As someone who is a die-hard Underverse fan, I’d be happy to tell you!

I will note that this is a summary, so if anyone wants more detail, I recommend watching Xtale and/or Underverse on YouTube ^_^

WARNING: MAJOR Xtale & Underverse spoilers ahead, read at own risk!!

Xtale:

The story of Xtale is that first, XFrisk, XChara and XGaster exist and are shown AUs by Ink!Sans. XGaster has the power of OVERWRITE, a power to create and erase thing without the consequences of a RESET. No one remembers previous OVERWRITEs other than the initial three. Using this power, XGaster tried to create a perfect, single timeline, based of the other AUs Ink has showed him. He’s never truly happy with the timeline, so he OVERWRITEs again and again, each time tearing XFrisk and XChara away form the life they had know. This slowly drives them insane, and the children join forces to stop XGaster. Skip forward a few timelines to Timeline X - this is the timeline focused on mainly Cross (or XSans, as he’s known at the time) Frisk and Chara and now in the same body, instead of separate beings, with half of XGaster soul, other half of Chara’s soul, but the body of Frisk. Cross is in the Royal Guard, tasked with protecting XFrisk from attackers. XFrisk brings back Cross’ memories, forces Cross to fight him which earns Cross his new name and scar under his eye. The X-Event reactivates everyone’s memories of previous timelines and they all try to attack Cross. Believing he can bring them back his XGaster or Chara’s powers, he kills everyone. Ultimately, he’s wrong, and is left with only Chara’s determination in his dying body. I know that was probs not entirely accurate, I did it mostly from memory

Underverse:

Somehow, Cross intersected hai timeline with a pacifist Undertale timeline, who are now on the surface. Cross takes half of Classic Sans’ soul. Ink tried to stop him, but Cross gets away. Ink and Classic become friends, and Classic agrees to help Ink stop Cross. Ink tells Classic about Cross, about and he is alone in his blank AU. Ink noticed there’s something wrong with XTale and visits, but only sees Cross. Slowly, Ink befriends Cross, but they eventually fall out when Ink tells Cross he can’t bring back the dead.

One day, Nightmare find Cross through his negative emotions. They make a deal, so Cross can travel to other universe to steal their code to rebuild his world, so long as he creates negativity in the AUs he visits. Dream hears about the deal and tells Ink, who tries to find Cross. The first AU is Underfell. Cross meets UF!Sans (who I’ll call Edge) and they fight in an attempt to kill Cross. Without Edge knowing, every time he hurts Cross, Classic gets hit too. Cross gains an advantage, and takes control over Edge, using him as a pawn. Ink and Classic are drawn in and they four of them fight. Despite their efforts, Cross steals the core code of Snowdin and take sit to his AU. Mad at Cross, Edge decides to join Ink and Classic while they wait for Cross to appear in a new AU.

Next AU is Underswap, In which Cross meets Swap (US! Papyrus) and attacks the Queen, causing everyone to panic. This time, Ink meets his old friend Blue (US! Sans) and asks him for help to find Cross. When they’re eventually find him, the five of them go against Cross and knock him out very quickly. Classic takes his soul half back. Without that soul half, Cross is effectively dead, the body only being sustained by XCharas dying determination. US! Chara goes up to see the body, but theyre grabbed and XChara takes control and takes half of US! Chara’s soul. They now have to fight XChara, who has the power of OVERWRITE and help from Nightamre. As you can imagine, this makes them harder to beat. After take long the code of all the resident of Underswap, the world is destroyed leaving nothing but the ground. Swap sees there no hope for their world, and stays there with a dying US! Chara. Not wanting his brother to die as well, Swap urges Blue to go with Ink. He reluctantly agrees and leaves his brother and Chara is the dying Underswap timeline. Nightmare takes XChara back to XTale and introduces them to Killer, who going to help him get the second half of their soul

