"dni if you're over/under X age" hey did you know people can lie? and that there are a lot of very motivated people out there who want to hop turnstiles whenever possible?

if you want any semblance of privacy with what you post you need to just not post it. it's tumblr. things get reblogged. nonrebloggable things regularly get screenshotted and passed around, often out of spite. blog passwords get cracked. etc. you are kidding yourself if you think there is any boundary of any kind you can maintain/enforce on here. grapple with that and curate what you post accordingly, instead of trying to herd cats while you air every last piece of your dirty laundry for all and sundry

So, most Daycares typically look after kids ranging from 1-to-5/6 years old, which means that Sun and Moon aren't just looking after babies. Mans looking after Baby-Babies. At least 10+ of them a day. That makes me wonder what their limit is. Do they have a waitlist for the Daycare?? Did they ever have Daycare assistants?? Or just a daytime security guard who watched from behind the desk? I want to know how the ins and outs of this place worked man!!

Our neighbor has started a garden lately, turns out they also got free roam chickens. Never more have I been so confused and delighted then I did this afternoon when I went into my back yard and there are 10 white chickens and a rooster pecking at the grass/chilling

This is BB and Casper. They're our boys. Like brothers they roughhouse and bicker and ultimately love each other. They are also very lucky to be safe and sound!

Last Friday, the shed right next to their enclosure caught fire. We were all inside at the time. A neighbor we didn't know helped contain the fire early by calling 911 and bringing over her hose when ours melted.

Then the fire department came and rushed us off the property. We only had time to secure the cats already in the house. When they finally let us back in, we found BB and Casper hiding in the enclosure behind an old mattress - scared, but safe.

We should have had cat carriers ready to evacuate all of them, but this was all totally new to us. So my first PSA is to make sure you have carriers or leashes for all of your pets. Here's a useful link to read about pet disaster preparedness.

Here's the second PSA. Despite the heat of summer, do not use an extension cord to hook up an air conditioner.

That's how our shed caught on fire. My cousin did the same thing and melted his extension cord. If you do try this, do your research first, and at least make sure the amperage of the cord matches with the amperage of the air conditioner.

We owe so much to our neighbor, the fire department, and really the whole street that came out to watch and support us while we waited for the fire department to do their thing. I cannot express how eternally grateful I am that the fire only burned a small area, and everyone, including BB and Casper, is safe and happy.

HEY. ACTUAL IMPORTANT PSA

Properly dispose of your old phones!! Please!! I did not and usually dont and have had my old phone just sitting on my desk. Deep cleaning and found it and the back was off bc the battery swelled. This happens bc its old and gas builds up. And guess what? That shit can fuckin explode and/or catch fire! Take that shit to a local electronic waste center they will dispose of it safely and it wont be a safety hazard.

TLDR TAKE YOUR OLD PHONES TO AN ELECTRONIC WASTE CENTER OR CALL YOUR LOCAL FIRESTATION THE BATTERIES CAN EXPLODE.

Was just out walking Velma when we got approached by a tiny terrier of some variety, no collar and skittish but not aggro. Sniffed up to Velma (who was very good and stayed calm too) who was 2-3x his size but kept running into the main street when I tried to grab him. Then he ran across the street and seemed to go into a house's backyard. Really hope that it's their dog or that they will at least have better luck catching him/finding the owners.

watched the eclipse from our side yard. it was fascinating how the light disappeared so quickly, followed by panicked barking dogs and people cheering (this is texas after all - sounded like a football game)
