Your heart burned so fiercely that it burnt itself out, leaving horrible scars in its wake; scars inside your chest and on the hands of those who touched you, the hearts of anyone who got close enough to connect to yours. The person you are now is no longer recognizable, burnt up by your own anger and passion and love. The injuries can never be fully erased, but they can be soothed with time and trust and forgiveness.

Sometimes Garak’s just reading in the bath and his husband busts in and starts monologing about the incredible tennis semifinal he’s just seen broadcast from Earth and this Andorrian kid is going to be the next big thing, mark his word, he hasn’t seen anyone play like this since Kavoukian, this kid is going places.

yes, but also no. usually, yes, unless yannik’s been in a relationship with the person for a good while ( think 3-5 years with long-term/lifetime relationship in mind ). at first, usually he’d send stylianos off out and out not just for their partner, but for theirself as well. stylianos is with ( and resting inside ) of yannik nearly 24/7, so privacy isn’t really something that they can get all that often. while that’s not necessarily an issue for them, the idea of stylianos being there, watching ( even if he’s not ), able to form comments or questions, is something that yannik generally doesn’t like the concept of. that starts to bother yannik less the longer they’ve been in a relationship with for a few years, as their partner would not only know about stylianos by that point ( assuming they’re not in a relationship with a non-sorcerer, anyway ), so the longer the relationship goes on, the less it’s about yannik wanting (and caring about ) that type of privacy, and more about if their partner minds.

yannik + memory. kimyab verse.

for the past 4 years ( aka, ever since yannik learned of the existence of demons ), they’ve been slowly forgetting things. the physical things go before the social does, but slowly and surely, they’re forgetting it all. complex tasks along with basic motor skills, it’s all being drained from them. it goes, and it doesn’t come back. they can be taught again, but seeing as how newer information is forgotten before older, they’ll no doubt forget it again. they forget people / faces, names, personalities, and even what their connection is to a person. eventually, they’ll forget how they feel about a person and why they feel that way, too. they forget their manners / words / phrases / nuances, but they won’t forget how to speak. luckily for them, language is vast and they learned a lot in their youth, so hopefully this can and will be fixed before they’re left with only gibberish. the rate of which their memory goes varies from slowly to falling off on a steep drop. when they do forget something, upon realizing that they’ve forgotten something, yannik’s prone to zoning out and stopping whatever it was that they were doing until pulled out of their trance like state. this is all, of course, ( no ) thanks to stylianos and his scheme to take everything from yannik before he turns them into a demon. that, however is not known, leaving people up to assume that this is some sort of mental issue. perhaps yannik is crazy / perhaps yannik is ill. originally, it was assumed that their behavior was nothing more than a quirk, but that was soon enough proved to not be the case.

yannik / stylianos + visage & relationship. kimyab verses.

although unaware of it, yannik is a descendant of stylianos, unfortunate enough to so happen to strongly resemble to the demon with few exceptions. they seem completely unaware of this fact, unable to see how they favor stylianos, but is aware of their differences. stylianos, however, was immediately aware of how yannik is his descendant, so much so that he chooses to only be a minor inconvenience to yannik instead of tormenting them as he would anyone else.

because yannik now spends most of their time working in wistera havens, stylianos has very little contact with yannik until they leave one house haven to go to another, only then latching onto yannik and only leaving when he’s under threat of being killed. yannik only seems vaguely aware of stylianos’ intense interest in them, aware of when something is amiss with their memories ( of what little remain intact ) and / or dreams, but they never seem to fully grasp that it’s stylianos’ doing.

unbeknownst to yannik, stylianos plans to take away all of yannik’s humanity before turning them into a demon.

there’s blood everywhere, spilling from mouth, lips, face, arms, from his torso. his torso’s the worst, cut deep, open from blade. there’s blood coming from back, too and that’s how stylianos died; killed from a deep stab to the back just to add insult to all the other injuries. ( too many severed heart strings, spilled blood from too many places, innards falling out of open wounds. the heart bleed was the worst of all. stylianos could have lived had be been rushed to a hospital. ) there’s dirt in his hair. yannik remembers stylianos smiling as he died in their arms. this curse does not smile. this curse is not stylianos, but a crass mimicry of him. this is insulting.

yannik + cursed technique, jjkai verse

yannik allows their eyes to close, holding a hand out while a small amount of cursed energy pools into upturned hand, quickly solidifying and turning into a sword they’ve held sometime in their life before. by the looks of it, it’s a real thing.

