haikyuu ships but its ways they said "i love you" before they had the courage to say "i love you."
daisuga: Suga's favourite movie of all time doesn't really mesh with Daichi. He thinks it's confusing and weird, and the gore is way over the top. But Suga loves it, and the comfort it provides, especially when he's sick, so Daichi always watches it with him even if he hates it. "Why do you always agree to this?" Suga asks, as Daichi's settling in to ride out another viewing. "Because it's something you love," he replies, as if this were the most obvious thing in the world.
iwaoi: Iwaizumi doesn't think he's ever going to convince Oikawa that he's the best setter, or that he's worked hard enough, or that he doesn't need to compare himself to everyone else. But he hates the way Oikawa can't seem to find value in himself outside of some seemingly fickle ranking system in his mind. So when they're fighting, and Oikawa keeps saying that it's just "objective fact" that Tobio is better than him, Iwa has to grab him by the face and tell him: "I won't let you slander things I care about."
ushiten: Tendou had often made the joke about being Ushijima's best friend, because it was funny. All their team, their classmates, always laughed. "He's my bestest bud," Tendou would say, because the whole school knew they made a funny pair, and it was laughable to think Ushijima would ever articulate a sentiment as juvinile as "best friends." Of course, when Ushijima realizes that people find this joke funny, he's very confused. "If it is a matter of not being good enough for you," Ushijima says, because he cannot think of a reason anyone would disparage Tendou, so it must be joke at his own expense, "then I will earn it."
kagehina: Hinata gets injured late in their second year. Its not the worst injury in the world and will heal just fine, but it takes him out of practice for a few weeks at the beginning of summer. He expects Kageyama to forget about him during this time. What good is a spiker who can't jump, can't even practice? But that doesn't happen. Kageyama seems to, if Hinata's not mistaken, dote on him. Carries his stuff, scolds him for not elevating the offended ankle properly, tells him to be careful. "Why are you being so fussy?" hinata asks. "Because I can't stand the idea of you not making a perfect recovery," Kageyama replies. "Who else could keep up with me?"
tsukkiyama: Yamaguchi likes to tease Tsukki over his lack of other friends. "You're too mean, you scare them away!" and "You're gonna have one lonely birthday if the only person who bothers to show up is me!" The last time he said this, though, Tsukki had replied with: "You're enough." and Yamaguchi still hasn't quite gotten over it yet. They celebrate his birthday just the two of them that year.
arankita: Aran came over to help on the farm over spring break. He didn't have to - between you and me, he hated that kind of physical labour anyway - but it was a way to spend a little more time with Kita before they graduated. At the end of the break, Kita surprises him by giving him a key to the house, "for emergencies," just in case. When Aran blusters and tries to ask why, Kita says: "I trust you." Considering Kita has never trusted anything except for himself and his own actions, Aran isn't sure any spoken sentiment could have meant more in that moment.

Killed for Sport (Tsukishima Assassin AU)
"Should I ask you why you have a knife strapped to your leg?"
"It's a dagger actually. And no, you shouldn't." The blonde female glared at the blond male while answering. "And don't act so surprised Kei, you have a gun on yourself ." She continued.
Smirking, the boy reached into his jacket and pulled out a gun. "Well, would you look at that? Are you by any chance psychic Tsukishima?"
No sooner did he say those words than he felt the tip of the dagger against his neck. "Call me that again and I will not hesitate to slit your neck. It's (Y/N)." she snarled. "Just because your father decided to fuck around with my mom doesn't mean we're related."
Her actions didn't make him flinch — not one bit.
Pushing her hand away he dusted his suit and walked past her like it was nothing, "Oh darling sister, that fucking around is the reason you were born in the first place."
He wasn't wrong, clearly he knew it and she knew it too which is what ticked her off. Gripping the dagger in anger, she slowly put it back on her leg and walked behind him.
"Just don't interfere with my work or you might accidentally get hurt, big brother." She ended with a tight-lipped smile and narrow eyes, leaving before he could even respond.
Of course none of that had an effect on him either. He simply chuckled in amusement. "I don't need to do much to get on her nerves."
Kei. Kei Tsukishima was one of the top assassins in Tokyo. After all, he did come from the Tsukishima family and they were all raised to be trained assassins. It was more like a family business for them. Naturally, his half sister (Y/N) Tsukishima was also trained and made to do jobs. She was a year younger than him but stood at 5'9 which really ticked him off sometimes, seeing as how she might reach him soon enough.
At the age of 18, he had already made his way to the top, being the best at what he does. The only other person who came close to him in getting the job done was (Y/N) and so he made it his life's mission to be the perfect thorn in her side.
Isn't that what older brothers are supposed to do?
"Tsukki, that wasn't playing nice." A voice called out from behind him. Not turning to look at the person, he simply replies emotionless.
"I never agreed to play nice Yamaguchi."
"Nevermind her, what's our job this time?" He asks the boy swiftly.
Tadashi Yamaguchi wasn't an assassin like his best friend, rather he worked on the sidelines as his assistant — his eyes and ears on all jobs.
He shook his head in disappointment at the change in subject "Our target this time is Mahiru Kurota" he turns the tablet in Tsukishima's direction and shows him the picture of the guy before continuing. "And he's been accused of doping athletes in exchange for money—"
"Doping is common and normal. Why exactly am I being sent to kill this guy?" He broke in, interrupting Yamaguchi. "Tsukki if you let me finish you'd know." He answered in annoyance.
Rolling his eyes, Tsukishima motions him to continue what he was saying earlier. "Soon after their payments, these same athletes are found dead. They're made to look like accidents but....."
"But that might not be the case." Tsukishima ends after listening to him. Yamaguchi nods in affirmation. "So this guy is taking the money and then killing them off. Ahh what a pain, I couldn't care less about those athletes you know. But a job is a job and since I'm being paid—
"500,000 Yen" Yamaguchi inputs.
"Right, so let's get the job done." He went quiet for a second before he continued. "Is there anything else I should know or do?" He asks.
Yamaguchi goes through his the job details before he lifts up his head and answers. "You've been asked to use you status as Volleyball Player in Karasuno to get close to him."
"Fine." He answers simply.
"That about sums it up. He's hosting a party right now, here's your invitation." He hands him an envelope. "And I'll be monitoring you but they're having a body check at the entrance so we cannot put any electronics on you for communication."
Nodding in response Tsukishima makes his way over to the entrance. "Oh and about (Y/N)—" he tries to call out.
"I don't want to listen to anything about her right now. I'm on a job." and with that he starts walking. Stopping short, he takes out the gun he had had in his coat and throws it towards Yamaguchi.
"Don't think I'll be allowed in with that." He said and walks out of view
"Don't tell me later that I didn't try to warn you." Yamaguchi mumbled as he walked back to the parked van he came in.
At the door, a guard asked for his invitation. "You're Kei Tsukishima?" He asks in suspicion. "Isn't that what's written on the invitation?" Tsukishima lowers his eyes at the guard. "Do the work you're assigned to before I have a chat with your boss about these issues."
Taken aback, the guard apologized profusely as he let Tsukishima enter the party. "The boss is in the back room." He added, hoping that this information would let his past mistake slide.
Clicking his tongue, Tsukishima enters, passing all the drunk and euphoric teens before going through the mentioned door.
"— and the girls team might not be as good as the boys team but this year we're sure to win. After all I am trained by the best middle blocker in the school."
A familiar voice was heard talking as soon as he entered. To his horror he saw (Y/N) sitting across Mahiru and having a chat with him. So this was what Yamaguchi had probably been trying to tell me.
When the two of them noticed him standing at he door, Mahiru got up from his seat, "Kei Tsukishima, I presume. So nice to finally meet you in person." He offers his hand for a handshake.
Tsukishima instead ignores him and nods. "Ahem... So right take a seat please and we can work on the contract." He sits beside (Y/N) who's grinning at him evily.
She had probably figured out the fact that he hadn't known she would be here too. "Hello brother, we were just talking about you." she added slyly.
Returning her smile he retorted sweetly, "Yeah, I heard the part where you called me the best middle blocker." Watching the grin wipe off her face gave him satisfaction like no other.
If Mahiru sensed any tension in the conversation between the two of them, he didn't say anything, probably dismissing it as normal sibling banter. "Here's the contract."
He presents two of the same set of papers, passing one over to them and keeping the other one. His hand hovers over the papers he passed to them, "I hope it's alright that the contract for both of you is made together since you're siblings."
"Actually n—" Tsukishima starts to say but she pinched his side which shuts him up but also earns her a glare. "Oh don't worry it's alright." She add sweetly.
The three of them talk about the details— mostly (Y/N), while Tsukishima takes note of their surroundings and commits them to memory. "—and that is all. Please give your signatures if you agree to these terms."
Oh finally we're done with this facade. When (Y/N) kicked him, he focuses back to them and signs the papers. "If that is all then I'll be taking your leave." Tsukishima replied and walked out.
After he left the room was silent for a while before Mahiru turned to her, "Is he always like that?"
"Yeah, perks of being famous and all." She replies waving him off. "Would you like to join me for drinks (Y/N)?" He asks after a pause.
Keeping the disgust off her face, she turns back and smile at him. "Maybe another time, after all I have practice early tomorrow. Can't win without practice now can I?" she chuckles.
"That's why you came to me didn't you?" He asks curiously.
"Well yes, but I still need to put in my effort. Now then, I shall take your leave too."
The next afternoon (Y/N) was working on the laptop when there came a knock on the door. Without warning, Tsukishima entered, followed by Yamaguchi who was telling him that he should've waited for permission before entering.
"Oh look Yamaguchi, I think she's angry." He said dryly.
"I wonder what gave it away?"
"Well you see you can know her mood by her hands. Like right now, she's holding a gun. I don't think that means she's happy to see us." He stated matter of factly.
She obviously couldn't shoot him. "Not us. You." She added as she put the gun down. "So speak. Why exactly are you interrupting my precious time?"
"Don't talk as if you were doing anything important." He rolled his eyes, "we need to work on this together— I'm not happy either, but we do so just do what I say and we'll get this over with."
She looked at him in disbelief. "Keep your male dominance to yourself. We're doing it my way."
Obviously they would get nowhere with this fight so he decided to humour her for the time being. "How exactly did you enter with that knife?" He asked, changing the subject.
"Dagger." She corrected, "and Yachi took it from me when she gave me the invitation and news that I had to work with an imbecile like you."
"Ahhh—" Yamaguchi interrupted their arguments.
"Mahiru got back with the day you have to pay and collect the drugs. It's a month from now, right before prefectuals actually. So figure out a plan peacefully before then or the two of you will be in big trouble."
Work peacefully with her?
Work peacefully with him?
Having no other choice she decides on her plan of action. Tsukishima takes out some licorice candy and chews on it while she works.
"Put that away will you it's annoying." She muttered angrily. "Would your highness like it if I threw it in the trash?" Surprised at how easily he listened to her, she nods.
The moment she looks back at her laptop she felt the candy hit her face, "oops guess the trash didn't want it." He smirked.
At this point she was practically seething. Of course he wouldn't be so nice as to actually comply with her requests.
"If you do that again I will throw you out that fucking window you— what are you doing?" She asks as she noticed him get off the chair and look out the window.
"Checking how high the drop is, see if it's worth it." He answered cheekily. She was officially enraged. Sitting back down she decided to ignore him until it was needed.
"Poison" she suddenly spoke after hours of silence.
"Car malfunction." Came his swift reply.
After arguing for a few more hours and getting consultations from both Yachi and Yamaguchi they settled on car malfunction much to (Y/N)'s disappointment.
Tsukishima smirked at her victoriously, glad that his idea made more sense for this job.
A month later.
"Don't mess up the plan you trainwreck or we're screwed." He whispers. "Oh shut it you overgrown baby. The only one capable of messing up is YOU." She retorts.
They work in silence, placing the job above their petty fights. After they finish making the changes to Mahiru's car the two of them slip out and go to the destination where they're supposed to meet him.
It wasn't long before they saw his car roll up. "Let's get down to business shall we?" (Y/N) asked in all seriousness when Mahiru entered the room.
"Right." Mahiru pulls out his briefcase and opens it, turning it in their direction. "I assume this is enough?"
Obviously, Tsukishima had to sell his act since he knew he had not been enthusiastic during their last conversation. He looks through the contents in the bag before nodding.
"I'm glad that Karasuno's shield is doing business with me. This will take us places." Mahiru then turned to (Y/N), "and Karasuno's Angel."
Who calls her that?
Who calls me that?
"Well, it was a pleasure doing business with you. Honestly didn't think you'd pull through with this deal but I'm glad you did." She replied putting on a charming smile.
"I'm hurt that you would think that sweetheart." Before she had a chance to reply he continued, "and about the payment?"
"Right. Here you go. That's everything we agreed on." Tsukishima says while handing him a briefcase.
"That concludes our deal then. I hope we can work together again." Mahiru smiles at them and then turns to leave.
Mahiru surprisingly had come alone, seeming to trust them. Dismissing the whirring sound that came from his car when he entered, he proceeded to start the ignition when.....
..... His car blew up. Tsukishima and (Y/N) walked up to car after the blast to see him lying on the floor covered in glass. Somehow still alive, but not for long.
"Please— save me! I'll do—do anything— for you." He cried in pain while holding his hand out to the two of you.
"Then Perish." Tsukishima told him and turned away. (Y/N) offered him a little flying kiss and a goodbye and followed behind Tsukishima, leaving before the bystanders and cops arrive.
Sending their condolences, they walked away, triumphant smiles at a job well done. After a week, when nothing suspicious was recovered from his accident, they were assured that their assassination would never come to light.
It was and always would be considered a tragic accident.

author’s note: guys, i love tsukishima so much, idk why i haven’t written anything for him before. i’m too busy being a sugawara warrior for my office au, but i’m here to show my boy tsukki some love now. i’ve been wanting to do something mistletoe related, and who better to write it for than dear ol’ tsukki? i titled this after the arctic monkeys song because it just seems like a good song to kiss someone to. also, i would like to note this all takes place after the timeskip, so they’re all adults here. and for those who wanted to be tagged, tumblr was being wonky so not everyone was able to be tagged (assuming that has something to do with each individual’s settings), so i’m sorry if i wasn’t able to tag you! and if you’re someone who liked my post when i asked for tags but didn’t specify which post you wanted to be tagged in, you’re getting tagged in all three posts whether you wanted to or not LMAO. enjoy!!!

