Mariku felt strangely protective of Kara since he had known her, and when she broke down suddenly, complete with her head resting on his chest as the tears came, he brought a hand up to brush through her red locks.

"Hush now, you're much too lovely to cry, dear." He then took her chin between his fingers. "Understood?" It might have been direct, but it was a way of getting things across. He then leaned in close enough to rest his chin on the crown of her head. “Or should I perhaps give you something to cry about?”

A New Beginning!

@aurorachan Moving to a new country and living in a new area can be a bit scary but yet at the sametime it can also be a fun. Experiencing something new allows you to come out of your comfort zone as it brings you to a new horizon. You get to explore new places you've never seen before. Make new friends and well eventually they end up becoming your new family! That's always exciting right? At least that's what most people thought. Well this year A red head named Kara Stokes along with her two fraternal twin older brothers Ethan and Nathan Stokes we're moving in to what would soon be their new home! And the best part about all this was that this was her first year of college. And she was also going to spend it with her brother Nathan. But all that would come once the three we're finally settles into their new home. But as for her brother Ethan he had his own house as he had a family of his own and they lived close. Things we're defiantly looking up and Kara couldn't wait to begin her new journey!

A New Beginning

@aurorachan A few years has passed by since the gangs last encounters with anything out of the ordinary. But now that all that was in the past hopefully it was long forgoten and they could now live a normal life. And as for Kara, she was happy to finally be reunited with her family. This year things were going to be different. Ethan and Kathrine were doing what normal parents do. As for Nathan he worked as a waiter which was owned by their father. But even so he was still staying with Rose at her place as things were still looking great between the two. Darnell chose to help Tea with some dance lessons. He knew how much it meant to her as decided to expand her horizon by using culture as her guide. He wanted her to achieve her dream. Violet was still being Violet. And as for the trio, Joey, Tristan and Duke, well they were the glue that held the group together. So far none of them had seen nor had they heard from Aiden and that made her and the others even more happy. And she hoped it stayed that way since she herself had moved on. Though she was with Atem, Kara had developed a bond with Yugi, to her he wasn’t just her friend but also a brother and if she needed anything she knew she could go to him. But what made this year seem different was that its been a year since her and the gang had finally graduated from domino high. And now that they were officially college students! The gang decided to go out and kick off their year with a celebration!

"So I may or may not be in jail, and I may or may not have taken Yami's phone, and you were on his recents, so you should totally help his best friend out and bail me out," Bakura said conversationally into the receiver of the police station landline, eyeing the guard who was standing way to close to him. The first few days out of the hospital with Kara’s presence in his household was difficult for Kaiba to adapt to. It had been just him and Mokuba with the odd employee for so long now that having someone else,- who wasn’t paid to be there,-  in his home was something he thought he’d never encounter, ever. He had no need to invite others round when he was content without them, and having her there felt extremely awkward. Not only did it feel like an intrusion of his private life, but she got to see him at his most vulnerable since he was practically incapable of doing anything on his own. Well, except for bathroom visits, bathing and dressing; only Roland was permitted to help him perform such duties.

Learning to tolerate her behaviour was another hurdle too. There were times when Kara was clearly tiptoeing around him so as not to offend or start arguments, though she didn’t always succeed, and then there were the times when she blatantly enraged him for the pure hell of it, teasing him over things that he didn’t find even slightly funny. But as long as they weren’t in school were her jibes would be backed up by Wheeler,- and on the odd occasion even his own brother at home,- he could pretty much deal with her attitude.

Surprisingly, his workload hadn’t caused him the hassle that he’d assumed either. Both Roland and his brother had pretty much kept things in order and running smoothly during his stay in the hospital. His board of directors were also branching out and doing more, whilst still referring back to him with anything that they knew or felt beyond their jurisdiction. Pegasus had made allowances and extensions with their partnership in order to relieve him of Kaiba Corp’s workload during his rehabilitation period. Yugi and co were even helping to organise the planned duel tournament, and Kara saw him through each school day, whether he wanted her to or not.

In short, the whole experience had been one huge learning curve and as the days progressed into weeks, the CEO managed to grow accustomed to having Kara around so much that they were now on first name basis, resorting to using their surnames only when they were annoyed with each other. The fact that feeling and movement had returned to his injured arm helped to put him at ease a little too as he was able to regain a tiny bit more independence. Now if only his legs would do the same...

“Where are you Stokes?” He grumbled to himself, checking his watch as another school day came to an end. They’d had separate lessons for their last period and he was waiting for her to join him before they were due to head to the hospital for his three week check-up with his assigned physiotherapist.