“ my cursed technique takes the form and function of anything i’ve seen, touched, and understand, and makes an identical copy of it. the bigger or more complex the object, the more cursed energy i need. ” they pause, moving on from sword to point at theirself. “ needless to say, since i understand myself, i can make copies of myself. multiple if i need to, but that leaves less space for other copies. ” not without risking using all of their cursed energy. currently, without using a drop of their cursed energy on anything else, they could make five perfect copies of theirself and still function normally as if nothing happened. more simply put, it’s like cutting theriself apart about serving the most useful, most helpful parts. “ if it gets destroyed, it’s lost energy i just have to wait to replenish. if not, i can take it back without any loss. ”

yannik. stylianos. + the known lie vs the secret truth. jjkai verse

the known lie. at the age of 17, yannik and stylianos, as per usual, had been sent on an assignment together to deal with a curse that had been causing problems not too far from their home city. while both leave for the assignment, only yannik returns home and not too long later, someone else is sent to deal with the aftermath of yannik finishing the assignment. upon yannik’s return, it’s learned that stylianos had died during the mission, resulting in yannik’s grade going from grade one to becoming a special grade, further proving that either yannik was holding stylianos back or that stylianos was holding yannik back ( as they were identical twins, their cursed technique was considered as a single individual, allowing and restricting both from growing unless the effort was a mutual things ). during and even before this time, there was a rumor of someone being suspected as an evil curse user, such a rumor died as the chaos begun to clear itself up. during this time, yannik remained to theirself, leaving the sorcery world for a few years before returning to it after moving to japan, where they became a teacher at kyoto jujutsu high. while they do take the occasional assignment, yannik tends to not go on assignments when paired up with someone, preferring to work alone.

the secret truth. at the age of 17, yannik and stylianos, as per usual, had been sent on an assignment together to deal with a curse that had been causing problems not too far from their home city. while both leave for the assignment, only yannik returns home after learning that the rumor of someone being suspected as an evil curse user, was about their brother, stylianos. after learning this, stylianos had tried convincing yannik to join him only for yannik to reject the offer and result in the two of them fighting to the death. just before yannik lands a killing blow on stylianos, the brothers curse one another ( yannik cursing stylianos over the betrayal they felt through learning that stylianos had been working against them and learning that stylianos would try killing them if rejected and given the chance / stylianos cursing yannik over the betrayal he felt over learning that yannik wouldn’t join him and that yannik would choose morals over being a ‘ proper ’ brother ). after killing stylianos, yannik completes the assignment alone, returning home and allowing someone else to deal with the aftermath. there it’s learned that yannik went from grade one to becoming a special grade, further proving that either yannik was holding stylianos back or that stylianos was holding yannik back. not too long after this event, the rumor of someone being suspected as an evil curse user begins to fade. now stuck with stylianos, who’s now an unregistered special grade vengeful spirit curse, yannik leaves the sorcerer world to avoid execution. it’s only years later that yannik returns to the scene after moving to japan, becoming a teacher at kyoto jujutsu high just to take less assignments, generally avoiding them in order to keep their secret.

yannik + pronouns yannik’s preference of people using they/them pronouns for them is a thing for no reason other than they view theirself and think of theirself as a multiple ( yannik. stylianos. two being sharing one body. ) when they think of theirself, it’s never as a singular, always still considering stylianos a part of them that should be counted for no reason other than they were never alone. stylianos also makes it hard for yannik to forget that they’re not alone, which makes it weird for them when they hear someone referring to them as a singular. they don’t have an aversion to people using he/him pronouns as they are a cis man.

stylianos + pronouns despite being a part of yannik ( more so a body-less god inhabiting yannik’s body ), stylianos considers and thinks of himself as a singular being, never thinking of yannik the same way that yannik thinks of him. to stylianos, he is, and always will be, his own being/person, aware that without yannik, he will still be himself ( unlike yannik, who wouldn’t be theirself for multiple reasons ). he also refuses to be thought of on the same level as yannik, often times making yannik ( and others ) to see him as a higher being than yannik. unlike yannik, stylianos will refuse to interact with people if he knows they refer to him using they/them ( if it’s for gender neutral means or plurality, it makes no difference to him ).
