The chicken broth lives on, here in sweet and sour cabbage soup. This one is simple enough that the higher quality ingredients are really shining. I'm thankful for leftovers--though I appreciate my workplace having free snacks, it does encourage some dodgy lunch choices.

I did make the tzimmes too, just earlier in the week. I was side-eye about this recipe--and opted not to add in the optional dried cranberries, for fear of making it too sweet--but I was wrong and am a fool. I want to live in this juice. I drank it like soup. I will eat any kind of tzimmes any time forever. Also now you too have to look at the suggestive carrot I found.

i wish we had alloaro representation in media. a charming character who fucks - both literally AND aesthetically. one that makes other characters go "wow! they're so cool and good in bed, but ultimately un-datable, because as soon as they sense any romantic intention on you, they flee" (kinda like lucifer morningstar from "lucifer". he's aroallo in my heart)

a character who's funny and has a horrifyingly 80's sense of fashion (they have a curly combed-out mullet and mismatched earrings. you'll find them at pride wearing a corn costume because it "matches the aroallo flag" and they're "being subtle") or one who's the embodiment of a 60's greaser (their motorcycle helmet is themed after the aro flag and the back of their leather jacket says "LOVELESS / LOVE LOSES") or one who's a girly fanfiction writer that has more ships than a star wars movie (their fics are muntifandom-ly famous and most their stuff is covered in yaoi/yuri patches and stickers. everyone thinks they're a hopeless romantic because of it, but that's exactly why they're so big on the fiction ≠ reality discourse) or...

anyone else, really. just ultimately a HUMAN who's casually aromantic. one who doesn't make it a parade but isn't subtle about it, either. will they hold other character's hands? maybe. kiss their cheek? perhaps. hang out with them, on picnics and walks along the river? can't see why not! but platonically. or maybe have them be genuinely romance-repulsed & not so eager to participate in anything socially perceived as romantic. that would also be amazing.

let them express themselves sexually! let them fuck. give them a..."fuckbuddy", if you must. or a best friend who's sexually involved with them - classic romcom material, i know - but without it being "complicated"; because there's no romance involved to complicate it.

give them funny scenes. another character tries to kiss their lips or ask them on a date? they laugh nervously, the scene cuts and we get a hilarious shot of them escaping through the bathroom window. or audibly saying "ew" and then regretting it. another character is struggling to write a romcom/romance book without it being corny? we get a scene where our character casually describes the most romantical (and, to them, unappealing) plot ever - because, much like aces acing the smut department, they're far from misunderstanding what is or isn't heartstopping for alloromantics - only to have the other character stare at them like "?????????? HELLO????". give us a scene of them being confused as to why their hookup is yelling at them for acting "so casual" and responding with a quotable shitty line ("just because we had sex last night i can't call you "bro"? / "what? expected me to marry you or something? get off my bed, it's 9AM" / "would you rather have me mad? sad? what's happening here. give me a hint")

but give them complicated scenes too. scenes portraying the loneliness that comes with being aromantic but not asexual, the lack of community. them talking about how hard it is to maintain sexual relationships just sexual. the painful "breakups" because one of their friends declared their undying love for them but they cannot possibly match that energy, even if they wanted to. have them weep because somehow that keeps happening. the unfairness in being accused of heartlessness and selfishness by other queers. the shame on being told they're fetishistic and the reason why queer men/women/people are seen as sex-crazed or impure.

...anyways, i'm rambling- do y'all have any aroallo ocs? or ideas for alloaro characters? maybe aroallo headcanons? i'd love to know what you think! :)

After the death of the President's son years earlier, no one had any plan on what to do when his father passed. Of course, there would have still been an election, technically, but everyone knew Felix would have won. He was raised to be the next President, but very few people knew that he wasn't the only one.

"No, Darling. You take it."

"What? No, we've always done everything together." You protest, furrowing your brow. "She's offered it to both of us, we can do whatever we want, no more waiting for her approval. We can run with it! Come on, it'll be so fun, Coryo."

"That's your dream. Not mine." He smiled at you, brushing his thumb over your cheek.

You frowned, focussing yourself on pulling the buttons of his shirt so they were perfectly aligned. "Are... Are you sure? I don't know if I can do it without you."

"You'll never do anything without me, you know that." He hummed, pushing your hair out of your eyes. "If you need help, just ask. I'm right here. Always."

"But... I don't understand, Coryo. Why not?" You pout. Sharing the position of Head Gamemaker was something you had dreamt of since the beginning of your internship together, shortly after returning from Twelve.