if there was one thing the volleyball club could all agree on, it was embracing tradition. even if they were all navigating their adult lives, whether that be playing for national teams, studying at university, or working a nine to five, they never failed to reunite around the holidays. specifically, they never failed to show up for daichi’s annual christmas party.
you weren’t a master at the craft of volleyball like yamaguchi and tsukishima, your best friends since childhood, even if tsukishima was what you would call a “meanie” due to his relentless teasing, but that was just classic when it came to him. still, you couldn’t help but be annoyed by it at times, even if those interactions brought you weird butterflies, which may be the most annoying part of it all. but even if you weren’t a volleyball prodigy of sorts, you were roped into being one of the managers of the club, making your mark during your days at karasuno, and most importantly, making lifelong friends.
you sat in the back seat of yamaguchi’s car on the way to the party, regretting your choice of picking the passenger side once tsukishima took shotgun and moved his seat back as far as possible for those long legs of his. it was like your legs were practically being squeezed to a pulp, and you were glad for it to be over once you arrived to daichi’s place.
tsukishima moved his seat forward before getting out of the car, opening your door for you and extending his arm out incase you needed help getting out. it was a snowy night after all, and he knew yamaguchi would scold him had he not lended a hand.
“god, tsukki.” you huff as your boots met with the white blanket of snow on the ground. you immediately let go of tsukishima’s hand once you stand up straight, wiping your gloved hand on your coat as if he were a germ. “wouldn’t have killed you to move your seat up a little. i almost lost all feeling in my legs back there.”
“should’ve picked the other side then.” tsukishima shrugged.
“oh, whatever, you big—”
yamaguchi immediately ran to the two of you, shielding tsukishima as you tried to smack the back of his head and failed miserably. “haha, okay, let’s not do this tonight, guys! we’re here to have fun. i don’t want to see you two bickering at all, okay?”
“yes, dad.” tsukishima groaned like an angsty teenager would.
you roll your eyes at his comment. “i can hold up my end of the bargain, yamaguchi.”
“good.” yamaguchi let out a sigh of relief, although he would hold some doubt just incase he needed to play mediator again. “now let’s head in, okay?”
you both nod in agreement—a shock, honestly—and trot through the snow together before making it to daichi’s front door. it was like you and tsukishima had telepathically agreed to let yamaguchi ring the doorbell, sharing a brief look before he did exactly that. you heard an “i’ll get it!” before daichi opened the door, a glass of what was seemingly eggnog in his hand and notably wearing the most hideous christmas sweater you’ve ever seen.
“hey, you guys finally made it!” he greeted the three of you. “come on, head inside. it’s a beast out there.”
you all walk into the house and take off your winter gear, piling it together over a vacant chair. everyone who arrived already were seen mingling, grubbing on snacks, drinking booze, or basically all three. tanaka and kiyoko were found sharing a kiss under the mistletoe, blushing as everyone watching cheered them on. no one would ever get over them actually ending up together after high school, you included.
“i’m gonna go find yachi.” yamaguchi said, hoping he can successfully admit his crush on her in high school, one that necessarily never went away. “don’t kill each other in my absence, please?”
“i’ll let the alcohol kill me first.” tsukishima rolled his eyes.
yamaguchi sighed before he walked away to begin his search for yachi, starting off with asking kiyoko where she was. you turn your attention to tsukishima, who stood with his arms crossed as he scanned the party.
“i thought you hated alcohol.” you say to him, remembering how tsukishima once said he hated the way it made him feel.
“i know what i said.” he replied, always so blunt in the way he spoke.
“whatever.” you scoffed. “go bully hinata and kageyama or something.”
“well, don’t threaten me with a good time.” tsukishima said with a smirk before he disappeared into the party, leaving you all alone.
there was plenty to do here. you could catch up with kiyoko and get the deets on her and tanaka. you could talk to asahi and joke about how you use to have a crush on him in high school when he had his low bun phase. or, the best of all, eat and drink to your heart’s content while you avoided burning out your social battery. as much you loved them, you always found yourself exhausted after a day with your former classmates. too much chaos for your liking. it was almost miraculous yamaguchi and tsukishima actually volunteered to put up with such mayhem before you came along too.
you weren’t that heartless though. you caught up with everyone, exchanging quite the jokes about the old days. your favorite was a joke about how sugawara’s hair could get any more gray. he always insisted it was a “very ashy blonde,” but you all laughed about it anyways. no one was innocent though, as there was a joke for everyone, including you, specifically your past crush on asahi, who blushed out of embarrassment at the mention of it.
at some point, you excused yourself from the chatter and made your way to where the food was, the best part of this whole shindig. there was just about anything you could think of; chips, dips, cookies, sodas, booze, and of course, plenty of eggnog. it was the ultimate safe haven, and thank god for daichi for never skimping with each passing year.
you eventually found yourself standing all by yourself, leaning your head against a doorframe connecting to the hallway as you watched tanaka and nishinoya re-enact the “it’s tricky” dance from white chicks. they never failed to put on a show, that’s for sure, but it was funny to see kiyoko look so embarrassed yet so in awe at the same time.
unbeknownst to you, tsukishima walked up behind you, his head bumping right into a mistletoe, one you had no clue was there the whole time. of course you didn’t know, you were shorter than tsukishima, so you would have to look up to notice it, unlike your much taller friend who walked into it face first.
“y/n… have you have been oblivious to this mistletoe the entire time?” he asked you.
“what mistleto—“ you turn your head and look up to see the dangling plant, but with tsukishima’s face right there next to it. there was no way you were in this position right now. “oh…”
tsukishima found himself in a fit of laughter, for reasons you were unaware of, which made you pout. “why are you laughing?”
“nothing, nothing.” he said, taking a deep breath so he would stop laughing.
“does the thought of having to kiss me under the mistletoe make you laugh?” you ask. why else would he laugh in your face in such a way? if you were the one to find him under the mistletoe, you would have kissed him without hesitation. at least you would get to know what it would be like.
your question sent tsukishima into a spiral of worry. even if he teases you, he doesn’t want to actually hurt your feelings. with some people, yeah, they deserve a little hurt, but you? you were the least deserving of it. he had his own language, and although most times you were pretty damn good at deciphering it, this wasn’t one of those times.
“what?! no!” tsukishima immediately protested, but you had a hard time believing him.
“then why did you laugh?” you frown.
“i just… i find it funny that none of these fools hopped at the chance to find you under the mistletoe and kiss you.” he said plainly, trying to play it off as cool as possible.
“huh—” you were ridden with confusion, but before you had the chance to speak another word, tsukishima planted a quick kiss onto your lips—your eyes widening as he kissed you—and walked away, leaving you absolutely speechless.
what could he have possibly meant by that? did he… like you? no, there was no way, you were sure of it. not when he teased and bickered with you like his brain was wired to always do that when you were within vicinity of him. not when he opened the door for you like a gentleman or carried your bag whenever it was heavy in shocking acts of kindness.
wait. maybe he did like you and that was his way of showing it. but then again, you could just be insanely delusional.
swimming in these mind blowing thoughts, you stand there frozen until the sounds of a champagne bottle popping snapped you back to reality. tsukishima was nowhere in sight, and you knew you had to find him. you couldn’t just move past this like it was nothing. it was something, wasn’t it?
you search throughout the party, asking around if anyone had seen tsukishima. unfortunately, you didn’t get any results. eventually, you found yamaguchi and yachi giggling together, and you figured if someone knew of his whereabouts, it would yamaguchi.
“y/n!” he jumped when you rushed towards him and yachi. not long before you came along, tsukishima ran up to him, rambling about how he kissed you then completely vanished. “you’re trying to find tsukki, aren’t you?”
“of course, i am!” you exclaim. “where did he go?!”
while yamaguchi was too flustered to respond, yachi had paid attention far better than the shy man beside her. “he went out the front door without his coat.”
“yachi, i love you.” you say as you quickly hugged her and wandered off to find tsukishima just where yachi said he’d be.
the front door creaked as you stepped outside. you immediately shivered over the sudden contact with the brutal, cold air, a stark contrast compared to the warmth of daichi’s living room. tsukishima stood alone, not wavering by the sound of meeting him out here. he knew you’d find him, of course he did.
“you think you can just kiss me and walk away like that?” you question, getting straight to the point.
tsukishima turned to face you, shrugging his shoulders in response. “that’s the point of a mistletoe, so yeah.”
“why are you out here, anyway?” you ask, rubbing your hands together for warmth while tsukishima didn’t seem phased whatsoever. “it’s freezing. come on, let’s get back inside.”
“it’s crowded in there.” he said. “i like it when it’s just me and you.”
“why?” you furrow your eyebrows. this is so unlike him, you thought. “you’re always so mean to me.”
“i’m not mean.” yeah, and you were slenderman. tsukishima was such a bad liar, it almost made you want to laugh.
“yeah, you are.” you argue. “you’re always teasing me.”
“if i’m so mean, then why did you come after me?” tsukishima argued back, towering over you and he stood close to you. “why are you still standing here in the freezing cold?”
“i don’t know. i just…” you weren’t sure if it was the closeness or the cold weather making your cheeks blush, but you wanted it to stop before you ended up making a fool out of yourself.
“just… what?” he asked. his height made him seem so intimidating, but you refused to falter. you had to know what his words meant before he kissed you.
you shy around the question at first, but eventually blurt it out and anxiously wait for his answer. “what did you mean when you said you found it funny that no one had hopped at the chance to kiss me under the mistletoe?”
“y/n, are you an idiot?” tsukishima questioned as he let out a chuckle. it infuriated you that this was how he was treating this conversation, but you were so oblivious.
“see, that’s what i mean! god, you’re such a meanie, tsukishima—” you’re cut off by tsukishima pressing his lips against yours, lingering longer than your initial kiss under the mistletoe. he placed his hands on your waist as he pulled you in as close as humanly possible. your eyes widened at first, just like before, but you quickly melt into his touch. you could almost feel yourself warming up right now.
when you pull away from the kiss, you look around incase there were any mistletoe hanging around, but alas, there were none in sight. “there’s no mistletoe.”
“i know.” he said.
“then why?” you question.
“you seriously haven’t figured it out?” tsukishima asked.
“i’m an idiot, am i not?” you force a laugh.
he shook his head. “out of all the idiots in the world, you’re my favorite.”
you almost swore you saw his pupils dilate when you looked into his eyes. “i thought that was yamaguchi, actually.”
“no… that’s not what i meant.” tsukishima let out a sigh from frustration. “god, you make this so difficult, y/n.”
“what’s that supposed to mean?” you raise an eyebrow.
“i’m trying to tell you that i like you.” he said bluntly. there was no other easy way to say it rather than blurt it out, and you were too in shock to process it.
“come again?”
“i like you. i’ve had a crush on you since we were kids, y/n.” tsukishima admitted. even so, you couldn’t tell if he was being for real or not.
“if this is a joke, it’s not funny.” you cross your arms.
“it’s not!” he stammered. “i’ve never been so serious in my entire life. i’m just… not good at the whole feelings thing.”
to see that look in tsukishima’s face, one you deciphered as a look of love, you had to know that he was serious. he was never one to put himself on the line like this, always putting logic into everything he did. but love wasn’t logical, and for tsukishima kei to be capable of love—or at least some sort of feelings—well, that was a miracle in itself.
“well, in all the years i’ve known you, tsukki, that’s been abundantly clear, but i would have never guessed this.” you say.
“i know, and i’m sorry.” he looked down, seemingly ashamed of himself. “you can just pretend i didn’t say anything.”
“why would i do that?” you ask. you actually couldn’t believe he would suggest such a thing. there was no way you would ever forget this.
still, the question took tsukishima by surprise. “why wouldn’t you?”
you can’t deny how tsukishima made you feel. the fluttering in your stomach, the burning cheeks. you hated it so much before, but now you found there was no reason to hate it at all.
“well… out of all the meanies in the world, you’re my favorite, tsukki.” you reply to his question.
“i am?”
“yeah… idiot.” you blush.
his typical resting face turned into a soft smile—not like his usual mischievous grin—a look you loved to see in all its rarity. it made all those moments you shared so, so worth it.
“you’re smiling.” you tease him.
tsukishima immediately wiped the smile off his face and pretended to act as stoic as possible, but it wasn’t working that well. “am not.”
“you so were!” you grin, gently poking his arm. “ah, look at me, teasing you. the tables have turned!”
he couldn’t help but laugh, letting his guard down completely. “only you can tease me like this, y/n.”
“i’m glad.” you say before tugging the sleeve of his sweater. “now come on, let’s get inside. i’m sure everyone is wondering where we are.”
“no…” he shook his head. “i just wanna stay here with you a little longer.”
“but it’s cold.” you whine.
“i’ll keep you warm, y/n.” tsukishima said before wrapping his arms around you and pulling you in close. true to his word, he kept you warm, and he’ll do it over and over again, no mistletoe required.

MSBY (Tadashi Yamaguchi)
Growing up you always knew what you wanted to do!
That's right- coach and/or play professional volleyball 🏐
You grew up in Miyagi prefecture, right next to your childhood bestie, Yamaguchi
This is pre-Tsukki days 💅🏼
You both would play volleyball and other sports during the long summers
"YN you are so good at sports"- Yamaguchi would always tell you
When you moved away, you always kept in contact with Yams
Please he's one of those people who values all friendships 🥰
As you grew older, you decided that coaching was more your style
Enter MSBY 🙌🏻
I just want to say YN, thoughts and prayers for what you go through daily 😅
Now Yams knew you coached MSBY and he told you about the bubbly ginger who he went to high school with
You never mentioned to Hinata that you knew Yams because it's just never came up 🤷♀️
We keep things professional here
So when Yams reached out, asking if youd like to get lunch you immediately said yes!
He agreed to meet you at the MSBY gym so you could walk to the restaurant
When Yams showed up, Hinata about lost his ever loving mind 🤣
"YAMAGUCHI YOU CAME TO VISIT ME"- Hinata 🥺
"Actually"- Yams 😅
"Oh my god, wait did you go see Kageyama before this??"- Hinata 😑
"Umm no"- Yams
"SCORE! I always knew you liked me better than you liked him!"- Hinata says, punching the air
You walk over to Yamaguchi who looks at you and smiles
"Oh YN! This is my friend from his school Yamaguchi!"- Hinata says introducing you
"I know Hinata, I've been friends with Tadashi since I was a kid"- you say greating your friend
Hinata 👉🏻👁👄👁 really???
"Yep!"- you 🥰
There's a few seconds of awkward silence before Yamaguchi says "well YN we should head out"
"I'll be back in a while Hinata. Don't you DARE step foot on that court until I get back or I'm not putting you in the starting line up"- you 😑
Hinata 👉🏻👁👄👁 umm yeah ok...
You leave with Tadashi to enjoy a peaceful meal and catch up with and old friend ❤️
Team Japan (Kentaro Kyoutani)
You've been friends with Kyoutani for years
He's definitely onenof those people who cherishes friends whi stand by his side
And may times you baled him out of trouble YN 👀
You also supported his desire to play volleyball
And he supported your desire to coach a sport you loved
While you loved to play, your real talents lied in managerial work and coaching
You were able to keep track of plays, stats and you knew the game perfectly!
You'd often practice with Kyoutani after school and on weekends 🏐
After high school, Kyoutani joined the Sendai Frogs and you went on to manage various teams
Until finally... it happened 😳
You landed a dream job coaching Team Japan 🙌🏻
Seriously what an honor!!
When you told Kyoutani, he was so proud of you it was unreal!
He asked you out for celebrate drinks after your first week of coaching
He agreed to meet you ag the gym
Not sure if that wad a great decision but here we are 😅

shame
pairing: tsukishima kei x gender neutral!reader
warnings: mild jealousy. kissing.
request: hii may i request for secret relationship with tsukki and when one of the third years caught them.
notes:
navigation
TSUKISHIMA KEI IS NOT ASHAMED. He has never been ashamed in his life, because he has nothing to be ashamed of. Or so he says, but Yamaguchi can name several moments from their childhood that Tsukishima would kill him for bringing up.
Regardless, he is not ashamed— and will never be ashamed — about his relations with Y/N L/N. They had been dating for quite some time now, and it had been a mutual agreement to keep things... quiet. It’s not like Tsukishima was a fan of PDA, he definitely didn’t need the teasing that would come with his relationship status, and he was perfectly content with a private and intimate relationship.
That’s how he liked it, private. And as long as Y/N had no qualms with it, he intended for their relationship to stay that way.
While Tsukishima enjoys the fact that the Karasuno Volleyball team has no dirt on him— or at least, less dirt than they could have— he does not always enjoy how blissfully unaware they are of his relationship with Y/N. Mostly because the teasing he does receive from his teammates is still, somehow, centered around Y/N. And partially because of the nature of their personalities.
Some of them are more friendly than others. A little too friendly. Sometimes bordering flirtatious type of friendly.
“You know Y/N, we could use another good-looking manager.”
Kinda like how Nishinoya was acting right now.
Tsukishima wasn’t the type to get jealous, or at least, that’s what he told himself. There was no reason to be jealous at all, not when he was perfectly secure in his relationship. Totally, completely, and utterly secure. Y/N wouldn’t cheat on him, he knew that. And Nishinoya definitely was not a threat, at all. It was Nishinoya.
He was just a little frustrated.
Y/N offers Nishinoya a smile, and Tsukishima doesn’t really know what comes next in the conversation because Tanaka is suddenly at his side, wiggling his eyebrows. “Feeling a little... jealous?” There’s a grin on his face that leaves Tsukishima sighing in annoyance.
“Why would I be jealous?” He pushes his glasses up on the bridge of his nose, leaning down to lift his bag up off the ground and slip it onto his shoulder, only to be met with Sugawara’s face in front of his own as he stands tall once more.
The vice-captain hums, eyes narrowing at his underclassman as he places a hand onto his shoulder, “Y/N would you mind closing up the gym today with Nishinoya?”
At that, Tsukishima can’t help but tense up, and it seems he and Y/N have the same thought as they offer him an apologetic smile, opening their mouth to agree when Tsukishima speaks— “I can close it with them.”
If he’s honest, he didn’t expect to say that. And from the look on Y/N’s face, they didn’t expect him to say that. Okay, maybe he was a little jealous but Tsukishima didn’t need to acknowledge that he could just... pretend he wasn’t jealous, right. He could pretend that no one was looking at him, not a single person was giving him that annoying look that said ‘you are so whipped for them’ or anything like that.
Everything was fine.
He cleared his throat, placing his bag back down as he tried to ignore Nishinoya’s snickers, “anything else to add, Tsukishima?”
Tsukishima simply glares at him before turning to Y/N, “help me with something in the storage room, would you?” He doesn’t add anything else before heading over to the room, trying to ignore the burning in his cheeks as he steps inside, taking note of everyone’s goodbyes.
When Y/N steps inside, he doesn’t bother to look at them as he grabs the basket to collect the volleyballs scattered around the floor.
“Feeling jealous, Kei?”
“No.”
His response comes a little too fast and Tsukishima can’t help but want to smack himself in the face for it as he grips the cart a bit too tightly. Behind him, Y/N raises a brow, humming in response as their hand goes to his wrist, tugging lightly in an attempt to garner his attention.
Tsukishima doesn’t stop them from pulling his hand from the cart and turning him around to face them. He’s met with Y/N’s grin, and as badly as he wants to be annoyed by how much pleasure they’re taking in this, he can’t find it in himself to do so. Instead, he manages a simple, “what?”
Y/N laughs, they laugh, and god it sounds nice and Tsukishima is struggling to ignore how close they are. They’re already in a relationship why is he acting like a stupid lovesick kid? For about the thousandth time in the past thirty minutes, Tsukishima wants to hit himself as their arms wrap around his neck.
“Nothing.” Comes Y/N’s response. Though the way their hand comes to the back of his neck says otherwise. Not that Tsukishima stops them from pulling him downwards to meet their lips.
He stumbles slightly from the sudden action, one hand catching the wall for the support while the other moves to Y/N’s waist, tugging them closer as their back hits the wall. Y/N’s hand moves to tug at his hair and he can’t help the way his breath hitches against their lips.
It’s nice. Really nice.
Until the door swings open and Sugawara and Daichi stand before them. “No way.” Sugawara’s mouth gapes open at the sight and Y/N contemplates shoving Tsukishima across the room as the pair pulls away from one another comically fast.
“Oh god.” Comes Daichi’s mumbled addition, hand coming to his forehead as he takes a few steps away from the scene Sugawara is likely about to cause.
Tsukishima is adjusting his glasses as he tries to ignore the blush flooding his cheeks and mentally prepares himself to face the two third years, though Sugawara beats him to it as he exclaims, “are you two finally together?!”
Tsukishima opens his mouth. Closes it. Looks to Y/N, who simply waves him off, indicating for him to do as he pleases. They look cute, free hand covering their mouth as their eyes are wide in the horror of being caught by their seniors. So, Tsukishima simply sighs as he looks back up to Sugarawa.
“We’ve been together.”
Here we go.

