5 productions. 4 countries. 3 continents. This sonic experience is the reveal film for the first ever Lexus all-electric car. The creative challenge was to express the imperceptible side of nature through sound, exemplifying the erosion between driver and natural world. Logistically, this was my first time directing any part of a shoot remotely (about 75% remote), which at one point involved directing two productions in Japan and Thailand simultaneously. Very fun challenge, made possible by the extraordinary talent who contributed around the globe.
Friends have asked how much of the footage we filmed ourselves, so I’ll come out and say there are THREE shots in this video we licensed and modified instead of filmed. See if you can guess them!

So I stayed up two nights in a row to watch Totsuzen Desu Ga, Ashita Kekkon Shimasu (Everyone’s Getting Married). I don’t regret doing so.
First off, it was Yamamura Ryuta’s first drama and he killed it. I am so proud of him! The way he portrayed his character, the way he spoke, the way he moved - everything was amazing. He truly is talented (being the lead singer of Flumpool and now an actor).
The chemistry between the main leads was just amazing! I haven’t been so impressed since Hana Yori Dango! The way they were so playful. The way they were so comfortable with kissing. The way they walked and talked together. There was something there that naturally drew me in and kept me watching.
The story plot was also so realistic and plain, but the ups and downs were so relateable and the reasons they did things were so easy to understand. I loved every second of it! It wasn’t too dramatized, it wasn’t too comical, at sometimes it was slow, but over all I would defiantly give this a 9/10.
The acting, oh gosh, it was amazing! Japanese actors aren’t world reknowned and I’ve been watching dramas since I was in elementary school, but this drama was one of few that I feel like it was happening in the real world. Both leads were so amazing in portraying their roles that it was so easy to believe they were really their characters.
I could go on for days about this amazing drama, but I highly suggest watching it for yourself! I know that everyone has their own opinion, but my opinion is that it’s amazing and I have a feeling I’m not going to get over it any time soon.
flumpool performed "Kimi ni Todoke" on Ongaku no hi today in Haruma Miura's memory, it was the song used in the movie "Kimi ni Todoke" in which he also starred in ❤️
Ryuta Yamamura (the lead singer of flumpool) wrote:
"We sang Kimi no Todoke.
As soon as the song started, we felt the strongest wind today.
Hope that the thoughts from many people will be sent to the heavens."
