not to take away from charles’ well deserved spotlight in ep3, but man. imagining the devlin house from edwin’s perspective is pretty damn rough in its own right. but in a way he doesn’t even seem to realize or process. like specifically, mainly, the fact that he stands there, unfazed, watching this family get cut up with an axe over and over and over. you know who else got cut up and torn apart and killed over and over and over? you know who else was stuck in a seemingly unending cycle feeling the pain of dying every single time? oh yeah

after seeing the drawing of pom with yonny and dingo I'm curious. What is pom's relationship with all the crew members of the rescue Corp? Friends, Enemies, Aquantinces, in love, etc?

HELL YEAH an opportunity to ramble, i'm gonna answer this in the perspective of my pom wraith au lol

Pom and Shepherd are on good terms! They connect well over being mutual dog lovers (since Pom very quickly becomes a dog lover after spending time with Oatchi). Pom works well when she's receiving clear direction on what to do, and thus appreciates Shepherd's command over the mission. Shepherd's very slightly miffed that the new recruit mastered working with Oatchi so quickly, but she's much more happy that they get along so swimmingly.

Pom and Collin are also on good terms. Pom isn't used to having someone who worries over her, so she's not always sure how to interact with him. Ultimately though, she thinks he's sweet and she's happy to help with anything he'd request of her. Collin meanwhile finds himself more worried than not over the new recruit. She's clearly very capable, but she's quite impulsive on the field and often getting into danger... Not to mention, she seems to runs on very little sleep and food.

These two have a tense relationship. Initially, Pom was very open and curious about what the doctor was doing, but eventually Yonny started to look at her differently and it scared her. She's aware of how sharp Yonny is, and she's beyond concerned he's going to discover her secret (especially given the fact he's the doctor, and any thorough medical examination of her would reveal what she is). Yonny is incredibly hard to read, so it's difficult to tell what he really thinks of the new blood.

Pom and Dingo are friends? Maybe? Pom is a little confused by him. He'll give her unwarranted advice on how to perform well on the field, but he doesn't come out to help her, despite being the self proclaimed number one. And then he claims he's the one responsible for her success. He's kind of annoying... Meanwhile, Dingo is consistently surprised by how well the rookie performs. And maybe he's a little jealous of how easily she seems to be succeeding. He wouldn't admit it, but she's impressive... and maybe just a bit cute.

Pom and Russ are on completely neutral terms. Pom doesn't completely understand everything he talks about despite her best efforts, and it doesn't help that she tends to avoid using his creations anyways. Russ meanwhile basically just views the new recruit as an opportunity to test his new inventions.

Pom and Bernard are on decent terms. Pom is always trying to analyze the people around her, and she's surprised that Bernard is kinda hard to read. He seems impossibly supportive and kind -- Enough so that she's uncertain of his intentions, so she's still reserved around him. Bernard meanwhile is just legitimately very supportive. He thinks the newbie is made of something special and is a WONDERFUL addition to their SUPERB crew.

It also goes without saying that Pom and Oatchi are besties. They become close very quickly with their work together on the field, and they trust one another. Who could ask for a better rescue dog!!

i want him pathetic. i want him dog-coded. i want him insecure and trying too hard to appear put together. i want him to have 15 flavors of daddy issues. i want him to chase after a sense of security he cant have. i want him making mistakes over and over because of his own bad traits. i want him to embarrass himself and hold onto lifelines to piece himself back together.

I’m sure the misery wraiths are a creature of hell in the same way that demons are (a naturally occurring creature) but for some reason the idea that they are formally human souls who have been in hell for so long they’ve lost the shape of themselves, and thus becomes a part of the environment fascinates me. Like imagine you’ve been in hell for potentially centuries, tortured and suffering, driven mad by guilt (as I believe guilt is a necessary part for being in hell in the sandman/dbda universe canonically) unable to grow and change. I feel like that most people would eventually begin to warp and change into something unrecognizable. It may explain their lack of “purpose” too, as they don’t necessarily seem to have a function as far as I can tell, other than being a very inefficient guard dog perhaps. Anyway I think it would be an interesting metaphor for how people trapped in torture and abuse without an opportunity to grow and change become worse and more monstrous than they were previously

