Anyways, this beautiful creature here is Qilin (pronounced: chee-lin) - yes I have a Xiaolin Showdown OC and yes their name is literally just the name of their species

Selective Low Activity Jack Spicer RP + Ask Blog

First and Forepost-- Rules and Introduction.

Rule 1. Asks are welcome! If I don’t like it, I won’t answer it! Personal blogs can sends asks, and even interact in a limited manner with Jack if they would like, but I won’t making any threads with non-character entities. Rule 2. Jack is canon divergent, which means part of the Xiaolin Showdown and Chronicles series have been reimagined or re-contextualized. Respect that Jack is not ‘cowardly, (physically) weak or ineffectual’. Jack is a wildcard, easily swayed by whims and increasingly disturbed by unfolding events in his life (and like, is a teenager, for a large part of XS). Just approach him like any other character, unless you are from his series, then we can chat character dynamics. Rule 3. I love shipping. But from every dynamic (platonic; romantic; mentorship--). Jack isn’t used to people liking him further than they can use him. He’s quick to excite but slow to embrace the responsibilities of commitment of any kind (scared of rejection from friends and significant others; scared of failure from mentors and friends; etc). Rule 4. I’m an adult, and sure Jack is an adult in all post-canon content... But there’s little interest for explicit threads. Asks, art, interactions can be steamy, but fade to black will be the default for amorous threads. Rule 5. Though on the note of threads at all... this blog is taking it easy. I would appreciate many asks and I will do my best to send plenty myself. But my main intention with this blog is reaching back out to friends blogs and generally having Fun with Jack. Fun including but not limited to: Oh Ships?; Henchperson Dynamics (him serving or leading); Jack Making Friends Trials n Tribulations; Exploring Jacks vast inventory of inventions & canon divergent settings. Maybe talk about AUs. Infodumping, the good stuff. Rule 6. I have ADHD and Autism, if you want to plot instead of sending a meme (you can send any meme, whenever you want, no introduction!), you need to come into my IMs with some substance, or you will not catch nor retain my attention. We are not business partners this is not a transaction, please come into my IMs with the brunt of your personality (whether you are chipper or blunt, just be yourself). No 'hi, hello, want to rp?'. I need: INTENTION ('I like this character / this show / how you write / I saw you rp with a friend and was interested / CAN I GETA GOTH GF?') Then hopefully you can follow it up with some CONTEXT INVESTMENT (can you tell me a lil about how your character and Jack would be able to connect? do you need information from me? are you interested in shipping, adventures, casual encounters, specific genres, just wanna send memes and go with the flow?). And of course, we both need to understand the potential of me not being interested (I prioritize fandoms I recognize (not necessarily invested in) and significantly fleshed out OCs). I know it's formulaic and you don't gotta send me a paragraph off the bat. Jump in to talk bout your rp style or how you feel bout this rule first, whatever works.

Collab Comic - Good Advice by Crystal-Zen So here we go!! I've promised Zippy-Fire ages ago to color one of her pictures that she made of Omi and Zip. I just loved her couple so much and she hasn't really had the opportunity to sit down and color any of her beautiful art pieces.  She's incredible at the Xiaolin Showdown style and I just wanted to show case that with coloring one for her! ^-^ I chose this comic because I thought it was both funny and incredibly cute! Also, it featured Raimundo who I think gets very little attention sadly, so, it made me happy to be able to color Rai in all of his coolness. On this particular piece with Zip, I decided to try something only -slightly- different with her hair which was making the outline of it a darker orange to help give it more of a natural flame look to better blend with the show style. This way it wouldn't be too flashy but would still manage to show that her hair is both fire and hair without being over the top. As far as the backgrounds go, those are all thanks to the amazing work of RaimeyLOfficial !! I absolutely have to thank you for making those free to use backgrounds for XS.  These two in particular were -PERFECT- for what I needed for Zippy's comic here!  They just seemed to fit flawlessly. Jackie is inspired by headcanons for an au of an old muse of mine, however she is still kind of being built on. Things which she kept from the original muse are:

Her past in child beauty pageants

her clumsiness as well as the fact she’s easily startled

She loves the grunge aesthetic

She tries to have this really bad ass front, but really she’s just a softie

She’s really good with her hands. If she has the supplies she’d happily build robots for days, but also is a fan of crochet and knitting

Her love for older men. 

While she does not follow the faith too much, she comes from a Jewish family.

While she grew up in Lexington and attended University in Lexington, she actually is scared of University of Kentucky. Thus when it came to choosing schools she chose Transylvania University, a small liberal arts college. And yes, this school really exists (Mun is a student there). She was a computer science major.

Sunset Rendezvous by Crystal-Zen A commission for Sumer-Breeze !! I was asked by the lovely Sumer to do a commission of her Xiaolin Showdown OC Renai with Clay!  She wanted to have a sunset reunion for the two of them. The pose is based off of one from Thumbelina between her and Cornelius. ^-^ The one where he picks her up.  This was a lot of fun to draw and I got a huuuge enjoyment out of painting the background! All of those beautiful warm colors from the show! Now, typically I just go with the shows gentle shading style but I took some artistic liberty here and made the shading a bit darker. Both Sumer and I agree it adds a bit of depth and helps connect the sunset feeling to it. I'm so sorry for the wait and I hope you enjoy it! They were really fun. Art © to me. Let Me Take A Look by Crystal-Zen Another one of the characters for my project of "Draw your characters that need more love!"   Next up on that list was Vivi!!  For those who are new to her she is Jack's half-sister. So her full name is Vivian Spicer.   I wanted her situated in Jack's lab helping him out with one of his projects because she felt like hanging out with him. The two of them are pretty close once they're introduced to each other. She's actually a pretty chill and supportive sister. She herself is just a mechanic with training from her father in self defense. So she can take care of herself if caught in the middle of a fight. There's a little more to her as well, but, that info will come around later. As far as the background goes, I took a screenie and used it from one of the HD episodes of Xiaolin Showdown. I just got too tired and sore so I wanted it a little quicker to continue onto my commissions and things for others. Vivian "Vivi" Spicer and Art are © to me.
