"so...", you say, playing with whatever is in front of you.
"so", minghao repeats on the other side of the line, his voice sounding so soft.
"is it time to say bye?"
"it doesn't have to be if you don't want to", he sincerely says.
minghao has been on the phone with you for over 2 hours now. he told you everything about how the soundcheck went, how his members accepted to record this tiktok with him for his birthday, then the show, then the weverse live...
it's clearly too late where he's at. he clearly needs to rest, recharge his energy before going on with the tour. still, he doesn't even think of hanging up - and he hopes you don't too.
"you sure? you must be tired."
"that i am", he confesses. "but i don't mind talking to you. actually i think i only talked about myself, i'm sorry. please tell me how your day went."
"nothing much", and you mean it. "just work, domestic chores, an asshole cutting the line at the grocery store."
"hope i run into him when i get back."
that makes you laugh, as always.
"i hope too."
it's quiet for a bit. minghao likes to listen to you breathing, it soothes him. and as he starts to hum some unknown melody, you realize his mere presence - even though not physically - soothes you too.
"i might not always say this", you begin. "but i love you. very, very much. i hope you're always happy, my myungho."
"ya...", he chuckles. "using the korean name now too?"
you laugh too.
"it suits you."
"you suit me", minghao sighs happily. "i love you too. thank you for being with me."
"i promise i'll be, for as long as you'll have me."
"great. forever it is, then."
a/n: happy birthday, minghao. i truly hope you're always happy and i wish for your life to be even greater than it already is. thanks for welcoming me into this diamond life, i could never regret becoming a carat when i did because of your talent, your beauty, and when it brought me so much joy. i love you, the8. â€ïžđž

rival fashion designer!minghao
â synopsis: where minghao flexes his fashion awards whenever your brand competes against him during fashion week. â WC: 3k â WARNINGS: explicit language, smut, reader uses a transparent clothing (just like rihanna in oscar x swarovski), oral (f. receiving) ENORMOUS DICK!MINGHAO, slight face slap, mentions of choking on a cock, penetrative sexâor trying to.
look, you werenât trying to start beef with minghao. you donât even know why the dude hates you so much. okay, maybe you said one thing about his fall line looking like it got snatched off the clearance rack at an IKEA. but that was a year ago. and also? you were drunk and kinda bitter âcause your show got bumped for his stupid avant-garde puff-sleeve renaissance clowncore shit.
but now, every fashion week is like a personal vendetta for him to humble you. youâll be vibinâ, sipping your overpriced latte in the designer lounge, and this man will just stroll in, decked out in some vintage runway piece that costs more than your annual budget, flashing that âi won best emerging designer againâ smirk like itâs a fucking weapon. and then heâll throw some casual shit like:
âoh, y/n, is that your collection over there? i thought they were setting up for the kidâs line showcase.â
[...]
so this year, you swore you wouldnât let him get in your head. youâd play it cool, professional, unbothered. except you walk into your studio late one night, the day before your big runway debut, and this man is just there. sitting on your worktable. wearing a pearl-studded harness and leather pants so tight it should be a crime.
you freeze, halfway through the door, holding the iced coffee you begged your intern to grab five minutes before starbucks closed. âwhat the fuck are you doing here?â
minghao barely glances up from his phone. âyour assistant let me in.â
traitor.
âwhy?â you slam the coffee on the counter, praying your voice doesnât shake. the audacity of him just existing in your space is enough to make your blood boil.
he stands, slow as hell, like heâs got all the time in the world. heâs tallâannoyingly tallâso when he steps close, youâre immediately at a disadvantage. but you refuse to back down.
âjust wanted to check out the competition,â he says, eyes flicking lazily over the chaos of fabric swatches and half-finished sketches strewn across the room. âcute line. very... simple.â
âfuck you, hao,â you snap, crossing your arms. âitâs called âminimalism.â not that youâd know anything about taste.â
he laughs, soft and low, the kind of sound that creeps under your skin and lingers there. âoh, i have plenty of taste. i just donât need to keep it basic to get attention.â
and hereâs the thing: you hate how much he gets to you. heâs a smug asshole with an overinflated ego, but heâs also stupidly talented, and you canât ignore the fact that his lines always sell out in under a day. or how his press coverage makes yours look like a local craft fair feature.
but what really gets you is how hot he looks right now, with his ridiculous cheekbones and the glint of that tiny silver chain peeking out from under his collar. itâs disgusting. you hate it.
youâre about to throw a cutting remark his way, something about how heâs overcompensating with all that jewelry, but he beats you to it.
âyou know,â he murmurs, stepping even closer, âyouâd look good in my designs.â
your brain short-circuits. âexcuse me?â
âif you ever want to elevate your style...â he trails off, dragging his gaze down the length of your body like itâs a runway.
âyou are so full of shit,â you hiss, but thereâs no heat behind it, because your stupid traitorous brain is suddenly imagining what itâd feel like to have his hands on you.
he smirks, all teeth and danger, leaning in so close you can smell his expensive cologne. âmaybe. but youâre thinking about it now, arenât you?â
you donât answer.
[...]
the next morning, youâre running on zero sleep, fueled by pure spite and caffeine, but your runway show? flawless. models everywhere, hair spray choking the air, seamstresses practically sewing on skin âcause the deadlines were that tight. and you were doing a thousand fucking things at once.
fixing a hemline here, shouting at a makeup artist thereââno, not clean girl aesthetic, weâre going full grunge today, wake up!ââall while struggling to get yourself into the swarovskied transparent gown you planned to wear for the night.
no bra, because tits were the least controversial thing in fashion. and the way the crystals draped over your skin looking likew pure art. nipples out and proud, paired with modern curls swirled to perfection and makeup that screamed chaos-but-make-it-glam.
by the time your collection hit the runway, your nerves were shredded. but watching the models strut, each piece shining under the lights... fucking worth it.
and then, the finale: your dress sweeping dramatically across the stage as you closed the parade. you bowed to the crowd, letting the cameras and whispers soak in every inch of you, and as you turned to leave, you felt it.
minghaoâs sharp eyes.
you caught his eyes just as they traveled the length of youâfrom the swirl of your hair, to the unapologetic sharpness of your nipples under the crystals, to the shimmer of your dress, down to the towering heels on your feet.
you just smirked to yourself as you headed backstage, knowing full well your collection didnât just crawl under his skin this time. it slithered under his flesh, wrapped tight around his ribs, and squeezed.
[...]
minghaoâs models stormed the runway like it was their goddamn birthright. and of course, you watched. no designer worth their silk ignored the competition, and minghao wasnât just competition, he was a walking masterclass in making everyone feel like second place.
he closed his show with his usual flare, stepping out like he already knew the applause was his. fast-forward two designers later, and the nominations for the fashion academy awards started rolling in. you didnât have to look to know minghao had already claimed half the early awards.
you watched him backstage through narrowed eyes as he balanced four trophiesâtwo tucked in his arms, two in his handsâposing for a picture with that smug-ass smile. you knew that pic was already blowing up on his Instagram. your jaw clenched, nails digging into your palm as the last nominations were announced.
and then, plot twist of the year:
your name came up five times.
designer of the year: you.
new vision in fashion: you.
collection of the year: your brand.
runway innovation: your brand.
showstopper of the year: your brand.
walking out with those five heavy-ass awards in your arms? victory tasted better than champagne. your models and team practically swarmed you, hyping you up âcause they knew how much blood, sweat, and tears went into this collection.
but what you really wanted... minghao. definitely minghao. minghao, in your line of sight. because after all the times he flaunted his wins like a smug bastard, you wanted him to feel this.
and lucky for you, fate delivered.
you spotted him in the back hallway, leaning against the wall, scrolling through his phone. clearly, he hadnât heard the last nominees. his head snapped up when your heels echoed through the space.
âoh, hey, hao,â you called out, voice sweet as honey but sharp as glass. you stopped just short of him, shifting the five trophies in your arms so they pressed against your chest. the weight of them pushed your tits up just enough to catch his eyes.
âlooks like Iâve got... a plus one on you this year.â you smirked, shaking the awards a little for good measure, the motion making the crystals on your dress catch the dim hallway light.
his eyes flicked downâbrief, subtle, but not subtle enoughâand then back up, his expression neutral, but you could feel the shift in his ego.
âcongrats,â he said, the word clipped like it physically hurt him.
âthanks, babe,â you purred, turning on your heel with a sway of your hips. âsee you next season. maybe.â
and with that, you left, letting the click of your heels carry the weight of your victory.
[...]
days later, you were lounging in minghaoâs big leather chair, legs crossed up on his table, showing the expensive ass high heels you always wore. his assistant had let you in with barely a question, and you werenât one to waste an opportunity.
when he finally walked in, his eyes narrowed immediately. âwhat the hell are you doing here?â
ârelax,â you drawled, leaning back like his office was a spa. âyour assistant said I could wait. guess they like me more than you.â
he folded his arms, leaning against the doorframe. âdidnât think youâd show your face here after the other night. thought youâd be busy polishing all those trophies.â
you grinned, slow and smug. âoh, i polished them. just thought iâd stop by to see how youâre doing. must be hard, you knowâlosing.â
his jaw tightened, but he didnât rise to the bait. instead, he stepped closer, looming over you. âyou done?â
ânot even close,â you said, standing up to match his energy. you stopped just shy of his chest, tipping your chin up. âbut donât worry, hao. iâll let you borrow a trophy sometime if you really need the validation.â you patted his shoulder.
he scoffed, his lips curling into something between a smirk and a sneer. âyou know, i like your attitude.â
you raised an eyebrow. âyeah? you must, considering how much you stalk me every season.â
âmaybe thatâs why we should work together.â
you laughed, loud and sharp, tossing your head back. âoh, thatâs rich. you? work with me? what, so you can take credit for my ideas and call it a âcollaborationâ?â
he tilted his head, eyes narrowing slightly. âiâm serious. weâd be unstoppable.â
for a second, you almost believed him. âunstoppable, huh? what makes you think iâd even want to work with you?â
âbecause you like the challenge... admit it. you love it when i push you.â
âyouâre intolerable.â
âand yet,â he murmured, stepping so close you could feel the heat radiating off him, âyou havenât left yet.â
your laugh came out breathy this time, your pulse quickening as his hand grazed the curve of your hip. âyou think Iâm staying here for you? please. your assistant let me in, remember?â
âsure,â he said. his thumb traced slow circles against your side, almost lazy. âbut youâre still here.â
you were about to snap back with something cutting, something to wipe that stupid smirk off his face, but then he tilted your chin up with two fingers, his gaze locked on yours like a predator sizing up prey.
âstop thinking,â he whispered, leaning in just enough for your lips to almost touch. âyou might actually enjoy yourself.â
his lips were soft and plump, moving against yours so fucking good that felt unfair. his hand slid to the small of your back, pulling you flush against him, and you couldnât help the soft moan that escaped.
your hands found his chest, the fabric of his shirt warm under your fingertips as you pushed him slightly, breaking the kiss with a smirk. âyouâre bold, iâll give you that.â
âyouâre still thinking,â he teased, catching your bottom lip between his teeth before pulling back.
your hands slid up to his shoulders, gripping just enough to feel the flex of his muscles. you threatened to sit on his table.
his eyes widened slighty, his hands immediately grabbing your ass to lift you up, making you yelp. âdonât!â
âwhat? scared iâll break it?â you teased, wrapping your legs around his waist.
he places the needles that were spread lazily on the table, inside of a box. he turned, his grip firm as he carried you a few steps and sat you on a nearby armchair.
âthere were needles on that table, genius,â he scolded, his tone sulky but his fingers tracing slow lines along your thighs. âyouâd be bleeding before I even got started.â
âaww,â you cooed, dragging your nails down his neck. âyou worried about me, hao?â
âno,â he muttered, kneeling, dipping his head to kiss along your jawline, his teeth grazing just enough to make you arch towards him. âjust donât want to ruin my night with a trip to the hospital.â
your laugh turned into a soft moan as his lips found the spot just below your ear. âguess youâre not as heartless as you act.â
he pulled back slightly, his smirk sharper than ever. âyou talk too much.â
you pulled him in for another kiss, your tongues colliding this time. when you tried to take control, tilting your head for a deeper angle, he pulled back just enough to make you chase him.
minghaoâs hands were firm on your thighs, his thumbs brushing against your skin like he wasnât about to wreck you in the middle of his office. his eyes dragged down, lingering on the way your skirt was pushed up, the space between your legs bare and unapologetic.
he clicked his tongue, a smirk pulling at the corner of his lips. âno panties, huh?â he said. âcame here like this?â
âwhat can I say?â you shot back, shifting slightly so his hands pressed harder against your skin. âi had a feeling youâd end up on your knees.â
his smirk deepened, his fingers tightening slightly as he leaned in, close enough for you to feel his breath. he pressed your legs further onto the armrests, spreading you wider, his hands splayed like he wanted to leave imprints.
his tongue flicked out, close enough to make you tenseâbut he didnât touch you. instead, he pulled back, his eyes locking with yours as a smirk tugged at his lips.
he leaned in again, his tongue brushing so close you could feel the warmth from his breath, but once again, he pulled back just as you tilted your hips forward.
âhao..â you warned.
âwhat?â he teased, his lips hovering over your folds.
your hands gripped the armrests as you glared down at him. âif you donât stop playing, i swearââ
he cut you off with a broad, strong lick, dragging his tongue from your entrance, through your folds, and up to your clit in one unbroken suck. your head fell back as a gasp tore from your lips.
âthat shut you up,â he muttered, his voice muffled as he dipped lower, his tongue swirling around your entrance before moving back up. âneedy much?â
âshut up and do it again,â you shot back, your voice sharper than the way your thighs trembled under his grip.
and he did the same. your clit throbbing at the rough skin of his tongue, making you melt on his armchair, he smiled at the sight, he knew how a good head felt after months dealing with needles and sparkly cloths.
his lips latched onto your folds, sucking them into his mouth before he pulls back just slightly, his tongue flicking against your clit in quick, teasing strokes. you let out a pornographic moan, before your clap a hand on your mouth, remembering the team outside the office. he chuckled darkly, his hands tightening on your thighs to hold you still. his lips wrapping around your clit again. this time, he sucked it fully into his mouth, his tongue flicking against it as his eyes flicked up to yours.
âyouâre so good at this, hmmâfuuuck!â you said, your nails drowning in the leather of the armchair. âyou mustâve practiced on a lot of other girls, huh?â
his eyes narrowed slightly, and his teeth grazed your clit just enough to make you wwhimper. âjealous?â he asked, his voice smug, though he didnât stop the relentless motion of his tongue.
âplease,â you shot back, though the way your breath hitched betrayed you as he did a zig-zag on your bud with the tip of his otngue. âyouâre better when youâre silent.â
he smirked against you, his lips curving as he pulled back just enough to speak. âthen shut me up.â
your fingers tangled in minghaoâs hair, tugging him closer, harder, until his face was buried against your pussy. his groan vibrated through you, desperate, and his hands clamped down on your thighs to steady himself as you rolled your hips against his mouth.
âthatâs it... mhmm, just like that...â
he obeyed, his head bobbing as his tongue slid against you in broad, wet strokes, his lips sealing around your clit every few seconds to suck, deep and rhythmic. the wet, obscene sounds filled the room, and your nails scraped lightly against his scalp as you held him there, guiding him exactly how you wanted.
the heat in your core coiled tighter, and you barely had time to register your orgasm hit.
your back arched, your mouth falling open as moans spilled out shamelessly. your hips rolled against his face as you came, and minghao didnât stopânot for a second. he worked you through it, sucking and licking as though he felt your climax before you did.
he only pulled back when you began to squirm, your breath coming in sharp gasps as overstimulation took hold. his lips and chin were slick as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, his eyes glinting as he looked up at you.
âhad fun?â he asked, sarcastically.
you gave a breathless laugh, your chest heaving as you leaned back in the chair. âyou talk too much for someone who just spent five minutes swallowing my pussy.â
his smirk widened, and he stood, his hands braced on the armrests as he leaned down, his face inches from yours. âand you talk too much for someone whoâs about to beg me to fuck her.â
your gaze flicked to his lips, and then lowerâto the bulge straining against his pants. âbig words,â you said. âletâs see if you can back them up.â
his hands slid to your thighs, lifting you effortlessly as he walked you back toward the deskâno needles this time. you didn't even had time to register what was happening before your skirt was pushed higher, his fingers brushing over your thighs as he settled you on the edge.
his hand worked his belt, the clink of the buckle making you clench around nothing.
