A final exam is supposed to reflect the course and prior exams, right? In format and everything, right? That’s not something that is coming out of my ass right?

Like suddenly changing the format of a test from multiple choice to short answers shouldn’t happen without clear notice before you take your test. Am I right?

And that clear notice should be clear and not hidden behind ‘study tips for your final exam!’ or additional materials, right?

Please tell me I’m not being an idiot. I’m kind of devolving back into self-doubt and panic that I’m being an idiot.

Maybe its my age but I'm not used to having to provide the information of my medical health professional for accommodations in school.

So Penn Foster likes to misrepresent their exams and that is not ok.

I'm just trying to breathe now because I'm currently going through the worse breakdown I've had because the exam was not what was implied at all, nor did I recieve any sort of study guide. And being that I am not a fucking machine I cannot churn out 16 fucking essay questions in an hour on niggling bullshit that I wasn't even hinted at having to pay more attention to.

Welp I'm fucked and I'm going to SOMEHOW probably have to explain to my medical director that I need to do my exams in the clinic on clinic time waiting both HER AND MY time to do my finals.

Because the supposed online option just...ceased existence. Literally. Its...I clicked the button to opt in and it went POOF.

I swear I am going to spend a weekend one of these days just listening to webinars for my courses because I just haven’t had a chance to because work/life balance does not exist and pandemic has made life balance HELL.

So I was given a copy about the exam booklet, but hilariously the exam booklet speaks entirely about in person proctored exams and has nothing about online proctored exams and so everything in that booklet is not valid. Thanks, school! You are totally not coming across as predatory or having a clear lack of understanding of the issue!

Still nothing on the lack of study guides being readily available and instead something you have to do literal research to find, though. Hmm....

No, you are not insane and your feelings are completely valid. It is bullshit that they would change it on you like that.

Every single Professor that I had throughout my college experience always told us before our tests and exams what type of questions will be on the test (short answer, multiple choice, true and false)

Some of my professors have even told the class how many are going to be on the test.

Even on formal papers the requirements, standards, and prompts are always given to us and if it changes or the due date changes, my professors have made sure their class is aware of it.

This is especially true for me as I have accommodations for testing and due dates. My professors always make sure I know the due dates of assignments AND if I ask for an extension, we always make sure both of us are on the same page of when things are due.