Damsel feels like the specific Vessel that all the others would refrain from being cruel or mean towards. Like she is at least on neutral grounds with every last one of them. Let's go over the Vessels from most to least "Hostile" lets go in order. (I am leaving out Chapter 3's that are mostly unchanged from their Chapter 2 form, such as Eye of needle and Den)

-Hostile initially-

Fury would see Damsel as something...off. The bottom of her dress soaked in blood, as she sits on a random tumor sticking up from the ground and smiles up at her. Fury would not want to test her.

Beast would react to Damsel the same way a lioness reacts to a baby wildebeast that doesn't run, but instead nuzzles up to her. With confusion and hesitation. She wouldn't know what to do with someone so, unafraid.

Wraith would simply not interect with her, prefering to brood angrily alone. Damsel's very presence would make Wraith recall her happier days, and hurt her.

Nightmare would get no thrill out of hurting someone who doesn't even consider fighting back or being afraid. She would grow bored and apethetic to Damsel very quickly. Treating her more akin to a potted plant than a conversation partner from then on.

Witch would be bewildered by someone like Damsel, someone soo genuine. She would see this easily betrayable vessel and feel a form of sympathy for her. Being like a cool older cousin that looks out for you while also teaching you new swear words for fun.

-Neutral initially-

Burned Grey would feel like she reminds them of better days and act like a responsible mentor figure,

Drowned would just think Damsel is naive and too chipper and ignore her akin to Wraith.

Wild would not directly interact with Damsel in any way. But in her woods, Damsel would always find a cleae way in and out, free from any harrasment by the more aggresive animal life within it.

Razor would stab her. But when Damsel ran out of "new things to show her" while being stabbed, Razor would basically be like Damsel's shadow. Learning to imitate Damsel to better pretend to be normal, but otherwise, wouldn't think too much of her.

Thorn would not trust Damsel, as she doesn't trust anyone initially. But Damsel being willing to sit at the edge of her brambles and chat does slowly earn her that trust. Damsel would be the first friend that Thorn makes among the other Vessels.

Deconstructed just wants to make her happy!

-Friendly initially-

Adversary would bring Damsel along with her to any competition as her own personal cheerleader. And if the event went well, would treat Damsel to some some form of sweet treat on the way out. Damsel would also be the only one that would willingly taste test Adversary's new workout diet ideas.

Tower would demand Damsel praise her, worship her, as she does all others. Damsel would gladly do so, and the two would become fast friends. Tower would treat Damsel like a treasured song bird who always sings the right tune.

Prisoner is well aquainted with her twins peculiarities. They get along great, but also know to take some time to enjoy being away from the other. Absence makes the heart grow fonder after all...not to mention Prisoner does NOT like being confused for her sister, even momentarily.

Specter and Damsel would be having slumber parties and doing eachothers nails by the end of day 1. Best friends, secret handshakes, inside jokes, the works.

Stranger appreciates that Damsel is willing to address all of themself, and not just one face. This earns her the trust and friendship of even her Monsterous facet. Something no one else has done, while being liked by the other facets of herself.

(high love wraith will be softer, i think. encounters with it will always start with a gentle brush of cheek, a firm - but not painful - grip on the arm, a soft kiss on the forehead, the neck, and the lips, and whispered words of affection. if u stole its necklace then perhaps it'll start off a little rougher to tease. a reminder of your sin against it. but it'll always, always only take one apology to see its face shift to a softer expression before it continues. i like to think that encounters with it will be more frequent. its powers may not be as potent as they are during blood moon, but it will try to make an effort in making its presence known to you. ofc, i don't think it can control what u will feel whenever u feel its presence (the | + stress | +trauma during encounters since u can't really… do a consensual encounter w it while it's in town), but it likes to be with u! it likes to be known! be perceived! you intrigue it. deeply so. is it wrong to wish to be in your presence at most times? if u have set romantic partners, it'll def try to possess them (more often). it makes/can make you uneasy, but this is the only way it can experience what it is to be in a relationship with you. must u really deprive it of this feeling?

