Father Time is the enemy none of us can beat.
I felt like doing something with Wynter since I barely draw him.I also made a slight change to his keyblade which includes an hourglass which he uses to help with his time orientated magic. MoM might be the one seeing into the future but I like to think Wynter helped really establish what Time Magic is.

ALRIGHT AFTER TRYING TO UPLOAD THEM FOR ALMOST AN HOUR LAST NIGHT - here are the outfit refs I was talking about. I wanted to draw out the layers of clothes for my own reference but decided to show it off here too and write some facts about their clothes
A colored version will either be added to this or uploaded separately.
PLEASE DO NOT REBLOG.
EDIT: NOW WITH A COLORED REF
Facts under the cut
First off this more accurately represents their heights and KEI IS HECKING SHORT. I think I made her just a tad too short but more or less - with her platform shoes, she’s only supposed to come up to be a little taller than Quest’s eye level at the very least.
Surprise! Kei’s red outfit is actually a big jacket! I had tossed over the idea of making it all just a really fancy dress but I was thinking of what would be easier to fight in/take on and off and this was the result.
Quest’s capes are detachable yes - yes he is extra af, moving on.
QUEST’S HAIR IS A MESS!!! From when his parents died to when he came to Daybreak Town, he had to cut his hair by himself and he messed up numerous times. His Chirithy offered to cut it for him to make it all even but Quest is trying to grow it out a little bit so he doesn’t have to chop off ALL of his hair - he likes it around his shoulders.
Quest has earrings too!! Actually a sidenote: everyone in this picture has earrings! Kei has simple flower ones, Quest’s has stars with a chain, Atlas has three piercings on each ear and then Wynter has his big fancy earrings.
ATLAS HAS SO MUCH GOING ON COMPARED TO EVERYONE ELSE. But the first thing I want to bring up is the bracelets around his wrists in the first picture - incase my tiny writing can’t be read these are ‘enchanted bracelets that can’t be removed’, this will have significance to his backstory before Wynter took him in - and yes he’s still wearing these under his gloves in ALL verses.
His glasses will always hang around his neck when he’s not wearing them, he kept losing them so Wynter got him the chain for them.
The keyring Atlas has are actual keys for different areas the shop and a warehouse that they had in Daybreak Town, Wynter lets him hold onto them.
....I can’t explain the ribbon necklace thing. It’s just cute and i like it. I will say that it has a little heart motif on it like Wynter’s pocketwatch.
Wynter’s earrings are sort of hard to see in the last picture but they’re supposed to represent fancy clock hands - and one of them is in the exact shape of his keyblade.
Wynter’s pocketwatch hangs over his sash so he doesn’t have to reach into it to grab the watch. that and I just wanted to show it off because it’s important.
The heart clip for Wynter’s hair was given to him by Atlas.
okay that’s it - for now.

Sad Dad time! I didn’t really draw him in a formal outfit before but here he is. He’d still use atlas’ little heart pin in his hair but just tie it back differently.
Also small change to wynter’s keyblade is that it now has an hourglass in it. I’ll try to draw more of it and wynter in the future.
Atlas is having a heartattack off camera for all of these pictures.

And here we have some keyblades!!!
Left to right we have Heaven’s Hero (Quest’s), Gladiolus (Kei’s) and Hand of Time (Wynter’s) ! I’ll be putting some headcanons on them in a separate post.
Edit: made a small change to Heaven’s hero because i felt like the hilt was too messy, so i just shifted how the flowers were.

