As many of you may know, Patria movements were produced by Omega and marketed under the Patria name. During World War I, Omega made a brilliant marketing decision by entering a still unproven wristlet market created by soldiers in Europe. Their Patria name became synonymous with the trench watch, and by the end the war, every man recognized the advantage of having a watch on his wrist – instantly accessible – versus a pocket watch that one would have to fumble to retrieve. The move proved to be quite profitable for Omega: today they remain one of the finest watch houses in the world.

This 33mm by 40mm lug-to-lug example in a solid silver case with integrated shrapnel guard would have been the pride of some wealthy World War I officer who could afford to purchase a fine timepiece for himself. We have taken the liberty of fitting the watch with a bespoke 2-piece caramel cordovan strap.

I just find it very interesting that all the labour classed as lesser (most often seen as "women's labour") becomes indispensable in moments of crisis. It's just interesting to see how quickly people turn to that labour and then discard it in moments of peace or prosperity, devaluing it until another crisis hits.

jaime x brienne the great gatsby au where jaime is jay gatsby and brienne is nick and cersei is daisy. tom could be robert. myrtle is one of robert's many gfs because he's not over lyanna. jordan is idk??? renly? loras? in this case brienne doesn't meet the gang because she's related to daisy-cersei but because she knew jordan-renly or loras. can wolfsheim be tyrion? and ofc this has a happy ending :3

So you're telling me in the first episode of this show a character's mom introduces another character as her son's ~super close~ best friend, because they were in The War together, followed by a scene of these two friends getting drunk and swimming in the ocean, afterwards one friend asks the other to take his shirt off, gently caresses his wounds, AND one of these characters is played by the guy who plays Armand in the vampire show,,