"Well," He sighs, shrugging slightly. "I've been pulling some strings, working my way up, and the President is on his deathbed, apparently. So I'm thinking I'll probably start my campaign soon." The smile on his face shows you he'd been planning this for a while- of course he had, for most of his life, his loved ones were telling him that would be his destiny: Coriolanus Snow, future President of Panem. You saluted him, always.

You gasp, clapping your hands together in excitement. "Really?" You smile. "That's wonderful, Love! Oh, I just can't wait!" You squeal, throwing your arms over his shoulders and jumping into his grasp as he hugged you back.

That's the beginning of the journey that has led you here. Tireless hours planning campaign events and strategies, speeches, and everything that goes on behind the scenes. You knew he was a shoo-in. 

The polls had closed days ago, the results were in, and the only one who knew the results was standing in front of your husband on the stage. You sat in the front row of the expansive audience, gripping tightly onto your brother's hand with nervousness as he sat next to you. He was an adult now, nearly. You had pulled him from school today for the event, and he had changed from his academy uniform into a tux you bought for him in the car on the ride over.

You were grateful that your father had allowed you to maintain a connection with him at the very least, though you wouldn't doubt that Coryo had something to do with that. He single-handedly granted every wish you'd ever had.

Your eyes are locked on Coryo sitting onstage, but he can't risk sparing a glance your way. He would smile, and he can't have that until he's won. He carries himself with such grace, such professionalism that your cheeks flush just looking his way.

"The new President of Panem will be..." A moment of suspense, tacky, but it still makes you sweat as you pull your brother's hands into your lap, forcing him to lean in closer to ground you while you wait for the announcer to continue. "Our youngest candidate, Coriolanus Snow!"

He's on his feet in a second, and so are you as you scream with excitement, practically jumping into your brother's arms. You feel the people around you putting their hands on you, patting you in a series of excited congratulations. He had worked so hard for this. He deserved it more than anyone, you were certain.

Your excitement is only quieted when you hear your husband's voice over the loudspeakers, having taken the podium for himself. As is his right, now.

"Thank you, thank you." He says to quiet the crowd, trying to curb the wide smile threatening to form on his cheeks to keep a mature, calm one. "Thank you, wow." He chuckles, and you stay clutching onto your brother's hand as you pay attention now, sitting back down.

"It is truly an honour to be here. I have a long list of people to thank, but I'd like to keep it brief for all of your sakes. So I'll say thank you to my family, who have supported me my whole life. Most importantly, I have to thank my beautiful wife. She's done more for me than anyone could ever fully understand." He looks at you, finally, and you blow him a kiss. "Come up here, Darling. Please. I wouldn't be here without you."

You blush, more than you already were, giving your brother a quick hug as he ushers you on, the cameras tracking the two of you as he escorts you to the stairs up to the stage and holds your hand as you carefully make your way up in your heels and long, red dress. You continue to hold it up so you don't step on it as you make your way over to your husband, who is waiting with an open arm for you to slot yourself into. You do, seamlessly, planting a kiss on his cheek as the audience cheers for you. You look out over it for the first time, pride swelling like a balloon behind your ribs. This was it. This was your life now.

"To a greater Panem!" Coryo calls out, attention once again returned to the people in front of you. The people of a country that's all yours. The people of the Capitol eat it up, cheers for you morphing into a roar that inflates your ego beyond belief.

"Congratulations, President Snow." You say in his ear, loud enough so he could hear it without the microphone picking it up.

Coriolanus smiles, wider now, squeezing your side and planting a kiss on your hairline. "It's all for you." He replies. "Panem will be your garden."

my thoughts on Saga Anderson and the lack of spotlight on her in fanworks

Hmmm…this has been bothering me since I waded into the fandom after AW2 dropped. WHY DOES 99.9% OF THE FANDOM SLEEP ON SAGA WHILE IT'S HALF HER GAME???

I DON'T understand the fixation on Casey (even though I adore him and he's the other half of my OTP), or Zane to the point that when Saga is in ensemble art, she's relegated to being the "bro". And for what purpose? She has just as much build up and storyline as Alan himself. She certainly has more screen time than FBI Casey. I see posts going "oh, I love Saga so much, she was so badass" and then almost nothing when it comes to fan work.

Do y'all understand, how, as a black woman, this frustrates me to NO end? I go to her tag on AO3, see new fics, get excited...just to see she's the bro or footnote to CaseyWake. I've literally been brought to TEARS over this. Saga was written with SO much love and care, and it's so obvious. She was not the stereotypical sassy, angry, loud black woman that we tend to get when we're even thought of at all.

And it's genuinely PAINFUL to see all of the love, all of that care, ALL OF THAT RESPECT, IGNORED by fandom because you want to focus on the white men. Because why? I get it, het is so icky for most of you, fine. But to not even give her fanart/fics just on her and her daughter? It's terribly egregious.

