Brood parasitism is a subclass of parasitism and phenomenon and behavioral pattern of animals that rely on others to raise their young. Just because a parasite leaves the nest doesn't mean it won't continue to feed.

LOVE ON AiR 2. YAP CENTRAL EP.135: alpha male podcasts?!
Tumblr media
WARNiNGS » pop culture references, profanity, errrm cant rlly think of anything else
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3.6k words (IMSORRY), also it may be a bit confusing but its kind of written like an audio transcript! not all written parts will be like this only the podcast episodes! also this is NOT proofread so pls excuse any typos or grammar mistakes 😞😞
episode desc -  enjoy your stay today in yap central :D ! in todays episode we started off with a deep question about love and relationships and gave our inputs on that. after allll those deep talks we did a good ole blind ranking forms of ‘first dates’. following that up we mention alpha male podcasts and why they should be indefinitely wiped off the face of the earth. to wrap things up we discuss proper aux etiquette *COUGH* kat *COOUGHHH*. hope you had fun with us today and come back to visit yap central!
*the set up is a big living room, there’s two couches, mics propped up. the room has a very calming aura, there’s fairy lights and blankets on the couches. as well as plushies and throw pillows. on the couch to the left, kat, riki, and you are seated, adjusting your seating positions to be comfortable. on the couch to the right, jungwon, giselle, and sunoo are seated. jungwon sits back down after standing and gets comfortable*
jungwon: okay the camera is on now
sunoo: kat i can’t take your costume seriously
*all laugh in unison, riki is pointing at her, laughing and even after everyone is done he still can’t stop.*
yn: for audio listeners we’re dressed as mario kart characters and kat is..
kat: YOSHI *in yoshi voice*
riki: *still laughing* it’s the tail man
giselle: this might be the best theme we’ve had so far
sunoo: no no the one where we switched clothes was funny
*girls laugh at the memory, jungwon groans and rolls his eyes*
jungwon: okay no the girls chose bad clothes on purpose that day
riki: i think we were set up
yn: i lost a beloved crop top that day
jungwon: it was way too tight around my arms!
giselle: that’s surprising considering you have noodle arms
riki: false *makes buzzer sound with mouth* he actually has been going to the gym more often
kat: what improvement won *claps*
sunoo: oh my god did i tell you guys about the comments on my skin care video with jungwon
yn: no? the one where you opened the PR package right?
kat: wait can you give me some of those?
giselle: yeah same
sunoo: of course, thank you dr jart by the way for the package! *he looks to the camera, giving a peace sign*
jungwon: what the hell were the comments?
sunoo: no yeah basically some of them were like oh how cute, or just about the skincare then the others were saying me and jungwon were a cute couple.
*riki moves the mic away to laugh at sunoo, you and jungwon gasp.*
kat: honestly i was expecting ship edits of me and yn
yn: SAME!
giselle: that’s so cute you guys are official!
*riki continues to laugh while jungwon glares at giselle, then looks to the camera*
jungwon: me and sunoo aren’t dating hate to break it to you all
sunoo: you aren’t even my type calm down
riki: rejected in front of the whole world how do you feel jungwon?
jungwon: anyways beep-
giselle: wait before we sign in can we get a water break
yn: yeah i have to go to the bathroom
jungwon: i literally told you guys to go before
yn: would you want me to piss on your carpet
giselle: how would twitter feel knowing you let your editor go thirsty
jungwon: *sighs* go hurry up
*you and giselle walk out of the room, talking but mics cannot pick it up*
kat: did you guys see the whole brooke schofield and clinton kane thing?
sunoo: oh my god yeah.. that shit is crazy
riki: what happened
sunoo & kat: basically- oh no you go first
jungwon: one of you say it
*kat looks to sunoo, nodding for him to speak*
sunoo: basically brooke, the co host on cancelled, dated this singer named clinton kane and he full blown LIED about every aspect of their relationship like he said his whole family died but they didn’t and he faked having an australian accent.
riki: rip you can’t make your mom jokes
jungwon: *laughs* no but there’s no way
kat: no yeah and she made like a tiktok series kind of exposing him and they’re just going back to back.
riki: what does this dude look like
sunoo: *snorts* look him up on tiktok. clinton kane
*both riki and jungwon get out their phones, typing away. the two of them look at their phones then each other. jungwon and riki start laughing*
kat: i know! like how did she date him *laughs*
jungwon: brooke dated HIM?
sunoo: YES! that’s what i’m saying
jungwon: look at his teeth he probably has gingivitis
kat: ugh his breath probably stinks all the time
*you and giselle come back into the room, confused at the conversation at hand and taking your seats. riki stares at his phone confused then looks to everyone else*
riki: wait he’s not a ginger
yn: what?
riki: his hair is brown idiot
jungwon: wait what are you talking about
sunoo: riki are you on the right account stupid
riki: i literally am. you said he has gingivitis, he’s literally not ginger
*giselle gasps and starts laughing, causing the others to laugh. riki laughs nervously*
riki: what
giselle: gingivitis means the tar on your teeth, not being a ginger
sunoo: oh my god *wiping his tears away, still laughing*
*riki groans, making everyone laugh, once collected jungwon clears his throat, sitting up*
yn: thank god we came back to that
giselle: i know
riki: okay guys that’s enough it’s not that funny
sunoo: oh it is.
jungwon: alright, can we sign in now?
*jungwon looks to everyone and they nod, each getting comfortable in their spot*
jungwon: beep beep! you’ve arrived in yap central im your co host for today, mario.
riki: and i am your second host, luigi
jungwon: starting from the far left we have
kat: yoshi *in yoshi voice, waving to the camera*
yn: princess daisy! *you show your crown, smiling.*
giselle: princess peach! *she gives the camera a peace sign.*
sunoo: and i’m toad *he giggles at his hat, the top of the toad.*
yn: i think out of everyone’s i love kats costume
*kat laughs, pulling her yoshi onesie hood over her head. making the others laugh and smile at her.*
jungwon: she’s so lucky she’s in a onesie me and riki have these stupid ass gloves
riki: i don’t know man it’s kinda sick
sunoo: *taking a sip of his water* is it not uncomfortable
giselle: it’s giving mickey mouse
riki: it’s giving your mom
sunoo: guys riki discovered your mom jokes today
kat: well your mom has ligma
sunoo: the fuck is ligma
yn & kat: LIGMA BALLS!!!!
*everyone bursts out laughing at the immature joke. sunoo does not look amused yet still laughs along*
jungwon: it’s the way i saw it coming too
riki: i saw your mom coming
yn: pause??
sunoo: oh that’s not
giselle: boyfriend! i’m nervous!
