Facts about Amani Cove:
Amani started wrestling when she was 15 years old and trained under Booker T when she turned 16.
Amani is a HUGE fan favorite in WWE. Think of good crowd responses and big pops compared to Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, and Rhea Ripley. She's also very well respected by WWE Executives backstage.
Amani is a twin!! She and her brother Cassius were born thirty-six minutes apart from each other, but AMANI WAS BORN FIRST!!
She's also her dad's only daughter (so by default she's his favorite 🤣)
Amani graduated from Prairie View A&M University with her Bachelor's in Music and a minor in Composition. If she hadn't gone into wrestling, she would've followed in her dad's footsteps and went into music.
When Amani and Cass were 5 years old, their mother walked out on them after having an affair. Amani has only seen her mother twice since she left, both times were after she and her brother made something of themselves.
Amani is 14 years older than her baby brother Anthony!!
Before signing with the WWE, Amani had made a rather big name for herself on the indie circuit from 2007-2015, kicking ass and racking up championships left and right, as well shattering the expectations of fans and critics alike.
Amani, though a social butterfly, tends to keep her private life extremely secretive, especially in regards to her childhood.
She's wrestled in promotions such as ROH, Reality of Wrestling, DDT-Pro Wrestling, NJPW, PWG, & Shimmer.
Amani holds a Guinness Book of World Records for most title defenses while holding the NXT Women’s Championship.
At the request of Booker T, Amani auditioned for the fifth season of Tough Enough in 2010, but sadly didn't make it past the preliminary round.
Amani's dad is a Grammy winning singer-songwriter and guitarist who has worked with the likes of Michael Jackson, Prince, Lenny Kravitz, Craig David, Maxwell, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, and so many more. He's also the front man for a popular rock group Blackstone that still tours and makes music to this day.
Amani's original entrance theme while in Reality of Wrestling was "Ante Up" by M.O.P., then "You Call Me a Bitch Like it's a Bad Thing" by Halestorm. Her WWE entrance music is an original done by her father's band Blackstone and Lzzy Hale from Halestorm.
In late 2014 she became a free agent and was almost immediately approached by WWE. The initial goal was to sign her and get her into an immediate feud with Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair, but Imani had been under a 90 day no compete clause at the time.
She finally signed with WWE in spring of 2015 and would make her first TV appearance on NXT TV in August. She would later confront Bayley during TakeOver London which would kick off their 5 month feud. Amani would go on to win the NXT Women's Championship at TakeOver: Dallas.
She still holds the record for longest title reign with the NXT Women's Championship at 522 days. She would lose her title to her friend and former tag team partner Ember Moon at TakeOver: WarGames in 2017. This would also be her last match in NXT before debuting on the main roster the RAW after WrestleMania 34 to begin a three-way feud between Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss.
She would win her first RAW Women's Title at that year's Money in the Bank before getting cashed in on by Alexa to begin their feud. She would win the title back at Summerslam that year and would hold the title for 161 days before dropping it to Ronda Rousey at 2019 Royal Rumble.
During COVID, she held the Smackdown Women's Championship for the first time in her career for a total of 371 days, winning it against her tag team partner Bayley at WrestleMania 36. She held the record for the longest reigning Smackdown Women's Champion until Rhea Ripley.
She has an amazing relationship with her brothers and is very close to her stepmom Renee.
Amani is a huge fan of horror movies and musicals. Very weird combo I know, but she likes what she likes. Her favorites are Bram Stoker's Dracula and Little Shop of Horrors.
She's also a BIG ASS NERD. She loves Lord of the Rings, Marvel, Star Wars, and is currently obsessed with a show called The Legend of Vox Machina. She's played several campaigns of D&D with Xavier Woods.
Amani has an ownership in her family's restaurant Joie De Vivre.
Amani has a love for Egyptian mythology and astrology.
As a teen Amani participated in dance, music, & theater arts. She also played volleyball, and competed in track & field.
She appeared in the first ever Women's Royal Rumble at entry number 4, lasting 35:46 before being eliminated by Asuka.
Her most favorite feuds have been with Ember Moon, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, and Bayley.
In 2019, Amani made a surprise appearance as the mystery 4th member of Team Ripley at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.
At WrestleMania 37, Amani had the lead singer of Halestorm Lzzy Hale along with her dad and his band Blackstone be part of her entrance and perform her theme.
The first thing she did with her first big WWE paycheck, aside from paying off her remaining student loans, she bought her first big girl house in Orlando. She also flipped her condo and now rents it out to NXT Superstars just starting out in the company.
