A bit niche, but I can't get this beautiful performance out of my head (thanks to Hozier for liking it on Insta or I might have missed it).

In tribute to Cork musician Thalos (Eoin French), who recently died of cancer age 36, a collection of artists performed a version of his song "We Didn't Know We Were Ready" on Irish TV last weekend. It's so gentle and meditative, and you can feel their grief and love for him. Beautiful.

damn didn’t expect to be near weeping on a Friday morning but years ago at my mother’s birthday party, my annie sang the parting glass in memory of her grandmother, and this year we went to the boygenius gig with ye vagabonds supporting, and she told me the lads from ye vagabonds will sometimes visit her grandfather, who knows so much about music and local history, and today boygenius and ye vagabonds released their rendition of the parting glass, and there’s something in there about connection, the distance between us all and how it is not really that far, and god I love my friend so much and I’m so grateful I get to tell her