*you, kat and giselle all giggle at her little reference*
riki: wait no-
jungwon: dude my mom watches this
riki: i’m sorry miss yang i didn’t mean it
jungwon: SHES MARRIED.
riki: okay then what do i call a married woman?!?
kat: mrs, not ms.
riki: see was that so hard. *riki looks to the camera, interview style.* i’m sorry mrs yang i promise i will never say anything like that again
jungwon: yeah she doesn’t watch the pod man, but thanks for apologizing to all the mrs yangs out there!
*you and kat hold back your laughs as you look at riki. riki then rolls his eyes and jungwon earning a smile from him and opens his phone to the questions he has pulled up.*
riki: everyone ready for the first question?
*they all nod, shifting in their seats a little to get adjusted. you sip from your water, giving your attention to riki and making sure the mic doesn’t pick it up.*
riki: it’s kinda deep, is it easier to love or be loved.
giselle: *gasps* that’s good one
jungwon: it came from the patreon
riki: since i asked the question let’s start on the other side, sunoo.
sunoo: i think being loved has like a feeling you can’t  replace you know.
yn: i agree, it’s like everything comes like full circle when you’re being loved by someone. it’s a really good feeling.
sunoo: i do think though, to give love and to be loved has like its cons too. say if you were in a one sided relationship and you were giving love to someone who wouldn’t want it back, it hurts a lot.
jungwon: it’s just draining on the person overall.
kat: but i feel like if you were on the other side of that isn’t it equally as bad? you know if you were being loved by someone who you didn’t love back it’s just another issue because you feel like you owe them your love
giselle: i agree with you, kat i do but i think it’s so much more tolling on the person giving love because it’s like you’re giving a part of yourself to someone else to cherish and hold.
sunoo: wow that was poetic
giselle: i know right?
kat: yeah i get what you mean
giselle: giving your love is just so much deeper. sure to be loved is such a great feeling but giving your love isn’t just surface level, it’s like you actually love that person so much, and it’s so passionate too.
riki: but that can be said for the other perspective too
giselle: you’re right
yn: i honestly think being loved is something everyone gets to experience once in their lifetime, it’s not only limited to intimate relationships
jungwon: ahh you have a point
yn: you get to be loved by your parents, friends, anyone really who cares about you. it’s a good feeling and i think that almost everyone should have that kind of feeling in their lives.
sunoo: what would you describe it as?
yn: i think it’s different for every relationship. like for example being loved by my family is the thing that nothing can replace, it’s like a warm hug after a long storm. it’s familiar and it’s a feeling that i just think i would give the world to have all the time.
riki: im the same way, even though i don’t live near my family anymore i miss them like crazy all the time. like my moms hugs.
sunoo: ughhhh my moms hugs, im gonna drive by and hug her after this
kat: are you gonna open the door and just give her a big fat hug and leave
sunoo: you make me sound like a situationship who fucks you then leaves
giselle: not our fault you worded it like that
jungwon: i agree with you though yn. i do think that being loved just offers so much more than just intimate relationships.
riki: i do too. but i see giselles point too. why did i have to pick the best question ever. *riki groans but smiles in the process, making kat slap his arm.*
sunoo: you just wanted an ego boost.
niki: perhaps.
jungwon: i think that it’s a tie, both of them have their pros and cons
kat: that’s a good way to end it
sunoo: didn’t know it was a deep podcast today
riki: sorry *laughs nervously*
yn: no it’s okay i liked the question *you smile to riki, rubbing his shoulder*
giselle: yeah same
jungwon: well then you guys are gonna like this next segment.
kat: wait let me guess would you rather?
jungwon: no
kat: scenarios?
jungwon: no kat-
kat: opinions on the [BLEEP]?!
*the group look to each other, then burst out laughing.*
giselle: fuck i’m gonna have to edit that out
kat: what?
sunoo: we cant talk about the [BLEEP] thing remember.
yn: yeah or else it’ll be our neck. according to [BLEEP]
jungwon: guys stop bringing it up now we have to bleep all of that
kat: sorry.. *she smiles nervously at jungwon and giselle and they both wave her off*
jungwon: what i was trying to say is that our next segment is blind ranking
sunoo: oh my god i love these
yn: same
jungwon: topic is first dates
riki: okay well i can’t participate i’ve never been on an actual date
*sunoo moves his mic away to laugh at riki, riki stares at him to shut him up*
jungwon: yeah that’s why i chose it for our episode dumbass. anyways there’s five of them so here’s the first one. a music festival
kat: oh my god 3 duh
yn: ehhhhh 5?
kat: *gasp* what
giselle: yeah im with yn
sunoo: yeah 5
kat: why that’s so fun
yn: it’s too sweaty like i had to be super comfortable to even go to head in the clouds with riki and won
giselle: i feel like that’s cool to do if you’re already dating but first date? i don’t think so
jungwon: majority rules sorry kat
kat: yall are fake
riki: okay next one is a classic, the movies
sunoo: honestly 4
giselle: maybe 3 i don’t know it’s very like highschool
yn: yeah i see what you mean. i think it’s just weird because what if you’re watching a popular movie and neither of you really like it. also you can’t really talk to get to know the person
jungwon: personally this is a 5 for me
kat: it’s so like.. middle school
riki: doing that damn arm stretch.
*everyone laughs at riki’s joke as he fake yawns to stretch his arms and put it around kat, making her laugh even harder.*
jungwon: i was abusing that card in highschool
yn: it’s so corny eww *laughs*
kat: no it’s kinda smooth if someone can pull it off
sunoo: i remember i did the counting shoulder thing in middle school
yn: oh my god i remember that
riki: i never heard of that one
kat: like 1, 2 *she counts her own shoulders* and 3 *she puts her arm behind riki, him laughing as she did it*
giselle: that’s a good one
jungwon: so movie 4?
kat: yep movie 4.
yn: this is so fun
jungwon: the next one is go karting
sunoo: OOOOO
yn: might put this as a 1
kat: okay but what if they choose a really really good one for the last one
yn: ugh you’re right
sunoo: im saying 2
giselle: lowkey 3
yn: noooo its so fun. like its playful and it’s not too much talking where it awkward. and then after that you can grab food and talk
riki: that honestly sounds perfect
kat: okay you’re convincing me
sunoo: let’s stick with two because i know they’re gonna pick a good one
giselle: okay yeah 2
riki: next one is eating. like going out to eat
yn: 3 it’s a safe choice
giselle: yeah it’s safe
sunoo: oh my god what’s the last one i’m excited
jungwon: sitting at your number 1 spot is a date in the park
kat: oh..
