↳ jinho: helping him with a cover of a song for youtube and it’d be a pretty romantic song maybe ed sheeran thinking out loud or john legend or maybe something else like eyes, nose, lips and you wouldn’t realize that he got you singing. i don't think he'd post it and just want to save it for the two of you to rewatch. it wouldn’t matter to him if you were an amazing singer or not, just being able to share that moment with you would be enough for him. so, it would probably become a tradition where you'd rewatch the cover for every wedding anniversary, and maybe you would cover more songs together each time as a little segment on his youtube channel and the members would text him and tease him about it every time lol

↳ hui: i get the feeling that he would bring you to a really nice yet underrated restaurant where smooth jazz is played and people are allowed to go onstage and perform a song. both of you would have the biggest smiles on your faces because the date would be reminiscent of your first one. you'd end the date off with really good wine and of course, hui would go onstage and sing (he'd claim it as practice for your big day) and would leave the audience stunned by his amazing vocals. on the drive home, his hand would never leave yours and he'd probably fidget with your engagement ring with a huge smile on his face.

↳ hongseok: your "date" would be so sweet and domestic because hongseok just gives me homey vibes. like, you'd both go to the grocery store to get ingredients for dinner and a dessert you both like. idk it would be the cutest thing and then you'd head back home and he'd start cooking while you worked on the dessert and you'd definitely catch him staring at you every few minutes with a goofy smile on his face and he'd wiggle his eyebrows playfully. you'd step away for a second to back-hug him and hongseok would smile to himself before he'd turn around to kiss you and he'd pull away to say something really cheesy but it would still put a smile on your face.

↳ yeo one: i think changgu would plan the cutest little picnic in the park for both of you. he'd pack some of your favorite foods and snacks and would even get you flowers or something. it would be the cutest thing and he'd take a flower and put it behind your ear and you'd do the same to him and then you'd go back and forth about who's the prettiest lol then the two of you would lie down and cloud gaze. idk i can see a really adorable dog running over to the two of you and it would really like changgu and it would be such a cute moment that would lead you to discuss the possibility of adopting a dog after the wedding. once the sun would start to settle below the horizon, you'd head home and would probably spend the rest of the day watching a show or movie.

↳ shinwon: both of you would agree on going to a spa and maybe a little shopping. i could definitely see him goofing around with you while in the sauna by making weird faces and telling you funny stories. then, he'd have you rest your head on his shoulder and he'd smile to himself. then, he'd tell you about how he was so nervous to propose to you. after a few minutes he'd realize that you weren't talking only to find you asleep. so, he'd make sure that you would be comfortable and would relax too. i think he'd love to spoil his s/o so he'd really enjoy going to the spa with you and it'd be a nice break from all of the wedding prep. on the way home, you'd both decide on ordering in bc neither of you would want to cook after being at the spa.

↳ yanan: he'd wake up extra early to get your favorite breakfast foods and coffee. when he'd make it back to your apartment he'd be met with you half asleep on the couch and would quickly put everything down to cuddle with you for a few minutes and then you'd eat breakfast together. afterward, the two of you would get ready to go and yanan wouldn't tell you but it would all make sense later. so, the two of you would go to multiple places throughout the city and you were thankful that they wouldn't be too far and at each stop, you and yanan would talk about what happened at each, like, one place was where he took you for your first date and another would be where you both said you loved each other for the first time. looking back on all of the memories would make both of your hearts feel so full.

↳ yuto: i think you'd go to an aquarium or botanical garden and it would be on a day when it wouldn't be so busy and the two of you could goof around and take funny pictures of each other imitating the animals. throughout the date, you'd both feel like little kids on a field trip again. both of you would stop every few minutes to stare at something you'd find interesting and the look on your faces at that moment would be so adorable and you'd have to capture the moments. after that, you would go get something to eat and then walk back to your apartment. on the walk, you'd both reminisce about how you met, your first date, and how he proposed to you.

↳ kino: i feel like hyunggu would go all out but it would still be a pretty laid-back date idk if that makes sense but he'd sign you up for a couples' dancing class where you'd learn how to tango and it would be so romantic and fun, even if you're not much of a dancer. after that, you'd go back home to shower and then he'd take you out to a really nice restaurant for dinner. the two of you would be so impressed with your meals but the highlight of your would be getting ice cream or your favorite dessert from your favorite place but then on your way back home it'd start raining and you'd have to wait it out inside a nearby cafe with steaming cups of tea. the whole situation would be pretty funny to both of you and it'd make for a nice moment to look back on.