Pride
Ennoshita x trans!m!reader
“Hey guys?” You were startled out of the studies you were cramming into the first years heads by Hinata’s curious voice, “Pride is a sin, right?”
“Oh, for the love of-“ Tsukishima just face planted onto the table in front of him, Yamaguchi looked genuinely confused, and Kageyama was having his own crisis.
“SIN!? I thought they were teaching us math!”
“We are teaching you math.” You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose. “Hinata- I don’t even know where to start here. What brought that up?”
“I heard you talking to Ennoshita earlier, he was asking you to go to the pride parade with him.” That seemed to bring Tsukishima back to life, if only to tease you.
“Oh? Our manager and the future captain going on a date?”
“No! Maybe! I don’t know- shut up!” You groaned, “I am gonna ask coach to bench all of you. Make Yams a starter, at least he respects me.”
The mentioned boy laughed, “Come on, Y/N, as much as Tsukki acts unbothered you know he’s always interested in spilling tea.”
“Why would you spill tea? Shouldn’t you drink it?”
“Oh dear lord, Kags.” You rubbed a hand over your face. “Spill the tea means gossip. Back to the interruption, Hinata- ignoring you eavesdropping- why are you worried about pride being a sin?”
“Because why is there a parade if it’s bad!” The ginger exclaimed, “Is it bad if you go? Is it a parade against pride?”
Tsukishima just sighed, “You know, I never thought I’d be glad you’re dating the king, but now I am. Maybe it’ll save some poor girl from needing to bring more of you into the world.”
“Tsukki!” You yelled, swatting the tall blonde on the head with your notebook while he glared at you. “Hinata, what you heard was Chikara asking me to attend the gay pride parade with him. The pride sin is about-“
“Please don’t teach us more things.” Kageyama asked quietly.
“They are different, okay?”
“Okay but what is a pride parade?”
Your head was already hurting with this lesson, and while you really like Hinata and his bright personality, today was a day you’d rather throttle him. “Okay. You know something?” You pulled out your phone before any of them could reply, shooting messages into a group chat with your fellow managers as they watched curiously. Once you got the confirmation, you looked back at the boys, “We’re doing some team bonding this weekend. At the parade.”
As much as Tsukishima vehemently voiced his disagreement with the idea, come Saturday he was still walking next to Yamaguchi to the agreed meet up. You arrived with Ennoshita. After explaining to the team the idea, he had asked if you’d want to meet up to walk together, and you jumped at the chance to hang out with him one on one. You apologized that you changed the plan without consulting him, but Kiyoko and Yachi agreed with the idea, seeing as most of the players fell into some category even as just an ally, like Tanaka, to the ones that fell into other categories, like yourself. You hadn’t actually come out to the team yet, only Kiyoko and Daichi knew as the two that worked with you the most, so you decided what better time and beelined for the first face paint booth you saw.
With yours hand hovering over your newly painted cheeks, you trekked back to the team, “Hey guys, I know most of you guessed this one.” You laughed, revealing the gay pride flag on one cheek, “But most of you didn’t know this one.” This time you bit your lip, pulling your other hand away hesitantly until they could clearly see the trans flag painted there. Daichi and Kiyoko just gave you a thumbs up, knowing that your nerves weren’t because you actually thought the team would reject you.
“What’s it mean?” You blinked as you looked at Hinata staring at you curiously.
“Uh-“ you felt your face flush, of course he wouldn’t know. “It- well it’s the trans flag. I wasn’t…born a boy.”
“Oh! Cool!”
“That’s it?”
“Is there more to it?” He tilted his head like a puppy and most of the team suppressed a laugh, “You say you’re a boy, right? So that’s it. Am I missing something?”
“No, Hinata, for once you actually have it right.” Tsukishima snorted, “Y/N was just nervous how we’d take it.”
“What do you mean for once!?”
As the two of them fell into yet another argument, you chanced a look at Ennoshita. You’d been harboring a crush on him that could probably be seen from space, and weren’t sure how he’d react to this news, but your worries died down a bit when he was just smiling at you. Noya leaned into you, whispering, “You know most of us remember you from last year, right?” You almost wanted to throw up at the thought. You hadn’t gotten approval for your new name and boy’s uniform until this year.
“Noya!” Kiyoko snapped, making the boy yelp and hide behind Asahi, who looked terrified to have Kiyoko’s glare in his direction, even if it was for the small boy behind him. When she spoke again, her voice was much calmer, “I’m proud of you, Y/N. I know it’s been torture for you these few months, thinking you had to hold it in.”
You forced a smile, “Yup! But now it’s uh- it’s out.”
The senior girl just shook her head, “Don’t worry. I’ve replaced your picture in all of their yearbooks from last year already.”
“How-“
Ennoshita out a hand on your shoulder, “When you joined the team. She said she wanted to make sure she had signed them properly, and when we got them back…well, we couldn’t tell at first. If that makes you feel better? She did a really good job.”
Without thinking twice, you hugged her, “Thank you.”
“Anything to make sure you’re comfortable with us.”
“I’m more comfortable with your guys than anyone else in the world.”
“Then why are you always so nervous around Ennoshita?” Hinata bounced back to the conversation as Tsukishima wandered away with Yamaguchi.
“Ginger!” Your heads snapped up to see Coach Ukai on the edge of the group- when had he gotten there? “It’s obvious why he’s nervous. Why do you think they were supposed to come to this together?”
“To hang out?” You and Hinata offered together, but your answer was much more nervous.
Ukai just sighed, muttering about how he never wanted kids of his own if this is how dumb they were now, but Takeda just laughed beside him, “Come on, we’ll give the two of them some time to work it out.”
As if on cue, Daichi was ushering the rest of the team away, leaving you with the future captain. “Um.”
“It’s okay, Y/N. I didn’t actually ask you to be my date, but- well I guess I was hoping you’d just assume.” Ennoshita rubbed the back of his neck, “Sorry. I’ve never actually asked a guy out before- or anyone really?”
You couldn’t help the laugh that came out of your throat, “I guess Tsukki was right after all, Chikara. Their manager is on a date with their future captain.”
He gave you a smile, and you shyly reached out until you grasp his hand. “Come on, neither of us are doing a good job in the others get into trouble.”
“Yeah, we should catch up.” Neither of you moved, “Let’s take our time though. Okay?”
“Okay.” He grinned, squeezing your hand.

allergic to you
Word Count: 3, 713
Pairing: Tsukishima Kei x High School Age!Fem!Reader
Warnings: some swear words I guess, but as per usual, it’s just fluff from me.
A/N: Guess who’s finally joined another fandom lol hello Haikyuu fandom! Pls be kind, it’s my first time writing for this fandom but I am in love with Karasuno boys, it’s problematic. Anyways, please let me know if you liked it! Sorry if I didn’t quite capture him the way other writers do haha. Also, Y/N = Your (Last) Name, just cause typing Y/L/N is exhausting lol my b
(Not my gif, credits to the original creator!)
Yamaguchi was trying his very hardest not to laugh, his hands clasped together in front of his lips to stifle his giggles as the tall blond boy he had known for years just looked at him desperately.
“It’s not funny,” Tsukishima’s lips formed into a frown (almost a pout), looking away from his friend nervously. His fingers played with some chopsticks, poking at his uneaten lunch.
Yamaguchi had never see Tsukishima Kei nervous. Volleyball games? Totally calm. Math class? Easy. Exam season? Piece of cake.
But put Tsukishima near a girl? No, scratch that. Not just any girl. Put Tsukishima near Y/N? It was all over for him. Suddenly, this 190cm tall boy wanted to shrink small enough to run away and not be noticed.
“It’s a little funny, Tsukki,” Yamaguchi insisted, finally letting out just a tiny chuckle that he just couldn’t hold back. “I think you’re overreacting. Just a bit.”
Tsukishima’s eyes turned back to the other boy, staring at him as if analyzing him, “How could I be overreacting? I’m telling you, I’m allergic!”
Yamaguchi was really trying his best to be supportive, knowing that talking about things was already hard for Tsukishima, especially when involving a particularly cute girl. “You think... you’re allergic... to Y/N,” Yamaguchi retorted slowly, repeating how Tsukishima started this convo with.
“Don’t be an idiot,” Tsukishima scoffed, rolling his eyes. “Obviously it’s some product she uses or something,” his nose scrunched up slightly as he tried to think of what it could possibly be. “Like that hand lotion she uses. The one that smells like vanilla and brown sugar,” Tsukishima proclaimed, nodding to himself like he had solved the mystery.
The green haired boy was still trying his best to be supportive. He nodded slowly, giving a forced smile to his best friend as he slowly spiralled into insanity. He had never seen Tsukishima this desperate for answers before. “Hasn’t she let you use some of that hand lotion?” He wondered aloud, remembering very specifically how red Tsukishima’s ears got when she rubbed a bit into a rash he had gotten on his hand.
“Gotta take good care of your hands if you play volleyball, Tsukishima-san!” Y/N had beamed, her fingers massaging the cream in.
Tsukishima had practically fainted that day, though he’d never admit it.
The blond’s frown tightened, holding his hand to his chin in thought, “Right. So not the hand lotion then.”
“Maybe she got a new perfume?” Yamaguchi offered, nibbling on some of his lunch while Tsukishima thought it out.
“No, she’s still using the same one,” He mumbled, and Yamaguchi smirked to himself, knowing that Tsukishima would’ve never admitted before that he knew little details like this about her.
“Well. what kinds of symptoms do you have? Maybe that’ll narrow it down,” Yamaguchi suggested, leaning his head back on the wall behind them. It wasn’t unusual for Tsukishima to want to eat some place quiet, but today had been the first day that he had practically dragged Yamaguchi to this small secluded spot behind the school. The two of them sat against a wall to eat, though Tsukishima’s lunch had been completely forgotten.
“I just-” Tsukishima hesitated, eyebrows furrowing in annoyance as he tried to word how his body felt every time she was around. “I always feel so lightheaded. And my heartbeat’s always irregular too. Sometimes it feels like I can’t breathe properly.” His hand slid into his jacket pocket, pulling out his phone and tilting the screen towards Yamaguchi to show him a medical diagnostic page on the web. “Some people say these are symptoms of allergies. Or an anxiety attack. But I’m leaning more towards allergies.”
Yamaguchi squinted at the text, “You... Googled it?” He asked, a playful smile on his lips, glancing up at Tsukishima, amused.
“Well, what else am I supposed to do?” Tsukishima scoffed, scrolling through the page. “I don’t know what else it could be. It’s not with anyone else. It can’t be the classroom either, cause when she’s not around, I don’t feel anything.”
“Hm. So what’re you going to do about it?” Yamaguchi asked, going along with this ‘allergic’ idea as much as he could. He knew Tsukishima was very rational and even if he suggested what he figured was happening, Tsukishima would never listen.
“D-Do?” Tsukishima blinked. He hadn’t thought about what the next step was.
“Well I assume you don’t want to keep feeling that like right? You could always ask the teacher to move you, I suppose. Then ask her not to attend any of our games. Avoiding her for the rest of your life seems like the best choice doesn’t it?” Yamaguchi asked innocently, closing up his lunch box and taking a sip from his juice.
Tsukishima stayed quiet, eyebrows still furrowed and the frown on his face tightening. He knew that made sense - one of the girls in their class was allergic to nuts and she always had to be careful what she ate, and he had even heard of some people not eating or drinking milk products because of allergies. The logical part of his brain agreed with Yamaguchi, perhaps staying away from Y/N was the only answer.
“Then... maybe it’s not an allergy,” Tsukishima mumbled quietly. He hated going back on his word but he couldn’t deny that he loathed the idea of not seeing Y/N’s smile ever again. Or seeing her sit with someone else. “Maybe it’s just something I have to get used to.”
“You know, Tsukishima,” Yamaguchi started again, looking off to the scenery that was in front of them. His voice was light and airy as he tried to coax his friend to the idea, “What you’re going through sounds a lot like-”
Tsukishima could hear it in his voice, he knew the next word forming from Yamaguchi’s lips before it even entered the air. He slammed his lunch box closed and stood up abruptly, turning away from the other boy’s eyes. “Lunch is over,” he grumbled, as if that was the reason he stood up so dramatically.
Yamaguchi smirked and packed up his things, shaking his head slowly when Tsukishima wasn’t looking. He wasn’t at all surprised that Tsukishima was having a hard time accepting his feelings.
The word hung in the very serious boy’s mind for the rest of the day. He tried not to focus so much on Y/N as he sat next to her for the rest of their classes, tried to not inhale too much or look in her general direction, in fear that his “allergy” would act up again.
He was almost positive it wasn’t... that. He would know for sure if it was, wouldn’t he? His nose scrunched slightly as he thought about the music he had listened to before, ones that had just a good melody and beat and he definitely didn’t listen to because of the lyrics since they were about... that thing.
Didn’t some people talk about their heart feeling like it was going to fall out of their chest? That they found it hard to breathe? That it was like all life stopped when they saw that person? And that despite all this, they never wanted to be without them?
Tsukishima had to get to the bottom of this. He was either experiencing some sort of allergic reaction to her or he was experiencing feelings. He thought about ignoring them, pretending like they didn’t exist so that maybe everything would go back to normal one day. But how long would that take? Wouldn’t it just be easier to rip off the bandaid and find out now?
At the end of class, Tsukishima zoomed his way out of class, not waiting for Yamaguchi like usual.
“Is he alright, Yamaguchi-san?” Y/N asked, surprised that the two best friends weren’t walking out together like they had every other day. Some days, they would even walk out with Y/N on their way to practice. But apparently, not today.
“He’s got a lot on his mind,” Yamaguchi explained, waving it away with a smile. Perhaps today he would be walking home by himself. And that was fine by him.
Y/N packed up her things and waved goodbye to her other classmates, heading out the door and slipping in her headphones. Her mind drifted to all the things she had to do when she got home, whether or not there were leftovers to heat up today or if she should cook something up.
“You take so long,” a drawl voice interrupted the very beginning of her first song. She blinked in surprise, looking to her right where Tsukishima was leaning against a tree.
Y/N pulled out one earbud, tilting her head as she watched him. It wasn’t like she hadn’t seen him do this casual, I-don’t-care-about-anything lean, with his headphones around his neck and his hands shoved in his pockets. But there was something different about him this time. Why was he avoiding her eyes? Why was he not giving her an annoyingly carefree smile? Why were his ears turning pink?
“Were you... waiting for me, Tsukishima-san?” Y/N asked slowly. He didn’t move for a moment, as if still calculating something in that big brain of his. He pushed off of the tree after sighing, walking over to her slowly.
“Obviously,” was all he said, glaring down at her as if she should’ve known this.
“You rushed out of class so quick, I thought you were already going home,” Y/N responded, still a bit confused. “Don’t you and Yamaguchi normally walk home together?”
Why did she have to question so much? Why couldn’t she just realize what he was trying to do? Tsukishima huffed and grabbed her hand, dropping a nice cool juice box in it. His eyes darted away from her next inquisitive look, but glanced back almost immediately because he wanted to see her eyes widen just a little at her favourite juice box.
“W-What is this?” Y/N asked, holding it in her hands. Part of her wanted to examine it to make sure he hadn’t somehow tricked her into holding something that wasn’t actually juice. She looked up at him suspiciously - Tsukishima knew her favourite juice?
“You didn’t have one with you today. I figured you forgot your wallet again today,” Tsukishima mumbled, shoving his hands in his jacket again.
“O-Oh. I did, thank you. Um,” Y/N hesitated. Was Tsukishima trying... to be nice? “Why... why did you buy it for me?”
“I just said why,” Tsukishima scoffed, flicking her head gently. He scolded himself internally, feeling guilty as soon as she showed the surprise on her face. She’s asking why you thought to be nice, Kei, stop being snarky, he told himself harshly. “Sorry,” he muttered quickly, feeling almost immediately bad for flicking her.
Y/N just laughed though, giggles spilling from her lips as she looked up at him, “Are you feeling okay, Tsukishima-san? You’re turning red,” she teased gently and he looked away from her quickly, hating how quickly his face heated up.
He took a breath, trying to mimic how calm he was on the court. He turned back to look at her with a cocky smile and confidence gaze, though he was sure she could tell he was nervous, “I’m fine, Y/N-san. But I need to tell you something. And I’m only going to say it once so listen up.”
Y/N watched him intently, noting the fake confidence he was trying to put on. She nodded as he looked at her for any sign to keep going.
His lips opened for a moment and Y/N could’ve sworn there was a moment of panic in his eyes when nothing came out. “I’m going to walk you home today,” Tsukishima stated finally, each word thudding into the air. He felt his confidence falter as the wrong words left his mouth, shifting his bag on his shoulder and starting to walk ahead.
Y/N’s eyebrows furrowed, feeling her confusion only rise. Did he really build up that whole thing... just to walk her home?
“Hurry up or I’ll leave you here,” Tsukishima called behind his shoulder, still walking ahead. He was internally punching himself, groaning and uttering insults at his own stupid self. Couldn’t even say it. Couldn’t just say Y/N I like you and I think I’m either allergic to you or I’m utterly in love with you but I’ve been told I suck at explaining how I feel and that I never say the right things at the right time so please just reject me so I can move away from these exhausting feelings.
“Want some?” Y/N’s gentle voice was suddenly beside him, and Tsukishima felt his stomach doing that flipping motion again. He glanced down at her and saw her holding up the juice box at him. “Seems only fair, since you bought it,” she explained, the glimmer in her eyes making him feel way too warm inside.
“Sure,” he mumbled after a moment. She smiled just a little bit wider, holding up the juice to him, expecting him to just snatch it away and drink. But no, Tsukishima being a little bitch and deciding that if he couldn’t admit anything with words, he could try with actions, leaned down slightly, and latched his lips onto the straw. His hand wrapped around hers over the juice box, holding it still as he took a sip.
Y/N felt like she was suddenly bright red, her heart possibly having exploded right then and there. His eyes looked up to meet hers as he sipped, smirking a bit as he noticed the panicked and flushed look in her eyes.
Maybe the feeling is... mutual?
“Mm,” he hummed, pulling away after keeping her gaze for a second. “I guess I can see why you like it.”
Y/N had shivers running up and down her spine, feeling like Tsukishima had looked into her very soul and knew about her year-long crush on him.
The two of them started walking a bit slower after that, and to the external eye, you’d probably just see two classmates walking home together. But look a little closer, and you’d see both of them having internal conflicts. They managed to walk through the small roads filled with shops and make it about halfway to Y/N’s house in complete silence.
“Y/N-san,” Tsukishima finally ended it, the agonizing silence, in which he had been racking his brain trying to think of how to start a conversation. He stopped in his tracks as he spoke the one word, the two of them now on a quieter dirt path. There was no one to interrupt them, no one to save Tsukishima from embarrassment, no Yamaguchi to fill the awkward silence.
“Hm?” Y/N looked back at him, noticing him just standing there. “Are you alright, Tsukishima-san?”
“There’s something I need to say,” he started, his hands in his pockets clenched into fists.
“O-Oh okay.”
“I’ve been... feeling sick around you.” Baka, he scolded himself for what felt like the millionth time. That definitely wasn’t the way he had wanted to say it. “I-I mean, not like sick sick but like allergy sick,” he tried to recover, but scoffed at himself since that wasn’t all that much better.
Y/N’s eyebrows furrowed in response, trying to think about his reactions lately. He had definitely been more flushed lately, but she always thought that was annoyance. He’d been quieter and more distant, but it was Tsukishima after all. He looked over to her desperately, hoping to see that she was understanding what he was trying to say. She wasn’t.
Tsukishima was starting to get frustrated. He knew he wasn’t the greatest at communicating but how hard was it to see how much he liked her? Yamaguchi saw it, hell, even his upperclassmen teased him about it when they first saw Tsukishima and Y/N walking out of class together one day. So why did other people who didn’t need to know it, why did they understand but she didn’t? Why was she so dense?
You’re not saying anything, his mind reminded him as he scowled to himself.
“It has to be that,” Tsukishima finally continued quietly, his eyes now staring at his feet. He was practically trying to convince himself now. It had to be that there was a health related issue with him being around her. It had to be that, because if it wasn’t, it meant that Tsukishima had to tell her how he felt. And that meant that he was probably going to end up hurt. Why a girl like Y/N hung around a guy like him anyways was beyond him.
“Why?” Y/N frowned, still terribly lost in the cosmos of this odd confession. “Why would it have to be that?”
“Because if it isn’t that, then it means that I’ve fallen completely head over heels for you.”
Tsukishima wasn’t sure how he had managed to say the words. But there it was. His fists tightened even more, his fingernails digging into his palm so hard it was starting to hurt.
His eyes closed tightly, turning his head away from her. He didn’t want to look. He didn’t want to see laughter or disgust in her eyes. Maybe he could take it back now. Maybe he could-
Tsukishima jumped at the feeling of a poke on his chest, his eyes opening in surprise when he found Y/N standing much closer than she was earlier. “Are you teasing me?” She asked defensively, squinting her eyes up at him.
“T-Teasing?” Tsukishima stammered. He watched her eyes, noting how visibly upset she looked and he could feel his frustration rising. He had finally said what he had wanted to say this whole time... and she wasn’t even reacting the way she was supposed to. How stupid did she have to be? And why did she have to look so damn cute while doing it?
“Yamaguchi-san told you, didn’t he? I knew that poophead couldn’t keep his mouth shut,” she grumbled, crossing her arms against her chest. “He swore he wouldn’t tell you, but I should’ve known. You guys are best friends and all.”
“Told me... told me what?”
“That I’ve liked you practically since we met,” Y/N huffed, putting her hands on her hips. “Listen, Tsukishima-san, if you don’t like me back, you don’t have to tease me like this. I’m perfectly fine being rejected,” she told him with a pout on her lips (she was definitely not fine being rejected, and was planning on crying at home after this). “Don’t act like you didn’t know.”
Tsukishima‘s eyes widened, staring at her like she had grown a second head. “You... You like me?” He gulped. His allergies must be getting worse, his heart was thumping so hard against his chest, he couldn’t think straight.
Y/N and him shared a confused look for a moment, neither one of them sure who was teasing whom at this point. “Didn’t... didn’t you know? That’s why you’re being nice to me?” She asked him, poking his chest again. “Why else would you be walking me home and buying me juice?”
“Why would...” Tsukishima’s lips curled into a smile and suddenly he burst out into laughter, tilting his head back in amusement.
“Why are you laughing?” Y/N whined, punching his arm lightly with a huff. “This isn’t a time to be laughing at me!”
Tsukishima straightened up with his signature cocky smile, shaking his head as he fixed his glasses on his face. Then, his hand moved to hit the top of her head.
“OW! Tsukishima-san!”
“You idiot. Why would I be standing here confessing to you if I was just going to make fun of you?” Tsukishima scoffed, smirking at her. “If I didn’t like you back and I found out you liked me, don’t you think I would’ve made it clear by now that you never stood a chance?”
Y/N thought about this for a moment, remembering that one time a girl in a different class had confessed to him after attending one of his matches.
“I think you’re incredible, Tsukishima-san! A-And I just.... well I just...”
“Are you trying to confess to me?” Tsukishima didn’t even bother looking up from his study book, finishing an equation before even glancing at her. “You should just give up now. I’m not interested.”
The girl had teared up so much, even Y/N had felt bad (even though she was secretly happy that Tsukishima hadn’t accepted the confession). Yamaguchi had yelled at Tsukishima about being gentle that day.
“Why would I be nice to someone stupid enough to think I’d like them? I didn’t give her any hints that I did, I don’t even know her,” Tsukishima grumbled.
Y/N had internalized those words, deciding she wouldn’t confess her feelings to Tsukishima ever. If she did, and Tsukishima rejected her, he probably wouldn’t want to be around her as friends ever again.
“So...” Y/N thought to herself for a moment, trying to reexamine what had happened today. “What was with the juice box then?” She asked him.
“I thought...” Tsukishima frowned a little, looking up at the sky in thought. “I thought when you confess you were supposed to... give a gift or something.”
Y/N couldn’t help but giggle at his thought process and Tsukishima glared at her slightly. “You’re laughing at me now?”
She shook her head quickly, trying to stifle her giggles, “I just... I think it’s sweet,” she beamed, holding onto her little juice box even though it was empty now.
Tsukishima watched her carefully before smiling a little, patting her head gently, “Alright then, let’s get you home. I’ll bring another juice box for you for our date.”
“D-Date?” Y/N repeated shyly, following him as he started to walk again.
“You thought I’d just confess to you and not ask you out? Idiot,” Tsukishima smirked, feeling such an intense relief on his shoulders. His heart was still beating furiously and his stomach felt like it was going to come up his throat, but... it wasn’t as frustrating of a feeling now.
After he dropped her off at her house with the promise of walking her to school tomorrow morning, Tsukishima couldn’t help but allow himself to smile widely the whole way home.
If this is what an allergy felt like, he never wanted it to stop.