Amani grew up in a heavily affluent musical family. Her grandmother was a jazz singer in New Orleans before becoming a background vocalist for artists like Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Gladys Knight, etc. Her grandfather played trumpet for the band Earth, Wind, & Fire (that's how they met).
Just two months after winning her fifth Women's title (second Smackdown Women's Championship) at WrestleMania 38, Amani was in a terrifying car accident while back home in Orlando. She was hit by a drunk driver in which her car flipped twice and landed on its roof. She was trapped inside, had to be pried from the car with the jaws of life, and then life lighted to the ER. Luckily, she had only sustained a broken leg and two fractured ribs, but still had to relinquish her championship.
Amani would make an emotional return nine months after the accident on the RAW after WrestleMania 39 and begin a feud with Bayley/Damage Ctrl before being drafted to RAW.
Right now Amani has 17 tattoos. She plans to get more in the future.
Thanks to her grandparents and father, Amani is a classically trained pianist and can also play the guitar.
Amani has one dog and a cat: a black cat female named Isis and a pitbull male named Brucey. She and Damian adopted Brucey while they lived together.
Amani's signature fragrance is a perfume she had created at a local apothecary shop in New Orleans. It's a blend of vanilla, black orchid, and amber.
Her dream WrestleMania entrance would have Megan Thee Stallion performing her theme.
A few of Amani's major wrestling influences are Rey Mysterio, Chyna, Lita, Batista, Trish Stratus, Jacqueline, Eddie Guerrero, & Shawn Michaels.
She is very close friends with Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Naomi, Becky Lynch, Zelina Vega, Ember Moon, Finn Balor, Samantha Irvin, Mia Yim, Cathy Kelly, & Jade Cargill.
She and Damian Priest have known each other the longest, since 2012 after first meeting at an ROH house show. They've been friends ever since and even lived together at one point.
Amani is fluent in Spanish and Arabic.
She has an insane sweet tooth. Her favorite candies are peach and watermelon rings and will go ham on a fudge brownie.
Two of her favorite matches in WWE so far have been the match between herself and Ember Moon for the NXT Women's Title at TakeOver: WarGames and main eventing WrestleMania 37 with Bianca Belair.
~~~~~~
*Notes:
this is an AU in which Asuka doesn't go to NXT but rather straight to the main roster.
Amani Cove mainly takes a good chunk of Sasha Banks' achievements and title runs but with slight changes.
Ronda Rousey does not win the RAW Women's title at Money in the Bank 2018 but instead Amani does. The only reason she loses to Ronda at the 2019 Royal Royal is due to Vince McMahon not believing Amani would be a big enough draw alongside Becky & Charlotte at WrestleMania 35.
Amani takes Sasha Banks' spot in the Fatal Five-Way Elimination match for the Smackdown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 36 and defeated Bayley.
Amani takes the place of Mia Yim as a surprise partner in the 2019 NXT Women's WarGames match, not Candice LeRae.
Amani Cove teams with Bayley to become the inaugural Women's Tag Titles, not Sasha Banks.
Amani Cove main events WrestleMania 37 with Bianca Belair, not Sasha Banks.
My Nine Platinum Trophies
On PlayStation. Not literal platinum trophies.
It's rare that I actively go after a platinum trophy in a video game but last night, in the early hours of the morning, I got my ninth so I figured it would be nice to go back and look at the ones I do have.
1. WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 (PS3)
First Trophy: 22/08/2011
Platinum: 20/11/2011
Time: 2 months, 29 days
Rarity: 1.9%
Given WWE SvR 2010 came out in October 2009, you might be wondering why I was late to the party on this one. Until 2011, pretty much the only games I played at all were the WWE ones and I stayed loyal to my PlayStation 2 until the bitter end. When WWE '12 was announced to be exclusive for the seventh generation, I caved and got myself a PS3. For whatever reason, I actually skipped SvR 2010 when it came out on PS2 so I picked up a cheap copy for the PS3 instead and managed to get my first platinum a few days before WWE '12's release.
2. Family Game Night 3 (PS3)
First Trophy: 17/07/2012
Platinum: 26/09/2012
Time: 2 months, 9 days
Rarity: 2.7%
Ah yes, arguably the most prestigious platinum of all. Accomplished by achieving such feats as winning The Game of Life 10 times, having a perfect game of Twister, locking another player in any room in Clue, building all five trap variants in Mouse Trap, and gaining six combo cards in Yahtzee.
