He fell asleep on his seat again.
Sophia entered his room to drop off some tea, but it looked like it was no longer needed to encourage him to take a break. She sighed, her lips painting a gentle smile at the pure sight.
She quietly placed the tray down at the table, then grabbed a blanket to tuck him in.
Sirius looked so peaceful when he slept. The stress and worry of his workload were temporarily non-existent in these moments -- a much needed break for always working so hard.
She sat down beside him, a little close to the edge of the sofa to gaze upon his effortlessly handsome features. She giggled softly, just before leaning close to his eyelid and planting a heartfelt angel's kiss on his warm skin.
His eyes slowly fluttered open, softening to a loving gaze as he realized that it was her.  He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close again, her hands on top of his shoulders and her leg rising to kneel on the sofa to support her balance.
"I love you, my little breath."
The words turned into blue butterflies that perched on her shoulder, the undeniable feeling of her adoration for this man in her arms continuously growing at every second.
She places another angel's kiss.
His warm skin turned cold against her lips and her eyes shot wide, realizing that he was now laying down against a bed of white lilies. The butterflies' wings shed their majestic blue hues to dull brown ones and fluttered away, creating a maelstrom overhead. Her hand was placed against his chest -- perfectly still, unbeating, and empty.
Tears were falling from her eyes and onto his cheek, not even flinching against the feeling of her confusion and grief. The clouds darkened and she felt the pit in her stomach increasing the longer she looked at his lifeless body.
But against all of these; he was radiant, glowing, and smiling.
He looked so peaceful when he was asleep.
She hoped that he would wake up when she kissed her against his eyelid -- but he was peaceful.
She was never one for wishing, but at that moment;
"I wish you woke up like you always did."
Her body shook as she shot awake, startled at the sudden drop of her heart. Sirius's hold on her tightened, snapping her out of her confusion.
"Are you alright?"
Soph's wide eyes stared back at his, still adjusting in the dark but she could clearly see the worry on his face.
It was just a dream.
Yet the feeling of loss and grief lingered at the too realistic nightmare and fed the void that filled her heart -- and she sobbed.
She threw her arms around his neck and clung onto him as if the world would take him away so suddenly like in the scenario she's just witnessed, desperately trying to stop her fears from taking over and convincing herself that he was still there, alive and breathing and living.
"It was just a dream, my little breath."
He whispered very softly against her ear, holding her much closer to him and she nodded against the crook of his neck. Her tears stained his shirt and the skin of  her bare neck and collarbone while the cold wind wrapped around her legs and reminded her of the heartache.
"You'll stay alive for me, right?"
He stilled for one moment, then brought the gold band on her finger against his lips.
"I will. I promise."
He smiles wider, the reassurance of his promise dissipates the void in her stomach and the weight off of her shoulders. He cradled her in his arms until her breaths calmed from shuddering to rhythmic. He gently kissed the swollen, warm skin of her eyelid.
She finally looked peaceful when she slept.

If We Were Meant To Be - Sirius Oswald x Sophia Olympia [Cradlesona]
School Days AU Event
Genre: Fluff, Angst
Warnings: Character Death
Check out her profile || student au profile
Tagging: @thecoolsquirrel @wishiwasfictionaltoo @leychee @5-of-spades and the other people on cradlesona discord because you guys threatened me ahead of time;; and @plumpblueberry to get back at all the angst you tagged me in 😤
✧༝┉┉┉˚*❋ ❋ ❋*˚┉┉┉༝✧
"If we were meant to be, you'd look my way." He'd mutter under his breath as he gazed on her, working away with her painting -- each brush stroke mystifying the scenery on the school field. As if on cue, she stopped all movements and glanced his way with a small smile growing on her lips. It took a couple moments before he realized the wonder of it all. A momentary bliss, to make his day better.
"If we were meant to be, you'd accept these flowers." He thought as he prepared himself to ask her out. He knocked on her dorm room, as told by her younger sister that she was free that day. The moment her door opens, her glow outshined the beautiful flowers as she expressed her gratitude. It took a couple moments before he realized the wonder of it all. A momentary bliss, to make his day better.
"If we were meant to be, you'd be mine." He whispered against her ear as she squirmed underneath him, anticipation rushing through her veins at every kiss. Through heavy, ragged breathing she smiled. Cheeks glowing red with wild desire swirling in her eyes, she declared that she was his and he was hers. It took a couple moments before he realized the wonder of it all. A momentary bliss, to make his night better.
"If we were meant to be, you'd forgive me." He prayed. He learned what hurt her most and he silently begged for the fallout to end. He didn't want to lose her, so he gathered all of his strength to talk to her once more but before he could move, she was at his door. Eyes swollen and cheeks stained with tears, she gave him a smile and apologized for lashing out so suddenly. She admitted her faults and he admitted his, the sun finally peeking out from gray clouds. It took a couple moments before he realized the wonder of it all. A momentary bliss, that made the day better.
"If we were meant to be, you'd let me be the man to protect you." He reassured her. Heavily wounded from her cruel cousin's assault, he took each blow of his rapier for her. She held his hand tightly and kissed the top of his bandages, hoping his wounds would heal faster. It took a couple moments before he realized the wonder of it all. A momentary bliss, to make his day better.
"If we were meant to be, you'd be the one I get to grow old with." He proposed. Through the many years they've grown stronger for each other, too good and beautiful to let go now. From his view, he witnessed the rare transition of realizing to shock to joy on her face as she eagerly accepted. She had thrown himself in his arms, too happy to express what she felt in words. It took a couple moments before he realized the wonder of it all. A momentary bliss, to make his life better.
"If we were meant to be, you'd be with me, through thick or thin, in sickness and in health, for poorer or for richer, 'til death do us part." He vowed with pride. He noticed there was not a moment where her smile faltered — making the most beautiful woman in the world be more breathtaking than she already was. She recited her vows and when the priest had given them the permission for their union, he removed the veil that took away his wonderful view. He cupped her cheeks and gently pulled her for a long, passionate kiss as the church bells rang. It took a couple moments before he realized the wonder of it all. A momentary bliss, that made his life perfect.
"If we were meant to be, you'd be the perfect mother of our children." He comforted her as he drew gentle circles with his thumb on her swollen belly, to wash away the anxieties of imperfection. He held her close and muttered more, until she had fallen asleep with a soft smile. It took a couple moments before he realized the wonder of it all. A momentary bliss, that made their future better.
"If we were meant to be, you wouldn't leave me." He chokes on his own breath. He was standing in front of the marbled stone that engraved his beloved's name. Cradled in his arms were their little angel, sleeping peacefully with the uncanny resemblance of her mother. Heartbreaking for it was too soon. Their love blossomed since their youth, but it was never enough. He gazes at his little breath's innocence, her amethyst eyes fluttering as she slowly woke up. It took a couple moments before he realized the wonder of it all — in her eyes held her mother's love. A life-long bliss, that made him know that she would always be with them with undying love and guidance.