Calling the Karasuno Boys an embarrassing nickname in front of their teammates
Karasuno Boys Headcanon
DIACHI SAWAMURA
You hadn’t meant to, honestly
It was late and you thought everyone had gone home by the time you and Daichi were leaving the gym
He was in charge of locking up, so when he was finished you grabbed his hand and sighed
“Pookie I can’t wait to get home and relax. Today’s been a long day~” You say, shaking your head
Daichi was going to agree, but then you both heard it and froze
A loud outburst of laughter, seemingly coming from the darkness caused you both to yelp
“Suga, Noya?” You stared at the boys in shock, your heart pounding as Suga went red from trying to hide his laughter and as Noya bent over in tears
“H-Hi guys,” Suga stuttered, looking over at a flustered Daichi with quivering lips
“What are you...what are you two still doing here?” Daichi tried for remain calm but his reddining cheeks gave him away. He prayed that they didn’t hear anything, but judging by Noya’s behavior, they did
“W-Well, we were gonna walk home with you guys since we live pretty close by but...” Noya laughed again, “It seems you two might want some alone time. Isn’t that right, Pookie?”
“Hey!” Daichi went beet red and you stared at him with wide eyes, an apologetic look on your face. “Don’t call me that- only...only Y/N can!”
“Oh yeah?” Noya took that as a challenge. Not being to hold it any longer, Suga burst out into laughter also
“I cannot...I cannot believe...!” He couldn’t even finish the sentence he was laughing so hard, and angry Daichi™️ immediately got activated
“Both of you shut up!” He yelled, fire practically blazing off of him. “Not another word or I’ll have run 100 laps!”
“Whatever you say~” Noya sang
“Pookie,” Suga finished, and then the two of them started laughing again. Daichi sighed
“I hate you,” He muttered darkly, but at this point you didn’t know if he was talking about them- or you
SUGAWARA KOUSHI
Suga was in the middle of practice and like the good partner you were, you sitting in the bleachers to cheer him
It had become a regular thing for you two after dating for almost a year and Suga loved it when you cheered him on
Typically, he always looked to you when he was having a bad day and today was that day
Suga wasn’t having a particularly good game, and his frustrations were evident on his face
Decideding to boost his morale a bit, you got up and called out, “You got this, Sugi-Bear!” for the top of your lungs when he went to serve again
You’d hoped it would boost his spirts, but all it did was cause Suga to pause, along with the rest of the boys
“Sugi...Bear?” Kageyama looked at the older boy with wide eyes, Suga horrified face matching his own
“Did Y/N just-”
“DUDE DID THEY JUST CALL YOU SUGI-BEAR? HA!” Tanaka crackled as the rest of his teammates grinned, even Coach Ukai suppressing a laugh
“No, no-!” Suga desperately tried to backtrack while you covered your mouth instantly, choking back a scream
Why did I do that? You wondered, but it was too late
Soon the whole gym was erupting in laughter, Kiyoko turning away to hide her giggles
“Dammit,” Suga put the ball down and sighed. “Daichi, can you please tell them to- Daichi?”
Suga was floored as he turned to his friend, expecting backup, only to find the captain clutching his stomach and leaning against Asahi to catch his breath
“I...Sorry Suga,” Daichi spit out in between laughs, shaking his head
“Well this is just great,” Suga groaned, burying his head in his hands. He knew now that he’d never live this down, so he figured from now on he’d practice his serves alone
KAGEYAMA TOBIO
You and Kageyama were in the middle of the courtyard eating lunch, but for some reason Kageyama didn’t look so good
“Babycakes? Do you want me to take you to the nurse?” You asked sympathetically, rubbing his back
“No, no it’s fine. Thank you though,” Kageyama nodded and leaned into your touch, relishing your cool hands
He almost looked peaceful, however it didn’t last as Hinata suddenly appeared out of nowhere, a wide grin on his face
“Did Y/N just call you...babycakes?” Hinata let a laugh, causing both you and Kageyama to stiffen. “And you didn’t...try to kill them?”
“Huh?!” Kageyama swerved around so face you thought it’d give him whiplash, glaring at Hinata with a deep blush on his face. “N-No they didn’t! That’s ridiculous! Get lost, carrot top!”
“Ha! They did! That’s why you’re blushing so hard!” Hinata howled, his outburst causing multiple people to look over at you guys
You felt a wave of embarrassment wash over you, turning down your head as you stared at Kageyama apologetically
“I’m sorry, I guess that was too loud,” You said, but he was too busy arguing with Hinata and trying to strangle him to even pay attention anymore
YAMAGUCHI TADASHI
It was late, you had just gotten back from (Y/C/N) practice and you went to the gym to find Tadashi
Usually, he’d walk you home at night and be waiting once you were finished. But today it looked like practice was running a little late for him so you knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer
“Huh? Oh it’s you,” Tsukishima didn’t mean to sound so rude, but you still flinched at his words
“Um, yeah. Is Yammie around?” You asked hesitantly, rubbing your arms. You were already thrown off a bit and didn’t really think as the nickname slipped passed your lips
“Uh...yeah he’s- wait a second. Yammie?” Your eyes widened as you realized your mistake, just as Yamaguchi came running over
“Tsukki, who is it?” He asked, before his eye settled on you and a wide smile grew on his face. “Oh hey Y/N! Practice is about to end soon, I’ll be out!”
“O-Okay,” You stuttered, avoiding eye contact with Tsukki as you stepped inside of the gym
“What’s wrong?” Yamaguchi frowned, noticing your embarrassed demeanor
“Well, don’t take this wrong way but-”
“Do you really let them call you Yammie?” Tsukishima interrupted you, causing both of you to freeze
Unfortunately, he had said it loud enough to attract the attention of everyone else and all eyes were on you guys, Tadashi becoming a stuttering and blushing mess
“What?! W-Where did you hear that? They don’t call me Yammie! That’s ridiculous, Tsukki!”
You both were horrified as laughter began to erupt throughout the gym, his teammates obviously getting a kick out of the nickname
“I’m sorry,” You turned to Yamaguchi the same time as Tsukishima did
“I didn’t mean to say it that loud,” Tsukishima said, tossing a glare towards Hinata as he laughed the loudest
“I-It’s alright. Hopefully they’ll forget about it tomorrow,” Tadashi stuttered, but spoiler alert: they didn’t
TANAKA RYUNOSUKE
You smiled as you heard the doorbell ring, indicating that your boyfriend was finally here to pick you up
Smoothing out your uniform, you took one last look in the mirror before running to the door and tearing it open
Lovebug! You’re here early!” You exclaim, but you weren’t really complaining as you threw yourself into his arms and smiled at him
“U-Uh, yeah, yeah we are. I stopped by to walk with Noya,” He explained, embarrassment growing on his face
By the time you pulled away, the name had already registered in Noya’s mind and he burst out laughing, much to Tanaka’s annoyance
“Lovebug? You told me Y/N didn’t have any nicknames for you!” He howled, whilst holding his stomach. “Man, this is gold. Mind if I call him that too, Y/N?”
“I...” You didn’t really know what to say, but you did feel bad for Tanaka a little
“Shut up!” He growled, grabbing his friend by the collar and shaking him. “That nicknames cute, alright?! And I love it when Y/N calls me that so shut up dammit!”
“Okayy~” You had a feeling this would not be the last of hearing about this. And what do you know- all the boys seemed to be holding in laughter later that day when you entered the gym
“So, Lovebug huh?” Asahi grinned at you
“Shut up!”
ASAHI AZUMANE
The celebratory dinner was going great- all the boys seemed to be really enjoying themselves but you noticed that Asahi was going a little fast
“Bubbie? Slow down a little- you’re gonna choke,” You giggle a little, shaking your head at him
“Oh, yeah, right,” Asahi lowered his bowl and chuckled, but he wasn’t the one that ended up choking
Daichi, who was sitting right next to you guys, started choking on his barbecue
“Cap?” Asahi patted his back a little to help him out, “You alright?”
“Bubbie?” Daichi managed to speak through his coughing, causing the tips of Asahi’s ears to go completely red
“Uh...I...I can explain!” Asahi stuttered out, staring at him with wide eyes
“Explain what?” Suga poked his head in and looked back and forth between them
“N-Nothing!” All three of you squeaked out, turning your backs to him and resuming on your food. Daichi and Asahi were bright red, meanwhile you were pretending you were just grateful Daichi didn’t blab
“Well okay...” You could tell Suga was suspicious but slowly he let it go. Daichi however, grew a wide smile on his face as everything began to sink in
“That’s quite a nickname you got going for yourself,” He commented, just when you thought it had died down
“Yeah, well,” Asahi scratched the back of his face. You felt so bad- he looked like a tomato! “I’d appreciate it if we kept this between us, yeah?”
“Yeah, you got it,” Daichi grinned and nodded, causing Asahi to breathe a sigh of relief, “Bubbie.”
HINATA SHOYO
Hinata had a match and unfortunately you couldn’t make it, so he opted to FaceTime you instead right before the game was starting
“Good luck Cutiepie! I know you’ll do great!” You shouted through the screen, smiling brightly
Hinata beamed and nodded his head quickly, forgetting that he had you in speakerphone
“Thanks, babe!” He shouted, just as Kageyama walked by, his jaw dropped to the floor
“Cutepie?” He said in disbelief, and Hinata whipped around so quickly the screen became blurry for a moment
“Crap!” Panic bubbled up inside of the orange-haired boy as a sly smirk grew on Kageyama’s face. “That wasn’t for you to hear!”
“Obviously not, Cutiepie,” Kageyama grinned, barking out a laugh that caused the others to stare in disbelief
“Is he...” Tsukishima started
“...Laughing?” Noya finished, tilting his head a little
All the boys were scared, and slightly alarmed when Kageyama doubled over as Hinata yelled at him
“Shut up! It’s not funny!” Your boyfriend yelled, shaking his hands
“What’s going on here?” Coach Uaki raised an eyebrow
“He-”
“Shut up Kageyama!”
“Y/N calls Hinata their Cutiepie!” Tobio yelled out, causing Coach Uaki to sputter back a laugh
“They what now?” All the other boys turned their backs so angry Hinata couldn’t see them absolutely losing it
“You butt-wipe! You weren’t supposed to tell anybody!” Hinata yelled while you tried to surpress your giggles
“Shoyo baby It’s okay, that just means you gotta kick their asses 10x harder,” You reminded him, trying to cheer him up
But the damage was already done
Nobody was ever gonna let that go, especially not Kageyama. And even though you weren’t there for the match, Hinata told you later on how even the other team started teasing him for it
But at least they won, though
NISHINOYA YU
It wasn’t even you that outed him, it was Kiyoko lmao
She was picking up some stuff around the gym and there just so happened to be a volleyball underneath the bench he was sitting on, so she asked him to hand it to her politely
“Nishi-boo, can you please hands me that?” The minute she said it, it was like the entire gym just froze
The sound of arguing and volleyballs thumping around decreased, and suddenly all eyes were on Noya and Kiyoko as they both stuttered out excuses, clearly embarrassed
“I-I mean, Nishinoya, I didn’t-”
“She doesn’t- she didn’t mean-”
Tanaka was looking at his friend with eyes so big you’d think they were saucers. Exclaiming loudly, he yelled, “WHAT DID SHE JUST CALL YOU?”
“Nishi-boo?” Asahi frowned. “I thought only Y/N called you that.”
“YOU KNEW?!” Both Noya and Tanaka exclaimed, causing Asahi to flinch
“I am so sorry,” Kiyoko tried desperately to apologize to a dumbstruck Nishinoya, “I-It’s just- that’s the last thing I heard Y/N call you before practice today and it just slipped out. I’m really sorry!”
“N-No need,” Noya stuttered, his cheeks a dangerous shade of red, “I-It was an accident, right?”
“YOU THREE HAVE SOME EXPLAINING TO DO!” Tanaka pointed at Kiyoko, Noya and Asahi
“IM NOT EXPLAINING ANYTHING SO JUST FORGET ABOUT IT OKAY?” Noya yelled back, but it was too late
The age of him being addressed Nishi-boo had already started. And the one leading the charge?
Why that was Tanaka of course!
TSUKISHIMA KEI
It wasn’t like you meant to expose him
But when Tsukki snuck up on you one day right after he had just finished practicing, you couldn’t but exclaim, “Tsukki-Bear? What are you doing?!”
Cue you spinning around to see practically the entire Karasuno team standing there, frozen in time
“Did I...hear that correctly?” Hinata stuttered, jaw dropped
“Did they just call you...?” Kageyama asked, wide-eyed
“TSUKKI-BEAR?!” They yelled at the same time, bursting out into laughter as Tsukishima scowled
“Y/N...” He turned to you and sighed as they crackled up behind him, the older boys trying to hide their laughter
Ennoshita was the first to crack, Suga following behind as they leaned on each other for support
Even Daichi and Asahi were stunned, but at least they tried to help
“H-Hey that’s not nice to make fun of him,” Asahi stuttered, but it was blocked out by Hinata’s laughter
“I cannot believe...one of the meanest and tallest people I know is called Tsukki-Bear,” He gasped out
“Ugh. Shut up!” Tsukishima rolled his eyes, rubbing at his temples. “So what if I’m called that? It’s just a freaking nickname! You guys are immature!”
“You tell them Tsukki-Bear!” Yamaguchi yelled out, only to realize his mistake a second later, “I-I mean...”
This caused a whole new round of laughter to ring out and Tsukishima grabbed your hand roughly
“Come on. Let’s go,” He growled, dragging you off
“Tsukki! Y/N! Wait up!” Yamaguchi quickly followed
It was safe to say that Tsukki didn’t talk to the team for three days after that, but hey- At least they had something to hold over him now