3. Rocket League (PS4)
First Trophy: 16/08/2015
Platinum: 05/01/2017
Time: 1 year, 4 months, 20 days
Rarity: 2.7%
Another case of being behind the times. Rocket League was free on PlayStation Plus upon its initial release in July 2015 but I don't remember actually having a copy until Christmas 2016. However, when looking through the trophies, I have two dating back to August 2015. I can only assume I did download Rocket League briefly, lost interest the first time around, uninstalled it and eventually got back round to wanting to play it again. Mysterious circumstances whatever happened meaning the platinum took close to 17 months as opposed to just 11 days. In between FGN3 and Rocket League, I also 100% completed Monopoly Plus, Firewatch, and Hitman but none of those offer a platinum.
4. Killing Floor 2 (PS4)
First Trophy: 08/06/2017
Platinum: 29/06/2017
Time: 21 days
Rarity: 1.7%
This one I did get when it was free on PlayStation Plus. However, I picked it up at the insistence of my friend Chris. He currently has 92 platinum trophies for comparison sake. A fun little game that helped pass the time during a period of unemployment for myself until I found a job that September. A couple of months prior to the KF2 platinum, I also 100% completed Disc Jam, meaning my overall platinum count should really have been 8 at this stage.
5. L.A. Noire (PS4)
First Trophy: 25/12/2017
Platinum: 23/03/2018
Time: 2 months, 26 days
Rarity: 1.8%
I never played L.A. Noire on the PS3, instead getting the enhanced edition for Christmas 2017. I soon realised what I had been missing. A lovely game with a fantastic story that never outstayed its welcome. Probably the first time I actively wanted to achieve a platinum as opposed to having a majority of trophies and then just picking up the ones I didn't have. On the topic of Rockstar games, I got Red Dead Redemption 2 as a gift for Christmas the following year. I have 81% of the trophies for that game, missing out one single player trophy and a few of the online ones. I do however have 100% in-game completion which is good enough for me.
6. Golf With Your Friends (PS4)
First Trophy: 23/05/2020
Platinum: 11/06/2020
Time: 19 days
Rarity: 0.5%
The fastest platinum I've achieved to date. Golf With Your Friends was a quite handy game for a group of us to play during a time where none of us could see each other in person for reasons I forget. I've not played any of the GWYF expansions though.
7. Grand Theft Auto V (PS4)
First Trophy: 11/12/2014
Platinum: 24/01/2021
Time: 6 years, 1 month, 13 days
Rarity: 0.1%
Now, to be fair, while I did play GTA V throughout those six years, I didn't spend all that time trying to get the GTA V platinum. Between May 2016 and December 2020, I didn't earn a single trophy for it. So why did I suddenly make it a goal when for so long it hadn't concerned me? There was some reason I couldn't go into work for a few weeks around the end of 2020/early 2021 - who knows what it could have been? - and I needed something to pass the time. I decided to replay the story of GTA V and then realised the platinum actually seemed doable after all. One month later, I got my rarest platinum of all. Much better than the 55% I completed on the PS3 version of the game. I don't have any desire to do it again once I own a PS5.
8. Zombie Army Trilogy (PS4)
First Trophy: 25/01/2023
Platinum: 30/05/2023
Time: 4 months, 5 days
Rarity: 1.4%
The second zombie related game on the list, also at the instance of my friend Chris oddly enough. Did end up preferring it to Killing Floor 2 after some initial reluctance on my part to play it. Chris is now trying to convince me to buy Zombie Army 4 and get the platinum on that as well. He does play other genres of games, I promise.
9. WWE 2K23 (PS4)
First Trophy: 29/04/2023
Platinum: 28/06/2023
Time: 1 month, 30 days
Rarity: 0.1%
A historic platinum for me, for a couple of reasons. It marks the first time in my gaming history I've got two platinum trophies in a row. It's also the first WWE game since SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 that I've achieved the platinum for. It's going to feel odd playing it now and not having to worry about trophy hunting.
THINGS WE LEARNED FROM WWE CROWN JEWEL 2018
I try very hard to focus on the positives of these ppv but.. um wow.
1.Rey Myseterio and Randy Orton two of the best in the business went out and had a five minute match that would be considered average on a house show not a ppv.
2.the ending was botched and I love Rey so this hurts me but it was a very obvious botch
3. The post match beat down was expecting to the point where Randy di slide of the ring immediately i audibly said (here comes the rko)
4. Why was Kurt Angle in this tournament?
5. I love Kurt Angle but he lost in 8 minutes
6. He is one of the greatest of all time why would you bring him back just to job him out.
7.If he had progressed in the tournament it honestly would have been a feel good moment but... well.