Home Soon - Sirius Oswald x Sophia Olympia [Cradlesona]
see soph's profile || see marcus's profile
Genre: Angst, fluff cliffhanger(?)
Notes: Heavily inspired by many Hamilton songs. This was a thank you gift for @plumpblueberry for providing me xi's specialty teat cookies on discord but now we're going in an angst revolution òwó
Warnings: Implied character death
Disclaimer: this was set in a different timeline from the canon, where Soph and Sirius were married before the war.
✧༝┉┉┉˚*❋ ❋ ❋*˚┉┉┉༝✧
Cradle was victorious.
Both the Red and Black Armies had fought long and hard against the Magic Tower, soldiers were marching home and people were flooding the streets once more.
Still feeling elated at the success of the coordination of the Jack of Hearts and her husband's strategy, she hummed the tune of their wedding song happily as she worked.
He should be home soon.
The door opened abruptly, "Lady Sophia, you have a letter." Marcus waves the letter between his fingers, trying to catch her attention.
"If its from my husband, please leave it on the table. I'll check it later."
"No, its from his underling."
And the letter said:
"Minutes before the Kings had declared the country's victory, our Lieutenant General, the Queen of Spades, was killed in a gunfight. The Queen had sacrificed himself to save a young soldier from the last wave of attacks.
"However, from fear and shock, the medics and soldiers retreated immediately due to sudden increase in casualties. It has been days since his remains were found and is now assumed to be gone, eaten by the wild animals in the forest.
"Mr. Oswald was known to be the best strategist in our proud army, and the beloved husband of Lady Sophia Oswald, who was also one of the Chosen Thirteen. He was also going to be the father of their first child.
"Our deepest condolences to you and your family. May his soul soar free on raven wings."
There was a pause.
"Lady Sophia? Are you alright?" Marcus asked quietly, unsure whether it was the right thing to ask or the right time to. His chest tightens at the sight of her tear-glossed eyes and sudden immobile state.
And a long, long pause.
"I have work to do."
The widow had temporarily taken over as the Queen, handing her previous position to Marcus, who redeemed his credibility and trust in the army before the war against the Magic Tower. The gold band on her finger sparkled underneath the glow of the lights in the office, taking the attention of anyone looking her way from her dull, swollen eyes.
When the last of the treaty was finalized, she neatly tucked the papers in an envelope. She sealed it with an azure wax seal, then imprinted the insignia of the Black Army against it. She slid the paper to one side and picked up another piece of blank paper.
And she wrote:
"If we were meant to be, you'd be with me, through thick or thin, in sickness and in health, for poorer or for richer, 'til death do us part; we vowed.
"But was it death that took you away or was it the cruel fate that had cursed me from my happiness for years?
"The idiotic act of my men had me enraged for weeks, but I no longer had the time as I needed to focus on my new work.
"Time.
"What would you do if you had more time?
"Perhaps we could be downstairs right now at the dining hall, celebrating our victory and freedom. Or maybe alone in your bedroom, feeling each other's love and warmth after weeks of separation. Or we could be in mine, telling you of the surprise I've been hinting for days. Or you could finally be with your childhood friends again, your dreams and goals achieved.
"You didn't have to sacrifice yourself, my love. But was there really no other way? I knew you'd fight until the war was won, but you deserved a chance to meet your son.
"May you guide us from wherever you are.
"I love you. Forever and always."
She sealed the letter with a purple wax seal, imprinted the family insignia she's made, in tradition to her maiden family's.
Once the seals were dry, she carefully stood from her seat, scooting her chair farther from the usual, to give space to her growing belly. She instructed a soldier to hand the azure sealed letter to the King of Hearts, while she placed the other against her chest.
The air was cold down the otherwise quiet hallway if the cheerful sounds from the dining hall was ignored. His room was off limits for now, not even his wife can come in. Soph dropped the letter to the ground and gently slipped it underneath the crack of his door.
There were many letters on the floor on the other side, sealed and unread, perhaps, forever. All of it was from her.
Every day she wrote a letter. No receiver, no sender. Just a family seal and her thoughts and feelings in ink.
When dawn arrived, her feet was as cold as the sand between her toes. The salty sea breeze whipped her hair back and made her dress and coat flutter. Cold, but unbothered, she sat at the makeshift bench as a picture show began in her eyes.
"Is this how it'll be for the rest of my life?"
For the past few weeks, Soph had been walking along the shoreline when dawn breaks — like when Sirius was still with her. They would watch the sun rise together, making the most out of the beautiful scenery in each other's arms; a relaxing moment just before work. And now, despite the first rays of sunlight had reached her, she felt like a shell; hollow, cold and abandoned.
But in every sunrise, hope renews itself.
"We agreed our first son's name should be Jonquil, right?" A warm baritone speaks from behind her, sparking life quickly inside the husk like a match being lit.
Somewhere, a king and a wizard nodded silently, before going their separate ways with the faintest smiles on their faces.
He's finally home.

Introducing: Charles Olympia
Tumblr media
// character created here
// meet my cradlesona’s hot cousin! he is an important character in soph’s story and i’ve finally decided to go make him an actual person! i’m not quite sure if he should be called a cradlesona bc he is nothing like me.
Basic Info:
Birthday: March 21
Age: 27
Height: 5′9″ (175 cm)
Blood Type: B
Physical:
Eyes: turquoise blue
Hair: long and straight, brown
Accessories: small golden hoop earrings
Features: a beauty mark below his lip, lower right
Illnesses: psychopathic tendencies
Social:
Affiliation: Red Army
Occupations: Eight of Hearts
Relationships:
Sophia Olympia: cousin, hostile. Though they’ve only met once, Charles knows how her mother betrayed and left the Olympia family to marry a Black Army soldier. He hates Sophia even before they met and when he found out that she had become the Second of Spades, going extra miles to assassinate her and to keep the bloodline pure from “traitors.”
Lancelot Kingsley: leader, bitter. During the meeting at the Garden, a few hours before Alice II’s arrival, Charles threatened Soph and drew his sword at her. Lancelot immediately ordered him to stand down and leave the woman alone in which he obliged half-heartedly. Behind the King, he still plots his attempted assassinations.
Jonah Clemence: superior. Jonah dropped degrading comments when they first met Soph and had been agreeing with him. They’re not the closest, but they both agree on keeping the traditions alive. Little does the Queen know, his unkind comments about Charles’ cousin fuels a fire that cannot be extinguished.
Edgar Bright: superior, co-worker. Charles works with the Bright family, offering assistance whenever Edgar is unavailable. They train together everyday. Edgar would always tease him but he knows how dangerous he can be.
Claudius Bright: father-figure. When he inherited his position as the Eighth, his father had become bedridden. Claudius was entrusted to aid him in his adjustments in the position. As payment, he has agreed to work with his job.
Kyle Ash: neutral. They only talk when he needs to visit the infirmary. Charles dislikes his goofy personality and ignores his invitation to drink out.
Zero: hostile. As someone who “appeared out of nowhere,” Zero understands why Charles hates him. The Eighth would frown when he tries to talk to him, but responds as calmly as possible because he hasn’t done anything to betray the army, yet.
