaken, did you find information about Papà's disappearance?" The oldest pointed out, scooting closer, ready to hear what happen.
"No, I just... witnessed something unexpected."
The girl made a disgusted expression, "Dios Mio if this is about Papà and Mamà doing‐"
"No! No, no, no, no, ew." He gagged at the memory he caught his parents doing the thing when he accidentally made a portal at the time they were doing it. "Please, not a word about that."
"Then what did you see?"
"An attempted murder."
The two's olive eyes widen at the statement. "I never knew Papà can be so violent," the oldest mutter, disappointment plastered on his features.
"Not Papì, Mamì!— She almost killed someone!" He throws his hands around, still in disbelief. "I just want a moment to process things, can I have a nap?"
"You can, but Mamà will bring the chancla on us again." Alondra chuckled at her own joke.
A knock interrupted their conversation and speaking of the devil, [name] peeked into the room before beaming when she saw her little ones. Well, not so little anymore.
"There you guys are, I've checked your rooms you're not there. Antonio's ceremony is gonna start after two hours, the kids are looking for you!" She announced, before walking out, leaving the door open. "Especially you, 'Teo. Gabriela is looking for you~" the woman teased, a smirk plastered on her features.
"She is?" He inquired, eyes lighting up. "Get up, Dee! Let's go!"
"Jeez, can't get enough with your girlfriend." Still laying, Diego raises his arms. "Carry me."
The dark-haired rolls his eyes, before using bringing his hand up—his hand as well as his younger brother light up with bright green luminescence. The young adult carried him out of the room before he heard a complaint.
"Carry me too, you owe me an excuse and 20 peso coins."
Party was overwhelming. For Alondra, that is. Firstly, people can't understand the meaning of personal space. Second, her hand hurts from drawing so many objects as well as small living things like bunnies, butterflies, etc. Shrugging her shoulders to get the handoff—of a stranger her age, she smiled awkwardly while gripping hard on her sketchbook, before going to the nearest family member which is: Agustin.
"Aye, 'Londra!" The tall man greeted with a smile, "how's the party?"
"I hate parties." she blandly replied, getting the man beside her to laugh. "my wrist and fingers hurt, I hate it here."
"you usually stayed on the corner, I'm surprised you're interacting with the townspeople!"
"Tonito wants me to make friends and since it's his special day, I'm trying my best for him," she stated, trying to crack her fingers and letting out a satisfied sigh once she did. "I never knew people are like this."
"well, you'll get used to it! You can tell them if you feel uncomfortable, they'll adjust for you—" Agustin's voice faded when Alondra's attention shifted to the second floor of la casa Madrigal, she was certain she saw a motion by the plants near it—it was big so the girl figured it couldn't be a Rat.
The painting next to Dolores's room moved. No, it didn't swing like any painting would, it opened like a door, even though the movement is so small and unnoticeable, the [hair. color] can see it well and clear.
"Alondra, Tìa [name] wants to see you," Dolores announced, subconsciously looking at the painting, which the girl found suspicious.
"Okay? I'll go there now." As she strolled down the path, the girl can't help but think about the thing she saw upstairs.
"Hey, you were called too?" Turning to her left, she saw her two brothers before nodding in conformation. They looked around, and finally find their mother at the dining area, with a... man?
"Oh, come on now, Hermosa. Your husband's not here, he disappeared 10 years ago! You're free and you know it~" the man kissed [name]'s hand, she was clearly uncomfortable, and angry. Very angry.
The youngest looked mortified, as he saw his mother's fist balled uptight, her clenched jaw, as well as her stiff posture.
She's gonna kill him, oh no. No no no no, we can't ruin 'Tonio's first and only gift ceremony... run while you can man, you'll die here!
"Mamì," He called, Diego could see her relaxed a bit and greeted them with a smile.
"Mijo, Mija! You're here! Lo Siento, Liam but my children need me." As soon as she turned away, the guy 'Liam' pulled her back.
"Don't turn me down, amor! Just think about it, you've been alone for 10 years, I'm the best you've got!"
"I don't need a man in my life, so please let go before I break your—"
"Mamà! Let's go now, vámonos!" Mateo grabbed hold of her shoulders, leading her away from the man who huffs at them.
"Thank you, Mijo. That guy could not take a hint!" The woman scoffed, motioning her fingers like she's crushing something, making her youngest gulp at sight. "Why are you all here? I only called one of you."
"Dolores said you want to see me when I was minding my own business," Alondra answered, her emerald-like eyes trailed back to the painting.
"Me too, Is it just me or the rats are trying to get to that painting?" Diego pointed out, eyes are also on the same painting his sister is staring at. "Pablo came running to it, I tried to stop him but 'Lores called out on me." ('Lores is short for Dolores.)
"Let's not think too much, mi Corazon. Tonight is for Antonio, you guys can do the exploring tomorrow."
~~
I never knew there are so many stars.
Diego is on his mission once again, he sat on top of a tree, having a clear view of his mother and father's younger selves. Not gonna lie, he was enjoying it.
The two are laying on the so-called field that his mother always talks about, saying how clear the sky is when it's dark, the constellations above them, not to mention the fireflies surrounding the place.
It was enchanting.
He made sure to be out of sight but still close to hearing their conversation. The youngest was told to not eavesdrop, he can't help but feel guilty every time he did.
"So, who do you love?" [Name] asked, looking straight at Bruno, a tiny smile that resembles her sisters is showing.
"Oh, uh... you know her very well actually..."
"Really? What's her name then?"
"I— I can't tell you.."
"Why not? You know I hate guessing games."
"I know, that's why it's a guessing game!" The future-teller exclaims the girl groans at the statement. "She's very... pretty."
"Is it... Sofia?" Looking at her friend with an excited expression, thinking she got it right.
"No! I don't like her that way, plus she hates me. The girl I like is kind, brave, and such a lovely person."
"Kind, brave... lovely... Oh! Is it Palmora?? It's her, right?? She's kind, brave, and not to mention very lovely!"
Palmora?? Señora Palmora??? THE LADY WHO HIT ME IN THE HEAD??! YOU CALL THAT KIND—
Diego lightly scoffs, she can't be kind. She hits him with her fan when he accidentally bumps into her!
"No! Not her, She always gives me these weird looks, I hate it.."
"What?? Come on bub, how is it not her? There are no more girls that are lovely, brave, and kind! Or wait... is she, Yolanda?? Not sure about brave though."
"No, she's not her. Yolanda is kind, and lovely too. But I like someone else." He stared at her like she's a goddess that came down to earth, well technically in his eyes, she is.
MAMÌ CAN'T YOU SEE HIM GIVING YOU HEART EYES RIGHT NOW???
"Okay fine, one more hint!" [Name] exclaimed, laughing a little as a tiny firefly landed on top of her friend's nose.
"Shoo, shoo! Okay, she's..." he hesitated, but still continue. "My best friend for 2 years."
Not this again, I've heard this a hundred times! Mamì knows it's her, then they flirted on the way back, I hate my life. Why am I doing here?? I need to go forward.
The dark-haired boy silently climbed down the tree before doing another portal, this time a different timeline.
Diego was out again into the same place, same starry night, same field, same tree. The only difference is the time, 2 years after their moment.
He saw his parents' past selves, sat on the same spot, the boy noticed that they have different looks, a little older than the one he just saw earlier. His mother's hair is tied up in a ponytail unlike earlier she had them loose. He noticed that his father's hair is a little longer than the other past Bruno.
"I'm scared for Manuel..." his father's past self-started, "I really hope nothing happens to him."
"We already left him in the casita, he's safe there. come on bub, cheer up!"
Manuel?? Who the hell is that??
"He's not safe anywhere. My vision has one clear path and that is: He's gonna die!" The future-teller rolled himself in a ball, he was on the edge of tears. "...I don't want anything to happen to him."
"Aye, Bruno... it's gonna be okay. I'm sure Casita will protect him!" She scoots closer, rubbing his back in comfort.
WHO'S MANUEL-
The time-traveler was cut off when he heard a loud squeak. A fat rat snuggled into Bruno's neck, squeaking loudly, missing his owner dearly.
"Manuel?! What are you doing here?? I told you to stay at home!" He had a frown on his face, scolding his little companion, holding him on his palms. "You can't go outside it's too dangerous!"
"Oh no, let's hurry back before anything happens—" [name]'s words got caught in her throat as a snake suddenly attack Bruno's beloved pet rat, causing her to scream in shock.
Diego Madrigal watch in horror as the two tried to fight off the snake, still trying their best to save the Rat, but to their avail, they were too late.
It all happened so fast he didn't catch his mother beating the animal with the lamp.
He watch from the top of the tree as his father cried about the death of his favorite rat. If it was so terrifying to him when was 2 feet away from the chaos, how terrifying is it to them??
That's it, I quit. I'm too young for this.
Those words kept repeating in mind as he got back to his present time, hunting his older sibling with a frown. He finally found them at the balcony on the second floor with their mother, sweeping the flowers, keeping the house clean for the guests.
"Aye, Dee! Welcome back, how's your little adventure?" His older sister greeted him with a smile that resembles their mom.
The time traveler march over to them, picking up his bottle that was once filled with sand, it was the object that he used to make portals. Before dropping them in front of his older siblings.
"I quit this shit. I've seen too much! Never again!"
"Diego, that's 20 on the swear jar." [Name] gave him a look, which he ignored, too mad to care about swearing. The boy pointed accusingly at his siblings.
"Mamì! You don't know what they make me d- mmMMM!" Mateo swiftly put his hand to his brother's mouth to keep him from talking.
"Ssshhhh!"
"Mamà! Don't you think the sky is beautiful? It had various types of colors!" Alondra dragged her mother away from the boys, trying to distract her.
"What did you guys do now?" The woman asked sternly, glancing at her kids who had the same terrified face. "Is this the reason why Diego's been disappearing lately?"
The three looked like kicked puppies, feeling guilty that they kept a big secret from their mother. They're supposed to be a team, looking out for one another. No secrets unless it's a personal one.
"Am I interrupting something...?" A new voice called. The madrigals in green glace at Mirabel as she awkwardly stood near them.
"Um, no. We're done here, for now." eyeing her two sons trying to sneak away, while the girl is trying to hold them back. "What do you need mi sobrina?"
"Can I ask you about Tìo Bruno's visions?"
Bruno. The name caught the kids' attention. Why would she be asking about him now?
"Bruno? Wow, I haven't heard that name for a long time." She smiled, before humming in thought. "You need to be specific with your question, Mirabel."
"Oh yea, um. Is there a possibility that Tìo's vision can be... good? I mean, all I've heard all day was he spreads bad luck to the town.."
Mirabel as well as [name]'s three kids, looked at her, expecting an answer right away. "Well... he does have visions that have a good outcome, it was rare though. But if he did get one, Bruno will tell me right away, smiling happily showing me the green glass.." the woman smiled at the memory, before clearing her throat. "Is that all, Mirabel?"
"Did he ever give you a good vision?" All of them stared at her intensely.
"Yes actually, it was only once though. I think it was a week after we got together, I really want to see him do a vision in action and we kinda peaked into the future too much, 'cause..." she paused, a bashful smile showed in her features. "He saw the two of us getting married."
"WHAT??"
"I need a love story like yours and papà"
"AWWWW"
"I want a vision now."
The woman laughed at their reactions, it was one of her favorite days with him, she remembered it like it was yesterday. The way he avoids eye contact, too embarrassed about the vision. Whenever she caught him admiring the glass. It was the good old times.
"Okay, Tìa? What about the worst vision he ever gave you..?"
[Name]'s eyes widen at the horrible memory, even if it's years ago. She can't even mention his name without grieving. "Um, Bruno and I have this pe rat, he survived for 2 years and we were expecting him to be less energetic since he reached the end of his life span, but he was healthy like before."
Pet rat... is this Manuel??? The onE WHO GOT EATEN BY THAT SNAKE??? NOW IT MAKES SENSE WHY THEY'RE SO TROUBLED ABOUT HIM LEAVING CASITA. THAT WAS A VISION???? I take back what I've said earlier. I don't want a vision anymore.
"What happened next? What happened to the rat?" He heard his sister ask, all he wanted to do it to shut her up but he can't look suspicious. He's still traumatized from it, I mean it came out of nOWHERE AND SNATCHED THE RAT FROM HIS FATHER'S HANDS LIKE HE'S STEALING A CANDY FROM A BABY—
"We look into the future, wanting to know long he will live, we both thought he can live for another year but what we saw is very unexpected, and kinda disturbing."
Kinda? KINDA??? YOU CALL THE KINDA DISTURBING?? I'm losing my mind right now.
"What did you see?" Mirabel inquired, very curious about it. What vision can be much worse, so what if the rat died it's nature, just like señora Ozma's fish.
"He was eaten by a snake."
WHAT? It's still nature, they eat stuff to survive.
"He was snatched from Bruno's hands. He was holding him like this— then the snake just came and bites him." [Name] motions her hands, using it as a visual presentation of what happened.
"NOOOOO"
"Rest in Peace little rat."
"That sounds horrible..."
"It's more terrifying if you were actually there."

The Story of Us-Chapter 10
A/N: This is a rewrite of a story my good friend @spnbaby-67 allowed me to take and rewrite. All mistakes are mine. This is canon divergent, meaning some things that happened in the show will still happen here but with my own twist to it.
Summary: She and Dean met when they were kids. Even at such a young age, she knew that he was her soulmate. Being the daughter of a hunter, Michaela (Micki) Singer knew the life he led came with a price, but she was up to the challenge.
Pairings: Dean Winchester/reader, Sam Winchester/friend!reader, John Winchester, Mary Winchester (mentioned only), Bobby Singer, and more from the Supernatural universe.
Warnings: Flashbacks are in italics, fluffy stuff, angst stuff, character death, kidnapping, depression, semi-dark themes
WC: 1,137
Present Day (2008)
Dean walks back into the living room from checking on Micki and Maren, to find Sam on his cellphone.