Biography
Wynter is native of Daybreak Town and comes from a long line of smiths. He grew up along side his twin sister who wanted to grow up to be a baker instead of a smith. Wynter supported his sister and tried to take as much of the family responsibility off of her as possible. This lead him to completing his apprenticeship under their father much earlier than expected, and Wynter was one of the youngest smiths the town had ever had and could run the forge on his own by age 17. His sister worked at the bakery right down the street and would bring him baked goods during work so he would remember to eat.
As Wynter was a workaholic, the more time went on the farther and farther him and his sister became. Eventually she stopped coming by, and even their parents couldn’t get them to speak to eachother on a normal basis. Their last conversation was an argument that ended up with Wynter injuring himself, resulting in the scar on his face. After recovery, Wynter went right back to work and didn’t bother to try and speak to his sister again, even though he knew that his injury was his own doing.
His life afterwards was pretty uneventful until the unions were established and keyblade wielders from all over came flooding into the town. Keyblade wielders were present before but the establishment of unions made Daybreak Town into a world full of them. It was this sudden change that started to change Wynter’s point of view - seeing the keyblade wielders work so hard to collect light reminded him of how he worked so hard to make sure his sister could do what her heart wanted to do. He approached the Master of Masters and the Foretellers to ask what he could possibly do to help, as a smith he had figured there was something he could do. But he didn’t fully comprehend what a keyblade was, and after getting an more in depth explanation he had started to doubt himself. However- MoM gave a suggestion on how he might go about doing so, handing over magic spellbooks and other materials and invited Wynter to take a shot at it. And take a shot at it Wynter did.
There were many failed experiments, many times he had considered giving up. Magic was not something he was extremely well versed in, only very minor fire spells as he would sometimes use them to help with his smithing. Then the matter of healing hearts was another entirely - he had almost felt like MoM had set him up, knowing his family’s history. How could someone who couldn’t repair his relationship with his sister supposed to heal a heart? He was close to giving up when he realized one day that he had the potential for being a keyblade wielder himself. His keyblade is known as the hand of time, and when he showed it off to MoM, the keyblade master explained it’s unique power. It could freeze time, but only of whoever the keyblade struck. He would have to hurt someone to freeze them, and if he wasn’t careful he could simply end up shattering their heart. Wynter felt set up once again - given a keyblade that would freeze someone in a state of being unchanged, untouched, by anything or anyone - as he had been pretending to be all those years.
This keyblade would be what would help him save Atlas, however. He found Atlas in the middle of having his heart pulled out of his chest by a heartless - and managed to strike the creature down. Wynter took Atlas back to the forge and while he was alive - Atlas was of course completely unresponsive. Wynter worked tirelessly for days, weeks even, to repair Atlas’ heart. His hard work paid off, and Atlas finally woke up - but with no memory of who he was or where he came from. Wynter took the boy under his wing, taking him in as an apprentice. Atlas was unaware of it at the time but healing him and having him around is eventually what gave Wynter the courage and power to try and approach his sister again. They weren’t on the best terms right away, but with the shop in Atlas’ capable hands from time to time, he was able to go and be with his sister to work on that. However, it wouldn’t last forever.
Leading up to the war, Wynter felt as if he had fallen back into his old workaholic self - and this time he didn’t have a choice. Now he had completely devoted himself to helping these wielders, and he wasn’t going to stop. Even when Atlas had collapsed, he only brought the boy to his office so he could continue to work with customers by himself. Eventually Quest and Kei came to the shop to help them, and while Kei kept wielders at bay, Quest brought Atlas and Wynter to their rooms to rest. While resting and being the one healed for once, Wynter came up with his plan. Even if it was cruel, him and Atlas both wanted to help the wielders. There would be wielders to come that would need their help too - he was sure of that. Once he and Atlas were well enough, he gathered the three teens and told him of the plan. He had expected Atlas to resist, but before he could try and force it - Quest and Kei did that for him. Wynter then froze Atlas in time- and locked the shop itself. He worked completely out of the forge area after that, only going into the connected shop to grab absolutely necessary materials to teach Quest and Kei how to become heartsmiths.
When Quest and Kei decided to go to the battlefield, all Wynter felt he could do was wish them well - he could not summon his keyblade without releasing Atlas - which defeated the purpose of using it in the first time. Before they went off though, Wynter brought them with him to the shop for one final spell. Wynter used a powerful spell to cast the shop and forge into the Space Between. This took up most of his energy and he collapsed. He had to be carried by Quest and Kei to his sister before they both left. When they had left, it had appeared that he was simply resting. Which was true, for a moment.
Wynter woke up briefly to speak to his sister, and then passed away peacefully in her arms. The spell had taken what little energy and magic he had left - had he not been so exhausted from mending keyblades, and bringing Quest and Kei up to speed so quickly, he would have survived the spell with just a few days of rest needed. But because of all the circumstances leading up to it, he was unable to hold himself together.

🗡{No Name to Wynter}
Send “🗡” to ask my muse about one of their scars. | Accepting!
“Hm? Oh, this old thing.” He reached up to touch the scar on the side of his face. Fingers traced it upwards towards his eye and the smith finds himself chuckling softly. “Had it gone any higher I probably would have completely lost the sight in my eye.” Was he implying that some sight had been lost? Maybe so.
“It was an accident, caused by no one but myself. You shouldn’t work with an open flame or sharp tools when you’re angry, or while arguing with someone.” He brought his hand down, giving a small wave.
It held so much more than that, though. Maybe it was the start of where time had frozen for him. Where time had stopped being an issue- as he had never moved forward. Not until recently, at least. He can hear Atlas moving around in the next room and it causes him to smile. He’s still smiling as he turns towards No Name again. “If there’s anything I’ve learned in my long life, its that some scars are necessary.”

