October's Teas include l: 🍵Three Mint from @pukkaherbsus 🍵Organic Chinese White Tea from @made_of_tea 🍵Organic Assam Black Tea from @manaorganics 🍵Fire-Roasted Yaupon from @yaupontea . . My thoughts on Teapigs Trim: This is a blend with guarana seeds, rosehips, hibiscus, peach and apple. It definitely put a pep in my step and kept me going. The taste is somewhat sour and yet very fragrant and flowery. Happy National Iced Tea Day! June is National Iced Tea Month, and although the weather hasn’t yet cooperated on the level one would wish, it’s supposed to turn around in a big way this week. ☀️ This is cold steeped Yaupon Black from @harneyteas . Since iced tea is a traditionally American custom, I thought I would feature an authentically American tea. The Yaupon holly tree is the only known tree native to the americas with caffeine. Less tannic than black tea and with a nice light sweetness, Yaupon is a great alternative to conventional iced tea. Is it sunny and warm enough where you are for a drink like this? “Ahh, I see...It’s pronounced ah-si: Asi Tea”

The Native peoples who lived in the southeastern region of North America referred to the Yaupon Holly as “Asi” which meant “The Purifier.”

 When you really get to know the plant and its effects as a tea, you might start to think the Natives were actually anticipating us English-speakers saying “Ahh…I see, Ah see” as we came to realize Yaupon’s potential.