“Okay. Alright. Yea, see you then.” Sam flips the cell shut and sits at the table with all the books and lore spread out.
“What’d Bobby say?” Dean asks as he goes to the refrigerator to grab something to drink. ‘Man, a beer would be nice right about now!’ he thinks to himself as he grabs a bottle of water and twists the cap off.
Pamela is out of I.C.U. She’s stable,” Sam answers as he looks down at all the jumbled papers.
“And blind because of us,” Dean says, sitting across from his brother. “And we still don’t have any damn answers.”
“Yes, we do,” Sam states. “We have a name or whatever. Castiel.”
“And what do we do with that information? Huh? A big ole bupkis.”
“With the right mumbo-jumbo, we could summon it,” Sam says.
“And bring it here?! Are you fucking insane dude? You saw what it did to Pamela. My family is in the very next room, man! Can’t we just consider this-” he says as he motions to himself,-as a victory? I’m back; I’m not worm food, I am living and breathing and here for Mick and Maren. Let’s just let lying dog lie.”
“So we go someplace else and draw him out,” the younger brother suggests.
Dean looks at Sam like he’s grown a second head. He is adamant about bringing whatever it was that showed up enough to burn Pamela’s eyeballs straight out of her skull to them.
“What are you going to do? Beat him up? Work him over? What if you’re no match for him, huh? Whatever he/it is, it’s strong enough to rip me from the grips of Hell.”
“I just want to talk to him,” Sam says, defeatedly. Then his face lights up and he pulls a page closer to him and reads. “Dean, look.”
He hands the paper to his older brother. Dean reads the text on the page.
‘Angels of the Lord are some of the most powerful beings. They have the ability to do things that are deemed impossible and inconceivable.’
“I’m not doing it here,” Dean finally caves. “Wait until Bobby returns and we’ll go find some deserted place to summon this thing.”
Sam nods and starts gathering up the books and pages from the table. Dean takes another drink of water, silently hoping they are not making a big mistake and he doesn’t end up back on that rack of torture.
FALL 1994
High school sucks ass! Micki had always liked school but high school is another story. Not only are there more kids to fill the halls and avoid but there are cliques. There are the jocks, the stoners, the nerds, the popular ones and then the category she seems to fall into: the loners.
No one really talks to Micki but she’s not complaining; actually prefers it that way. Maybe she is a loner but she knows she’s not alone because when she gets home she has Dean. Well, he isn’t there but he calls from a payphone near their motel every afternoon and night before going to sleep. He is all she needs.
“Oh look girls,” a female voice permeates the air. “Looks like someone’s mommy forgot to teach her how to dress.”
“Or style her hair,” another voice chimes in. “God, do you even brush it?”
Micki turns to see a group of about 5 or 6 girls, giggling. They are all in name brand clothing and their faces are caked in makeup; their hair teased high and stiff.. She looks around and realizes she is who they are referring to.
“What?” she asks, innocently.
“Did your mother know you left the house looking like the Brawny man?”
Micki looks down at her attire. Her favorite band, Guns N Roses, insignia on a t-shirt paired with one of Dean’s flannels and a pair of jeans with her Nike’s. She thinks she looks alright; Michaela Singer has never been a girly-girl anyway.
She straightens her shoulders and holds her head high as she responds to her tormentors. “There is nothing wrong with my clothes.”
“Oh honey,” the one who seems to be the leader laughs. “Who told you that? You look hideous. Maybe you need to take some pointers from your mom?”
“My mom died,” Micki says, hoping to get the girls to leave her alone. Instead it backfires.
“Oohh, that explains a lot! Daddy probably wanted a son and now that his wife is gone, he decided to raise you like a boy.”
“That’s not what happened!” Micki cries, unable to keep her emotions in check. The tears spill down her face.
“Oh little orphan Annie going to cry now,” the main girl jokes. “Mommyless and a crybaby.”
Micki runs down the hall, not caring about running into people as she just wants to get out of the building and home.
“I hate it!” she cries into the phone that evening when Dean asked her how school was. “They’re so mean.”
“Who Micki? Who hurt you? Whose ass do I need to kick?”
“Just-” sniffle “- some mean girls-” sniffle “-calling me names.”
“Baby don’t pay attention to them. You are better than that, I know you are. They're probably just jealous."
"I doubt that Dean," Micki sniffles again. "They are all so pretty and wear the name brand stuff."
"Micki, baby, you are gorgeous! Don't put yourself down like that you hear me, don't. I think you are beautiful. And so what if they wear name brand shit. Who cares what a person has on the outside, it's the inside that counts. You have a heart of gold and a body to die for. I know, believe me, I've seen you naked and almost have a coronary each time."
That makes Micki giggle and Dean smiles. "That's my girl. I love to hear you laugh."
Micki hears John call Dean's name and her mood drops. She knows that her phone time with her boyfriend is over. He has to go help his dad with whatever they're hunting.
"I gotta go sweetheart, but listen," Dean tells her. "Do not let those ugly bitches bring you down. You are so much more, you are my world. I'll be back as soon as we get this rawhead taken care of. I'll come prove to you how much you mean to me.
"OKAY! I'M COMING! JEEZ! Baby, I gotta go. Talk to you later."
"Okay Dean. Hey, Dean?"
"Yea?"
"Barney."
"Barney, baby. Barney all the way."
Micki hangs up the phone and sighs, as she realizes just how much she misses Dean and how he makes her feel good about herself.

Not Only Humanity’s Prettiest
Disclaimer: I do not own any characters of Attack on Titans they belong to Hajime Isayama!
A/N: Hi. Request something or talk to me. I dunno I don’t really know what to say.
Warning: a bit mentioning of something inappropriate so if you’re younger than 16 please leave.
You were known as humanity’s prettiest. You weren’t the type to talk much but rumors has it that your voice is angelic. People loved to watch you coming back from expeditions, even when you’re bruised up or scratched up you’d still look marvelous. You had tons of admirers whether it be from wall Maria, Rose or Sina there would be people throwing themselves at you but you never cared for them. You only had eyes for the one man that caught your heart years ago.
One day Levi was out to buy cleaning supplies but he couldn’t take you with him because you had to train the 104th cadets. You were watching them doing hand to hand combat until 3 unfamiliar men arrived. Everyone stopped what they were doing and gathered around you. One of them had blonde hair and the second one has brown and the 3rd one has red. (Hair idk who these men are too so let’s call them blonde, brown hair guy and red hair)
“Woah! So this is Y/N L/N... Rumors were true,” the blonde man said.
“Truly exquisite and mighty fine if I do say so myself,” The brown hair guy added.
“What are you doing here?!” Eren interrogated.
“Oh, we’re from Wall Sina. Here to take a look at ‘Humanity’s prettiest’ and I say, She exceeds our expectations,” The blonde explained.
“Yea? Well now you’ve seen her. Get out!” Eren exclaimed.
“How you could let such a poor beautiful fragile thing out there with those disgusting Titans?,” The brown hair commented. You raised your eyebrow, now irritated and confused.
Poor and fragile?! You were far from that. You grew up in the undergrounds and stayed with Levi ever since he saved you. He’s been teaching you combat skills to help you defend yourself. You fell in love with Levi ever since and never left his side except now. When Levi was captured by Erwin he never left your side. You were Levi’s strength, energy and happiness. You trained harder when the death of your friends came. You weren’t only the prettiest... You were also one of the strongest and diligent.
“Eren,” Armin called out.
Armin placed a hand to hide his mouth and whispered something to Eren’s ear. Eren nodded and smirked. “You guys are from Wall Sina right?” He asked. Everyone had their focus on the boy.
“Yes, we are,” The red hair man answered.
“Definitely better than you low-lives, risking your lives while we live in paradise?” The blonde mocked.
Mikasa was ready to charge at him when you grabbed her elbow. She looked at you searching the answers in your irritated eyes. She stood up and sighed and you loosened your grip. You were surprised Eren took this better than she did.
“So you’re rich?” Armin asked.
“Yea, richer than your monthly funds,” The blonde smirked.
Armin nodded slightly and Eren nodded back. We knew they had a plan but what is it?
“Alright, let’s make a deal,” Eren said with a prideful tone.
“If you manage to defeat Y/N,” Eren placed a hand over your shoulder, “You’ll get to take her out on a date,”
Your looked at Eren confused but you gaze soften a bit. You pat Eren on the head gently. You always saw the cadets like the children you never had so you would give them gentle motherly affections such as comfort hugs and head pats without Levi getting jealous.
The 3 men smirked to each other but before they could agree Eren continued, “If you can’t, you have to pay for our funds for a year no matter the cost,”
“Sure kid,” One of them replied.
“Let’s get this done and over with so we can spend the night together bunny,” Another spoke.
You were definitely furious now. No one was allowed to call you nicknames other than Levi. You were staring daggers at them. Mikasa and Jean saw your eyes and pulled everyone back.
The 3 of the men charged at you. You managed to knee the blonde in the face so hard he fell on his face and you took the opportunity to step on his body while the other 2 were trying to get a punch on you. You kicked one at his ribs and high kicked the other on the face knocking him out. Everyone was cheering for you behind when you dragged their body and stacked them all together placing them neatly on top of each other.
“Haha! You gotta pay our funds for a year now,” Connie teased.
“Meat! Buy tons of Meat!” Sasha cheered.
“We could use just gear upgrades,” Mikasa commented.
“And I would like new books,” Armin added.
“We’re not paying for anything!” The red hair man said.
“But you promised,” Eren mocked, “Maybe you shouldn’t insult the Scouts like that!”
“Fine! I gave you my word,” The blonde responded.
The cadets cheered and high fived you but they all went still and silent when they say who was standing by the door frame. Levi. You rushed towards him and gave him a hug.
“Tch... What happened?!” Levi asked, caressing your hair.
Eren saluted and yelled, “SIR! These men from Wall Sina interrupted our training to see Y/N,”
Levi raised his eyebrow and he looked ready to make the men beg for mercy for touching what’s his. You pulled away from the hug and stood by his side shoulders almost touching.
“But Armin gave me the idea to use their riches to our advantage and challenged them to a fight with Y/N!” Eren continued but he looked nervous to reveal anymore detail so Mikasa stepped in.
“If they had won they could take Y/N on a date but if they lost we would be awarded with funds throughout the year,” Mikasa said, nonchalantly. Everyone stared at Mikasa with wide eyes. Levi was protective with Y/N and the thought that anyone would even dare flirt with her would drive him to the depths of insanity, enough to earn a swift painful kick to the face.
“And?” Levi asked sounding surprisingly calm.
“She won sir!” Armin added quickly.
Levi smirked and made his way over to the 3 men stacked on top of each other and examined the damage with you following beside him. He crouched to get a better look and after a moment he got back up and gave you a pat on your head.
“Good job Y/N,” He complimented.
Your eyes sparkled at his compliment and you gave him a wide smile.
The brown was now conscious, “Cmon man! She’s too silent for my likings either ways!”
The brown hair guy began to push the red hair guy off and got up. He was about to walk away but Levi muttered something loud enough for him to hear, “She’s quite loud in bed,”
The brown hair guy was practically fuming and ran off with the blonde dragging his friend with him.
“Eren and Armin! Stable duty for 3 months!” Levi commanded.
~***~
Bonus ending:
Y/N surprising Levi with a dozen cleaning supplies every month. It’s definitely something that turns him on when Y/N goes out of her way to get Levi a present.
Sasha could make the men bankrupt because she was buying so much meat.
Armin got tons of books. Mikasa got the whole Survey Corps a gear upgrade.
Erwin was also informed about the funds and he arranged you a feast the night you defeated the men.
Levi buys you (Your favorite fruits).

— title : brownies n’ breaks
— word count : 2.2 k words
— pairing : daryl dixon x reader
— summary : cooking is your love language and it’s time that you are able to finally make something for Daryl, protected from the high walls that alexandria boasts of are you finally able to bring that vision to life
— warnings : absolutely nothing, except sickly sweet fluff
oooo another daryl request if you’re willing!!! maybe once they get to alexandria reader makes daryl some homemade brownies or some shit because she knows he’s never had much homemade food if any just some domestic cute shit??🥺🥺♥️
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* requested / requests are open *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Sweetness flows throughout the air of your new home, sliding into every corner it can find to fill and warm. The smell of domesticy is something you thought perished long ago when the world died, but here you stand.. with a fresh batch of brownies in the oven baking as if life rebooted and got set back to factory settings. You move from the oven, small steps to the door to be able to survey the kitchen area once more, blinking as if to erase it from your vision, to be greeted with the punishing sun and the dirt filled roads lined with ghosts.
A cozy yellow glow is snug in the pit of your stomach as you think about who the sweet bake belongs to, Daryl has been nothing less than golden. From Atlanta, all the way to Alexandria.. he has always been one to step up without even thinking. You’d shared many secluded moments together, talking about your pasts and while he has never explicitly said anything, you have created a picture in your head about what he has gone through. The love not shared healthily to someone who will always put his family first. Even prior to the downfall of society, you loved to cook for everyone you knew.
You settle yourself with a book on the window ledge close to the kitchen, awaiting the arrival of Daryl, a giddiness that could be likened to a snowfall of glitter falling gracefully within you.
“ you know, when we finally find a new home. I will make you the best brownies you’ve ever had! “
“ if y’don’t burn ‘em first. “ he replied, the corner of his eyes crinkle so delicately as he chuckles lowly.
“ don’t be so fucking mean! here I am trying to do something nice.. it won’t kill you! “ you argue humorously, your fist balling up to punch his arm with little force.
Laughter and carelessness had been a rarity after surviving Terminus, your focus on trying to find safety.. no matter how much of a dream it may be. The journey to coming to terms with the fading faces and memories of the prison has been a painful one, comfort was not something that could easily be found, yet you found it in the least conventionally affectionate person you knew.
