Princess Cross of Arlendor

Cross has a tall, disciplined build and wears military-style dress robes that reflect his soldierly upbringing, with polished black and silver tones that give him a formidable appearance. His face is stern, marked by a scar over his right eye.. His diadem is plain and tall with spikes, and one that comes down over the bridge of his nose. he arrives to the ball wearing war paint in purple. he has a large fur lines cloak that he wears often, bundling himself up in it most of the time, and appearing as just a solid shape of fur.

Cross is obedient to a fault, raised to see emotions as weaknesses and to fulfil his duties without complaint. He hides any sign of fear or sorrow, pushing down his emotions as he was trained. Despite this, Cross has a kind heart that he rarely lets show, expressing his feelings in private moments when he thinks no one is watching.

At first, Cross views his role as a suitor as just another duty to fulfil, but he’s surprised when Nightmare shows kindness. Nightmare senses the reluctance and pain Cross tries to hide, and he encourages him to express himself. Over time, Cross begins to open up, letting himself be vulnerable in a way he never could back home. Nightmare’s respect for Cross’s strength helps him feel more at ease in his own 'skin'.

Cross is initially distant, but Horror’s quiet kindness allows him to relax a bit, and the two begin training together.

Killer’s teasing annoys him, yet Cross learns to tolerate it, eventually growing amused by his jokes, especially when Killer aims them at others.

With Dust, Cross feels a kinship; their silences become a shared space of unspoken understanding, and he feels a quiet responsibility for Dust’s well-being.

Arlendor is renowned for its martial prowess, producing some of the greatest soldiers and strategists in the world. It’s a proud kingdom, highly disciplined, and boasts the strongest military force among the neighbouring regions. The people of Arlendor have a fierce sense of loyalty, valuing honour above all else.

Training is central to Arlendorian life, with children taught combat from a young age. Nobility often hosts tournaments to celebrate feats of strength, with victors earning respect and titles. The kingdom celebrates the Festival of Blades annually, a day of duels and contests that the people eagerly anticipate.

Arlendor worships the Iron Path, a doctrine that values strength, discipline, and sacrifice. Temples dedicated to the god of valour, Enfor, are few but grand, and offerings include weapons, battle standards, and symbols of victory.

King Valour reigns over Arlendor, a stoic and rigid man who enforces discipline among his people and family. Cross was raised with strict values, taught to prioritize his kingdom over himself. He is one of several siblings, though his siblings are either too young or already serving in the army. This structure makes a kingdom in constant need of capable leaders, where the royal family itself is militarized to ensure security and readiness.

Arlendor’s architecture is strictly functional, with towering stone fortresses and fortified walls. The kingdom is built in a valley surrounded by high, rocky mountains, with narrow passageways that can be easily defended. Homes and buildings are made of sturdy stone with limited embellishments, making the kingdom look as resilient as its people. The majority of the kingdom all live within a fortified settlement, with large brick towers and walls surrounding them, to keep them in, and others out. the only exception to this is a small, similar structure further west of the Grounds, where a village of people live.

Clothing in Arlendor is durable and simple. Soldiers and nobles alike wear layered wool, leather, and furs, designed for movement and protection. The only decorations are often symbols of rank, such as fur linings or metal clasps, and soldiers bear the kingdom’s crest on their uniforms.

Arlendor’s valley is shielded from harsh weather, making it cold but manageable. The winters are severe, though, with snowfall that can isolate villages for weeks. This cold climate has fostered a culture of practicality, with clothing designed to hold up under heavy use.

Arlendor’s people subsist mainly on hardy grains, root vegetables, and preserved meats. The diet is simple but hearty, with emphasis on long-lasting foods that can be easily rationed. The scarcity of fresh foods makes feasts rare, and common foods include stews, hearty bread, and salted meats.

Flora in Arlendor is minimal due to the rocky soil, though juniper, pine, and hardy alpine plants grow in abundance. Their dyes come from these natural sources, so clothing colours are typically muted, including shades of brown, grey, and dark green. The kingdom’s animals include mountain goats, wolves, and large hawks, all symbols of strength and resilience in Arlendor’s culture.

i FEEL BAD for not fully rendering Cross' drawings here! but i just got so fed up, so its sketchy lines and limited shading for the babygirl. i have technically already drawn him a thingie out so... i also did trace over his face from the other image because FUCK that. still MY art, but yeh.

