This is stupid short but I think I captured the Soft™.

Summary: Ryo comes home to his mate, they bring him hot chocolate and give him cuddles. 

Ryo open the front to the smell of cocoa. He took a deep breath as the door closed behind him. Stepping into the living room, he was greeted by the sight of his mate curled up on the couch fast asleep. He couldn’t help the smile that spread across his face.

He scooped them onto his arms and settled into the couch. Laying their head on his shoulder, he breathed a sigh of relief and felt the tension drain from his muscles. “Long day?” He nuzzled them, “You could say that.” A whine left him when they sat up but he didn’t stop them. “Want some hot chocolate? I think it’s still warm.” Ryo chuckled, “I would love some.”

They kissed his nose before heading into the kitchen. As he watched them leave he felt content. For years he had felt alone but now he had a mate, someone who loved him just as much as he loved them. “Ryo?” He jumped, “Are you okay?” Nodding he took the drink. “Are you sure?” He pulled them into his lap, “Just thinking about work.” They smiled and rested their head against his chest. “No more thinking about work,” they said sternly. “Yes, Boss!”

Laughter filled the room. Ryo smiled down at his mate, soft moments like this were the best, he thought pulling them closer. He wished they could last forever. As they nuzzled into his chest  with a content smile, just for a moment Ryo let himself believe it would last forever.