↳ wooseok: being the youngest, i don't think he'd plan everything out and would just go with the flow. so, i think wooseok would also enjoy a night in with you as your date, especially if it would be a rainy day. he'd go and get your favorite snacks and drinks the day before and would surprise you with everything. the two of you would spend the day watching movies, playing video games, and just enjoying the calm before your wedding day. somehow, you'd end up talking about some of your embarrassing moments early on in your relationship and neither of you would be able to stop laughing and maybe you'd each go through your camera roll and it'd be a really cute moment for both of you.

The Ingenious One

What a ride this drama was! From the stunning shots, to the smart writing, to the plethora of well acted side characters it just had so much to give me. 

Let’s start with the characters:

Snipping this for length.

Yun Xiang:  Driven by a need to avenge the death of his 300 people family village, eradicated for seemingly no reason, he goes on a quest to find out who did it and why. For a Wuxia drama it’s very interesting to have our hero be a person wholly lacking in fighting skills, in fact the only thing he can do is run, and even that doesn’t last for very long. He is not someone who has a heart of gold in fact his plans will sometimes even endanger his friends, though the more he gets to know them the less that part becomes and he uses his brain to help them where he can.

Shu Yanan: Orphan, adopted by someone of Yun Xiang’s sect, she vows to avenge her adoptive father’s killer and thus her paths cross with Yun Xiang. In contrast to him, she is one of the strongest fighters of the show and physically is much stronger than him, which often makes hilarious things happen. The two of them are immediately drawn to each other and their bond is a big part of what carries the show for me. Shu Yanan is a cypher for the first half of the show, not letting the viewer know most of her thoughts and putting on a mask, even in front of Yun Xiang (but then again, he too changes masks so often it’ sometimes hard to keep up) and only in the latter half of the story does her true motivation/storyline come out but I didn’t mind that. The first half was used to build up their connection and the second half was used to delve deeper into her origin (story) which provided a very nice balance.

Su Mingyu: Initially a spoiled princeling of a rich merchant family with no business aspirations but Big Dreams about being a HERO of the Jianghu but no actual knowledge of what that means. Well he learns, pretty quickly, that despite appearing awesome and brave, actual fighting involves blood and death and the show makes it a point to drive that home. He is a skilled fighter and later on learns to become a man that can support his loved one and family but it does take him some time to get there. He is an AMAZING boyfriend tho, 10/10 in that regard, as far as spoiled rich princelings go you can def do worse.

Ke Menglan: Daughter of a disgraced official, cast down into the lowest societal tier in the very stratisfied Ming Dynasty (or at least it’s based on that) where upward social mobility was all but impossible, she tries her best to get back to the “normal” citizen-tier because she does genuinely love Su Mingyu and their marriage is literally not allowed. She is the very capable manager of what later becomes Yun Xiangs gambling house and their little club-hub and I love that she got her own story about dealing with who and what she was and loved the resolution for that arc since it was her choice and she has faith in SMY.

Jin Biao: Last but certainly not least in the main character gallery is my sneaky bigass sword dealing 10 gold jin per head demanding softie. His plot such as it is, is the simplest, but how can you not love a dude who uses his murder-gotten gains to support jianghu orphans??? Also I loved his little romance plotline, happiness for them always.

And this is just the main characters, there are SO many side characters that play an important role, some that come in later in the story, some that are dispatched earlier (usually bc they’re villains, or bc they get to go on a long deserved trip with their butler/assassin bf) and to put them all in here would cause my fingers to fall off, so i’ll just put a few favourites here:

Mo Bufan (and Kang Qiao): MBF is technically a senior of Yun Xiang, but he’s kinda let go of their sects teachings for the most part and embraced that capitalist lifestyle with his ... protegé? (I always read them as a couple tbh). Like YX MBF is not really a fighter, and they have a very interesting connection because of that, because it takes them a long time to be more than reluctant allies but they do become such great bros it is a delight to see.

Liu Gongquan and Princess Mingzhu: They come in towards the latter half of the story, one as the daughter of a Prince and the other as a former protege who is now an imperial investigator. He is at least as smart as Yun Xiang and it’s great to see them sort of work at cross purposes, feeling each other out and then coming to a tentative alliance. The princess is the usual sheltered naive girl type, but she shows these occasional flashes of smartness that are delightful to me (and LGQ hehe) and it’s great to see that clearly it is mostly a case of her lacking experience and not brain.