The group land in Outertale. Edge and Blue stay by the edge while Classic goes to see if Cross is in the AU. He comes across Outer (OT! Sans) and asks him to help look for Cross. Unfortunately, they come across Killer, Nightmare and XChara. They’re talking to Error who asked where Ink is. They notice Outer and Classic beside them and this doesn’t go well for Outer, as he tried to protect Classic but is killed by Killer (Poor Outer only got like 5 min of screen time ToT). Classic teleports back the Blue and Edge. But are found again by Error. Ink appears, off his paints so he can’t feel emotions, and they fight over Inks secret possession of… Half of XGasters soul! (dun dun dunnnn). Cue the most epic fight scene ever. Ink reveals that his secret plan all along was to help XGaster with the X-Event. XChara unstable determination withers away and he dies :( Newly-revived XGaster decides that Blue and Edge know too much, and they’re killed too :((. Classic is bought back to his timeline and XGaster decided to bring back Cross, saying none of this was his fault and everyone else who lived in Xtale (along with the two humans)

Back in Classics timeline, he tells Frisk where he had been and what had happened. Ink and XGatser go over the next part of their plan and XChara confronts Ink on how he betrayed everyone. Meanwhile Muffet and Mettaton and confronted by two pale Doppelgängers (XMuffet and XMettaton), who cause chaos in the surface city. (Not loads happened in this ep tbh)

Cross is taken to the Omega Timeline and meets Dream, who tries to help him but it brushed off when Cross storms away. Cross meets Epic and learns part of his memory has been erased by XGaster, which is why he doesn’t remember anyone from Epictale. My Despite the actions of Core Frisk and Epic, Cross was still angry so they leave him be. Overwhelmed by grief, the negative emotions alerted Nightmare and Killer and brought them to the Omega Timeline. It also alerted Dream as well. The four of them battled it out, Nightmare tying to get Cross to succumb to his emotions, Dream trying to be his salvation. Eventually, Dream and Cross win after a moment of acceptance, but Nightmare swears he’ll be back. After being healed, Cross is told he need to go to the Anti-void to meet with Ink, with Fresh as his escort. Episode ends here

Series ends here for now, again I apologise it may not be super accurate as I may have skipped over some detail or forgotten soemthing m, but I hope it helps anyways!

Another Uncle for Splatter?

No everyone your eyes do not deceive you, It’s Splattertale Cross!! With a, bit of an outfit change. He’s not super important or involved with the main plot, but he’s still present in Splatter’s life as another Uncle figure for her! (Blame Ink for that)

oh and XChara. They’re here too. (They refuse to be involved with/attached to Splatter but are forced to be around her anyway. Such is life when you share a soul)

Our favourite Oreo skeleton has had a bit of a different path in this multiverse than in his canon. I call it the “Cross Good Ending” or the “Cross Gets Therapy arc”. Because yes he (and Chara) does get therapy. As they currently stand the two of them are living in the Omega timeline, doing their best to process and move on from the horrors of Xtale (and their actions and unhealthy alliances they made after the fact cough cough Nightmare’s gang). While not a member of the Star Sanses by any means, Cross is still an ally to and good friends with them. Especially Ink and Dream.

His hack knife is now combined with those bone(?)-dagger things he’s got, with the function of both combined and intact. It can split into two smaller versions of itself and recombine as needed.

So yeah! This is a bit of a random and sudden post but I felt like giving the guy an outfit upgrade to suit his current situation in my story, and you guys get some lore out if it too!

sometimes i feel like swapinverse deviates too much from the concept i originally had (which is that character A goes through events that lead them to having one or more traits of character B) but then i remember that this is all not canon and this is MY CANON and it's all artistic liberty and i have free reign to change things if i think they're too boring or i just want a different aesthetic

nooo stop you can't change logic about the tree of feelings and make it so that the villagers are less hateful as a result to nightmare (melpomene :3) and then also have inspiration from greece that's weird- SHUT UP!!!!! if i want them being named after greek muses and gods and wear drapy loosely inspired clothing then i WILL!!!! normal dreamtale is too boring anyways it's just the sun and moon themes. there's a point where you can't just squeeze in sun and moon symbols without it getting repetitive and trashy

noooo stop you can't completely change the events of xtale/underverse and basically make cross (crash xD) a different character- YES I CAN!!!!!!!!! i mean like what the hell would even happen to xtale if ink didn't exist anyways. xgaster would kill himself?? THAT'S BORING and i needed to find a way to keep xgaster alive so cross can at least somewhat come fron xtale. anyways crash (and also siphon but he's a completely different story that doesn't deviate TOO much) feel very outlierish to me in terms of what they do (since they don't directly do what their character B traits are, those are just a byproduct of their actions)