âthis isnât gonna be quick,â he said as he freed himself, the sheer size of him making your breath catch. it was big both in length and girth.
you swallowed hard.
ârelax... mhmmâ
he teased your entrance with the tip, sliding it slowly against you, and the stretch was immediate, even as he slightly pressed in. your breath hitched, your hands gripping the edge of the desk as he pushed forward, achingly slow, giving you time to adjust.
ânghâfuck!â you gasped, your voice breaking as he filled you inch by hard inch.
âbreathe,â he murmured, his tone gentle despite the tension in his body. mouth glued on yours to make sure he feels your puffs of air.
âtryingâ
he paused, his hands tightening on your hips as he leaned down, his lips brushing your ear. âyouâre okay,â he whispered. âjust breathe for me.â
you hiccuped, your chest rising and falling in shallow gasps as your body struggled to adjust.
âthere you go,â he murmured, his lips brushing against your jaw as he waited âgood girl. just like that.â
you exhaled slowly, your body relaxing slightly helping him to slid in further, the fullness stealing the air from your lungs.
your hands gripped his arms, your nails digging into his skin as he finally bottomed out, his body pressed flush against yours.
âfuck,â he muttered, his voice tight as he buried his face in your neck. âyouâreâso fucking tight.â
you swallowed hard, your head tilting back as you tried to catch your breath. âyouâreâso fucking big.â
he pulled back slightly, his eyes meeting yours as a smirk tugged at his lips. âthink you can take it?â
your breath hitched, and you nodded, your hands sliding to his back as you wrapped your legs around his waist. âtry me.â
minghao hips pulls back just an inch before thrusting forward experimentally. the sound that left your lips was somewhere between a moan and a strangled gasp, your nails biting into his shoulders as your body clenched around him.
he paused, a smug smile tugging at his lips as he tilted his head to the side, his eyes flicking over your face. âyeah, knew thatâd happen.â
âdonâtââ your breath hitched as he moved just slightly, a tiny shift that made you clutch at him even harder. âdonât fucking smile like that.â
his laugh was quiet, he leaned down, his forehead brushing against yours. âwhy not? youâre almost cummin already.â
âiâm notââ the words caught in your throat as he slid just a little deeper, your body trying desperately to adjust to his size.
ânot what?â he asked, his tone playful as he stilled again, waiting for you to catch your breath.
ânotâcummingâ you managed, though your voice shook with the effort of speaking.
âhmm.â his thumb grazed your clit, circling it trying to soothe your nerves. âthen why are you holding on to me likethat?â
you glared at him, though the effect was probably ruined by the way your mouth fell open with a gasp as his thumb pressed down just slightly harder.
your body tensed as he began to move again, sliding in slowly, each inch dragging against you in a way that made your head fall back. the wet squelch of your body adjusting to his girth filled the room, obscenelly.
âshit,â he muttered, his voice tight as he wrapped his arm around your waist, holding you steady. âyouâre soâtight. feels like youâre trying to squeeze me out.â
âmaybe i am.â
he laughed softly âyouâre all talk,â he murmured, his thumb still circling your clit. âthat pussy is begging for me.â
âhao,â you whispered, your hands clutching at his arms as your legs tightened around his waist. âiâfuck, i canâtââ
âyou can,â he said softly, his lips moving against your neck. âbreathe for me, baby. youâve got this.â
you exhaled shakily, your chest rising and falling against his as you tried to relax, tried to let the tension in your body melt away. his thumb pressed a little harder against your clit, insistent, coaxing pleasure to override the discomfort.
âthatâs it,â he murmured, his voice soft as his arm tightened around your waist. âjust like that. let me in.â
your head fell back, your eyes fluttering shut as he finally slid deeper, his hips pressing flush against yours. the sensation stole the breath from your lungs, and your fingers dug into his shoulders, desperate for something to anchor you.
âyou okay?â
you nodded weakly, your hands sliding up to grip his hair as you whispered, âmove.â
he chuckled as he pressed a kiss to your temple. ânot yet.â
your eyes snapped open, frustration bubbling in your chest as you glared at him. âhaoââ
ârelax,â he murmured, his thumb circling your clit again, making you cry out slyly. âiâm not gonna ruin you all at once. gotta make sure you can take it.â
âi can,â
âweâll see,â he said, his tone smug as he finally, finally pulled back, his cock dragging against you.
âhao, justâfuck me already.â
his laugh was quiet. âyouâre not ready for that yet, lookââ he roll his hips, making you hiccup again. âbut donât worryâIâll get you there.â
âhow about you?â you ask, feeling your orgasm building up as he circled the thumb faster, your hips rolling slightly, weak, like the cock inside you was to heavy to make you roll them freely.
âi can get off just by looking at this pretty face...â he slaps your cheek weakly, twice, making you squeeze around him. âlisten to what i'm telling you⊠you're still going to model for my brand.â he chuckles.
âiâd rather choke to death than work with your brand.â
âwhy donât you choke on something else, then?â

â§.* talk too much; kmg
synopsis:  a charismatic but slightly awkward mingyu, whose tendency to talk too much creates hilariously unpredictable situations. one early morning he spots a stranger sitting in the corner of the cafĂ©âsomeone who's quiet, mysterious, and a little intimidating. drawn to her aura, he strikes up a conversation. but every time he opens his mouth, his words seem to betray him.
paring: mingyu x fem! reader.Â
genre:strangers2whatever (hehe) Â
warning/s:mentions of substances (alcohol)Â some minor sexy stuff, but not much really.
word count:Â 11k
content:Â . non-idol idolings, awkward over sharer mingyu.
note: non rlly edited prob weird typos, xo. ( there's a part 2 in my drafts fully bc I couldn't stop writing about these two)
The bell above the cafĂ© door jingled as the stranger stepped inside. Mingyu, standing in front of the register, halfway through recounting a story to his favorite barista about the time he accidentally adopted a stray cat. He paused mid-sentence, caught off guard by the strangerâs presence. Â
She was unlike anyone who usually wandered into the cozy cafĂ©âa stark contrast to the warm, inviting space. Dressed in muted tones, she carried an air of quiet confidence and mystery, expression unreadable. The girl didnât look around or hesitate, walking directly to a table in the far corner as though she had been here a hundred times before. Â
Mingyu watched her settle in, his curiosity piqued. The girl placed a cherry red leather-bound journal on the table, opened it to a blank page, and began scribbling furiously. Â
âShe doesn't look like sheâs here for the coffee,â Mingyu muttered to himself. Â
Before he could stop himself, he grabbed the notepad behind the counter from his stunned regular bar keep and approached the table. Â
âHi there,â he said brightly. âWelcome to uh, Black Rabbit. Can I get you something? Coffee? Tea? One of the world-famous muffins? Well, theyâre not world-famous yet, but I think they are. Anywayââ Â
The stranger looked up, her sharp eyes meeting his. Mingyu froze for a moment, forgetting whatever it was he was going to say next. Â
âBlack coffee,â the stranger said curtly. Her voice was low, measured, and entirely unimpressed. Â
âGot it. One black coffee. Simple. Classic. You know, I respect that. Some people come in here and order drinks with so many extra syrups and toppings itâs like theyâre trying to create a dessert in disguise. But youâyouâre all about the essentials.â Â
The girl raised an eyebrow. âIs there a point to this? Also do you even work here?â Â
Mingyu blinked, realizing he was rambling. âUh, nope! No point. Just making conversation. Iâll get that coffee for you. And, uh, no I donât. Just helping out.â Â
He turned and practically sprinted back to the counter, silently berating himself. âCool, Mingyu. It's really cool.â Â
When he returned with the coffee, he found her staring out the window, lost in thought. He set the cup down gently, but instead of leaving, he spoke again. Â
âHey, I donât mean to pry, but are you... writing something? You looked really focused earlier. Like, next-level focused. Are you an author? Or maybe a secret spy writing down your next mission?â Â
The stranger sighed, looking back at him with an exasperated expression. âDo you always ask this many questions?â Â
âOnly when Iâm curious,â Mingyu replied with a grin. âAnd Iâm very curious about you. Youâve got that whole mysterious, âIâve got secretsâ vibe going on.â Â
The girl finally gave a hint of a smile, though it was barely noticeable. âMaybe I do.â Â
That small flicker of amusement was all the encouragement Mingyu needed. âOkay, so you are a spy. Or an undercover rockstar. Oh! Or aââ Â
âIâm sorry, but Iâm trying to work,â she interrupted, though her tone was softer now. Â
Mingyu took a step back, raising his hands. âGot it. Iâll leave you to it. But if you need anythingâlike a refill, a snack, or a friendly faceâIâm your guy.â Â
âBut you said you donât work here.âÂ
As he walked away, the stranger shook their head, a faint smile tugging at their lips. Mingyu may have talked too much, but there was something disarmingly genuine about him that made it hard to stay annoyed. Â
Heading up to grab his own cup from the counter, Mingyu stole another glance at her and couldnât help but wonder what kind of story they were carryingâand whether heâd somehow become a part of it.
The next afternoon, the cafĂ© was busier than usual, filled with a mix of students typing away on their laptops and a few regulars deep in conversation. Mingyu was at the counter, enthusiastically explaining to another regular Mrs. Park how the secret to perfect coffee lay in "a gentle pour and a mindful attitude," when the bell jingled again. Â
Mingyu's head snapped up, and sure enough, the girl from yesterday was back. This time, she seemed even more aloof, her eyes scanning the room briefly before settling back on her spot in the corner. She didn't notice Mingyuâs stare as she quietly set down her cherry red journal and began flipping through its pages. Â
Mingyu found himself momentarily frozen in place, suddenly aware of how *awkward* his last encounter had been. "Don't be weird this time. Don't overdo it," he muttered to himself, but his mind was already spiraling into potential conversation starters. What if he said something sheâd find interesting? What if he said too much? Â
With a deep breath, Mingyu stepped away from the counter. He was *determined* to keep things casual. Â
âHey, you,â Mingyu called out, walking toward her table, âback again, huh? Is the coffee that good, or are you just here for a change of scenery?â Â
The girl looked up from her journal, her eyes scanning him briefly before she spoke in her usual flat tone. âJust getting out of the house for a while.â Â
Mingyu nodded, trying to read the mood. âYeah, I get that. Sometimes, you just need a little break from your own four walls. I mean, my walls are full of stuffâvinyl records, old concert tickets, a couple of questionable cat sweaters... but still.â Â
Her lips twitched, just for a second. âA questionable cat sweater?â Â
Mingyu grinned. âYeah. Itâs got a picture of a cat wearing glasses, trying to look intellectual. But honestly, I think it just makes the cat look like itâs about to take over the world. It was for my work Christmas party, but Iâd be lying if I said I havenât worn it more than once.â Â
There was a moment of silence, and then the corner of her mouth curled up slightly. âIâd like to see that.â Â
Mingyuâs heart did a little flip. Sheâs smiling. "Itâs not for sale. Only available to cat enthusiasts who appreciate the depth of their feline overlords."Â Â
Her smile lingered for just a second longer before it faded back into the neutral expression she wore so often. âIâll take your word for it,â she said softly, her fingers tapping lightly on the table. Â
Mingyu felt a brief hesitation. Maybe it was better not to press too hard. He had a tendency to run with a conversation until it got awkward, and right now, the conversation felt almost... comfortable. Â
"So," Mingyu started, his mind racing for something else to say, âIâm guessing youâre writing more top-secret spy notes today? Or is it a shocking revelation about how you once got lost in a supermarket for three hours?â Â
The girlâs eyebrow arched. âThatâs an oddly specific guess.â Â
Mingyu shrugged. âYou'd be surprised how many people get lost in supermarkets. But, you know, it's all about the aisles and the lights. Before you know it, you're trapped in the frozen food section, wondering how you got there in the first place.â Â
She watched him for a moment, then laughed softlyâa real laugh this time, not just a polite chuckle. It was low, but genuine, and it made Mingyuâs chest feel lighter than it had in days. Â
âOkay, Iâll admit thatâs sort of funny, considering I assume youâre speaking from experience,â she said, surprising him even more. âBut no, Iâm not writing about that. Just...â She paused for a moment, her fingers stopping their restless tapping. âJust... trying to work through some things.â Â
The shift in her tone was subtle, but Mingyu could feel the change. For the first time, he wasnât just a guy talking too much. He was hearing her in a way that felt real, as if she was opening up to him without fully realizing it. Â
âI get it,â Mingyu said, his voice softening. âSometimes you just need a space to think things through. Like, I talk on the radio every nightâway too much sometimesâbut I guess it helps me sort out my own head.â Â
The girl looked up at him then, her eyes lingering on his face with a quiet intensity that made his heart race. Â
âYou talk on the radio?â she asked. Â
Mingyu chuckled awkwardly. âYeah. You could say Iâm kind of a big deal, I mean here anyway to people who know meâ He made a vague gesture to the cafĂ© around them. âBut only to the people who are really into weird facts and random stories. Like, one time I told my listeners about how I accidentally ended up with two lunch boxes after a miscommunication with a vending machine. Iâm not proud of it, but hey, it makes for a great segment." Â
She tilted her head slightly. âWhat else do you talk about?â Â
Mingyu opened his mouth to reply, but then realized he was getting carried away. "Well, I don't want to bore you with my radio segment. Not everyone's cup of tea."Â Â
She looked thoughtful for a second. âIâd listen to you.â Â
His heart skipped. âReally?â Â
âMaybe.â She leaned back in her chair, her gaze still steady. âIf you were actually interesting enough.â Â
Mingyu burst out laughing. âOkay, ouch. But Iâll take that as a challenge.â Â
She shrugged, and for a moment, Mingyu just stood there, unsure whether heâd said something that was too much or if she was just being her usual, unreadable self. Â
Finally, he broke the silence with a casual, âIf you do end up listening, Iâll make sure to talk about my cat sweater for at least twenty minutes. Thatâll make it worth your while.â Â
A flash of amusement crossed her face. âIâll hold you to that.â Â
Mingyu smirked, making a mental note to talk in depth about his weird festive sweater, âAre you ever going to tell me your name?âÂ
âIf youâre worth it.â A challenge from the enigma of a girl.Â
âOkay, Iâm Mingyu, by the way.âÂ
She just smiled as he walked off and went back to her black coffee without another word.Â
Later in the night, the rain hitting the pavement outside of his office he watched as he had just finished setting up for his radio show. He spoke into the microphone, he could still feel the weight of his earlier conversation with the girl in the cafĂ©. Something about her, her quiet mystery, had left him thinking, and for the first time in a long while, he felt calm on air. Â
âGood evening, everyone,â Mingyuâs voice boomed through the mic. âIâm your host, Mingyu, here to take you through the night with some extremely random thoughts in between your hot hit countdown. But first, letâs talk about something near and dear to my heart: cats. Yes, thatâs right. Cats. And how, in some cultures, theyâre considered mystical beings that can sense your innermost thoughts. Which, if you ask me, explains a lot about why my cat is currently judging me for eating cereal at 11 PM.â Â
He paused, chuckling to himself as he imagined the girl sitting in the corner of the cafĂ©, maybe listening to him right now. Â
âAnyway,â he continued, leaning into the mic. âIf anyone out there has a cat sweater as legendary as mine, Iâd love to hear about it. Or if youâve ever gotten lost in a supermarket, accidentally adopting an extra lunchbox, send me a message. You know, just the things we all need to talk about. Letâs connect, guys. Letâs keep it real. If youâre watching us live right now on Youtube leave your stories in the chat or donât hesitate to hit me up on twitter at gyunation.â Â
The next morning, the cafĂ© was as cozy as ever, with soft music playing in the background and a few early risers getting their caffeine fix. Mingyu was ordering coffee when the door opened again. He turned, already knowing who it was before she even walked in. Â
The girl from the had returned. She gave him a small, knowing smile as she walked in and headed toward her usual table. Â
Mingyuâs heart skipped a beat. âI didnât expect to see you here again.â Â
She raised an eyebrow. âI said Iâd hold you to it.â Â
He blinked. âWait, what?â Â
âYouâre wearing your cat sweater today,â she said with a hint of a smile, her eyes glinting. âAnd Iâm listening to you. Now, tell me about the mystical powers of cats, Mingyu.â Â
Mingyu couldnât help it. He grinned. Heâd found a way to connect, just like heâd always hopedâthrough the stories, through the weirdness, and maybe, just maybe, through the unexpected bonds that only seemed to form when you werenât trying so hard. Â