secret relationship; tsukishima kei, tanaka ryūnosuke, yamamoto taketora
requested by anon(s); their respective teams finding out about their relationships
pairings; tsukishima kei x reader, tanaka ryūnosuke x fem!reader, yamamoto taketora x fem karasuno manager!reader
genre; fluff
warnings; none! (maybe a few curse words)
note; i’m so sorry tsukki’s so much longer than the other two oh my
tsukishima kei
━━ in your defense, neither of you had heard the blaring alarm, and supposedly, no one else in his home had either. after having unintentionally lost track of time with your boyfriend the night prior that it had gotten a little too late for you to head home safely, you’d agreed to kei’s suggestion to spend the night, and fell asleep in his arms. that wasn’t entirely out of the ordinary. you couldn’t count on ten fingers the nights you’d spent at his home, waking up with your limbs tangled with his, despite the fact that he insisted cuddling was his least favorite thing to do. missing the alarm is what’s unusual. kei’s not the heaviest of sleepers, evident in the way he nearly tramples you every night, suffocating you to him and restricting your movements. the fact that he hadn’t heard it, and had left to ring annoyingly loud until it gave up was confusing enough.
this wouldn’t pose as much of an issue if it weren’t for your situation. on the contrary, really; you loved nothing more than waking up at the hour you desire, kei still sound asleep by you. he always looked a lot calmer, a lot less tense, his mind a little quieter. his arms were caging you in, giving you enough freedom to tilt your head back and admire him, as his chest rose and fell gently, as his eyes fluttered lightly with the remnants of a dream. in the quiet of his room, you wondered what those golden irises could see.
but of course, a sleepy, fuzzy, lovesick brain wasn’t a luxury for long, and the blurriness began to slip away, just as reality began catching up. your mind began to process the time that the clock that hung opposite you read (too late in the afternoon), then the day of the week (sunday, practice day), then, the cherry on top of the cake — the sound of heavy footsteps, too many footsteps, loud, familiar voices. and finally, the fact that you weren’t supposed to be where you were: in kei’s bed.
you’d encountered his — friends on countless occasions, just never as his significant other. at first, it had left you slightly insecure, wondering if kei was somehow ashamed of you, embarrassed to be tied to you. eventually, however, you’d figured that it hadn’t been shame or embarrassment. he’s just a private person, and if anything, it’s possessiveness: the desire to keep you and all that you are to himself. not that he’d ever have to share once you were exclusive to his teammates, but it’s more that he also wants the idea and thought of you secret. he wants to luxury of calling you his to be private, just something he can enjoy. and maybe you liked the thrill of it too, seeing as you’d agreed, for the time being. you liked the rushed kisses in fear of getting caught, and the secret glances he’d offer you during school hours, and the way he held your hand beneath the table for no one but you to know about. you liked it, and you respected his wishes.
when the footsteps drew closer, you realized just how screwed you are, and it would mean a lot worse for you to be caught slipping away through the window than to be caught in bed, so you lean up, hugging yourself tighter to him, and bring your lips by kei’s ear. shaking him slightly, you whisper, “baby, wake up. the boys are here.”
kei rustles around, blinking slightly, before huffing and wrapping his arms tighter around you, burying his face in the crook of your neck, mumbling incoherently.
you stifle a laugh at his clingy reaction, wishing that this was somehow being recorded. with laughter behind your tone, you repeat your words, shaking him harsher. “kei,” you drawl, whining. “kei, we’re gonna get caught.”
he only mumbles again, breath hot on your neck.
“tsukki! tsukki!”
shit, nishinoya and tanaka were also here?
“kei, baby, you are going to be mortified when you wake up,” you warn, but nonetheless, you continue to hold him to you, bringing a hand up to his hair and sighing. “don’t kick me for trying to warn you.”
the door bursts open, followed by tanaka’s sing-song voice calling out for your boyfriend. he leads the way into the bedroom, head high and eyes closed, as him and three of kei’s teammates march in. he’s oblivious to your head peeking out beneath the crook of kei’s neck, until his eyes open, his hands faltering on his hips as he finally registers your face.
you grin up at him, fingers waving at him in greeting. “hey,” you call out cheekily.
tanaka freezes, head cocking to the side as he’s pushed away while the other three file in. as soon as nishinoya notices you, he clamps his hand over his mouth, his mouth wide with laughter and eyes lost in shock. yamaguchi’s face is tinted red, glance frozen at you, while sugawara, ever the sadist, laughs freely and loudly.
“so this is why he’s late?” tanaka yells in a hushed tone.
sugawara, still laughing, grabs his phone from his jacket’s pocket, switching to the camera app quickly and lifting it up to snap a photo. you throw up a peace sign.
“tsukki, you ass!” nishinoya shouts, leaping quickly onto the bed, forcing you and kei to shift suddenly. “get up, get up, get the fuck up!”
the boy in your arms groans, his eyes still shut tightly as he finally loosens his hold on you, rolling onto his back. a hand is lifted up to his face as he rubs away the sleep in his eyes, while nishinoya positions himself to stand directly above him, feet on either side of his hips as he leans down, peering straight at his face.
kei’s eyes finally open, hand falling to his side in search of yours as it always does, before he looks up, and spots nishinoya sporting the cheekiest of expressions. he sighs in preparation of the teasing to come, and exhales sharply.
“shit.”
sugawara is yet to stop laughing.
tanaka ryūnosuke
━━ “ryu, you’re late to practice.”
the boy in question shushes you quietly, hugging you tighter to him as he whispers out, “five more minutes,” lips brushing against the nape of your neck, down to your shoulder blades. your back is pressed to his bare chest, his arm wrapped tightly around your waist. you rest a hand on that arm, stroking it gently as you try to wake him up.
with how the boys had been progressing with volleyball, practice hours had increased, and therefore quality time with ryu had decreased. there was a little voice in the back of your head egging him on, urging you to cuddle back into him and let him nuzzle into you more, the part of you that missed him, missed all of him. there was a more logical side of you that knew better, that acknowledged all the work and effort he’d put to get where he is today, and that didn’t want him to miss out any opportunity to grow, or to put all that effort to waste. so you sigh, gripping at his forearm tightly as you try to get away.
“come on, babe,” you whine, attempting desperately to try and get away from him.
“woah, ryu, you got a girl with you or something?”
you freeze. ryu freezes. the world stops.
that had definitely been nishinoya’s voice, there was no doubt about that. and it isn’t like the both of you had kept your relationship a secret from your mutual friends deliberately. it had just never came up in conversation. maybe they were just blind, honestly. there had been no hiding it: you held hands, you hugged him tight after every win, he walked you home after evening practice after school, you hung out during school all the time. so really, it isn’t your fault that no one put two and two together.
you’d just hoped it wouldn’t be in such a comprising situation. you don’t even have pants on.
“holy shit, you do— what the fuck!” your boyfriend’s teammates scream is piercing, and eardrum shattering. you wince at the sound, fingers tightening around ryu’s arm. once nishinoya processes what he’s seen, and who he’s seen, he storms outside of the bedroom, leaving the door ajar behind him, allowing you to listen in on his yells.
somehow, ryu’s still sleeping.
“you guys are not going to believe what i just saw,” you hear nishinoya calling out and — holy shit, was the whole team here? was he really that late to practice?
you manage to break free of ryu’s unrelenting grasp just as the footsteps group by your boyfriend’s bedroom door. they all walk in as you try and fix your bed hair, smiling weakly as one by one, they fill up the room. raising a hand, you sheepishly smile and wave, calling out a low, “morning everyone.”
looking to your left, you find ryu still sleeping. with the way hinata’s bouncing over to where the two of you lay, you doubt it’ll be for long. secret was meant to be outed at some point, wasn’t it?
yamamoto taketora
━━ as you and your team finally arrive at your destination, nekoma high, the bus comes to a stop, parking off to the side. immediately, the boys are jumping from their seats, eager to stretch their limbs and greet their long distance friends. you, kiyoko and yachi take your time in comparison to them, gathering all your things, stretching yourselves out. yachi and kiyoko are first to leave between the three of you, working on keeping your teammates in check and making sure none drift off, while you stay behind, checking in on the bus to make sure nobody left anything behind (which you’re glad you always do, because both hinata and kageyama had forgotten their phones). stepping off the bus, you raise your arms up in a stretch, bones cracking satisfyingly. you squint up at the sun as you sigh, hand coming up to shield yourself from it.
“shōyō, kags!” you call out, walking up to the group of boys huddled around each other, both nekoma and karasuno. “forget anything?” you place their phones in either hand, giving them playfully disapproving looks as they shamefully take it from you, red dusting their cheeks and a low sorry spilling from their lips. your expression twists into a cheerful one, and you wave them off.
as the herd of people begins to move, you plan on following, until you hear your name yelled out loudly, in a very distinct, familiar voice. excitement overtaking you, you turn the other way, dropping your bag to the ground and jumping into the awaiting of your arms of your long distance boyfriend.
“tora baby, i missed you!” you squeal, arms wrapping tight around his neck and legs around his waist, ankles hooked as he rocks you from side to side. he hugs you with just as much earnest, burying his face in your neck gratefully.
he hums by your ear, pressing a wet kiss to your neck as he says, “missed you more. more than you could ever imagine.”
you chuckle lightly to yourself, lifting your head up and leaning back to glance at him. “sap,” you tease, tilting your head closer.
“hey, you were the one that jumped into my arms,” he argues.
you quirk an eyebrow. “you were the one that yelled out my name and ran at me,” you retort. “like we’re in some sort of rom-com.” you’re rolling your eyes, but your heart’s beating unsteadily at the way he presses a chaste kiss to your lips. unwilling to continue your banter, having missed him, and missed kissing him too much to do so, you lift a hand to the nape of his neck and push his lips closer to yours, finally kissing him properly.
you’re not able to enjoy it for long, feeling a hand grab at the collar of your jacket on the back of your neck. it pulls at you until you break from the kiss, until you’re forced out of your boyfriend’s arms, and stumbling onto the ground back on your feet.
“have some decorum, manager,” daichi teases, and you roll your eyes, reaching out again for taketora.
he takes you into his arms easily, letting you rest your head on his chest, and wrapping your arms around his waist. “he’s just jealous that we’re in love,” he jokes, and you huff out a laugh, allowing him to steer you away from the small crowd, and towards the gym, leaving your boys and his teammates behind.
“am i the only one that’s like, shocked?” ennoshita breaks the silence.
“really? i’m more heartbroken,” nishinoya joins in, earning a smack from daichi.
tanaka breathes in steadily. “kiyoko-san, please don’t be next,” he pleads.
“tanaka-san, please stop being dramatic.”

