my favourite interpretation of xephrry is Brry being so unserious about his crush on Xephos.

He jokingly flirts with Xeph all the time, but with this undercurrent of "haha unless? 😳" that Lalna rolls his eyes at from across the compound, making a lighthearted comment about later that sends Brry into a state of "what!! nooo, what are you talking about-" as a reaction. He doesnt try to treat it as anything serious, although would get nervous if the option for something serious became available...

Yoglabs hired him as a dispobable intern only he didnt die so instead he got put in the jaffa factory 2 project with a xephos and a lalna to keep him busy because YL!xephos was impressed by Brrys skills and survivability. He did not anticipate Brry being Like That towards his clone