Saga Anderson is genuinely a role model. She's smart, warm, funny, dedicated, sympathetic and passionate. She will change REALITY just to save the ones she loves. She's NEVER had to deal with anything like the Bright Falls situation and she came through it with such GRACE. She saved the fucking day. She did what Alan couldn't do in THIRTEEN YEARS. And she gets no recognizance in fanworks?

I can't tell anyone who to like, or who to ship, nor would I ever try to, because on the internet, it seems like het is icky despite how amazing the woman is. But I've seen comments towards andercase fanart going "Saga, no, you're married!" But shipping CaseyWake in the same breath, despite Alan being married and getting back to his wife being the main motivation for Alan to do anything at all.

It comes off as hypocritical, it comes off a wee bit "I don't know what to do with this black woman...hmm, let's just make her root for CaseyWake" I'm left feeling that Sam and the team love Saga more than the fans ever do or will. And that fucking sucks. Because to put so much thought into a character and love the character, just to be ignored?

That hurts, really really badly. I genuinely enjoyed feeling like I was represented. I loved having a character I could relate to, one I could understand. But it feels like I'm in the minority. When she tells Alan he's not alone in this, this is THEIR story...well, that was the truth for me, and I wish others felt the same way.

I genuinely adore the works Saga has gotten that focus on her, and I see so much love and care put into them. It just somehow feels like fandom made this game into CaseyWake 24/7 and it's icky.

the reason why peperoncino is in a wheelchair is unfortunately not because of lemon (i wish it was) but because of something too graphic to talk about on this post. long story short is he got torn in half by two pieces of metal in the ocean and survived three more hours before being found by lemon. i have a more in-depth explanation on a different post in the ship tag

apparently one of my hcs for lemon is he's a sentient robot so in the drawing he has a data panel on the back so in his cookie form other cookies could check in on him but because of the whole electricity becoming too dangerous and everyone becomes scared of him thing he was. kinda neglected by the scientists

so a couple of headcanons about lemon and peperoncino's relationship. uh. so lemon and peperoncino spent a lot of time together in the hospital but during the first couple days peperoncino couldn't speak any comprehensible words because he was so tired but lemon magically knew what he was trying to explain to him and since lemon treated him so nicely and understood him he started to get really comfy around him and then lemon noticed that and started to have feelings for him but repressed them because he would probably just lose him (peperoncino felt the same and he repressed his attraction too)

usually both parties don't like speaking to others or physical touch but they just now reserve it for one another

sorry for headcanon dumping about lemon on a peperoncino post but i prommy this is relevant to the ship. so about orange using lemon to "recharge." how that works is orange just hugs lemon for a prolonged amount of time (which lemon does not like because of the previously stated headcanon) which kinda transfers energy from him to the other cookie which tires lemon out.

so what lemon does is he plugs himself in (there's a special charging port in between his legs where a reproductive organ would usually be) and when he rests he only puts himself on sleep mode (not completely shutting down because the energy transfer system won't work that way) and hugs peperoncino. triple win situation because he doesn't tire himself out while charging his bf and all the while he gets to cuddle with him :D!!!!!!!

There's a small corner store tucked away in a fairly busy part of the city. One that not many people frequent. But one that pays exceptionally well. This is the store Geto works at. Where he has worked for the past three years.

He doesn't mind it. He rather likes working there. Sometimes. Lately he's stopped liking it so much. The new manager is an asshole and thinks Geto looks unprofessional. Says all his piercings and tattoos drive away costumers.

If anything, they do the opposite. So many giggling school girls come in because they think he has a sort of bad boy charm to him. Of course he never tells the girls he isn't. And he never tells the girls hes not into girls either.

He would rather keep that to himself. Seeing how his last relationship left him as a single father. That prick left his daughters with him. But on the bright side, they are now his pride and joys.

Since then he's been on his own with his twin girls. Nanako and Mimiko. He loves them dearly. Like they were his own. They are why he forces himself to keep working at this dammed corner store.

Geto checks the clock again. This stupid job makes him go insane. But there's nothing he can do about it. He needs this job. So he forces another smile onto his face. If you can make it through this last customer, you can go home to the girls. He tells himself.

The next customer walks up to the counter as he's putting money into the register. So he starts up his usual little speech that he's memorized from the years of working there.

"Hello. Did you find everything you-" And he stops in his tracks. He actually stops. Because standing in front of him is the prettiest boy he thinks he's ever seen. Actually, the prettiest man he thinks he's ever seen.

He looks expensive. Dressed head to toe in some brands Geto has never even heard of. But he's sure they must have cost more than his apartment alone. I mean, how do you even say that brand? He has no idea!