*you and sunoo side eye one another, and start laughing*
riki: you guys fumbled
giselle: ugh we should’ve put go kart at 1
jungwon: i would’ve put go kart at 1 too
yn: okay park isn’t that bad
sunoo: no it’s bad imagine all the bugs. and there isn’t a single cute park where we live
kat: that’s definitely 5
giselle: yeah i agree
yn: what time are we at won?
jungwon: about an hour. you guys ready for a break
riki: yep, i’m gonna go grab water
kat: yeah i have to use the bathroom
*riki and kat get up, moving their mics. they both walk out of the room. the rest of the group continues to scroll on their phones, checking notifications. giselle laughs and sets her phone down*
giselle: did you guys see the top albums of all time? from apple music.
jungwon: *snorts* yeah, yn what’d you think about the list
yn: oh i loved it, i think there was too much classic rock on there but my girl lauryn hill sitting pretty at number 1
sunoo: i love that album, like it’s so good
jungwon: frank ocean was top 5 i think we’re getting an album
*giselle laughs, shaking her head*
giselle: i fear we won’t be getting one for a while.
yn: no but imagine not knowing who lauryn hill is?
*sunoo and jungwon side eye each other but stay quiet to let yn go on*
yn: you must have some shit music taste if you don’t know lauryn hill is all i have to say
sunoo: must be an alpha male
*giselle, you and sunoo laugh. jungwon looks at sunoo, holding back a laugh*
jungwon: cmon we weren’t gonna talk about it
yn: speaking of alpha males let’s talk about alpha male podcasts. have we ever covered that?
giselle: don’t think we have
sunoo: it has to be rage bait
jungwon: well no have you seen andrew tate, he was like so serious about it.
yn: i think alpha male podcast are so stupid. like you must be so sensitive about your masculinity if you have to run a podcast all about it.
*riki and kat enter the room, taking a seat*
kat: what are we talking about?
jungwon: lauryn hill and now alpha male podcasts
riki: i fucking love lauryn hill
kat: alpha male podcast should be wiped off the face of the earth
giselle: and they invite like instagram models on there and like flame them for no reason
jungwon: they are like the bane of this existence
sunoo: honestly is it just me or like recently has there been an uprise in podcasts
giselle: no i get what you mean
yn: i think when all those like old youtubers started doing podcasts they became popular again.
riki: everyone and their mom has podcast
kat: dude we have a podcast
riki: yeah.. we’re everyone and their mom keep up
*you laugh next to him, shaking your head*
jungwon: you guys ready for the last question
giselle: mhm
jungwon: so as surprising as it is we’ve never talked about aux etiquette on this podcast. what do you guys think proper aux etiquette is?
giselle: i think proper aux etiquette is playing music that everyone listens to
jungwon: yeah.. *jungwon glares at kat, making you and riki laugh. kat furrows her brows in confusion*
kat: um hello im an amazing dj
sunoo: you’re in fact not
yn: yeah babe
kat: *scoffs* what! wait do you guys seriously not like my music?
riki: well no it’s just whenever you’re on aux-
jungwon: which is all the fucking time
*you and sunoo laugh*
riki: like i was saying whenever you’re on aux, you always try and get us on to the music you listen to and it’s just shitty house music like *starts imitating one of the songs*
kat: you guys don’t appreciate taste
jungwon: you mean noise? yeah we don’t
*kat laughs*
sunoo: hot take i really don’t want music when im hanging out with my friends
yn: your worst take yet
sunoo: okay what the fuck
riki: i’m sorry but pitch silence? fuck i’d go crazy in a car with kat and yn
yn: rude
riki: you two talk soooo much
kat: not our fault you’re a nonchalant emo
jungwon: *laughing* fuck
giselle: i agree with sunoo to an extent like it depends on what we’re doing. if we were going to a club or something i’d want to get hyped up but on the way back i would want to debrief
sunoo: yeah i agree with that
riki: let’s rank us in terms of aux
jungwon: kat is dead last
kat: your music taste isn’t amazing i don’t know why you’re talking
jungwon: least i can admit it
sunoo: the girls are fighting..
yn: i think it goes kat in last, then sunoo
sunoo: wait what
yn: your music taste isn’t like versatile. no hate it’s just not great on aux
sunoo: yeah well yours is shit too
yn: don’t care *you stick your tongue out at him making him stick it out back, the two of you giggle*
giselle: i think first place is between riki and yn
yn: my brother just another me
*you and riki fist bump each other, giggling*
jungwon: it’s gonna go to their big fat egos
riki: frank ocean is never gonna release an album ever again
jungwon: take that back
riki: your mom
kat: as much as i hate to say it jungwon might be second. it’s tied between you and giselle
sunoo: so we agree that kat should never get aux
giselle: she’s always fucking arguing for it too
*the group laughs*
yn: like damn if you’re gonna fight for aux atleast put on music we all like
kat: ugh fine i will next time
riki: next time im getting aux
jungwon: we’re gonna hear emo music the whole ride
riki: to be emo is to be free
giselle: rikilations
sunoo: what time are we at?
jungwon: an hour thirty ish. should we end it?
kat: i mean did you guys have any other questions
riki: nah i didnt, did you? *he looks to jungwon*
jungwon: nope
giselle: okay sign us out then
riki: thank you for staying with us today at yap central we hope you enjoyed your stay.

Ok first of all thank you so much for writing the fics and taking your time. I’m honestly so tired of other people and not keeping their opinions to themselves… ignore them your perfect in my eyes ✨
Also ima need you to drop more of your skincare routine/ products because I’ve never had my skin so 🤌🏼
That moisturizer you recommended to someone else for dry skin is saving me 😩
HI BABYYYY
Thank you my darling angel 😭 ngl this made me feel better — it’s been hell at work this week so I haven’t written a ton (plus, y’know, dealing with bullshit).
IM SO GLAD MY RECS HELPED!! I got another anon asking about my skincare routine and it got buried, so I’ll re-share — especially since I’ve made a few changes!
AM routine
Garnier’s micellar water to cleanse (pink cap — I think the blue and green leave a residue and I don’t like it)
Byoma’s balancing face mist
Natrium’s niaciminacide acid serum OR vitamin C (never together!)
Cosrx snail mucin essence (this is a winter step, just to make sure my skin stays nice and hydrated)
Byoma gel eye cream (the de-puffing one)
Byoma gel moisturizer
Beauty of joseon sunscreen (SPF 50)
PM routine
I start by double cleansing — it’s SUPER important to double cleanse with an oil-based cleanser especially if you wear sunscreen!!
