a tip i learned again from starting retail:

SLAM these bitches on the floor. Esp if you’re in a loud ass store the slam on the floor will make them stfu so fucking fast. I tag clothes at a retail job and these tags will literally be the end of me the sound they make is so fucking annoying.

I fucjing hate these tags literally ANYTHING will set them off. if you get sussed just say it got caught on something and wasn’t clipped right and began screaming. theres a slight chance it cld be blamed on the stock team (LMFAO)

anothwr way to make them shut the fuck up is literallt drowning them in water. in our break room we have a cup full of them in water and they shut the fuck up, u cld bring a water bottle full of liquid (preferably water) and when it begins to scream just dunk it in there.

here’s a way to get more rėfs from a company ur banned from or think you could get banned from

just put a typo in your address

like if your address is 123 main st

put 123 mainn st

don’t change the numbers or zip code

you can also put a symbol or simply change the apt number

the mailman will still be able to find your address and this makes it practically impossible to link your past info in their system

if they banned ur ip use a vpn but fyi websites know when you are using a vpn and it’s a red flag for their fraud systems. but for these purposes you should be fine

only do this for stores that won’t file investigations bc carriers will figure out what ur doing fast and that’s ⚫️📝

i’m seeing a lot of baby l1fters on here which is great but they are also making some common mistakes which puts our community at risk! i’m not trying to be rude (i made some of these mistakes too when i started this account and people had to dm me to remind me lol) just trying to keep everyone here safe.

PLEASE don’t post with hashtags. don’t use #\lifting or whatever. please remember this is a public forum and you are posting yourself roleplaying illegal activity. tags make it easier to find your account.

hide your likes and following!! it makes it easier for people outside our community to find it - as one account can lead to many others by just looking at your likes and follow lists.

use that block button liberally. BLOCK ANYONE WHO FOLLOWS YOU AND IS NOT PART OF THE L1FTING COMMUNITY. for me - anyone i find somewhat suspicious. blocked. anyone with only one or two small posts related to l1fting. blocked. people with their follow or like lists open. blocked. as difficult and silly as it may seem that you will be doxxed or caught via tumblr, it is always a possibility. i will also block those who use their regular tumblr accounts to repost or post their l1fting content.

this one is obvious and should go without saying but just in case- censor shop names, don’t post hauls right away, and for fucks sake clarify you are ROLEPLAYING or just telling a story or whatever you want to say. people might think you’re actually carrying out illegal activity… which we all definitely are NOT.

apparently, there‘s so many stores that use these fake RFID tags? this isn’t anything new, but it‘s funny that they try to use them as a scare tactic but then place them inside of the packaging, so you wouldnt be able to see them anyway. what was the thought behind that?

there‘s some other info here which is interesting:

the pad is referred to as a mag pad (magnetic). there‘s different rfids as we all know and apparently the rectangular, small and sort of puffy tags are deactivated by demagnetisation, and can be reactivated by magnetisation.

and the flat ones that are hidden as/below barcodes can only be deactivated once and never magnitised again.

a few tips you might not have thought of:

▪️ if possible, try standing near the dressing rooms and pretending to look at stuff. take note of what the SA says or does when they get someone a room. do they count on the way in/out, take the items from you, check rooms in between customers, etc? ▪️ if you’re trying to get a purse, leave your own purse in your car or at home. browse around the purse section and pick one out. when no one is looking, slip the purse onto your own arm and pretend it’s yours. after I do this I usually head to a clothing section and pick a few random things out and go in the dressing room to detag the purse. just make sure there isn’t any tissue paper or tags sticking out. ▪️ get 2 of the same item, perhaps in different sizes so it looks like you’re comparing. most times no one will notice you went in with 2 and came out with 1 if they’re the same color/style. ▪️ tip for hangers: hang leftover hangers inside unwanted clothing. if this isn’t possible, try hanging them on a messy clearance rack that’s already stuffed with hangers.

Anything can be a tool!

I have never used actual lifting tools before! I dont own any but this doesnt stop me so if you are a baby lifter, unable to afford tools, someone who doesnt want to risk being caught with actual tools etc.. heres some of my favourites.

Two Forks Two metal forks can be used to remove tags from clothing. Not my favourite method, its lengthy and honestly takes a bit of strength to do. Useful for clothing tags with a pin.

Elastic Bands, hairties, shoelaces Who doesnt have any of these on them? Completely normal. These can be used to remove tags on clothing with a pin.

Nail Clippers Keep a little pair in your makeup bag! Can be used to cut throw certain lanyard tags (ones you know wont play sounds) and can also be used a seam ripper for sewn in rfids.

Jewlery Wire Cutters Smaller than normal wire cutters but also looks a bit odd. Might want to toss in some loose beads and what not to really sell the act. Can be used to open clothing tags with a pin, lanyard tags, and as a seam ripper for sewn in rfid tags.

my guide as someone whos been lifting for 6+ years and never been caught 😇🤞

apperance: i usually wear hoodies and or leggings under sweats or just leggings and a hoodie. i try to not look too much of a bum so i do minimal “clean girl” makeup and grab one of my tote bags

methods:

up the sleeve: this one is my go too, first i usually shove it up the sleeve and then either put it in my waistband or just keep it tucked in my sleeve,i stole a whole mini christmas tree one time just by shoving it up my oversized jacket sleeve obviously be careful tho

in the waistband: if wearing leggings under sweats you can store things in your leggings

fluffy boots: those big y2k fluffy boots are perfect for shoving things in.

bras: if your medium- big chested yk the bra is a way to

hats:put things in your beanie and put it back on

cups: use a empty stanley/hydro flak / any tumblr and put things in

socks: long socks under jeans are good for small things like lipgloss chapstick etc

**obviously be sure the store you are borrowing from isnt a small business and has multiple areas to easy conceal items**

i make sure not to hit the same small stores too often as in dollar general/dollar tree etc, id only recommend once or twice a week if that