This is not nearly all of them, once again but man I gotta swivel to the villains now, because nothing in a show like this works without villains and oh do we have some interesting ones here:

Tang Xiao is our first initial big hurdle, and by god is he a slimeball par excellence. As the owner and proprietor of most of the cities gambling establishments he wields a lot of money and influence and uses it to menace women, be a creep and probably smell really bad. We get to see how he comes to hold on to his position though, because he is clearly adept at wheeling and dealing with people by any means necessary, though in the end that bites him in the butt. What makes him more interesting to me though is the fact that he has two very devoted underlings, one of whom is a female fighter who doesn’t talk much, wears an iconic hat and generally has a terrifying aura but who is very gentle to one of the female sidecharacters who gets caught by Tang Xiao, drugged (and probably abused). I had IMMEDIATE Black Sails Anne flashbacks in my head and though i am loathe to even put Tang Xiao and Jack into similar categories I do wish we could have explored the relationship between TX and his female underling (sorry I forgot her name) and just *why* she did the things she did for him.  At least Tang Xiao did have a very deserving end and I cheered hahaha.

Kou Yuanjie: He was the second Big Hurdle, but he was more of a “stock standard” bad guy: Spoiled Bratty princeling who was power hungry and Big Mad that his older sister is better than him in pretty much every regard: fighting, brain wise, not a psychopath, etc. He can’t stand any minor inconvenience and will use people as he sees fit, even going so far as to let his one devoted underling, who adores him for reasons unbeknownst to me, get killed. She even suspects he’s being shady, but then he kisses her and makes her forget her doubts, basically walking to her death, it’s not great. 

The Big Bad: I have to say as far as villains go, he left me a bit cold because he was using circular rhetoric to justify his end goals/plans, but the impact he had on the story and our characters is significant so I was fine with it.

So yeah, the fact that even my goldfish brain can retain so much for these characters should tell you that they left a lasting impression on me, which is truly not easy.

Let’s talk about the plot now, because on its face it is a fairly standard story, but the characterwriting especially lifts it above and the way the show manages to not spin its wheels but keep the tension going by introducing new revelations slowly but also giving other storylines the ability to breathe while not losing focus was very good for me. I think the ending is not the blockbuster type that I personally would  have preferred, but after everything it felt earned for our characters and I am happy with where they ended up. 

NOW LET’S TALK VISUALS, because this show knows how to set up a scene, how to block a shot to tell a story. So often visual storytelling in cdramas is an afterthought at best it is especially noticeable to me when a visual language is established in a drama and made clear to the viewer. This is not to say this is some Every Frame A Painting sort of show, but whenever the drama wanted to put emphasis on something, it did. 

One of the main ones was the focus on characters’ eyes and faces, there were a lot of closeups of the actors’ eyes and or faces and that’s where having expressive actors helps because I didn’t need dialogue to tell me what a character was feeling. Sometimes it was more obvious, sometimes less so, but it displayed an interiority to these characters’ lives that I feel is missing from many many many other shows. 

The gorgeous cinematography can just speak for itself tbh.

FINAL VERDICT: 9.5/10 maybe a 9 depending on my daily mood but mmmm so good.

CAPTAIN'S SEA SHANTY

synopsis: how did a little fisherman like you capture the captains locked up heart?

notes: i literally love beidou she's so fine THIS IS BARELY EDITED AND PROBS BAD BERY SORRY

stories of the courageous captain beidou and her treks around all of teyvat with the crux crew at her very command where told from ear to ear. her tall tales were told on the docks plenty by other sailors and venders around liyue harbor, so you always fell victim to hear everything about the captain, it was like you knew every single thing about her. beidou defeating haishan and how people feared her after. how she would kill a man if he were to ever spread falsities about her, even her own crew. that she'd command her ship there the most treacherous weather, fighting lighting and sea monsters and not leaving her crew with a scratch!

you knew better though, you know that beidou wouldn't ever dare kill a man, beccause despite her look, she's sweet and gentle. she visits you when she's back from her trips around teyvet, finding you trinkets and buying you the msot exprensive jewels. she cares about others, like the time she offered to buy you a whole knew venders stand for your fish business. beidou loves to spend her free time fishing with you, though she prefers to fish with her claymore versus a rod like you. beidou who bring you on her ship when no ones on, sending ythe both of you onto the sea. blankets laid out, fresh fruits and two fishing rods, open out in the waters. she'd show you all the best spots for the biggest catch. maybe even have a little competition with you.