On break so y'all get to listen to me rant abt the teen au boys (which is kinda just their backgrounds and random facts but whatev)

(I started this while on break but I only get 30mins and I'm a slow typer so had to finish it at home :'D)

Cross grew up in a strict, Christian household. To the outside, him and his family seemed like the most perfect, loving family. (They were wrong, dun dun duuuunnnn) XGaster doesn't pay attention to his kids, and just focuses on his work and making sure him and his family maintain their "perfect" lifestyle. During Cross' time in church, he became friends with Nightmare and Epic (who appears shortly I'm working on a design for him now dw), who also grew up going to church. It's very common for Cross to get grounded, or get into fights with his father (that end up with him grounded anyway), but don't worry, his boys are always willing to sneak him out. It's not uncommon for Cross to just up and leave his house for a day or so after an argument with his father, and if that happens, he stays with Nightmare, who is arguably Cross' best friend.

Nightmare, as said before, also grew up in church, but didn't attend as often, as his mother, Nim, was often busy with work. Nightmare has been known in his group as the one to be able to sweet-talk the others' parents into letting them attend things or just simply hang out (Cross is grateful for this). Due to their background and who his mother is, Nightmare is seen by the others' parents as the good example, and is very trustworthy. As of now, Nightmare's the only one of the group who knows how to drive, and he even has their own car, because of this, he's always driving around the others (another reason they're trusted by the others' parents)

Killer grew up in an unhealthy living environment, not only is his house always dirty and rundown, but their father is verbally and (partially) physically abusive to him, aswell as neglectful. In the past, due to home troubles, Killer has run away a few times, their first time doing this being when they were 7. When Killer was about 13, his father had hurt them pretty badly, and in the dead of night, he ran. He didn't bother putting on shoes, a jacket, nothing, hell he was in a t-shirt and shorts. While running, they ran into Nightmare, who was on a late-night walk. Nightmare helped him, and they became friends (and then they would soon be introduced to the others). While Nightmare is the good influence, Killer's the bad, and XGaster doesn't approve of him, but only tolerates Killer and Cross' friendship because he believes Nightmare can balance them out.

Dust grew up in a neglectful household aswell. His dad is an alcoholic that rarely leaves his room, and he never knew his mother, but Dust has grown indifferent to it. Due to the easy access to alcohol, Dust is always the one bringing it to their hangouts. He's a frequent guest to the Dreamtale household, because not only is it a regular thing for Dust to be locked out of his own home, but Nightmare just prefers he stays with them. Dust is selectively mute, and only really talks to his group and Nim (Because she's very caring to Dust, and he's grown attached to her, and comfortable around her). Due to Dust's living situation, the fact he's "living off of Nightmare", his appearance, and attitude, XGaster doesn't approve of him (But, like Killer, XGaster tolerates him because Nightmare's around).

Horror grew up in a poor household, unable to afford basic necessities like food, hygienic products, and basic utilities, and it's not uncommon for things like water, electricity, or gas to be shut off due to being unable to pay for it. It's very rarely that Horror gets a proper meal, not only because of the lack of funds, but he lets his younger brother get his fill of breakfast/lunch/dinner, while he gets the scraps. No matter how hungry Horror is afterwards, and how much he wishes he could actually eat, he wouldn't dare change a thing, as he's always put his brother's needs before his own. After joining Nightmare's little group, and Nightmare hearing of Horror's living situation, Nightmare (of course) cooks Horror meals when he's over, and makes sure he has enough to bring home some for his family too (which they were very grateful for), the first time they'd done this, Horror broke down, and now sees Nightmare as his closest friend. While Horror's a complete sweetheart, XGaster believes because of his living environment, he "must be some delinquent", so XGaster doesn't approve of him aswell as Dust and Killer (But, as usual, is only tolerated because of Nightmare).

Another Uncle for Splatter?