The man has a slight shine to his lips. Pretty and pink. His hair is such an unusual color. A bright white that almost shines. And his eyes are covered by sunglasses, which do little to hide the amusement that dances in them.

Geto then thinks he must look awfully plain compared to him. Dressed in his work uniform and looking rather dull. His hair pulled into a lazy ponytail with all those piercings and tattoos on display.

Geto clears his throat and looks away. "Everything you were looking for?" He says in a calm voice. One that doesn't reflect how his heart pounds in his chest. Geto wonders why he looks so familiar. Has he met him before? Probably not.

The man chuckles and crosses his arms. "Almost. There's one thing I just couldn't find." Geto nods. "I'm sorry to hear that." Pull yourself together Suguru! This is embarrassing. Even for you.

God how long has it been since he last went on a date? Far to long. "Maybe you could help me find it?" Geto looks up at the man again. And then immediately regrets his decision. Has his face always felt this hot? Has it always been this red?

Geto nods. "Of course. What are you looking for?" The man smiles. A smile that Geto swears he's seen somewhere before. "Well, I was just looking for your number." And that, that makes Geto let out a noise somewhere between a squeal and a choke.

The man laughs and again Geto swears he's heard it before. "I'm sorry. I don't give out my number while I'm working." An automatic response that Geto has said a million times over. And a response he now wishes he didn't automatically give.

He would have given the man his number in a heartbeat. If his manager wasn't watching him like a hawk from the break room. God that man freaked him out sometimes.

The white haired man nods and puts a hand over his heart. "Ouch. I'm hurt. Suguru?" He says reading Getos name tag. Geto heart races even more. "Geto Suguru. A lovely name." Geto smiles and then immediately looks away. "Thank you." He mutters.

The man chuckles and nods. "No no, thank you. You don't see such a handsome man every day." He winks and Geto smiles. A smile that makes the other man stop. "Oh woah woah woah!" He takes his sunglasses off and reveals a pair of beautiful blue eyes.

They look almost like a clear sunny day. And Geto swears he could get lost in them. "You gotta warn a man before smiling like that." Geto laughs and begins to ring up his items. "Sorry. I didn't know smiling would startle you." He grins.

"Startle? No that was lethal." Geto smiles again. The man pays for his items and Geto bags them up. "Have a good night sir." He nods. "I definitely will now." He winks again and then leaves.

It is only after the man has payed for his things that Geto realizes who he is. When he is home. In his apartment. Sitting on the couch. With the girls. Then does he remember where he's seen that smile before. Where he's heard that laugh before.

"Oh my fucking God." He mutters and buries his head into his hands. The girls look at him in confusion. Geto looks at the girls and groans. "Gojo fucking Satoru asked for my number." Nanakos jaw drops. And Mimiko laughs.

Then Nanako shots up from her spot on the couch. "As in CEO of Six Eyes Inc. Gojo Satoru!?" Geto nods and Mimiko squeals. "Oh my God! Dad he likes you!" Geto, however, cannot share in their excitement.

And they notice. Of course they do. "Dad? What's wrong?" Geto lays face first onto the couch and loudly groans. Immediately the girls know what this means. "Dad. You cannot be serious."

Geto nods. "I told him I couldn't give out my number." Mimiko gently rubs his back while Nanako just sighs. "It's ok dad. Maybe he'll come back." Nanako on the other hand just goes on about how that was a stupid decision.

That night Geto spends far to much time watching romcoms with the girls. And eating ice cream. As per the girls request. And maybe to drown out the stupid decisions he made.

"Sir!" Cries a startled Ijichi. "You're back!" Gojo looks at him and nods. "Reports?" Ijichi nods and with a shaking voice tells him the results of this years fiscal quarter while Gojo sits at his desk.

Yet Gojo cannot pay attention. He finds himself thinking back to that encouter he had. In that small corner store. He'd passed by it a million times. Seeing that clerk there every time. Today he had finally talked to him. And he can't stop thinking about it.

Or those purple eyes. He takes his sunglasses off and rests his chin on the palm of his hand. A far off look in those blue eyes of his. "I'm attractive right?" Ijichi looks up from the reports and at Gojo. "I mean, I know I am."

Gojo stands up and walks over to the window. "People practically line up for even a moment of my time." Ijichi cannot tell where this conversation is going. "And they would trip all over themselves to give me their numbers, right?" Ijichi nods. Still unable to tell where this is going.

Gojo turns to look at him and Ijichi jumps again. His usual smile looks so forced. And that carefree look in his eyes is gone. "So why is it that I was rejected? Have I lost my touch? Am I not to the public's standards? What is it that is so unappealing about me?"

