Some ASOMAM sketches ( part 2 )

Princess Leiko of the Jogos Nghai

One of my fave ASOMAM designs ever. For Princess Leiko, I went with more similarly to Empress Borte and Princess Yue vibes - fit for a real Mongolian fantasy Princess. For this design, I went with a Kazakh style hat with Mongol ornaments, a Mongol style riding fancy robe, with stylish Mongol style riding heeled boots ( yes, Mongols regularly wear heeled boots on horseback ). And ofc Princess Leiko regularly wears her long black hair in ornate braids.

Lady Katy Chen of Lenghi

Katy Chen was pretty fun for me to design too! A reason I went with Lenghi is cuz in MCU, she comes from Hunan which is in South of China. And Prince Shang Chi would be in danger if he ran off to Yi Ti when he was a teen, so it's better off for him to be warded in Lenghi for some time.

Anyway for Lady Katy Chen, I imagined her family to be more Southeast Asian/Vietnamese like vibes ( Lenghi is inspired by Southeast Asia ). So I up and modeled this outfit after a pretty Ancient Viet robe that I really like. Katy's wardrobe in this is more simple yet opulent - like graceful fit for a feudal lady, yet also practical and edgy fitting her personality 😁😁😁

Xialing of the Jade Seas

For this belligerent pirate of the Jade Seas, I'm inspired by the Peking Opera warrior costumes and also Ching Shih's suits for this design. She actually often wears her shorter hair in simple buns for practicality 😁😁

Dowager Queen Ramonda

All hail the Dowager Queen of Wakanda herself! I HAD to draw her iconic purple outfit in Wakanda forever - that outfit SCREAMS business to those vibranium robbers, indeed. 😎😎😎

Queen Nakia of Wakanda

Hail the Queen of Wakanda! Like in MCU, Nakia often wears green and blue with more watery elements ( akin to her heritage in the River Tribe of Wakanda ). So I was inspired by a green mission outfit of hers in Black Panther 1 to draw this fit.

Also the crown on her head is inspired by an artwork of Queen Makeda of Sheba ( who becomes a style inspo for my costume designs for Ramonda, Nakia and Shuri in ASOMAM ) that I came across. 😁

Princess Shuri of Wakanda

I was wondering whether to go for short or long hair for Shuri and Nakia in this since they both look so good in short and long hair. And then I went ahead with their hairs in BP 1

That being said, I envisioned Shuri's wardrobe to be kinda like an African fantasy version of Princess Leia's fits, so ofc that goes with her hairstyle in this drawing. ( Namor definitely likes it 😁😁 )

Lady Gwen Stacy/Spider Gwen

For Lady Gwen, I took some inspos from Astrid Hofferson when designing her shieldmaiden fits. As Spider Gwen, she covers her face in a face mask hood ( like Miles and Peytr ). Outside her shieldmaiden fits, she wears practical and stylish dresses that allows for much movement

Lady Laura

This is really fun for me to design cuz I went with a more Medieval Soft boho vibe when designing Laura in ASOMAM. So ofc, the flowers from the Reach are what she sometimes wears

Jean Grey of the X Council

And finally, Lady Jean Grey of the X Council! I went ahead to model her designs in ASOMAM on the paintings of Italian Renaissance ladies. And she often dresses in red and gold and flame/solar fits ( yeah, Scott Summers definitely approves this fit ) 😁😁😁

Aaaaand that's all for now! I may do more ASOMAM moodboards and sketches later, as I continue reading this wonderful series that I think DESERVES to be an animated series!
