  he’d had a migraine all morning. more particularly, when he was awake. he was attempting to sleep the day away since he was actually OUT of pills to pop or something to drink, face down in mara’s couch. the last thing he wanted was to get up, face the day, and find somewhere else to sleep--especially because he was out of money, which meant no drugs, no booze, and no food. so this time when mara attempts to wake him up, he just groans in response, turns over, and rubs hands over his face.

  “ mara. please. kill me. i just want to sleep. like, forever. ” he sighed, voice groggy.

so  she’d  slipped  and  left  behind  a  witness  .  oops  .  not  like  serena  will  do  anything  about  it  .  then  again  ,  she  could  always  just  threaten  .  nothing  in  her  moral  code  said  she  couldn’t  scare  a  woman  into  silence  .  but  then  again  ——

     ‘  don’t  you  read  the  news  ?  they  raped  a  girl  in  their  cruiser  .  they  had  it  coming  .  ’