when the nights get cold while you're outside, so beidou wraps you both in warm cloths, her arms linked around your waist, pulling you into her chest. the sea whistle beneath you all. she'd lightly kiss your temple as she, like everyone else, mutters on about her big acheivements as captain beidou. you hear it so much so that it hurts, you, a little fisherman with the captain of liyue? cutting off beidous stroy, you mutter against her skin. "what do you see in me?" your pretty little eyelashes per up to hers, her brown eyes dark but so dreamy in the longing moonlight. the twinkle in her eyes showing so much adorn in you that you wouldn't beleieve. what couldn't she see in you? she'd see the way you smile so genuinly at her, and not out of fear. she'd see how hard you wroked everyday. how you'd greet every new day with sich optimism. or how how you'd carass her sore muscles at the end of a strong battle, when you'd hold her hand and walk with her along the shore. she seen the world in your, a world she wanted to be apart. "never compare yourself to anyone, even me. you're too cute to be sad right now. forget about that alright? lets just relax on the sea, where we both belong."

she also forgot to mention how she admired all the large catchers you got, and would spoil her crews ears about how's she got the greatest fisher of all of teyvet at her hip. beidou loved you dearly, like no other. you were her siren at sea, her hidden gem. the best treasure a pirate could ever ask for.

aaaah sunnie, i'm sorry for the late reply (again) >_< how are you doing? they really do both fit that dhdjshfksdj though i would argue on a "how crazy is the fashion sense" scale hao would maybe rank a little higher than yanan or maybe i am just a sucker for the way yanan dresses while I find hao's fashion a little peculiar sometimes (i'm saying this affectionately i love hao very much--especially now after watching the concert stream but that's a different story)

Ms. Zheng Suhua, Founder of JOYYE Ceramics, shared the brand's story, highlighting the potential and promising future of combining ceramic art with the apparel industry. Since its establishment in 2002, JOYYE Ceramics has been dedicated to innovating ceramic art and sharing aesthetic lifestyles, creating artistic works that integrate diverse cultural elements.

During in-depth discussions, members of the Guangdong Apparel Culture Promotion Association's expert committee focused on how to identify and seize business opportunities amidst constantly changing market environments. Experts unanimously agreed that enterprises should adjust their brand strategic layouts from a marketing perspective, optimize internal processes, and achieve role transformation to discover new growth points.

Ms. Zhang Jie from Guangdong Zhihua Software shared insights into providing new retail solutions for fashion apparel enterprises. She pointed out that through IT technology transformation, efficiency in product development, supply chain management, terminal performance, member services, and financial settlement can be significantly improved, thereby enhancing overall operational capabilities of enterprises.

At the conclusion of the event, Ms. Zhang Yanan, President of Qingyuan Embroidery Culture Association, introduced the deep connection between ethnic minority cultures in Qingyuan, the handicrafts of mountain embroiderers, and products in the apparel industry. She also shared entrepreneurs' experiences in philanthropic empowerment activities.

→ A/n: Here’s another christmas story for you guys! This story was really fun to write because it’s a very soft theme for us. We hope you like it!

“I said UGLY Christmas sweaters, not cat sweaters, we can NOT wear these!” you yelled amused at your boyfriend Yanan.

“Come on! Why not? You love cats!” He replied, laughing with you. “The cat is even wearing a santa hat!”

You just shook your head, still chuckling lightly.

The streets were bright with all the christmas lights, the cold weather didn’t stop you and Yanan from doing your traditional christmas shopping. You two walked hand in hand, enjoying the winter night and the background christmas music of the stores. It was a simple tradition, but you two made sure to always follow through. There was just something romantic about mindless walking around, admiring all the holiday decorations around the city and choosing each other’s gifts.

“If you wear the cat one, I’ll get myself a matching one and we can use it as our couple outfit!” He said it, so excited about the pet themed sweaters, you almost considered obliging.

“I think we can find better ones, babe” you cupped his cheek, looking him deep in the eyes, trying to be convincing.

“Fine.” he pouted, “but you will have to at least get me one that lights up.”

“Like that Rudolph one?” you pointed a couple racks to his side 

His eyes lit up and he ran towards it, grabbing it immediately

“That’s perfect!” Yanan put it in front of him, posing it for you "I'm gonna go pay for this 

You just laughed again, flashing him a thumbs up. It was your opportunity to sneak away and buy him a surprise gift.