âIf you finally tell me your name.âÂ
âItâs y/n.âÂ
Mingyu blinked, a mix of surprise and excitement flickering in his eyes. "Y/N," he repeated slowly, as if savoring the sound of it. It was simple, yet it felt like a small victory. There was something about hearing her name that made everything feel a little less mysterious, a little more real. Â
âI didnât expect it to be so... normal,â Mingyu said with a half-joking grin, but there was a warmth in his tone that made the words feel genuine. "I was kind of hoping for something cooler, like... I don't know, Phoenix or something. Or even Astrid, that wouldâve been a great name." Â
Y/N raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile playing at the corners of her mouth. âYouâve been thinking about this, havenât you?â Â
Mingyu let out a short, embarrassed laugh. âMaybe. I get random ideas sometimes. Like, when I was younger, I was convinced my name shouldâve been something cooler, like Max or Axel. But then I realized I was always just Mingyu. And now, well, Iâm starting to like it." He hesitated for a second. âIâm starting to like the name y/n too.â Â
There was a flicker of something in her expression, something soft and fleeting, before it was replaced with her usual composed demeanor. âIâm glad to know you like it. Mingyu is honestly a nicer name than Axel. Though, youâre still in trouble. Iâm waiting for my cat wisdom.â Â
Mingyu nodded enthusiastically, happy to follow the new flow of their conversation. He slid into the chair across from her, trying to hide the fact his hands were still slightly shaking from the excitement of actually talking with her. âOkay, okay. The mystical powers of catsâwhere do I even begin?â He leaned in dramatically, as if about to reveal some ancient secret. Â
"First of all, cats are masters of manipulation," Mingyu began, gesturing with his hands for emphasis. "I mean, if youâve ever had a cat sit on your lap, staring at you like they know youâve got food, but they're too dignified to begâthatâs sort of like when you know youâre in their power."Â Â
Y/Nâs lips twitched, and for the first time, she seemed fully engaged in his rambling. âManipulation, huh?â she murmured, leaning back in her chair. "I thought we were talking about mystical powers, not deviousness." Â
Mingyu grinned. âThat is their mystical power, come on. They can manipulate you into giving them whatever they want, whether itâs food, affection, or a new scratching post. Itâs all about the gaze, the quiet dominance. Thereâs a reason people say cats can see into your soul.â Â
Y/N nodded slowly, clearly entertained. âOkay, Iâll give you that one. But what about the mystical part? You know, the one where cats are supposed to be magical, like, bringing good luck and stuff.â Â
âThatâs a good one.â Mingyu leaned forward, his eyes lighting up with the sudden spark of inspiration. âWell, think about it. Cats sleep all day, but when they wake up, theyâre already confident they can get what they want. They just know that time is precious, that sleep is sacred, and that the real power is in being present when it counts.â Â
He paused for a second, realizing that this wasnât just him making random, funny observations anymore. There was something about how heâd said itâhow focused heâd beenâsomething deeper that he hadnât planned for. Mingyu quickly shook his head, feeling a little embarrassed. Â
âOkay, maybe Iâve been watching too many cat videos, but you get what I mean, right?â Â
Y/Nâs eyes softened, and she gave him an almost imperceptible nod. âI get it. Cats donât waste time. They donât do things for anyone but themselves. Thatâs kind of powerful.â Â
âExactly.â Mingyuâs smile was so wide it threatened to overtake his face. âItâs like theyâve got it all figured out. Weâre all running around, doing a million things at once, but cats? They take it easy, let things come to them and somehow, it works out.â Â
Y/N sat there, looking at him for a moment, before her gaze drifted down to her journal. "I never thought about it that way," she said quietly. Â
Mingyu noticed the shift in her energy. It was subtle, but he could tell that his words had struck something deep. Before he could say anything more, she lifted her head again, her expression more thoughtful than before. Â
"Maybe I need to take a page out of the cat playbook," she murmured, almost to herself. Â
Mingyu watched her for a moment, wondering if heâd said too much, or if he was getting into dangerous territory where he might have pushed her too far with his endless chatter. But when she glanced back up at him, there was no irritation, only curiosity. Â
âI think we all do,â Mingyu said softly. âWe could all use a little more time to just be. No pressure. No rush. Just existing in the moment.â Â
Y/N gave a small smile, and for the first time, Mingyu felt like it wasnât just her pulling away from the world. It was almost like she was letting a piece of herself connect to him, in this little moment of vulnerability. Â
"So," he said after a beat, trying to keep the conversation light, "what are you going to do now? Go home and take a nap like a true cat?"Â Â
Y/N chuckled, the sound soft and genuine. "No, I think Iâll stay here for a bit longer." She looked up at him, her eyes glinting with amusement. "But maybe Iâll actually finish what Iâm writing today. You know, before I get distracted by any more of your stories."Â Â
Mingyuâs grin widened, feeling a sense of accomplishment that he hadn't realized he was craving. âI promise, Iâll keep the stories to a minimum. But if you need a distraction, you know where to find me.â Â
She raised her cup of coffee, as if to make a toast. "I might just have to do that."Â Â
Later that day Mingyu returned to his usual post at the counter on his break from the studio, his mind still buzzing with the conversation heâd just had with Y/N. He couldnât remember the last time heâd felt this good about a conversation. His thoughts wandered back to her, and how she hadnât seemed annoyed by his rambling. Instead, sheâd actually listenedâlike she wanted to listen. Â
As the afternoon light filtered through the cafĂ© windows, he found himself stealing glances at Y/N from the counter. She was still scribbling in her journal, her focus so intense it was almost like she was channeling her own version of that "cat power" he had talked about earlier. Â
And maybe, just maybe, he could be a part of her story. Or at least, part of the narrative she was writing in her mind. Â
The thought made him smile to himself, and for the first time in a while, he felt like he wasnât just talking to fill silence. He was talking because it felt like she was listeningâand maybe, just maybe, she was starting to like the sound of his voice, too. Â
Y/Nâs eyes sparkled as she grabbed her things from the table and walked up to him standing in line,âI already got you another one, I remembered you came here around this time yesterday so I just took a shot.â Her fingers brushing against his in the exchange.Â
âI think itâs going to be just what I need,â he said softly, her smile lingering.
Mingyu nodded, suddenly aware of the quiet space between them. For a moment, neither of them spoke, but there was something comforting in the silence, something deeper than just shared words. It was like they both understood that there was more here than just a random meeting. Maybe, just maybe, they were starting to find something that couldnât easily be put into words.
âSo, whatâs on your agenda today?â Mingyu asked, leaning against the counter, trying to keep the conversation going. âAny secret missions? Any mysteries waiting to be solved?â
Y/N took a sip of her espresso, savoring the rich taste before setting the cup down and looking at him with a thoughtful expression. âActually, yes. I have been thinking about something,â she said, her voice quieter now, more reflective. âIâve been thinking about what it means to really be somewhere. You know? Per our earlier conversation. Not just physically, but mentally. To actually let yourself be present and not be running from one thing to the next.â
Mingyuâs brows furrowed as he processed her words. âI get that,â he said slowly, almost to himself. âI think... I think Iâve been running around like that a lot lately. Always filling up my time with stuff, trying to get things done, but Iâm never really here, you know? Itâs like, Iâm always on autopilot.â
Y/N nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. âExactly. Itâs easy to get caught up in the noise. But sometimes, the quiet is where the answers are.â
Mingyu felt a strange warmth spread through him at her words. It was as though they were having a conversation that was much bigger than coffee, much bigger than just now. It felt like she was giving him a glimpse into something he wasnât quite ready to admit to himself.
"You know," he said softly, "I think I needed to hear that today."
Y/N looked at him, her gaze steady. "I think you were meant to hear it."
The words hung between them, and for a moment, Mingyu felt like the whole world outside the café had faded into the background. It was just him and her, and in this small, quiet space, they had carved out a little corner of understanding.
But before he could say anything more, Y/N stood, her bag slung over her shoulder. âI should get going,â she said, offering him a gentle smile. âBut Iâll be back tomorrow.â
âSame time?â Mingyu asked, suddenly eager for the next day, for the next conversation, for the next moment with her.
She gave a slight nod, her smile turning a little more playful. âSame time. And donât forget your charm, Mingyu.â
He laughed, feeling lighter than he had in days. âIâll bring it. I promise.â
As Y/N left the cafĂ©, Mingyu stood there for a moment, watching her go. He had no idea what was coming next, no idea what kind of story he and Y/N were writing together. But for the first time in a long time, he didnât feel the need to rush ahead to the next chapter. He was content to let it unfold, slowly and naturally, like the turning of a page.
And when the door swung closed behind her, he found himself already looking forward to tomorrow.
This time, he didnât mind that he was talking too much.
It was a slow evening at the radio station. Mingyu leaned back in his chair, spinning lazily in circles while a groovy indie track filled the studio. The red ON AIR sign glowed softly above the window, casting the room in a warm, familiar light. Â
"Alright, everyone," Mingyu said into the mic as the song faded. His voice slid effortlessly into his signature radio toneâsmooth, playful, and just a touch self-deprecating. "It's your favorite over-sharer again. If you're tuning in tonight, let me know you're out there. Send me your requests, your shout-outs, or your best guess for how long it took me to ruin my dinner plans this week."Â Â
As he flipped through a stack of vinyl records, his thoughts wandered. He hadnât been able to stop thinking about the now not so stranger at the cafĂ©. She had become a regular fixture in his life over such a short time, always sitting in the same corner, writing in that journal of hers. Â
The thought made him smile, and before he knew it, he was speaking again. Â
"You know," he began, leaning closer to the mic, "thereâs this person whoâs been hanging around my favorite cafĂ© lately. They donât say much, but thereâs something about themâyou know, the kind of person whoâs like a locked treasure chest. You just want to figure out whatâs inside. I, of course, have been trying to charm them with my wit and sparkling conversation. Has it worked? Iâd say sort of. But hey, persistence is key, right?" Â
He chuckled, then added, âAnyway, Iâve decided to name them âMystery Corner Person.â If youâre listening, MCP, this oneâs for you.â Â
Mingyu queued up the next trackâa dreamy, nostalgic tune that felt just right. As it played, he leaned back and sighed, wondering if she's still listening to hear his ridiculous ramblings. Â
But, she did.Â
The next morning at the cafĂ©, y/n walked in earlier than usual, her journal tucked under one arm. Mingyu was sitting at a high top table at the window when they approached him directly. Â
âI heard your show last night,â she said, her voice as calm and unreadable as ever. Â
Mingyu froze, a muffin balanced precariously in one hand. âOh, uhâdid you?â Â
Y/n tilted her head. âMystery Corner Person?â Â
Mingyuâs ears turned pink. âThat... mightâve been about you.â Â
âI figured.â They placed their journal on the counter, resting their hand on the cover. âYouâre very open. I was waiting for you to bring it up actually.â Â
âI like to think itâs part of my charm,â he said, flashing a sheepish grin. Â
For a moment, they just stared at him, and Mingyu worried heâd made a fool of himself again. But then, to his surprise, the stranger smiledâa real, genuine smile. Â
âYour persistence is letâs just say.. entertaining,â she said, her voice carrying the faintest hint of warmth. Â
Mingyu felt a rush of relief and a spark of something elseâhope, maybe. âDoes this mean youâll give me a shot? By being friends, I mean. Or acquaintances. Orâwell, anything, really.â Â
Y/n chuckled softly, their smile lingering. âIâll give you a shot.â Â
As they turned to head to their usual corner, Mingyu couldnât help but grin. It wasnât much, but it was something. And for the first time, he felt like he might actually be breaking through that carefully guarded exterior. Â
He picked up his muffin and placed it back on the plate, walking over to their table with a little extra bounce in his step. Maybe his tendency to talk too much wasnât such a bad thing after all.
âSo, mystery corner person,â Mingyu started, his voice light, playful. âDoes this mean weâre friends now, or are you just humoring me?â
Y/N raised an eyebrow, her lips quivering. âIâd say weâre on the road to friendship. But I wouldnât get too comfortable just yet.â
âFair enough,â Mingyu said, leaning against the back of the chair across from her, still standing. He tried to suppress the urge to keep talking, but the words came tumbling out before he could stop them. âIâll take what I can get. Besides, Iâve learned that sometimes itâs the quiet ones who have the best stories, and Iâm betting youâve got some good ones. Maybe youâll share them with me one day.â
Y/N chuckled softly, the sound melodic. âIâm not exactly one for sharing my whole life, though. Not yet, anyway.â
âWell, no pressure,â Mingyu said quickly, lifting his hands as if in mock surrender. âYouâve got your own time. But Iâve got to warn youâIâm a terrible secret keeper. So if you start telling me anything too wild, I might end up broadcasting it.â
âSounds dangerous,â Y/N replied, her tone a little teasing. âIâll make sure to be careful around you then.â
Mingyu smiled at the playful challenge in her voice. He was surprised how easy it felt to talk to her now. There was something about her calm, unruffled nature that made him feel comfortable in a way he hadnât expected.
He sat down at the edge of the table, leaning forward. âAlright, alright. Iâll stop with the radio host charm for now,â he said, waving his hand dramatically. âBut you should know, itâs a hard habit to break. Iâve been talking to a microphone alone for so long, I forget there are real people out there sometimes.â
Y/N glanced at him over the rim of her coffee cup, the corner of her mouth turning up in a small smile. âI think itâs a good thing. Youâve got a way of making everything sound a little brighter.â
Mingyu blinked at her, taken aback by the unexpected compliment. He wasnât sure how to respond at first, but he found himself chuckling, trying to play it cool. âWell, thank you. Thatâs probably the nicest thing anyoneâs said about my rambling.â
Y/N gave a slight shrug, but her eyes sparkled. âYou make it sound like rambling is a bad thing. Sometimes, itâs nice to just say things and see where they go.â
âSee?â Mingyu said, leaning in as if heâd cracked a code. âThatâs what Iâm talking about. You get it. Youâre a fellow over-sharer in disguise, I just know it.â
Y/N let out a laugh, shaking her head. âMaybe. But Iâll have to decide whether youâre worthy of knowing my secrets first.â
âWell, I canât promise I wonât annoy you with my stories,â Mingyu said with a wink. âBut Iâm pretty good at keeping secrets. If it makes you feel better, I wonât be sharing anything you donât want me to.â
âHmm, weâll see about that,â Y/N said, a sly smile tugging at her lips.
Mingyu chuckled, standing up from his chair and giving a mock bow. âAlright, Iâll leave you to write. But, just so you know, Iâm very persistent, so youâre going to be seeing a lot of me, mystery corner person.âÂ
Y/n just waved him off, âFor someone who wanted to learn my name so badly youâre in the habit of not using it.âÂ
âAh, youâll be hearing a lot more of it. Donât worry too much.âÂ
Y/N shook her head with a faint smile, but just as he turned to leave, something tugged at her resolve. She called out after him, her voice hesitant yet firm enough to stop him in his tracks. âMingyu?â
âYeah?â He turned around quickly, almost like heâd been waiting for her to say his name again. Their eyes met, and for a moment, the air between them felt charged, words hanging unspoken.
Y/N hesitated, her fingers brushing the edge of her notebook as if it could anchor her nerves. âWould you want to have dinner or something? I mean now that weâre friends, I figured we could hang out more. Not just over coffee.â
Mingyuâs expression softened into a genuine smile, one that reached his eyes and made them crinkle at the corners. âIâd love that,â he said without hesitation. âHow about tonight? Iâm off at 7:30. Can we meet at Yeattaâs? Itâs just a block or two from here.â
âYeah, that works for me,â Y/N replied, her heart skipping a beat as she tried to play it cool.
âGreat,â Mingyu said, his excitement barely contained as he gave her a small wave. âIâll see you there, Y/N.â
As he walked away, Y/N found herself staring at the space he had just vacated, her lips curving into an uncontrollable smile. There was something about Mingyu that made her heart feel lighterâlike maybe, just maybe, this was the start of something worth holding onto.
