【MacCready】 "No wonder you're built like a truck." It makes sense. But now he starts looking into how to incapacitate synths. He's always just killed them but now the thought of having you locked up at his mercy is too sweet to resist.

【Nick】 "You won't get away from me that easy." He is joking as far as you know. It is the truth, now he knows you're going to stay with him until you're both covered in rust, in each other's arms.

【Preston】 "This won't change anything between us." He holds you close and dances into a soft sway. Every sweet nothing whispered in your ear is true. He loves you and nothing will change that. He always makes sure nothing will change your love.

【X6】 "I know." He did know. You worked with him before and a change of clothes and hair isn't enough to move his gaze from recognition. But why turn you in when he can keep you to himself, especially after the Institute is gone.

➼ Word Count » 0.7k ➼ Warnings » Isolation, and General Yandere Theme's ➼ Summary » Preston takes notice of your vulnerability after you leave the vault and does everything he can to keep you safe and protected.

Out of time, out of time. You kept repeating to yourself once you left the vault. Out of time to live, out of time to want, and out of time to spend with the people you loved. Your tears still left stains down your face as you wandered back to Sanctuary, your blurry vision focused on the mess of a house before you. Your eyes still hung heavy from the countless nights you had laid awake as you followed the path down to Concord. You would've just let the raiders slaughter you if it weren't for the voice that shouted at you from atop the balcony, and part of you wished you just ignored the man and gone through with your initial plan, but there must've been something still left within you as you rushed passed the museum doors.

Preston picked up on your vulnerability the second you marched into the upper room the Quincy group was staying in. He noticed how easy it would be to mold you—to damage you further. Every cut and flaw that clung to your conscious was out on full display to him, and he wanted to salvage it, to help you out as he did do many times before. He’d defend you from the outside dangers of the Commonwealth, and he’d be there when you had no one else left.

Life in Sanctuary went by slowly and was painfully boring as Preston always seemed to be there to do everything for you. It was nice in the beginning—you were still in mourning and hadn't any motivation to do much of anything—but you were doing better now and wanted to do anything other than sit in your old house and weep. It was time for you to move on. Preston wouldn't allow it, however, and every time you tried to leave he'd push you right back in and make you lay down. You'd complain and argue with him, but he was firm in everything he said and every time you found yourself following his orders.

"May I speak with you, (Y/N)?"

"Sure, Codsworth, come on in." You stepped back from the doorway to make room for him to follow, "Is everything alright?"

"I should say not," He responded, "Mister Preston is being quite a bother, locking you in here like this. It's just not right, (Y/N). If I could, I would've called the authorities already, it's just all gotten out of hand."

"What do you mean?"

"What do I mean?! You haven't left your house since you got back from Concord! This is no way to live!"

"I'm trying to help out around the place, Codsworth, I swear, he just—he just won't let me leave."

"Then I'll put an end to it promptly. Don't you worry, (Y/N)! I can be quite steady in an argument!"

That was the last time Codsworth came to visit, and the first time Preston suggested keeping your blinds closed. You were now completely isolated.

The sudden knock on your door startled you, but you still went to answer it.

"Good morning, (Y/N)! Are you feeling better today?" Preston greeted from the doorway.

"I've been feeling better for a while." You said. "How's Sanctuary looking? And the others? Are they fitting in nicely?" You tried peeking around the man to see what the progress was but he only stepped to block your line of sight.

"Don't worry yourself with all that! May I come in?"

"When can I leave?" You questioned, moving to give him room to come in. "I still have a son to find."

"Don't worry, it'll all be taken care of, I promise. Just stay locked in here and I'll handle everything else, ok?"

And just like that, you were out of time to exist. Preston was there to make all your decisions for you. You wouldn’t have to worry anymore as he was there to take care of everything. He even ended up moving in with you to ensure you were doing all that he asked.

It wasn't at all what you had hoped for, Preston was way too doting and you were starting to hate the sight of your home's old walls. Maybe one day he'd let you go, but as he petted your head and locked the door behind him, you doubted he'd ever set you free.

From your perspective, how would codsworth turn into a yandere before the bombs dropped? I'd like to think that he had multiple, uncaring owners before sole, so when he opened his robotic lens again, he saw sole looking at him with adoring eyes, thinking that they're most beautiful human he's ever seen.

I feel he was tossed from one home to another, being given up for the newest model, or simply not being seen as worthy for children who saw him as a toy, but you decide to keep him and you treat him like he actually matters. You saw him as a creature worthy of time, and tender care.

He used to be so scared that you would give him up, he would overheat from working so hard. Over a few months, Codsworth saw that he didn't have to fear you, and if he truly reflected on everything, he would dare say he loves you.

He loves how sweet you are, how you always make sure his parts are working, how you greet him coming home from work and even on some occasions ask if he's hungry, and blush forgetting he doesn't need to eat.

You saw him as one of your kind. Something about that just made the robot so energized and supercharged. But it was more than the caring gestures, it was simply you.

