Things currently on the first page of the "hot right now" section of knitting patterns search page on ravelry:

Several basic raglan sweaters

Mesh/fishnet sweater covered in sequins.

A dissected rat; complete with internal organs

Cute vest with stylized flowers

Two different sweaters (one pullover, one cardigan) with the same unicorn tapestry design by the same designer. Each pattern is $13 and there isn't a discount for buying both and neither pattern description mentions the other pattern. Designers can and should charge what they want for their work but this feels like a wild choice to me TBH.

Thong/Speedo "bulge" version-- ie designed for people with a penis. This pattern is no longer available??? Why is it on the hot right now page?????

Cute Christmas fair isle sweater.

Coin purse in shape of ten week old fetus.

Ranunculus sweater. Obviously.

Bookmark in shape of squished rat; complete with blood puddle.

I don't know whats happening but the trending page pattern page has never been so chaotic. I am obsessed. Let's have more dead rat patterns and fewer tastefully boring PetitKnit patterns.

I am harboring a THIEF in my house

but she's adorable so she never gets consequences

That's not even the only yarn that was in the bathroom this morning! Just the only one that was ATTACHED to something, and therefore left a trail!

She specifically is interested in animal fibers, unsurprisingly for a carnivore. She completely ignores cotton and linen yarns, and also ignores synthetics like acrylic. The tan yarn and grey yarn are both wool, and the white is ANGORA.

At least my little helper has good taste, that angora is very soft. And, thankfully, she doesn't chew on or kick around the yarns that she steals, just stashes them in my bathroom.

Sudden strong urge to write a song that sounds like a love song but is actually describing the symptoms of POTS (and/or is talking about salt? maybe?) despite not having song-writing skills This impulse brought to you by the realization that both things are sometimes described using phrases like heart flutter* and weak in the knees and how many times I say things like "I want to but my heart won't let me" or "my heart is telling me not to go" (meaning "my heart rate is too high") *I thought about this one too many times and now the phrase makes no sense but I think it's a real phrase?

Leaning in to the ornament idea: what if I get those plastic ornament balls to encase each crochet before I hang them up on the ceiling. It would be like the movie. Also would protect them from dust better I hope.
