I mean... I really don' know much about 'em. I jus' know Riff don' like 'em, and I trust Riff, so I go along with it, y'know? I ain' gonna go outta my way to be rude, tho. They seem nice enough when ya talk to em. Well, until they pull out the knives 'nd heaters 'nd stuff.

No, 'course not!! The Jets saved my life, man! If I didn't have Riff, Scotty, Mouthpiece and the other guys, I dunno where I'd be.

Robin "Birdie" Baletti — WSS OC Backstory!

Italian-American, 15 y/o

Blonde hair, gray eyes, lots of scars + cuts; 5’7”

Backstory under the cut: ‼️‼️TW: suicide, violence, knives/blood/gore that kinda thing, and ptsd/panic attacks‼️‼️

Raised by Roman Catholic parents who had immigrated to Italy years before his birth 

Robin is the youngest of seven children

Father’s a drunk, mother doesn’t want to fight back, you know the drill

2nd oldest brother committed suicide at 19 because he was gay and his parents found out

Found out he was trans + bi at 12

Parents found his journal and read through it, finding out he was “a queer”

His father (completely intoxicated) threw him down on the kitchen table and grabbed a kitchen knife, performing very painful (and shittily done) top surgery on his “only daughter”

Robin gathered what little things he had left and ran away that night

The Jets found him passed out in an alley, drenched in blood and hardly breathing, and somehow (only God knows how) saved his life

He becomes one of the Jets at that point, crashing in open lots

The Jets helped him cut his hair + pierce his ears!

Whenever he sees his parents “in the wild” these days, he panics and darts into the nearest building or alley. He can’t stand to face them

Received his Jet name (Birdie) from his odd fascination with birds, and from his way of creating little “nests” to sleep in each night

Still has frequent nightmares of his parents (particularly his father), waking up screaming and sobbing most nights

Is terrified of Riff when he raises his voice, half of the time going into a full-on panic attack

Became best friends with Scotty soon after he joined the Jets :D

Dreams of being a journalist one day — loves reading books and writing/telling stories

Has no desire to reestablish a connection with his family, but any time he hears something bad (e.g. another sibling passing away, his mother getting sick) he starts crying

What does your parents think about him??

Scotty? ..Well, my father is strict about him, tells me that I should stay away from street rats like him and find a better, richer man.

My mother however, she likes him.. tells me he's really nice and in which I agree with her. And tells me that I should find a boy who takes care of you and respects you.

What do you think about his(Scotty) friends?

They're really nice really, I'm glad he had good friends.. even though they can be a bad influence on him, but overall they're really nice and good people

Well.. he's a nice guy, respectful, cute, he can be stupid at times but that's okay

He also respects your boundaries, generally. So he's a good guy