also if somehow, by some miracle, wraith became an li… i rlly, rlly want for there to be a chance to gift it smth lol. esp if u stole its necklace. maybe ur gift will not be as valuable as its ivory necklace, but… idk. it could be a chance for pc to apologize with them taking the initiative instead of just taking care of ur children (tentacle/slime/im not sure if it applies otherwise?) and allowing it to control u during the elk street event? i think it'll be nice. maybe. ur gift can't possibly replace what u stole from it and it might not make it as happy as u want it to be but it's still an act of love! from u to it! depending on its love, the gesture can be insulting as it might take it as u belittling the value of its precious necklace, but otherwise it'd appreciate it still.)

I was trying to keep this a secret until I posted the fic but I’m fangirling too hard right now!! The next season of Apex just started today and front and center on the loading screen is Valkyrie. And her team for the season is Wraith and Octane. I had a feeling watching the teaser trailers but the CONFIRMATION.

After going through the lore, I’ve started shipping Wraith and Valkyrie hard. (Titanfall 2 lore helps with that, too) I started looking to see if anyone else shipped them and I couldn’t find anything. I figured it was either too niche or not even a ship thought of. So, I created it :)

I came up with the ship name DarkSkies for them. And after getting past that screen I got to this screen.

And to say I squealed and giggled liked a schoolgirl was an understatement. Am I delusional that Apex will give these two a romantic storyline? Very likely. Am I going to consume every scrap given to me? Yes. Because Valk and Wraith deserve love, damn it. And ooohhh I can’t wait for you all to read the fanfics I’ve written for you involving them 😮‍💨🖤

Crazy idea: DUST being the team leader

DOL RAMBLES of the Day!

Okay so I’ve recently been told of a thing that ivory does specifically because of Sydney and now I have so many ideas running through my head and I need to write them down before I go crazy lol.

So ivory wraith and Sydney are connected right?

And if you have the promise with Sydney the ivory wraith states this

“You are wedded to calamity” which is ivory talking about your relationship with Sydney.

But what if, Ivory and Sydney have the same soul?

We don’t know what the Ivory wraiths “true” name is, or who they really are besides what we know from when they became a wraith after their death due to the schism that happened a long time ago in the part of the forest behind the town before it sunk and became a lake

And a “wraith” is basically the vengeful piece of someone’s soul that remains on earth after their death continuing to lurk and basically be angry at their death and general situation.

But- ivory isn’t like that, (unless you take their necklace that is) ivory in general is a very calm and sometimes even playful, ghost which leaves the idea to believe that they don’t have regrets regarding their death but rather something else and that’s why they became a wraith.

Now then, we know that ivory had a lover in the past, but besides that we don’t know anything about said lover besides the fact it’s heavily implied that the PC is the ivorys past lover reborn.

Also regardless of whom takes the necklace, PC, winter etc Ivory will ALWAYS direct their rage or obsession towards the PC, which leads me to believe that Pc is the second most valued possession or being that Ivory has.

The necklace brought ivory peace of mind during the schism and the tragedy they faced, but PC was their lover who brought them joy and light during their time alive

And ivory still considers themselves “Forever as one” with the PC despite the fact PC has no idea why this ghost is obsessed with them.

Now then onto Sydney, no matter if Sydney is corrupt or Pure, his loyalty and devotion to the temple remains intact, he may become more aware of the darkness in the temple but he won’t ever actually abandon the temple despite this.

The only other thing Sydney is this loyal to is PC, but Sydney isn’t just loyal to Pc, he slowly develops a hint of obession over Pc, it doesn’t quite reach Ivorys level of obession nor Kylars but it’s still there, in the way that Sydney is possieve over Pc.

But here’s another matter, perhaps it’s due to the temple and it’s teachings but both ivory and Sydney can hum a familiar tune to Pc

A song that PC has never once heard before in the game but feels that it’s familiar the minute one of them sings it to her. Sydney says he learned the tune from Jordan but I have never heard Jordan sing that tune before (unless it’s in a future update) but for now I’d like to believe that Sydney just naturally knows the song and thinks he must’ve learned it from Jordan since Jordan is someone they deeply admire similar to how ivory admired their own Cardinal in their past.

