In your Joon-gi Han (Yakuza 7) artwork, who is the person the severed statue head is modeled after?
Oh wow! Its been a long time since I painted that but I based the head sculpture from Michelangelo's David.
Its supposed to be Joon-gi looking at himself in Michelangelo's David. His past, his purpose and all that what makes him reflects on the broken head piece.
Since the material of the sculpture was so difficult to work on that prior to Michelangelo himself, a lot of artist had a hard time sculpting on the marble but in the end a masterpiece came out of it. It was also been dubbed as the epitome of physical perfection.
Joon-gi (Yakuza 7) was just a body double forced to surgery by his own father to look like the real deal and the real Han Joon-gi pitied him and took him under his wing.
The illustration is not only just a self reflection though, its also a mockery of Joon-gi's (Yakuza 7) predicament with himself. Its also why I titled it as Theory of Beauty (also because that's his theme song's name lol)
I am so sorry this is such a long response for a simple ask HAHAHAHA been waiting for someone to ask about my art for a long time.