Ah, there is it. Ijichi thinks over his words very carefully. Gojo has been know to have sort of a temper. "Not at all s-sir! They must be a fool!" Gojo nods and sits at his desk again. "You're right. They must be." Gojo smiles again. "Ah Ijichi, what would I do without you!" That carefree look is back and Ijichi let's out a breath of relief.

But it isn't enough for Gojo. "Maybe I'll just buy the corner store. What was the name again? Doesn't matter. Ijichi? Make a deal with the owner. ASAP, yeah?" Ijichi nods. Gojo has also been rather impulsive. Nothing new of course.

And as for the girls, they have devised a plan to get Gojo and Geto together. It'll just take some time. And a whole lot of patience.

I'm honestly so confused why any time someone says anything about TOWL that isn't super super praising, someone comes along to comment something belittling about the opinion the person shared. Why do you care if one person on the internet didn't love it as much as you did?

I didn't even tag what I wrote and it was a reblog of someone else's post. The reference I made to TOWL was tiny amongst a much longer message. All I even said was that I felt disappointed by it. And you still made the effort to read it all so you could find something to target me about? You make it like people can't breathe near a TV show unless they feel the exact same way you did. It's gatekeeping and it's ridiculous.

I watched The Walking Dead for 12 years before I ever heard from a stranger online. I talked about it with my real life friends. Michonne was my favourite character for years. I watched TOWL before I knew anything about the other spinoffs because that's what came to Now TV first, and I only watched them all in the last few months of this year. I didn't see anything going on online partly because I just wasn't part of the 'fandom' I guess - I was just watching the show offline, and partly bc I wasn't even paying attention to anything about the walking dead for the years between around season 7 and now.

I also don't understand why so many of you always comment stats and article mentions about how many people watched TOWL or a positive thing that was said about it. Do you expect that to change my mind? I just didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped I would. I don't particularly care if someone else voted for it to make a list or whatever. It was just disappointing to me. Dead City was also disappointing to me, but nobody is coming along to imply I'm not allowed to talk about that show? Please literally leave people alone. I really don't know what you think you're achieving by sending messages like this, but from my pov, all it seems to do is create a completely unnecessary divide in the fandom about who likes what character more.

Every time one of you sends a message to me like this, I always say that I'm genuinely happy for you that you got everything you wanted from it. Why do you all have to be so mean to other fans?

I love Michonne. I like Rick. I love Carol. I loved Daryl. I love Danai, I love Andrew Lincoln, and I love Melissa McBride. All things can be true at the same time. I'm glad you can't relate to feeling like one of your favourite characters and actresses is sidelined. I mean, I think it would be more helpful if you tried to empathise with the situation, rather than acting like it's a competition. But I am genuinely glad that Michonne and Danai have been treated with more respect. That is one of the things that I did like about TOWL. I liked that a lot and I LOVE that Danai wrote an episode. When I talk with my friends about what I liked in TOWL, that's something I go on and on about. If danai had been treated badly the way melissa has been treated, I'd be putting my energy into speaking up about that. You don't have to put your energy into being an ally for another woman in the industry, but please do try to stop actively spreading unkindness.

It's really weird how you come here to tell me what I think and feel. I don't even know where to begin with the things you claim about why I didn't like TOWL or what I wish was different about TBOC. I wouldn't want critics to "love the show I do" because I didn't love it? I wouldn't want TBOC to have been anything like TOWL (other than the better treatment of danai bc I would have liked melissa to be treated more like that bc you know, that's just how someone should be treated?). I don't get it. But I really wish you would stop trying to create conflicts where they don't need to be. I try to avoid saying "it's just a TV show" because the way people are treated and represented matters, but when you seem to be trying to create needless conflict like this, I really can only think "it's just a TV show."

Firstly, they include all hits/comments/kudos for Hey, Sister, but I wrote and posted half of that in 2022, so some of these are 2022 stats. Same goes for Nowhere Safer, which first posted near the end of 2023 but concluded in 2024! Augh.

And secondly, if I filter my stats down to 2024, it only shows me hits, comments, and kudos given to fics from 2024. My 2024 fics are little babies. Not only are they new and therefore less well-known, but they're also significantly shorter than, for example, The Return and Nature & Nurture.

It was such a relief to finally feel like I got a little bit more of a handle on Dick. I didn't expect that this year.

I noticed while drafting Cryptkeeper that Jason was being VERY sweary in a way I don't usually write that felt appropriate and inappropriate for the setting at the same time. I finally realized my own internal distinction that he tends to stick to lesser swears when communicating verbally, while his own internal monologue will have a lot more f-bombs.

