Recipe for the Perfect Kitchen

The kitchen, as we all know, is the heart of the home. Maybe even out of all the rooms in a home, the kitchen is where function meets style. WRJ Design, an award winning interior design firm here in Jackson Hole has the perfect recipe for creating a kitchen that intertwines purpose, creativity and love. 

WRJ’s first and foremost ingredient that goes into kitchen design is YOU! They take into consideration everything from how you like to entertain,  the personal style of cooking for each chef in the home, to your family’s sentimental cookbooks and china. They have designed a questionnaire for their clients to be sure they have a crystal clear idea of how to best personalize your kitchen space. 

Lighting is key to a working kitchen. People gather here, work, create, and mingle in this space, which tends to be the center of the home. WRJ believes in having plenty of natural light as well as combining aesthetically pleasing accent lighting. This design ensures your kitchen is functional while working and beautiful when it’s not!

As for the larger pieces in a kitchen such as counter tops, range and hood, WRJ treats them as “pieces of art”. They love sourcing exotic stones for your counter top, it’s a defining design element in any kitchen and should make a statement. They take into consideration other elements in your home when thinking of these focal points, which we think is brilliant. For instance, they might source a custom-designed stove hood in bronze to tie in with other bronze in the home.

No detail is too small for the WRJ design team. “We focus on every single element, making sure that each works in harmony with the others. In this way we’re able to create a feeling of harmony in the whole kitchen.