Personality: Uptight and strict—don’t let his good looks fool you. Possessive and very traditional. He comes off as cool at first, calm, collected, gentlemanly and kind, but when you get on his bad side, you’re as good as dead. He hides a dangerous side underneath his stoic features and is unpredictable. There is a weakness, of course, he’s very gentle with his pet deer. He only smiles when he’s petting him. He’s also very appreciative of art and tends to people in the best of his abilities. He finds leisure in spilling blood.
Family and History: Charles is the first son of the previous Eighth of Hearts, conventional and authoritative. Before he was trained, he only heard stories about his cousin but had never had ill-thoughts about her. When he joined the army, his pleasure in fighting worsened, triggering his psychological sickness. He is very aware of his state and has chosen to live with it.
Skills and Special Abilities:
Almost perfect gun aim
Brawler
Cooks
Life in Cradle: The Eighth of Heart’s duty is to aid his Ace and Jack as the commander of the second infantry division. He trains intensively everyday and does he duties effeciently. He secretly sneaks out at night to do his or Claudius’s biddings. For several years, he's grown a hobby of plotting assassinations—usually about "the inevitable death of the traitor."

Surprise - Harr Silver x Reader
FLASH FIC EVENT
Request: Harr Silver + Reader + "I wanted to say "I love you" for the first time without stattering, but that failed" by @the-cashewpeia
Genre: Fluff!
Word count: 665 words
Notes: I therefore conclude I love writing Harr and fluff, mix them together and we get a blushing mess. Is it me or you or him? Who knows? I hope you like it!
* •̩̩͙ ⊱ • • • • ✩ • • • • ⊰ •̩̩͙ *
The warm sunshine puts a smile on your face as you wandered through the markets, greeting those who smiled your way. The spring blooms on display caught your eye, the hyacinths’ fragrance invites you to come closer. The purple and white colors remind you of the man that lived within the forest, your heart flutters at the faint memory of his gray eyes that blended and contrasted well with the hues.
“Alice!” Your nickname booms from behind you the same time a pair of hands grip on your shoulders tightly. A soft shriek leaves your throat and your body goes rigid in surprise, turning to meet the mismatched eyes that were glittering with wild amusement.
“Loki, you didn’t have to scare me like that!” A pout etched on your lips and he only snickers in response.
“Harr said he wanted to have some tea with you today,” There was something in his grin that told you there was something more to it and that he knew all about it, but the chance to spend time with the amazing man in your mind just now would be a lovely thing to do for the rest of the day. You brush off the blatant mischief and before you could respond, he pushes you towards the direction of his humble abode and hurriedly waves you off.
“Why do I have a bad feeling about this?” You grumble underneath your breath as you neared their beautiful treehouse. The air suddenly felt too stuffy, waves of nervousness coursed through your veins and the heartbeat that thummed loudly in your ears is the only noise you can focus on.
"Harr?" You called out as you took a step on the set of stairs that led to the humble abode. A loud crash from inside has you running and when you opened the doors in a haste, your foot gets caught in a messy tangle of yarn on the floor. You catch a glimpse of white and purple at the corner of your eye as you fell, before the familiar gray tattered clothing enveloped around you.
Cradled in a pair of strong arms, you both topple to the floor. Your eyes meet his and there was no denying the red blush that glowed brightly on his cheeks. Harr's eyes flickered past you and he quickly shifts, his hand cups the back of your head protectively and the others wraps around your shoulders. He uses his back to block the falling objects from hitting you and you see a few stationery rolling away as it landed.
"I—uh—" He stammers as he keeps his gaze on the roll of ribbons, completely forgetting that he still had you underneath him and your legs were tangled together. You were almost as flushed as he was when the heat from his body on yours was all you could focus on, your hands grip a little tighter on his shirt.
"I wanted to say I love you for the first time without stuttering, but that failed." He finally turns to your gaze and his eyes grow wide as he realized the spot you two were in. To fail a surprise for you is embarrassing enough, but to have you in his arms and confess his love absentmindedly in such a shameful position has him wanting to dig himself a grave.
He sucks in a shaky breath and hoists himself up to pull away, but you wrap your arms around his neck as quickly as he withdrew. His face was nested against the crook of your neck and a soft, satisfied leaves your lips, a smile following soon after. "I love you too." You turn your head to kiss the tip of his reddened ears, his body finally relaxing on top of yours.
You felt heartbeats racing, although you're not quite sure if it was yours or his—or maybe it was both. Nevertheless, you were happy with his surprise, the hyacinths' fragrance invites you to stay closer to him.

"Hard to Get" [Fenrir Godspeed x Alice]
Prompt: "Why haven't you kissed me yet?"
Word count: 723 words
Warnings: Mild NSFW - dirty talk
Requested by: @joz-stankovich sorry it took a while! I hope you like it!!!
******
"Good morning, honey." Fenrir sleepily wraps his arms around Alice's waist, who was busy fixing her hair to her usual hair-do.
"Good morning, love." She managed to say with a hair pin between her lips. He placed a quick kiss on her cheek. He started fixing his hair beside her in front of the mirror, their postures almost similar and actions almost synchronized. It was their morning routine, Alice would often wake up first to help in kitchen duties with Luka, then Fenrir would stay in bed for five or thirty more minutes before following. "I have to go, see you in a bit!" She waved as she turned to leave, but Fenrir held her hand before she could take another step.
"Where's my good morning kiss?" He smirked at her and Alice playfully rolls her eyes.
"I'm already late, Fenrir. If I stay to give you a kiss, we both know it's gonna go somewhere further." She winked and manages to get away from his hold. An idea popped into her mind, thrill runs throughout her body and she almost felt like skipping all the way to the kitchen. Let's play.
Fenrir was busy with training when he sees her and Luka set down several trays of snacks for their break in a few minutes. Alice met his gaze and gave him a small wave. "All right everyone, let's all take a quick break!" He announced as he jogged towards his girlfriend, who was already starting to give the snacks to the soldiers who first lined up.
He watched her move around as graceful as blankets swaying in the air. He hugged her from behind when the last of the sandwiches were given and attempted to kiss her, but she slightly moved away and giggled.
"Fenrir, we're in front of everyone!" She playfully punched his arm.
"Well at least they know you're mine." He grinned and it set her heart racing, but she had to remain strong if she wanted him to get riled up—although Fenrir was quick to know that she was up to something. "Why haven't you kissed me yet?" He leaned his face very closely to hers and her cheeks almost grew red as quickly as she took a step behind.
"I know that you're never gonna be satisfied with just a kiss, Fenrir." The corners of her lips twitched to a sly smirk. Alice let herself be washed over by her sudden confidence as she wrapped her arms around his neck. He stares at her lips as he placed his hands tightly at the curve of her waist to pull her closer, and Alice didn't miss how his eyes suddenly clouded with lust.