“ if anythin’s gonna kill me, it ain’t gonna be your cooking. “
“ actually, I cook very well. it will be a good day when I finally get to show you. “
An airy smile brightens your features, the burdenless weight unable to keep your lips stuck together. Many memories you have with him are of the fond kind, of course, the course of your bond with him runs deep but never has it been a calm sea. There have been moments where you wonder if it’s one sided, if you are inventing a picture that you wish to bleed through to reality, then you are proven wrong and he does things that you know in your heart are true. It has taken losing friends, a home, finding new hope to strengthen that bond and while you would prefer to take the easy road, you know that nothing will ever split the two of you into shards of glass that will never be able to be repaired. You’re both strong people, but stronger together.
A figure clad in black and covered in grime makes their way up the flawless road to where you rest, your vision could be awful but you can make out his being anywhere. The book you hold is laid to rest, your feet already carrying yourself to the door to meet him. Days had past since you last saw him and you can now feel the chords of longing pulling as you had missed him.
Your hand encloses the door handle, swinging it open to finally land your gaze on his form, feeling as if it had been years you’d not done so, as opposed to a few days.
“ took you long enough. “
“ yeah, yeah. quit your complainin’. “
You move aside, Daryl taking the cue from you and entering the house that bares no soul at that present moment. Everyone is out with their own agenda or job, leaving you to potter about to your own devices.
Some peace and privacy for even a few hours is something you are thankful for, two things that had been incredibly rare from your journey from Atlanta. Though, the noise that comes with your family reminds you of the moments you couldn’t wait to be rid from as you grew up are ones that you no longer fail to appreciate.
“ did you find anybody out there? “
Daryl shakes his head, you see the trouble that he wears often become even more apparent as it overwhelms his features intensely. Knowing Daryl as well as you do, you know that while he won’t admit it out loud, every time he goes out there with Aaron to find people and finds no one wounds his spirit more and more. While his desire to save everyone is admirable, it’s often a concern to you that it might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back and he’s often met with your comforting energy of it being simply an unsustainable trait.
“ you know you won’t always find people, right? “ you ask him softly, tucking your legs underneath you as you seat yourself on the sofa.
Daryl refuses to sit, it’s a thought that regularly finds itself bouncing around your mind as to why he can’t relax even behind the walls of Alexandria.
“ yea’, still sucks though. “ he wipes his thumb across his nose, an unconscious habit on his part, discussing his thoughts and feelings has never been easy, raised in a home full of toxicity stunted him emotionally, something he still wrestles with when the occasion arises.
“ there’s going to be a day where you’ve gone and saved everyone! there won’t be anyone left for you to bring back! cut yourself some slack. “
Daryl doesn’t respond, knowing there is truth in your words but he has seen so much death already, the world gripped by dark and dim choke hold, a little dusting of life is something that has been lacking since it died. Avoidance of feelings is something Daryl flees to when the conversation gets tough, he can deal with words full of anger and rage, but topics so delicate still feel so alien to him.
“ wha’ y’been up to? “ the male questions you, seemingly interested in what you have been up to, watching you from the otherside of the room.
As if a switch had been flipped, your eyes ignite with excitement and joy as you have finally been able to fulfil your unofficial promise to him.
“ remember when we were talking about my cooking? when you insulted it? “ the sides of your lips gently lift with a soft innocence, you feel the elation slowly warming the entirety of your body at the simpleness of it all.
“ y’ain’t gone and poisoned sumn’ have ‘ya? “ asks Daryl, turning to face you from across the floor where he stood. His tone holds a ‘ blink and you will miss it ‘ humour threaded into his words.
“ I should have! “ laughing at him, you fit your fingers between his and lead him into the kitchen with you.
Touch is still something that sends an uncomfortable shiver to travel the distance down his spine, but with everything you have been through and all the time you have spent together, touch is something he’d never turn from when thinking of you. Your relationship has been a strange, never formal one, but it is perfect for the two of you. Unspoken words full of warmth and fondness are a solidity in each one’s souls, and while you both never shared the extent of what the two of you have with the group, they have their suspicions and theories. But if they know one thing, it’s Daryl’s affection for you runs deep.
“ brownies! “
He peaks into the oven that you have opened, the rich smell of cocoa and heat baking the treats hit him like a brick, a pit forms deep in his stomach. This is different from past meals beforehand. You had gone out of your way for him, of all people. Never could he mentally grip why you have been so kind and benevolent with him but it’s something he treasures deeply. In the beginning he was more abrasive with you more than anyone else, but it used to be his go to defense mechanism with everyone in your family. Softness never being something destined for him was beaten into him for a young age, learning only how to loathe and to only say words in anger. It wasn’t until you came along and took your time with him did he let you in, something you have been grateful ever since.. especially since you have been able to discover the colourful soul that resides within him.
“ y’didn’t have to. “ he replies, his mouth watering at the mere smell of the brownies that are close to being fully baked.
“ Daryl… “ a softness in your response that is only reserved for him is heavy, your eyebrows furrowing in dejection. You know enough of his history to be confident in your placed hurt for him being unable to experience kindness in a positive manner. Your hand trails up his clothed arm and rests on his shoulder lightly, allowing for him to decide whether or not to accept the physical affection. He doesn’t shrug it off, if anything he leans more into your touch. “ you know I’m doing this because I want to, you deserve something nice! “
“ thanks. “
“ and they’re nearly done, so you best take a seat. “
Daryl follows your order with little encouragement, a smirk that he conceals from your view and sits at the lengthy dinner table. He’s having trouble connecting the dots of the dead walking and civilisation ended and the pure normalcy of him sitting at a dinner table about to eat home cooked brownies. Even back when the world was bustling with life and people working their nine to fives were home cooked meals a rarity.
“ so this is what y’spent your day on? “ he asks as he watches you with a spark of fondness in his eyes as you work in the kitchen.
“ cooking is therapeutic. “
“ y’ a weird person. “ Daryl quips, staring at you right in your eyes. His expression gives nothing away, though his eyes speak a thousand words and paint a thousand colours that you understand fully.
It’s lucky you know him so well to understand when he’s being serious and when not.
“ but you like it! “
The squares of the baked treats are uneven and jagged, your features contorting into a confused frown at how they could so well until the end. You blame the knife for the imperfection and flaws of the appearance of what lays before you, however your heart knows it’s your inability to present your dishes artistically.
“ now I apologise they don’t look good but they do taste good! “
“ y’never have to say sorry for anythin’ “ he thoughtless says, his mind to preoccupied with the food laid before him.
A picture painted by his mind long ago had you as the perfect person, it’s comforting to know the flaws you have are nothing short of charming in your own little way. With the lack of elegance associated with him, his fingers dig into the irregular shape of the brownie and shoves half of it into his mouth.
You watch him with your breath holding itself, never have you been a person who has wanted to impress but when it comes to Daryl? You find yourself wanting to do that and more.
“ well? “
He nods with his mouth full, unable to formulate his words. His jokes about your cooking being bad have been nothing more than that, jokes. But even as he’s consuming the small squares he’s surprised at how good they taste, better than he could even imagine.
“ ain’t half bad. “
“ in Daryl speak that means they’re pretty damn great, huh? “ you question him rhetorically, amusement dancing on each word you speak as you gaze steadily on his form.
“ well y’didn’t burn the house down. “
Your mouth opens and eyes widen considerably as your expression twists from being filled to the brim of affection to one of shock, aghast at his jovial words. The laughter tumbles carelessly from your lips as you reach across to swat his arm playfully.
“ you are so rude! “
He joins in with your laughter, a sight so infrequent that you wish you could burn the image into your mind with no chance of being erased by time. It’s moments like these, where you truly feel like the only two people in the world, stolen moments you hold close to your heart. You hope that you will reach a space where you both will be able to freely express your feelings, while the mutual affection is known between the both of you, sometimes you want to use words. So he knows, because it’s something he deserves. To know how much he is loved, without cowering away from the subject.
“ nah I’m just kiddin’. thanks, I mean it. “

End of an Era
It was fun while it lasted guys :)
>>>Read on AO3<<<
And one night, without any warning, the last piece of the puzzle came. The dream told her everything, ran over the entirety of her life, and when the old and wrinkled soldier Mikasa closed her eyes for the last time, she woke up with unshed tears brimming in the corners.
Next to her, the devil she decapitated slept peacefully, with no marks or scars under his eyes. She didn’t want to wake him yet, as there was another person Mikasa needed to talk to right now, so getting out of the bed carefully she located her phone.
“M-Mikasa?”, a yawn, “It’s four in the morning, why are you calling me?”
“I’m sorry Armin, I have to ask you something.”, Mikasa whispered, keeping her voice low not to wake Eren, “please…”
“Sure, just…” another yawn, this time even longer, “Give me a second so I can collect my brain from the dreamland.”
Mikasa could hear the phone being put down and then the rustling of bedding on the other side as Armin was most likely stretching and fully waking up. She waited patiently until he picked the device up again, speaking in a much clearer voice.
“Ok, I guess I’m functional now. What’s up?”
“In the book you are writing, does the main pairing gets a happy ending? Do they get together?”
“I… Uh… Is that why you woke me?”
“Armin, please. It’s important to me.”
In truth, the blond had no idea why Mikasa was suddenly so interested in the ending of his story. Sure, she read it during development and said that it was good, but there’s a difference between that and calling at four AM to grill him about the ending she didn’t get to see yet because Armin finished it about a week ago. Then again, her voice was completely serious and while Mikasa did like some fun pranks from time to time, this didn’t sound like one at all. So, following her wish, Armin gave her an honest answer.
“No, they don’t. The girl is forced to kill her love interest to save the world from him, but it's sort of bittersweet because their friends get to live a happy life after.”
There was a gasp on the other side as if he confirmed some of Mikasa’s suspicions.
“Why?”
“Well, people like angst, and giving everyone a happy ending is a bit of a cliché, no? I mean…”
“Why her though, wasn’t she the heroine?”
“Yes, but she can move on in time you know, forget about him and whatnot.”
There was a bit of silence on the other side before Mikasa spoke again, this time in a small and sad voice.
“Could you change it? Please, for me.”
“How?”
“Just make her happy…”
Running a hand through his sleep-tussled hair Armin puffed out air, turning the possibilities in his head. It wouldn’t be that hard to make Mikasa’s wish come true. He had a lot of supernatural going on in his book, monsters, and gods, a simple resurrection wouldn’t break the story. Plus it was rare to hear Mikasa beg like this, she was usually the “cool and stoic” type, and it tugged at Armin’s heart.
Hell, why not.
“All right, I’ll do it somehow.”
“You will?!”
“Yeah, but you’ll owe me one.”
There was happy and relieved laughter on the other side.
“Of course, I’ll do anything Ar, thank you so much!”
With a click, the call ended and Mikasa let out a long breath, rubbing the unshed tears from her eyes. It would seem that Armin wasn’t writing a story, more like remembering it, but unlike the one that happened this one would get a different ending.
Mikasa told Eren everything over breakfast, hugging a warm cup of coffee with both hands. He didn’t say anything while she spoke, just listened, his green eyes taking all of her in, both words and gestures. Only when she finished did he let out a long breath, one that felt like he was holding in for an eternity.
“This is a lot to take in.”, he said, “Especially at once.”
“I know, you don’t have to believe me but…”
“I believe you. Every word.”
“Just like that?”
A firm nod.
“You believe it, and I see no reason why I should not. Past lives and other-universe memories can exist, it's not like the entire human psyche has been mapped.”
He looked away for a second.
“The Eren you described, he is so different than me, yet so terrifyingly similar in some aspects. I can sit here and say that I would never cause the apocalypse but in his place…? I just can’t know for sure.”
“I guess we are lucky that we don’t have to find out.”, Mikasa offered, “This life is so much better than whatever they went through...”
“For sure.”
“And that’s not all.”
“What do you mean?”
“I… I think I married someone… Jean maybe? Had kids with him too.”
“Oh my god.”, Eren threw an arm over his face dramatically, “Out of all people, why him?”
“I… I don’t know if it was him but….”
“Please Miki, I get that I died, and you wanted to move on, but didn’t your past life have any taste ?”
“Hey! Jean is nice.”
He peeked at her from under his arm.
“Nice huh?”
“Yea, nice. You know what, if you die I’m going to marry him here too.”
The fingers that were till now peacefully resting on her hip curved and dug into her flesh, a dangerous flash in the emerald that stared at her.
“You’re just trying to rile me, is that it?”
She fought the grin, not wanting it to reveal the joke.
“Maybe…”
However, Eren’s grip weakened as his face grew distant, the classic “philosophical” look entering his features.
“Would that be fair to him though? Jean is… okay I guess, and you treating him like an afterthought, a second choice? Not nice.”
Mikasa’s smile faltered when she realized that, and Eren was not even done with his speech.
“Then again, if I’ll be dead then I guess I have no agenda in telling you what to do. Plus I think I’d be happier if you moved on and had a family instead of mourning me forever. You are too young for that.”
These words hit way too close to Mikasa’s dream, and she could feel the sadness rising in the chest again. To battle it, she took hold of Eren’s chin and tugged it down until their lips were touching.
“Hey, not more talk about death, okay?”, she ordered, “I had enough of that while sleeping.”
“Yes ma’am.”
When she kissed him, Mikasa’s sadness melted away again, chased away by Eren’s warmth against her. Maybe her other self had to settle for something else, but not her. She was here and she had the love of her life right in her arms, in her bed, and she couldn’t be happier about it.
Eren mulled the facts over for a time, putting them together in his head. It was a nice day outside, and while he did all the math Mikasa simply watched him with a faint smile on her lips. It was almost noon when he came to her with a new question.
“So let me get this straight – I didn’t achieve anything In the end? My island was still nuked and the monsters…”
“Titans.”, Mikasa corrected him.
“Right, titans. Those are still around? Man, I guess I was turned into a clown at the end.”
She didn’t know how to disagree with any of those points.
“And the point of it all was nothing? That no matter how hard you struggle to save something you hold dear it will end up destroyed anyway?”
“It does sound hopeless when you put it like that.”
He snorted.
