While looking for a green pen I finally found my favorite hairclip. Though I would really like to know why I stored it in my art supply bag because that makes no sense.

Also oddly red/pink Marcy.

You know Anne’s design at the start of season 3 may be my favorite. Entirely because of her hair style. It reminds me of Marcy and Sasha because of the accessories (the hair clip and hair tie thing), and I just find that really neat.

Also reference of the particular version of Sasha that I’m thinking of since she changes hair style more often. And a reference of Marcy entirely because I find this particular photo funny (though her hair clip isn’t quite as similar).

You know sometimes I consider whether or not coffee in Amphibia is not as strong as human coffee or if Marcy is just immune.

Because you see she consumed most of 8 cups of coffee in what appears to be one sitting and went back for more. Assuming the same average amount of caffeine that is almost double the maximum amount recommended by the FDA. But she shows literally no effects.

Meanwhile Sprig and Hop Pop display immediate extreme effects when consuming caffeine such as getting a huge boost in energy or literally gaining super speed. And both consumed considerably less than Marcy did. (Though Sprig did consume it at a considerably faster rate)

And you see I can’t find any information on the effects of caffeine on frogs in comparison to humans because apparently that is not something that people actively write (or at least not without me having to pay ridiculous sums of money to access it). So to quote Anne, “What science do you even do?”

I did find that caffeine overdoses are lethal in some species of frogs. So perhaps caffeine is a more controlled or limited substance, but that wouldn’t make sense given that Sprig was given 5 of them with no problem. And if it was a controlled substance I don’t think they would allow that. But I don’t know because I do not know enough about controlled substances to reach any conclusions about that.

Anyway my conclusion given my complete lack of evidence in any direction whatsoever is that Marcy is just immune because honestly Marcy being a semi magical being with an immunity to caffeine and the ability to spontaneously (and completely unintentionally) set things on fire amuses me. Either that or the Calamity gem’s power was just actively offsetting how much caffeine she drank.

Upon my recent discovery that for some unexplainable reason drawing is actually better for my ability to learn than actually taking notes, I have now started drawing. And because I’m obsessed almost every sketch was of Marcy.

Anyway some of these used the show as a reference, others were mostly just attempting to use photos of actual people as references and most of them I felt turned out really well. Also I got to fully process how horribly wrong every move that Darcy makes is. Which was an interesting tangent.

In addition I have my WIP design of my TOH AU Marcy (minus the mask). She may go through some redesigns later, but this is the current vague state of things.

So a lot of my drawings lately have just been practice sketches. I’m trying to improve on my ability to express character poses, so some of them didn’t turn out quite as well. Or were entirely sketching exercises that will never see the light of day. Okay drama aside they were just bad. This redraw of Darcy though actually turned out pretty well. I really liked how the shading came out. Seriously though I need to draw another Anne as soon as possible, because I cannot have more drawings of Darcy than Anne it’s just wrong.

These two sketches I have more mixed opinions on. I think I might redo them as digital drawings so I can get more practice there though. Especially since I like the overall concept of the Sasha one.

Sasha and Anne put up "(name) wuz here" stickers or carvings I don't really think much of it. But when Marcy does I find it funny entirely because you can pronounce it "Marcy Wu's here" and then its a pun.

I really want to know what Sasha was thinking the night of the Battle of the Bands. Like specifically after the episode had finished. Because somehow I haven't thought about it until now.

You know what life could be worse. I could be offending god with my love of pineapple on pizza.

On one hand, Barrel’s Warhammer is an interesting episode, like it is easily on my list of favorites. On the other, one of the things I think about most often l regarding this episode is just how oddly intense Sasha’s eyebrows are. I couldn’t find a great reference photo but it just amuses me because that’s never the case again in the show.

It’s even weirder in the same episode they’re normal. And it’s not like a determination thing either, because it never shows up in The Third Temple or when she actually removes the warhammer. So I’m just confused.

I stand by the personal belief that Marcy briefly went to college long enough to accidentally set her hair (and possibly the entire lab) on fire during a chemistry class.

If I had a nickel for every time a nerdy autistic character with a green hair clip had her hyperfixations lead to her getting possessed I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

You know the more I think about it, the more I really want to know why Andrias was the one they decided to focus on the emotional arc of in season 3. Like I’m sure there was a reason, but it’s just odd to me. You have Anne, Sasha and Sprig who all have potential emotional arcs and backgrounds that would make sense to explore in preparation for the finale.

Random conclusion of the day regarding the Calamity Trio’s cooking capabilities:

Anne is the type of person who can just throw together a meal without a recipe and it always turns out well. The problem with this is that there is absolute no way to replicate any meal that she makes and asking her will not help.

Sasha is a master at baking, a skill she gained entirely because she wanted to surprise Anne. It was a long quest of secretly mastering the art, as she absolutely refused to give the others anything that was less than perfect.

Marcy can make the best grilled cheese sandwich you've had in your life and literally nothing else. Everything else (in typical Marcy fashion) inexplicably ends up on fire, including meals that don't use the stove or anything even slightly related to fire.

I’m convinced that an Amphibia HTTYD AU would be Sasharcy centric.