She leans closer but intentionally moved away from his lips and she whispered very softly against his ear, her breath warming his sensitive ears. "And I don't think I'd want just a kiss too—especially after last night; I'd like a few more exciting rounds." She pulls away as she winks. It was his turn to get flustered at her sudden boldness. He'd be damned if he didn't admit he liked it, but the smirk on his face gave him away anyway.
"So you plan on playing hard to get?" He returns the smirk at her and leaned closer to her, but she frees herself from his hold and giggles as she skips away with the tray in her hand.
"Good luck in training!" She sings innocently, as if nothing happened, making his boyfriend's frustration peak at midday. He huffed and bit the inside of his lower lip, before deciding to run after her and grab her hand before she could open the door to the kitchen.
"Once I get you all for myself, I'll fuck you mercilessly to next week." His voice was low and almost a growl that sent shivers to her spine, making her eyes grow wide at the promise. "If you think you can get away for being a brat, you're so wrong baby."
He nibbled against the shell of her ear before sharply pulling her face for a deep, passion-hazed kiss. When she was about to melt into his arms and drop her act, he sharply pulls away and walks back to the courtyard, leaving his girlfriend distressed and hot in frustration.
******
Fenrir can fuck shoot me ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Requests are closed for now, I'll be posting a new set of prompts soon when I'm finished with the remaining ones!

⊱ ──── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ──── ⊰
The Black Army held an emergency meeting when I reported what happened last night. The officers agreed with Kyle’s recommendation, for Alice’s safety and to help her recover. Seth immediately went on full “Big Sis” mode — or whatever he calls it — and started preparing her room, dragging Luka along to prepare hearty meals for a welcoming party for her.
I just hope she agrees to stay with us.
Last night’s incident raised many questions and the security of Cradle was heightened, more soldiers were sent out to patrol this morning and Sirius made changes to everyone’s schedules to maximize the protocols. Everyone in the headquarters had been talking about the ambush and how the Magic Tower could be aggressive with their scholars.
“What if they only intend to use Alice to study magic?”
“But why would they hurt her if it’s only meant for that?” I overheard the conversations between the soldiers by the Black Bridge as the carriage passed by.
The gazettes today were filled with articles and speculations about the Magic Tower, Ray made his statement just before I left and vowed to protect the demoiselle. We haven’t heard from the Red Army, but we’re positive that they’ll be doing what they can to ensure everyone’s safety since the incident happened in Central, both armies were involved.
The carriage slows to a stop and I stepped out, “Alice?” I knocked at her front door.
“In a minute,” Kyle answers. “Alice, your prince charming is here.” His muffled tease was followed by a whack and a groan of pain almost immediately. The door swings open and reveals the two of them — their arms linked together as she struggled to stand properly. She looked better than last night, but she still looked pale and her eyes don’t shine like they did when I first met her.
“You look like you’ve seen better days.” I reach out to grab the bags from the doctor.
“I wish I did.” She shrugs, before chuckling. “You’re not here to arrest me, right?”
“I wish I was,” I smirked when her eyes narrowed at me. “I’m kidding, I’m kidding.” My eyes glanced over to their linked arms, before meeting Kyle’s.
“Her wounds may reopen again if she moves around too much,” He glares at Alice. “Like jumping and running on roofs.” She rolls her eyes and shakes her head.
“You take the fun out of everything.” She lightly punches his arm and pulls away to reach for her pocket hurriedly, pulling out a handkerchief and coughing into it.
"As I was saying."
"Whatever."
"If she starts to feel any different, send her to my clinic at Central as soon as possible." Kyle smiles. "Well, I hope I see you two again when its only your check-ups. If I see you injured again, I'll stab you with needles and hold you down with IV drips."
"Gee, thanks Kyle!" She retorts and walks towards me, her knees shaking at every step. I reach my hand out for her and she hesitantly holds it, "I hate being this weak." She mutters softly.
"Nah, you're good." I reassure, smiling down at her as she steps closer. "Is there anything else I need to remember?"
"Well, make sure she takes her medicine after meals, in case she runs out, feel free to drop by my clinic. Oh, and only use my tools and equipment if she ever gets injured — which I hope never happens." He frowns at her. "Please don't do anything stupid there."
"No promises. But I do promise to stay alive until our little night out." She winks at him and I felt my face flinch slightly at their interaction.
"God, just stay alive and well, would you? No deadlines." He ruffled her hair, earning a fit of giggles from her. "Take good care of her, alright buddy?" Kyle smiles at me and I blinked several times before quickly flashing a grin at him.
"Take breaks when you work." Alice's voice was gentle but stern, "I know how hard you've been working for me and I'm grateful for that. But please, take care of yourself as well." As they gazed at each other and I can feel how deeply they cared for one another. The inkling thought crushes the small bud of feelings I just had the other night.
What made you think you had a shot? You just met her, dumbass.
"Now you're no fun." He mocks.
She locks her arm on mine and I slowly walked her to the carriage, holding the door open for her as she steps in. I put her bags inside then felt Kyle tap on my shoulder.
"I know I'm not physically capable but," he looks directly to my eye with a stern look. "I swear to God if anything happens to her, I'll walk straight into your barracks and take her away. I trust you with her, alright?" He smirks. Chuckling, I nodded at his reminder. I got in the carriage as Alice and Kyle wave at each other one last time before I close the door.
"Good God, he sounds like my father." She smiles, but her eyes were clearly filled with sadness.  "Thanks for helping me out, Godspeed." She meets my gaze and I feel myself tense up on my seat.
"No problem, anyone in my spot would've done the same." I smile at her as she relaxes on her seat and I notice the bandages peeking at the ends of her dress.
"If you don't mind me asking, why do you suddenly care about me?" She asks softly, her eyes watching the sight roll by from the windows and her expression was almost unreadable.
"You were hurt, I couldn't just leave you to die there. Even if you were someone from the Red Army, I'd still try to offer or look for help."
"Thats a lie."
"Its a lie — but you get the idea." I explain and a small smile creeps on her face. "How have you been feeling?"
"A little better. I guess I'm just not used to feeling so weak right now." Her fingers rub her thigh very gently over her dress. "Usually after getting treated by Kyle, I'd be back on my feet and ready to run around again." A chuckle leaves past her lips.
She looked better than last night when she passed out. She had more color on her face and her hair was pinned back like when she worked at the confectionery. A few silent moments pass and she finally meets my gaze again. "Did you.. tell them about my sickness?"
"I didn't, I'm in no position to talk about it." A part of me that wished I did, I was too focused on her wound I forgot she could barely move without coughing every few minutes. Her sigh resonates in the carriage and I was surprised to see her look relieved.
"Thank you, please never tell a soul about it." She looks away and pulls a mask from her pocket.
"What's that for?"
"The route seems rough, inhaling too much dust could worsen my coughs." She explains. I nodded and she turns her gaze back to the window, fingertips rubbing gently on her wound.
When we arrived at the headquarters, I picked up her bags and helped her get down from the carriage. She scans around with wide eyes, taking in all of the scenery in front of her.