No everyone your eyes do not deceive you, It’s Splattertale Cross!! With a, bit of an outfit change. He’s not super important or involved with the main plot, but he’s still present in Splatter’s life as another Uncle figure for her! (Blame Ink for that)

oh and XChara. They’re here too. (They refuse to be involved with/attached to Splatter but are forced to be around her anyway. Such is life when you share a soul)

Our favourite Oreo skeleton has had a bit of a different path in this multiverse than in his canon. I call it the “Cross Good Ending” or the “Cross Gets Therapy arc”. Because yes he (and Chara) does get therapy. As they currently stand the two of them are living in the Omega timeline, doing their best to process and move on from the horrors of Xtale (and their actions and unhealthy alliances they made after the fact cough cough Nightmare’s gang). While not a member of the Star Sanses by any means, Cross is still an ally to and good friends with them. Especially Ink and Dream.

His hack knife is now combined with those bone(?)-dagger things he’s got, with the function of both combined and intact. It can split into two smaller versions of itself and recombine as needed.

So yeah! This is a bit of a random and sudden post but I felt like giving the guy an outfit upgrade to suit his current situation in my story, and you guys get some lore out if it too!

XGaster is obsessed with Experiments after all, but he does have a mission and time, so I'll leave that open for interpretation for now.

Kui is my sona, that's how I describe myself on the internet, she was inspired by Xtale and underverse, she is a half-breed of the monster and human race and is one of the Creators AU, she has the power to create and overwrite, and change her appearance to more human or monster (since she is a half-breed) this can be called camouflage so that in some AU they don't ask questions about her very possibility of existence (I haven't thought about making her appearance in the form of a full-fledged monster race yet), she can take and break all the boundaries and templates, for example, fights in the same games like Deltarune and Undertale, she is a MultiFandomest and her height is 169 cm. Her arms are like a continuation of her sleeves, she physically doesn't have eyes, but she can see, unlike the author of sona (me), she has good athletic skills, with the help of her hands (claws), for example, when lowering or falling, can use them to cling to walls deep enough to stand level as if on the ground and slow down speed, takes inspiration from Xgaster and has alternative versions of himself like the same Sans (Fell!kui and Epic!kui are already official versions of alternatives from other AUs), can be created from paper with a full-length character and his written characteristics (paper copies will remain), if there is no design or character, there will simply be a glitch about the fact that operation.create.exe failed, has a sweet tooth and is a big fan of chocolate, does not prefer violence and considers it childish stupidity, can reason like in the game and has a slogan of accepting oneself as "being weird-its normal, being normal-its weird" (in the sense of accepting yourself as you are, becoming better and loving yourself and your life). that's all for now :3 Thanks for asking!!!!!

I HAVE A SERIOUS QUESTION CONCERNING MY BOY

Is cross scared of cows in general, or just the patterns of the typical cartoon cow? Or a specific gender?

When people put cross in a bovine situation, the cows always look the same. White with black spots and female. I honestly have never seen cross be put with cows of any other size, shape, gender, or pattern than the stereotypical cow.

How does he feel about miniature cows? About bulls, or other patterns?

The logical conclusion would be “yes, all cows”, but with how generic and base level every cow he’s been shoved against is, its hard to say for certain.

I want to see more variety with the cows cross is to be tormented with. Let the man be terrified by a tiny little teacup cow, I want to see it.

SO, there is a bunch of lore going on there actually, i HIGHLY recommend you to go through my instagram highlights named “favorites” because it’s filled to the top with hundreds of drawings and comics of “sunster” (the ship name… yeah…)

Actually, all my tumblr posts are the salvageable crumbs of my instagram comics, here I post a 5% of everything I draw.

STORY-WISE, yeah, he is based on my favorite depictions of WD Gaster, either xtale Gaster, handplates Gaster, Gaster bros-Gaster, rokoroko’s gaster, certain fanfics portrayals, etc. etc…

The story follows a direction quite similar to handplates in certain parts, as in the war, the dreemurrs taking care of Gaster, and well- it never got to child torture, but let’s leave it at -not the best parenting- for his children.

For the ship dynamic, just imagine “the nanny” the tv show and you’ll have it summed up. I have quite a few texts and oneshots that describe the relationship but I always love for people to read my comics first!!!

As for the timeline alignment with the game… it’s rough. But I try my best to make it cohesive, but man does soriel not work here. (unless you don’t have a problem with a relationship of adoptive grandma x grandchild…so yeah…………no.)
