oh gosh the yandere expressions.... do ALL the charas have yandere expressions or are there just specified people >_< i wanna see them used in the story! and the game files having a yandere expression feels like they just might start leaning heavily to the joseimuke aspect of the game even more

Nope, only Romeo and Subaru have expressions labeled "yandere"! But some characters have yandere adjacent expressions like varying degrees of madness, and several characters have expressions without their eye highlights which really emphasizes some extremity. . . .

@2flowerz [jokingly] asked me to post them all but I did kind of want to go through and post them so let's see who's got some crazier expressions--

Jin - kire (meaning is something like "snapped" or "lost temper" or it might be from 'kirai' meaning 'hate')

how many times do you think he stabbed the guy he's looking at like this? do you think he's still stabbing him to this day?

Tohma - haraguro(meaning "malicious" or "scheming")

:} he's kinda smiling the same way as yandere romeo lol

Kaito - darkhorse (and darkhorse + shadow)

literally my favorite one simply because Kaito is the last person I'd expect to snap. THIS MUST BE LIKE MEGA END STORY. I WANNA SEE KAITO READY TO KILL A MAN. I WANNA SEE HIM SO ANGRY THAT SOMEONE'S THREATENING THE PC HIS BOW ACTUALLY WORKS AND HE PIERCES SOMEONE SQUARE IN THE EYE WITH AN ARROW WITH NO REMORSE. I WANNA SEE HIM DO SOMETHING THAT MAKES LUCA WORRIED.

Luca doesn't have any that are really crazy tbh. so have the one labeled 'yancha'(meaning "naughty" "mischievous" "rascal")

part of me wonders if this is actually going to be like. his twin's expression? I can't imagine Luca pulling some sort of malicious prank. . . .

Alan - kire_02 (see: jin for meaning; 02 because 00 doesn't have the teeth showing.)

Leo - kyoki (meaning: "madness" "insanity" "dangerous weapon")

again, missing highlights. Much less a yandere expression and more of a 'oh my god they're not even gonna be able to identify your body lmao i almost feel bad' expression. . .which can be yandere tbh. tbh anything can be yandere if it's extreme enough.

Sho literally does not have an expression to fit this, in name or otherwise.

Haru also doesn't really have a good one for this, so have the opposite! This expression is more like him at the mercy of a yandere i.e. towa lmao - toraware (meaning: "captive"); you can also have Peekaboo - ookuchi (meaning: "mouth open wide")

Peekaboo's startled me when i first saw it haha

Towa - ikari (meaning: "fury")

we've seen this one in game at least. if you're an anomaly and you see him making this face. . .reconsider what you're doing. maybe get on the floor and grovel and hope for your life. maybe if you're not an anomaly too.

Ren - hinekure (meaning: become twisted; grow bitter)

he looks so smug. . .like he thinks it's funny we've been belittling him all this time, figuring he's useless. . . .

Taiga - choshi (meaning: probably from "choushikoku" meaning "to be caught up in the moment" "to be carried away" "to get cocky")

he's used this one in the game, but i still love it. i love that he's crazy haha

Romeo - yandere

I've shown this one before. It's still amazing. He's still giddy and disgustingly in love. . . . This is the face he makes behind the above Taiga's back once he's finished brutalizing someone who was bothering him. and maybe the face he makes in his head when he sees Kaito.

Ritsu also does not have any extreme expressions lmao

Subaru - yandere

it doesn't feel very yandere until you consider that Subaru would be stressed out by his own extreme adoration. he'd feel bad about his own yandere feelings, this is an accurate expression if you think about it!

Haku - warui (meaning: bad; evil)

this is the "you really put too much faith in me. it was sweet. but stupid." face we'll probably be getting at the end when he's revealed to be the spy and all that. in the meantime, i'd like him to step on someone's neck with this face. please and thank you.

Zenji also doesn't have a fittingly crazy expression.