"Oh my~ is she the infamous Alice?" My eyebrows furrowed in annoyance as I heard the sing song voice of Seth. He runs towards us along with Luka, with the brightest smile on his face.
"Infamous?" She looks at me. "Just how bad did you drag my name?"
"Just enough for my dog to start playing in it." I tease and she rolls her eyes.
"Welcome to the Black Army!" Seth holds her hand and softly kisses the back of it. "We'll make sure that you're safe and well in here, and we promise to make sure you that you have fun and will always have a smile on your face!"
"We heard from Fenrir that you work at the confectionery, I'll try my best to live up to your standards for the desserts." Luka softly smiles and Alice giggles.
"Welcome to the Black Army, Alice." Ray walks up to us, along with Sirius.
"Ray, Sirius! Its been a while." She waves at them and Sirius raises his hand in greeting.
"You've met them?" I ask her.
"When I first came to Cradle, they were the ones that greeted me first." She explains and Ray nods once.
"She fell from the sky." He says nonchalantly as he walks beside me as if it was a normal thing to happen.
"She what?" I stare in disbelief.
"I had the same reaction," Sirius smiles and gently pats Alice's head. "Good to know you're doing good.. well, sort of."
"Thank you." She gushes as her hands crept up to the sides of her mask, tugging it off her ears. Seth suddenly started squealing loudly, I bet the whole army had heard it from around the headquarters. His hands cupped around her cheeks and squished them.
"Alice!! I didn't know you would look so lovely underneath that mask!" A faint blush crept on her cheeks and she started to giggle. "My, I could just take you away if I can!"
"Uhm, thanks?" Her smile widens. Seth lets her go and holds a single lock of her hair then twirled it around his fingers.
"Now I understand why a certain someone got so.. interested in you." Seth glances over to me with a smirk, my blood almost boiling right in that instant. Play it cool, play it cool.
I looked over at Luka who had the goofiest smile I'd ever seen and I immediately turned the conversation towards him. "Aww, did Luka fall in love at first sight?" I tease, hoping that Alice wouldn't get suspicious.
"..What?" Luka's cheeks flushed pink and his eyes grow wide. "Wait— no-"
"Ohhhh my, our innocent Luka has finally become a grown man!" Seth pulls Luka and shoves him in front of Alice, who in turn giggled in the cutest way I'd ever seen. Feeling my throat tighten at the change of events, I struggled to fight the urge to pull her away. That laugh is too precious, too beautiful.
I want to be the one that could make her giggle like that.
"Alice, meet Luka Clemence. He's not just the Jack of Spades, but he's also the Black Army's best chef! Don't let his soft innocent demeanor fool you though~ He's super strong and mature as well!" Seth eggs them on, grabbing both of their hands and forces them to hold hands.
"Since when did Seth become a matchmaker?" I roll my eyes as Ray chuckles, completely amused by all that's happening.
"So you're Luka. I've heard a lot about you."  She smiles gently at him and shakes his hand.
"Really?" Luka's face starts to relax as he lets go of her hand.
"From your brother. He never shuts up about you." Her eyes roll a little, but a smile was still plastered on her face.
"You.. hang out with my brother?" Luka frowns almost immediately at the thought of his brother.
"Oh God, no. I've met him a few times because he was a frequent customer. He would often ask me to sit with him in the middle of my shift just to say how the cakes taste like home, and then he would go on and on about you." She shrugs.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that." He answers shyly and I could see Seth's smile growing wider at their interaction, then he turned to look at me with a sly grin. This bastard.
"Its alright." She tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear and looks at the ground. "You should really try reaching out —"
"I'd rather not." He says immediately which shocks Alice, her eyes shooting upwards to meet Luka's gaze, before laughing out loud. It was infectious, saving us from the sudden change in the air.
I like how she fits almost immediately with my friends, but there was an annoying pit that grew in my stomach the longer they take her attention — but it was for the best. Kyle mentioned about keeping her company as much as possible, to take her away from the horrid thoughts clouding her judgement. I don't know what it meant, but I'll do it. For her.
"Alright, alright. Why don't we get you settled in here first so you join us for lunch?" I interrupt their excitement. "Then we can talk more about you and all of us."
"Sounds great, I haven't eaten breakfast yet." She finally looks at me with that sweet smile I'd first witnessed at the confectionery.
I want to see you smile like that, for me, always.

"Stay" [Harr Silver x Alice]
Prompt: "I love you, please don't go."
Word count: 841 words
Warnings: Angst (this was heart breaking for me kdahkssjld)
Requested by: @the-cashewpeia I hope you like it and I hope this was angsty enough! ღゝ◡╹)ノ♡

One thing lead to another.
It was supposed to be a romantic picnic by the Lake of Tears after a leisurely stroll around the markets of Central Quarter, but it turned to complete disaster when she brought up the words, "I want to stay by your side."
"You can't stay here, Alice. How many tines do I have to remind you of that?!" Harr's voice was raised, but he only meant to look out for her safety. The disciples of the Magic Tower were still trying to attack her, and Harr could only do so much as an outlaw.
"Harr, I don't care! I want to help you, please! Let me help you!" She yells, her heart breaking at his indirect rejection of her love for him. "You don't deserve to be an outlaw, for goodness sake, you've saved me countless times! I can defend your name!"
"I'd rather be an outlaw than go back in Cradle, knowing that I could put you in danger." He says as he grit his teeth. He was starting to feel so overwhelmed, stunned that someone as wonderful and amazing as Alice would go so far to risk her life just for him. He doesn't deserve her -- but dear God, he loves her.
"Its a risk I'm willing to take, Harr. For you." She frowns, her fists grips her skirt tightly, fighting as hard as she can against the tears that were threatening to spill from her eyes
"But is it a risk I'm willing to take?" His voice was low, his emotions tied a rope around his neck and it gets tighter and tighter as he watches her slowly break. I'm a dangerous man, Alice, I just want you safe. "You shouldn't be sacrificing so much of yourself for others who wouldn't do the same."
The words pricked her heart, he didn't feel the same way? After the many dates and picnics they had together, after taking care of each other, after laughing together, after holding one another, after the memories she would never dare to forget -- he didn't feel the same way.
The tears were uncontrollably flowing now, her heart shattering more and more at the failure of showing him how wonderful life could be beyond the forest and at the rejection of her undying love and yearning for him.
Did I care too much? She gulps, she could no longer breathe from how tight her throat was and it was almost suffocating her. She glances towards him, there was no sign of guilt or worry on his face -- just a heartless poker face that watched her lose pieces of herself.
"I'm sorry." She finally says, harshfully wiping the tears away with her sleeve. "I'm sorry for loving you." Her voice breaks as she turns away from him, his gray eyes growing wide at her words.
"Where are you going?" He asks as Alice picks up her things, avoiding eye contact. She loves me? The thought was so unrealistic, he had to repeat it a few times in his head.
"Anywhere but here." She murmurs as she starts to walk away.