Mingyu arrived at Yeattaâs at exactly 7:25, five minutes early but not surprising given the way he bounced on the balls of his feet, clearly eager. When Y/N walked in a minute later, scanning the small, warmly lit restaurant, she found him standing by the entrance, his smile lighting up as soon as he spotted her.Â
âRight on time,â he teased, holding the door open for her. âI was starting to think you might stand me up.â
âOh, please,â Y/N shot back, smirking as she stepped inside. âYouâd just hunt me down at the coffee shop tomorrow.â
âTrue,â Mingyu admitted with a grin. âIâm nothing if not persistent.âÂ
They were seated at a cozy booth near the back, the smell of wood-fired pizza and roasted garlic wafting through the air. The atmosphere was relaxed, with dim lighting and soft jazz playing in the background. Y/N found herself relaxing more than she expected, her usual hesitations melting away under Mingyuâs easy charm.
âSo,â Mingyu began, unfolding his napkin with a flourish, âare you going to finally tell me what you were writing so furiously in that notebook of yours?â
Y/N raised an eyebrow as she picked up the menu. âYou mean the âmystery notebookâ that you keep trying to pry into? Not a chance.â
âCome on,â he said, leaning forward with an exaggerated pout. âYou canât keep a secret forever. Especially not from me.â
Y/N rolled her eyes but couldnât help laughing. âNice try. Maybe if you guess right, Iâll tell you.â
âDeal.â Mingyu grinned like he had already won. âBut first, whatâs your go-to comfort food? And what drinks should we get? I need to know if youâre a pizza or pasta person before it kills me.â
âDepends on the mood,â she said, glancing over the menu. âBut tonight? Definitely pasta and red wine. You?â
âPizza all the way, yes to the wine for sure, I might get white though? Better for the red sauce is what Iâve heard before, not sure if itâs true.â he said confidently. â But Iâm flexible. We can share if you want to try both.â
The waiter had just placed their wine glasses on the table, a rich red for Y/N and a sparkling white for Mingyu, who claimed he wasnât much of a wine connoisseur but was always up for a little sparkle. As they clinked their glasses, the sound rang out softly, blending into the warm hum of conversation around them.Â
âTo new friends,â Mingyu said with a grin.Â
âAnd persistent ones,â Y/N added with a sly smile before taking a sip. The wine was smooth, warming her from the inside as much as the company did.Â
âSo,â Mingyu began, leaning back comfortably in his chair, âtell me something about you I wouldnât guess just by looking at you.â
Y/N tilted her head, thinking as she swirled the wine in her glass. âHm,I used to play the cello when I was younger. Like, seriously. Competitions and everything.â
âNo way,â Mingyu said, his eyes widening in surprise. âWhy donât you still play?â
âI got too busy with school, life, and, well, other things took over,â she said with a shrug, a touch of wistfulness in her voice. âBut it was fun while it lasted. Your turn.â
âSomething you wouldnât guess about me?â Mingyu echoed, rubbing his chin theatrically. âAlright. I once auditioned for a cooking show.â
Y/Nâs eyebrows shot up. âSeriously? What happened?â
âWell,â he began, leaning in like he was about to reveal a deep, dark secret, âI made it to the second round. But then I totally botched a dessert challenge because I got the sugar and salt mixed up.â
Y/N burst out laughing, nearly spilling her wine. âOh no! What were you trying to make?â
âA soufflĂ©,â Mingyu groaned, dramatically slumping in his chair. âI thought Iâd be impressive, but instead, I made the worldâs saltiest disaster.â
âI wouldâve loved to see that,â Y/N said, still laughing. âYouâre brave, though. I can barely cook for myself, let alone under pressure.â
âWell, lucky for you, I happen to be a pretty decent cook these days,â Mingyu said with a wink. âMaybe Iâll redeem myself and cook for you sometime.â
Y/N arched an eyebrow but smiled. âWeâll see about that. Iâll be the judge. Ramsay style.âÂ
The conversation naturally shifted as the wine loosened their inhibitions. Y/N talked about her love for old bookstores and how she could lose hours flipping through dusty pages, imagining the lives of people who owned them before. Mingyu shared his obsession with spontaneous road trips, confessing that he once drove five hours just to try a diner he saw on TV.Â
âYouâre kidding,â Y/N said, incredulous but amused. âWas it worth it?â
âAbsolutely,â Mingyu said, his eyes lighting up at the memory. âBest blueberry pancakes of my life..â
Y/N shook her head, smiling. âYouâre so carefree. I donât know if I could ever just get up and go like that.âÂ
âWhy not?â Mingyu asked, genuinely curious. âSometimes the best moments are the unplanned ones.â
âMaybe,â she conceded, taking another sip of wine. âBut Iâm more of a planner. I like knowing whatâs ahead.â
âWell,â Mingyu said, his tone playful but with a trace of sincerity, âif you ever feel like throwing the plan out the window, let me know. Iâm pretty good at finding adventures.â
Their conversation was momentarily interrupted when the waiter approached with their pizzaâa perfectly charred margherita, the thin crust bubbling with golden edges, fresh basil leaves glistening against the vibrant red of the tomato sauce. The aroma alone made Y/Nâs stomach rumble, but neither of them reached for a slice right away. Instead, they lingered over their wine, the warm, dim light casting a golden glow over the table as their laughter filled the space between them.
Mingyu leaned back in his chair, his grin wide as he recounted one of his more daring childhood memories. âSo, I was about ten, and I decided I was going to build the fucking coolest treehouse in the neighborhood,â he said, gesturing animatedly. âI had this old plank of wood, some rusty nails, and no clue what I was doing, obviously. I climbed up this huge tree in my backyardâlike, way higher than I shouldâveâand started hammering away. Next thing I know, one of the branches snapped, and there I was, dangling halfway up the tree, screaming for my mom.â
Y/N gasped, covering her mouth with her hand, but the corners of her lips twitched in amusement. âNo way. You didnât fall, did you?â
âNo,â Mingyu said, shaking his head dramatically. âBut I was stuck for maybe three hours? My mom had to call the neighbors to bring a ladder. And the worst part? My treehouse was just some lame ass piece of wood dangling from the tree like I was. It wasnât exactly the cool architectural design I pictured.â
Y/N burst out laughing, nearly spilling her wine. âThatâs hilarious. I can totally picture you as this ambitious little kid, full of big plans and no backup.â
âOh, absolutely,â Mingyu said, chuckling. âI had all the ideas but zero execution. What about you? Any wild childhood adventures? Secret missions rather, since youâre a mystery.âÂ
Y/N hesitated for a moment, then her expression softened, a faraway look in her eyes. âYouâre a little bit of a smartass, huh? When I was fifteen, I used to sneak out of the house late at nightânot to go to parties or anything. Iâd climb out my bedroom window and bike to this hill just outside town. It was the perfect spot to stargaze. Iâd lie there for hours, just staring at the sky, convinced I was going to be an astronomer one day. And as I got older I still go sometimes, just to have a beer and sit alone, it helps me relax.â
Mingyuâs smile softened, his gaze lingering on her as she spoke. âThat sounds really nice actually,â he said, his voice quieter now. âWhy astronomy?â
âI think I liked how small it made me feel,â Y/N admitted, swirling her wine glass absently. âLike, no matter how big my problems seemed, they were nothing compared to the universe. Plus, I thought if I studied the stars, maybe I could find some meaning up there. I was always sort of lost as a kid, too shy to make a lot of friends, too terrible at sports to have nobody laughing at me when I would try out for teams, all that.â
âI feel like youâre selling yourself short,â Mingyu said sincerely. âSo you still go?â
Y/N shook her head, a wistful smile tugging at her lips. âNot as much anymore. Life got busier, you know? But I think about it sometimes. I miss how peaceful it was.â
âWell,â Mingyu said, leaning forward with a playful glint in his eyes, ânext time you want to chase stars, let me know. I think I have a spot youâd like.â
Y/N laughed, raising an eyebrow. âYouâd sit in silence under the stars? No smart ass remarks or treehouse stories?â
âHey, shut up. I can be quiet,â Mingyu defended, though his grin gave him away. âFor a little while, at least. But no promises if I see a shooting star. Youâre supposed to make a wish, right? Mine would be to bring alcohol and snacks.â
Y/N chuckled, shaking her head as she reached for a slice of pizza at last. âYouâre impossible.â
âAnd yet, here we are,â he teased, raising his glass for another toast. As their glasses clinked again, their laughter and stories spilled over like the wine in their glassesâeasy, unhurried, and warm. Mingyu leaned back in his seat, his wine glass balanced loosely in his hand, and gave Y/N a look that was equal parts playful and sincere. âIâm serious, though. You tell me when you want to go stargazing, and Iâll make it happen. Snacks, drinks, blanketsâyou name it. Iâll even promise to be quiet for the first ten minutes.â
Y/N smirked, taking a small bite of her pizza. âTen whole minutes of silence? That might actually be a record for you.â
âDonât push it,â Mingyu shot back with a laugh. âYouâd miss my voice too much.â
âDebatable,â she teased, but her smile lingered, softening the edge of her words.
They fell into a comfortable rhythm, their conversation weaving between playful banter and moments of genuine connection. Mingyu asked her more about her writing, his questions thoughtful and encouraging, and Y/N found herself sharing more than she expectedâher half-formed ideas, her struggles with self-doubt, and her dream of one day publishing a book that might make someone feel the way she did when she opened a favorite story.
âI feel like youâre already halfway there,â Mingyu said, his tone serious now. âYou light up when you talk about it. Itâs nice to see you smile talking about something.â
She looked down at her glass, feeling the heat rise to her cheeks. âYou make it sound so easy.â
âMaybe itâs not easy,â he admitted, âbut that doesnât mean itâs not worth it. Besides, if you ever need a cheerleader, Iâm available. Very affordable, tooâjust pay me in pizza.â
Y/N laughed, her nerves dissolving under his earnest encouragement. âIâll keep that in mind. What about you? Whatâs your big dream?â
Mingyu hesitated for a moment, tapping his fingers lightly on the table. âHonestly? I think Iâm still figuring it out. But I know I want to make people happy, you know? Whether itâs through cooking, making them laugh, or just being there when they need someone. Thatâs what feels right to me.â
âThatâs a pretty great dream,â Y/N said, her voice softening. âAnd I think youâre already doing it.â
Their eyes met, and for a brief moment, the noise of the restaurant seemed to fade away. Mingyuâs smile turned a little sheepish, and he scratched the back of his neck. âWell, Iâm glad to know Iâve got at least one satisfied customer.â
Y/N rolled her eyes but couldnât stop herself from smiling. âYouâre not terrible company, I guess.â
âHigh praise,â Mingyu teased, raising his glass again. âTo not being terrible company.â
Y/N clinked her glass against his, her laughter mixing with his as they returned to their meal. As the night wore on, the slices slowly disappeared, but the conversation never lost its spark. They lingered long after the plates were cleared, talking about everything from childhood dreams to places they wanted to travel.
Eventually, the waiter discreetly dropped off the check, and Mingyu reached for it without hesitation. âDonât even think about it,â he said when Y/N protested.
âI couldâve at least split it with you,â she said, crossing her arms.
âYou could have,â Mingyu replied with a cheeky grin. âBut then I wouldnât get to say I treated you on our first official hangout. You can cover the snacks for stargazingâdeal?â
Y/N sighed, shaking her head with a smile. âDeal.â
As they stepped out into the crisp night air, the city lights casting a soft glow on the streets, Mingyu turned to her. âSo, was I as annoying as you thought Iâd be?â
âAnnoying? Yes,â Y/N said, her lips twitching in amusement. âBut I donât mind.â
âIâll take it,â Mingyu said with a laugh. âThanks for tonight, Y/N. It was probably one of the most fun things Iâve done in a while.âÂ
âIt was,â she admitted, surprised by how much she meant it. âSee you tomorrow, persistent coffee guy?â
âOh, youâll see me,â he said, winking before turning to head down the street. âUnless I see you first, Mysterious Corner Person.â
Y/N watched him walk away, a warmth settling in her chest. As she started toward home, she couldnât help but smile, already looking forward to their next meeting.
As the dawn broke, the soft glow of the morning sun streamed through the windows of the cafĂ©, casting a warm hue over everything. Y/N sat at her usual corner spot, absently scrolling through her phone while waiting for her favorite annoying friend. The comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, mingling with the sound of light chatter and the clinking of cups. She hadnât quite managed to shake off the memory of last nightâMingyu's laughter, the way his eyes sparkled when he spoke, and the lingering warmth of their conversation.
Just as she checked her watch to see if Mingyu had been late or not, she heard the tinkle of the doorbell, drawing her attention. In walked Mingyu, a wide grin plastered on his face, walking up to grab two steaming cups of coffee in his hands. Y/Nâs heart did a little flip; she couldn't help but smile back as he approached her with the casual confidence that always made her stomach flutter.
âI brought you your favorite,â he said, placing the cup in front of her. âConsider this an apology for being too charming last night. I didnât mean to sweep you off your feet or anything.â The teasing lilt in his voice made Y/N chuckle, though she rolled her eyes playfully, masking the warmth tinting her cheeks.
âToo charming, huh? Is that even a thing?â she shot back, taking a sip and savoring the familiar taste. With every interaction, she found herself drawn deeper into the lighthearted banter they had cultivated. He sat down across from her, his playful nature washing away any remnants of a serious morning.
As days turned into weeks, those spontaneous coffee runs became the highlight of Y/N's mornings. Each day, Mingyu would find a new reason to lingerâasking about her weekend plans, recounting strange dreams that had caused him to wake up giggling, or debating the merits of pineapple on pizza. There were moments when their conversations would drift into deeper territory, discussing their aspirations, fears, and the odd twists life threw their way.Â
Y/N soon discovered that Mingyu had an uncanny ability to make even the most mundane topics feel important. One Tuesday, as they squabbled over the best pizza toppings, he insisted, âPeppers and onions bring out the true flavor of the cheese!â which led to an impromptu debate that had them both laughing until their sides hurt.Â
She found herself anticipating these morning rituals, a bubble of happiness blossoming in her chest at the mere thought of seeing him. What started as a casual coffee run had morphed into something undeniably specialâshe began to crave his company more than she cared to admit.Â
Despite her attempts to play it cool, every shared laugh, every gently lingering gaze exchanged started to intertwine their lives in ways she hadnât expected. Each day, the corner cafĂ© felt a little more like a second home, not just because of the coffee, but because of Mingyuâs presence. Occasionally, sheâd catch herself daydreaming about what it would be like to invite him over for a pizza night or to share a quiet evening watching movies, a little voice in her head whispering fears of slipping from friendship into something deeperâsomething beautiful yet terrifying.
But for now, they relished the simplicityâthe easy comfort of shared coffee, laughter, and the exhilarating thrill of something unspoken hanging softly between them, waiting for the right moment to blossom.
After weeks of easy laughter and coffee-filled mornings, Mingyuâemboldened by Y/N's growing fondness for their time togetherâdecided it was time to showcase his culinary prowess. He had mentioned his love for cooking during one of their coffee chats, specifically teasing about a past cooking show attempt that had ended in disaster when he mistakenly used salt instead of sugar in a dessert. It was an absolute failure, but the way he recounted it had left Y/N in stitches, and she couldnât help but encourage him to put that experience behind him.Â
So it was with a mischievous smile that Mingyu sent her a message inviting her over to his place for a âproper meal.â His confidence was infectious, and Y/N found herself excited at the prospect of spending an evening cooking together, even if she glimpsed a little fear behind her excitement.
That Saturday evening, Y/N arrived at his apartment with a spring in her step, holding a bottle of wine as her contribution to the dinner. Mingyu greeted her at the door, a cute apron tied around his waist, and his hair slightly tousled as if he had been preparing all day. The kitchen already smelled inviting, with the simmering of something savory in the background.
