Guest Speaker: Josh Norris

I am an avid consumer of podcasts and learning about the production aspect and life of a successful podcaster was very interesting. Although sports is not my niche, I still learned a lot about working for media companies and what that entails. Josh Norris has had a lot of experience for both small business startups and large media conglomerates such as NBCUniversal Media, and spoke to our class about the aspects of both. I was very motivated to start creating digital content after he came to our class. One of the biggest takeaways I got was that in order to be successful as a content creator the key is to be consistent with posting content. Josh was a very relatable guest speaker and reminded us of his experience at Elon since he graduated in 2011. He highlighted the importance of being involved in extracurriculars such as ENN, and  WSOE, which he credits to his success today. He also reinforced that it is very normal to be bad at something the first time, heck even the 20th time you try it. He was very honest about his experience when he was first getting into podcasting. It is very easy to be extremely critical of yourself and it is important to recognize that it is okay to procure content that is not perfect. In this day and age it is so easy to be hyper critical and hard on yourself but it is important to let those emotions go and avoid getting wrapped up in it. Josh was very outgoing and had a funny personality which he attributes to his success. He is someone that I enjoyed listening to and was very enthusiastic about his passion for podcasting.

Compete for World No. 1 in WoW Classic: Event Location in Las Vegas

WoW Classic gives players the opportunity to return to the Azeroth continent 15 years ago.
