so like "stardew isn't revolutionary" etcetc but the one thing it got so right that i wish every other farming sim had it was the seed dispenser thing

i was shocked when the cows and chickens required different feed in fom as if stardew isn't the only game i've played where they don't need different feed

somehow managed to forget for a minute there that stardew does in fact also have a crafting system pfft

they are very different systems though

didnt know it was possible to get this many hearts this early in but im not complaining

as it turns out if you bug shane every day and give him a pizza on his birthday he'll dance with you during the flower festival

im surprised i didnt think you could get a dance partner in the first year without using some serious speedrun strats

the thing about farm sims that dont let you grow crops in the winter (and dont claim realism, not with sdv at least) is that i get bored halfway through the season and then never touch the game again

loaded up my old sdv valley save (winter year 4) and like. whats happening. i have no clue what most of this is. was i prepping for the apocalypse.

started a new file on sdv and. man. "i dont know you why are you talking to me"🥰🥰🥰

unpopular opinion, which you can very easily disregard because i’ve only played like a handful of farming sims, but sdv isnt that great. its fun. it has great mechanics and festivals. the characters

but even still, i wouldnt consider it some sort of. pinnacle of the farm sim genre.  the way people talk about it like it saved the genre is just plain strange to me

i will say a lot of the things i disliked about sdv are in coral island too. some of the features are better (artisan machines can load three items at a time) but theres other stuff like apparently you cant grow things in winter (aside from wild seeds) so thats. you know.

also why are all of the older-coded LIs male? like? not to imply that i want the best for pam specifically but like i literally bought her a house so--

i wanna play stardew valley again but i left off somewhere in year 2 and im Afraid

oh and you know how i basically said "why wont sdv let me date any older depressed ladies" well once i got sdv expanded true to form i immediately zeroed in on claire

couldnt load the sdv expanded mod because the custom music wouldnt load and im sitting here already getting tense because if any workaround involved going into the console it would be difficult for me (who has very rarely used it)

only to find out like half an hour later that the custom music mod wouldnt load because i didnt have an audio output. legit just cause my monitor doesnt have speakers it broke the entire mod

i love coding. would hate to have to learn about it someday

maru's 2heart event is funny because ive never intentionally sought her out, only ever given her things that just happened to be in my pocket when i ran into her

and then had the hilarious experience of going to the carpentry shop to upgrade my house only to be met with her father staring into my soul and telling me he doesnt approve of me for his daughter