I love the "Batkids trust Bruce enough to crawl into his bed after a nightmare" but it's a trope that only ever squared with me in an uncomplicated way for Dick. I didn't see Jason falling into it without hesitation even as a younger kid and I really couldn't see Tim doing it, except for maybe much, much, MUCH later. I liked being able to solidify the uncomfortable middle ground for myself in Nowhere Safer.

It's not new knowledge that getting Jason and Bruce to talk honestly to each other is a difficult thing, but MAN has Cryptkeeper really driven it home. Yikes.

2025 Aspirations Or Goals:

Finish Like the Cryptkeeper.

Beef up some of my other pairings. I do want to keep writing my most delicious faves, but I'd like to explore some different combinations.

Tied to that, I'd like to build out my own understanding of some other characters within the Wayne universe. Steph and Duke remain a cipher to me, but so does Kon and Jon and Lois. I don't know that I would write more about them, but understanding them is at least more in that direction.

Tied to that, I'd like to find more new-to-me authors to read. My fic reading has fallen off a cliff for various reasons, but it's always a thrill to find talented writers who tackle the Fam in a cogent and engaging way.

Not necessarily specific to 2025, but I've never officially collaborated on a fic with anyone. That might be fun.

I am finished with S2 of Arcane and I am so very, very well fed. The first season was good, but the second season hit it out of the park.

This probably makes me a terrible person, but I didn't find Jayce all that interesting until really bad things started happening to him 😂. I just don't find plucky young optimistic characters particularly compelling, sorry! But S2 Jayce is delicious. I'm not much of a whump fan normally*, but he's much more entertaining when he's a little (or a lot) fucked up.

(Also this season was just 🙏🏼for all the thirsty bisexuals. I don't understand how everybody got hotter, but I am so not complaining.)

I was also pretty whatever about Jayvik in S1, but S2 makes it much, much more interesting. All the weird fun shit you can do with body manipulation and what have you. I'm glad y'all Jayvik folk got an emotionally satisfying ending.

I really loved what they did with all the fucked-up body and cosmic horror stuff. I wish I had more to say about it other than "Fuck yeah", but oh well.

I remain absolutely delighted by every single female character in this show. (Jinx still sometimes comes across as Target-quality Harley Quinn but I think that's just inevitable at a point.) There are so few shows that treat female characters as this nuanced and interior, which is even more impressive when the cast is this big. And they're all so messy and fucked-up, g o d.

Cait and Mel both remain my blorbos, to absolutely nobody's surprise. I have a lot of feelings about daughters wrestling with the high expectations mothers put on them, especially when it comes to pressure to excel. (I'm an immigrant kid, I never said I was original.)

(Also Cait makes autocracy look good. Cancel me for this if you must, but it's true.)

And that fight with Ambessa at the end? *chefkiss* Love me some battles with badass ladies, especially when two of them team up.

One of the things I've always appreciated about Arcane is the fights feel well-thought out. (They feel respectably difficult considering everybody is, uh, a character in a fighting game.) Mel uses her shield to keep Ambessa's sword from Cait's face, as much as she can. Obviously Cait can't do anything defensive or offensive at this point, but she's still looking for anything to give herself an advantage. So she tears the runes from Ambessa's armor. That's exactly how I would expect her to act given what I know about her**.

Mel. Mellllllllll. My fierce, incredible Mel. I love everything about her arc and would kill many people to get a story about how she navigates being the military and political head of Noxus.

(I was pretty whatever about her and Jayce*** but when he looks at her and says "Nobody could ever stop you from doing what you want to do"? OK fine, you get it.)

I was not expecting a Cait/Vi sex scene but I'm real glad we got one. A++ for having it in a prison cell because they couldn't keep their hands off each other. The gays won real good this season and I am grateful.

I was chatting with a friend recently about the ways antis operate and how damaging their ideology is and I wanted to organize my thoughts about it.

It's one thing to be like "I wish minors wouldn't interact with my work because it's got adult content" (which is not something you can 100% control short of paywalling) but it's another thing ENTIRELY to be like "minors should never look at anything sexual ever and people who think it's okay that they do are secret pedophiles."

Teenagers need to have the safe space to explore their sexuality and figure their shit out and sometimes that place is fandom. Sometimes teens are trying to deal with the fantasies they have about their hot history teacher so they consume teacher/student smut in order to work it out. Sometimes they're wondering what gives them their jollies and are just reading whatever they can to wank to, including incest and rape and other "unsavory" things just so they can get it all figured out.

Sometimes awful things have happened to teens and they're using the avenue of art and fiction to take the power back from their rapist and create a narrative they control where they are working through it safely.

And antis would see all of this and want it fucking destroyed.