Cleanser (1) — natrium’s oil balm/makeup remover with a warm washcloth
Cleanser (2) — I alternate every other day with youth to the people’s superfood cleanser (I just got it and I’m obsessed) and panoxyl (10%). I’ve also used versed’s jelly milky cleanser on non-panoxyl days, and I love that, too!
Byoma’s balancing face mist toner OR beauty of joseon’s ginseng toner (I alternate)
Natrium’s hyaluronic acid serum (apply while face is still wet from toner — otherwise it won’t absorb properly!)
*optional* face mask — usually a Dr Jart’s sheet mask, 2-3 times a week
Versed’s gentle pressed retinol serum
Cosrx snail mucin essence
Cosrx snail mucin 92 all in one cream
Versed rich skin soak moisturizer
An eye cream from No 7 but idk which one it is — brightening??
And I sleep on a silk pillow case! That helps with skin stuff (and hair)
happy skincare!

Hey so this is maybe a weird question but how did you started with this blog?🙇‍♀️ I was thinking if I do it too but not quit sure. I have many hc about some characters and when I read some writings it looks so cool ya know? If you have maybe some tips could you maybe give me some?:(
hi! its not at all a weird question!
i started by figuring out which of my things i actually wanted to fix up and post. once you have an idea of the kind of content/image you want, you then really just need formatting. Formatting is the hardest part by far, but once you experiment a little it goes pretty quick.
i personally have photoshop, that's how i made my banners! (If you would like some banners like / or unlike the ones i have, i am more than happy and willing to either make them for you or walk you through the process yourself! its not too difficult, but depending on the look you want, there is sometimes a bit of a learning curve)
and when I write/format my headcanon pieces, i go online and find some text symbols(❖✦★) and i use those as bullet points. i work those into my stuff before i copy/paste it into tumblr.
ALSO i don't know what program you prefer using to write on, but i don't like the thought of saving all my stuff in google docs (i'm shy and paranoid) and  i personally   h a t e   microsoft word, so i use Jarte (which ill also leave a link for) not only because its basically fully customizable from appearance to key command, and you can install it to thumb drives, but also because the website is from like 2004 or something and it makes me giggle. (they also have a free puzzle website, if you're into that sorta thing) ((i am)) and if you're shy about your writing irl, i recommend a thumb drive and then enabling bitlocker on windows cause then you can lock the drive and open it with a passcode. it makes me feel a little more comfortable.
i use rich text format option for my posts, but for my masterlists i use HTML so i can code the colors in. i use the basic colors and if you need any help with HTML here's some commands and i am happy to help more with that!
I was nervous about posting my stuff even though i already had it all formatted so i spent some time fixing up my ✨aesthetic✨ and writing a little ‘about me’ post along with a request outline post and such before hand so i could feel i had more of a “presence”
another thing, posting times. now to be fair most people who go on tumblr to read fanfic typically browse through and spend some time, but you also kinda want your stuff to be something they’ll actually see, so while you may have to experiment with this, some basic good posting times are first thing in the morning (which baffles me endlessly) and last thing at night (sort of) so try posting at like 7am or 7pm. some of my best analytics (not just from this blog) have been from 5am - 8am, 6pm - 10pm, and then ill get random bursts on weekends where its active from 1am - 4am.
ALSO CONTENT WISE this is gonna sound a little weird but it makes total sense, so if you can.....write smut. my smut pieces have BY FAR the most notes and are what is actually getting people to notice my stuff. now you don't have to limit yourself and you'll probably still get recognition regardless, but its a bit of a quicker way. I don't really write smut v often, my mind automatically goes straight to fluff, but i had two things already written out so i posted them on a whim and they're my most interacted with posts.
anyways i recommend it! its a nice hobby and it helps me strengthen my writing.
also come off anon! message me or smth so i can help out more and read your stuff if/when you post it!
hope i helped! and if you need anything else or more clarification (i tried to keep it brief) my ask box is always open

Oh, sorry for not being specific. I was referring to your post titled "Good Endings for a Yandere." There was this part: Heck, there’s a manhwa with a male yandere happy ending that I love, but whenever I think about it I’m like, “Yeah in real life that guy should have gone to jail…a LOT.” I was wondering what manhwa you were referring to.
Oh!  Thank you, I know exactly what you are talking about.  I was a little nervous to admit it at the time, but the manhwa I was referring to was 100% Perfect Girl.
In case someone hasn’t heard of it, I should make something clear:  This manhwa is a guilty pleasure of mine.  I enjoy it because it’s one of the few fairly longer media (11 volumes) where the male yandere (Jarte) is actually one of the main protagonists.  This is romance focused, but of course my favorite parts are when Jarte acts more antagonistic.  Yes, the couple does end up together in the end as well.
I cannot guarantee that everyone is going to like this particular manhwa.
If you like warnings or want to understand a little more as to “why,” check below.
Again, like the quote in the answer here suggests, this IS one of those cases where the yandere does several things against the S/O’s will in an effort to keep her.  Things that if they took place in reality, I’m going to go, “Nope!  You’re out.  You don’t get to be with her after that.”  But I’ve said before time and time again that I can still let fictional events slide a little if I’m enjoying the characters and/or the story.  Seeing character development and reflection is always a plus as well.
I suppose I don’t feel as traumatized about things happening to fictional characters than I do real live people (usually...The Kite Runner still left a scar with me, so I will understand if some people say “I can’t stand seeing my favorite characters get hurt”).
Jarte does force himself on the female S/O (Jay) at least once or twice in the later chapters for example.  It’s not as graphically depicted as I’m used to seeing, but it’s pretty obvious it was unwanted.  So if that’s a hard concept for anyone, keep yourself safe and give this a skip.
Otherwise, believe it or not I’ve seen yanderes act a whole lot more hostile than Jarte eventually does.  Maybe that’s another reason why it doesn’t bother me as much.
Anyways, so why I call this a guilty pleasure is because it is genuinely one of the few LONGER yandere media I’ve found that’s also strictly focused on the yandere and the S/O.  I really do have a hard time finding longer yandere media.  It may also help that I like it best when Jarte’s being antagonistic in the later volumes.  This probably shouldn’t surprise anyone here because I’ve always said I prefer “romance turned horror” yanderes.  I still view Jarte as a pretty solid yandere overall.  No guarantee he’s necessarily a character everyone will like, but just because you don’t like a character, doesn’t mean they aren’t a yandere.  It’s the same vice versa, where liking a character doesn’t necessarily guarantee that they are a yandere.  You have to look carefully at the character’s overall actions and motivations/emotions.