Edward - sadist

he uses this one in the story i believe, but. . .still. he says he has no interest in hurting humans because their lives are already so short but like. . .what if. . . .

Rui doesn't have a fitting expression

Lyca doesn't have one either. . .but he does have "shitadashi" meaning "tongue out" so I'll show you that because it's a fun one.

this one is to be expected. It's Yuri after all. Be a good little test subject. It's not like you're going to die or anything. You may just suffer forever!

Jiro has very muted expressions and none of them are really fitting for madness or yandere.

CHAPTER ONE: Nali.

HOPE YOU ENJOY!!

It all Began on a frigid Korean winter day when a beautiful teenage girl, soon-to-be actress and Korean Pop idol, Nali Lee was abandoned by her parents at the age of seventeen. The people she had thought would love her forever had left her to go live in Japan’s Countryside, leaving her in the freezing temperatures since they felt that the Company she applied to would take care of her for them. Although she didn’t understand why, Nali always thought her relationship with her parents was perfect and that of a movie, so why would they leave her to fend for herself? Something within her that day seemed to snap, she was no longer herself, the things that interested her before they left no longer mattered and her world seemed to spiral out of control. Nali held her head high however and continued with her Training to become an Idol at the agency CUBE.

Nali was picked because of her Stunning gray eyes, slim face and nose, curvy hourglass figure, and shining bright smile. Not to mention she was a very talented Actress and Dancer. Once her Debut date started to creep up on her she met a man named Naomi Ikari, she fell deeply in love with him once they locked eyes. Naomi gave him a sweet smile once their eyes met, using her looks she obtained his Snapchat handle and they became close friends. Every single day after the two met they spent the whole day at work together, during their long training sessions and meetings, she began to dress in a more expensive style, wearing very luxurious perfumes, a more expensive wardrobe, and always had makeup on.

On a gray and rainy humid Korean spring day she came into work and hung her trenchcoat on the hooks by the front door, looking to find Naomi. Her eyes must have been betraying her, Naomi and another girl laughing, and lightly slapping his arm. Jealousy bubbled and raged inside her and she saw red, she walked up and took him to practice for the day not saying a word to Naomi or anyone else. As she practiced her solo her mind was racing about how that other girl was going to try to take Naomi from her. Nali found herself stumbling over her choreography, something she never did, it made her more furious than she already was. In the back of her mind, intrusive thoughts began to tune out the music she was practicing and they soon turned violent once the thoughts mentioned how without Naomi she would have no one who loved her and that He would leave like her parents.

In a Huff, she packed her bag, grabbed her coat, and left for her apartment to continue to think about what she could do. Inside her something Evil was starting to blossom and it wasn’t a beautiful flower it was something poisonous yet charming. Nali thought about how she could kill to make sure he was only in love with her, it wouldn’t be easy of course but she felt it needed to be done. In a split second, she decided her evening would be spent getting close to that girl and learning her routine so it would make her monstrous act easier. Her beautifully manicured hands grabbed her phone and sent that girl a text to ask if she wanted to meet at a bar to talk about their upcoming premiere.

Of course, the naive girl said yes to Nali’s manipulative charms, and her fate was sealed at that moment. Once she arrived at the bar she sat down and waited for her “friend” to arrive. She tapped and clicked her long acrylic nails against the glass table she was sitting at, legs crossed and an angry glare in her eyes. A glare similar to that of a fox stalking its prey. Nali put on a mask of happiness however once that unknown girl arrived, playing like the dream friend a girl would want, leading her prey into the fox's trap. Once they had been there for a bit the girl fell to the floor and gripped her chest for an unknown reason!

Nali leaped into action and pretended to give her CPR to seem like she was giving aid to the poor girl. Unfortunately, the girl now known as Eun-Woo, passed on site before the paramedics arrived on the scene, they arrested a bartender with a past record of attempted murder for the crimes that happened that night. This made Nali’s confidence soar like an eagle, she also had the pride of a lion. No one could stop the monster from being made.

