Twitter is actual hell for artists

Minors can really get on this app on just say whatever the fuck they want about others regardless of whether or not it’s actually true and get 22k likes for doing so, I can’t with this.

And of COURSE this motherfucker HAS to make excuses too for why they’re looking at NSFW stuff in the 1st place, fuckin slimy ass bitch.

Absolute worst part  about this whole thing is that the artist they were harassing (homunculus100_) was a guy who lost his leg to cancer and made fetish art to try and cope with it. They drove him off the platform based off of fucking nothing.

And of COURSE their clown ass is trying to downplay this by saying it wasn’t meant to be a callout post, like that magically absolves them of any part they had in the harassment.

💚: how long have you been working on it?

i started the outline on august 29th :^) so like, a month more or less. writing-wise i’d say two to three weeks! 

🖤: what are your MC names?

there’s kevin and the not-kevins (andreil) but also: robin (you asked if she’s an oc -- she’s not! she’s the ONLY part of the ec i actually like; she’s the freshman who ends up getting adopted by the monsters a year or two post canon), river (kevin’s teammate & honorary best friend), yonah (captain to kevin’s new team), gigi (robin’s gf! she’s one of the vixens), and so on! i went a little bit batshit on the characterizations to be honest. if i got a dollar for every pinterest board i’ve done for this fics’ characters...

💔: give a brief character bio of your 3-5 MCs

since kandreil are literally kandreil and i haven’t changed much of them character-wise, here are a few of the characters i’ve come up with: 

river yazzie: river is the first oc i made for this fic and the fellow newbie to kevin’s new team, the south carolina stingrays. they’re a goalkeeper who used to play for penn state but had to abandon exy during their senior year due to an injury! they’re an indigenous genderqueer person who end up getting constantly paired up with kevin during their first weeks at practice for being the only other new addition to the team, hence why they become friends :D river spent their first 13 years in a reservation until they moved in with their dad, who had a drinking problem river learned how to help with since young, which is what makes kevin cling to them during team events, since river is good at keeping him away from alchohol 

yonah abeles: the stingrays’ captain and also an ex-penn state player!!!! she’s responsible for river’s addition to the team and also for kevin & river’s settling-in process, given the stingrays’ were a fairly stable team with very few additions/retirements before the two of them were added to the line up. she’s the first oc to actually appear -- after kevin’s hospitalization, she shows up at his house with a get well soon gift from the team :) she’s not as sunshine and butterflies as river is, but she’s as harsh and observative as kevin on the court, which is why he respects + clings to her a lot during his first practices

gigi, actually evgeniya: she’s a russian-american vixen who, upon her first meeting with the monsters, took to lying her ass off about having an accent and speaking russian at all. she’s an acting major who would have forged an entire new life for herself to them hadn’t it been for robin, whom she thought was pretty and nice enough to not lie to for fun. they meet at edens by pure accident; robin shakingly punches a dude for being too forceful in his approach and gigi only so happened to be the girl at the receiving end of said approach

sidney morales: one of the stingrays’ players, she’s a single mom whose child she brings along with to practice every now and then. she becomes acquaintances-friends with kevin for being the one who hosts most dinner parties for the team, and because her kid, a six year old named max, keeps asking kevin the weirdest questions that get the weirdest answers. have you ever seen famous striker kevin day cower at the sight of a six year old asking him if he lives on the court? she has! <3

daniel ferreira: the brazilian stingrays’ player who first approached kevin during practice! he’s known in the exy media for taking a knee during the national anthem during the last olympics, an act kevin publicly defended him for after the vicious backlash he got for it, which was his motivation to even attempt at being friends with kevin at all once they were in the same team. daniel’s girlfriend, sarah zhong, is also a stingray, and they’re the nicest couple in the world :D

💓: is it part of a series or standalone?

