I swear I have the capacity to be normal about things. with that being said I have many thoughtsTM about today's JF2 episode (#29).
Duncan volunteering to send his black lotus to Rythian as well is something that can be so personal. To over analyze it, although he says it is in case "the first one gets lost" they have no reason to think that items wouldn't get to their destined locations, so the choice reads much more as a gesture of friendship. After the events of Flux Buddies (no spoilers) Duncan has had to learn to face the consequences of his own actions in a way that he simply had not during Blackrock - which at the end of the day was the thing that drove a wedge between him and Rythian.
By not being able to accept that his actions led to genuine harm (intended or not) to those he called his friends signaled to Rythian that he cannot trust others/especially Duncan again. This perceived threat of future betrayal combined with Rythian thinking that Zoey had joined forces with Duncan and the nuke reveal all served to retraumatize Rythian, placing a wedge in their relationship that has not been able to be addressed due to the end of Season 2 and Rythian deciding to give up on any relationship (friend or enemy) with Duncan ('the opposite of love is not hatred, it is indifference' etc etc).
So Rythian choosing to send this task to the JF2 crew, almost certainly knowing that Duncan is among them, shows that Rythian has been able to grow since we have last seen him. He has been able to finally process, at least to a degree, what he has been through and perhaps is able to understand why Duncan acted the way that he did - that he never meant to cause harm but was terrified for his own safety both in the old and tekket worlds.
Duncan being the one, in episode 28, to want to listen to the message (as well as including the purple flag 'for Rythian') shows how much he has also changed. That he also understands, at least to a degree, where Rythian was coming from and why he did what he did AND that he doesn't hold that against him. All of this happening independently from each other until now. Rythian made the first move at reconciliation with entrusting Duncan (and the others of course) with a task that was important to him (but at the same time it is a task with a low level of responsibility so that if Duncan did not want to accept this peace offering of sorts, no harm would come to Rythian/Zoey). And Duncan, by sending his black lotus after barry has already sent one, is a clear acceptance of that gesture. More than that, it is returning a peace offering of his own. (and to REALLY over analyze, sending flowers is a sign of an apology with black/dark lotus flowers in multiple cultures representing rebirth).
Even if we never get anything else Blackrock related (which I am of course not counting on getting anything more), this serves as a wonderful epilogue to their dynamic, especially with some of the main themes of Blackrock being about the cycle of violence and the question of 'can you heal from your traumas before they destroy what you care about most?' (mostly focusing on platonic/romantic relationships) with the answer being that 'your actions will change the relationship from what it otherwise would have been, but if and only if both parties want to heal the relationship and put in the necessary time and effort to do so, then the relationship can survive'. And here we are getting a sign that both of them are willing to do something to salvage their friendship. It will never be what it was in the Old World, but the friendship is not gone, it just has a new starting point.

a crazy theory: they're going to go all the way up and talk to different tiers of management of this jaffa factory (from talking to sips, then honeydew, and then Regional Manager Jerry™) and aaaallllllll the way at the top, the CEO of the new jaffa factory, is gonna be yoglabs xephos

jaffa factory 2 stream lore! spoilers!
So! Canonically, they just woke up at the Jaffa Factory site, they don't have any memory of how they got there. Xephos is very concerned they are all clones -
"I'm - I'm starting to worry we're all clones" "We've had some history with cloning - you wouldn't remember though, would you [Honeydew]?"
A bit implied this Honeydew is an even earlier clone from maybe just post hole diggers? He's missing memories at the very least.
Officially confirmed that the crashed satellite is a reference to the Hole Diggers cheese incident like we thought! There was also, I believe, a bit of a Hypercube reference with the spacial drive - not that Xephos could apparently remember that clearly.
Honeydew also no longer owns the Jaffa Factory! He's a figurehead for the company, he's sold it off to someone. The plot of the stream is they are going to pick up their missing christmas bonus package (its another crashed spaceship) which contains a book with a reference to the original cursed Santa on top of the OG Jaffactory
The fast tick rate is intentional and therefore canon - is it magic? Is this whole place a simulation? Who knows! They sure don't!
The stream ends with Brry entering the portal to try and visit Honeydew's office but he instead goes to the Hellish Belt Zone - Lalna's body is still laying dead on the belt - the stream ends on a hard cut with him yelling "I DON'T WANNA BE HERE"
silly extras
the poking stick from the og jaffactory is back and xeph is getting smacked
xeph remains a hoarder
lalna's got a jetpack! only lalna so far, but i assume the others will build some eventually
there is a snake in the bathroom and he's xeph's little buddy
everyone sitting on the couches around the fireplace at the ski lodge was *so* cozy

Based on the fact that Harry is the main one behind this lore, im playing with the idea of Brry/Barry actually being a Yoglabs employee and not a clone... yet.
hired by Xephos to keep an eye on the Xeph and Lalna clones, JF2 being a pet project to keep them busy (and literally sell jaffa cakes) as well as see how they do in this environment. His instructions are to pretend everythig is normal and just do the job. Its been months living like this and sometimes he forgets that hes technically supervising these clones, until his boss pulls him aside and asks how things are going. He doesnt know everything, but is of a higher authority than the others know

Where do you think the other doorways to the facility come from?
I meant to answer this before today's episode but they are probably just Easter eggs/exist so that there isn't just a single entrance focused on the JF2 teleporter which would have a whole lot of implications. There is a great reddit post here that breaks down all of the potential references.
now if we are to do my favorite thing and overanalyze this, this is (or seems the at least) the storage room for jaffa headquarters which implies that they are shipping something to/from each of those locations. Narrowing in on the SOI door because lets be honest of course we are going to do that (and it would have the biggest impact on the lore):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The physical cloning machines in yoglabs (bottom right) have always had a lot of visual similarities to those of SOI (bottom left) even down to the freezing/use of water/ice on the person being cloned, with the main difference being the aesthetics of the rest of the room.
The JF2 cloning room (top left), has some visual callbacks to SOI beyond the clone vats specifically I am mainly focused on the amount of green in the room. In the episode there are green lights going all the way up towards the ceiling, on the sides of the walkway, practically everywhere in the clone room. This goes well beyond a green 'ready' indicator. This feels like a callback to the radiation/green themes in SOI (note: both JF2 #53 and SOI #39 where these images are from are focused on defeating evil/failed honeydew clones).
The difference in aesthetics is interesting since this is clearly after yoglabs in the timeline, but whoever is really in charge has moved away from the clean lab aesthetics of yoglabs towards that of SOI. If you assume it is Xephos prime, that could signal a level of desperation or obsession with SOI tech or something specific that happened there/then.
With the idea of technological advancement in mind for both yoglabs and the jaffa factory, moving towards older tech is interesting. Perhaps there is some lost technology that whoever is in charge believes is they key to their goals, or that it is some version of a 'I can do it right this time' plot with SOI tech.
It would be really interesting to see any of the other tech from SOI reinter the yogs canon besides cloning, and this would be a great opportunity to do that, although I don't necessarily think it is likely.
The prominent theme of radiation in both series is really interesting too, and there is a lot of potential development to be done there. Maybe radiation is causing master clones to slowly decay or there is some sort of limit. Maybe radiation could be tied to some other form of immortality (and making clones for securing Xephos prime/Honeydew's safety not necessary). It is too early to say more than this right now but there could definitely be something here.