“Guess I was a certified clown then – oh well, now you see what zero pussy does to a motherfuc…”
“No, no, oh my god.”, Mikasa interrupted him, “Why do you keep making fun of it, I swear you are such a kid and…”
“W-What?”, Eren had trouble speaking because of the laughter, “It’s true! I died for nothing in your dream, I was a joke.”
“No… It wasn’t like that.”
“Take it as you will, but all my nightmares became reality and…”
Eren tapped the table a few times, most likely trying to wrap his head around it all.
“…you married Jean.”
“Well… yea, that was a bit weird.”
“Was it? I mean, the guy had a crush on you.”
She blinked at him.
“It was just a tiny one if there even was one at all.”
“Oh c’mon Miki,”, Eren’s grin was wide, “You couldn’t be that dense.”
“I-I mean…”
Jean? A crush? It reminded her of that night, not that long ago when she found out that most if not all of her female friends would like to have some sort of intimate experiments with her.
“Doesn’t matter.”, she blurted, “He’s a good friend, and I like him a lot, but not romantically!”
“He will be heartbroken…”
“He will?”
“Nah,”, Eren chuckled, “Jean got over it, he and Hitch are happy together, as far as I know.”
“That’s good, a crush is hardly a good base for a real-life relationship.”
“Then I guess we can be happy that you guys married in a dream only.”
“Indeed.”, she reached over the table to gently touch his face, “Here I have you.”
Eren mirrored her gesture, letting his thumb stroke the scar on Mikasa’s cheek.
“And I have you.”
“Forever.”
“Sadly.”
“What was that?”
“Oh nothing baby…”, a devilish grin, “Yes, forever.”
With her dreams done and finished it was time to return to civilization, to leave the cabin life behind. Eren told her that he got this, very courteously, most likely still worried about her mental state.
“Just take it easy,”, he said, kissing the top of her head, “I’ll pack.”
He did as he said, fighting with the baggage to the best of his ability. Mikasa was left to wander around aimlessly, and for whatever reason her steps took her to the big tree sitting there, overlooking a vast plain of grass. Taking a deep breath of the fresh air she leaned on the tree, but then her eyes caught sight of something that almost made her jump out of her skin.
There was a ghost sitting there, a ghost of her, dressed in a simple skirt and shirt, the scarf still around her neck. The apparition was about the same age Mikasa was, maybe a bit younger, but they looked almost the same. Her hair wasn’t short, it was long and pulled into a ponytail and there was no red highlight decorating it. The ghost looked up, her eyes meeting Mikasa’s, and a faint smile crossed her lips.
It was her perfect copy, down to the scar on the cheek - albeit the ghost’s was even more faded than hers, long years washing over it. She must have gotten her cut as a teenager. And there was also something about the eyes – it would be a lie to say that Mikasa had an easy life, but what she saw in the ghost’s eyes was something different altogether. The sitting girl saw hell and more, and it showed in her face.
“You are me.”, Mikasa finally pushed out.
The ghost looked at her curiously, tilting her head to the side.
“You… you can’t speak, can you?”
The ghost shook her head.
“I wonder why….”
The sitting girl shrugged, not understanding this any more than Mikasa did. She was just about to question her further when something else caught her attention. The ghost wasn’t sitting there on her own, there was something next to her – a tombstone with a very familiar name written on it.
Eren Yeager
Mikasa already had a suspicion, but this confirmed it – the sitting girl was the other Mikasa, the one she had dreams about, her past life. Following her eyes the ghost saw what she was looking at, her smile replaced by a look of deep longing. Gently, she caressed the stone, her eyes shining with tears.
“So the dreams were right, huh? You had to kill him.”
The ghost nodded solemnly.
“You saved the world, everyone, but you had to give the love of your life up.”
The apparition didn’t react, eyes trained at the cold tombstone.
“They say that if you love something, you should let it go.”, she told the ghost, “But I can’t do that….”
Looking over her shoulder at the man she loved so much, Mikasa let the words spill freely.
“I guess I’m selfish but I don’t want to lose this love we have, no matter what kind of symbolism it is. I want to wake up next to him every morning and spend ten minutes getting out of his hands because he holds me so tightly when we sleep. I want to see him yawn and wish him good morning and share a cup of coffee. I want him to be there for me when I come back so we can talk about our days and cuddle on the couch together…”
Her hands intertwined on the abdomen, gently stroking the fabric of her shirt.
“I want to have children with him, family, kids that will combine my and his looks and attitude. Is that selfish? Is that too much to ask? Is that…”
Lost in her speech Mikasa stumbled over the words and fell silent, letting out a short laugh after.
“I’m selfish and I don’t care. I’m never letting go simply because I don’t want to and damn everyone who disagrees with me. I deserve this, I deserve to be loved.”
As soon as those words left Mikasa’s lips she realized how insensitive those were towards her other self, the poor girl who, for all her bravery, for the act of saving the world itself – got nothing.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel bad.”, she apologized to the sitting copy of herself, “I know that you never got to experience any of that with him.”
The ghost’s face fell and she buried her face to the scarf, eyes moving towards the headstone next to her. Seeing the longing written in her features, Mikasa couldn’t help but wonder.
“Did you… did you learn to let him go? Did you come to terms with his death?”
The pain in the girl’s eyes was all the answer Mikasa needed. It resonated within her, the suffering because she could imagine how it would feel. Maybe it was because she experienced it in her past life, maybe it was because of all these strange visions but she could do it and the pain and emptiness were terrible.
“This is not fair,”, she blurted, “You did everything you could, you saved the world and this was your reward? You’ve sacrificed… everything… and….”
She was crying now, Mikasa realized, her tears matching the ghost’s. Falling to her knees next to the girl she tried embracing her only to realize that she can’t touch a figment of her imagination.
“I’m so sorry for how the universe treated you, you deserved more, so, so much more….
More flashes- this time of a child, a faceless husband, grandkids too.
“This, all that… Did it make you happy?”
The ghost girl gave her a small enigmatic smile, and Mikasa realized one thing. It wasn’t for her to know – maybe she was happy with the other family, maybe she wasn’t, that would remain an enigma.
“But still, you kept visiting his grave,”, Mikasa’s eyes moved over to the headstone and the flowers there, “You never let his memory fade.”
A nod from the other girl.
“Still, it wasn’t fair to you. You could have been, no, should have been so much more…”, this time the raven’s eyes moved to where her Eren was, “You deserved to have a happy future with him too.”
“Yet you didn’t, and I did – you got the pain and I have the rewards you fought for. I swear, I will not let it go to waste.”
Standing up, she offered her hand to the ghost.
“Please, come with me, experience all that you bled for, struggled for so much. Let me show you how the love you wanted feels in full bloom.”
But the girl didn’t move, simply looking at her. And that was when Mikasa realized….
“… you don’t have to come with me because you are already here. You are me, I am you, we are the same person.”
It was strange, realizing that this was her- this old, tired soldier, a woman broken by a war Mikasa couldn’t even comprehend. A tragic hero who sacrificed her greatest love for the greater good, being left with nothing but a memory. A girl who was thrust into a cruel world and treated unfairly, no matter how hard she tried to change it, to save those she held dear. Tears in the corners of her eyes, Mikasa clenched her fists.
Not anymore.
Now there was no war, no titans, no apocalypse over their heads. Eren wouldn’t go to commit a global genocide to save his country, only to have it destroyed anyway. She wouldn’t marry another man and have children with him, bring her family to his grave, and plant flowers with pain in her heart. No.
Mikasa wasn’t a soldier anymore – she was an MMA fighter, a professional athlete, a model. Her life wasn’t filled with a constant struggle for survival. It was dreamy- filled with everything she could wish for, whatever it was spending her time with friends, goofing around with Eren, or training her pole dancing. She didn’t care for horses or sharpen her blades.
Eren wasn’t a hopeless maniac, driven to war by the sheer necessity of survival – he was a doctor, a surgeon, helping people in need not killing them.
Most importantly they were together – an engaged couple that loved each other so much that they couldn’t put it into words correctly. No tragedy would befall them.
Keeping her hand outstretched, Mikasa talked to the ghost again.
“We are one, but I am the lucky part of us, of me. I am love, I am the nights and lazy mornings spent in bed, I am all the kisses and hugs. You are my sadness, my sacrifice, my longing and pain, my unfulfilled and tragic fate.”
She stretched her fingers closer to the girl.
“Please, take my hand and experience it all with me, learn that there is beauty in this cruel world.”
Not hesitant anymore, the ghost held her hand towards Mikasa.
When their fingers made contact a chill ran down her spine and she gasped, blinking several times. The girl was gone, so was the grave, only the tree remained and gently swayed in the wind. And in her heart, in her soul, Mikasa felt different – different yet same because now she knew everything and the pain in her heart resonated.
It would always be a part of her, or rather it always was, but Mikasa wasn’t feeling down because of it. Now she knew that she had to feel everything, every touch and happy emotion that she experienced with him because it was what her past died for. If anything the full realization of her suffering made Mikasa appreciate it even more – she was living this life not only now but for the past too.
He was her Eren, she was his Mikasa, and in this world, nothing would tear them apart. And the tears the began to appear in her eyes did nothing to deny that fact.
“Miki? Why are you crying, what’s wrong?”
Refusing to answer Mikasa crossed the distance and hugged him, burying her face into Eren’s chest. Understanding that she didn’t want words now he stroked her back patiently, waiting for her to come back to him.
“Eren, you won’t ever leave me, will you?”
“Never.”
“I mean, I couldn’t do it even if wanted to.”
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t think I love you anymore, it’s more like fascination, adoration maybe.”
“…Eren…”
“Hell, I’d do anything to stay with you, you want me to bark for you? Cause I will..”
Despite her sad mood, Mikasa felt the smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
“Stop, come on.”
Ignoring that, he pressed his face into her hair, a quiet bark leaving his lips.
“Woof.”, he nuzzled her gently, “There, I did it.”
She giggled at that and Eren smirked, glad that he made her smile because that was his mission in life – making the beautiful angel he was, for some reason blessed by, happy.
It made her reflect on the whole story, now that she had it whole. Eren kept silent while Mikasa was deep in thought, his fingers gently stroking her hipbone in small soothing circles. In her mind, she recalled as much as she could, brought it together and….
Mikasa took a shuddering breath.
“It makes no god damn sense.”
“What doesn’t?”
“The whole story, It… it doesn’t add up at all. You dying for nothing, me moving on so quickly I… The whole world….”
She was pouting now, that adorable expression that made Eren want to kiss it right off of her face, but he held himself back. Mikasa was talking.
“It had such a nice build-up, but in the end, it collapsed completely. I don’t understand why….”
“Well, that is the thing with dreams.”, he mumbled next to her, “They often don’t make much sense once we wake up.”
“But still..”
“Mikiiiiiiiiii…”, unable to resist her cuteness anymore, he pressed a string of soft kisses all over her face, turning that pout into a breathless giggle, “Stop overthinking dreams so much.”
Grabbing her hand he intertwined their fingers, raising it so the sun slid over their skin. It highlighted the contrast between them, how his tanned shade complimented her pale one, just as perfectly as they completed one another in life.
“This. This is important.”, he said, “This is real. You may be a broken titan slayer in your dreams, but here you are… well, still a titan slayer but one that is happy… I think.”
His voice got even deeper when he directed his question right at her.
“Are you happy with me?”
Mikasa was nodding her head before she even realized what was happening.
“Yes. Gods yes, I couldn’t be happier.”
“See?”, the flash of white teeth revealed his grin, “Then focus on that. Here, in this world, I’m not going anywhere, and I’ll stay with you as long as you’ll have me.”
“That might be a very long time Yeager, are you sure that you want to do that to yourself?”
“As if I had a choice.”, his fingers danced over her hip, “You bound me to yourself with black magic, remember?”
“Good to see that you remember that. My Dark Knight.”
The kiss Eren gave her was interlaced with a smile, and it was one of the sweetest Mikasa ever got in her life. He was right, after all, her dreams, past self, it was a tragedy that befell her, but it was so jumbled at the end that she had a hard time taking it seriously. The “ending” of her past didn’t make sense, no matter how much she tried to see the point of it. It all looked like such a tragedy, but in the end…. was it maybe a comedy? A twisted image where all the sacrifice and pain they went through amounted to nothing? Where several characters were made to be worthless, and their struggle amounted to nothing? A parody of a terrible conflict that couldn’t be solved by anything else by an annihilation?
But... why dwell on it?
She had this- this life, this Eren, and this happiness that they built together, and she loved every second of it.
And there was nothing else that the past could show her anymore.
“Let’s get out of here.”
“You sure? Didn’t forget anything?”
Mikasa looked at the tree where the conversation with the ghost took place, smiling. Tightening her hold on Eren’s hand, she felt more content than ever before, finally having an explanation and ending for her nightmares. It all made sense, and she would live her life to the fullest with the love of her life – not only for herself but for the other Mikasa too. She deserved to experience it, every second of it. After all, they were one and the same.
“Yes. I have all I need right here with me.”

Saved by the Devil (15/?) - Tommy Shelby
Summary: More stuff after Epsom and a bit of of Tommy pov. (im sorry about these summaries im terrible)
Pairing: Tommy Shelby x fem!reader (Romantic)
Warning: Mention of death and blood.
A/N: Not my best but yea. im getting the hang back i think? i dont know...feedback would be great. thanks for reading and hope you all have a good day and are treating yourselves well.
The drive was quiet. Neither of you two spoke and honesty you were glad for the silence. Your thoughts were loud enough as it is. Polly didn’t drive you far until she spoke or more like laughed. It sounded like a mad women’s laugh. Your stomach did flips as you could recall the laugh at your stay in the asylums from time to time. You don’t dare look at polly hoping her eyes stayed glued to the road. You didn’t want to see any glint of madness that was in her eyes. You didn’t want to ask any questions that might just pop out of your mouth. You had enough running through your mind. You had your own shit to go through.
Once you entered the city part you could see that the path polly was taking was to Adas. You didn’t want to go there.
“Polly, you can let me off here.” You say, looking at some random street corner.
She scoffs “Its getting dark and you wanna walk the rest of the way? I thought you were smarter than that.”