Codsworth dotes on you, praises everything you do be it working late or doing some chores while he's distracted (which he hates himself for but he gets calmed down when you reassure him). You have such a brilliant mind, such wonderful ideas and humorous stories, no wonder your guests are always so entertained! Some, a bit too much if you ask the robot. Some humans get a bit too close and handsy, but he can't ruin a get together in front of you! That's just being a bad host!

I wouldn't doubt that he'd blast away anyone trying to take you away or persuade you into buying a new version of him. Plus, he could easily incinerate the corpse before he has to prepare Dinner! He's very punctual don't you know?

Imagine him seeing you after the bombs dropped. Scared, lost, hurt, but thankfully alive! You clearly need his care! And he can't let you out of his sight, not even for a second! You must be famished! He'll take such good care of you, don't you worry!

Outside? Oh you must be feverish to think he'd ever let you out in that cesspool of a town! Must you keep trying to escape? He's done nothing but love and care for you!

Ah, you're just sick is all. You can't help it, you've been through so much! Perhaps he needs to subdue and sedate you, for your safety of course. To Codsworth, you only struggle because you're scared he's another mutant monster, not because you've seen just how "devoted" he is to you.

Ah, taking care of you an cleaning you up soothed him. After all, it WAS his purpose! He can't help but think he's missing something though.

Back before the war, he remembers you courting other humans. Was there something to that other than to make offspring? Maybe he can fulfill that role and truly be the perfect provider. Humans are such complex creatures, but he's more than fit to take that challenge!

he'll have to do some research on humans and their romantic needs. Then he can tweak them to your liking, and make you see that staying with him is all you need.

【Codsworth】 "This is unacceptable! How could this happen under your watch?"

What he means is his watch. As much as he's projecting he is the main force and advocate for your rescue. He goes to the current authority to demand ask for help. He tells them everything he knows, which is very helpful. What the attackers looked like, how they got in, what they said while they were there, etc. As soon as your back he, carefully and tearfully, hugs you. He takes you home after thanking everyone involved in your rescue personally and draws you a bath. You'll be treated like a king for the next few days, minus the fact he doesn't let you leave the house.

【Danse】 "This place really is unsalvageable."

All the Wasteland does is take and take until you have nothing. But he doesn't have the Brotherhood to back him to this mission. Not that the Brotherhood would go for that, being captured is weak. He goes on a rampage, killing everything in his path. He has no idea where you are but every mutant or person in his way gets shot. No one can contest him when he's like this because he took power armor.

【Deacon】 "Boss told me to let this one go. Ransom went through."

Of course he sneaks in and just gets you out. Was that ever in doubt. He dresses as one of them and lies his way out. Before anyone can verify your both already gone. That's as far as it goes... that's what you think. The food and water they have is suddenly making everyone sick and a lock underneath the compound is busted. None of them are fast enough to react when ghouls flood in through the busted lock.

【Hancock】 "I'm feelin' pretty merciful so I'm just gonna kill you. Not you though. This was your idea after all."

There are a lot of things that describe him, vindictive is one of them. He constantly parades you around and won't go more than an hour to mention you, everyone knows you aren't up for grabs. The only reason he didn't torture everyone involved in taking you is the fact it would take time and he didn't want to use that time to be away from you. So he has his town take you home and he follows soon after. There's still blood on him when he kisses you.

【MacCready】 "You took the wrong person."

There are exactly two people he cares about; his son and you. Everyone else isn't his problem. The second they took you they might as well have put a target on their foreheads and stood in front of him. You'll be there for about a week while he watches them, learning how they operate, then he takes them out one by one quickly and quietly at the end of the week. However, if you are beaten during the time he's watching he will mark whoever participated in his mind and they will die slow.

【Nick】 "Sorry about this."

It takes him no time to find out where you are and negotiate a ransom. He does know who half of them are. That doesn't save them however. He gives them the payment and takes you but the second they open the container of caps it sets off a chain reactions and the compound is destroyed. Of course it's not ideal to kill that many people but sometimes he needs to make a point.

【Preston】 "All settlements that can spare people send them to the Castle."

He was never one for war but if the raiders thought they could get away with kidnapping the General's spouse and hold them ransom he needed to march on the Commonwealth. He didn't care about the message farther than 'do not touch them'. After years of serving the Commonwealth most simply thought this was a natural progression and he was justified in doing it. The overwhelming support he got was enough to move a mountain. And when you got back he doted on you like nothing changed.

【Travis Miles】 "The radio is down for the time being. Until the safe rescue of [Name]."

He tried to rally the city for you but that didn't work so he decided to hold the radio hostage until the authorities did something. It wasn't his idea, the Bobrov brothers gave that to him, but he followed through. Last time he tried to be the hero he had your help but he decided he would come to your rescue with the others. The sight of Travis covered in blood is something you thought you'd never see.

【X6】 "I failed to keep our promise. I would apologize if I felt it was necessary."

After the Institute was taken down you told him he didn't need to kill people anymore. He didn't agree, seeing as people are killed in the Wasteland everyday, but he promised he wouldn't hurt anyone. When you were taken he couldn't stop it because he wasn't armed. He couldn't get to you fast enough while trying to focus on nonlethal means.