Kui is my sona, that's how I describe myself on the internet, she was inspired by Xtale and underverse, she is a half-breed of the monster and human race and is one of the Creators AU, she has the power to create and overwrite, and change her appearance to more human or monster (since she is a half-breed) this can be called camouflage so that in some AU they don't ask questions about her very possibility of existence (I haven't thought about making her appearance in the form of a full-fledged monster race yet), she can take and break all the boundaries and templates, for example, fights in the same games like Deltarune and Undertale, she is a MultiFandomest and her height is 169 cm. Her arms are like a continuation of her sleeves, she physically doesn't have eyes, but she can see, unlike the author of sona (me), she has good athletic skills, with the help of her hands (claws), for example, when lowering or falling, can use them to cling to walls deep enough to stand level as if on the ground and slow down speed, takes inspiration from Xgaster and has alternative versions of himself like the same Sans (Fell!kui and Epic!kui are already official versions of alternatives from other AUs), can be created from paper with a full-length character and his written characteristics (paper copies will remain), if there is no design or character, there will simply be a glitch about the fact that operation.create.exe failed, has a sweet tooth and is a big fan of chocolate, does not prefer violence and considers it childish stupidity, can reason like in the game and has a slogan of accepting oneself as "being weird-its normal, being normal-its weird" (in the sense of accepting yourself as you are, becoming better and loving yourself and your life). that's all for now :3 Thanks for asking!!!!!

THE SECT AU: Part One

For somewhere that advertised itself as 'the heart of the city', this town was pretty quiet- mostly just apartment blocks and the small store here and there. And yet, when Cross tried to detect demons, the scent of them dropped on him like a ton of bricks. Seems that there was a reason that he was called out here.

Cross followed the closest source of a demonic presence until he found himself in front of an art store staring at a skeleton eating art supplies that most likely did not belong to him. If anything, that was all the confirmation Cross needed to deduct that this bag of bones was a demon. He wasn't all too familiar with monster biology as the sect didn't really educate them on that or let them educate themselves at all. He was pretty certain that the average monster could not digest crayons.

Yet when he tried to summon his cards, he found himself frozen in anxiety. He had trained for his entire life and afterlife for this moment out in the real world and yet he couldn't bring himself to make even the slightest movement of aggression towards this demon. What ifs and worst case scenarios rang in his head. He was sure that if XGaster saw him right now he would tear him a new one.

Apparently he was standing there for too long because the skeleton turned around, stolen art supplies in hand and crayon in mouth and asked him the one question he'd been dreading.

"Hey bud, what's up?"

The shapes in the skeleton's eye sockets changed rapidly before settling on a green triangle and pink question mark.

"Another one of XGaster's newbies?"

Somehow this was the most horrific moment of his life not counting a couple of separate incidents and he started to mentally scold himself. He was working himself up into a fit over this and he needed to get a hold of himself. Demons don't have feelings or empathy, if he didn't get rid of this one he'd just hurt more people.

He still couldn't convene his cards so he did the next best thing and looked into the fabric of the demon's existence. Okay, maybe that was a little dramatic. Even for him. He simply summoned enough magic from his reserves to see the potential demon's sins.

Sure enough, when he blinked his eyes open again, sins hung over the demon's head and body like smog, dark and suffocating. It left a bad taste in the back of his throat and he couldn't be bothered to try and discern the meaning of the tar-like substance floating around the skeleton.

Because when he gathered his bearings enough to shake away the sins that made his eyes water and gave him a pounding headache, the demon had already seemed to be bored of him as he had walked away as if the young exorcist was of no significant danger or importance to him.