You don’t say anything. She continues speaking, “Just tell me where you wanna go.”
“just pull over Here, Polly.” You say.
She doesn’t say anything as she listens to your orders. She looks a bit annoyed but you don’t have to explain yourself. You leave the car and take one last look at Polly.
“Thank you. I appreciate it.” You say.
She nods. “You should call Tommy when you get home. Im sure he’ll want to hear from you.”
She starts the car and leaves you by yourself. You watch the car fade in the distance. You think of Thomas wondering if he’s dead or nt. You shake your head at the thought. You cant afford to think of that right now.
You walk the route that you’ve memorized that is Trinities place. Your there in no time. As you go through alleyways, hiding in the shadows, not wanting to take any chances. You know now that your paranoia was not just something to torture you.
You run up the stairs. Ready to pound on your best friends door, take what you needed and say a quick goodbye. But her door is ajar. You take the knife off your thigh holster, kicking your shoes off incase of a getaway and walk in slowly.
The apartment is a mess. Books and glass litter the floor. Furniture is upside down. Curtain torn down. Blood stained on the walls. You gulp as the blood stains lead you to the bathroom. You follow. And your heart breaks as you see Trinity her face toward the ceiling. She looked dead with all the blood that covered her neck but her shallow breaths told you she was still holding on. You drop the knife, fall to your knees, struggling to hold the tears that you thought had already ran out today.
“…(y/n)..”trinity struggles to speak, blood splats out of her mouth.
“don’t speak. Don’t worry its gonna be alright. Its gonna be-be okay.” You looked around the bathroom, it was in such dissary you didn’t know what supplies you could use to help her. Though you knew that the amount of blood lost was too much. It would not be okay.
Trinity grabs your shirt and brings you close. You can smell the copper in her breath. “Leave. Its- its under the-the painting.” She whispers. Her grip loosens and her stare loses focus. You sob into your friends chest.
You look under the only painting that Trinity had in her apartment Its of a little ship sailing in the sea. You never understood why she liked it. You take it off its hook and find a moderate sized hole that holds the bag of contents that you had asked her to hide for you. You finally had everything. It was time to finally leave. You took one last look at your friends apartment feeling bad you couldn’t give her a proper burial. You know she didn’t have a religion. You grow resentment that no one in this apartment building helped her. You find a match in her drawer and some alcohol. You make a trail through the apartment down the stairs of the building. Not before leaving with some of her jewelry and dress. Needing something to remember trinity by. You light the match and throw it with ease. Th building lights up in flames. You could hear the screams pleasing for help. But you walk away heading toward the train station with a heavy heart.
Tommy’s P.O.V
Thomas was taken to a field. His face a mixture of boredom and anger, his soon to be killer don’t care what he feels. Hes been on the other end of this and he didn’t are what his victims felt. He thinks of your face. The way you called his name. He wonders what your doing, if you got home safe. Surely you did. His brothers, Polly, one of his many loyal employee would have sought to it. That’s all that mattered. That you weren’t here facing the type of death that he was about to.
He asks for a last cigarette. The captors allow it watching him descend into an anger that he can no longer hold in. He was about to have everything.
‘Well not everything’ he thinks of the night where he almost got to kissed you and what a missed opportunity that was. He should have gone after you told you how he felt then. But it seemed to be to late as the man pressed the gun to his temple. He will make his piece with death. I mean how could he not when for so many years, he has been the reaper for so many.
But instead of the bullet going through his skull, marking the end of Thomas Shelby’s life, he’s pushed into a grave and two shots ring off. One assassin stand while two bodies drop. He lays in the grave, confused and very alive.
The standing assassin simply says, “At some point in the near future, Mr.Churchhill will want to speak to you in person. Mr. Shelby. He has a job for you.”
For a moment he is stunned. He was so content with the thought of death merely moments ago and here he was alive in a grave meant for him. The man tells him to go. And Thomas wastes no time walking away toward a life he fully intends on enriching and keeping for a long time. Hopefully you get to be apart of it too.

Thoughts on how it would effect cannon bits of Harry Potter if her was smarter? How would you change harry to make him a better character in canon? I always say I like Harry Potter the character but I've realized most things I like about him are fannon personalities and I dont care much for how jkr actually wrote him or how she wrote a lot of things actually lol but yea I just wanted to see your thoughts on making harry a better character and not a total asshole
There’s a lot of questions in here, so let me do my best to unpack them.
How Would Canon Change if Harry Was Smarter?
Depends on your point of view: not that much or quite a ton.
Remember for the most part all Harry really does is go to school. We read about his magical schoolkid adventures where he watches Hermione and Ron bicker over a cat, sneaks around the castle to spy on his nemesis Draco Malfoy, attends classes, etc.
It’s just that every May he has a weird showdown with the enemy of the day a la Buffy the Vampire Slayer (May is apocalypse season in Hogsmeade.)
Going to school though? That’s not going to change. In fact, a smarter Harry would probably make for a much more boring read for 90% of the Harry Potter novels. Harry’s smart enough to realize 12 year-old Draco isn’t the Heir of Slutherin? Well, I guess that takes out Hermione turning into a cat and Harry and Ron’s sneaking into Slytherin. Harry’s smart enough to figure out that Dumbledore’s smart enough to know whether or not Draco’s a Death Eater spy in The Halfblood Prince? Well, that takes out 90% of the book’s plot of Harry spying on Draco going “I KNOW YOU’RE EVIL!” Harry realizes that an adult is better prepared to protect the philosopher’s stone? There goes the first book.
It’d just be Harry acing his classes, maybe being slightly behind Hermione as she’s a workaholic perfectionist, woo hoo.
The big difference I see is that Harry might actually come to grips with the fact that Dumbledore used and betrayed him. In the seventh book, he’s presented clear evidence through Snape’s memory that Dumbledore fully intended Harry’s death and prepared him for suicide at least from book six onward. Harry meets Dumbledore in purgatory and convinces himself that Dumbledore never really did this to him. Which is... well... Harry... Even Dumbledore the purgatory ghost/hallucination wasn’t really convincing. That said, I’m not sure that’s about intelligence or stupidity, more that Harry’s entire world had shattered and he just can’t deal.
Harry would rather live in blissful denial than ever come to terms with what Dumbledore did to him.
So with that I think the changes are in less random entertaining things would happen. Harry would instead, where possible, be a normal kid attending normal school and we’d wonder why the hell we’re reading this book.
How Would I Change Harry to Make Him a Better Character?
Better character how, and to what end?
There’s nothing inherently wrong with Harry’s character, he’s a basket case who’s dumb as bricks, but he is engaging. The trouble with Harry is that he doesn’t suit the story he’s in or the role he’s playing.
If Harry Potter were a dark satire, where the prophesied hero is a complete jerk who is convinced he saved the day when he never did, and the land festers like a disease never to be saved because the wizards themselves are part of the problem and can’t see it, then Harry is an excellent character and should not be changed in the slightest. The story should just change to acknowledge what Harry is: that douchebag we’ve decided should save us all.
If we’re going with what I think Harry Potter was supposed to be, a story about love and friendship, then Harry has to be a far more compassionate and noble character who even while enduring great hardship never loses the nobility inherent in his spirit. This has nothing to do with his intelligence, really, he can still be dumb as bricks here. This is the direction I would have gone, were I the one writing Harry Potter.
I mean ultimately to change Harry Potter is to really change the entire story, especially if we’re adding something like intelligence.
JKR wanted Harry as a sort of everyman, this to be his great strength over Tom Riddle. Tom Riddle might be a great man, but he’s removed too far from humanity and mired in ambition, while Harry’s one of those Tolstoy peasants who reminds us all of the meaning of life. To make Harry on par intelligence wise with say, Tom Riddle, it takes out one of JKR’s main intentions for Harry as a character which isn’t really the point of this thought exercise.

Light x reader (Lemon)
(Y/N) sat in their seat and stared at the board full of writing. It. Made. No. Fucking. Sense. As much as you tried to work out the problems, you still couldn’t get the correct answer. You continued to stare at the board as the professor added new information. “(Y/N)” you heard from your right. It was L, your childhood friend. He would occasionally flirt with you and asked you out whenever he could but you always said no. You had eyes only for Light Yagami. He was the top of the class and he was extremely handsome. Your conversations with him were brief but it was enough to fill you with joy. Although, today, you decided to play along with L’s flirty game “yesss?” You said with a cutesy smile. L ran his finger across his bottom lip before opening his mouth to speak “(Y/N), I’d like to take you on a date..” he said nonchalantly. You chuckled but didn’t answer.
~Time skip~
Before you could leave the classroom to catch up with your friends, the professor called out to you. “Uh...yea?” You said. “Have you had trouble with this topic? Usually you’re one of my best students but now it seems like your focus is somewhere else...you’re failing my class and I’d like to assign a tutor” the professor paused and looked at his name roster “ah yes, Liight Yagami. He will be your tutor.” “U-uh sure!” Was all you could say. You tried to mask your happiness with a small smile and turned to talk out the door. Later that day, you approached Light and asked him for his contact information and address. He smiled and gave it to you. As you walked away he turned to Ryuk and smirks.
~Time skip~
You approached Light’s house and rang the bell. His mother answered with a smile on her face. “Come in, come in! Light is upstairs” she handed you a tray with different foods and snacks “these are for you guys and your little study date~” you smiled and grabbed the tray.
You knocked on Lights door and seconds later, Light opened the door. “Come in (Y/N) , make yourself comfortable” Light said with a sweet smile. You walked into his room and laid your stuff down near his bed along with the tray of snacks. “Light!” Light’d mother called from downstairs. “Excuse me for a second” Light said before exiting the room. You sat on his bed and thought about taking something of his. You wanted something of his that you could keep with you at all times...You then noticed a drawer. You walked up to it and opened it quickly and a smile crept on your face. You grabbed one of his underwear and walked over to stuff it in your backpack. Before you zipped up your bag, you noticed a small piece of paper on the floor. It looked like it was ripped out a book. You picked it up and turned to throw it away. You spotted a trash can next to Light’s desk and threw it away. Once you turned around you were greeted with a creature you had never seen before. You jumped back in fear. You wanted to say something but nothing came out. “Hey would you mind gettin’ that paper? It said. Your silence only annoyed Ryuk.”Oi! You can see me can’t you? Are ya blind?” He exclaimed. “I see you’ve met Ryuk” a voice said. You looked at the door and you saw Light leaning against the door frame. You didn’t even notice him. He walked in and took a seat at his desk. “My mother and younger sister just left for the market so now would be the best time to tell you” you sat with a confused look on your face. Light pulled out a note-book that read ‘death note’ on the cover. “What’s a Death note?” Light smirked and looked you in the eyes “If I write someone’s name in this note-book...they’ll die” you raised your eyebrow and looked at Ryuk “prove it..and do you happen to have a name?” “It’s Ryuk.” Ryuk said before grabbing a pen and looking at you once again “Who shall it be...?” He asked “I want you to kill my father..” you said. He chuckled “call him...” he said. You thought it was a joke but did it anyway. You pulled out your phone and called your fathers contact number. “Hey (Y/N)~ did ya miss me~” your father said in a way that made you wanna vomit. You didn’t respond, instead you watched as Light began to write your fathers name down. Once he finished writing, he closed the note-book and smirked as he waited for your father to die. Soon after, your father stopped talking and instead started to groan in pain. After a while if struggling, you heard a loud thud through the phone. This left you shocked and also amazed. “Well (Y/N) do you believe me now?” Light asked. You smiled ‘finally! That good for nothing pervert is gone!’ You thought to yourself before hanging up the phone and putting it back in your bag. “I do expect some form of payment...I don’t just kill for people for free” he said “with my body...I can pay you with my body.” Light raised his eyebrow at your bold claim “Fine, let’s see how well you do, slut.” You stood up and walked over to where Light was sitting “on your knees, now” he commanded. You complied quickly and got on your knees and rested your hands on his knees. Light slowly unbuckled his belt and pulled down his pants. You looked him in his eyes and pulled his boxers. His cock was already hard and it was a lot bigger than anything you’ve ever seen. You took the base of his cock into your hands and guided his tip into your mouth. Your lips circled around it as your tongue grazed the tip. He didn’t like being teased so he pushed your head down further into his cock. His hand had a firm grip on your hair and you bobbed your head. His moans were so sweet and you just wanted more. You went faster until Light pulled you off. “I’m not gonna cum in your mouth, slut. You’re gonna my cock aren’t you?” He said with a chuckle. You nodded your head and his infamous grin appeared in his face once again. You removed your shirt and your pants/skirt. Light stood up and removed his clothing. “All fours, now” he commanded once again. You smiled and proceeded I get on all fours, presenting your hole to Light.
He grabbed your hips with force and alighted himself with your hole. “I’ll have to show you what happens when you flirt with other guys.” Without warning, Light plunged into your hole. “Fuck..you’re so big..” you said with a tight grip on his bed sheets. “Ha, I haven’t even started thrusting yet and you’re already so wet...what a cock hungry whore” Light said before landing another smack on your ass. Light started at a slow pace and then eventually started to speed up. “This is what sluts get!” He exclaimed while pounding into you mercilessly. Your moans got louder each time he thrusted into you. “It feels so good~” you were able to say between moans. “Did I say you could speak?” He questioned. Suddenly, Light stopped thrusting. “W-why did you stop?” You said, still trying to catch your breath. “Beg” he stated. “What do you mean- —“ “I said beg for it slut!” You took his aggression as a warning and mustered yo the courage. Finally, you did “please..fuck me” you said “Louder!” Light’s grip tightening on your hips “Please! Fuck me Light!” You said. Light thrusted painfully slow, “f-faster” you said letting out a breathy moan. Light picked up the pace again and you could hear him laughing “such a slut for my cock.” Light grunted loudly and tightened his grip once more. “I’m gonna cum!” You spat out. Second after, you came onLight’s cock. “I’m not done” Light said sternly. After a few more thrust, Light finally came. You both fell onto his bed and fell asleep soon after. After this little study date, Light continued to use the death note for more than one thing~

Your writing is amazing ! I'm a sucker for fluff personally,, so if I have to suggest something,, it'd be cuddles. Just cuddling after a long,, busy day. Maybe in Winter,, a specially cold day,, those are the best days for cuddling,, and more so if it's with such a hot (pfft) monster like Grillby ! Just giving ideas,, I'll be happily reading anything you update here next. Have a nice day. :)
Cold Nights
Pairing: Grillby/Reader
Rating: Everyone
Notes: I’m a sucker for that too! I very much enjoy this suggestion, thank you! Send more any time u like :^> This is set on the surface! Most of the pieces I write will be set this way unless stated otherwise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can’t believe how late it is when you finally begin walking home. Pulling your phone out and pressing the home button tells you it’s only a few minutes away from midnight. Your feet ache, and you want nothing more than to just crawl into bed.