"W-Wait, Alice!" He reaches out to her but she doesn't stop. Would he dare to let her leave? Would he dare to never see her smile again? Would he dare to lose the woman he loves? No.
"I love you." His voice cracks as he yells the words out, loud enough for her to stop in her tracks. He finally breaks, unable to contain the overwhelming guilt of breaking her heart and the need to protect her. Silent tears fall from his eyes, spilling behind his mask and dripping down his chin.
He was willing to take the risk, more than anything.
"Please don't go." He was sobbing now, regretting every word he said. He knew he meant it for her safety, but unknowingly breaking her heart for it, it was unbearable for him. To be the reason of her tears, to be the reason of her pain -- God, he wanted to self-destruct right then and there. "Please, I love you." He was shaking as he closes his eyes.
I don't deserve you, but I will try my damned hardest to be the one.
"I can't.. lose you." The shadows that were once his realm had become hell for him, ruthless words were yelled at him at every corner of his mind and he was drowning in them.
His eyes shot wide as he feels her hands on his cheeks, wiping away the the tears that stained them. Her eyes were red and puffy from the tears, but she had a wide, bright smile on her face that casted away the shadows in his head. "Do you want me to stay?" She quietly asks as she looks at his eyes, searching for him.
"Please." He says almost breathlessly, his arms wrapping around her and pulling her close. "I promise I will protect you with my life, please stay."
"I love you." She whispers against his ear, setting his heart free.
******
I had to pause several times to breathe because this weighed so much on me fksjsksj 1 am thoughts how ya doin'?
Requests are still open btw! ♡

Too Late - Luka Clemence and Andromeda Mercia [OC]
Featuring: Sirius Oswald
Andromeda's Character Sheet
Notes: Shower drabbles that are pestering my mind once again and I wanted to write it down, have at it!
Genre: Angst
Summary: Best friends to almost lovers.
"A toast to the groom; to the bride; from your best friend who will always be by your side." The final words leave the Advisor's lips with a dazzling smile as she raises a glass of champagne to the air, followed suite by the guests who cheers in delight.
It was the night of the full moon and the skies were clear, the lush garden basks in the majestic moonlight and glows ethereally. Tipping a bottle of straight brandy to her lips, the lonely woman sits on the grass with half-lidded eyes and cold fingertips.
"You'll catch a cold, little lady." The deep voice startles Andromeda, she gazes upon the gentle giant who had his hands shoved in his pockets. "And are you really surrounded with.. six bottles of --"
"Brandy, yes." She smiles at him.
"I know how high your alcohol tolerance is but I think you've had enough." He frowns at her as he sits beside her, then tucks away the ends of her tulle gown to make space for him.
"There's never enough drinks, Sirius. The full moon has just reached its zenith and there's plenty more hours until sunrise!" With cheeks flushed, she raises the bottle cheerfully before chugging it down.
The Queen of Spades watches her worriedly, to see her destroy herself had him frozen. The Red Army's Royal Advisor was a very well-mannered lady, she had values and virtues to idolize, strength to admire, wisdom to seek and kindness to love.
The wasted woman in front of him was not the same demoiselle.
"I'm so, so happy for Luka." She speaks finally, the silence between them was too deafening that even the older man wanted to yell. Contrary to her statement, Andromeda had a wistful look on her face, eyes fixed on something beyond the rose bushes. "But why do I feel so devastated?"
"Do you have regrets, Lady Andromeda?" He hesistated to ask.
"Quite a handful." She giggles, alcohol finally intoxicating her brain and she's gone way past her limit, but she takes another swig. "And one of them is attending this ceremony."
Sirius only nods at her, silently telling her to continue. Lancelot had once told him that it was difficult for her to express her feelings and emotions, it took her several months before acting human again after what she's been through. She only trusted Zero then, she let herself be vulnerable and weak without fearing that she would be punished for it -- and now that she's stepped foot beyond her walls, she also learned to trust Sirius.
"Another would be not fighting for what I felt," A dry chuckle leaves her lips and tears started brimming on her eyes. "Look, I didn't know this at the time but, I was actually in love with Luka."
The confession wasn't really much of a shock to him, he saw how happy she was with Luka when they reunited. It was obvious, really, especially with how Andromeda expressed more emotions on her face whenever she was with him.
"How long have you been in love with him?" Sirius asks quietly as she lays down on her back, her dark hair forming a silhouette of a flower around her head.
"I don't know actually," Her breath hitches on her throat as she fights back her tears. "I mean; I guess you can say he's my first love and I love his smile, his blushy face, his strength, his innocence, his cooking skills, his strong will, his kindness, him -- I don't know when I fell in love, but I do know when I realized I did."
"When?"
"When I got my first heartbreak." A hot tear finally slips past her eyes and falls to the side of her face, leaving a salty trail down her cheek. "I realized I was in love with him when I felt heaven and hell fall on me when he told me that he was in love with Alice."
The title, he noticed. She used her best friend's title instead of her actual name.
"I wish I stood for what I felt, you know?" Her voice was breaking and normally she would fight against it, but now she was at her weakest and she couldn't care less. All fucks were gone and thrown out to the other side of the moon as she silently sobs. Eyebrows furrowed, eyes swollen and red, mouth agape and cheeks flushed with intoxication and emotions.
"But I didn't want to take away his happiness. Luka was so happy being with her -- his first love. I understand how it felt because I felt the same when I saw him again. She made him so happy, she gave her everything she can and she loves him with all that she had. It was so beautiful, while would I ruin it?
"Alice was a gift sent from the heavens, an angel, as he described, pure and kind. She truly is and they deserve each other. I am nothing against her.
"I'm a terrible woman, blood-stained and cruel. I've taken many lives, risked my own, and has scarred him for what I was born to be. Why would I hold such a precious man with thess filthy hands? I may have all the titles and glory, but what Luka deserves, was her.
"I can win any battle, Sirius. I'm one of the strongest people in Cradle, but this?" She points towards the wedding ornaments displayed around her. "This is a fight where I'll surely lose."
The older man was at loss for words, her heartbreak was something he never expected to actually feel. It pained him to see her sob until her heart had emptied itself from sorrow.
"If you fought, where would you be now?"
"Isn't it too late for that, Sirius?" Her soft laugh was nothing but a pitiful melody. Her dull brown eyes glances towards his amethyst ones, just before she breaks into tears again. Sirius shakes off his jacket and places it above her torso, sliding up a little to pat her head gently.
The ceremony was supposed to be a joyous one yet the groom himself has his heart shattered at the nearby arc.
It was too late, Luka realizes, he should've brought himself all those years ago to tell her that he always loved his best friend -- no -- his first love.

“For the Treats” [Harr Silver x Alice]
Prompt: ”Please marry me.”
Word count: 1445 words
Note: Harr is no longer treated as an outlaw, and Alice is helping him enjoy his time in Cradle.

"C’mon! I haven't showed you the best confectionery yet!" She pulls him by his hand as she leads her towards the shop. "I heard that they had a special promo today for all of their products!" She turns back at Harr's shy smile.