Finishing the purchase, he gladly didn't notice the extra bag on your hands, so you two simply head off to the streets. His hand absent-mindedly found yours, and you smiled at his touch. For a while there, you simply couldn't look away from him. He was looking stunning, the winter lights adorning his sharp features, the colors complementing his skin. He truly looked like a prince, and you felt so lucky to be the one that gets to hold his hand. It was one of those moments that you wish to remember forever. 

Then the idea hit you.

"Babe" you called him. "I think there's something I want to do this Christmas"

"What is it?" He looked curious and excited

"It's a surprise" you said "to make it up for the lack of cat sweaters"

He laughed and it was the most precious sound you've ever heard.

"Alright then, what do we do?" 

"I think I saw the place somewhere along the way, follow me" you finished, turning around in your heels.

You two back tracked until you finally found the studio you were looking for. Stopping in front of the shop, you looked at him and grinned.

"So…" you announced, pointing inside "what do you think of us sending ugly sweater holiday cards this year?"

He shot you a mischievous look before talking

"I don't know, can we have cat stickers in them?"

"You're such a dork" you laughed, hugging his waist, looking up at him

His arms immediately wrapped you in a tight embrace, chests pressed together, as he looked fondly at you

"Your dork." he said.

You couldn't help but smile, feeling butterflies dance around your stomach. 

And then Yanan gently kissed you. The kind of kiss so soft, like you were his fragile porcelain doll. The kind of kiss so full of love that swept you off of your feet.

When you two pulled apart, it took a few seconds for you to find the words to express everything you were feeling at that moment. Truth was that it wasn't that complicated.

"I love you" you blurted.

It wasn't something new between you two, both of you have confessed your feelings multiple times to each other before, but that doesn't mean it wasn't special every time it happened.

"I love you too, y/n" he smiled shyly, pecking your lips quickly 

"Shall we go inside?" You said "there is one more surprise."

He nodded, holding your hand again and entering the store.

You quickly explained to the photographer what you wanted, and it didn't take long for him to set up the scenario, since it was a basic holiday card.

"Now," you turned to Yanan, handing him the bag with the gift you bought earlier "I think we should wear this for the picture."

He opened the package and as soon his eyes landed on it, he laughed surprised.

"You bought the cat sweaters?!" He almost yelled.

"You were so passionate about it, I felt guilty for making you give it up" you shrugged, happy to see him amused.

He wasted no time in putting them on, and you followed his lead, dressing up in your matching version of his.

"I told you I would make up for it." You winked.

It was midnight at Christmas, you and Yanan were hosting a party for you and your friends at your house. The cat themed holiday cards were a success and everyone absolutely loved it. You were feeling all types of content for having such an incredible Christmas, filled with love and joy. 

When everyone left, Yanan and you say on the couch, basking in the celebration mood quietly 

"Y/n." Yanan called you.

"Hm?" You hummed

"I have to confess something," he said, getting your attention. "there is a reason why I wanted you to have that cat sweater."

"What is it?" You said, giving him an encouraging smile

"It actually has to do with your Christmas gift." 

"The necklace you have me?" You asked confused

"No, there's actually another gift" he grinned

He made a quick trip to your shared bedroom, coming back with a fairly big box in hand.

"Here" he put it carefully on the floor "you can open it. I'm sure you will love it."

You looked at him smiling, trying to figure out his plan, but you simply couldn't find the answer.

You anxiously tore out the paper, and as soon as you opened the box, tear started rolling down your cheeks

"Oh my God, Yanan!" You almost yelled, the proud smile on his face looking beautiful as ever. "A kitten?!"

You picked up the small grey cat from inside the box, his big yellow eyes staring at you as he meowed the cutest sound ever. It immediately cuddled up against your chest as you hugged it.

"I think he likes his new mommy" Yanan said

"It's a boy?!" You said excitedly, and yanan just nodded. You wanted to hug the kitten harder, but were afraid of hurting the small baby.

"Was it a good gift?" He asked, voice filled with hope

"I absolutely love it!" You held the cat in one arm, and hugged your boyfriend with the free one "I can believe we're cat parents. We have to take a picture!"

"Wait!" Yanan picked up the cat sweaters that he had brought along with the box "I had the same idea" 

You two laughed together, quickly getting in the outfit, taking the best family picture with you two side by side, holding the new baby kitten between the two of you.

"Merry Christmas, y/n" Yanan kissed your forehead and you nestled up on his embrace, your new cat secure in your arms.