Luckily for you, it isn’t a long walk to Grillby’s from where you are, maybe a little over 5 minutes, but you really hadn’t anticipated it being this cold and blustery out. Then again, you didn’t anticipate your boss holding you back as late as she did either, so you use that as your excuse for being jacket-less. In reality, it probably wouldn’t have been much warmer out even if you did leave on time, but you’re just going to ignore that. You unceremoniously shove your phone back into your pocket and quicken your pace, holding your hands together in an attempt to conserve some of your already waning warmth.
In hopes of distraction, you let your mind begin to wander. Initially your prerogative is “think warm thoughts”, but of course that only leads you to thinking of Grillby. It’s inevitable. He’s the warmest thing you can think of.
You think back to when he first opened up his bar on the surface, and how he would stay open all night, every night. The new influx of customers quickly overwhelmed him, and so he changed his hours to accommodate a new goal of his, one he’d adopted upon reaching the surface. He called it the, “not work myself to death” rule. You, nothing more than a new friend at the time, had laughed at that. It was one of the first jokes he’d made around you. You laugh again now, thinking about how horrible a job he’s done in sticking to his goal. Maybe it’s just unrealistic for him, you muse.
No, that isn’t fair. He drastically changed his hours when he first got here. Underground, he’d been open every day from noon to 3AM. How he’d managed a 15 hour work day every single day all by himself was absolutely beyond you, but he told you that down there, he really didn’t have much else to do.
In a more private setting, after the two of you had grown closer, he confessed that when he lived underground, he felt a sense of obligation to be open as often as possible, to act as a sort of home base for those monsters who were struggling, or just needed someone to help stave off their loneliness.
Here on the surface, things are better! But they’re a lot different too, a lot busier. And so, with some kind pushing from his friends, he had ultimately decided not only to tighten his hours, but to hire some help as well.
You consider that to be the start of a deeper relationship blossoming between the two of you. You had offered to wash dishes and help with cleanup, and he gratefully accepted. You started talking more, spending more time together, and... The rest is history, you suppose.
Now, he takes Sundays off, and closes at 10PM on Mondays. His daily hours are still pretty packed, but he has more servers and kitchen staff to help out with them.
Suddenly, you blink in surprise at yourself as that reminds you of something.
Today’s Monday! That means he should have closed a while ago!
You sent him a text earlier when you found out you would be late home and told him not to worry, but you totally forgot that it was possible for you to end up working later than him. That is a rare occurrence.
Well then!
You become excited at your findings, but quickly realize they mean that he may be sleeping. Rats... You need to be quiet coming in, then.
A chatter sounds in your skull just as the bar comes into view. It isn’t quite snowing out, but the biting, billowing wind is strong enough to drain most of the heat from you. Your fingers feel numb as they blindly wiggle around in your pocket, looking for your keys even though you’re still a little ways away from the front door. By the time you reach it, you’re putting in a pretty significant amount of effort to minimize your shivering and get it unlocked. It’s situations like these that make you thankful to only have a few separate keys to keep track of on your key ring.
The door itself is pretty new, but still creaks lightly as you push it open. Then, you almost lose your grip on the knob when a particularly strong gust of wind shoves you in through the front door. You stumble forward.
Startled as you are, it doesn’t take you long to recover, close the door firmly behind you, and lock it with a huff. You’re just glad no one is around to have seen your little blunder. Hand still on the door, you sigh out your relief. Grillby would definitely be alerted by the door swinging open and slamming into the wall. He’d be alerted if you face-planted into the hardwood flooring, too.
After taking a moment to smooth yourself out and appreciate the internal temperature of the bar, you glance around the dark room. As you expected, tables and chairs are neat, lights are off, and not a speck of dust can be seen. Sometimes you wonder if Grillby gets off on extreme cleaning. You snicker quietly to yourself.
The rise in temperature is great compared to the freezing nightmare you’d endured outside, but it isn’t anywhere near enough to stop your shivering. So you beeline for the staircase that leads to Grillby’s apartment- or more accurately, your ticket to comfort. It’s a little hard to see, and you nearly trip once on the way up, but the reward you’re met with upon entering is well worth it.
Instantly, you’re flushed with a wave of warmth.
Grillby sits on the couch in the living room that faces the door, knuckle pressed to the side of his mouth and book in hand. Your entrance alerts him, and his head turns up so his eyes can meet yours. They look tired. Yours do too.
He can see you shivering still, and it makes him frown. However, the beginning of a small smile finds its way onto his face when he lifts a hand and waves you over. Both of you know what comes next. You step toward him eagerly.
Without a word spoken between the two of you, he places the thick, old looking novel down on the table in front of him, and opens himself up to you. Rather than sitting next to him like he had expected, you opt for plopping down directly in his lap, arms around his shoulders and legs on either side of him. He lets out a surprised grunt, but it quickly dissolves into a chuckle as his arms find their way around your midsection. You relish in the warmth they offer.
“You’re cold.” He starts.
“You’re warm.” You reply, though it’s muffled by the fabric of his thin shirt. He hears you despite this, and a fiery brow quirks up.
“Aren’t I always?” Grillby asks. You can hear the teasing smile in his voice, but nod against him regardless. Thanks to him, you can feel your shivers mostly subside.
“Yea, but I especially appreciate it when it’s freezing out.” Comes your voice once more. Sighing, you feel his arm begin to rub slowly up and down your back, a soothing, sweeping motion that transfers his heat to you even faster. Suddenly comfortable, you’re reminded of how totally exhausted you are.
“I always tell you to bring a coat.” He tries for a chastising tone, but can’t help that it comes out as soft as it does. His voice is just a mumble now, reaching your ears easily despite its low volume. This is in part because he’s taken the liberty of placing his cheek against your head.
“Heh..Yeah...” You concede, burrowing your face further into him. It’s a long moment before you speak again. “I didn’t think you’d be up. Aren’t you tired?” At this question you look up at him as much as your current position will allow, cheek still smooshed into his shoulder.
His response is low, and doesn’t come immediately, which kind of gives you an answer in itself: Yes.
“Mm... I am..” He confirms your suspicion. A little more quietly, he continues. “But you were still out, and...” The elemental’s head lazily tilts, and the flames constantly spiraling off of it follow the movement. You catch him glance out the window. As if wanting to help illustrate his point, another forceful gust of wind rattles it just slightly.
A little guilt twists your stomach. He always worries, and you should have known he would be waiting. You should’ve fought harder to leave on time. You expect he’s going to finish the thought, but you already know where he’s headed, so you preempt him.
“You didn’t need to wait up for me...” You say softly.
The response you get is hushed, but still quite matter-of-fact.
“I did. I wanted to. ...I like going to bed with you.” His tone is so simple, so casual, so... sweet. He’s just speaking honestly, yet it affects you so much. The guilt you feel morphs into adoration, and the feeling makes you grin. You’re sure he can feel it against him, but duck your head back down anyway.
“OK.” Your voice is muffled once more. But the smile in it is audible. A short, breathy hum escapes him, the sound like a sleepy little laugh.
The two of you stay like that for a few minutes, wrapped up in each other. The calm rise and fall of his chest slows further, and the surrounding blanket of his warmth cradles you softly.
You don’t want to, but you eventually have to turn your face to the side. As comfy as he is, it’s a little hard to breathe that way. This movement seems to take him a bit off guard, and rouses him from a drowsiness he’d almost let get the better of him. You feel and hear the deep breath he sucks in as he shifts, bringing himself back off the brink of sleep. He props himself back up against the couch, holding you still as he does. You let out a large yawn, and gently pat his back.
“OK...Time for bed?” You ask quietly. In his sleep-addled state, he can only nod. Without another word, arms around your middle become hands on your waist, and he lifts you off of him and gently places you on the cushion next to him. Slowly he stands, stretching. His flames crackle and pop with the action, and once he’s satisfied he lets out the breath he’d been holding and turns to you with a bright orange hand extended.
For a moment, you consider asking him to carry you. You’re exhausted! But another look at his slightly lopsided posture and barely open eyes reminds you he’s right there with you. So you make do with just grabbing his hand and using it to help pull yourself up. Once you’re on your feet, you two begin a slow stroll to your shared bedroom, and step inside.
The blinds are drawn, so the only light permeating the darkness you stumble around in to change is Grillby himself. You end up in just your underwear and a big T shirt. Following your lead, he removes his own top and bottoms, leaving himself only in his briefs.
It’s only about 45 seconds after you enter the room that both of you are crashing into bed. You simply let yourself fall face first. He as usual is a little more graceful about things, gently lifting the covers for himself, and helping you work your way under them too. Your tired body sings in relief as you sink into the mattress, your back to the flaming monster beside you.
Unsatisfied with this, you fight the sleep off for a little longer to wiggle a bit. A questioning hum leaves him, and by the sound of it, he’s working pretty hard to stay awake too. You turn under the covers, trying not to muss them too much and he seems to get the idea. Warm hands land on your sides again as he helps you turn toward him, eager to pull you closer.
It’s a little brighter when you face him, but that’s never bothered you. Especially not when you’re this worn out. He sighs happily at this change, and his arms circle tightly around you, a hand finding the back of your head and threading itself through your hair.
His digits comb against your scalp ever so gently, drawing a pleased hum from your closed lips. Not many people know (because how could they? He certainly isn’t going around talking about it), but Grillby is quite a physical being. He had some old hang ups that made it hard for him to embrace that about himself at first, and is polite and accommodating to a fault sometimes, but once you’d made him comfortable enough he gave in to his desire to hold you more often, and hold you closely.
Once again, you thank the fucking stars for that. Especially on nights like these. Gone is any trace of the icy chill that consumed you earlier.
Without missing a beat, you place your own hands on his broad back, now giving him the same treatment you had received earlier. He’s larger than you, as most monsters tend to be, but it doesn’t hinder your efforts to gently rub your arm up and down along his spine, fingers only deftly making contact. The hand not doing this splays out across his shoulder blade, then creeps up to rest on the point where his shoulder meets his neck. It wouldn’t be long now for either of you. Your eyelids close, but he looks down at your calm form for a little longer.
A murmured utterance of your name grips the last inklings of your attention. Your eyes slowly drag themselves open again, and a drowsy, “Hmn..?” escapes you. His voice is almost a whisper when he speaks, leaning down so his mouth is closer to your head.
“I love you...” Grillby breathes out. You smile, and lightly kiss whatever of his skin is closest to your lips. That turns out to be a spot on his chest, right under his collar. There’s a small smooching sound as you pull back.
“...Love you too.” You exhale against him. With the last of his effort, he throws a leg over yours, crooking it to bring you closer still, and fully embrace you.
Those are the last words spoken that night. All that follows is the dull crackling of flames and the soft sound of breathing as you both allow your bodies the rest they’ve been aching for.

what are some roles that have been largely changed for cityrune? since you said queen was an influencer now :]
hi ty for asking me im vibrating. havent gotten to talk about this au now for three years and now that chapter 2 is like real and this time i can like........draw occasionally and i have more understanding of nuance...... [grips table] [screams]
this isnt quite what you asked but heres what's everyone from chapter 1 has been Up To with a little bit of context (and under a read more bc it got LENGTHY):
kris - professional stay at home teen (they live w/ asgore n help run the flower shop sometimes. this decision was entirely bc i dont like toriel). was wrongly diagnosed w Sudden Soul Rejection when they were incredibly young and given an experimental transplanted soul as a replacement. it works for them fine, give or take having to see gaster once a month for checkups. but sometimes the soul makes them skittish n decides they're going to sit in front of the pc and play 30 consecutive hours of a certain simulation game and not even let them drown people in the pool. if it were entirely up to them, they'd be like. passing out on the sofa to documentaries about bigfoot. or practicing cool knife tricks to impress their friends at their next tabletop meetup
- EDITED IN: the soul is kind of their friend. they are wearing a hypothetical get along shirt. most of the time, they agree on actions and things to do. tends to refer to themself + their soul as we/us which originally was just something they did in their head but they kept slipping in speech/text n just became a Thing of how they talk. switches to 'I/Me' whenever smth is wrong.
