I am BEGGING you to be the monazite. Please. I already labeled you as monazite. I have no idea what monazite looks like under thin sections. You're too goddamn similar to zircon. Why do you both have to be radioactive.

Hornblende in Cross Polarized Light (XPL) with a Gypsum accessory plate inserted into the Microscope. The Gypsum plate alters the colors a bit, and is usually used with a Bertrand Lense (not engaged here) to determine a mineral's Uniaxial or Biaxial quality. Without that Gypsum plate, the background minerals would appear black and white. Maybe I'll upload a video of the transitions with each lense later. Bla bla bla science science science! Look at the pretty colors! Who else thinks I could make millions selling these as big posters/paintings? #Hornblende #Minerals #XPL #Bertrand #Microscope #Mineral #Mineralogy #Geology #EarthScience #Adventure #Adventurers #Explore #Exploration #Painting #Poster #Brilliant #Art #Millions #Rocks #Explorer (at California State University, Fullerton) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bq0SnMXF5O-/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1vcpp11oxk06m