I did see genuine character growth and compromise in this story towards the end, so that’s another plus.
100% Perfect Girl is...interesting to say the least.  I like the drama in the story (it is ENTIRELY drama).  It is over the top sometimes, but I did find myself enjoying seeing how the two characters reacted to the same situation, and how they are affected as individuals with each aftermath.  There’s a point in the story too where the characters are not together for awhile (I won’t spoil why), so that gives you another view regarding the relationship.  The two main characters also do TALK a lot with each other regarding their relationship.  Yes, there are significant points where they withhold thoughts or don’t speak their true mind.  But eventually they always place their full thoughts and concerns on the table with each other.  Communication is the key in any relationship after all.
The kicker here is...all of those points I just listed as to why I like this manhwa can also EASILY be the reasons why someone might HATE this story and/or characters.  Especially with the talking.  You may either like how they communicate with one another, or it may be done in a manner that drives you insane.  It’s hard to explain.  This manhwa feels kind of unique with how the characters interact...though I’m not sure why I feel that way either.
I had a friend I suggested this manhwa to and made sure to both warn them and apologize prior to them starting the story XD  I believe they got through it all the way, and they did end up hating it.  I apologized again after all was said and done, haha.  They made good points though on their complaints, and then we had some fun coming up with different story scenarios where Jarte’s just the flat out antagonistic yandere, and the love interest for Jay was someone else.  I’ll admit, I think the ideas they came up with were actually better than how 100% Perfect Girl played out.  I would have read those :P  What can I say?  I liked Jarte being the bad guy the most.
As for whether the good ending Jarte and Jay get is believable and warranted...well I think that’s kind of up to the individual reader.  If I told you different scenes that happened in various parts of the story, the viewer could say “yes” or “no,” but that wouldn’t be a fair judgement.
If you want to read the story and decide for yourself if you accept the two being together in a fictional format, my suggestion is you take into account the entire journey and character changes the protagonists go through.  In other words, judge the story and characters as a whole if you’re going to give the ending a thumbs up or thumbs down.
That could either be a lot of fun for someone to do, or a nightmare honestly.  Depends on how critical of a view you have and if you enjoy the kind of story it is to begin with.
I feel like I tried very hard here to make some kind of point, but I just ended up falling flat on my face.  Oh well.  Haven’t written any long yandere posts in awhile.  I also just wanted to cover my bases prior before someone comes running back to me saying, “Violet you didn’t say THIS would happen?!” or “How on earth did you think I should have viewed these two as a valid couple?!”
They just end up together guys XD  You can decide if you like that or not yourself.
On a side note, if you read 100% Perfect Girl and like it, you could try reading another one of Wann’s (the author’s) manhwa called Give to the Heart.  Sadly, I never found a free way to read this one, but there are one or two characters in it you MIGHT classify as a male yandere (who are main characters).  Between the two, I like 100% Perfect Girl better.  So if you read 100% Perfect Girl and DON’T end up liking the story, I think I gave you the lesser of the two evils, haha.
Fun Fact:  One thing I consistently hate about Wann’s work is that I can’t tell if the characters bite their lips a lot, or that’s just the style of how he draws them >_

The swingset he had sat on to stargaze was one of the few things of this new world he understood. And Gordon guessed that was because, like him, it wasn’t new at all. The entire playground stood, an endless reminder of what had been lost. A symbol. A grief. A prayer. A promise.
It had remained. The swingset, rusted and broken and forced into complacency of horrors remained.

DO YOU HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN? WHAT ARE YOUR GO-TO PRODUCTS AND BRANDS? SHARE BELOW! _______________________________________________________ Over the course of my 2-decade copywriting career, I’ve had the honor to work on some really cool skincare brands — some, industry icons. Since the early 2000s, I’ve written for Kiehl’s, SkinCeuticals, Dr. Gross and Dr. Jart, to name a few. You may notice that science-based, dermatologist, clinical brands are my favorites. The world of skin care is vast and varied, dynamic and diverse. There are numerous brands I admire that I’d love the chance to work on including The Inkey List, Drunk Elephant — and First Aid Beauty! I’ve always admired the clean, clinical character of the science-based “FAB” brand. Now more than ever, clean skin care matters — and makes sense. First Aid Beauty was founded in 2009 by Lilli Gordon, a mother, grandmother and entrepreneur with a background in beauty who, like so many, struggled with sensitive skin. And early on I recognized that the First Aid Beauty products were formulated to calm skin, prevent irritation — and do nothing that could antagonize the skin, particularly sensitive skin. The brand uses tried-and-true, soothing ingredients like Colloidal Oatmeal, Oat Kernel Extract, Shea Butter, Feverfew Extract, even honey, at active levels. Here’s how much I trust FAB to comfort my skin when it’s at its most sensitive. Last weekend, I was testing a potent Glycolic Acid treatment and, as expected, my forehead was inflamed for hours after. The only skin care I trusted was First Aid Beauty! 5-3-19 I’m terrifying
so there’s nothing like getting up at 6am the day before graduation and your teacher tells you you forgot to turn in a paper you hadn’t written.
needless to say I spent the first few hours of my day writing a paper from scratch.
it doesn’t help that this week my skin has gone absolutely nuts, leaving me covered in red marks. I’ve tried alot of drying lotion and soothing things, but still.
this morning I used one of the chok-chok cleansing clay beads, followed by the cleansing milk. I used a little bit of acid to get the flakes off and now I’m wearing a terrifying dr. jart rubber mask to clear up and settle my skin before my ceremony tonight. I’ll follow up with my snail bee serum and maybe the sleep mask stuff to moisturize since I’ll be putting on alot of makeup this afternoon.
while you should always be proud of yourself no matter what, the red acne marks are still upsetting. bleah.

Review: YADAH Quick Tattoo Brow Gel from BB Cosmetic 💕 use ‘N8P36ZLIFZY98′ for 8% off!
As promised, here’s the second part of the review! I’m collaborating with BB Cosmetic, an online Korean beauty product retailer, who has kindly sent me two products to try out. Check out my first review here if you haven’t~
Disclaimer: Though I received the products from BB Cosmetic, everything written from here on is my honest opinion about the experience I’ve had with BB Cosmetic as well as the product.