He was grateful for having a woman like her — unafraid to make people happy, always willing to understand others, earnest yet cheerful. His stomach did mad flips every time they spent their day together and even after half a year, he still couldn't get used to the warm, fuzzy feelings that swelled in his chest.
"Its over there!" Alice points and they see the crowded street, people rushing in and out of the store she wanted to visit.
"Careful, Alice." He falls into step beside her and wrapped his arm around her waist, to stabilize her stand. Alice's heart started beating wildly when he kept her close, taking the lead now to protect her against the heavy current of busy people. Harr was not one for romantic affections, but with small, caring gestures like these, it was enough to make her heart flutter.
They finally stood in front of the shop, reading the beautifully created chalkboard sign. "The owners of this shop are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary! As part of our celebration, we offer 50% discount on all treats.. for married couples?" Alice trails off at the last part, her cheeks flushing.
Harr finally notices that most customers in the shop were couples, who had rings on their fingers. "Well, so much for the promo." He softly chuckles and he looks down at Alice's pouting, flustered face. "We can always come back in a different time—"
"Follow me." She cuts him off as she grabs his hand again, pulling him to a quiet alleyway. Harr's thoughts whirled madly, Alice had never been this.. aggressive in public, his self control was struggling to restrain him from touching her. Tension leaves his muscles when she finally sighs, a soft giggle following suit.
"No wonder Seth gave me these." She reaches to her pocket, two silver bands glittered under the sunlight as she holds them in the palm of her hand. "Seth was the one who informed me about the promo and told me I'd be needing these." Harr's breath gets stuck in his throat as he realized what the 10 of Spades had planned. He was about to go against it, but he stops when she looks up at him with an enticing smile that always gets him spellbound.
"Please marry me." She says with the sweetest voice and the brightest eyes that sparkled against the sun. She glowed underneath its rays as a thin cloud parted, she raised the bigger ring up to him. She's so gorgeous, was all Harr could think of at that moment. His mind started a picture show of her in a wedding dress and veil, petals of white and violet swirling around her as she would look at him with so much love, sending heat all over his flushed face. "Please? Just for a day? For the treats?" She steps closer to him, his eyes grow wide as she uses the puppy eyes trick on him.
"You don't have to do that." He managed to breathe out, a smile forming on his lips. Alice softly squeals in delight. She grabs his left hand and gently put it in his ring finger. She knew what she was doing, it was a dream that was stored at the back of her mind. She dreamed of a future with Harr, although they still have a lot to go through a lot as lovers, it always made her heart scream in joy. She was about to wear the ring on her own, when he gently tugged her hand and took the ring from her. He slid the silver band on her tiny ring finger, before leaning down and placed a soft kiss on top of it. "Shall we continue our date, Mrs. Silver?" His playful side was slowly showing, amusement glimmering in his ash-colored eyes at her reaction.
All she could do was nod, her teeth would have made her lower lip swollen if she bit it any harder. They link their hands together as they make their way back to the shop. They were able to treat themselves with every product they offered, Alice's sweet tooth was satiated and Harr was more than happy to see her smiling all day. He leans down to her ear, whispering in a low voice, "You do know that we're cheating this shop, right?"
"We're not the only ones though," she smirks and looks over at the couple in front of the counter. "Those two reside in the Black Army Headquarters, they're not in a relationship whatsoever though, they just really like sweets." She giggles. When the couple sees them, an exchange of knowing glances between the woman and Alice made her stifle a laugh. "I guess Seth was playing matchmaker today."
Alice and Harr decided to take a leisurely stroll around after, the afternoon glow made the sceneries brighter and the busy people around them made it livelier. Everyone had smiles on their faces when they arrived at the plaza. There were streamers and banners across Civic Center, booths and stands surrounded the area and a stage was set up in front of the fountain. "What's happening?" Alice stands on her tiptoes in an attempt to see above the heads of the crowd in front of them.
"An opening ceremony for the Spring Festival, I think." Harr analyzes, looking over the flowery ornaments around them. When the Masters of Ceremony had announced the official start of the festival, thousands and thousands of flower petals of many colors exploded in the air, creating a fairy tale scenery around them. Cheers and hollers erupted, Alice's hand reaches the air as she feels some of the petals slide from her fingertips to her arms. The silver band sparkled against the last rays of sunlight, enchanting the wizard beside her. Harr watches her smile in awe at the shower of petals, heart racing at the most ravishing and mystical sight he's ever seen — completely falling under the spell she unknowingly casted upon him. It was a spell he was more than willing to be cursed — no, blessed — for, for the rest of his life.
"Harr?" Alice finally feels his stare, blushing when she sees his ever-loving gaze. "What's the matter?"
"I was just thinking." He answers vaguely. He links their hands together, his warmth seeping through her. She pouts, unsatisfied at what he told her, so she steps closer to him and placed a soft peck on his cheek. He's immediately blushing again, giggles escaping her lips at the reaction. He pats her head, sighing softly in defeat. "Do you want to look around?"
"I'm tired, Harr. My feet hurt from running around Central Quarter." She wraps her arms around his neck, tugging him gently as she stands on tiptoes again, to kiss him on his forehead, then his lips. He holds her tighter, no longer minding the display of their affection at such a public place. When they finally parted, there were warm smiles on their faces.
"Let me send you home then, Mrs. Silver." His eyes turned red and a bright light surrounds them both. When Alice, opens her eyes again, they were standing by the gates of the Black Army headquarters.
"Thank you for today, I had so much fun!" She turns to him. The moon had an ethereal glow that outlined Harr, mesmerizing her completely and making her wish she wasn't tired anymore to spend more time with him. "Do you want to go back to the festival tomorrow?"
"Of course."
"I guess this is the end of our little date as pretend husband and wife." She chuckles as she starts to remove the ring on finger, but Harr grabs her hand and pulls it softly toward his lips. After placing a small kiss, he looks longingly at the ring, his breath ghosting over her skin.
"If the time comes," He huffs, nervousness washing all over his body as he tries to find the right words to say. "Will you take my hand and be the person I grow old with?" He finally looks up to meet her gaze. She felt her heart beating faster than it had ever been and so much louder that she could almost hear it, she felt like she was walking on cloud nine. Her smile grows wider, tears brims her eyes and her voice shakes in passional joy.
"I would love to." She promises.

When the confectionery door closed, I see him glance back at me as he realized what I just called him. Shit.
I immediately turned my attention to the other customers, mentally preparing myself for what could happen if he finds out that the delinquent he was just chasing off yesterday was the same woman who had just served him the perfect lunch.
After several minutes, he never came back to arrest me or whatever. I sighed of relief and noticed that people were prepared to leave. As soon as the last customer had left, I closed the shop for the day. Sadly, we were only available for breakfast and lunch today, the owner had some matters to attend to and he usually manages the shop during the afternoon and evening. I looked around me to see if anyone was looking, then grabbed the extra muffin from the display and prepared to leave. I hope he's still around, I wanted to have another round of tag with him.