I was brought up in fandom by a few of the sweetest older women (adult women!) who took me under their wings and showed me that what I was thinking and writing wasn't bad or wrong or shameful and it was all perfectly sane to have these sexual feelings because nothing makes sense when you're a kid and if you want to write Frerard where Gerard is the hot teacher to Frank's catholic schoolboy in order to deal with your feelings about the sexy sub you just got at your school then that's totally fine.

These trusted adults also comforted me when I was afraid, taught me what boundaries were (please do not actually pursue the sub!), told me what were normal interactions and what I should be wary of (do NOT let the sub pursue you), and they were proud of me as I made my way into the world as a reasonably well-adjusted adult.

Sexuality is weird and messy and whatever makes our pants tighter is all individual and equally weird. Telling teenagers to not seek out porn and to not even speak to adults is just a one-way ticket to growing fucked-up people who don't know how to operate without shame and then we have a resurgence in Catholicism and NOBODY needs that.

And the way that antis rally against this, like teenagers are Pure and Sweet Babies who are being corrupted by the Awful Adults Like Me (who are secretly child diddlers obviously) is just. So fucking damaging.

Imagine trying to handle the way your hormones are firing off at everything and you're just not sure what's going on and instead of a kind adult going "hey we were all freaks at 16 and it's totally normal to be like 'this strange thing is turning me on' I promise" you have some sniveling puritan asshole going "YOU ARE ACTUALLY A SEXUAL PREDATOR IF YOU LIKE THESE THINGS AND YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED AND PUNISHED BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY HARM PEOPLE."

Like. Y'all. I have seen antis claim that people who wrote about/drew rape in order to deal with their own assaults DESERVED IT because they chose to deal with it in this way. I have seen antis tell people they hope they get raped for the fiction they create. They wish death and harm against people who make fiction. Antis literally have a body count over this shit. And yet they want me to believe they're the good guys? Bye.

Antis will argue that it's not normal for people to think about gross and icky things. I argue that Holocaust survivors had sexual fantasies about actual fucking jackboot Nazis.

No one says you have to like everything everyone else does. We have a robust tagging system for a reason. But to behave as if what YOU like is the only thing that is acceptable and everything else is Bad and Wrong is not the business. Kink Tomato exists for a reason. We are all individuals who like different things. Get with it.

Teenagers are in a precarious time of development and if you want to shame them for whatever is going on in their heads then you are the problem, not the solution. Be the kind of adult you needed as a teenager, not some shaming, screaming Puritan trying to pin scarlet A's onto everything because it's sinful. Goody Proctor is just trying to rub one out in peace.

Get with the way fandom has always operated or go away. ACAB means fancop, too.

The battle between you and Mikey began somewhere during the last round of Mario Kart. The pun battle. Raph quit immediately after with a pained: "Not this again!". Donnie held on a while but even he gave up your company. Leo on the other hand was still trying to brave it through it. The fearless leader. Your boyfriend.

"What do you call a fish with no eye," Mikey threw in another pun your way.

"A fsh, come on this one is so stale, you batter be bready to lose," you snorted.

"I am yeast to taste defeat!"

You glanced over at Leo who wore a face of pain and suffering patience.

"Hey, Leo," you leaned his way and he sighed deeply.

"Yes, my love?" he asked slowly. He knew what would happen next.

"Where does a turtle go when it's raining?"

"Home?" His voice was full of pointless hope.

"No," you whispered next to his ear. "A shell-ter."

Mikey behind you snickered. What you didn't expect was the snort coming from Leo. Your eyes widened and you shared a gleeful look with Mikey.

Leo turned his head away from you two, his hand covering his mouth and his eyes shut but his shoulders were shaking.

"Oh honey~" you sing songed.

"No."

"What does a ninja wear to work."

"Stop." He was crying from surpressed laughter.

"Close, it's sneakers." You grinned and without mercy continued. "There are two ninjas. The first ninja looks at the second ninja and says: 'Hey, can you hand me that throwing star over there?' The second ninja says 'shuriken!'"

"Please." He was on the floor, wheeze-laughing.

"Won't stop, can't stop. Did you hear about the pope that wanted to be a ninja? He was a blessing in disguise."

"Why?"

"Cause you pretended god knows how long to not like puns, this is your pun-ishment unless you join the dark side," you said. "Mikey?"

Mikey grinned. "The police got called to the monastery after a ninja was caught throwing people about. They commented: 'He was bad at hiding, but he was great with his nun chucks!'"

Leo inhaled deeply. "What- what did one ninja say to the other ninja after being shot by a arrow?

Your mouth fell open in a pure joy. "What?"

"HELP IVE BEEN NINJURED!" He wheezed again, holding his face.

"Bro!" Mikey threw his hands up in victory. "That was so bad!" He laughed and smacked his brother's shoulder. "Why didn't you say anything earlier!?"