- also edited in: they believe the soul they have is their original soul bc nobody has told them otherwise. whenever theyre like 'oh yeah we think about our soul n view it as a separate entity to us like. all the time. it likes to hurt if we make too many choices it doesn't seem to like and kind of forces us to be a toned down version of what we want to be but thats just how souls are haha' and everyone is like.... 'Hey Kris That's Really Not How It Is.' theyre like. 'huh. gonna ignore that for now' - this was going to be a plot point
toriel - head of H0MEWOR1D (H01)'s department of education; kind of lost her roots as a simple math teacher as she was pushed into a lot of power she didn't even really seek out. divorced asgore over some miscommunications in their relationship; also loosely as a result of grief from asriel's death
asgore - the same. runs a lil flower/gift shop. people come in more to talk with him than to buy flowers most of the time, though
asriel Flowey - he's back in flower form, thanks to the government an accident. causes a lot of technology glitches wherever he goes, and wants revenge. isn't sure how to go about it. asriel "died" around 8 years before the story takes place and kris still misses him and refuses to even THINK about even the IDEA of calling someone their sibling after what happened, just in case it somehow happens a second time
susie - more of the same really. she spends most of her time either at grillby's (she's sort of become his assistant n helps with opening/closing. it just happened) or getting into low-stakes trouble w/ kris
noelle - she's in the city's equivalent of college and shes so tired. shes So Abysmally Tired n got kinda pushed 2 follow in her mom's footsteps. she's rarely around anymore except through text or on monsters & mages (dnd) night. (however.........she will come back w/ a long break n hang out w everyone again)
berdly - tbh i didnt even consider berdly when i made the au initially. idk what he's doing. probably in a similar situation to noelle??? canonically got kicked out of the M&M group due to clashes w/ other players but lurks in their group chat to posts memes sometimes
didnt rly think of any other of kris' classmates (+ their families) after ch1 and probably will continue to not, until chs 3-5 come out and i gotta whip up roles and histories for like. a lotta guys all of a sudden. i also forgot about noelle's parents
sans - runs a convenience store that everyone kind of thinks is a front, but also it has really cheap snacks and the local teens make a point of stopping there after school. so essentially, more of the same papyrus - similar to ut. is a very polite and sweet boy but you'll know when he's coming
grillby - he's back. he runs a bar like back in ut but the cozy vibes and weird-for-a-bar hours keep attracting kids who need parents, so half of his menu is comprised of overly sweet mocktails. usually only frequented by monsters
QC - same as usual. has a "rivalry" with grillbz but, theyre besties and have a book club
mettaton - he's real and he's back. he's similar to how he is back in ut w/ his EX body. likes to hang out at grillby's and talk to unsuspecting fans. has a show for everything
napstablook - similar to how they are in ut. helps mtt with making music sometimes. doesn't leave the house too often, but spends a lot of time posting on undernet
undyne - unfortunately. more of the same. she is a cop in the monster district. i am also upset by this but couldn't think of anything better for her
alphys - a doctor studying under dr. gaster in the hopes she'll one day take over his research. she spends most of her time as a nurse with a bigger title, though, and blocks out the weirdness of her job with anime.
gaster - weird guy. H01's top soul researcher and resident House wannabe. trying to manufacture the ultimate soul that can be controlled with simple internal switches, but so far he's only had 1 (very limited) success with a certain human. monsters just melt, and darkners just sorta......get weird... he's onto Something, though.
ralsei - lonely boy with some very strange hobbies. popular on UnderNet for poetry, baking videos, and general cryptid vibe. is the DM for the monsters & mages group (also seems to think everything is actually very fine in H01 when it is very much not)
lancer - about the same. professional Round Boy. lives w/ rouxls full time. follows susie around like a lost puppy and calls himself her "underling."
rouxls - runs a hotel/casino kind of deal where the objective Bad Guys hang out, and usually ends up doing any of the spade king's paperwork.
spade king - mafia godfather. kind of a dick. don't play cards with him
seam - works with the spade king as his right hand cat more or less because they have for a lot of years and are in that 'sunk cost fallacy' zone. thinks of retiring to a quiet life in the monster section of town like, daily
jevil - used to work with the spade king, but got imprisoned for Crimes. got weird after The Accident (separate from asriel's accident)
temmies (all) - dont really get mentioned except offhandedly but they run the monster space station. so far, are the only monsters who have ever been to space.
as far as chapter 2 goes:
yeah i dont have much so far for characters. in the original version of the au i accidentally made darkners as a whole just kinda..... not great? like all sorts of weird organized crime ties n sort of going out of their way to be A Problem to the city (not even in like. a revolution way. in a working against them but with the same goals kinda way). with the whole context it worked At The Time, bc i just had the spade king to look to as a villain, and also in this au the darkners are just trying to survive a world that ultimately was not built for them (that humans think they own, and monsters sort of... seeing this and wondering what it'll mean for them whichever one wins), but w/ new info abt how the dark world works n more guys to work with i want to kind of. edit the vibe a bit. like yea darkners will ultimately do whatever it takes to take over H01, but maybe in a better way than like. idk. all this. it doesnt have to be peaceful or anything it just has to be more adaptable as we meet more kinds of darkners
however yeah i thought up 'queen as some sort of childless mommy blogger/influencer' and that completely revived all memory i had of this au. she should be on mtt's talkshow. also she sells collectible wine glasses w/ her likeness
spamton is another one of gaster's failed soul experiments, but he hasn't melted yet, and seems............fine? sort of. so he hasn't gotten decommissioned yet. he does want to give you malware tho. hot monster singles in your area n all that
im blanking on the rest of the guys but i hope any of this was comprehensible

Oooooo girl I love these prompts!!! For a wild one hows about Robb Stark with genre3 trope2 and locashion7????
A Promise to the Moon
Robb Stark x Reader - 3873 Words - More Freaky Fics
Notes: This is a a dark fic, a Gothic Romance!AU in the style of Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, it features references and occasional quotes from both. I also emulated the writing style (prose and exposition heavy).
The requested prompts were: haunted house/ghost story, memento mori, and a secluded castle/manor. The ghost elements got lost as I wrote it- sorry!
Warnings: a toxic/icky relationship with controlling/possessive behavior (just like the ones in the afformentipmed novels), the word “fuck” is used once, light smut, dated health methods like leeches and bloodletting, major character death. There is no happy ending, Enjoy Responsibly ❤️

“Let the wind come shake me down! /Deliver me closer to the ground/ I made a promise to the moon.” -Jason Webley
The newspaper advertisement had asked for educated persons of age to apply for the position in person. The grand Winterfell Estate sat desolate among the moors, fog-covered bogs and copses of sickly forests mottled the land and turned the beautiful countryside into a crypt.
The owner and solicitor, a Mister Stark, had requested a tutor for his troubled little sister the estate’s only current inhabitant.
The locket around your neck held your mother’s portrait and served as your only reminder of the life you once lived. Lost in a strange and new place you relied on its familiar weight for comfort.
As you approached the Estate you noticed their family name was carved into the arch above the wooden door. It announced you as an intruder, and your locket confirmed you as an outsider. It made you miss the place you once called home.
The Housekeeper was more than amiable and the child, Arya as you learned she was called, was a verifiable genius. You knew instantly she would benefit from one-on-one specialized instruction. As for Mister Stark, he had yet to appear around the estate- the Housekeeper herself interviewed and appointed you to the position.
The work itself was exhausting and after a week of it, you were desperate for a brief moment of solitude. Arya was never satiated, her thirst for life and adventure outpaced any sort of book work and left you aching from chasing her around.
It was past midnight, the moon already hidden in the vast inky sky when you slunk into the sitting room. You lit the lamps and settled in with one of the many tomes that adorned the room. The pages felt brittle under your fingertips and you turned them ceaselessly.
An accented voice pulled you from the book’s pages, the shock made you snap the book closed harder than you would’ve liked.
“Now what’s a decent sort like you doing out of bed at this hour?”
A man leaned against the entryway, a smile on his face that made you feel exposed and downright sinful. The dark brown of his eyes was mirrored in the curls of his hair which were highlighted with light licks of a scandalous silver that seemed to sparkle under the sparse candlelight.
He smirked and it felt like you were falling through the floor. You could see luggage behind him in the hallway and you wondered why the Housekeeper hadn’t been alerted- and why you hadn’t been warned of such a distinguished intrusion.
“Certainly Sir, you know I cannot answer that,” you said shortly.
You rose quickly, shelved the book, and turned to leave. It was late and the entire situation was highly improper- yet he blocked your path a cheeky grin on his face.
“Have I frightened you?” He taunted you with a wolfish grin, and you felt your face grow hot.
“I am not frightened,” you lied smoothly, “I just wish to retire for the evening.”
He laughed openly seeing right through you. He stepped aside anyway but caught your wrist as you passed. You froze instantly and trembled as he brought your knuckles to his lips. “Goodnight then,” he spoke with a smirk the strange concoction of trepidation and intrigue evident as you pulled away and ran from the room.
It wasn’t until you were secure in your room, your hands clasped over your thundering heart, that you realized he must’ve been your employer whose portrait hung in the very hallway you just ran through.
You struggled to fall asleep, staring up at the ceiling until you thought shapes were starting to appear in the darkness. Yet you must’ve as the next thing you remembered was a burst of light and a loud noise waking you up.
“Oh me!” The Housekeeper wailed, as she announced herself in your chambers the next morning. You winced as she threw open the damask drapes, the sunlight almost blinding.
“I need you to keep Arya on her best behavior today,” she started ranting pulling your clothes out for the day in a flurry, “Mister Stark has returned and the entire west wing must be prepared immediately so I cannot manage the little miss!”
Typically the staff was prepared to assemble his rooms at a moment's notice. The estate’s Master was known to appear and disappear for any length of time at will.
You let the Housekeeper prepare you, and lead you to the same sitting room for your formal introduction. As you entered the room Robb eyed you hungrily and you knew the setting was chosen intentionally.
Embarrassment washed over you as the previous night’s run-in resurfaced in your mind. The only thing you could do was make a heaven out of hell, so you bolstered what confidence you could. No matter how charming and handsome he might be, he wouldn’t win the satisfaction of seeing your unease.
The Housekeeper cleared her throat and shuffled forward, “may I introduce-“
“Mister Stark,” you said smartly cutting her off and gliding forward. You could feel her ire at your break in tradition but knew this was the best way to regain some control over the situation. You smiled coyly and shook his hand with as much indifference as you could muster despite the anticipatory anxiety building in your body.
“Robb, please,” he insisted lightly. He watched you like a cat might watch a mouse and you felt a shiver course through your body as he openly looked over it.
“Is this proper enough an introduction?” The sarcastic lilt to his voice matched his devilish smirk, and you had to admit it was a good look for him.
“You’ll have to forgive me I’m often wary of new faces,” you said sitting across from him, “especially those belonging to nefariously enigmatic gentlemen.”
Robb laughed openly, and in a manic burst of motion took your hand in his. Your heart raced at his slight touch and you tried your best to suppress the smile on your face.
“And how do you find Winterfell? Is she fitting for such a roguish bachelor?”
Your smile faltered briefly, “the estate is beyond magnificent but, I can’t help feeling as if her halls ought to have more life within them.”
Robb nodded to the Housekeeper who still lingered in the doorway, “I do believe that is the first honest answer I’ve ever been given on the subject.”
“It would seem so Sir,” she chirped dutifully.
“Well perhaps I shall extend my stay,” he said a wicked smile spreading across his face as he turned his gaze back to you, “and see what other truths you might impart upon me.”
The Housekeeper made a small disgruntled noise in protest before leaving to summon Arya into the sitting room to formally receive her brother. Apparently, you weren’t the only one to gain her disapproval.
Within the short moment, Robb stood and crossed to stand over you. You titled your face towards him unconsciously, his face close enough to feel his breath on yours as he spoke.
”You intrigue me, ” he said, desire palpable in his voice, ”I will not suffer to let you go again when I wish to become better acquainted.”
You could feel the underlying threat in his words but the temptation to close the space between you eclipsed whatever caution lived in your mind.
You couldn’t explain what drew you to him, despite your better judgment. The only comfort you had was knowing how similarly affected he was by you. Your breath hitched in your throat as he suddenly backed away.
Arya bounded into the room not a moment later, the now frazzled Housekeeper rushing behind her trying to contain the girl. You smiled as they appeared, thankful for the distraction.
The next week was filled with similar close calls filled with double entendres, lingering touches, and companionship like you had never known before. After a month had passed in such a manner it was clear why he was staying- and the house dared to dream that for once he might stay forever.
Like most dreams, it was better left ignored. On another night you strolled under the moonlight along the estate’s often forgotten terraces. Robb held you by the waist as you walked, his grip lower and harsher than would’ve been deemed appropriate. Occasionally, the moon peaked out to reveal a scandalous state of undress on your part, the casual clothes betraying the growing familiarity between you two.
“Winterfell is stunning under the stars, is it not?” Robb glanced at you while speaking and you thought he also looked magnificent highlighted by the cosmos.
You nodded in agreement looking out over the estate’s grounds and gardens.
"You must have become in some degree attached to the house?"
“To a degree,” you answered wryly.
"Arya seems to have become quite attached to you, and I’m willing to wager you to her as well,” Robb continued.
You hummed in agreement, “I believe there is a mutual attachment forming. She’s an extraordinary child."
Robb stopped walking suddenly and turned you harshly in his arms to face him. All traces of levity had melted from his face, replaced with a drastic seriousness you hadn’t expected. “And you would be sorry to part with them?”
You ran your hand over his reassuringly. “I think some part of me will be here always.”
Robb kept a level expression as he continued, waiting to gauge your reaction as he spoke. “Then it is indeed regrettable that Arya must attend a finishing school next year.”
You froze beside him, “next spring?”
Robb nodded solemnly, “I’ve talked it over with her nursemaid and the Housekeeper they both agree you’ve done wonders for her mind but- the decorum benefiting a lady of our station is not something a tutor can impart.”
He paused and spoke then as if he was reassuring himself of the decision, instead of revealing it to you. “So yes, it is imperative she attends a finishing school.”
“Then I must inquire toward other positions,” you mused suddenly afraid the ground under your feet might fall away beneath you.
“Would you be grieved to leave then? I know some schools might permit a lady’s maid to accompany her,” Robb shrugged, “it is the least I could do.”
You tensed and bit your lip, “for her sake I might be able but it is so far away...”
“From what?”
“From you!” You spoke headlessly, finally voicing the thoughts and desires that had grown within you.
“Then I must ask you,” he said hoarsely as if he was unsure for the first time, “forsake neither Arya nor the estate itself, pass through the rest of your life here.”
Your silence unnerved him and you wondered what joke he was playing at. He was by the designation of your employment your superior, he had occasionally offered you crumbs of affection and attention- yet you felt he must know your feelings towards him- and that this was some cruel joke on your behalf.
“Do you doubt me,” he asked when you didn’t answer.
"Entirely,” you said without hesitation. He was too unknown for certainty, too reckless and listless for dependence.
He scoffed openly at your response, "so you have no faith in me?"