A short introduction about BB Cosmetic, BB Cosmetic has been around for about 5 years now and they’re located in Korea. These guys stock a lot of Korean beauty brands be it roadside stores or the higher end luxury brands. Some of these brands include the currently really popular skincare brands like Cosrx (which I’ll be posting about soon so please watch out for it), Dr Jart+, Troiareuke and makeup brands like 3CE, Labiotte, Innisfree etc. They are active on Instagram and do have giveaways quite often so follow them on their account if you don’t want to miss out!
Moving on to the review for the tattoo brow gel!
After liaising with their beauty coordinator, from the choosing of the products to informing me about the tracking number of the parcel, I’d really like to commend them for their professionalism when it comes to efficiency. It took only about a week for the whole procedure and roughly 3 working days for the parcel to arrive from Korea. The package came well wrapped and nothing was dented inside.
Tumblr media
The brow product is a soft peel-off product that doesn’t cause skin irritation. On the packaging of the product, it said to trim my eyebrows (which I obviously didn’t, y’all can see my unkempt brows below), and apply the product onto my brows. I applied a pretty thin layer of the product because I was afraid that the product might be too dark for my brows. I waited an hour for it to dry before I peeled it off, starting from the tail of my brows. A word of caution from the packaging was to not use a cleansing product or apply a forced touch on the applied area within 24 hours. It was kinda difficult but I managed to avoid those areas eventually.
The application of the product was smooth, the gel seemed thick so I only applied a thin layer on my brows. Here’s how it looks like immediately after I applied it.
Tumblr media
Really dark isn’t it? Anddddddd 1 hour later...
Tumblr media
After I peeled off the product completely! Sorry I couldn’t show the peeled off product because it literally came in scraps. The bits and pieces I peeled out were too small and couldn’t be seen so I gave up trying to take a picture of the peeled off product. This is my bare face guys, I only applied the brow product since it was already late at night.
The end result was pretty astonishing, I really didn’t expect the gel to turn out so dark on my brows even though I only applied a really small amount. Guess it’s good value for money. And even though I got the #Deep Brown, it looked more Brownish Black than anything similar to my hair colour. I liked the way it turned out on my brows though, it still looked pretty natural to me and it gave my brows a natural shape. I dig it so much hahahaha!
The applicator is super easy to use and the ends of the brush didn’t open up/split while I was applying it, meaning I could control the shape of how I wanted it to be applied with ease.
Tumblr media
This is how the colour I chose was supposed to turn out!
Tumblr media
Maybe it was the lighting or something, but my brows looked much darker than that. Also, I tried to find this product on the application (화해) that I mentioned yesterday but I couldn’t find it. I’ll update this post if I ever do!
Overall rating for YADAH Quick Tattoo Brow Gel (#Deep Brown): 4.5/5
Colour: 4.5/5
Thumbs up for the really even colour that turned out on my brows, though I was expecting a much lighter shade that matched my hair. The colour wasn’t bad, just a little too dark for my liking but nothing a brow mascara can’t solve. I personally liked the effect it had, basically giving my brows a proper shape. 🌟
Lasting: 4/5
It’s really lasting, it’s been over 24 hours since I’ve applied the product and it’s still on my brows. Not causing any irritation, redness or itch. It feels extremely comfortable and I actually like the fact that it’s lightening a little so it looks even more natural than before. 🌟
Packaging: 5/5
No complaints about the packaging, the box is self-explanatory, there are instructions in English too if you’re unsure about how to use it. The product itself was packaged like any other browcara product but the applicator is really good. I thought it did the job pretty well. Though I must say that one wrong move and your forehead ends up with a mole for the next 24 hours so do be careful while applying it. 🌟
I’ve never had the chance to try tattoo gel products before, so this was the first time I ever tried such a product and I really do recommend this to people who are super lazy and don’t want to wake up early to add the brow section into your makeup routine. Just do this an hour before you sleep and you’ll be brow ready the next morning.
At the same time, you do need to be cautious while applying it because some skin types may be sensitive to peel-off products especially. And not to mention, it’s pretty darn difficult to wipe off the marks made by the gel once you apply it.
Price wise, you’ll be able to find this product at 9.58USD alongside free international shipping on BB Cosmetic!
I’ve finally come to the end of the second part of my very first review! Thank you for reading this! Do leave me any feedback that you feel is lacking from my reviews or any comments/questions you have about this product! I’ll do my best to answer any queries! 💕
Last but not least, a huge shout out to BB Cosmetic for sending me these products! Really really really thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with such efficient professionals and beauty experts. Also if you guys have any questions about BB Cosmetic, I’d love to answer them for you too! 💌

Products To Firm and Tighten
So much of our anti-aging efforts are focused on fine lines and wrinkles, when in reality, loss of elasticity and sagging skin is just as troublesome. A high ponytail like is a foolproof way to make your visage look taught and lifted. But it’s not like you can live your life with your hair always in a high pony — we’re not Ariana Grande! While there is certainly no quick fix for loss of elasticity, you can certainly choose product formulations which will improve the sagging-skin situation.
Here are our top five product pics to firm, tighten, and lift – no needle required.
1. Fresh Black Tea Firming Corset Cream ($95): Powerful natural ingredients such as black tea ferment and goji fruit extract help tighten and moisturize. While certainly not as powerful as a waist shrinking corset, and not anywhere near as uncomfortable, this will define your face and neck in a similar fashion.
2. Biologique Recherche Creme Adn Elastine Collagene Marin ($196): If you’re serious about firming, it may be time to pull out the big guns, also known as Biologique Recherche. These products may not be wallet-friendly, but you truly get what you’re paying for. As we age, our skin produces significantly less structuring proteins, such as collagen and elastin, both of which this cream is chock-full of. Apply before bed to erase years from your face overnight.
3. Dr. Jart+ Dermask Intra Jet Firming Solution ($9) For a quick fix before a special occasion, try this firming sheet mask. Bio-peptides add a bounciness that sagging skin lacks, and coenzyme Q10 and beta-flutan work in tandem to promote elasticity.
4. Perricone MD Essential Fx Acyl-Glutathione Eyelid Lift Serum ($122): As the adage goes, “eyes are the window to the soul,” but they can also become a serious pain point as we age. If you struggle with eyelid creases or crepiness, give this powerful serum a go. Sagging lids can never be fixed entirely through topical gels and creams, but this serum will definitely improve the area. It’s also an ideal eye makeup primer of sorts: eyeshadow applies seamlessly with less creasing.
5. Glamglow Gravitymud Firming Treatment ($59): An intense-yet-effective mask, this product is great for overall tightening. The peel-off formula feels like it’s literally lifting as you remove. Bonus points for the pore shrinkage that it also delivers.