The next day was even more murky and gray, the wealthy was rainy and chilly. Nali used her skills once again when Naomi checked on her, immediately she burst into crocodile tears. Her arms flung around him as she sobbed into his chest, the despair she was putting on as a mask was truly believable to Naomi, so he did his best to comfort her. Her heart pounded in her chest, ringing in her ears from his touch, she wanted to crawl into his skin to be impossibly close to him forevermore. Nali knew that she had to kill off the rest of the people in her way to get to his heart, she knew who was next. In her troubled mind, she made a sick list of who had to be taken away, however, she had a plan.

The plan is that she would ask them politely to back off before threatening and then doing what she did to Eun-Woo as a last resort. So she did for months after the first incident, though she began to get sloppy as she continued her vile and monstrous crimes. One evening she was committing another murder, and then there was a knock on her apartment door. Nali jumped out of her skin and hid the body in the bathtub and closed the shower curtain changing clothes before she rushed to the door to open it..It was him…Naomi was right there. He had heard everything that was happening and saw her bloody towel on the floor, his usually tan glowing skin was pale and dull, and he looked scared.

Nali froze in the moment, like a deer in the headlights. This was it she felt, the final standoff, the end of her life, Naomi had found out her dirty secret. The cops came quickly, however, she used her acting skills again of course, and pretended that someone had broke in and attacked both of them and she was rendering aid to the victim in the apartment with the name of Sakura, the injuries that Nali had were consistent with a struggle and the evidence from the state of her home were consistent with a break in, Or so it seemed.

Once Nali was taken to court, there wasn’t any real hard evidence against her, just circumstantial. The trial wasn’t long either, the jury only deliberated for an hour and came back with a verdict of not guilty. What? How could that be? Nali was Obviously guilty, right? Of course not, she was far too pretty and had too clean of a record to do such a heinous crime, everyone believed it too, even Naomi.

Following the Trial Naomi and Nali went back to work, and while using these acting and manipulation skills Nali somehow convinced Naomi to date her. Even after the events that had happened the year prior. They seemed happy though, a perfect couple, soulmates if you will. Their relationship grew stronger the longer she toyed with his mind, making him fall deeper into her large venomous spider web. Years passed, and They debuted, They were a power couple while being top idols in Korea. Nali’s Acting career took off as well..though something was missing she thought, more control.

What was she ever to do now? Naomi could leave her at any moment without any baggage or guilt. The monster inside her snapped again and they hurried and settled down, now she had full control over him and her new family. The monster inside her however was still hungry, craving the feeling she had gotten before. Nali went back to committing the same vile, corrupt, villainous crime as she did before. Although far sneakier, like a sly snake. The Police could never catch this unknown serial killer no matter how hard they looked and investigated. All of the cases opened would go cold because there was no constant in the crimes so they couldn’t be linked together in any way. Eventually, they seemed to give up, leaving our malevolent maiden with a new sense of putrid pride, fueling her fire to find a new game, like a wolf in the dark forest stalking a small mouse. What will come of her daughter?...

There you have it: A story about The Monster in Seoul, Named Nali.

“HOLY MOTHER OF FU—,”

Is what you screamed in horror, as your car violently collided with a burst of cosmic energy, shattering your windshield and surely destroying your bumper as the blowback blasted your car back and your airbags inflated. A man was launched unrealistically far off onto the country road ahead, embers flying off him. He landed with a loud thud, crumbling the tough asphalt into chunks. You looked on, terrified.

You had been casually driving your car along the peaceful and well-worn roads to your old town far off in the countryside when you had noticed what appeared to be a shooting star drifting from the skies above. Unfortunately, you realised that the ‘star’ was actually a man, and was in fact hurtling right towards you a little too late, as the ball of energy had slammed right on the road in front of your car.