âWelcome to my kitchen.â he declared, flinging open his arms in mock grandeur. âPrepare to be blown away.â Y/N giggled, feeling a playful banter already brewing between them as they stepped into the kitchen.Â
They started a little unsure, mixing up ingredients and dancing around each other in the small space. Laughter filled the air as he guided her through the preparation of their meal. Chopping vegetables turned into a chopping competition, resulting in some accidentally discarded pieces flying across the countertop. They were both a bit clumsy, but it only added to the charm of the evening.Â
However, chaos ensued as Y/N intentionally mixed up the sugar and salt while measuring the ingredients for the sauce. As a callback to make fun of Mingyuâs cooking show embarrassment hoping he wouldnât take it to heart too much.Â
Mingyuâs face morphed from confusion to pure horror as he tasted the sauce. âWhat is this? Are you fucking with me?â he exclaimed, trying to keep a straight face but failing miserably, a burst of laughter erupting between them.
âHey, I thought we could give you a call back to your days as an aspiring chef. You were just telling me to âadd seasoningâ!â Y/N retorted, her laughter bubbling over.Â
The kitchen transformed into a battleground of flour and spills as they attempted to clean up the mess, dashing here and there grabbing paper towels and laughing uncontrollably as they dodged flour clouds that seemed intent on sticking to every surfaceâincluding themselves. The floor bore witness to a sprinkling of flour footprints leading from sink to counter and back.Â
âOkay, okay. Clearly, weâre not going to win a Michelin star tonight,â Mingyu chuckled, wiping a hand across his forehead, flour now dusting his cheek.Â
âMaybe we should just clean up and order takeout? Sorry for fucking up your nice mealâ Y/N suggested with a grin, realizing neither of them had even started on the main course yet.Â
âI have a feeling this was your plan all along, think Iâm going to poison you?â He nodded enthusiastically.Â
âAbsolutely.âÂ
They huddled over his phone, browsing menus and sharing a laugh about different food combinations, all the while enjoying the relaxed comfort of each otherâs company. As they placed their order, Mingyu playfully bemoaned the âgreatest culinary disaster of the century,â and Y/N couldnât help but tease him about his cooking abilities.
When the food finally arrived, they sat down on the couch, a jumble of takeout containers and mismatched plates, laughter still dancing in the air. They dug in, enjoying their food with a warmth that stemmed not just from the flavors but from the shared experience that had turned their simple dinner into pure chaos, followed by comfort as their legs touched settled into his cozy sofa, which they both pretended not to acknowledge.Â
In between bites, their conversation flowed easily, the earlier chaos of the kitchen forgotten, only to be replaced by gentle teasing and heartfelt discussions. The evening had not gone as planned, yet in those moments, Y/N felt a closeness to Mingyu that she hadn't fully anticipated and wasnâre sure what it meant.Â
As they polished off the last of their takeout, they leaned back against the couch, feeling the loosening tension from the day, laughter still bubbling between them. She glanced at him, his face lit up with a satisfied grin, and realized that this was far more memorable than if everything had gone perfectly. The spilled flour and overly salty sauce had become their personal anecdotes, stories to reminisce about, etched into their growing relationship.Â
And even amid the mess, she felt something shiftâthis was more than just a casual evening; it was a bond that deepened with every laugh shared and every slight mistake made together. In the cozy warmth of the moment, Y/N found herself contemplating just how right it felt to be here with Mingyu.Â
âDo you-âÂ
They both said at the same time, their laughter flowing still. Y/n prompted Mingyu to talk first, grabbing the can of sweating beer sitting on his coffee table and taking a swig.Â
âNo, just do you ever think about how crazy it is that we met each other?â Mingyu watched y/n's expression as if she was a television character. âWe were strangers a few weeks ago and now here we are, I feel like Iâve known you my whole life.âÂ
Y/N felt a warmth bloom in her chest at his words, a flutter of something electric that made her heart race. Swallowing her sip of beer, she considered his question, the implications of it wrapping around her like a blanket. âIt is sort of crazy,â she replied softly, leaning back against the couch and crossing her arms as she reflected on their journey. âJust a few weeks ago, we were two random people in a coffee shop, sharing awkward small talk over our drinks.â
Mingyu chuckled, his laughter warm and inviting, causing Y/N to smile at the memory. âRight? I remember how you tried to hide your eye roll when I started rambling about my guilty pleasure shows. You've been way more patient with my quirks than I deserve.â
âHey, you didnât have to twist my arm to talk about junk food and reality TV. Thatâs a gift you offered me,â she replied, nudging him playfully with her elbow. âBut seriously, I donât know. It just feels almost too easy with you.â
He nodded, the sincerity on his face deepening. âAbsolutely. I had this fear that after my cooking show mishap, Iâd never cook for anyone ever again. But, somehow, I feel comfortable with you. Like I can be myselfâflour-covered and all..Â
âI get that.â she replied, her heart still racing from the way his eyes searched hers, filled with an openness that was rarely offered. âItâs everythingâour late-night talks about nothing and everything, all those moments and I like that I donât feel pressure to impress you.â
Mingyuâs gaze softened as he let her words sink in, a smile spreading across his faceâa mix of relief and happiness. âI feel the same way. I guess itâs nice to find someone who can appreciate you for who you are, flaws and all.â
âI thought you didnât have any flaws?âÂ
The atmosphere shifted slightly, a gentle gravity settling around them as they shared this moment of vulnerability. It felt like the world outside had faded away, leaving only the sacred space between them filled with thoughtful breaths and unspoken words.
Then, suddenly, Mingyu leaned a little closer, his elbow resting on his knee as he caught her gaze with an intensity that made her heart flutter even more. âYou know⊠I think the best part about getting to know you is discovering how we both navigate our own messiness. Weâre both a little chaotic in our own ways, and itâs refreshing to find someone else who can embrace that.â
Y/N felt her cheeks heat up as Mingyuâs honesty wrapped around her like warmth. She knew that beneath the laughter and playful teasing, he was speaking to something significant happening between them. âItâs like we balance each other out, right? Your zero flaws perfectly complement my complete lack of many. â
He threw his head back in laughter, and it vibrated through them both like a comforting echo. Touching her thigh out of instinct.Â
Mingyuâs expression shifted then, his eyes earnest yet playful as he leaned in closer, robes of laughter giving way to something deeper. âOkay, but in all seriousnessâwhat do you think happens next for us? I mean, if we keep this up?â
Y/N swallowed hard, feeling the weight of his question, a mixture of excitement and vulnerability swirling in her chest. Tilting her head slightly, she studied his face, a thought bubbling to the surface that she hadnât articulated before. âI guess we keep figuring it out. I know thatâs a lame ass answer, but-âÂ
Mingyuâs face brightened, and he nodded enthusiastically. âWeâll have takeout nights, of courseâmaybe even attempt cooking again when weâre feeling bold.â
âYes. But with a solid plan in place this time,â she teased, her heart warming at his enthusiasm. âwhatever this is.â
âWhatever this is,â he echoed with a soft smile, stretching his arm out along the back of the couch, leaving just enough space for her to lean against him if she wanted to. The gesture lingered in the air, an invitation that made her pulse quicken.
Taking a deep breath, Y/N felt a wave of courage washing over her. She shifted closer, rationally giving way to instinct, and in that moment of intimacy, she let herself lean against him, their bodies fitting together effortlessly.Â
âAnd I wouldnât want to do it with anyone else,â she murmured softly, feeling a profound shift in their dynamic as she nestled against Mingyuâs side. Warmth enveloped her, not just from his body, but from the genuine connection they had forged. She took her hands to his warm cheeks and brushed off the lingering flour, running her fingers over his soft lips.Â
Mingyuâs arm instinctively draped around her shoulders, holding her close, and she felt an undeniable sense of belonging in his presence. âYou canât be this close to me and not kiss me.â he replied quietly, and she could hear the sincerity in his voice, the gravity of their shared moment.
As she stared at him in silence for a minute, a smile washed over her face as she leaned in and made a path to his lips with hers instead at the last minute swerving and giving him a kiss on the cheek playfully.Â
Laughter bubbled between them, lightening the tension that had built in the air. Mingyu looked momentarily surprised, his eyes widening and brows raising in mock disappointment. âOh, come on. That was a dick move.â
Y/N giggled, the sound of a playful melody that danced around them in the cozy space. âI couldnât help it. The look on your face was so worth it.â She winked mischievously, enjoying how their moment, which had felt so heavy and charged just seconds before, had shifted into this playful teasing.
Mingyu chuckled, shaking his head in playful disbelief. âYouâre so mean.â He feigned frustration, but the warmth of his expression and the sparkle in his eyes told her just how much he enjoyed her whimsy. Â
Pride swelled within her at his compliment, and her cheeks flushed at the spontaneity of it all. They were sharing this beautiful blend of fun and intimacyâa carefree-ness that made her heart flutter and her stomach twist into knots of anticipation. She hesitated for a moment, still wrapped in the warmth of his presence, contemplating allowing the moment to settle in further.Â
âOkay, okay⊠Iâll redeem myself,â she said softly, meeting his gaze with a hint of seriousness beneath her earlier teasing. The shift in her tone caught his attention, and his playful expression faded slightly, replaced with an intensity that made her pulse quicken.
âAre you sure?â Mingyu asked, his voice low and filled with a vulnerability that made her heart ache in the best way.Â
Y/N bit her lip, feeling the boldness wash over her again, surpassing any lingering nerves. âI am,â she assured him, her heart hammering as she leaned in closer this time, matching his gaze as they hovered just inches apart. âI guess weâve come too far to hold back now, right?âÂ
âRight,â he breathed, his eyes darkening with something primal, something that sent a shiver of excitement coursing through her. The air between them felt charged, electric, as if they were daring each other to bridge the final distance.
In one swift movement, she closed the small gap, finally pressing her lips against his in a soft, tentative kiss. It was gentle at first, teetering on the edge of hesitation, but as Mingyu respondedâhis lips molding to hers with a warmth she'd yearned for.
Time seemed to blur around them as they savored the kiss, allowing the moment to expand, realizing that this was a milestone in their relationship. Y/Nâs heart raced as she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, drawing him closer still; she could feel the way he leaned into her, matching her eagerness. Each touch ignited sparks, tossing her into a whirlwind of longing that was both intoxicating and exhilarating.Â
When they finally pulled back, breathless, she leaned her forehead against his, her heart racing from the tenderness that hung in the air between them. Mingyuïżœïżœs eyes were bright, reflecting the disbelief and joy of their shared moment. âWow.âÂ
âYeah?â she asked softly, a shy smile breaking across her face. âBecause, Iâd say it was mediocre.âÂ
The lightness returned, and Mingyu laughed, the sound lifting her spirits even more. âShut up, youâre a liar, you were basically begging me for more. â
âI might need another later, just so you can redeem yourself.âÂ
âI can make that happen, you know.âÂ
They grinned at each other, a shared understanding deepening their connection even further. The world outside felt like an echo, distant and unimportant as they savored this newfound bond, filled with untapped potential and the joy of each otherâs company.
âCan you imagine what our friends would say if they knew we spent the night making a mess and then ended with a make-out session?â Mingyu said, his laughter still dancing in the air.
Y/N shook her head, chuckling softly. âWho knows? They might be incredibly jealous we got to have missed out on our âdisasterâ of an evening. But honestly, I wouldnât change it for anything.â
âMe neither,â he replied, his tone shifting back to sincerity. âBut just so you know, Iâm claiming the next time we cook together you just sit and watch.â
âAnd why is that?â Y/N asked, raising an eyebrow in playful skepticism, her heart dancing at his enthusiasm.
âSo I can look sexy for you in the kitchen and you might kiss me again, obviously.â he declared dramatically.Â
Y/N couldnât help but laugh, her heart swelling with affection for his silliness. âAlright, chef. You have yourself a deal. But next time? Iâm bringing dessert.â
âMaybe Iâll just have you for dessert.â Mingyu said with a teasing grin, and she felt her cheeks flush once again in delight.Â
With that playful banter, the rest of the night melted away into easy laughter, light touches, and the thrill of new beginnings. She felt something incredible blooming between them, something beautiful that blended friendship with a newfound romantic spark, and she couldnât wait to see where their journey might take them next.Â
As they settled back on the couch, Y/N nestled against him once more, content with the knowledge that whatever chaos life threw their way, they would tackle it togetherâwith laughter, love, and perhaps a little less clothes involved.

I mean, he likes to just stare at you as if he's watching the prettiest person in the world, but when Seungcheol wants to be especially flirty, he stares at you fondly and smiling with the whole intention to make your heart skip a beat, he even glances at your lips, as if he were trying to say something. Most of the time that's enough to make you really, really shy but when is not... Geez, he has to breathe in and ends up pouting a little (Probably one or two pecks will make him feel better).
Jeonghan. Teasing.
Is like his default love language, making harmless jokes to see you flustered all over him is just so fun to watch. But, is he really just trying to be a teaser, or is there something else behind? "I took the chair, but you can sit on my lap" he said one day, sitting at your desktop, with the most mischievous smile possible. But you didn't fall for his charm and as you kept your annoyed face, he stood up and sighed "Okay, all yours". And you better be ready because he's not forgetting so easy, and will keep teasing you just a little (yeah, a little) more than usual.
Joshua. Back hugging.
When Joshua wants your attention only and only for him, he goes where you are to hug you from the back, resting his chin on your shoulders and crossing his arms around your waist. Oh, he loves it so much is so tender, but he gets lowkey hurt when you don't react in any way because, how come you don't realize his intentions? Is really doing the dishes way more important than his warm hugs? Now, this is personal and Joshua wonât let you go, take it as a punishment for being so clueless (reward or punishment?).
Jun. Tickles.
For him, tickles is the perfect excuse to be closer to you. It's so obvious that hurts lol. Most of the time you melt in his touch, and you both end up laughing and sharing some kisses, but sometimes you're minding your business, too busy to realize that Jun wants to get your attention. Better get ready because you'll have a pouty little cat going around the apartment, and will NOT forget your offense unless you give him extra cuddles before bed.
Hoshi. Random "facts".
At the least appropriate time, he would come to find you. "Did you know that there is a minimum number of kisses that a person should receive per day to be healthy?" he says with a very serious expression on his face. And there you are, standing in the middle of the living room while you're brushing your teeth; your soulless expression says all. Hoshi turns around and pretends nothing happened, but in his mind, he's sitting in the corner staring at the walls.
Wonwoo. Making compliments out of nowhere.
He likes to pour you with sweet words, like how much he appreciates your homemade food, or that you did it great at work. From time to time, he thinks is fun to be a little sassy and his praises are very, very intentional. âNew gloss?â he says, grinning at you âIt looks goodâ and for some frigging reason you just start talking about how you got it? Babe, Wonu doesnât care that much that you bought it because your favorite gloss wasnât on stock, but now he feels a little shy to speak and just lets you tell the whole story.
Woozi. Playing with your hair.
When it comes to be openly flirty, Woozi tends to be a little coy. You rarely notice it since it's very common for him to be around you, caressing your hair and playing with the strands in complete silence. So when you get distracted he places a strand behind your ear, exposing your neck. But when he's so close to place a kiss, you jump like a scared kitten. "No! It tickles!" Woozi looks down, defeated, as you move away. "Sorry, be right back" and he locks himself in his room for the next hour.
Minghao. Holding your hand.
He thinks your hands are more than just pretty. Hao likes to take one of them when you're sitting by his side, scrolling on your phone or watching TV. He's so subtle that most of the times you don't feel how he traces your hand with his fingers and when you realize, itâs because your hands are intertwined and heâs holding his laughter. âHow low youâve been like this?â but Minghao just giggles. You end up doing the same and then resume your activity, letting him laughing low in embarrassment and biting his lips as a sign of frustration.
Mingyu. Resting on your lap.
He's very straightforward when it comes to flirting with you. Mingyu likes to wait patiently for you to sit on the couch or the bed and then he goes, at first making some (pretty obvious) questions "What are you doing?" "Is that a new book?" and as you're talking, his hands rest on your thigh, gently stroking your skin with his thumb, but you're so immerse in the topic and he goes completely unnoticed... And before you even notice, there's a flustered Mingyu resting his head on your lap, tracing small circles on your thigh as if he had been punished.
Dokyeom. Taking photos.
He already has a folder with your name and an unhealthy number of photos; Seokmin just never gets tired, you're so used to it that most of the time don't realize that he's actually trying to hit on you. "Just let me take a picture, you look so beautiful today!" And after giving him an awkward smile, you're getting back to your stuff. Seokmin is a bit disappointed but with a bunch of new photos of his precious person, so is not that bad (at least is what he says to himself trying to not lose his mind).