Wynter did Atlas have a name before you found and saved him? Or did he always have the name Atlas?
“If he did have one, he doesn’t remember it.” Wynter said, looking off to the side. He didn’t like remembering how….fragile….almost dead, Atlas was when they first met. “He wasn’t able to speak to me before he fell unconscious, and by the time I had repaired his heart, all of his memories had left him.”
“There was a time….” He started, reaching up to pull the heart shaped pin out of his hair so he could look at it, a lock of his hair falling to cover part of his face when he did so. “…that I attempted to find out who he was. I had even sought the Master’s help, at one point. I thought maybe it would bring him comfort, or give him a place to belong - he had confided in me once he felt so out of place among those in daybreak town. But the more time went on, the more…uninterested he seemed. Or maybe, he just got better at hiding it. Just like he soon adjusted to the town, he adjusted to the fact that he didn’t know who he was before.”
“I was thankful, really. Maybe he wouldn’t catch my habit of living in the past, of never moving forward. It was for this reason I gave him the name Atlas. So he could chart his own course, and help others along theirs.”

Wynter what are your thoughts on No Name? As well as their wielder?
“No Name and the Masters of Masters?” Wynter repeated with a low hum before giving a small smile. “I consider them both to be very dear friends.”
“The Master can be a bit…well….eccentric I suppose is the only word capable to describe some of his antics. And truthfully, even I have never seen his face in full. But, if it weren’t for him giving me the opportunity to become a heartsmith, I don’t know where I would be in life – and Atlas surely would have lost his.” Because without becoming a heartsmith, he wouldn’t have known he could wield a keyblade, and then without that keyblade he wouldn’t have been able to save Atlas. “Makes you wonder if he plans these sorts of things.“
“No Name is a steadfast companion. She does have a burden on her shoulders, with her connection to the Master, and her ability to see the future. But she can carry it, I know she can.” He smiled. “A wonderful blade aswell, it’s of no surprise to me that she’s the Master’s keyblade. They suit one another perfectly.”

Keyblade dev post time:
Heaven’s Hero:
The name comes from both Quest’s love for the sky and also representing his dead parents and how he aimed to make them proud while they watched him from heaven. Also he could have been considered equivalent to the player character had his path not changed hence the ‘hero’.
The top part of his keyblade is shooting stars as well as half of a compass rose.
the handle of his keyblade is supposed to be more shaped like a fencing sabre - as it sort of reflects Quest’s fighting style.
This is also why his keyblade is longer and thinner.
The handle also has flowers on it, which represents Kei - and a ribbon that represents Atlas. The lightning bolts represent Gula and Quest’s loyalty to him despite leaving the union.
The flowers are supposed to be Ipheion uniflorum aka spring starflowers! I just thought they were neat and hey more star motifs
the keychain is in the shape of the key that wynter made for him to the shop and that the trio keeps on their person.
Gladiolus
The name comes from the flower Gladiolus which symbolizes strength and moral integrity.
Those are also gladiolus flowers going up the middle of the blade!
Once again the ribbon on the hilt is supposed to represent atlas, while there is a compass rose for Quest.
Part of the keyblade is based off of japanese temples. I figured it would match the aesthetic she has going with her clothes.
also big and bulky because Kei’s just that kind of girl. A shorter reach also since she doesn’t mind getting up close and personal.
The fan was partly to match the aesthetic and partly because of how she used to hide alot of herself behind a brave face - like you can easily cover up part of your face with a fan.
The flowers on the fan are rainflowers! which mean: I must atone for my sins, I will never forget you. These of course refer to Atlas, and they’re on the fan since he’s the one that helped her open up more.
the keychain is the shape of the key that wynter made for her to the shop and that the trio keeps on their person.
Hand of Time
I don’t got alot of this one considering I wanted it to be as simple and sort of plain as possible.
It’s supposed to be shaped like the hand to a grandfather clock, wynter wears an earring that’s identical to the design.
The ribbon doesn’t so much represent atlas as it was always there, even before Wynter took in Atlas. But i like to think it also came to be associated with him.
This key definitely wasn’t made for fighting - but could probably pull off some cool magic.
the keychain is a key with a heartshaped based and it’s the keychain that all the others are based off of. Atlas has a key to the shop that’s identical to this keychain.

sit To Wynter from No Name of all people
nonverbal starters | Accepting! sit help them sit down.
“Th-Thank you.” He sighed, holding onto her hand before lowering himself down into a chair. He wouldn’t admit how the pain in his chest made him cringe and tighten his grip on her hand even after getting himself settled in the chair. There’s a faint apology, though, as he realizes how tight he’s holding onto her hand and releases it.
He reached up to the heart pin in his hair, pulling it out and letting his hair fall down. He did the same for the ribbon tying the rest of his hair back. He couldn’t help but think that maybe it would help his growing headache. Anything, he’d do anything to help the pain in the different areas of his body.
His gaze goes to her, then just past her - where he could see his apprentice passed out on the couch. He pushes his hair behind his ear and looks back towards the keyblade. “You’ve come at...a rather busy time. Had I known you were coming, I would have had Atlas make tea.” He gave a weak smile. So weak, he wonders if it could even be considered a smile.
“Thank you for coming, though. It’s good to see a familiar face.”