Repairing A Damaged Moisture Barrier
Do you know what your moisture barrier is? If the answer is no, you’re not alone. Many don’t even know what their moisture barrier is until it is gone.  Also known as your acid mantle, it is the top level of your skin that acts as a protective shield from anything and everything aggravating.  As you can see, it is crucial for any skin type to be healthy.
So how do you damage or strip it?  It’s actually a lot easier than you may think.  High foaming cleansers, extreme weather (looking at you, East Coast Bomb Cyclone), or over exfoliation are the usual suspects.  How do you know it’s damaged?  Girl, you’ll know.  Your skin will hurt.  It will feel raw and chapped, and quite red.  You’ll get breakouts in weird places thanks to bacteria having free access to your skin with no barrier.  Even wiping your face with a towel during SoulCycle will feel uncomfortable.
If this happens to you, consider following this routine to get your moisture barrier back in action – stat.
As mentioned, foaming face washes will strip your skin.  Choose a mild option such as Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser ($18) or Drunk Elephant Pekee Bar ($28) to remove makeup and dirt without freaking your skin out.
Since over exfoliation can not only cause this issue but also only continue to aggravate it, all acid toners need to be shelved until your visage is healed.  If you’re a long time toner user and don’t feel quite clean without that extra swipe, consider using Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner ($22).  It will restore your skin’s pH after cleansing while calming and moisturizing thanks to amino acids.
In terms of treatments and serums, anything active needs to be put on hold while you’re in the repair stage.  Retinols, BHAs, Vitamin C, and anything with essential oils are a big no-no.  To moisturize and nourish, mix a few drops of Dermalogica Barrier Defense Booster ($75) into Dermalogica Calm Water Gel ($48) day and night.  Your skin will literally drink up this combination of fatty lipids and hyaluronic acids faster than you can down your favorite cocktail.
If things are really hurting and your skin is especially raw, a layer of La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume ($15) will feel like a warm hug.  It is an amazingly protective barrier on especially frigid or windy days.
Although a major splurge, Biologique Recherche Creme Masque Vernix ($190) is arguably the best mask you can use when your skin is having a nuclear meltdown.  Babies are born with a waxy coating to protect their skin, and this formula is meant to replicate that (sans the blood and other gross parts of labor, obviously.)  To get the most of every precious ounce, we recommend wearing it as an overnight mask to let it really get down to business.
Finally, many foundations and tinted moisturizers contain ingredients that will irritate and aggravate your skin while in the healing stage.  Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment ($52) is the best solution we have found to this problem – obsessed is an understatement.  It deeply moisturizes while protecting from harmful UV rays, and transforms to a neutralizing beige to cover redness and spots.  We heart this green goop in a deep way.

How I Hydrate and Accelerate Problem Areas On My Skin During Harsh Winter Months
Written by @Twist.It.Tea
Thanks to the severe change in weather these last few weeks, and much love to the bomb cyclone this past weekend, my face has really needed all the attention it can get.  In the beginning of the winter season, I was washing my face with BAD SKIN Milk Bomb Eraser and then following up with a hydrating face mask.  But since my face has needed an extra boost of hydration these last few weeks, post face wash I follow up with this amazing little piece of luxury by Eau Thermale Avène, aka my secret weapon.  I use their  Thermal Spring Water Spray  to soothe my skin after a cleanse when my face is feeling very tight.  Not only is it soothing my skin, it eases the redness, irritation and whatever else it feels like doing that evening.  This is my go to when my skin needs some TLC ASAP!  At first I was like, “Ummm, do I really need a face water spray for $18.50??”, and the answer was – yes, yes I do.  This magic water has a low mineral content meaning it doesn’t dry out the skin, which is perfect for these winter months when all my skin needs is some surge of moisture especially before bed when I know my heater will kick on and ruin my skin’s life.  It also has a neutral pH of 7.5 which helps with restoring balance and reducing sensitivity.  I’ve been taking notice of painful little dry spots on my cheek bones and this spray really helped with the burning and inflammation I was experiencing.  Also, side note, before you call me crazy, Avène has been in the skin care game for over 270 YEARS, so I’m going to go ahead and personally decide they know what they’re talkin’ about. I know women who have travelled to NYC to pick this product up when they’ve run out (luckily Amazon has your back if you don’t feel like being extra).
I wish I could control my skin 24/7, but instead I have been finding new and interesting ways to relieve my skin when problems do pop up. Which leads me to my favorite winter time clay mask from Glossier, the Mega Greens Galaxy Pack.  This lovely piece of skin care is described as a juice cleanse for your face.  This cleansing clay mask is jammed packed with all this natural stuff (that I didn’t even know you could put in a clay mask) that particularly helps protect my skin from the nasty NYC pollutants.  The formula is a rich and creamy form of kaolin clay, with various extracts like parsley, spinach, and cress sprout extract. There is also a nice orange peel exfoliant that helps with oil balance, which is good for my combo skin. I noticed in a lot of other reviews that it’s recommended to test this out on a small patch of skin before hand because of a sensitivity issue.  I enjoy the bits of orange peel, it’s not rough at all, but it gives you a nice, clean feeling after rinsing off your face.  For me, this mask has been nothing but positive experiences.  Because you need a moist face to apply this mask, the thermal spray is the perfect face prep.  My only issue with this formula is that I personally need to use more than the recommended dosage of a thin layer.  I prefer a nice thick, green coating, so I know it’s working.  It does give me a little bit of a burning/tingling sensation when I first apply it, but it doesn’t bother me at all and eventually subsides after a few minutes.  I’ve heard of people using this mask as an over night spot treatment, but I usually just lather my whole face and let it sit for 20-30 minutes depending on my mood. If you’re familiar with clay masks you are prepared for the tightness while the clay dries on your face.  By the end of this mask I’m hoping my skin has been thoroughly detoxified with the cleanest of pores and the softest of skin.  Although my skin does feel tight, after using this mask three times a week for the last two weeks I have been able to rely on it to keep my skin hydrated during the winter.  The conditioning element after I rinse off my face is huge for me because I don’t want to take a clay mask off and feel like my skin needs to be shocked back to life. I do need a cooling property after I remove the mask and I immediately tone with my Lush Breath of Fresh Air Toner, which has aloe Vera, rose and sea water *heart eyes*.  The final step of achieving the glow up from dull, tired and dehydrated skin is ….