But another thing I find interesting this may be just something that can happen but, the game always starts on a Sunday. And you know whose at the temple on sundays? Sydney.

When I first started my new game as “Alorhna” that Sunday morning the first place I went to was the temple to take the chastity test for the chastity belt, and the person who I met afterwards in the temple was Sydney.

And in the game my character already recognized Sydney from school as being a good student and helper etc, giving the air that the two new each other, post-game timeline aka in the past.

In the ivorys memories they also recall meeting the “new initate” the day of their chastity test. However in ivorys memories it says how they hugged the initate and how they were happy that they passed their test which leaves the mark to be believed that ivory met the initate before they took their test as well.

But yes you can meet Sydney in the same way as ivory meets their own initiatie, almost as if history is repeating itself

And if you go through the rite of defilement quest with Sydney and go to the prayer room, Sydney acts in the same madness as ivory when they have sex with you, also just like ivory Sydney won’t let you escape until after he’s satisfied (so you have to do it with him around 4 times) and it’s the same thing with ivory they only let you go after their done. (This is also implied by the fact that ivory may be the one possessing Sydney but Sydney can still be rough with the PC sometimes outside of the prayer room if their agitated enough)

So both ivory and Sydney share a blind devotion to their faith (Sydney to the temple, ivory to their necklace) a growing obsession with you the player that seems to stem much longer than we are aware of. And a familiar song that only the three of you know.

I deeply believe that Sydney is ivorys soul reborn, just as PC’s soul was reborn. but due to the tragedy that ivory faced, their regrets broke off from the original soul and became a wraith.

That’s why this line “You are wedded to calamity” is still my absolute favorite.

for me the line insinuates that ivory is warning PC , that their repeating history by loving Sydney, by loving another piece of ivorys soul. And that Sydney has the potential to become just as bad if not even worse than ivory is now.

“You are wedded to calamity.”

I finally read through the Blue Wraith comic featuring Fenris and ohhhhh I love him. Took a picture of nearly every panel he appears in. I love that they have him show some affection to the mabari dog. Important. Also important for the Orlesian guy Ser Aaron to save a horse from being killed by Gaspard. Good. Another reason to not side with Gaspard in dai.

Fenris really embodies that quote of "The strong must protect the sweet" to me because he takes care to be gentle and kind with animals and kids.

Generation Loss: The Social Experiments.

A title befitting this show, I believe.

I’d like to talk about those last 15 minutes, give or take.

Ranboo & Charlie, the first characters of a show that would grow so exponentially over the course of little over 5 hours.

Ranboo & Charlie, returning to the place where it all began. A first episode of confusion, but not quite fear, turning to a third in which terror engulfed the pair.

Charlie’s death was something that was expected, I’d say. Charlie would give his life to give Ranboo a chance to end the Experiments once and for all, and Ranboo would make it. Charlie’s last words were used to help Ranboo shut the facility down.

He was finished. They had completed the trials. They were free.

So, as any performer does at the end of their show, he bowed. He turned to a room empty of anyone that could applaud him and took his final bow, announcing what had to be their Finale.

Fitting. The finish was in the same room as the beginning, but the veil had been torn down.

Victory wasn’t an outcome that had ever been possible.

Ranboo had achieved all he could, but the game wouldn’t end. Nothing he did mattered, not really. It was all entertainment for them, even after he thought he had broken free.

His final bow was followed by a betrayal.

Tied to the wall, televisions projecting his greatest failures all around them with the threat of death looming over him, he was faced with a choice.

They could Live. Participate in these games forever— after all, he has been an interesting protagonist to follow— and Live. Or he could Die. End it all, right here, right now. He would be free.

But the choice wasn’t his, now was it? No, no it was ours. The audience that had been following him, that had been controlling him, would decide his fate.

They couldn’t play the games again. They had already hurt so many people. They had already been hurt too much.

Ranboo begged for his death. It was the only mercy that could be given now.

And we gave him that.