Café Tsukishima
a/n: omg i'm sorry this took so long, but I'm so happy i got to be a part of this exchange. this is for @tsukkismoonlight, i'm your secret santa! i hope you like it.
also thank you @momochimo for hosting this event. i liked expanding my comfort zone
warnings: two curse words, indigestion mentions, mentions of food technically
word count: 3.2k
reader's pronouns are not specified
you miss the days when you could take a second to admire the snow piling outside; watch it glisten in the sun and relax, nothing on your mind but the cup of coffee in your hand and the next tv show on your watchlist.
these days, however, you look at the snow piling on the streets with a scowl, refreshing your work groupchats to see if either of your jobs will have mercy on your withering strength this snowy morning.
your roommate, bless his soul, seems to reappear over your shoulder every few minutes, patiently waiting with you.
working two jobs was no easy feat, he knew, and he wanted nothing more than to see you relax for one day out of the year.
“‘Dashi, you’re making me more stressed breathing on my neck like that.”
with a light chuckle, Yamaguchi steps back, making his way to the kitchen to prepare you a cup of coffee he knows you’ll need.
“I don’t mean to burst your bubble, but it’s looking like you’re working a doub-”
“nope! no! don’t bring your negativity into this home,” you cut him off abruptly, “I refuse to leave. I can’t even see the road outside! how would I drive on it?”
As you groan into your hands, Yamaguchi chuckles at your theatrics. He’s offered many times to drive you to work, or even cover rent for the both of you, but you always respond with a grumble along the lines of,
“too nice for your own good ‘Dashi...” and “’m an adult! I can do adult things!”
so, while he hates seeing you throw your sanity on the line with your two jobs, he’s decided there’s nothing he can really do to stop you.
he hands you your coffee and silently watches you lose your mind hoping for a day off.
and a few minutes later, by some astounding miracle, two pings sound from your phone, and you and Yamaguchi both rush to see the long-awaited messages from both of your employers.
“you should come with me to the Frogs game tonight, you could finally meet Tsukki!” Yamaguchi exclaimed after a short celebration of your newfound freedom.
at the mention of his best friend’s name, you winced. you never told him that you have met the infamous Tsukishima, and since said meeting, you’ve been actively avoiding the middle blocker.
it wasn’t his fault Yamaguchi left him in your apartment without your knowledge, and it certainly wasn’t his fault that he overheard you asking your roommate to purchase indigestion medication for you. however, him laughing in your face after the call was 100% his fault.
it was embarrassing enough to run into him in your living room that afternoon, so to “officially” meet him was asking a lot of yourself. but out of love for Yamaguchi, and a lack of excuses, you reluctantly agreed.
after a quick exchange of game details and goodbyes, he left your shared apartment in a rush to get to campus, leaving you to your own devices for a few hours.
to say the Sendai Frogs were amazing was an understatement.
while Yamaguchi was incessantly cheering his friends on, you sat in awe as you watched the volleyball fly faster than your eyes could track. you were even more shocked by how pliant Tsukishima made his body as he continued to block and defend for his team.
you were certainly not a professional in the sport, but you knew enough to understand how strong this team was.
after nearly losing your voice from cheering at the Frogs’ win, Yamaguchi drags you out of the bleachers and onto the court. he hugs a few members, as well as Tsukishima (who gives him a heartfelt pat on the back), before pushing you in front of him.
“everyone, this is y/n!”
you wave a bit stiffly towards the team before Koganegawa reaches out to excitedly shake your hand.
“we’ve heard a lot about you!”
“a bit too much, really” Tsukishima counters. Your face heats up under his scrutinizing glare.
“well Tadashi does get a little loose-lipped when he’s stressed, and i'm sure i’ve stressed him out more than enough.”
you don’t miss the small chuckle that manages to escape Tsukishima’s lips. Yamaguchi doesn’t miss the slight boost in your mood after it.
after letting them change and shower in the locker room, Koganegawa invites you to their team dinner, to which you impulsively agree to attend.
their dynamic was...strange to say the least. Koganegawa cracking jokes with other players, repeatedly nudging Kyoutani, who released a grunt every once in a while, but otherwise seemed detached for the night. Tsukishima also seemed quiet, although you always pegged him as someone who doesn’t thrive in groups, only responding to Yamaguchi’s consistent praise and excitement with variations of “calm down”.
you focused on your food while occasionally cracking jokes that made the team laugh, embracing the environment. you enjoyed their company more than you expected to. as you and Yamaguchi started heading back to your apartment, you told the team you would definitely attend their next few games, and said your goodbyes.
maybe your one day of freedom made you forget that your life doesn’t allow free time, much less time to go see every Sendai Frogs game (and they certainly had a lot). Regrettably, you had turned down Yamaguchi’s offers to join him every week, and that dinner was the last time you had seen anyone on the team.
it’s not your fault you’re busy, but you can’t help the guilt as you see your roommate head out to watch another game.
the next morning you found yourself waking up much earlier than usual, giving you some time before you had to tend to your responsibilities. deciding to stretch your legs and admire the colder weather for the first time this year, you go for a short walk to the café close to your apartment complex.
the warmth of the café washed over your goosebumps as you step into the shop. there was nothing like the ambience of coffee on a cold winter morning; the warmth of a cup in the grasp of your slightly shaking hands; the familiar head of blonde hair turning in your direction.
the brown eyes of Tsukishima Kei staring at you from his own table.
your feet were rooted to their spot, fight-or-flight response completely overridden by the awkwardness consuming your body. do you say hi? should you pretend you never saw him and just order something to go?
choosing to be mature, you decide to order a drink and exchange niceties with the man before scurrying back to your apartment to mull over your conversational skills.
taking a deep breath, you approach his table with your drink in hand.
“you’re Tadashi’s roommate.” you wish it were the frost outside reigniting your goosebumps rather than the chill in his voice.
“Tadashi’s friend,” you correct, “but yes, nice to see you again Tsukishima.”
he resumes reading whatever was holding his interest before you approached him. after a beat of silence and you fiddling with your drink, you make your way to leave when he clears his throat,
“are you just going to stand there?”
a bit startled by his invitation (?) to sit with him, you reluctantly place your drink on his table before pulling a chair across from him. his eyes stay rooted to the content on his laptop that has garnered his attention, as you fiddle with the coffee sleeve on your cup.
“did I-we scare you away or something?” he suddenly speaks up.
when you go to look at him, his eyes are still latched to his screen, although you can see through his glasses that he’s not looking at anything in particular. he’s just looking to avoid your eye contact.
“...scare me?” you question, confused. how would they scare you?
“it’s been seven games.” is all he says in response. you stare at him, trying to meet his eyes as they persistently avoid your gaze. what the hell was he on about? this was your longest conversation with the man and yet it was the most cryptic. why was he speaking in code?
when he finally locked eyes with you, he noticed your confusion. with a slightly agitated sigh he pulled out his phone, tapping around before he eventually passed it to you. even more confused, you took his phone into your hands, a bit shocked to see an empty contact form waiting to be filled in. you looked at him for confirmation, only to see his gaze had turned back to his laptop, and his ears sported a light pink tint.
still startled, you quickly put in your number, and put your contact name under Tadashi’s friend before handing his phone back to him.
he holds a subtle smile at your contact, before his alarm rings and shakes him out of his mild stupor.
“practice.” he barely explains before packing up his things and leaving you with a bow. you’re left at his table questioning the reality of the past fifteen minutes. a few minutes after his departure, your phone dings, telling you you’ve received a message. an unknown number, who you assume is Tsukishima, has sent you a schedule of the Sendai Frogs games for the rest of the season.
oh you think, he wanted me to come.
after your odd run-in with Tsukishima, Yamaguchi started pushing you a little more to attend the games, and you found yourself going out of your way to make time to go. it was always an experience seeing the force of Kyoutani’s hits, and the speed and agility of Tsukishima’s blocks.
it was nice, embracing the cheers of the team when they saw you for the first time since the past game from months ago. you were warming up to them, and it was always comforting making new friends.
but of course, life happened.
when the holidays rolled around, however, you felt yourself slipping into a pit. this year, you had no friends to hang out with, and no job to distract you. Yamaguchi made numerous attempts to get you out of your room before leaving to see family, but was painfully unsuccessful.
this holiday season, you had no one.
except for Tsukishima Kei apparently, who was standing outside your apartment door according to his recent text message to you. after attending a few more of the Frogs games, you and Tsukishima had grown a little closer than before, but you wouldn’t necessarily call him a friend.
you groaned as another message notification rang through your empty apartment.
Tsukishima: wake up
Tsukishima: I'm outside
Tsukishima: I know you’re seeing these
you wait a few minutes, hoping he’ll take the hint and just leave you in your pool of self-pity, but history has proved that Tsukishima doesn’t understand cues of when to leave. you hear a resounding knock on your door, and decide to just let him in for whatever he needs.
when you open your door, the sight of Tsukishima shakes you a little bit. his hair is covered by an adorable frog beanie, and a pink tint covers his nose and cheeks beautifully. his hands are shoved into the pockets of his coat, and on his arm lays another jacket, which he shoves into your arms after giving you a quick once-over.
before you can ask him what he’s doing here, or make yourself look more presentable, he gently wraps an arm around your wrist, dragging you across the street before stopping in front of your neighborhood café.
he shoots you a quick look, trying to read your silent consent before he walks in with you in tow. as if on cue, the barista calls his name and places two drinks out on the serving table. it isn’t until he reaches for the drinks that you realize he was still holding your wrist.
as you sit across from him at one of the café's tables, he passes you your cup. you suspiciously take a sip, until you find your eyebrows shooting up at the taste of your favorite drink.
“did Yamaguchi send you a y/n to-do list or something?” you lightly joked. he took a sip of his drink before meeting your eyes.
“is it so hard to believe that I know things about you by now?”
not knowing what to say, you decided to just focus on the drink in your hand. the silence soon shifted from peaceful to awkward, neither of you really knowing what to say, and you not really understanding why you’re sitting in the middle of a café across from him right now.
when you look at him, he looks away from you, and when he looks at you, it’s when you’ve looked away. you sigh to yourself, not understanding this random game of cat and mouse.
“how’s your indigestion?” he questions, breaking the silence in the worst possible way.
your head shoots up at this. his expression seems entirely serious. you tilt your head in confusion.
“are you poking fun at me?”
“no, I'm genuinely curious” he sighed.
“you sound sarcastic.” you muttered, reaching for your drink once again.
he takes off his glasses, rubbing the bridge of his nose in slight frustration. you questioned if there was something irritating about your presence, but kept it to yourself. another beat of silence passed before Tsukishima attempted to continue the conversation.
“I wasn’t being sarcastic. it was just an innocent question.”
“then why’d you laugh at me?”
the confused expression on his face makes you want to slap him, but it also makes you want to reach across the table and smooth out his eyebrows.
“because it was funny at the time, so let’s just move on.”
caught off-guard by his abruptness, you decide to drop the topic. this time, it doesn’t take much energy to continue conversing with him. you both talk about your hobbies and classes, and he tells you about his family. it was more comfortable than you had expected, and you certainly never thought you would be calling Tsukishima Kei a friend by nighttime.
over the span of holiday break, Tsukishima has knocked on your door every day and dragged you to the neighborhood café. it became a sort-of unspoken daily ritual, and neither of you seemed to be complaining. you thought you’d grow sick of the taste of coffee, but something about Tsukishima’s presence always made it tastier. the more you saw of him, the more you grew to appreciate the little things about him, like his attention to detail, or his tendency to wipe the right lens of his glasses before the left lens. it was clear to you that you had started to harbor some feelings for the middle blocker, and you had no idea what to do with them.
while your relationship friendship with him was growing, Tsukishima was slowly becoming more comfortable with you too. he liked the way you still tried to talk to him, to get to know him, even when he says asshole-ish things. he admired the shine in your eyes whenever you opened the door to see him, the jacket he lent you already draped over your body.
the dragging you by your wrist soon became pulling you along gently, which soon became walking side-by-side, which developed into brushing your fingers against each other’s, before you both evolved into holding hands.
“I lied to you a few weeks ago,” he says over his cup of tea as he retracts his hand from yours. he figured it would be better to try a less-caffeinated drink, and less physical contact with you to remain composed for the things he means to say today.
“I laughed at you because I was nervous. Yamaguchi spent months telling me I had to meet his attractive roommate who was ‘just my type’, and the first time he left me alone in your apartment, I had to run into you. I laughed because he was right, and it made me nervous. I didn’t give a fuck about your indigestion. who cares? and I guess I lied because I don’t know how to talk to you, everything I say comes out wrong, and it’s frustrating because I don’t want to seem like an asshole but I just do.”
he panted quietly after finishing his rambling. if the confession wasn’t such a serious topic, you would’ve dropped your jaw the way you so desperately wanted to. he found you...attractive. while your feelings for him were still fresh and developing, you knew that this was an opportunity you couldn’t miss to get closer to him.
you’re unsuccessful in hiding your smile, opting to make light of the situation instead.
“maybe if you buy me enough coffee, I’ll kiss you.” you tease. you don’t miss the way his face flares up, and his grip on his tea tightens slightly. oh?
eager to change the topic, he starts talking about a new book he started reading. you tune out more than once, more focused on analyzing his confession and admiring his features than listening about fossils.
Tsukki: open your door
the text tone from your phone wakes you up from your slumber, squinting your eyes to see a message from your crush close friend.
Y/N: you have a spare key Tsukki just open the door? you woke me up btw </3
Tsukki: that ruins the flair of it all
refusing to argue with him, you push yourself out of bed with a groan, and sleepily stumble to unlock your door, where you see Tsukishima holding two very large cups of coffee. he gives you a gentle smile before kicking off his shoes and setting himself onto your couch.
“is this enough?” he questions.
“enough for what? heart palpitations?” you joke.
“enough for a kiss.”
if someone had told you in the beginning of winter that by the end of December you would be cuddled up to Tsukishima Kei, sharing a kiss with him on your old couch, you’d laugh in their face and ask them what fanfiction they read. but as you lay in his arms for the first time, you realize that, despite the journey to get here, you were exactly where you were supposed to be. he was an unexpected force in your life, and he helped you through one of your weakest times. maybe it was too early to tell, but you felt cared for, and you cared for him more than you realized.
in Tsukishima’s arms, you found yourself admiring the snow outside once again, nothing on your mind but the cup of coffee in your hand, the next tv show on your watchlist, and your significant other’s warm embrace.
if someone told you that a year from now, you and Tsukishima would be cuddled up in the early morning, sharing coffee and kisses in your own shared apartment; that he would still know your favorite coffee order, and he’d be telling you how in love with you he is, you would dreamily smile, and tell them,
“I hope so.”

OKAY, I cant get this out of my head. It's usually tsukishima that always has the upper hand against yamaguchi right???? BUT, it comes to Yamas attention that tsukishima is a virgin and yamaguchi takes so much pity on poor tsuki that he offers to help him out. So yama came to you, his cute little girlfriend with this amazing opportunity to help out his best friend. And ofc you say yes..why would his cute little baby say no?
I love you, drink water and eat something you haven't already😤🥰‼️
finally writing again. shocker, i know. also thank you nonster ilysm <3
cw: dom!yams (kinda), mentions of yama x tsukki, reader is cute idk i like her, virgin!tsukki, tsukki being mean in his head, yamaguchi also just a tad bit mean, idk what else?, just a handjob (for now), prob errors
word count: 1054
summary: yamaguchi being the sweetheart he is and sharing his precious girlfriend with his best friend <3
the sight of the two of you always made tsukki feel sick to his stomach. watching his best friend be all lovey dovey with someone who’s so disgustingly sweet as well? it was no wonder he avoided you two at all costs.
he avoided making eye contact with you two even throughout high school. at games, in the hallways, during lunch. but he especially avoided it right now. he was afraid to peer up through the foggy lens of his glasses, because he knew the moment that he did-
he’d be forced to meet you guys’ gazes. those precious smiles still beaming down at him even with the undeniable hunger behind both of your eyes.
tsukishima scowled, turning his head as if he’d found something more interesting to stare at on the ground. when tadashi initially made the offer to him, he simply shrugged it off as bluff. especially since he figured there was no way you’d agree. but...
“come on, tsukki.” the blond flinched when your fingers just barely skimmed the skin of his arm almost as if you were afraid to break him. the harmless action still somehow managed to offend him. were you mocking him? did the two of you think you were better because you just so happened to have sex before he did? he could have sex if you wanted. he didn’t need your help. he didn’t need either of you.
yet, even as those thoughts echoed in his head, he simply couldn’t deny the fact that for whatever reasoning, he still showed up at your doorstep and faced you two with shuffling feet and fading pride.
he tsked once - twice- before he finally grew some balls and turned to look the two of you in the eye. and god did he regret it, because he was immediately greeted by the sight of the two of you pawing at him to rid him of his baggy clothes. the pairs of hands gripping and grabbing at each inch of visible skin had tsukishima’s face flushed an embarrassing shade of pink, adam’s apple bobbing in his throat until finally you two had stopped acting like fumbling teens and stripped him down to his boxers, erection pressing humiliatingly hard against the dampened fabric. it was amusing to him, how even as the two of you managed to lead him into the intimacy of your bedroom, he still held a higher sense of maturity and composure over you both.
at least, that’s how he viewed it in his mind. even a passing glance at him would reveal just how nervous he was. quite literally shaking where he lay.
“remember to be gentle, okay?” tsukishima scoffed at this. “relax tadashi. i am not going to hur-“ “i wasn’t talking about you.” yamaguchi cut him off with a piercing look that sent shivers throughout tsukki’s entire body like never before. since when did the freckled man have the ability to hinder him speechless so quickly? before he could even bother to crack out a weak comeback,
“oh shit—“ he hissed through his teeth when your small hand wrapped itself around his sensitive cock, successfully distracting him. his chest rose and fell heavily as his pretty eyelashes fluttered shut. “wow. you were right tadashi. i barely touched him and he’s already about to blow his load” you shook your head in genuine astonishment.
“has anyone else ever touched you here, tsukishima?”
even despite your sweet tone,, he wanted to bark at you. grab you by your hair and tug with all of his strength. shove you into the mattress and grunt in your ear that he wasn’t going to sit there and take shit from a slutty fucking brat like you. but how could he? how could he possibly let any words out before they melted away from him just as quickly as they’d formed in his mind? how could he think, when your thumb pressed itself against his tip, now red and swollen with reluctant want, and messily spread his precum across his cock. it was sloppy. it was dirty. your slender fingers tugged at his cock with a wet shlick that made his entire body tense with disgust and guilt from just how much he was enjoying your hand on him. he had to bite down on his lip to avoid making any noise. a weak attempt on his behalf to cling on to any pride he had left.
“-he’s long, too.”
the sound of your voice was enough to drag him out of his mind again. how long had you been talking? or were you too busy watching in shocked silence as he quits literally fell apart in your small grasp? were you and tadashi simply talking around him the entire time? he figured so, judging by the way both of you seemed to be almost observing his limp figure.
“mhm. but not as thick as me, is he baby?” tsukki’s stomach twisted when he watched the two of you engage in a sloppy kiss right in front of his eyes. he hated it, the not-so-PDA. or at least, he figured he did. but that wouldn’t explain why watching you two was already bringing him closer to his release than he’d like to admit.
yamaguchi seemed to read his mind somehow, humming when the two of you finally separated. a swift hand moved to grab your wrists. “‘gonna make him cum too soon, sweetheart. hurry up and get on top before he passes out” he chuckled before grabbing a handful of your ass, still clad in the pants you’d been wearing since tsukki showed up at your door.
fuck you. i don’t need you to get on top. you’ll regret talking about me like that when i have you and your fucking boyfriend bent over in front of me.
the violent words once again died in his throat before he had a chance to utter them. he watched you like a fucking horny mutt as you removed your clothes. his eyes remained glued onto your figure through his blurred vision (his glasses had been discarded a while ago), while yamaguchi’s eyes remained glued onto him. his expression was a mix of prideful and just a hint of possession if you stared for long enough. but it was hard to be selfish when you have your hot as fuck girlfriend and undeniably attractive best friend nearly blowing their lids trying to fuck each other.
who would wanna miss that sight?
i may do a part two where they actually screw if anyone is interested.
thirsts and requests for haikyuu and bnha are open.