[rubs hands together in evil manner] you see. if everything goes well, i want to write a past-past-canon fic where it’s kandreil’s domestic life as a couple of pro exy players who live under the same roof! it would mostly just be their shenanigans + moving in together and getting used to it all over again + exploring soft moments i wouldn’t be able to write in the name of the game because they’re not stable and established enough yet

💘: give us a huge spoiler

I’M SO BAD AT GIVING SPOILERS ADMITTEDLY...... i keep thinking of what to say and i just can’t come up with anything that doesn’t sound lame!!! my spoiler is that this fic touches on the choking incident in depth and in its universe kevin spent six months fighting nonstop with andrew about it, to the point where he refused to be within andrew’s vicinity outside of practice and moved out of the dorms to stay with wymack’s for a good 2-3 months. during this period kevin and aaron actually became friends, which is why kevin moves in with nicky and aaron for a brief period. he’s only back to living with andreil after robin is added to the group, and he tells andrew to his face that it’s out of sheer worry for her, because he knows how much of an asshole andrew can be and he doesn’t want it to happen again. 

they do, eventually, come together once more: the silver lining for their relationship is a point in time where andrew corners kevin and tells him to hit him back, which kevin refuses to do, but can more or less understand how guilty andrew must feel if he’s offering a vulnerability like that to make them even. after that it’s a lot of join sessions with betsy and rekindling their relationships through new deals (kevin makes andrew promise to never, ever, ever try to control him again), those of which guarantee that their relationship does not have a power imbalance like it used to have. this is important to the fic because a lot of their relationship stems from that time, and the consequences of their fight linger a lot on kandreil. needless to say, this was also a very troubling time for neil

I am tired of people telling me or other people that they aren’t ‘real Hispanics’ or a real anything. I mean, who are you to tell me who they are? You do not know how they live or who they are. Just because people do not speak a language perfectly does not make them any less connected to their culture. I am Ecuadorian and Salvadorian, and i do not speak the perfect Spanish but I do practice a lot of my cultures traditions since a love my culture and am proud of being latina. lastly just because someone or you may practice more traditions of you culture or speak the language of your people does not make you a ‘better Hispanic person’ and it does not give you the right to tell some they are less than you.This is enough ranting for now though sooo....

Miss Navajo Nation Accused of Being Communist

WINDOW ROCK- One staple of fair time is Miss Navajo Nation passing out candy during the parades. She does it with grace and many complimented her for “walking in beauty”. Every Miss Navajo Nation goes through the ritual and the kids love it. Many parents cheer as the pageant winner makes her way through the road.

This year, the Navajo Nation Republican Party accused the Miss Navajo Nation of being a communist. They released a statement pertaining to the accusations on their Facebook page.

“We believe that the communists are infiltrating the tradition of the Navajo Nation. We are noticing that the pageant winner is distributing candy in the same fashion and ideology of the Communist’s Russians. We noticed that she is giving it equally amongst the children. She is also handing it to each child. We believe that competition is necessary for children to develop themselves. She should not be making it easy for the kids”.

Tlo’chi’iin reached out the Facebook page manager about the accusations, they were reluctant to speak to us but gave in. Tlo’chi’iin kept poking the Facebook page and eventually they settled for an interview.

Tlo’chi’iiin met them at Mutton Alley. The clouds were drifting through the thoughts of vendors and consumers. Mutton smells hung heavy in the flea market space. Jack Yazzie, the current administrator of the Navajo Republican Facebook page, nervously made his way towards us.

Mr.Yazzie jumped right into it.

“Capitalism helps people flourish. When I see Miss Navajo Nation handing it directly to the children it only hinders their development” he said looking at kids playing in the flea market. “We are stunting our children when we make it easy for them. The struggle for candy prepares them for life”.

“They need to build their character by having them fighting over candy”.

Mr.Yazzie left to get a snow cone but when he returned he complained about the exorbitant prices. He continued his rant.

“When Miss Navajo Nation distributes the candy to all the kids without having them work for it, it softens our work force” he said nibbling his snow cone. “We must craft the perfect workers so that our economy can thrive. It starts with the children. She is setting a bad example for the kids. They will think that everything is handed to them”.

Tlo’chi’iin reached out to Miss Navajo Nation and she gladly set up an interview for us. She recently gave up her crown to another but she was willing to talk to Tlo’chi’iin.

“It’s ridiculous. Just because my actions are similar” she said with quote fingers. “Doesn’t mean that I am a communist.” “The political and philosophical underpinnings are more complicated than Mr.Yazzie likes to think. I suggest him, and other Republicans, to study the communism. They may learn a thing or two” she said with a smirk.

Does anyone else think that we're stuck in an ever-growing cycle of constant reboots, remakes, revivals & adaptations that nobody asked for or wanted or am I just running my mouth in a half-assed attempt to make a point about Hollywood?