Pulling yourself out of your inflated airbag, you quietly thanked yourself for getting the car safety-tested last week with flying colours, then quickly assessed yourself. You didn’t seem to have any major injuries, but you would probably be nursing a sore neck for a few days from the whiplash, plus a few small bruises, much to your chagrin. You shrugged it off, as you realised there were more pressing matters at hand.

You quickly checked that your car was fine, besides the busted bumper and windshield, and lightly jogged over to the crater created by the man you saw for a split-second before you car got blasted, looking at the sight before your eyes as a breath hitched in your throat.

In the crater was indeed a man, embers slowly dying and drifting off of his body. He was clad in deep blue armour unlike anything you had seen here on this planet, charred and burnt from what you assumed was him falling out of the literal sky. He himself, however, looked to be in almost perfect condition, save for his absolutely grimy skin from the soot and ash. You tentatively leaned forward and heard his shallow breaths, heaving and desperate despite being unconscious.

“At the very least, he isn’t dead..,” you quietly mumbled to yourself as you stood back up, unsure of what to do.

A man falling from the heavens and wrecking your car was not what you expected when you said you’d return to your hometown to inherit your late parent’s house, but you didn’t feel right, leaving the man behind. You pulled out your phone from your pocket, ready to call the emergency numbers, only to realise it was broken, the flashing screen mocking you with its erratic colours.

After a few bouts of “FUCK THIS SHIT FUCK YOU PHONE FUC—,” you quickly decided to load the unconscious man into your car (frankly, with a lot of struggling), and after checking once again that the engines were fine (you didn’t feel like waiting for another car to pass by when you car seemed to be working decently), you speeded off to your hometown, where you planned to call the emergency services there and get the unconscious man some serious help.

What a wonderful way to start my trip home, you thought sarcastically to yourself as you passed the crater and drove towards your hometown.

The sun crackles against his skin.

Ikaris flies towards the light, his entire being crumbling on the inside.

Sprite always had the last laugh with their stories, he thought bitterly. What a self-fulfilling prophecy, him flying into the sun.

He thinks of what could have been.

Sersi. (“I’m sorry,” he want to cry out, “I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorr—“)

Ajak’s death. (“He killed her.” “I had to.” “She loved you!”)

The Emergence. Tiamut. His heart breaks and his mind cracks and he thinks of broken ice and Deviants and blood and Ajak’s corpse and he is set on flying towards the sun and ending it all. He didn’t deserve to live. Not after he failed. He can’t face anyone after what he did.

His mind feels shattered, arranged in a broken pile of mirrored glass, full of shame and guilt aimed at him and himself only, and so he focuses on ending his own existence. His thoughts are increasingly incoherent as he only thinks of what he could have done, the what-ifs, the possibilities, alternates that could never happen now. All he has to do is fly into the sun—

He feels his arms stop listening to him.

No.

Then his legs follow.

No no no no no no please let me die please please—

His entire body feels like it’s on fire, as if he was being stabbed by a thousand blades. He feels his limbs being pulled back like Phastos’s restraints had done, like invisible chains had bound him to Earth.

PLEASE PLEASE LET ME DIE PLEASE—

He feels nothing and everything. He feels like an empty husk of himself as he stops ascending and his entire body begins to fall, being pulled back into Earth.

His last conscious thought, with empty tears streaking down his face, as he slowly started igniting into flames in the re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere is of fate and how it was cruel enough to not let him die by his own accord.

The sign of your hometown seemed to mock you as you drove on increasingly paved roads, dusty asphalt giving way to clean concrete and actual houses, though they were rather empty as not many lived in your town. You were finally near home, but there were more urgent things to focus on right now.

Your focus on the road wavered, looking away from the cracked windshield to see the rearview mirror, looking at the man you had unceremoniously dumped at the backseat of your car, although you tried to at least keep him secure and kept from further harm.