"Not a whit."
“Then you shall be convinced,” he hissed gesturing wildly, “have I not treated you as my equal? Have I not entertained your thoughts and whims as I might a dearest friend? Have I not watched you like a man possessed? You strange, you almost unearthly thing,” he gripped your arm tracing the length of it with frenzied kisses, “you will be mine. I shall not suffer your absence in my life!”
You shuddered, a peculiar sob racking through your body as he entreated you.
“I- I cannot answer this,” you cried tearing yourself away, “I cannot choose between my heart and my mind. I cannot see how you love me but rather desire to possess me- and for what love I hold for you, I cannot yet resign my fate so quickly.”
He turned away from you harshly, familiar darkness returning to his eyes. “Then think on these things,” he demanded before stalking away, “I cannot remain here for you to torture me so!”
You could not retreat to your rooms and drop into the soothing arms of sleep, your mind was twisted and confused. What kind of a man manipulated your emotions as a declaration of love? Moreover, what kind of man could confuse love and possession so easily? Your thoughts remained dower as the sleepless night raced on.
As you joined Arya and the Housekeeper for breakfast the next morning you were disheartened to learn Robb had left again.
Two months passed without a word from Rob to you or any persons in his household. Although the grand estate was filled with other employees and your charge- his absence left you strangely cold. But perhaps that was the changing air drifting in from the study’s open window.
“Arya please,” you sighed, “finish the recitation and we can move on for the day.” You rubbed a hand over your temple, your patience growing thin with the young mistresses.
“I don’t want to keep reading boring old books! I want to go outside!” Arya whined as she dramatically closed and pushed the book away from her.
The poor thing had been acting out lately, and it was wearing you down. You sighed and tried to sound as encouraging as possible, “Arya as soon as we finish here I’ll have the Housekeeper scrounge up your play clothes.”
Arya huffed and pushed the stack of books off her desk and onto the floor before crossing her arms belligerently, “I won’t do it!”
“Is that any way to talk to your tutor?”
You looked over at the interruption, Robb leaned against the doorframe with a smile on his face that made you feel as if you were seeing the sun for the first time in days.
Arya shrieked excitedly at the sight of her brother and bolted from her chair to wrap her arms around him as much as she could. She babbled in great run-on-sentences trying to condense the last month without him into whatever fragment of time she currently had.
He listened politely, the entire time his eyes never left yours. “Arya, it is clear to me that you’ll have no capacity for more studies today,” he said, finally looking at his sister, “why don’t you take the dogs and see what you can discover outside?”
Arya howled and ran from the room, you could hear her rapid footfalls and exaggerated cries rousing the Housekeeper and kennel master to her aid.
Then it was just you and Robb. You stood rapidly and all but threw yourself into his arms. You moved without thinking, unsure if you could survive another second apart. He pulled you flush against him, his strong grip threatened to bruise your hips and you didn’t care. You rested your hands against his chest, unable to hide the smile on your face before you kissed him.
“I suppose this means you haven’t been preparing to completely divorce yourself from the estate,” Robb joked dryly.
“No,” you said a little dejectedly, “how could I, knowing you’re out in the world somewhere.”
You looked away from him suddenly overwhelmed, “It was like I couldn’t breathe like my life-my very soul was separated from me.”
You tried to step away but Robb didn’t relinquish his hold on your waist and moved a hand to keep yours on his chest.
“You’ve absolutely ruined me,” he hissed tightening the grip on your wrist, “do you think I wanted to come back? Do you think I want to be here right now?”
“Let go of me,” you gasped struggling against him your face heated with indignation.
For a second the confidence and malice in Robb’s voice faltered, “stay- do not leave me where I cannot find you!”
“But I didn’t go anywhere,” you insisted, “I’ve been right here doing what I was hired to do.” You were trembling, no longer trying to escape his embrace yet not entirely afraid.
Robb laughed darkly and kissed the top of your head, “you’ve bewitched me body and soul, like some heathen wretch. You pulled me back here. You command me when I have no desire to be commanded.”
He moved to grip your jaw and turn your face to look up into his, the image was striking. You looked spent, as if he’d taken you- your body warm and trembling against him, your breaths shallow and rushed.
“If you left this room I would find you,” he whispered his voice low and heady, sending a shiver down your spine. “If you tried to leave this house I’d track you down.”
“Sir, you forget yourself,” you said lowly. Your voice threatening to break as your body responded wantonly.
“Do I?” He laughed darkly and moved to kiss down the column of your neck pulling phantom moans from your lips. His breath fell warm on your neck and you shuddered as his hand released your jaw and traveled to rest at the base of your neck.
You heard him kick the door closed behind you and a new spark of excitement and fear spread through your body.
The slight pressure at the base of your neck made you ache deliciously. You didn’t stop the strangled moan that fell from your lips as his grip tightened and you chose to put whatever doubts you had away for the moment. You wanted it to be you and him without context or strings to complicate what you were about to do.
Robb released you only to tear at your clothes, his hands running harshly over each flash of newly exposed skin until the locket around your neck was the only thing you wore. You wantonly returned the favor scraping your nails across his broad shoulders, savoring each groan that slipped from his lips.
You pressed yourself against him, your bodies skin-to-skin as the tension grew. Each touch was dizzying as if your bodies had been molded to respond to each other. His mouth claimed yours again before biting his way down your neck and you moaned as they bloomed into warm bruises.
“Robb please,” you begged your body no longer content with lingering touches and harsh passes of lips and teeth. You said his name like it was the only prayer you ever learned- the only one that mattered.
Almost tenderly he laid you down across one of the study’s couches. His fingers softly traced the side of your body as if for that second he was truly in awe of your form. He ducked his head to kiss your chest, your locket falling back against your shoulder sending a flash of light across your body.
You impatiently reached and pulled him over you, weaving a hand through his hair as you moved him into a searing kiss. You felt him against you and you desperately hooked one of your legs around his hip urging him forward until nothing separated you.
You lay trembling under him, your grip on his shoulders the only real thing in the world until a ferocious rapping started at the closed door. You both froze hoping whoever it was would move on, instead, you could hear the Housekeeper muttering to herself as the knocking continued.
Finally, she called through the door, “Lady Arya has requested your presence for tea.”
Robb swore and pushed away from you hastily donning his clothes.
“Fuck,” you mumbled grasping wildly to cover yourself as Robb stormed from the room shouting at the Housekeeper the entire time.
Without looking at you she slid into the room, keeping herself turned away as you redressed.
“I do not apologize for the intrusion given the improper extenuating circumstances,” she said tersely, “but we will be taking tea alone as soon as you’re no longer... indisposed.”
“I see no reason why we should take tea alone,” you protested, “Arya would certainly fear something was amiss given our absence.”
She spun to face you her face still composed into a stern line, “it is precisely for Arya’s sake that I am concerned.” You had never heard her voice like that before and suddenly you felt like you were a child again being scolded at primary school without companions to defend you.
It was a trap; that was the only thing you were certain of as you sat across the wisened Housekeeper a pristine tea set between you.
“You are aware Mister Stark is our employer,” she said with a terse smile.
“Yes Ma’am I do.”
The older woman across from you pursed her lips and took a measured sip of her tea. “This has happened before,” she started quietly, “you don’t know what you’re getting into. He is too stern for grace, an unreclaimed creature.”
“He's more myself than I am,” you whispered harshly unable to meet the Housekeeper’s eyes.
“You will ruin this house if you stay,” she hissed reaching across the table to grip your arm. “There will be no going back if you give into him, think of Arya...”
You remembered the darkness behind his eyes, the harsh grip of his hands on your hips, and knew she was just as correct as you were- despite that you could feel the familiar tug in your heart that connected you and knew you couldn’t leave.
Of course, she had seen this passion play before. The ending was known to her, it was written on the estate’s walls plainly for everyone but you and your charge who hoped beyond measure for the happy ending that would not be coming.
Robb spent the next thirteen months within the claustrophobic walls of his grand estate, his venomous temper directed at everyone when they felt too restrictive. But he couldn’t fathom leaving with you there and unclaimed, unwatched, and unprotected.
Your frenzied romance and rushed engagement distracted you to no end. By the time you realized something was wrong your face refused to hold any color, and your entire body ached with pain and fever. The first time he left the estate grounds was to fetch your doctor. But, in essence, it was too late.
“Robb,” you called reaching for him. You struggled to breathe and the contented sigh on your lips disfigured itself into a ghastly groan that made your lover weep.
Your locket dangled from his hands like a rosary and you wondered if that strange blasphemous reverence played a part in this destruction.
Neither the leeches placed along the curve of your hip nor the soft drops of blood let from your arm could prevent the advancing cold that spread in your veins and eventually closed your eyes.
Your strangled coughs stopped, the air in your lungs ran cold and your blood stopped running altogether. The thin red lines flowing from your lips and skin dried and all at once, the bloody affair was over. There was no fanfare, the world didn’t end. Winterfell and her Master remained as they had for the last forty years and would for forty more without you. Nestled into the sparse and desolate countryside your ghost couldn’t even be tempted forth for comfort.

Pettigrew’s Betrayel
a/n - marauders oneshot! if there any spelling mistakes im super sorry, most of this was written at almost 4 am so yea! enjoy!
Pettigrew was just initiated into Lord Voldemort's death eaters.
To show your loyalty, you are assigned to murder someone from the Order of the Pheonix.
Peter Pettigrew was assigned to kill Remus Lupin.
-
Peters's hands shook as he gathered teacups, to set them up in a fancy manner.
Being assigned to kill Remus, Peter knew he couldn't do it with the killing curse, so he decided to go to old school.
Peter dug into old memories, and new Remus was allergic to Cinnamon. So, he was going to put a bunch of it into his tea.
As Peter put the last of the tea and biscuits on the fancy plate, he heard the special knock on his door. He had told Remus to knock like that when he got here so he knew it was him.
Peter quickly walked over to the door and undid the locks, and there was Pettigrews scarred, best friend, Remus Lupin.
oh, merlin this was going to be hard.
"Hiya Pete!" Remus's raspy beamed kindly.
"Hi, Moony.."
"You alright? Seem a bit off, is everything okay?" Remus asked in a concerned tone.
"Yea-yea everything alright. Fancy some tea?" Peter replied, unable to look Remus in the eye.
"Yes please."
Remus then took a seat on the small, leather couch, with his hands folded in his lap.
Peter hadn't fully comprehended how hard this would be. He had always been closest to Remus through their years in Hogwarts. Remus was always the one to stand up to the other Marauders whenever they said something crude to Peter.
"Doesn't seem like Pete has a problem with being hungry, now does he?" Sirius chuckled. James toppled over from the couch onto the floor.
"Shut the fuck up Sirius, at least Peter can get girls without trying so hard." Remus retorted back nonchalantly as he read a page from a book.
"Moony?!"
"What?"
"Why did you say that?"
"Because I ... wanted to?"
James started wheezing from laughter, "Nice one, Moony."
"Shush James, you still need to mess up your hair for Lily to notice you."
Now, Sirius and Peter were laughing.
"You down bad for that one Moony." James wiped fake tears from his face.
Sirius and James had already gone back to talking about something,
"Thank you, Moony," Peter whispered into his ear.
"No problem Pete, that's what friends are for."
"Here you are." Peter placed the fancy plate onto the table in front of the couch. The plate had a ceramic teapot and the cups filled with tea.
Peter picked up the teacup, and took a ship, hands shaking uncontrollably.
"What kind of tea is this? Smells like Citrus and.."
oh shit, oh shit, oh shit
"Cinnamon."
Peter abruptly stood up, drawing his wand. All Remus did was stay calm, setting down the teacup.
"So, your one of them now?" Remus sat back on the couch.
"Yea..yes." Pettigrew's hand began to spasm and shake, they became sweaty, making him grip his wand so tight that his knuckles began to pale.
"Why me? Pete...Why?" Remus's lip started to quiver, tears threatening to spill. What Peter hadn't noticed, was that Remus started to fidget with a gold watch linked around his wrist.
"I wanted to be a part of something, something that finally accepted me! And all I have to do is wipe you out with one spell.. and kts all over for you, and your stupid order." Peter spat, still tears falling freely down his cheeks.
"Oh come on Peter, we could've had it all, you know that."
"No, not we, you. You guys had it, we're going to have everything. And I finally got the chance to get what I deserve."
Remus hadn't realized how Peter was feeling all these years, being ridiculed and humiliated by their friends.
"Oh, Pete..."
"No! Stop pitying me! Goddamnit Lupin, I'm sick and tired of your pitying my bullshit. I've finally done what I've needed to do for a long time, and I'm starting with you."
"All we've ever done was try to be your friend. You have every right to be upset with us if you feel like that. I'm really sorry..." Remus started standing up, hands in front of him, walking close to him.
Remus didn't flinch when Peter started waving his wand in his face more.
As Remus started to get closer he brought the little gold watch and mumbled something incoherent to Peter into it.
Then they heard it.
Three loud cracks, the sound of three people apparating. Lily, James, and Sirius.
"What...What are they doing here?!"
Before Peter knew it, he had been disarmed by James, and Remus had his wand.
"Well, Let's see. You invited me here out of the random." Remus started to walk around the room, as Sirius, James, and Lily had wands drawn all around Peter.
"Which you don't do, because well, we're in the midst of a bloody war, with a spy" Remus spat the last word like venom in his mouth.
Remus had known for a while Peter was the mole, he could tell by the smell of his fear when around other order members, and saw when he listened closely when they talked about the prophecy.
"I knew you would probably try to do something to me here, so I took matters into my own hands. I told Dumbledore about it, and that's how he granted me, and them to catch you." He gestured to the three people behind him with his hands.
"As we speak, the Aurors, Ministry, and Dumbledore will be here any second. Meanwhile, have anything to say?"
"I'm so...so sorry! I..I-"
"You're not sorry, you can take your sorry ass and cry about it in your Azkaban cell." Sirius spat.
And with that, Peter Pettigrew was taken away by Aurors, and sentenced to an unknown amount of time.