I mean, think about it. Disney pumping out 8 million live action remakes & sequels, Netflix shitting out live action adaptations & revivals of old shows (ATLA, Good Times) & then proceeding to neuter & sanitize anything that could be "problematic" so it ends up bland as fuck (or in the case of Good Times, they somehow manage to make it racist & offensive to the people they're trying to appeal too), paramount making another ren & stimpy revival (& letting the new writers push out the OG cartoonists who worked on it because they were old white guys, not kidding.) & now we got this.

Like, I'm not even a fan of Gumby or anything - I'm really not - but Jesus christ, hearing this being announced makes me want to hit the executives who greenlit this shit with rolling pins (or alternatively frying pans). When I think claymation or just stopmotion in general, I think Gumby. Making Gumby in 2D is like an angel without wings. It's just unnatural. Hell, wasn't Gumby's whole appeal was him being in stopmotion? You take that away & what do you even have left? And of course they had to give it this ugly beanmouth style that Hollywood just won't let die for some ungodly reason. It's on par with that stupid geometric style that companies like Google LOVEEEEE using.

And I just got me thinking, ".....We really are just stuck here, huh?"

At this point, it feels like every single company in Hollywood right now is just on a never ending quest to see how long they can go remaking & rebooting the exact same shit over & over again with worse & worse quality until people inevitably stop tuning in to see it.

Conclusion?

We should section off the entirely of LA from the rest of California & just firebomb it wit extreme prejudice until it's a smoking crater.

And the worst part is that y’all don’t even care. You just see that streamers are avoiding the game so that they don’t get bullied & think “good”. And then you bitches go on to make excuses for why harassing people over the game is fine & act like heroes for doing so when really, the only thing you’ve done is driven away potential allies & given legit transphobes more ammo to paint your community as complete & utter nutcases.

I’m not even joking when I say that the only people that I feel bad for in this whole shitshow are the innocent trans people who opposed this shit & got caught in the crossfires of this goddawful Culture War shit & the people who legitimately just wanted to play the game without fear of harassment. They don’t deserve the backlash but because none of you fucking mongrels can actually behave like decent fucking humans for ONCE, they’re all gonna suffer for it. 

And if anyone comes onto this post & tries to act like all this shit is justified or that none of this actually happened & was completely made up, just know:

Don’t start bitching when you inevitably get even more backlash & harassment as a result of this crap. Hey Yazzy! I just wanted to mention and ask something, as a black woman talking to another black woman. There's this misinformation online that Elvis and British Invasion bands "stole" black music and "didn't credit" them. Here's an example of someone believing that:

There are other bad faith takes I've seen online, especially Twitter, and some Quora answers that are ignorant, I'm just sharing one. This is designed to slander the bands they mentioned.

The thing is.... most of the people who get accused of basically cultural appropriation have almost all acknowledged the original artists at some point, and they are very open when they talk about blues and jazz influences. And for every black person who makes an accusation, which people blindly believe because "of course black people can't be wrong", they're often very dubious or dumb lawsuits anyway, and many black celebrities loved these people. Elvis? He was open about his influence, and he grew up around black people and hung out with them. Then some fools decided he was a racist. In fact many parents who criticized him were not criticizing him being inappropriate, but "too black for comfort". Seriously. The Stones were popular with black people, Tina Turner loved the Stones. Paul McCartney wrote Blackbird as a metaphor for the race riots in America, the Beatles famously refused to play in segregated spots, the peace and love. Nothing was racist about the Beatles, how do you look at that and still think "Beatles are cultural appropriators and hate black people"?. The only questionable rock star from the top of my head was Eric Clapton because of his (albeit drunken but still) rant about how black people don't belong in Europe. Almost all these people played at the HEAVILY BLACK Woodstock, surrounded by black people. Very few musicians actually took advantage of black people. I'm sick of seeing anti-(insert rock star here) propaganda when they should be blaming radio stations for not playing the originals, but instead they blame the bands. Elvis and the British Invasion were not an attempt to "whitewash" or "butcher" black music, if anything they brought it into popularity and often these musicians would use their music to ADVOCATE for black people. By this logic, Kpop should be cancelled for "stealing" western American music without credit.

Sorry about this rant but I needed to get this off my chest. It's so easy to find racism accusations thrown at bands... when if anyone is the problem, the band is the LEAST of the problems, as said bands always turn out to be allies of black people and have a huge black following. Beatles? Black friendly. Who? Black friendly. Kinks? Black friendly. Stones? Black friendly. Animals? Black friendly. LZ? Black friendly. The Stairway to Heaven case was absolutely ridiculous. None of these people did anything wrong. None of these people are racist