The man was still sooty and his chest was heaving up and down with deep breaths, although they were much more calm compared to the shallow gasps he was emitting earlier. He didn’t seem to be too urgently in need of care, so you decided to find a phone-booth nearby to call due to your busted phone allowing you no favours.

You stopped your car at a empty street with a café (closed, you grumbled to yourself), and a phone-booth conveniently next to a dark and shady alleyway, which was par for the course for the amount of people living in town. You jingled the coins in your hand as you walked to the booth to make a call to the town’s local emergency services. Entering the booth, you quickly dialled the number and waited with bated breath, mild panic slowly rising up and up until—

“Hello, this is the emergency hotline, what’s your emergency?”

You breathed a sigh of relief.

“Yes, hello, thi–this is kind of an emergency here, um, I’ve got an unconscious man in my car when he crashed in front of me, I didn’t hit him, he just, he um—, he straight up fell from the sky!”

“Are you sure that’s what happened? This sounds rather unusual.”

You rolled your eyes, even with your nerves. The world had gone through many things, including superheroes actually existing and half the world being snapped away and blipping back, plus the huge earthquakes recently. This probably wasn’t even in the top five craziest things to happen to planet Earth.

“Yeah…I’m sure.”

“Alright, tell me your name, location and the status of you and the…man?”

“Yes, of course…I’m ( ), I’m near the local café and I’m fine, while the ma—“

You suddenly feel yourself being violently yanked back from the phone-booth, large, rough hands grabbing onto your shirt as you are quickly dragged into the dark alley-way, the same hands grabbing onto your throat as you are slammed into the gritty brick wall of the alley. You’re dazed as your vision blurs and you try desperately to focus, even with the extreme pain you’re experiencing with your body violently slamming onto tough brick, the emergency hotline completely forgotten in favour of trying to figure out what the fuck just happened.

You strain your eyes as you’re being choked out, and your vision sharpens a tad, giving focus to see the sooty man clad in blue, who was last unconscious. He’s right in your face as he’s throttling you out, giving the most enraged yet sorrowful glare you’ve seen in your life, choking out one haunted word that sticks with you.

“Why!?”

Druig:

•druig has known that you were very clumsy because you actually told him first hand that you were and you were honestly very embarrassed by that because you would always somehow end up with cuts and/or bruises.

•and when he saw it firsthand, he was very concerned and he thought you were way more hurt than you said you were. especially because he saw how quick your bruises became and your scratches you had on your hands from the fall.

•he would always then say that you shouldn’t be going outside alone and that you should even be careful when you walked inside when there was carpeting and pillows everywhere in the home.

•but he would always fix up your cuts and check on your bruises whenever you would fall because you couldn’t heal them on your own after all since you were mortal and didn’t have any powers to help the healing process.

•if you both were to go outside, whether it would be for a walk or to go somewhere, druig would pretty much have you stuck to his side like glue and wouldn’t let you out of eye sight at all, despite your insistence that you would be just fine.

•it’s not that he didn’t trust you or didn’t believe that you were capable of protecting yourself. it’s just that you’re a mortal being and he’s afraid that any other fall can be brutal for you and he doesn’t want anything worse to happen to you.

Ikaris:

•ikaris had to find out on his own how clumsy you were and when he found out, he acted like another fall like that would kill you or severely injure you because of your mortality and how easily you got hurt.

•you tried to tell him that you were always very clumsy and that he had nothing to worry about, but he just would not listen to you because you were mortal and he was immortal and ikaris just isn’t going to take any chances.

•if you so desperately needed to go out somewhere, either to the store or mall for something, he would say he would just go and you just sit down or lie down where it’s safe, but you persisted and went with him right by your side.

•ikaris would almost treat you like a child whenever you both would be out, him having you only in his eyesight and him always making sure nothing was on the floor that you could possibly trip on.

•other than that though, you would always be inside your home, sitting down or lying down, with ikaris making sure that you were okay and looking at your bruises and/or cuts if you had fallen recently.