Another aura approached Cross, unlike the tar that he had smelled before with the skeleton- this one reeked of overripe fruit and energy drinks. An unpleasant combination that was unfamiliar to Cross. And that made him nervous.

Also fuck! He was not prepared to meet two demons with such sins today!

Cross wheeled around in a panic, summoning his exorcism card faster than he ever had in his life. He caught a glimpse of back tar and a strange wobbling target paired with black fur before he made the brief realisation he had not, in his panic, fully dismissed his sight.

And then the unused magic from his card promptly and metaphorically hit him in the face.

...What the hell?

The demon hadn't even reacted to the card and even stranger, the demon's aura didn't hang as low as the others' did. It was like a film on top of something instead of all encompassin- Ah. Wait. That wasn't a demon. That was just a horrible person... or one that made questionable decisions. And Cross had made himself look like an idiot.

He quickly fully brang down his vision whether to spare himself or the other the embarrassment could be debatable.

His unfortunate and unknowing victim looked at him, probably wondering what the hell he was doing holding up his hand with nothing in it and looking at him like he'd seen a ghost (technically that was true).

Maybe Cross should do something to amend his already rapidly decreasing reputation in the town, he would probably need help from the locals at some point after all.

...

He had to admit. It had been a while since Cross went out for coffee and even longer for one as an apology for pointing a card at someone. Yes, it had happened before.

He found himself jumping every time the man spoke in his loud voice, he was probably still rattled from his first actual demon encounter outside of training. He pretended the noise didn't remind him of the yelling.

Maybe Cross shouldn't have been surprised when the man he had met introduced himself as 'Killer'. He should have been even less surprised when he declared that he was weird and that he liked weird people.

He honestly wasn't sure whether to be relieved or offended. After all, he wasn't that weird right? Well, he didn't wear the same type of clothes as the other citizens, and sure, he was wearing sunscreen on a moderately cloudy day a-

Okay he thinks he sees why other people see him as weird.

Cross decided to introduce himself, and yesk. Maybe his voice shook a little and he pulled his arms a bit too close to his chest but he managed to get his point across.

"I'm Cross."

Killer looked him up and down before grinning

"I probably coulda guessed that."

Okay, wow. Cross probably shouldn't have felt as self conscious as he did in that moment.

My version of an Xtale version of Dreamtale aka DreamX, these are beta designs at the very least. Very lackluster. They will be getting their own story tho, even if there are multiple ideas for different versions of DreamX/Xtale-Dreamtale, my version will have it's own set story so if you use my designs then those have their own story to them and I really would hope you kinda follow by it when it's all made. Things to possibly expect in the story of DreamX: -XDream and XNightmare will be getting out-of-story nicknames so people can refer to them as better and different names than something so closely related to normal Dream and Nightmare -The story will be different from XTale but be a twist on Dreamtale, it will not follow either to a t nor will it completely merge them, it is it's own thing in it's own multiverse -I do want to include ships, so canonically there could be ships or at least allowed fanships for this story -Underverse did not happen in this multiverse -XDream and XNightmare may have human or human-like forms that they can willingly turn into -The personalities will not be one-for-one with normal Dream and Nightmare -Expect odd duos and possibly AUs that aren't touched on much I will not reveal more than that until I have the story planned out, don't expect a big ol' Underverse-like project for them, at the very most they'll get edits, memes, mini videos maybe, nothing big.

I HAVE A SERIOUS QUESTION CONCERNING MY BOY

Is cross scared of cows in general, or just the patterns of the typical cartoon cow? Or a specific gender?

When people put cross in a bovine situation, the cows always look the same. White with black spots and female. I honestly have never seen cross be put with cows of any other size, shape, gender, or pattern than the stereotypical cow.

How does he feel about miniature cows? About bulls, or other patterns?

The logical conclusion would be “yes, all cows”, but with how generic and base level every cow he’s been shoved against is, its hard to say for certain.

I want to see more variety with the cows cross is to be tormented with. Let the man be terrified by a tiny little teacup cow, I want to see it.