You liked to think that you were friends with the tall blonde sitting behind you in class.
But sometimes…
Thunk.
Sometimes…
Thunk.
Sometimes you really wanted to fucking strangle him.
Thunk.
“Can you stop kicking my chair!?” you hissed, staring at the smirking middle blocker.
“My foot slipped.” he replied coyly, causing your scowl to deepen.
Before you could retort back to him the bell rang, signaling the end of class. You started packing up your stuff, grumbling to yourself about how rude Tsukishima was.
“Don’t you want to walk to the clubs together?” He called out to your leaving form.
You huffed turning around to see him and Yamaguchi looking at you.
There were times when Tsukishima didn’t annoy you, and those were the times you would walk with them to your after school club activities.
You were part of the photography club, which was on the way to the gymnasium that held their volleyball practice.
But again, you only walked with them when Tsukishima wasn’t being an annoying little prick.
Today definitely wasn’t one of those days. He had been bugging you all day. It went from his annoying comments to him poking at you harshly, and then to kicking your chair.
You weren’t sure if it was because he was bored and had nothing better to do, or if it was because he actually didn’t think of you as a friend. Or because he was just simply an asshole.
Maybe it was a combination of all three, you didn’t know.
“No way.” you sniffed, sticking out your tongue to him. “I don’t want to walk with you anywhere today. If it was just Yama-kun then I would. But not if you’re there. Stupid.”
Tsukishima visibly looked annoyed at your statement.
“Y/n-chan.” Yamaguchi called out, raising his hands up as he looked at both annoyed expressions. “You guys should try and get along yeah?”
“Be quiet Yamaguchi.” Tsukishima sighed, moving to walk past you. “If she wants to be childish then just let her. I’m surprised she even got into this class.”
“I’m surprised Yama-kun is even your friend.” you fired back, crossing your arms over your chest. “I bet you aren’t even good at volleyball.”
Tsukishima paused, and then before you could even register what had happened, he was leaning down, incredibly close to your face and to your body. You could physically feel his body heat radiating into your own. His hand resting on the doorframe, preventing you from leaving the room.
“Why don’t you come by and find out?” he said slowly, ignoring the panicked squeak that escaped Yamaguchi’s lips. His gold eyes were piercing into your own, but you couldn’t see any anger in them at what you had said, you couldn’t see an ounce of annoyance either. But there was something else there, something you couldn’t place.
Ignoring your hammering heart and the heat creeping up into your face, you shoved his arm away scowling. “Maybe I will. Maybe I’ll take pictures of you sucking and have an article published in the school newspaper about you being a terrible person and sucking at volleyball!” you huffed stalking away from the tall first year angrily.
You ignored the calls of Yamaguchi and just focused on heading towards your club.
Today was definitely one of those days where you wanted nothing to do with Tsukishima.
The relationship you had with the middle blocker was incredibly strange. One minute you guys were perfectly fine with each other, and next - well it was exactly what had just happened.
Tsukishima scoffed as he watched your retreating figure. But he couldn’t deny the fact that your reactions were incredibly lame, but incredibly cute.
“You shouldn’t tease her like that Tsukki.” Yamaguchi sighed. “She’s never going to like you back if you keep making her mad like that.”
Tsukishima didn’t say anything as they continued their way to the gym.
Everyone knew that he liked you. It was incredibly obvious, and Tsukishima always made sure to make it incredibly obvious.
But it wasn't obvious to you.
The one person that it mattered to the most.
You were frustrating and amusing, stubborn and incredibly smart, quick-witted and incredibly beautiful.
The entire package.
And Tsukishima wanted you to be his.
But you were too fucking dense to realize that.
And quite frankly, he was getting sick of it. For as smart as you were, you were incredibly thick when it came to stuff like that it appeared.
It frustrated him to no end.
Usually what he depicted as playful flirting you thought as him just being downright mean.
It was a constant cycle, neverending.
It was ridiculous.
Actually scratch that.
This was ridiculous.
It had been a couple of days since that last encounter, Tsukishima deciding his chances at winning you over would probably be better if he stopped his teasing for a little bit.
But right now you were nodding your head rapidly in understanding as Hinata talked to you. You were there during one of their practices, to take photos of them. A project that you had to do for your photography club. Takeda-sensei had given you permission to be there to snap pictures of the team.
“- And then I go boom!” Hinata exclaimed bouncing around.
You smiled at his antics. “That sounds incredible Hinata! Do you think I can take a picture of you doing your crazy jump?” you asked, holding up the camera for emphasis.
But before he could utter an answer, Tsukishima interrupted. “We have to start practice, you can just take pictures then.” he said to you, glancing at you briefly.
You rolled your eyes at his aloofness and apologized to Hinata who was protesting loudly at what Tsukishima had said. “He’s right Hinata, I don’t want to impede on your guys’ practice so just pretend like I’m not here and I’ll take as many pictures as possible.”
Reluctantly he agreed and everyone continued the practices Ukai had asked them to do before splitting up into different teams. They were doing a match.
You were honestly in awe as you watched them play. You didn’t think that volleyball could be so… amazing. You had teased both Yamaguchi and Tsukishima about how boring the sport was.
You were so wrong.
You had almost forgotten to take pictures, you were so captivated.
But what had surprised you the most, was Tsukishima. You had never seen him so… concentrated? So serious? So… so attractive?
You felt your face flush, shaking your head to rid yourself of the thought. That was ridiculous. You had never been attracted to the middle blocker, you found him annoying, a completely arrogant, unnecessarily tall asshole, and… and he was incredibly good looking.
What was wrong with you? How could you even think of something like that? How could you - “Watch out!” your eyes went wide as a volleyball came hurtling at you with rapid speed.
Your eyes squeezed shut, readying yourself for the impact.
Only it never came. You heard a loud grunt and opened your eyes to see Tsukishima clenching at his fingers, the ball rolling away from his feet.
He… he protected you from the ball.
Tsukishima’s pointer finger throbbed in pain, he knew it wasn’t broken, but the nail had torn just a bit, blood seeping out of his wound.
He wasn’t sure what possessed him to move, he knew that Nishinoya was closer to you, he knew that he was heading towards the ball to stop it from hitting you. But his body just moved after he called out his warning.
“Oi Tsukishima are you okay?” Tanaka asked running up to him, several of his teammates surrounding him.
He removed his hand to reveal his bloody nail, causing you to gasp lightly.
“I need to stop the bleeding. I’ll go to the nurse.” Tsukishima said quietly.
“Let me help you.” You blurted out immediately, causing all eyes to be on you now. “It’s my fault you got injured.”
The tall blonde nodded, and both of you left the gym quietly.
“He’s got it bad huh?” Tanaka smirked, staring after you guys.
“I hope he can confess properly.” Yamaguchi sighed.
***
The walk to the infirmary was incredibly quiet, awkward almost. But it was just your luck that the nurse was nowhere to be found.
“You can go. I can take care of it from here.” Tsukishima said quietly.
You shook your head. “No. You got hurt because of me. At least let me help.” You started to take out the necessary equipment to help disinfect and wrap his finger. “Go ahead and sit down.” you said gesturing to the bed.
Tsukishima didn’t bother arguing, silently sitting at the edge of the bed and watching you closely.
Even sitting down, he was still incredibly tall. The top of his head just below your chin. You held your hand out his expectantly, he sighed quietly before placing his much larger hand in yours.
Carefully you cleaned up the blood and began wiping down the wound with a cotton ball soaked in alcohol. The smell stingy your nose, but the atmosphere around the both of you was quiet, calm almost.
His hand dwarfed your own, his fingers long and elegant, and surprisingly soft against your own touch.
Tsukishima couldn’t deny the fact that he was enjoying this immensely. You stood incredibly close to him, slightly between his parted legs as you worked. He could smell the soft perfume on your skin and the laundry detergent you used on your clothes.
It was a wonderful smell.
Maybe… maybe now would be a good time to tell you… right?
“I’m sorry Tsukishima.” you said quietly, wrapping his finger. “If I wasn’t there you wouldn’t be in this position.”
“It’s fine. It’s nothing serious.” he said, equally quiet.
“Does it hurt?” you asked, tilting your head to the side slightly as you stared into his gold eyes.
Tsukishima could feel the blush rising in his face, you were just too cute. The way you looked concerned about him. He liked that. He liked that a lot.
“It might hurt less if you kiss it better.” he said. He couldn’t resist, this situation was incredibly ideal to him.
You looked incredibly confused for a moment before taking his hand and gently pressing your lips against the tip of his injured finger.
Tsukishima felt like his heart was about to leap out of his chest, his face burning at the sweet gesture. And even though his finger was wrapped up, he just knew that your lips were incredibly soft. His other hand came up to press against his face, the backside of his hand covering the lower part of his face in embarrassment.
“What’s wrong?” you asked frowning, you had just done what he had said. Your heart was racing for some reason though, you weren’t sure why.
Tsukishima couldn’t take this anymore. He grabbed your wrist and tugged, pulling you into his chest, and then flipping you over onto the bed, his upper body hovering over yours.
Your face was completely red, you thought your heart was about to pop, he was way too close and his face held nothing but seriousness.
What did you do?
“Tsukishima-” “Quiet.” he demanded.
You snapped your jaw shut.
You watched him take a deep breath in before speaking. “You are the most infuriating person I know. You’re stupid and you don’t pay attention to what’s going on right in front of your face.”
Your nostrils flared slightly in anger. “Well right back at you asshole!” you grumbled back.
He rolled his eyes and moved his face closer to your own, causing you to quiet down once more.
“But despite how incredibly dense you are, you’re smart, you’re witty, you’re stubborn, you’re hardworking, you’re pretty -”
You have never been more confused in your entire life. Did he just insult you and then compliment you? Did he just call you pretty?
“ - and I literally can’t take this anymore.” he pushed up his glasses just a bit. “I’ve given you so many hints, made it so ridiculously obvious, and you still don’t understand you dimwit.”
You frowned further at his insults.
“I like you.” He said, “I’ve liked you for a while now. You just have never noticed. I want you to go out with me.”
He couldn’t handle the shy expression on your face after his confession. The soft look on your face, and the dark red blush coating your cheeks. His eyes flickered towards your lips, and he started to lean closer. Your soft hands came up and gently rested against his chest, but you never pushed him away. Your eyes fluttered shut as you prepared yourself for what was about to come next.
You could feel his breath hitting your face gently, causing your lips to part as you readied yourself -
“Tsukishima! Everyone wanted me to go check on you and -” the door opened suddenly, and Hinata stood staring at the scene before him.
Tsukishima whipped his head around with a hard glare at the orange haired male who had gone pale, and then had turned dramatically red at the sight before him.
You couldn’t help but cover your face in embarrassment at the position you and Tsukishima were in.
“I-I’m so sorry for interrupting!” Hinata screamed and slammed the door.
Tsukishima sighed, deflating slightly before removing himself from on top of you. He ignored the blush in his face as he stood up, looking back at you still laying on the bed.
So incredibly tempting.
“Wait for me after practice. We can walk home together.” He said simply before leaving the infirmary.
Did you… did you just get yourself a boyfriend?
You hoped so.

Even though you had been dating Tsukishima Kei for a little over six months now, you were still surprised when he invited you to a Thanksgiving Day dinner celebration with his family and closest friend Yamaguchi Tadashi. He had mentioned the festival that would take place earlier in the day and that after the two of you explored a bit, you’d go back to his home and have dinner with his mother, older brother, and best friend.
It was a little odd because Tsukishima had disagreed on group dates or meeting your own family multiple times. He always found excuses to not do it. He would only say that he liked to keep his love life private, and asked that you would respect that. And so far you had. You didn’t talk about what went on between the two of you with anyone outside of your relationship, even your friends. You would be vague about your dates and if you had a fight then you’d pretend like nothing was going on. He wanted privacy and you wanted to give that to him.
Despite that, you were really excited to finally meet his family. He had told you a lot about them and you had always wanted to meet them. You didn’t think he would have agreed if you had simply asked, so you never voiced your wishes to him. Luckily it seemed that time made him comfortable enough in your relationship to want to introduce you to the other people in his life finally.
That morning you put on one of your best outfits, something that was cute but suitable for meeting your boyfriend’s family. Once you were finished getting ready, you went outside to meet Tsukki at his car. He would never go up to the door, no matter how many times you told him it was okay. He smiled softly at you, approving of your attire. “You look cute.” He said before driving you to the festival.
The day was spent playing games and enjoying each other’s company. A few people recognized him from seeing his games with the Sendai Frogs and told them how they were big fans of him and the team. You knew he didn’t really care for the attention, always making an excuse to pull him away from the intruding person so he could relax by your side again. Tsukishima was always appreciative of how well you seemed to be able to read him. Despite his usual cold demeanor, people just seemed so eager to aggravate him. It was incredibly annoying.
Luckily, the fans bold enough to interrupt your time together were few and far between today. Tsukki won you a stuffed brontosaurus, making sure you tell you how inaccurate the plush was as you hugged it close to snuggle with it happily, listening to him list why it was improbable for a dinosaur to be neon pink with orange spots. Of course he added how the head wasn’t shaped quite right and the proportions were a tad off. It was enough to make you giggle as he took you back to his car to take you to his family home.
Anxiety fluttered in your chest as you watched the scenery pass you by in the window. What if they didn’t like you? You wondered to yourself. What if they thought you weren't good enough for him? A million negative scenarios and interactions raced through your mind as you thought of every conceivable way that you could screw this up. If this didn’t go well, then he’d probably never let you see them again. The thought of that hurt more than anything.
After failed scenario number five hundred and thirty seven, Tsukki pulled up to his family home and parked out front. He opened the door for you and you stepped out, choosing to leave your new beloved (though inaccurate) dino behind. You didn’t want them to think you were childish because you loved stuffed animals.
As he shut the car door behind you, Yamaguchi arrived with a wide smile. He greeted you enthusiastically, hugging you before giving Tsukishima a look that you couldn’t quite decipher. The three of you headed inside and deposited your shoes at the door as Kei’s mother came to greet you.
“This is my friend,” Tsukki began before telling her your name. You couldn’t stop your eyes from widening in shock, looking at him with hurt as you tried to reel in the fresh set of tears that threatened to spill from your eyes. Friend? That’s all you were to him? Since when?
You managed to compose yourself enough to bow to her as she told you it was nice to finally meet you. She then told Yamaguchi that she missed seeing him every weekend like she did when they were in high school together. The two began a friendly conversation as they retreated into the next room.
Still frozen in place, you tried to grasp hold on your shattering heart. After everything, the ups and downs, the hiding you away, the confessions of love, the sex, he still somehow thinks of you as only…a friend? There was a lump in your throat, making it painful to swallow. Tsukishima didn’t seem to be pressed by the state you were in, he simply walked further into the house to catch up with his mother and friend.
You took a deep breath to try and regain control of yourself. You attempted to numb the pain in your heart, simply thinking that if he just wanted to be friends then you’d simply treat him as a friend and nothing more. Two could play this game, not matter how much it hurt.
Tsukki introduced you to his older brother and his significant other. You and Yamaguchi chatted with him while Tsukishima went to help his mother with something in the kitchen. You tried to keep yourself in the moment and to not think too much about the greeting. Though, he repeated himself again when introducing you to Akiteru. Being friendzoned on what you thought was a date was possibly one of the hardest things you’d ever had to do. You wish you could go back in time and decline his invitation to come over in the first place.
Yamaguchi could read you like an open book. Not that you were incredibly hard to read in the first place, but it was easy to see that something was bothering you. Of course he knew exactly what was on your mind. He took you to the side after you finished chatting with Akiteru. “I’m sorry, I probably should have warned you I had a feeling this would happen.” He said to you in a quiet voice so that no one else could hear him.
“I just want to go home.” You confessed. Despite how delicious the food smelled, you had no desire to even be near Tsukishima after what he had just done to you. The pain was simply too fresh, the wound too new. “I think I’m going to be sick…”
He rubbed your back in an attempt to comfort you. “I think this is just his way of testing you.” Yamaguchi said, hoping that it would make you feel better. Alas it only made you feel worse. Why the hell did you need to be tested? Had you not gone through enough together in the past six months? Anger was starting to overwhelm your hurt and Tadashi attempted to backpedal. “I could be wrong though. Sometimes I don’t know what goes on in his head.”
You dabbed at your eyes with the end of her shirt sleeve to try and keep the tears from falling. “Can you sit between us?” You asked, “I don’t want to be next to him right now.” He nodded, understanding how you were feeling. He wished he could pull Kei aside and ask him himself what was going through that head of his. Why was he doing this to the girl that he said he loved? Sometimes he could be such an enigma.
Akiteru informed them that dinner was ready and the table was set. Tsukishima as already seated, Yamaguchi stayed true to his word and sat down next to him while you sat next to Yamaguchi. You could feel Kei’s eyes on you, wondering just what you were doing, but you ignored him totally. You told his mother that everything looked and smelled wonderful and she thanked you happily.
The six of you began to eat, and everything tasted as good as it looked. It was almost worth the heartache that Tsukishima was putting you through, though you had already decided if he was so ashamed of you then you didn’t need to be in a relationship any more. You were hurt, angry, and at this point didn’t know what else to do. If he wanted to break up with you, then he could have found an easier way.
The dinner was tense to say the least. You did your best to ignore Tsukishima, even though his family kept asking you questions about one another. How you met, did you hang out often, and many other questions that made it obvious that they were trying to see if the two of you were just friends or not. You kept your answers polite, but made it clear that you weren’t in an intimate relationship with Kei, at least not anymore.
The slipup caused everyone to stare at you with wide eyes, even Kei himself. You not being together anymore was certainly news to him, though he played it off like it was no big deal. He wondered if this was because he didn’t claim you as his significant other right away or if maybe you’d been wanting to break up for some time now. His own mind was clouded with doubts and anxieties as he became even quieter at the table. It was obvious that there was something going on between you two, it was just unclear what exactly that was.
Once everyone had finished eating, you helped Tsukki’s mother clear up the dishes and put extra food away. “You know, my son has a very interesting way of handling information he doesn’t want his family to know.” She said as she passed you a dish to dry off. “He has always been a very private person, even as a small child. I never quite understood where he got it from.”
You weren’t sure what her point was, drying off another dish with the towel in your hand. “He never tells us when he has a girlfriend because he’s afraid we’ll bother them.” She said admittedly, “He thinks we’ll pry too much. I think he keeps it a secret more due to his own insecurities than anything else.”
“Sometimes being kept a secret doesn’t feel very good.” You replied, not knowing what else to say to her. “Being kept in the dark isn’t that great either.”
“Well, no.” She said back as she finished the last plate and handed it to you. “But he doesn’t have a whole lot of practice with that sort of thing either. I don’t think he reads women very well.”
You nodded, wanting to believe that his denial of their relationship was simply due to him being an insecure idiot, but it was a little hard to believe. It still felt more like he was ashamed of you. “He’s never actually brought anyone over besides Tadashi before.” His mother said, “I think this was a big step for him.” She left to go tackle another chore as you stayed in the kitchen, nibbling on your lower lip. Did you possibly jump the gun?
Tsukishima walked into the kitchen and you realized the two of you were alone. He had an apathetic look on his face. “So we’re not together anymore?” He asked, as if the conversation at dinner was unclear.
Your eyes narrowed and you threw the dishrag at him. “I don’t know, Kei, you tell me.” You hissed before crossing your arms over your chest. “Can you please just take me home?”
He was frowning, which although wasn’t totally unusual, it was more pronounced than normal. He nodded his head, letting out a soft disappointed sigh before letting everyone know he was going to take you back to your apartment.
You walked with him to his car, allowing him to open the door for you. You got in, putting the stuffed dinosaur in the backseat. Honestly you didn’t even want to look at it anymore, you had already decided that you’d pretend to forget it there.
Tsukki got into the driver’s side, buckling his seat belt and starting the car. Already he knew things were worse than he thought. For as long as he’d known you, he’d never seen you abandoned a stuffed toy. You’d always keep it in your lap or in your arms, somewhere close because you wanted it to feel loved (he really didn’t understand this but chose to let it go). He swallowed hard, trying to figure out a way to fix things before they were beyond repair.
The drive was extremely tense. He caught you sniffling back tears a few times, the need to console you growing more and more despite the fact that now his heart was breaking too. “Listen,” He said, addressing you by your name, “I was going to tell them, but I wanted them to get to know you first without any pressure.” He was inwardly hoping that the truth was enough to heal your hurt, though he wasn’t entirely sure if it was or not. “I knew they’d pry and I thought it would be easier on you if I just said you were a friend.”
“Kei we’ve been dating six months now and they didn’t even know you were seeing someone?” You asked, though his explanation did help somewhat, it was still unacceptable that you had been kept such a secret. “Why are you so ashamed of me?”
“I’m not ashamed of you.” He said back, his voice raising a hair at the accusation. “I never said that I was. I just don’t like them butting into my private life, that’s it. It had nothing to do with how I feel about you.”
You shied away at his loud volume, sinking into the seat like a child that had just been chastised. “That’s what it feels like…” You mumbled back meekly. “That you don’t care enough to tell them about me.”
He glanced at you before looking back at the road. “How many times have I told you that you mean more to me than anything in the entire world?” He asked, sounding tired. “I’ve never loved anyone as much as I love you.” He always hated saying those words, but sometimes the moment did call for it. Moments such as this. “I just didn’t want my family to pester me about you nonstop. They get carried away and it's overwhelming.”
You were quiet, unsure what to say. “Why didn’t you just tell me that beforehand so I wouldn’t have gotten hurt?”
His cheeks turned a light shade of pink, “I was going to tell them right away but I panicked at the last moment. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you, really.”
You blinked slowly, reaching into the backseat for the dino and hold. The action made Tsukishima let out a sigh of relief. It was at least a sign that he hadn’t ruined everything completely. “So are we still broken up?”
“No,” You muttered back to him awkwardly. “I’m sorry I made you leave early.”
He shrugged, “I’d rather just be with you anyway. Akiteru can be such a pain.”
A small smile broke on your face as you rode the rest of the way in a happy silence.