•every time he would see you fall, he would quickly rush to your aid and make sure nothing was broken, even if you would be laughing if it was a silly fall. ikaris never found your clumsiness funny though. not at all.

Kind of odd to say this about an Eternal- as they are immortals and don’t really do anything fast, but which if any would fall as yandere at first sight?

I think Makkari would, since I think super speed has her processing things differently and I feel like her experience of the human world is often in snapshots as she races from place to place; she has a lot of human treasures and modern human clothes, but she lives on the ship, in the movie, which suggests to me that she only visits the human world. If someone makes her want to linger for a bit, that's because the yandere feelings have already started to set in to some degree.

I think Ikaris, too, just because he seems so absolute about everything: he cares about the mission completely; he cares about Earth not at all. I feel like if he were to fall for a human, that human would quickly become his entire world.

Druig would develop yandere feelings as suddenly as those two but not as quickly, just because I think he has the potential to be yandere for literally anyone. Anyone he meets, he is tempted to "guide" and "correct" and "protect". Because he feels this for everyone, there has to be something to cause him to actually act on these feelings for someone in particular. But once he's in it, he's in it.

I think Thena would be on the fast side, but not the fastest; there would be the slightest tsundere phase before she fully goes yandere.

Gilgamesh, Kingo, and Phastos strike me as the grow-to-love kind of yanderes. They start off fond and get more and more intense. Gilgamesh remains kind all the while, Kingo seems more attention-seeking than anything most of the time, and for Phastos it would be a toss-up between whether his feelings of love spur him on or his feelings of guilt hold him back. (Also, his husband has to be cool with it for this to work.)

Sersi I think would be on the slow burn side. It takes her about the same time to develop feelings as the previous three, but it takes her longer to show them. I think she'd be a comfortable and undemanding type, and she wouldn't really demonstrate her feelings to be particularly strong unless prompted to by reciprocation from her darling or external threats to their happiness. Like, you could feasibly remain Sersi's acquaintance for a while, and so long as she gets to experience you, even peripherally from the perspective of an observer, she wouldn't be quick to ask for more (be it friendship or romantic partnership). If you make the first move and start a relationship of any kind with her, you have given her permission to be extra. If someone else starts a relationship with you...Well, first she will watch. If it's just an awkward date and you never meet up again, then she'll laugh about it and count it as another funny experience she's gotten to watch you have. If things get serious (and that doesn't just mean romantic; if someone starts to become your best friend, that's just as serious), then she will have to pull strings to get them out of your life. If they hurt your feelings, even by accident, she will turn them to water.

Sprite (platonic because I do not want to deal with that can of worms) would have a long tsundere phase. She'd basically be the same as Yandere Twelfth Doctor; you don't even know she cares about you at all until she has already killed for you.

Ritsu fortunately has like. Some of the least expressions of all of the characters lmao. So getting his expressions is a little faster than with others. Because he really doesn't have very many expressions.

close (to be added to other expressions or when blinking)

About the last ShinEva movie and KawoShin

My friend wrote this and I’m posting it here as a message to you:

I see people crying and bitching already and just want to tell you this if you  read the leak spoil/ers already about Kaworu’s motivation and what’s going on in this movie. This is to explain  how KawoShin is still canon and if you thought otherwise you are wrong

First of all, Kaworu is not obsessed with Shinji’s happiness in a yandere way. What happens is simply that Kaworu was trying to find his happiness through finding Shinji’s happiness. He wasn’t selfish and no one ever says this word in the script, on the contrary, he was too selfless because he kept dying over and over for Shinji and that left Shinji catatonic and wanting to die too as happens in the first hour of the new movie. Shinji keeps getting flashbacks to Kaworu’s death and is reminded of this everytime he sees Asuka wearing the DSS choker. He vomits everytime and refuses to eat or drink. He’s letting himself die here, and doing it in a slow painful way because he thinks he should have died instead of Kaworu.