Seungkwan. Scolding.
I know, it may sound like a bit harsh but when he's scolding you, Seungkwan tries to make it as tender as possible, it doesn't feel like scolding and actually, he uses this as a cheap excuse to be extra lovely. "Don't sleep too late, you're getting dark circles" he says in a soft voice while caressing your checks "you're too pretty for that, don't you think?". He waits for you to take the bait and when you laugh on him, saying that he's being a little dramatic, Seungkwan doesn't hide his disappointment. "Okay, keep watching your series" he says getting up from the couch "but don't you dare to complain later!"
Vernon. Placing his arm on your shoulders.
A classic that never dies and his favorite, Vernon likes to do it all the time: when watching movies, chatting, watching videos together; is a like a very subtle invitation to get closer to him, and somehow, most of the time youâre just minding your business and leave him waiting for you to notice. And yeah, heâs very patient, but everything has a limit. "Come here, babe" then he places his hand on your shoulder and brings you closer to his chest. And don't you dare to move, because there's no way he let you go now.
Dino. Calling your name.
Usually, he calls you by pet names or your name in diminutive, reserving the use of your name for special occasions. However, it doesn't always end the way he expected. âDid I do something wrong?â you ask him just after he called you by your name, and when Chan sees your big doe eyes, his smile fades. âIs just that⊠I feel like youâre mad at meâ. At this point his intentions doesnât matter anymore, he just hugs you and tries not cry in his disappointment.

âïž fallin' flower by seventeen
being loved by xu minghao means having someone that will always look out for you in his own, quiet way. hao is not the biggest romantic known to mankind, nor is he the biggest on physical affection, which is why a lot perceive him as unkind, uncaring, cold, and they could not be more wrong. minghao falls in love slowly, cautiously, but when he falls - he falls. his actions, albeit quiet, and almost unnoticeable are his declarations of love, of care, of the neverending urge to make you happy. heâd rather slip on his jacket over your shoulders without anyone noticing than making a whole deal out of it. Â
being loved by xu minghao means having someone who will always tell you the truth. to some, it may seem a bit harsh to have a significant other thatâll be so honest with you, as the truth usually is not as promising as we would like. we all know this - truth can hurt. but hao, he would never lie to you. as ugly as the truth may be, heâd rather be honest with you, and face the obstacle with you, than give you false hope. the important thing, though - heâd never leave you alone, that would make him cruel. he stays by your side, and holds your hand as you go through whatever youâre struggling with together.Â
being loved by xu minghao means having someone that will make every touch meaningful. as mentioned before, physical touch is not one of the main love languages of minghaoâs, and thatâs partially why his every touch is so meaningful - every time his hand brushes against yours, every time he runs his thumb over your cheeks, every time he pulls you closer to protect you from the wind - his touch is never unintentional, thereâs a reason for his touch, always a story that comes with it. because he doesnât kiss you every five minutes, every touch of your lips is therefore so much more special. because you donât hold hands 24/7, whenever he grabs your hand when youâre out you feel extra safe.
being loved by xu minghao feels like the smell of freshly poured tea, like the sound of leaves rustling in the wind, like a gentle smile, and even gentler eyes, like a love poem forgotten at the bottom of the drawer, like security and trust.
"you don't love because, you love despite; not for the virtues, but despite the faults" - william faulkner, âmississippiâ

- ᥣđ© his favourite girl
you were his favourite girl, baking him a cake so pretty and all
starring: Husband Mingyu x curly-haired female reader
synopsis: you had decided to wear his favourite dress of yours a maxi dress that loosely hugged the curve of your waist with flower embroidery that had a cleavage just how he likes it, wearing your pretty curls naturally just how he likes it, he could see your white lacy bra strap with bows (his favourite lingerie set) just how he likes it and you did your makeup just how he likes it.
tags: smut, fluff, female anatomy, reader wears makeup, dresses, female pronouns and just very feminine presenting, oral and penetrative sex (female receiving), pet names (favourite girl, sweet girl, my pretty, honey, good girl, sweet and mingu), slight degradation (my pretty little whore), mentions of food, intentional lowercase.
notes: sorry for my in-activity, i literally had a dream about this, i had to pick which seventeen member i had to do mingyu because like me and him have the same birthday. (but reader and him donât) also i meant for it to come out on his birthday but i had my own party and celebrations (actually im full of shit i just had a massive motivation drop and a severe case of writers block)
you had heard the turn of mingyuâs key against the apartment lock, you had turned of all the lights in the flat, the only light was the candles on the cake that you baked for your husband. you had made sure to make this birthday perfect, you had made a cake of his favourite flavour vanilla (eventhough heâs anything but that), wrote a really sweet card and had prepared his favourite food and movie in the living room.
âangel iâm homeâ you were hiding underneath the kitchen island but it still gave you a hidden view of mingyu who was looking around confused seemingly searching for you, he flicked on the corridor light switch, âangel where are you?â you waited until he was walking to your bedroom to stand up still hearing his confused calls for you, âhappy birthday to you.â you started to sing, his adorable puppy smile illuminating his handsome face âoh sweet girl, you didnât have to do this, did you bake this?â you slowly nodded your head, he clapped his hand with his fanged grin âhappy birthday dear mingyu, happy birthday to you,â you push the cake closer to his face âcome on birthday boy make a wish.â he leaned his neck closer to the cake and blew his 27 shaped candles out and quietly muttered something to himself.
you slowly set the cake on the dinner table and handed mingyu the card you had handwritten for him, he scanned the card with an adoring smile and nothing but love harbouring in his eyes. he placed the card next to the cake and glanced at your excited figure then he pulled you into his arms and looked down at your pretty face then he quickly pecked your soft berry coloured lipstick lathered lips but after the happiness waned he looked down at you and lust started to grow.
he was slowly growing hard, you had decided to wear his favourite dress of yours a maxi dress that loosely hugged the curve of your waist with flower embroidery that had a cleavage just how he likes it, wearing your pretty curls naturally just how he likes it, he could see your white lacy bra strap with bows (his favourite lingerie set) just how he likes it and you did your makeup just how he likes it.
while he was still in his horny daze you had grabbed by his wrist and guided him to the living room and showed him your little buffet he was oddly not devouring the food like he would usually do but he still praised you immensely. you both settled on the couch and started watching the movie.
in the middle of the movie your sweet husband started pecking up your neck and chin, you moaned âmâminguâ meanwhile he softly sucked on your ear-lobe âmm my pretty, couldnât keep my hands off of you yeah, my favourite girl baking me a cake so pretty and all,â mingyu slipped your dress off and exposed your soft skin, to the cold breeze.
you had let out a sharp gasp as you were getting used to the cold âso pretty, my wifeâ his mouth wandered to your cleavage kissing up your chest, thats when he undoes your bra clasp, revealing the flesh of your pretty tits, he sucked on your right nipple sloppily while pinching and fondling your left breast, moving back and forth never leaving one unattended.
âaahh fuckâ mingyu had now begun moving towards your soaking wet sex. he slowly removes your laced panties, leaving you completely bare. âmy sweet girl, always so good for meâ he praised in-between your plush thighs, you moaned wantonly when his tongue licked up your walls.
âdear fucking god mingyuâ you barley mustered up, arching your back off the sofa. you grabbed onto his hair steering his head towards your clit, âfucking love how you tasteâ mingyu groaned the vibrations only edging you on.
you looked down to see your husband furrowing his eyebrows seemingly devoted to making you cum, you began whimpering, only for your husband to quicken his pace ravishing you.
you start to feel a knot in your stomach coming undone, before you could warn your lover, you reach your point of ecstasy. mingyu is helping you riding out your high by sucking on your sensitive nub.
your husband moaned as he made a show for you sucking his fingers, then he brought his thumb to your mouth âsuck my prettyâ you licked up his thumb sucking it clean, âgood girlâ.
âmingu, need youâ you murmured, âneed me, im right here sweetâ mingyu chuckled âyou know what i meanâ you complained âno i dont angel, im gonna need you to be more specificâ âdear god mingyu, i need you to fuck meâ you wanted to slap that cocky smile off his face âsee angel that was all you had to sayâ.
mingyu began lining his fully hard cock to your cunt âyou okay sweetâ you love how caring and loving your husband is its one of the reasons you fell in love with him but now wasnt the time âminguuuâ you lightly slapped his bicep to encourage him, your husband chuckled â i was just checking inâ thats when he began to push into your cunt.
he let out the most guttural moan âfucksakeâ he threw his head back. eventhough you guys have been married for 2 years now, he still cant believe that he was the one you blessed with the privilege of pleasuring you every single night and to see you in the writhes of pleasure every night still never fails to amaze him.
you began to beg him to move, clenching around him âangel if you keep on clenching around me like that ill finish embarrassingly earlyâ after that mingyu slowly moved out of you and pushed back into you slowly building a rhythm.
you moaned loudly, and mingyu swore he almost cummed. your lover lowered his head to your neck sucking on it creating pretty little marks then he lowered his mouth to your tits creating more marks. âuhh faster faster pleaseâ mingyu grabbed your hips then he pushed faster into you, âlove you so much, my pretty little whore begging for my cockâ mingyu praised â my pretty little whoreâ mingyu emphasised while slowly flicking up your sensitive clit, âsay itâ you furrowed your brows âsay your my pretty little whoreâ mingyu was glaring into your eyes, his eyes hooded with lust and adoration â im your pretty little whore, only yoursâ mingyu groaned quickening his pace â im close minguuâ âyeah, im close too sweetâ mingyu lowered his head to kiss you and you swore it was like a taste of heaven. you grabbed his shoulder to oush him back onto your chest and moved your hands to his neck, kissing him with a different type of fervour and that familiar feeling in your lower abdomen.
you started to roll your hips while making out with mingyu, who had begun to pull out of your mouth to breathe leaving a sloppy mess. you repeated your lovers name like it was the only thing you knew.
âcome for me angel, cream on my cockâ and that was the straw that broke the camels back, in a slurry of profanity and âmingyusâ your husband filled you up with his babies. mingyu helped the both of you ride out your highs. afterwards mingyu cockwarmed you for a few minutes then mingyu picked you up leaving the sticky mess and brought you to the shower while you both giggled.
âââââââââââââââââââââââââ
sorry for the inactivity pookies :)

svt when you tell them "it's getting late, i should probably go home":
seungcheol: "oh, okay. let me drive you home, then đ„°" and expects you to invite him in because he doesn't want to let go.
jeonghan: "do you have any plans for tomorrow?" - if you do, then he's ordering you an uber; if you don't, then he's asking you to stay a bit longer.
joshua: "do you want me to walk you home?" and will insist on doing so, even if you say it's not needed - please, let him spend more time with you!!
junhui: "oh... âčïž" but doesn't say anything to try to make you stay because he doesn't wanna be clingy.
soonyoung: "nooo, let's talk some more, please?" and it's crazy how a tiger can master such pretty puppy eyes so you have no choice but to stay.
wonwoo: he mumbles a tiny "yeah, okay" and then guides you to his car. "what are you doing?" "taking you home, isn't it obvious? đ€š".
jihoon: hates when you say that, starts longing for you as soon as he orders you an uber and then write a song about it.
dokyeom: "for real? đ„ș", and then says he'll walk you home. you can try and say he doesn't need to, but it's the only way to make him smile again so you let him.
mingyu: wraps his hands around your arm and pulls you closer. he just keeps walking so you think he ignored you, but then you realize he's starting to walk into your neighborhood. really smooth.
minghao: doesn't fight you, cause you know what's better for yourself. he offers himself to drive you home, shutting you off when you say he doesn't need to. "i want to" - and that leaves you speechless.
seungkwan: "but it's early yet~". he tries to argue with you, pouting when he loses. will definitely walk you home, jokingly picking on you to make you laugh. please kiss him goodbye at the door.
vernon: "you sure?" and if you say yes, he will take the subway with you or wait until you're in an uber; if you look even the slightest hesitant, he will just laugh it off and keep the conversation going.
dino: he's bold, so he will say "you wanna head to my place?" (but also his cheeks are burning, that's why he's not looking at you when he says it). if you decline, he'll order an uber for you and be like "text me when you home".

Arranged Marriage
â Synopsis: Where you and Minghao parents had this grand scheme to merge their companies by marrying you off, thinking it'd be a brilliant business move. Determined to stake your claim and keep your marriage intact, your make a bold move during a business partyâplanting a lipstick-stained kiss on Minghao's lips and yanking him by his tie, leaving no doubt that he's yours and yours alone. â WC: 5.5k â WARNINGS: Smut, throat fucking, blowjob, fingering, penetrative sex, public make out, jealous kiss, angst, forced marriage, mentions of diets.
You're standing there in this fancy white dress, all sparkly and shiny, making your way down the aisle to where Minghao's waiting. He's looking all sharp in his suit, with his hair on point and a little smirk on his face. But as you're walking towards him, you can't help but remember the last time you two really talked was at some boring company event.
Now here you are, about to say your vows like you actually mean them. But deep down, you know it's all just a bunch of lies. You and Minghao both know it. It's all for show, to make your parents' company look good. And the worst part is, everyone at this big fancy wedding knows it too.
The party's huge, like a wedding and a business conference all mashed together. People you've never seen before are milling around, probably part of some shady business deal your parents cooked up. It's like this whole thing isn't even about love or unity anymore. It's just one big networking event disguised as a wedding.
But you go through the motions anyway, smiling and nodding like everything's perfect. You exchange vows that are as fake as the smiles plastered on both of your faces. And as the night goes on, you can't shake the feeling that this whole thing is just a sham. A pretty, expensive sham, but a sham nonetheless.
You watch as people schmooze and mingle, making deals and connections left and right. And you can't help but wonder if this is what your future holds too. A life of pretending, of smiling for the cameras while behind closed doors, it's all just business as usual.
But for now, you paste on your best fake smile and dance the night away, pretending that everything's okay. Because that's what you do when you're part of a family like yours. You put on a show, no matter what's really going on behind the scenes.
You're feeling suffocated by the crowd inside, like the tightness around your waist is almost causing claustrophobia. So you slip away to the backyard, sneaking a slice of cake from the waiters. Your mom had you on some ridiculous diet for a whole week leading up to this wedding, all so you could look "good" in your dress.
You plop down on a wooden bench, the dress spreading out in a big poof around you. Just as you're about to take a much-needed bite of cake, you're interrupted by a voice.
"Why isn't the bride inside enjoying her own party?" The voice belongs to Minghao, hands in his pockets as he stands there, looking at you.
You scoff, shooting him a look. "I'm sure no one's noticed. They're all too busy discussing the stock market or whatever." Your tone is sharp, the underlying tension between you and Minghao palpable.
Minghao snorts, clearly not impressed by your response. "Yeah, well, maybe if you spent less time worrying about your parents' company and more time actually enjoying life, you wouldn't be stuck in this mess."
You bristle at his comment, feeling a surge of anger rising within you. "Oh please, like you have any room to talk. Last time I checked, you were just as tangled up in all of this as I am."
Minghao's expression darkens, and for a moment, you worry you've gone too far.Â
With that, he turns and walks away, leaving you alone with your thoughts and a half-eaten slice of wedding cake. You watch him go, feeling a mix of frustration and something else you can't quite name. Maybe it's just the champagne talking, but for a brief moment, you can't help but wonder what life would be like if you weren't tied down by expectations and obligations.Â
You stare at Minghao, disbelief written all over your face as you take in the sight of the one hotel room your parents booked for the both of you. A single queen-sized bed sits in the center of the room, effectively splitting the space into two halves. You shoot a glance at Minghao, and from the look in his eyes, you can tell he's just as shocked as you are.
The tension between you is palpable as you both stand there, sharing silent but deadly gazes. Finally, you break the silence, your voice dripping with sarcasm. "Well, isn't this just perfect? Our parents booking us one room to 'get used' to each other. As if this whole shit wasn't enough already."
Minghao lets out a scoff, shaking his head in disbelief. "Yeah, because nothing says 'happily ever after' like forcing two strangers to share a bed on their wedding night."
You bite back a retort, opting instead for a more diplomatic approach. "Look, I think it's only fair that I take the bed and you can sleep on the couch."
