My Commentary: This small but significant sequence takes place not long after Koushiro is revealed to be a canon Adoptee. Mrs. Izumi is fully aware that Koushiro has accepted Mrs. Izumi (+Izumis both) as Koushiro's true parent{s}, however, we are not given indication that the other supporting characters were actually told about 'the secret' of Koushiro's. Shin's surprise, in that regard, can hardly be held too much against Shin - which Mrs. Izumi eventually quickly recognizes, dropping the argument and frustration - Shin was likely completely unaware how strongly Mrs. Izumi felt during these moments, while Mrs. Izumi was likely running on pure adrenaline responding!

Mrs. Izumi, in the original version, is also using a neutrally polite speech pattern that is overall appropriate when speaking to children; Koushiro, in the original, is also known for speaking throughout the entire series with a formal and polite pattern that is "unusual" for Koushiro's age, while it's more "typical" for Mrs. Izumi to use similar in this sequence.

Shin Kido, Jou's 2nd eldest sibling closer in age, the 2nd born of the three Kidos, is the sibling who appears throughout Adventure Episodes 35~39 and later Adventure-specific episodes (such as flashback sequence in Dark Masters arc) specifically. In the 2nd sequel series, "02", Jou's oldest sibling, Shuu, was introduced. The U. S. dub combined "Shin" and "Shuu" into "Jim", a singular character, but they were actually two separate siblings! (Thus, Jou is speaking to Shin as if Shin is the younger of the two siblings, addressing Shin commonly with a 'casual' "Nii-san", though in this scene, Jou sounds surprisingly more 'assured' and perhaps a slight bit 'full of' self, but is quickly grounded by Sora and Mimi not long after.)

Going back on Adventure x Frontier crossover/comparison rambling, you have heard about how stairs hate Kouchi, now get ready for elevator-hating Taichi.

Listen yall, he was traumatized on NEARLY killed Hikari when he was a toddler, and now in Tri Daigo ACTUALLY dies for him? he will totally have trauma with elevators. Not generally enclosed spaces, enclosed spaces that moves and have some techs like the pod he was in. So basically elevators.

He wouldn't let anyone but Yamato, Sora and Koushirou know, he will try to act strong for everyone for he's the leader. He will say "ahhh you know I'm an athlete and it's healthier to take the stairs" which is believable since he's the soccer team captain and all. man.

Have you ever thought about making a timeline for the Adventure Saga? Like, say in what order the events of the Animes, Movies, Games, CD Dramas, Live Plays occur in the Adventure universe.

Sure, I can try! I don't think I could go as far as listing a timeline of the individual events because of how much of a mess that tends to become (and, honestly, how much personal interpretation is required), but I can try and give a rough outline listing the works involved.

Note that with the exception of the Adventure novels and the stage readings like the ones at DigiFes, Toei and Bandai have never, ever, ever, ever, ever made a statement that you’re supposed to remove anything from canon. If anyone tells you ��this thing can’t be canon because (insert some minor plot or lore contradiction here),” that’s something they arbitrarily came up with, that’s never been the official stance. This is especially because Tag Tamers, which is important for 02′s background, has very glaring contradictions with 02 itself, and of course tri., a six-part movie series that has a major timeline or lore contradiction nearly once every five minutes, still fall under the official stance that they’re supposed to be canon. Even with the Adventure novels, which by nature depict mutually exclusive events with the original series for formatting reasons, you’re intended to take most of its background lore and transplant it back into the original series, and the main reason the stage readings aren't considered strict canon is specifically because they're one-off shows that weren't preserved on accessible media, so it's unfair to expect anyone to have to take it into account (and the reason we know this is the official stance isn’t even from an Adventure thing, but from a certain writer getting upset about this from a Tamers thing). So in other words, I’ll be taking pretty much everything I can think of into account. If you have trouble making it make sense, I’ll leave that to you to figure out on your own.

Idea descriptions under the cut:

Idea 1 – Digimon “Slice of Life” Adventure: It’s been several years since the eight Chosen Children and their Digimon partners defeated Abaddomon and returned to the real world safely. Things have been mostly peaceful since then – aside from having to navigate through early teenage years with their little monster friends. While Yamato’s and Takeru’s parents have reconciled and moved to Shimane with their sons, Jyou is busy trying to apply for early management classes in Tokyo. He is profiting off Mimi’s connections at Tachikawa Technologies, as they both start to make serious plans for their careers in business. Koushirou is heavily involved there as well, as he is not only being provided all kinds of technology by Mimi, but also applying for an internship at the company – all the while him, Sora and Taichi try to get through school, family relations, Digimon shenanigans… And weird occurrences that still seem to disturb the “digital peace” of modern Japan. While they haven’t been able to return to the Digital World, Hikari is still able to feel the connection between the worlds that may or may not have an impact on life as we know it…

Idea 2 – The True Meaning of Team Light and Team Hope: Ever since the Chosen Children have returned to the real world, the memories of their past adventures have left a peculiar impact on them. Not only do they still have visions of Digimon appearing in the real world – which “normal humans” don’t seem to notice –, their connection to the other world and each other has never been stronger. Hikari is the first to notice that she is having similar dreams as Taichi, almost like an otherworldly experience, as she is starting to sense his feelings – as well as Sora’s and Koushirou’s. Slowly, but steadily, the four realize the increased mental and emotional connection among them, which seems to increase with time – all the while Takeru experiences the same with Yamato, Jyou and Mimi. Awkward realizations and emotional outbursts aside, they soon have to face the fact that there is more to the true meaning of their Crests than they were told. New secrets – and new evolution opportunities – will be uncovered…

Idea 3 – Multiverse Gate Hopping: Upon improving their “secret technology base” at their clubhouse at school, Taichi, Sora, Koushirou and Mimi are very invested in exploring the network further, discovering new gates and opportunities to use them for “real world gate hopping”. They are not aware that bugs in the network have been noticing their interferences and their goal to find a way back into the Digital World… So when Taichi actually manages to locate a gate to a parallel world/universe, he and Agumon get sucked in and end up lost between the worlds. Thus, the others have to come up with a plan to bring him back. Little do they know that they’ll be forced to jump right into the multiverse themselves to save their own timeline…