Rebuild Shinji and Kaworu, in this universe, turn out to be NGE Shinji and Kaworu, they already said they loved eachother in the anime, so their love is still here in Rebuild. Kaworu remembers every time they met and Shinji gets his past memories.

Kaworu tried over and over, because he loved Shinji and made Shinji the focus of his purpose in life and happiness, to meet him over and over everytime a loop happened.

Shinji appreciates this obviously because he loves Kaworu too as he said in NGE, but this is not his happiness and Kaworu misunderstood, because Kaworu dying and suffering is something Shinji doesn’t want.

Shinji compares him to Gendo, as in that he made him and only him the focus of his life just like Gendo made Yui and only Yui the focus of his life. There are other parallels here to Kaworu. A connection to Gendo playing the piano and being lonely until he fell in love with Yui. This comparison is also one to Shinji and Kaworu’s love being real.

It’s said that Kaworu chose Shinji because he never changed no matter what, but at the same time, Qworu was able to form connections with others, in this case, with Kaji since they both were working to stop Seele/Nerv and worked for  Wille together, and having experienced that, at the same time, he’s glad that Shinji changed. Kaworu secretly wanted change too. He wants to be free too because he too is aware that no matter what he can’t escape his fate, but he’s powerless, there’s nothing he can do.

Shinji realizes that nor Kaworu nor anyone here is is control of the Eva world, and that the loops just happen and that as long as Kaworu is an angel/Adam he’ll be forced to repeat over and over and suffer over and over.

This goes for Rei too. The Eva world can’t be changed, it’s doomed to end in tragedy every time. As long as this Eva world exists, Kaworu and Shinji can’t be happy.

He talks with both Rei and Asuka separately and has closure with them and their relationship too.

In their instrumentality sequence, Shinji and Kaworu met in the same beach of ep 24 and say goodbye while Shinji (as a kid) holds Kaworu’s hands and Kaworu cries tears of happiness.

In the end, while Shinji and Kaworu loved eachother, sadly, they would never be able to be happy in a world with Evas, because as I said, that world will always end in tragedy. This doesn’t invalidate their love and it doesn’t invalidate the nice cute and canon moments they shared in NGE and 3.0

As true star-crossed lovers, the universe is the real problem in this relationship. It’s outside forces what stops them from being together.

Since the universe is what is making Kaworu (and everyone else but we’ll focus on Kaworu) suffer, Shinji creates a new world where Evas don't exist so he can be free.

In this new world Shinji wears the DSS choker, that before gave him ptsd, to pay for his sins and the sins of his father. He waits years, more than 14, waiting just like Kaworu waited for him, to see with his own eyes if Kaworu made it to the new world and if he’s happy (Kaworu died for good in 3.0, Shinji talks to his soul in instrumentality and all that so he’s waiting to confirm that he was reborn as human). Shinji, now being like 30 to 40 years old, sees a young adult Kaworu (talking to Rei but the focus in on Kaworu smiling) and finally smiles after so long. Mari appears and takes the DSS choker from him. Now that Shinji knows that Kaworu (Rei too) is happy and free from the loops and his horrible fate, he allows himself to move on. He and Mari turn around and leave (the scene implies this new world is our real world where Evas don’t exist)

I still have problems with this movie, but don’t panic and say that KawoShin is destroyed or non existent. They just couldn’t be together because of stuff that wasn’t in their control.

Here you can choose to do one of two things:

You can believe that now in this new world without Evangelion, without loops and all that, Shinji and Kaworu, maybe not now because Shinji’s older and stays with Mari, but in the future once they are reborn once more after this, that they’ll find each other again and now, with no universe or pre destined fate  ruining everything, they’ll be happy together, be it as friends or lovers.

Or

You can accept this story is over and move on from Evangelion. Appreciate it for what it is and appreciate the conclusion. Or you may not like the conclusion or aspects of it or the movie, that’s ok too.

But KawoShin is and was still canon.