Minghao raises an eyebrow, his expression incredulous. "And why is that?" he asks, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
You roll your eyes, feeling irritation bubbling up inside you. "Because I'm the bride, for one," you retort, "and two, I've been on my feet all night, walking around in a dress that weighs a ton and heels that could rival skyscrapers. I think I deserve a decent night's sleep."
Minghao lets out a short, humorless laugh. "Oh, please. Do you even know how exhausting it is to be the groom? I've been dealing with people all night, pretending to be someone I'm not, just like you."
You narrow your eyes at him, crossing your arms defiantly. "Fine," you say, a smirk playing at the corners of your lips, "then let's settle this once and for all. Who's more tired: the bride who's been carrying around twelve kilograms of dress and heels all night, or the groom who's been putting on a show for hours on end?"
Minghao looks at you for a moment, the corner of his mouth twitching as if he's trying not to smile. But then he shakes his head, a look of resignation crossing his face. "You win," he says, finally relenting, "you can have the bed."
You smirk triumphantly, feeling a small sense of victory despite the absurdity of the situation. And as you crawl into bed, pulling the covers up to your chin.
The next day rolls around, and before you even have a chance to properly wake up, you're thrown into a meeting. Brunch with both families sounds nice in theory, but when Minghao's dad starts putting papers on the table and declaring, "Let's get to what matters," you realize this isn't going to be a typical family gathering.
You try to maintain a facade of composure, but the discomfort gnaws at you like a persistent itch. So you do what you've gotten used to doing â you look down, avoiding eye contact with anyone in the room.
Minghao notices immediately, and you can feel his gaze burning into the side of your face. His cheeks flush with embarrassment from his father's directness, but you can't bring yourself to look up and meet his eyes. The weight of expectation hangs heavy in the air, and you can practically taste the tension swirling around the table.
As Minghao's dad starts talking about business deals and partnerships, you try to focus on the sound of his voice rather than the sinking feeling in your stomach. But no matter how hard you try to block it out, you can't shake the feeling that you're just a pawn in someone else's game â a game you never asked to play.
You steal a glance at Minghao, but his expression is unreadable, his mask firmly in place. And in that moment, you realize just how alone you really are in this world of high-stakes deals and empty promises.
You're lounging on the couch, the TV blaring in the background, but your mind is miles away. The penthouse feels emptier than ever, despite being filled with all the trappings of luxury. You and Minghao live under the same roof, yet it feels like you might as well be living on opposite ends of the earth. Separate rooms, separate lives, with only a perfunctory "good morning" or "good night" exchanged between you.
The loneliness weighs heavy on your chest, suffocating you with its presence. You long for something more, something real, but it feels like an impossible dream in this gilded cage you've found yourself trapped in.
You're lost in the numbing glow of the television when your phone buzzes with a notification. It's Minghao, informing you of a press conference he's scheduled for later that night. You furrow your brow, puzzled by the sudden announcement.
But it's his last message from the previous night that catches your attention. "Can you at least put on your best smile tonight?" he'd asked, a request that feels more like a demand. And you can't help but feel a pang of frustration at his presumption.
You make your way to his room, finding him hunched over his computer, the glow of the screen casting harsh shadows across his face. You lean against the doorframe, crossing your arms as you watch him for a moment before speaking up.
"What do you mean by that?" you ask, your voice tinged with a hint of annoyance. "Put on my best smile? What's that supposed to mean?"
Minghao looks up from his computer, his expression unreadable. "It means exactly what it sounds like," he replies coolly, his tone clipped. "We both know how important appearances are in our world. So why not make an effort for once?"
You roll your eyes, feeling the anger bubbling up inside you. "I think you mean that you want me to play the dutiful wife once again, to plaster on a fake smile and pretend like everything's fine," you snap, the bitterness seeping into your words.
Minghao's jaw tightens, and for a moment, it looks like he's about to argue back. But then he sighs and runs a hand through his hair, looking suddenly tired and defeated. "Look, I know this isn't what either of us wanted," he says, his voice softer now, tinged with regret. "But it's what we have to do. For our families, for the company."
You scoff, shaking your head in disbelief. "Is that really all that matters to you? The company? "But fine," you say through clenched teeth, pushing yourself away from the doorframe. "I'll put on my best smile tonight. But don't expect me to enjoy it."
You sit in the backseat of the chauffeur-driven car, your gaze fixed on the passing landscape outside the window. The skyscrapers blur into a haze of steel and glass, a stark contrast to the turmoil swirling inside your mind.
Minghao breaks the silence with a casual remark, his tone tinged with amusement. "You don't look like someone who agreed to the terms of our agreement," he observes, a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
You let out a frustrated huff, tearing your eyes away from the window to glare at him. "Yeah, well, maybe I need some time before I can fully commit to this whole acting profession," you retort, your words dripping with bitterness.
Minghao presses his lips together, trying to suppress a laugh at your expense. The corners of his mouth twitch with amusement, but he manages to keep his expression neutral as he looks away, pretending to be absorbed in the passing scenery.
You bristle at his reaction, feeling a surge of indignation coursing through you. "What's so funny?" you demand, your voice sharp with irritation.
Minghao shakes his head, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Nothing," he replies casually, his tone disarmingly nonchalant. "I mean, take all the time you need⊠Just try not to look too pitiful when we walk through those doors."Â
You roll your eyes, crossing your arms defensively over your chest. "Thanks for the vote of confidence."
As the chauffeur stops and opens the door for you, signaling your arrival at the event, Minghao's voice cuts through the silence.
"Hand," he says simply, holding out his hand towards you.
You raise an eyebrow, shooting him a skeptical look. "Excuse me?" you reply, not quite sure you heard him correctly.
Minghao's lips twitch into a smirk as he repeats himself, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. "I said, hand," he repeats, his tone playful yet insistent.
You fight the urge to roll your eyes at his audacity, but begrudgingly, you reach out and grab his hand, almost aggressively. His grin widens as he intertwines his fingers with yours, the touch surprisingly delicate despite the underlying tension between you.
As you and Minghao step into the event, hand in hand, you can feel the weight of your parents' surprised stares on you. Their eyebrows shoot up in disbelief at the sight of you two holding hands, a rare display of unity between the two families.
Minghao squeezes your hand gently, a small smirk playing on his lips as he catches your parents' reaction. "See?" he murmurs softly, leaning in close to you. "It's easy. A little thing like this makes them happy."
You can't help but feel a surge of resentment bubbling up inside you at his words. Easy for him to say, you think bitterly. He's always been the one who effortlessly falls into line, who knows exactly how to play the game to get what he wants.
But despite your inner turmoil, you force a tight smile and nod in agreement, not wanting to cause a scene in front of your parents. "Yeah, easy," you echo, your voice strained as you try to keep up the facade.
As the long-winded speeches from the ambassadors drone on, you find yourself sinking deeper into your chair, exhaustion weighing heavily on your shoulders. Minghao leans in close, his voice a soft whisper against your ear as he asks if you want something from the bar. You shake your head, declining his offer with a tired sigh.
He nods in understanding and excuses himself, disappearing into the crowd for a moment. But as the minutes drag on and the speech finally reaches its conclusion, Minghao still hasn't returned. Your eyes scan the room, searching for any sign of him, and that's when you spot her â a woman leaning in close to him, her body language oozing with flirtation.
Your stomach churns with a mix of anger and disbelief. What does she think she's doing? That's your husband she's flirting with, for crying out loud. You glance down at your wedding ring, then back at Minghao, then down at your ring again, the weight of it heavy on your finger.
You can feel the heat rising in your cheeks as you stand up from the table, your movements cautious as you make your way over to them. Fuck, you hate that you're doing this right now, but you can't just sit idly by while some random woman tries to make a move on your husband.
Minghao's eyes widen in surprise as he catches sight of your determined gaze, and for a brief moment, you almost feel guilty for interrupting. But then you remember who you are â his wife â and the guilt fades away, replaced by a steely resolve.
"I have a wife," Minghao's voice cuts through the air, firm and unwavering, as you approach him and the woman who's been flirting with him. His words send a jolt of surprise through you, momentarily halting your steps.
But before you can even react, Minghao continues, his tone tinged with irritation, "And she's storming over here, so please, just leave me alone."
"Hi, Hao," you greet Minghao as you finally reach him, unable to hide the hint of irritation in your voice. "You took a long time. What happened?"
Minghao's eyes widen slightly at your abrupt approach, and he stammers for a moment before the woman beside him interjects, "Oh, she's your friend?"
Minghao's response is immediate and almost defensive. "No, I don't know her," he says quickly, his tone betraying his discomfort.
You can't help but suppress a smirk at his awkwardness, feeling a small surge of satisfaction at seeing him squirm. "Nice to meet you," you say smoothly, extending your hand to the woman. "I'm Mrs. Xu."
The woman's eyes widen in surprise as she takes your hand, clearly caught off guard by your assertive introduction. "Oh, um, nice to meet you too," she replies, her voice slightly shaky.
You turn your attention back to Minghao, noting the relief in his eyes as you come to his "rescue." Poor Minghao, you think to yourself, feeling a twinge of sympathy for him despite your earlier annoyance. He clearly didn't know how to handle the situation, and the sight of you coming to his aid seems to help him breathe a little easier.
The woman walks away, leaving you and Minghao standing there in the aftermath of the awkward encounter. You turn to him, your expression a mix of frustration and concern.
"Come on, Minghao," you begin, your voice low but firm. "You need to know how to handle situations like that. What if people who know our family saw that? It could cause all sorts of rumors and complications."
Minghao's jaw tightens as he meets your gaze, a flicker of defensiveness in his eyes. "I didn't ask for her to approach me," he retorts, his tone defensive. "I told her I have a wife. What more do you want from me?"
You let out a frustrated sigh, running a hand through your hair as you try to keep your temper in check. "I just want you to be more aware of how your actions reflect on both of us," you reply, your voice tinged with exasperation. "We're married, Minghao. That means we have to think about each other's reputations and how our behavior affects them."
Minghao's expression softens slightly at your words, but there's still a stubborn set to his jaw as he crosses his arms over his chest. "I know that," he says, his voice quieter now, more subdued. "But sometimes things happen, and I can't control them."
You shake your head, feeling a surge of frustration rising within you. "That's not an excuse, Minghao," you say firmly. "We both have to do better if we want this marriage to work. We have to be a team."
Minghao's lips twitch into a smirk of his own, a challenge flashing in his eyes as he steps closer to you. "Oh, is that so, Mrs. Xu?" he replies, his voice dripping with mock innocence. "And what exactly would it take for me to earn back the privilege of being called by my first name?"
You roll your eyes, unable to suppress a laugh at his cheekiness. "Maybe if you stopped getting yourself into awkward situations with random women at parties," you shoot back, unable to resist the opportunity for a playful jab.
Minghao feigns offense, placing a hand over his heart in mock hurt. "Hey now, that wasn't entirely my fault," he protests, a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "Besides, you were the one who came to my rescue, remember?"
Minghao's playful grin falters as you shoot him a pointed look, hands firmly planted on your hips. "Am I wrong now? What should I do then?" you challenge, your tone laced with frustration.
He shrugs, his expression sheepish as he searches for an answer. "You need to make them know I'm your husband," he suggests vaguely, a glimmer of uncertainty in his eyes.
You narrow your gaze, a surge of determination coursing through you as you follow his line of sight to the woman who had been eyeing him earlier. She's still watching him, her gaze lingering a little too long for your liking.
"Fine then," you declare, your jaw set in determination. Without another word, you reach out and grab Minghao by the collar of his shirt, pulling him closer to you. Before he can protest, you press your lips to his in a firm, possessive kiss.
For a moment, Minghao freezes, his hands hovering uncertainly in the air. But then, as if realizing what's happening, he responds eagerly, his hands finding your waist as he pulls you closer, his fingers tangling in your hair as the kiss deepens.
You trail kisses along his neck, feeling a low hum of satisfaction reverberate through him. His hands tighten around your waist, pulling you closer as you continue to explore the sensitive skin of his neck with your lips.
When you pull back slightly, his eyes meet yours, a hint of mischief dancing in their depths. You reach up and gently tug on his bottom lip, a silent invitation for him to surrender completely to the passion between you.
Minghao's lips part in response, his eyes darkening with desire as he leans in to capture your mouth in another searing kiss. You can feel the heat of his body against yours, the intensity of the moment threatening to consume you both.
As you finally break the kiss, your lips swollen and tingling with the taste of him, you look at his face, satisfied with your handiwork. His lips, jaw, and neck are adorned with smudges of your red lipstick, a visible testament that being arranged or not, he is your husband.
With a mischievous glint in your eyes, you reach out and grab Minghao by the tie, tugging him gently but firmly in the direction of the exit. His eyebrows shoot up in surprise at your sudden assertiveness, but he follows your lead without hesitation.
As you walk through the party, you make no effort to hide the fact that you're leading Minghao out by his tie. You want everyone to see, especially that woman who dared to flirt with him earlier. With each step, you feel a surge of satisfaction knowing that you're marking your territory, making it abundantly clear to anyone watching that Minghao belongs to you.
People turn to look as you pass by, their curious glances met with a confident smile from you and a sheepish grin from Minghao. You hold your head high, your grip on his tie unwavering as you guide him through the crowd.
Finally, you reach the exit, and with one last glance around the room, you pull Minghao outside, the cool night air washing over you both. Alone at last, you turn to him with a victorious smirk.
"Well, that was fun," you say, a hint of laughter in your voice as you release his tie. "But I think we've made our point. Shall we get out of here?"
Minghao chuckles, shaking his head in amusement as he takes your hand in his. "Absolutely," he replies, a warmth in his eyes as he looks at you. "Anywhere you want to go, Mrs. Xu."
As soon as you step through the door of your home, you're wrapped up in a frenzy of passionate kisses with Minghao. Clothes, shoes, and his tie fly off haphazardly as you stumble towards the nearest surface, unable to keep your hands off each other.
Between kisses, Minghao pulls back slightly, his lips brushing against your neck as he speaks. "I didn't know you were that jealous," he murmurs, a hint of amusement in his voice.
You hiss in response, your breath catching in your throat as his lips trail along your skin. "I wasn't jealous," you protest, your voice tinged with frustration. "I was just...rescuing you, you bastard!"
Minghao laughs at your outburst, the sound sending shivers down your spine. "Hmm, just like a predator," he teases, his hands roaming over your body with a newfound confidence.
You scoff at his comment, a smirk playing at the corners of your lips. "You've seen nothing yet," you reply, meeting his gaze with a challenge in your eyes.
Minghao's eyes light up with excitement as he looks at you, a playful glint in his eyes. "Yeah?" he asks, his voice low and husky.
"Yeah," you confirm with a smirk, pulling him in for another kiss.
But then, his hand moves to the top of your head, gently guiding you downwards until your knees find the ground. You look up at him with a mixture of desire and anticipation, your breath coming in shallow gasps as you eagerly await his next move.
With a shaky breath, Minghao pulls himself free from his pants, his cock standing proudly before you. You wrap your hand around it, feeling the heat and hardness of him beneath your touch. A wicked grin plays at your lips as you tap the tip of his cock against your face, biting your lip in anticipation.
Minghao lets out a shaky moan at the provocative sight before him, his eyes dark with desire as he watches you. "Fuck, you're so damn sexy," he groans, his voice rough with need. "You know exactly what you're doing to me, don't you?"
You smirk up at him, your hand still wrapped around his cock as you tease him with your lips. "Mmm, maybe," you purr, your voice dripping with seduction. "But I want to hear you say it. Tell me how much you want me, Minghao."
His breath hitches as he meets your gaze, his fingers tangling in your hair as he guides you closer to him. "I want you more than anything," he confesses, his voice thick with desire. "I need you, baby. Please, show me how much you want me too."
You eagerly lower your mouth onto Minghao's throbbing cock, sucking greedily as you take him deeper and deeper into your mouth. You can feel him thrusting his hips, the need for more driving him to move against you.
Your hands slide down to his thighs, giving him the freedom to move as he pleases. His fingers tangle in your hair, guiding your movements as he sets the pace, his hips rocking against you in a rhythm of his own making.
As you take him deeper, you close your eyes, relaxing your jaw to accommodate his length. Minghao's voice breaks through the haze of pleasure, his words a gentle reminder of his concern for your well-being.