I need a trusted moisturizer.   So I am either reaching for Dr. Jart’s Tiger Grass, or my new friend – Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream.  First of all, before I move into the formula, I love love love this little container.  It keeps the formula sanitary as opposed to dipping your fingers in a jar, and it’s fun to use.  I wouldn’t take it traveling with me that is the only downside.  But the lid does come off so maybe I can repackage it because I do love to use it AM and PM.  I love when I can find a deep moisturizer that keeps my skin balanced and is versatile enough to be used day and night.  There's no real reason for this besides that fact that I'm cheap, and also running out of room on the surfaces in my room to hold all of my different creams.  But seriously after two weeks of using this moisturizer I’ve noticed a difference in my skin. Thanks to the plantain extract my skin is brighter, and firmer. And also sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer for effortlessly soaking into my pores to release long-lasting hydration.  It contains 6 rare African oils that do everything from nourishing, brightening, soothing and combating against environmental aggressors.  This facial cream is whipped into silky, goodness that feels luxurious on your skin.  I just want to keep applying it over and over again, but the best thing about this product is a little goes a long way. This formula is the perfect balance between powerful and breathable which is what I look for in a moisturizer during this harsh winter season.  This skin routine is heavily geared towards hydration, brightening, factoring in environmental issues and repairing of the skin which is desperately what my skin needs to survive these next few months in NYC.

Grand Salon: 7 Proven Ways to Keep Your Skin Healthy While Traveling
What to do to Care for Your Skin While You Travel
For this week’s blog post we wanted to bring on a new perspective from our friends Grand Salon. Grand Salon is a full-service beauty salon based in Denver, Colorado. They pride themselves on outstanding customer service, and offering the most fabulous cuts, color and style services in Denver. The following is written by Grand Salon and entails how to keep your skin healthy while traveling. Enjoy!
There are a myriad of details to plan when preparing for a long flight. You must consider transportation to and from the airport, your travel documents, your luggage and your complete itinerary. However, many people make the mistake of leaving a travel skin care routine out of the preparation.
The combination of high altitude and the recycled air on a plane can leave your skin dry and cracked during a long flight. Your sensitive facial skin may be especially affected, and, as a result, you may arrive at your destination looking tired and stressed.
There is some good news, however. You can prepare your skin for a long flight just as you prepare in other ways for your journey. Here are seven ways to keep your skin healthy while traveling.
Use a Pre-Hydrating Mask the Night Before to Keep skin Healthy
Our first travel skin care tip is to use a pre-hydrating mask on your face the night before a long flight. Actively hydrating your skin before you expose it to the drying air of an airplane cabin will prevent some of the damage caused by flying.
The night before your flight, exfoliate your skin with a gentle facial scrub. By removing dead skin cells first, you allow the mask’s moisturizing ingredients to penetrate more deeply into your skin.
There are several good options for pre-hydrating masks. If you have oily skin, we like the OleHenriksen Berry Nurturing Gel Mask ($36 at sephora.com). Those with dry skin can try the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask ($26 at sephora.com). Both will give your skin a moisturizing head start for your upcoming travel.
You also could make your own mask by combining natural ingredients such as honey, jojoba oil, avocado, yogurt and olive oil.
Avoid Extractions Prior to Flying
Although you have the best intentions in thoroughly cleansing your skin prior to a long flight, many extractions will actually cause further drying and may even lead to breakouts.
Harsh ingredients can interfere with your skin’s natural pH levels and make it more vulnerable to the drying effects of air travel. Be sure to choose a gentle, moisturizing cleanser such as Neutrogena’s Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser ($9.99 at ulta.com) or Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser ($19.50 at kiehls.com).
After gently cleansing your skin, use a protective moisturizer that contains natural antioxidants to protect your skin from environmental stress factors. You can also mix in some natural oils such as rose water, vanilla or cranberry seed oil into your regular moisturizer for a soothing, hydrating effect.
Avoid Foundations While Flying
Now that your face is clean, it’s time to keep it that way. The dry air on an airplane can make your makeup appear flakey. Any facial wrinkles may be highlighted as a result.
Keeping your face foundation-free helps it to combat the airline cabin dryness. Bring along your makeup kit in your carry-on to apply makeup after you land. If going makeup-free horrifies you, then try a bit of light mascara as well as some moisturizing lip-gloss for your journey.
One benefit of going without foundation is that you can apply facial oil during the flight.
Use Facial Oil During the Flight
Regardless of your skin type, facial oils are great for combating the drying effects of airline travel. They add moisture back into your skin, helping your skin rebalance its pH levels and making it look more soft and supple.
After cleansing your face, apply the oil on your forehead, cheeks, chin, and then gently massage it into your skin. We like Clinique’s Turnaround Revitalizing Treatment Oil ($36 on ulta.com) and Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil ($52 at sephora.com)
Now that we’ve suggested some ways to hydrate the outside of your skin, our fifth tip tackles hydration from the inside out. Proper hydration is essential to healthy skin, and it is particularly important when you are traveling in an airplane.
Drink Plenty of Water During the Flight
Bring along a large empty water bottle to fill after you have passed through security. Then drink all of it during the flight. Although cocktails and coffee are tempting when you fly, we encourage you to skip the alcohol and caffeine in favor of replenishing beverages such as herbal tea and water while you are in the air.
Also, choose healthy hydrating snacks such as fruit and yogurt rather than salty snacks such as chips and salted pretzels and nuts. Your skin will thank you.
Avoid In-Flight Warm Towels
Before they serve a snack or a meal, flight attendants often offer you a warm towel to wash your face and hands. The warmth may be tempting, but we suggest you keep it away from your face, as it may hasten the drying effects of airline travel.
Instead, ask for a cold towel. Another option is to forego the towel entirely and to rely on gentle cleansing towelettes in your carry-on bag. We like The Body Shop’s Vitamin E Gentle Cleansing Face Wipes ($9 at thebodyshop.com) and Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths ($5.59 at ulta.com)
Use a Water-Based Mask During the Flight
Finally, another great way to keep your skin moisturized during a long flight is to use a water-based mask during the flight itself. The cabin will be dark at night, and while you try to get some shut-eye, your skin can be rejuvenating.
There are many sleeping masks that were designed to hydrate your skin for hours, so why not use a long flight as a way to pamper your face? We like the Dr. Jart Water Fuse Sleeping Mask ($42 on Amazon.com) and the Korres Greek Yoghurt Advanced Sleeping Facial ($46 at korresusa.com).
Speaking of rest, getting as much as you can of that precious commodity is important for your skin’s overall health and appearance. Investing in one of those funny-looking curved travel pillows may help you get the rest you need.
Airline travel can be stressful on your nerves, but it needn’t be harmful for your skin. By following these seven tips, you can arrive at your destination – be it for business or pleasure – looking great and ready to go.