"And ruin his pristine reputation?" You scoffed and giggled. "But why didn't you tell me?"

Leo took deep breath in, sitting on his heels. he rubbed his mouth to relax the muscles. "Your face just lits up when you tell the worst puns mankind ever heard and you look so cute, thinking you got me... I couldn't-"

"Aww, I'd say I'm-," you paused wiggling your eyebrows, "shell-shocked."

Leo coughed trying still to cover up his amusement but nuzzled you lovingly. "Terrible." He hugged you and you climbed his lap for cuddles.

"I'll leave you two pun-birds," Mikey winked at you and got up to find Raph to torment. Or Donnie.

"Thanks Mike," Leo sighed relaxing with you in his arms.

You kissed his cheek. "Hey, Leo?"

"Mhm?"

"Your body is 70% water and I'm thirsty, mind if I take a sip?" You snickered and he glared at you.

"If this means you're going to pun, while we're in bed I'll punt you out," he threatened but the fact he was smiling nullified it.

"Was that a pun?" You teased.

"You'll never know." He kissed your forehead. "But seriously- don't."

1. Were you named after anyone?

Was originally gonna be named Andrea after a ballerina my grandma liked! Sadly no one remembered her well, not even grandma, so I don't know much about her.

My deadname was simply just chosen bc it was easy to pronounce, as well as my chosen name Diego (it's what I would've been called had I been male), although when I chose it for myself I liked the JoJo character Diego Brando so there was some correlation there.

Funnily enough, people think I'm nicknamed Lio after the Promare character, but I hadn't met them yet.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Yesterday. At 11pm. Watching OR3O's One Piece song. It was nostalgic ok

3. Do you have kids?

Nope. There's an absurd amount of reasons I don't want them, although not a single one is because I dislike them. I've had to babysit many kids and they've all been very sweet.

4. What sports do you play/have you played?

Oof, my recent sports is taking my dog for a walk. But I used to like volleyball and kickball! And reluctantly played soccer and did swimming! Sports give me a lot of anxiety and i'm not sure why.

5. Do you use sarcasm?

I do a lot of teasing and lighthearted banter that can sometimes be considered sarcasm?

6. What's the first thing you notice about people?

Their eyes! Or anything outstanding like cool hairstyles or visible tattoos.

With online people, I mostly recognize them by pfp or a vague mental pronunciation of their username.

7. What's your eye color?

Dark brown?? Or black??

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Honestly, whatever makes me think more. Unhappy endings tend to do that more though, so I guess scary movies! But of course it depends on the mood, sometimes I just want a nice story to cheer me up.

9. Any talents?

I've been told I am talented at the piano! And music in general, although most of my skills feel less like talent and more like just studying the thing.

10. Where were you born?

So I was born in the US, in Florida, but my entire family is from Costa Rica and I just happened to be born while my parents were studying abroad. I don't remember much from the US though, I came back to CR with my grandma in my first months because she was less busy than my parents, and then they came to live here again. So in my eyes I've been a true Costa Rican since always hehe

11. What are your hobbies?

Playing the piano! Also drawing sometimes (I like to color more than draw, but unless I get my hands on a coloring book I can't do that unless I draw), playing videogames (mostly RPGs and visual novels), and doomscrolling.

12. Do you have any pets?

YESSSS my beloved dog Mia!!!!!!!!!!! I love her so much, she escaped her abusive home and we found her while walking around a plaza, said hi, and she followed us home. She's been with us for 8 years now and I adore her. Reference below because how can I not show her off:

Excellent question. I forgot but I'm average if that helps!

14. Favorite subject in school?

It changed over the years, in senior year it was English because we had my favorite teacher! I knew him for years because he has a literature club I partook in, so I was very happy to have classes with him. Plus, we saw the Oresteia, which goes tremendously hard especially when your teacher geeks out about all the symbolisms.

Apart from that, computer class! We barely ever had it, and almost had it cut out entirely in senior year, but the few times we did I really enjoyed programming and practicing typing! And when we didn't do anything we could play so.

15. Dream job?

I want to make my own videogame! So I'd say a game developer, although being a part of any videogame, especially RPGs, would be a dream come true.

"Hey Time Buddy!" Gabbro says, strolling into the Museum. Obsidian had neatly turned the area with the Nomai wall into their own little workspace. "Hi Gabbro." Obsidian says distractedly examining the new keyboard on the translator. They were working alone because even Hal was away today fishing with Marl and Spinel. "What you doin'?" Gabbro asks like they don't already know. They take the moment to lean over the back of the wall and watch Obsidian work. They feel a rush of affection for their Time Buddies expression of intense concentration. It was nice to see it for something more mundane than the end of the universe.