"Tap if you need to breathe," he murmurs, his hand tightening in your ponytail as he continues to move his hips.
You press your hand against his thigh in affirmation, letting him know that you're okay as you continue to take him deeper, your throat working to accommodate his length. Minghao lets out a low groan of pleasure, his hips moving in tandem with your movements as you both chase the pinnacle of ecstasy.
Between thrusts, Minghao's voice fills the air with a husky whisper. "God, you feel so fucking good," he moans, his words driving you to take him even deeper. "You're amazing, baby. Just keep going, just like that."
As Minghao's cock throbs in your mouth, you feel a surge of pleasure coursing through you, your senses overwhelmed by the intensity of the moment. Drool drips from your chin, a testament to your eagerness and arousal, as you continue to take him deeper, your mouth working tirelessly to please him.
With each throb of his cock, you can feel the tension building, the heat of his arousal radiating through you. Your eyes roll back in your head, lost in a haze of pleasure as you surrender yourself completely to the ecstasy of the moment.
And as Minghao's cock pulses in your mouth, you know that you've pushed him to the edge, his release imminent. With one final throb, he cries out your name, his body tensing as he spills his cum into your waiting mouth.
You swallow eagerly, savoring the taste of him. You moan softly as Minghao's lips meet yours again, the taste of him still lingering on your tongue, and he slowly guides you towards his room.
As you fall onto the bed, Minghao's fingers trace lazy patterns along your inner thighs, making you squirm beneath his touch, unable to hide your arousal as he gazes down at you with dark, hungry eyes.
"You're so wetâŠ" he murmurs, his voice thick with desire as he continues to tease you with his fingers.
Minghao's lips curl into a smug grin as his fingers trailing lower until they reach the damp fabric of your panties. With agonizing slowness, he begins to peel them away, revealing your glistening folds to his hungry gaze.
"Tell me what you want, baby" he whispers, his voice a low growl in your ear as he leans in close. "Tell me how you want me to make you feel."
You arch your back, aching for his touch as you meet his gaze with a sultry smirk. "I want your fingers inside me, Minghao" you breathe, your voice dripping with desire. "I want you to make me come so fucking hard"
Minghao's eyes darken with lust as he hears your words, his fingers finding their way to your slick entrance. With a wicked grin, he plunges his slender fingers deep inside you, his touch sending sparks of pleasure shooting through your body.
And then, just when you think you can't take any more, he finds it â that deep spot that sends electric jolts shooting through you. Your pussy clenches around his fingers in response, a desperate attempt to hold your orgasm.
But Minghao isn't finished yet. With a wicked grin, he leans in close, his hot breath ghosting over your ear as he whispers his intentions. "You're not going to cum yet," he murmurs. "Let me hit that spot with my cock, then you can cream around it as much as you want."
Your breath catches in your throat at his words, with the promise of what's going to come. With a nod of agreement, you bite your lip in anticipation, eager for the moment when Minghao will fuck you with his cock.
As Minghao positions himself above you, his gaze locked with yours in a silent promise of pleasure to come, you sneak a peek at his cock. It's long, with bulging veins and dripping with pre-cum, making it clear he's rock hard and ready to go. The contrast with his slender body just makes it look even bigger.
Before you can even think of a response, Minghao speaks up, his voice low and husky. "You ready for me, baby?" he asks, his eyes smoldering with desire.
You open your mouth to reply, but before you can get a word out, his cock is stretching you out, leaving you breathless and speechless as he fills you completely.
As soon as Minghao finds your g'spot, your pussy immediately tightens around him, milking him with such intensity that he has to hold himself back from coming right then and there. His pretty moans only serve to heighten your own arousal, making it even harder for you to hold back your impending orgasm.
"Fuck, you're so tight," he groans, his voice strained with pleasure as he tries to control himself. He hopes that you'll stop clenching, but as soon as he hits that spot again, he hisses in response, the sensation driving him wild.
Realizing that he's in danger of cumming too early, Minghao decides to focus on fucking you in just the right way, hitting that spot with precision and intensity. He squirms, desperate for you to climax first, knowing that your pleasure will only fuel his own.
With each thrust, each movement, the pleasure builds between you, reaching a fever pitch that threatens to consume you both. Minghao's hips move in a steady rhythm, his cock driving deeper and deeper into you with each thrust, his own pleasure mounting with each passing second.
And then, finally, it happens. You reach the peak of ecstasy, your body shaking with the force of your orgasm as pleasure washes over you in relentless waves. Your pussy clenches around Minghao's cock, milking him for all he's worth as he loses control, his own release crashing over him in a tidal wave of pleasure.
With a tired groan, Minghao collapses beside you, his body spent from the intensity of your shared passion. He turns to you with a lazy smile, his eyes twinkling with satisfaction.
"If I'd known all it took to get you to kiss me was making you jealous, I would've done it ages ago," he teases, his voice laced with amusement.
You roll your eyes, a playful smirk tugging at the corners of your lips. "I wasn't jealous," you protest, crossing your arms over your chest.
Minghao raises an eyebrow, his expression incredulous. "Imagine if you were then" he scoffs, his tone teasing. "I don't think we'd be here right now if you weren't just a little bit jealous."
You huff in mock indignation, but deep down, you know he's right.
ou nudge Minghao playfully, a smile dancing on your lips. "Well, lucky for you, a little jealousy was all it took," you quip, teasing him.
He chuckles softly, his eyes sparkling as he gazes at you. "I guess I'll have to remember that for next time," he replies, his voice tinged with amusement.
You laugh, shaking your head in mock exasperation. "Oh, so there's going to be a next time now?" you tease, raising an eyebrow.
Minghao grins, leaning in closer to you. "Count on it," he murmurs, his voice low and husky as he brushes his lips against yours.

on coffee and confessions
Pairing: xmh x reader | wc: 1k a/n: based on that one tiktok trend where people ask their significant others to make them a coffee // I am so late but - happy (belated) birthday minghao i adore you
The first gentle rays of dawn peek through your window, casting a golden hue over the tangled sheets and throwing soft, shifting shadows across the room. Youâre not fully awake yet, lying in the delicious limbo between sleep and consciousness, cocooned in the warmth of the bed and Minghaoâs steady presence beside you.
His arm is slung over your waist, anchoring you against him, and you feel his breath fanning lightly against your neck, a slow and steady rhythm that mirrors your own. His legs are tangled up with yours beneath the blankets, every inch of him pressed close, as if even in sleep, heâs instinctively reaching out to keep you near. You shift slightly, just enough to pull him closer, and you feel him stir, his fingers instinctively tracing little, sleepy circles along your hip as he presses his face further into the curve of your neck.
A lazy smile tugs at your lips, and you let out a soft, breathy laugh. He hums in response, his lips brushing against the skin of your shoulder as he lets out a long, contented sigh, seeming to wake up just enough to squeeze you tighter. âGood morning,â he murmurs, voice thick and warm with sleep, a sound so comforting it wraps around you like the blankets youâre both cocooned in.
âGood morning,â you whisper back, closing your eyes and savoring the cozy quiet of the early morning, feeling like the world beyond these four walls doesnât exist. His hand moves up to your back, fingers gliding softly over your spine, tracing invisible patterns that make you shiver, and you feel a little thrill at how easily he knows just how to make you melt.
In a lazy, playful tone, you ask, âHey, baby, would you make me a cup of coffee?â Thereâs no rush behind your words, no real expectationâjust the gentle banter that comes with mornings like this.
You feel him pause behind you, and he shifts, lifting his head just enough to look down at you, an amused glint in his barely-open eyes. âCoffee?â he echoes, his voice lilting with that endearing mix of surprise and mischief that always manages to make your heart skip a beat.
Then, without warning, he leans in closer, brushing a trail of soft kisses from your shoulder to the curve of your neck, pausing to nuzzle his nose against your skin. You giggle, helpless against the tickling warmth of his breath, and he lets out a low laugh, savoring your reaction.
âBeloved,â he says, his voice a soft murmur in your ear, holding that playful, poetic tone he uses when heâs in the mood to make you blush, âif you but asked, I would rearrange the very heavens so that the stars spelled your name. I would carve your likeness onto the face of the moon so that everyone who looked into the night sky would know the joy I feel when I look at you.â
Your cheeks heat up, and you canât hold back a grin, biting your lip as you meet his gaze, his words sinking into you like honey. âYouâre ridiculous,â you whisper, but thereâs no real protest behind it. Youâre too charmed, too wrapped up in the intensity of his gaze, the softness in his touch.
He just raises an eyebrow, feigning surprise. âWhat, you donât believe me?â he asks, his voice light and teasing. But before you can respond, heâs shifting again, propping himself up on one elbow, leaning over you so that his face is only inches from yours.
âIâd do anything for you,â he murmurs, his voice softer now, no trace of the earlier humorâjust a steady, quiet sincerity that steals your breath. âIf a cup of coffee is all you want, itâs yours. But if you asked me to give you the whole sky⊠the gods themselves would find themselves slain at my hand if they tried to stop me.â
Youâre silent, momentarily struck by the intensity in his gaze, the raw honesty of his words. He reaches up, his thumb brushing softly over your cheek, and you lean into his touch, your heart thrumming at the tenderness in his eyes.
Unable to hold back, you reach up and pull him closer, your lips meeting his in a slow, lingering kiss. He kisses you back just as softly, savoring the moment, his hand resting lightly against the curve of your jaw as if youâre something precious, something he doesnât want to let go of.
After a long, quiet moment, he pulls back just enough to rest his forehead against yours, his eyes still closed, and youâre both quiet, breathing in sync as you stay tangled up in each other. Itâs the kind of morning that makes time feel like itâs stretching on forever, where you could stay wrapped up in him like this, in the warmth and softness of the moment, for as long as you like.
He lets out a long, contented sigh, finally opening his eyes to meet yours again, his expression so full of quiet affection it makes you feel like you could melt. âSo,â he says, the corners of his mouth quirking up into a smirk, âabout that coffee?â
You laugh, rolling your eyes as you playfully nudge him. âAll that, and youâre still leaving me to get it myself?â
He chuckles, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you close, resting his chin atop your head. âAlright, alright,â he says, finally untangling himself from the blankets as he sits up, stretching with a soft groan before leaning back down to press a gentle kiss to your forehead. âOne coffee, coming right up.â
As he slips out of bed and heads for the kitchen, you watch him go, feeling a warmth that has nothing to do with the morning sun spilling across the room. He glances back over his shoulder, catching your gaze with a soft smile before he disappears around the corner, and you find yourself smiling back, your heart full in a way that words canât describe.

Seventeen when you're sick
Genre: comfort
A/N: This is my first time attempting a reaction. This is written vaguely to see if I like this style of writing, but Iâm open to the possibility of writing more specific reactions.Â
This is entirely self-indulgent, as Iâm home sick with a terrible UTI. Pray for me or something.Â
Seungcheol
Almost immediately puts you in the car to take you to the doctor. Man is stubborn and wonât accept any arguments today (at least until a professional confirms itâs nothing serious). Heâs a natural caretaker, so expect to be forced back into bed with whatever medicine and fluids the doctor orders. And it will take very little pouting to get him to get back into bed and cuddle with you because heâs totally wrapped around your finger.Â
Jeonghan
Honestly knew you were going to be sick before you did. Youâve been sluggish for days and complaining about little things, so he stops on his way home from work to pick up a few things - a few types of medications, some stuff to make soup, and maybe even a cute plushie to cheer you up. He will refuse to acknowledge any of this work as he unceremoniously drops the bags onto the table and practically starts throwing things at you. He will still be a menace regardless of his concern, particularly when you ask for cuddles. Heâll push you away at first, calling you gross, but one sad look from you has him folding onto the couch with you.Â
Joshua
Another one thatâs observant enough to know youâre coming down with something. Wonât force you to the doctor right away like someone (*cough* Seungcheol), but will play nurse for as long as you need. Youâre actually pretty endeared by it because you hardly have to ask for anything. Cough? Heâs handing you some gross syrup that he promises will help. Headache? Heâs handing you a couple ibuprofen. Stomach bug? Heâs already holding back your hair. *sigh*
Jun
I mean this with so much love, but he might be a little oblivious. I mean, he asks how youâre doing single everyday, but if you say that youâre fine, heâll take your word for it. So imagine his surprise when he pops in to visit you at work one free afternoon and realizes you arenât there. When he finds you at home piled up on the couch in a sea of tissues, he panics a little. This is one that requires a bit of hand holding. But heâll do anything to help you feel better. All you have to do is ask.Â
Hoshi
Totally out of his element. Youâre going to have to hold his hand quite a bit at first because he might not know what you need. But his enthusiasm is overwhelming the moment he has a task he can do for you. Heâll run to the pharmacy. Heâll call his mom for a soup recipe. You guys are watching whatever you want to watch on TV, even if you fall asleep on him within the first ten minutes of it. Heâs really so sweet, he just doesnât want to mess up or make you feel worse.Â
Wonwoo
Another one that knew something was coming. Over the few days before you really crash, heâs asking how youâre feeling and youâre confused. You feel fine, just a little run down. And then you wake up the next day and realize why he was asking. Heâs so casual about taking care of you and he refuses to hear any compliments or thanks about it. Heâs nearly scolding you as he wraps a blanket around you on the couch, saying thatâs what a good boyfriend is supposed to do and you should NOT be thanking him for the bare minimum.Â
Woozi
Actually feels terrible because he was running late for a date with you and totally missed your text cancelling. When he shows up at your door, heâs confused because youâre in your pajamas with a box of tissues. This is another one thatâs a little out of his element. He feels a little awkward about fumbling through your kitchen and your medicine cabinet, but his heart is absolutely in the right place. When you tell him that some cuddles are really all you need, he relaxes. He can do that part, no problem.
DK
The drama. The theatrics. He googles your symptoms and has become convinced youâre dying. YOU have to make him go to the doctor with you to confirm that itâs not that serious. You know his heart is in the right place, but there might be times you have to downplay your symptoms to get him to relax. Heâs a very empathetic person and when youâre suffering, heâs suffering. Put the poor guy out of his misery and get well soon. Â
Mingyu
A chance to prove that he is total husband material? Okay! Donât get me wrong, he doesnât like you being sick, but he LOVES taking care of you. Another one that seems to anticipate your every need. And talk about clingy. Does not give a flying fuck about getting sick because he will be up in your space unless you ask him to leave. Heâs always wrapped around you in bed or on the couch anyway, and your fever or snotty nose will not stop him. If you do happen to ask for space because youâre too uncomfortable, heâll give puppy eyes and begrudgingly stay on his side of the bed. Even from a distance, heâll do little things to soothe you though, like smoothing out your hair or rubbing your back until you can sleep.Â
The8
This is cliche, but you tried tea? You almost smack him when he recommends it. You donât want any fucking tea, you want a magical cure right this second. But heâs insistent and you begrudgingly accept whatever he hands you. He does the typical soups and medicines too, of course, but youâre having like 10 cups of tea a day. And damn it if it doesnât help. He smirks when you say you donât feel like you need another dose of medicine right now but saves his âI told you soâ until you're fully recovered.Â
Seungkwan
Do you want to be lectured? You will be - with so much love and concern, of course. You've been overworking yourself lately. You shouldnât have gone to bed with wet hair. You should be drinking more water. Heâs borderline angry as he shoves a thermometer under your tongue and gives you a fever reducer. You can see right through it that itâs coming from a place of concern, but youâre feeling sensitive, so it takes a single watery look at him before heâs huffing and flopping into bed with you to cuddle you back to health.Â
Vernon
He someone that seems to thrive on independence and that extends to giving you room for independence too. So when you say youâre sick, heâd be careful not to assume that youâre helpless. Still, heâs worried so heâll quietly do things around the house to make things easier for you. Dishes and laundry are done. The medicine cabinet is stocked. Your water bottle is constantly full. You might be on your own as far as cooking goes, but heâll do everything else without really thinking about it.
Dino
I'm convinced heâd love to baby his partner. Heâs cooing at the slightest sniffle and rubbing your sore muscles. Heâll do the typical medicine and soup thing, but he really goes above and beyond with the physical comfort, to whatever extent you allow him to. Baby really just hates to see you suffer and will do whatever you need to get you back to full health so he can baby you the regular amount again.Â