8. On the bright side(I guess) I do really like dolph ziggler
9. It was obvious that wwe were trying to avoid the name Saudi Arabia the entire show.
10. I forgot to put this before Randy and Rey but ohhh yay? Hulk hogan?
11. Since the World Cup tournament had competitors in multiple matches they all basically phones in their first round matches
12. Second round raw match is something we have seen too much of recently.
13. Dolph ziggler and the miz made it to the end over Rey mysterio....
14. The finals of the best in the world tournament where dolph ziggler vs the miz....
15. Im convinces Samoa Joe and AJ Styles can’t have a bad match
16. At some point Joe either has to win or stop getting title shots tho
17. Brock Lesbar is the universal champion...
18. What the fuck wwe seriously everyone is telling you that, we want anyone but him I’ll take fucking hornswaggle.
19. Braun is such a homegrown over and fantastic talent and you had him get decimated by Brock what the fuck.
20. We went from a universal champion in Roman Reigns who genuinely won me over to an overhyped man who can’t even show up to a show.
21. So Dolph vs. Miz is not a terrible match at least except miz got in a fight before the match
22. HERRE COMES THE MONEYY, Shane o Mac comes out and inserts the runner up Rey Mysterio into the match right? Wrong.
23. Shane McMahon enters himself into the match and wins within 5 minutes what.the.fuck.
24.the main event was slow even those they are legends of the industry
25. Michael Cole overhyped the main event too much
Okay let’s talk about what was good now
26. Holy shit that pyro there was so much and it was fucking fantastic
27. The smackdown second round match was fun and I enjoyed it.
28. This show shows that maybe possible Kurt Angle is coming back to active competition? Maybe? Please?
29. It was just nice to see one of my absolute favorites of all time in the ring again even though the match wasn’t good I’ve missed HBK
WWE - Royal Rumble | 28th January 2018 Asuka won the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match; Ronda Rousey arrived --- PHILADELPHIA — One woman, two women, 29 women. It’s all the same to Asuka. But while The Empress of Tomorrow made history by winning the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match, one woman who didn’t compete in the historic contest — Ronda Rousey — ended up casting the longest shadow over the evening. With Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair watching from ringside, Asuka entered at No. 25, joining a field that included insurgent upstarts, Four Horsewomen and, remarkably, a group of veterans and Legends who proved that they did, indeed, still have it. The first surprise was Lita, who entered at No. 5 and displayed the names of the late Superstars who never got to see this historic moment come to fruition on her arm. She was followed by Torrie Wilson (No. 9), Molly Holly (No. 12), Michelle McCool (No 14), Vickie Guerrero (No. 16), Kelly Kelly (No. 19), Jacqueline (No. 21), Beth Phoenix (No. 24), Nikki Bella (No. 27), Brie Bella (completing her comeback at No. 28) and finally, Trish Stratus at No. 30. With the young Superstars and veterans of generations past sharing the ring, the historic match was a thrilling collision of past and present. Lita dished out a double Moonsault to Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks; Molly dropped Sasha with a Molly-Go-Round that took out both Superstars; The Divas of Doom reunited briefly to thwart a surging Nia Jax; Vickie Guerrero was eliminated en masse by Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Ruby Riott and McCool. Speaking of which, first-ever Divas Champion McCool had the most eliminations with five (Sonya Deville, Liv Morgan, Molly Holly, Vickie and Lana) and was looking like a dark horse favorite before she was finally expelled by Natalya. Proving equally impressive were NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon — who faced off with Asuka in a renewal of their rivlary — and Mae Young Classic winner Kairi Sane, who delivered Insane Elbows to Sasha and Becky before suffering an upset elimination from Dana Brooke. Asuka, Banks and The Bella Twins survived all the way to the Final Four. The Boss and The Bellas wisely ganged up on Asuka, but Sasha, who was the No. 1 entry in the match, got a little too enthusiastic and shoved the twins aside to get her shots in on The Empress of Tomorrow. Nikki & Brie responded by tossing her over in unison. The Fearless One shocked the WWE Universe when she eliminated Brie moments later, mouthing the unmistakable words to her stunned sister: “I want this.” Asuka, as it turns out, wanted it just a little bit more. Despite suffering a Rack Attack 2.0, The Empress of Tomorrow lured Nikki into a slugfest on the apron. And it was Asuka, with a quick-thinking swipe of Nikki’s legs, who was the last woman standing. Alexa and Charlotte made their way into the ring to find out which title The Empress of Tomorrow would select to compete for at WrestleMania, but unlike Men’s winner Shinsuke Nakamura, she never got the chance. Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey made her entrance to the strains of Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation,” stood in front of the three competitors and pointed at the WrestleMania sign, seemingly implying that she was calling dibs on whichever woman Asuka didn’t select to be her opponent at The Show of Shows. While The Empress of Tomorrow slapped Rousey’s hand away as she went to shake it, guest commentator Stephanie McMahon was much more receptive as Rousey made her exit.The interaction between Ronda and Stephanie implied some kind of agreement had been struck, but for now, the implications of her appearance remain unresolved. Only two things were certain as the Women’s Royal Rumble Match concluded: That 29 women weren’t ready for Asuka, and there’s only one more standing between The Empress of Tomorrow and a title.