karasuno first years — praise or degradation?
tw// nsfw, vagina-having reader, heavy praise, heavy degradation, risky public sex & oral (giving)
all aged up!
shōyō hinata
♡ praise ofc
♡ he just thinks you’re so beautiful 🥺
♡ how could stay quiet about it?
♡ how vocal he is purely depends on if he’s went to practise that day
♡ the msby jackals work him to the bone to he just wants to come home, fuck you stupid silently then go to bed
♡ so if he’s not went to work, then he’s probably full of energy
♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥
hinata continued to pound into you relentlessly, a huge grin plastered across his face as he watched you submissively take his cock like his good girl. though, it’s not like you had much of a choice considering he had a steel grip on your hips, practically using you as a fleshlight at this point.
“good girl~” his speech was slurred, continuing to jut into your with vigour, grinning proudly as he observed you struggling to take his whole length, “you’re so pretty lookin’.”
tobio kageyama
♡ neither
♡ he’s so quiet during sex istg
♡ but in his mind, he’s only thinking of compliments so praise ig??
♡ but the closest he’s ever gotten to praising you is one time y’all were doing it while he was a bit tipsy, he mindlessly groaned, ‘woah, you’re hot’
♡ and the closest he’s gotten to degrading you is while you were giving him a blowjob, you were teasing him a lil’ bit and he seriously couldn’t take it anymore so he just muttered, ‘bitch.’ under his breath before jutting his hips into your mouth
♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥
kageyama stood aloof as he looked down at you with a menacing glare; why were you being such a brat today? can’t you just suck him off quickly so he can go back to practise? the team were probably getting suspicious by now but you just sat there on your knees, gently swirling your tongue around his tip while gazing up at him innocently with a mischievous glint in your eyes - you clearly knew that you were driving him crazy.
only a few seconds passed before he was simply unable to handle it anymore, so his hand instinctively reached down to grab a clump of your hair in his fist and push his hips further into your mouth. bliss immediately enveloped his mind and he forgot to let go of it so it got to the point where he was just mouth-fucking you, his mouth hung open while letting out silent groans.
kei tsukishima
♡ degradation
♡ but he’s really nice to you...in his mind :))
♡ anyway yeah he’s like into degradation so much
♡ how mean he is to you depends on how bratty you’re being/if there is a special occasion
♡ it turns him on so much when you agree with his degrading comments
♡ ‘you’re such a desperate whore’ he’d hiss then proceed to get weak knees when you reply, ‘only for you, kei.’
♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥
“but tsukki~” you whined with a pout, as if that’d make a difference when your boyfriend’s eyes were fixated on your soaking cunt, “it’s my birthday, so be gentle?”
tsukishima quirked a brow, finally shifting his gaze to meet yours, only to let out a mocking laugh, “your birthday? why should i care?” he scoffed, and before you could complain further, he stuck two fingers in your mouth to serve as a gag. “if anything, i should go harder since you’re a dirty fuckin’ slut who likes that shit anyway.”
tadashi yamaguchi
♡ praise but he really wants to try degradation
♡ like sometimes you ride him to make him feel better about losing a game and he is just so frustrated with himself for making a shitty serve and degradation would really help him take it out in a way that you both can enjoy
♡ so one time the word ‘whore’ just slipped from his lips and you were like
♡ new kink unlocked: degradation
♡ then proceeded to beg him to degrade you more
♡ and ofc he said yes
♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥
you both stared at each other intensely, eyes wide and both extremely turned on by the word that just fell from tadashi’s lips. he was quite ashamed at first but upon noticing your lips curl into a smile before pleading for him to be meaner, it was as if all his dreams had come true.
“faster, c’mon.” yamaguchi spat, taking a fistful of your thigh and giving it a tight squeeze to cope with the immense amount of pleasure he was feeling as you rode him. “i said faster, bitch.” his voice was shaky yet intimidating none the less as you knew he wouldn’t hesitate in flipping you over and dicking you down right there and then if you don’t give him what he wants.
(pink bc pink is my fav color and she is my fav character 🥺)
hitoka yachi
♡ depends on whether she is giving or receiving
♡ when you’re fingering her, she become the most submissive gal alive
♡ and she compliments you so frequently - even if you are degrading her
♡ ‘you make me feel so good, (y/n--’ ‘shut up.’
♡ but as soon as she puts on that bright pink strap-on..it unlocks something deep inside her that you’d never see otherwise
♡ like yamaguchi, when the strap is on, her frustrations come out in the form of degradation
♡ she genuinely takes the term ‘going feral’ to an another level

honestly, looking up at yachi while she was ramming into you was intimidating, to say the least.
a menacing grin spread across her face as she looked down at your cunt with an proud glint in her eyes, her singular aim being that she needed to see you cry for her. and the fact she was on the brink of achieving it only 5 minutes in was scary.
“you like that, don’t you?” she choked, continuously abusing your sweet spot. once she noticed that you were too fucked silly to conjure a response, she answered for you, “of course you do.”

hi! can i ask for a scenario where ushijima, tsukki, kenma said something maybe out of the line that hurt your feelings and you just give them the silent treatment or become distant?? then like how they'd react to it and stuff :) thank you vm, have a good day 🙈
a/n - sorry this took me so long to write (and post). anyway, i hope you enjoy it. it was my first time writing for kenma so i'm not sure if i portrayed him right but let me know what you think!
"you're acting like a child," he sighs, pushing you away from him. your arms fall to your sides, missing the feeling of ushijima's warm body. "stop being so clingy. it's annoying"
you knew he was honest, but there is a time and a place for him to voice his opinion on your affection, and in front of his friends was not one of them
all you had wanted to do was give him a hug in greeting. yes, you may have stayed attached to him longer than was necessary but you had barely seen him all day
"okay," you say, turning on your heel and walking away. you don't even bother saying goodbye, too hurt and annoyed to bother
ushijima's brows furrow in confusion as he watches you walk away. tendou is watching the scene with wide eyes, fighting the urge to snicker
"did i do something wrong?" ushijima questions, staring after your receding figure. tendou finally does let out a snort, quickly slapping his hands over his mouth when ushijima turns to look at him
it is semi who gives ushijima's shoulder a squeeze in reassurance, though his eyes hold slight judgement as he says, "you hurt their feelings because you were being too blunt. you should probably apologise"
ushijima nods and then follows after your figure, his strides lengthening to catch up with you
his hand, warm and large, encloses around your own as he catches up to you, matching your pace
you remain silent, choosing to ignore his presence beside you
the silence settles between you, heavy and unwanted. though his mouth opens to form words, he can't bring himself to say anything. maybe it's his stubbornness, but he can't see how his words may have hurt you when they were the truth
"now who's being clingy?" you mumble angrily, yanking your hand from his grip and increasing your pace. your arms cross over your chest so he can't take your hand again. this increase in pace doesn't bother him and he easily matches it
he is persistent, irritatingly so. when he follows you into your room, you almost snap. instead, you silently fume, collapsing onto your bed and turning away from him. he watches your figure, expression holding slight confusion
"why are you ignoring me?"
you stay silent, stubbornly staring at the wall instead of him. when the mattress dips slightly under his weight, you scoot closer to the wall. his frown deepens
"what did i do wrong?" he questions, and you let out a sigh at how oblivious he is. "i was just being honest..."
your scowl deepens, especially when you feel him rest his hand on your back soothingly, rubbing circles into it. it is ushijima's turn to sigh as he looks at you
"i'm sorry if my words hurt you," he admits, the words causing you to turn slightly to look at him. his expression is as stoic as usual, though his eyes soften when they meet yours
"i just wish you had more of a filter sometimes, toshi," you explain, sitting up and leaning back against the headboard. you hug your knees to your chest, head tilting to look at him. "i know you tend to say what you're thinking but i sometimes wonder if you understand how what you say can effect other people. you called me a child, clingly, annoying. that's hurtful, toshi. you probably didn't mean it like that but you did hurt my feelings. i hadn't seen you all day and, when i hugged you, you told me that?"
"i'm sorry," he says again, a slight frown to his face as he considers your words. his arm wraps around your shoulders, pulling you into his body. "i'll try to think about my words before i say them from now on"
he hugs you tight, and you relax in his hold, savouring the closeness
it's normal for him to send a teasing remark your way, just as it's normal for you to return the favour
however, today, his words hit a little too close to home, targeting an insecurity he wasn't aware of
you were frowning down at the maths sheet in front of you, brows furrowed as you struggled to work out the problems
you never usually felt inferior in terms of academics, but, right now, as you struggled to work out what was relatively simple maths, it started to grate at you
tsukishima wasn't really helping the issue. he seemed oblivious to your stressing, leaning back in his chair as he nodded his head along to the music
his eyes slid over to you, to your figure scribbling away on the paper. he pulled his headphones off, shooting you a teasing grin (though this went unnoticed by you)
his voice, light and teasing, cut through your focus, the words immediately putting you on edge
"if you focus any harder, you're going to be even more stupid than you already are"
your lips pursed but he went on, oblivious to your discomfort
"i can actually see the last bits of your intelligence leaving yout skull." this was punctuated by his finger giving your forehead a poke
you flinched away from him, a scowl lining your features. mumbling under your breath a number of unflattering things, you gathered your work and shoved it into your bag
"where are you going?" he asked, sitting up straighter in his chair, eyes filled with confusion and a bit of concern
you ignored him, pushing open the classroom door, deciding to head to the library to get away from him
for the rest of the day, tsukishima's attempts to speak to you were met with stony silence
so, naturally, he got annoyed, pissed off, and decide to ignore you to
it got to the point where both of you were simply staring through the other as if they weren't there when in a group situation, which was awkward for everyone involved
it was kageyama who told you to get your shit together, while hinata and yamaguchi could only agree
"i will when he apologises for being a dick," you said to kageyama, while tsukishima's eyes narrowed into a glare
"what the fuck," he snapped. "you've been giving me the cold shoulder all day and it's somehow my fault? bullshit"
you spun to face him, arms crossing over your chest. you spat, "you called me stupid when i was stressing over my math work. was i supposed to say thanks? fine. thank you, kei, that was really fucking helpful"
"what?" he blinked, looking at you im confusion. yes, he had teased you. but, he assumed you would know that he had been joking. if he had thought you were struggling, he would of helped you
as this was happening, your friends had edged away to give you some privacy. this was why tsukishima felt fine in admitting this to you
"if i thought you were struggling, you know i would have helped you." his hand reached out to take your hand, finger stroking your knuckles as his eyes met yours
you let out a frustrated sigh, your resolve crumbling. "i know... sorry for being a bit of a brat about it. i should've just told you that you had hurt me"
"yeah, you should've," he teased, pulling you closer to him. his lips pressed against your forehead in apology for getting annoyed at you in. "but, it's fine"
when you came over that weekend, he was busy gaming, like he usually was
ordinarily, when you walked through the door, he would start to wrap up the game, saying goodbye to who he was in the call with
today, however, was slightly different
he was playing a particularly difficult story game, which he had been struggling to complete all week (his choices, much to his frustration, kept getting the character killed)
therefore, you could understand why he was engrossed enough to only give you a simple greeting, a nod of the head
expecting him to only take an hour at maximum (you were content to just be in his company), you relaxed on the bed and pulled out your phone. two hours later, he had still not said a word to you
you sat up on the bed, moving towards him to drape yourself over the back of his chair, resting your head on his shoulder
"kenma..." you said, drawing out his name slightly, "are you almost finished?"
"urgh, just fuck off," he sighed, shrugging your arms off of him. "can't you see i'm busy?"
"fine," you snapped, stepping away from him and heading towards the bedroom door. you pushed it open and let it slam shut behind him
for a moment, you paused, waiting to see if he would react, maybe realise what he said was wrong. instead, the room remained painfully still
when it became clear he was not coming out to find you, you straightened and walked out of the house
kenma didn't realise you were avoiding him for a couple days until he picked up his phone to see no messages from you
it became clear that you were making every effort to avoid him when you made no effort to see him in person
he got so confused as to why you were clearly distancing yourself from him that he went to kuroo
it was after talking with his friend that he realised he had been insensitive and rude
however, you were hard to get alone, using every excuse avaliable to you to get out of spending time with your boyfriend
the whole thing was frustrating, to say the least. he missed you (though don't expect him to openly admit it)
it took him saying 'i'm sorry' rather loudly in a public area for you to turn to face him
your pause gave him the chance to grab your hand, to keep you anchored to him in case you left again
"sorry, are you?" you asked, head cocked slightly. "not a nice feeling, being ignored, is it?"
you would admit you were being a bit bratty, but, to be fair, he deserved
naturally, kenma didn't bother to reply, but it was fine, the gentle way he squeezed your fingers and the quick kiss he brushed to the side of your head more than enough to convey his apology