WWE Backlash 2018 Predictions: Samoa Joe Destroys Roman Reigns
WWE have a big event last week? Well, I guess we'll just have another one this week then. That's right, the next PPV, WWE Backlash, comes to the WWE Network on Sunday, May 6 from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The show will start at a more traditional time--8 PM ET / 5 PM PT--compared to last week's Greatest Royal Rumble. Additionally, there will be a Kickoff Show airing on both the WWE Network and YouTube.
AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
(For the WWE Championship)
If seeing AJ Styles get punched in the crotch when the ref isn't looking is your thing, then you'll love this match. The Styles/Nakamura rivalry has been phenomenal--pun intended. Both these men are fantastic storytellers in the ring and the rivalry between them has been the highlight of Smackdown. This will be the third match between the two, with Styles winning the first one and the second ending with a double countout. I'm thinking Nakamura will win here, and the two will fight each other, one more time, at the next PPV.
Our prediction: Nakamura wins
Secondary prediction: Styles gives a low blow to Nakamura
The big deal with Backlash is that it will consist of both Raw and Smackdown superstars, as all WWE events from now on will feature wrestlers from both shows. Additionally, there are a couple crossover matches at this event, including one for the Intercontinental Championship. The main event for the evening will be Raw's Roman Reigns vs. Smackdown's Samoa Joe, who recently returned from injury.
Luckily, because of the new dual-branded PPVs, the next WWE event won't be until June 17 for Money In The Bank, which will be in Rosemont, IL. This will help cut back the big events from 16 in 2017 to 12 in 2018. More could be announced for this year, but that's currently how many WWE has on the docket. For now, however, there is Backlash, and make sure to come back to GameSpot on Sunday for live coverage of the event.
Braun Strowman & Bobby Lashley vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn aren't making any friends since moving to Raw a few weeks ago. Now, they'll have to fight the biggest men on the Monday night show, Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman. This really feels like a case of Raw trying to find a place for three big stars and strapping Lashley to it just because. Hopefully, this won't be a squash match, and we're giving the win to the big dudes.
Our prediction: Strowman and Lashley win
Daniel Bryan vs. Big Cass
Every WWE fan is waiting for Daniel Bryan to take on The Miz, and we'll get there. However, standing in Bryan's way is Big Cass, who just returned after injury and is super jealous that Bryan's return is getting all the attention. Will Cass get his revenge for Bryan stealing his spotlight? Alright, this storyline is weird and forced, but I like that it's a speedbump on the way to Bryan fighting Miz. This won't be a one-and-done match though. Cass will get the win here, and the two will have a rivalry, leading into Money in the Bank.
Our prediction: Cass wins
Carmella (c) vs. Charlotte
(For the Smackdown Women's Championship)
At the Smackdown after Wrestlemania, Carmella cashed in her Money in the Bank contract and won the Smackdown Women's Championship; however, she couldn't have done it if the IIconics [sic] hadn't given Charlotte a huge beating in the ring prior to the match. Now, Charlotte wants a rematch, and she'll get one at Backlash. Carmella is known for winning big events using classic heel tactics, so I am thinking that's going to happen one more time here.
Our prediction: Carmella wins
Seth Rollins (c) vs. The Miz
(For the Intercontinental Championship)
If Miz doesn't win this match, this will probably be the last time we see him have a battle for the IC Championship for now. Seth Rollins is still a new champion and already has a bit of a friendly rivalry going on with Finn Balor. Because Miz is now on Smackdown, where the United States Championship is, I'm giving the win to Rollins, so he can progress on the Monday night show.
Our prediction: Rollins wins
Nia Jax (c) vs. Alexa Bliss
(For the Raw Women's Championship)
Much like the Smackdown Women's Championship, Raw's title is on a new face, and before the champ can move on to a new contender, the past rivalry has to be wrapped up. However, the battle between Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss is far from over. There is a lot of bad blood between the two, but Jax won't come out on top this time. Bliss will come out the victor, and the two will have a rubber match at Money in the Bank in June.
Our prediction: Bliss wins after interference
Welcome back to the GWWE match results. This is the last reveal before we get to the top 100, so buckle up as we head into the home stretch.