I quickly went home and changed into what I call "The Uniform." I wore dark tights underneath my dress to cover the exposed skin of my legs and tied up my dark brown knee-high boots. I pulled my hair back into a ponytail and fixed the dark cloak and mask on me and took one last glance by the full-length mirror. The sky became a gradient of orange to crimson, giving out its last rays of light.
I snuck around Central Quarter in the shadows, trying to find any sign of that fuschia-haired cutie. The streets were starting to bustle with people, the Friday nightlife was beginning. I'd been walking around for a while now, disappointed that I couldn't find the Ace.
"Dang, that smooth-talkin' Ace has already gone home, huh?" I ask to no one as I sit by the ledge of the roof. I look up to the sky and see the crescent-shaped moon glowing brightly. I reached my hand out to trace familiar constellations, completely unknowing of what was happening below me.
"We must capture Alice, Lord Amon had entrusted us with this order." I stifle a gasp as I overheard several men heavily hooded with their robes converse in the shadows of the alleyway just below me. The glint of the magic crystals hanging around their neck was visible despite being in the dark.
What do they want from me?
They didn't look too nice and I knew for sure that they're not the type of people I should mess with. I quietly snuck out to the direction away from where they trudged to.
I took the long detour home, hoping that my humble abode would be a safe haven. I'd had several close encounters, but thankfully they didn't see me. With the hoods over their eyes, my dark clothing and the shadows, I was confident that they wouldn't spot me.
I stopped by an alleyway behind a pub, loud music jeering from the windows. I could spot a very familiar redhead drinking happily inside, along with a flustered tanned general. I never thought I'd see two Aces and the Red Army's doctor in just several hours.
I smiled at the sight, but I quickly drew in a breath when I hear several men closing in. "Are you certain she went through here?" One of the robed men asked and I tried to sink deeper in the shadows, hoping that they don't spot me.
Their footsteps grew much louder and it was the only sound that I could focus on. It muffled out the happy drunken songs of the pub and my ears rang at every step they took. I held my breath when they stopped in front of me, but their backs were facing me. They were watching the merry lot inside the pub. "The Ace seems to enjoy his time in the Red Army, we should report this to Lord Amon as well." One of them said.
Just who the hell were they?
When they walked away, I quietly exhaled. I peeked out at the corners and made sure they were not around. Once I've set my foot outside the shadows, I bright magic crystal glowed suddenly. Shit, a trap.
I immediately tapped it, to drain it from its energy then sprinted towards the other direction. "You're not going anywhere, Alice." They formed a line at the end of the alleyway and I immediately turned to the other direction and ran, only to meet another group blocking my way.
Their hands glowed red and before they could do anything, I reached my hand out and reflected their attack, throwing them off in different directions. A man yells as he attempts to attack me with his bare hands, but I was quick to crouch and do a strong sweep by his feet, making him fall to the ground. I immediately grabbed him tightly by his cloak as another man was charging towards me. With all the strength that I could muster from my small arms, I pushed both of them to the side, not realizing there were windows. The men's bodies shattered the glass, toppling limp into the pub. All of the heads inside turned to me and I stare back at Zero and Kyle's wide eyes. "Help me, please!" I yell as I hastily bolted away. A man attempted to block me, but I did a quick wall run, locking my arms around the man's neck and pulled him down hard to the ground, strangling him in the process. I sprinted through the main street and into a crowd, constantly apologizing and looking back, to see if there were any more people following me.
I bumped into a Black Army soldier, and just my luck, it was the same man I had tricked last night. "Hey! You're the prick that threw those eggs at me!" He growls and grabs my forearms tightly. "You're under arrest!"
"Aw come on! Now is not the time!" I struggle to free myself from his grip but to no avail. "Are you really going to arrest some petty delinquent instead of saving her from some bunch of suspiciously dangerous people? Is that your duty as a soldier?!" I yell at him and he looked surprised. "If your duty is to protect the freedom of the citizens of Cradle, then let me go and find who those robed men are! Before they hurt anyone else!" I harshly pull my arm down, making him let go of me and I push him off to the side before sprinting away.
I took several sharp turns and had been running in circles before I break out in the open, just at the edge of the busy streets. I began panting heavily as I quickly scanned the people in front of me while walking backward, trying to see if any of the robed men were still after me. I let my shoulders slump a little and try to relax, letting my anxieties slip away.
"Hands up lady, don't move." I jumped at the startling low voice of the Ace of Spades, his gun aimed at me and a triumphant smirk apparent on his face.
"As much as I'd like to play around, I need to go home—" I say as I turn to look at him, but he grips his gun tighter and more confidently.
"I said hands up, I don't need your excuses." He says in a demanding tone, making me instinctively raise both of my hands. "I promised myself I'd get you when I see you." His smirk grows wider and he moves closer.
"You were thinking about me? That's very sweet." I tease and take a small step back. "Look, sweetheart, you're very cute and all but I really need to go home."
"Your sweet talking ain't gonna get me anymore, punk." He chuckles. I amusingly raise an eyebrow at him, feeling my smile growing wider. I guess he enjoyed the chase we had last night just as much as I did.
"So I did get you off guard after I told you that you had pretty eyes?" I continue to tease him, my arm folded underneath my chest as my other arm rested on it. I leaned my head to the palm of my hand and look at him directly in the eye. "I wasn't intending to really, it was an honest compliment."
"Shuddup!" A small pout on his lips was faintly seen underneath the darkness, I could barely make out the faint blush on his cheeks. "Stop using your magic already dammit! I'm supposed to be arresting you for making such a fuss in the Black Territory! Not getting all.." He gulps thickly.
"What makes you think I can use magic? I don't have magic crystals, let alone naturally possess it. I repel magic, Godspeed." I move towards him and the grip on his gun wavers. I pulled it down as I took another step closer and meet his gaze again. "Now, really, I want to keep playing with you, but I'm currently being hunted down by a bunch of magicians who wanted to give me up to some overlord named Amon. I don't know why and who they are, so I really need to go. If you want to help me, as a citizen that you vowed to protect, that'd be pretty dandy." I let go of his gun and turned to face the direction of my home.
Suddenly, a white bright light flashes in front of me and I had to raise my hands to block it out. A firm grip on my wrist startles me and I see that it was one of the robed men and I immediately willed myself to reflect back whatever attack he planned on me. He toppled backward and a gunshot rings from behind me, resulting the man to fall.
"Alright lady, I don't know what you did but I'm pretty sure that you're not that stupid to mess with these guys." He pulls me to him and aims the gun at the robed man as he staggers to stand.
"The Ace of Spades? Is the Black Army protecting Alice now?" He murmurs and his lips drew a frown. "Lord Amon will not be happy about this."
"We aren't, but now that I see you wanting to hurt someone, you just gave us a reason to." Godspeed shoots again and the man topples back again, but several more robed men started to surround us from nowhere, making me hold onto his jacket sleeve. "This is gonna be fun."
"You and I have a similar taste to having fun," I glance at his smirking face as he grabs another gun in his holster. "But I don't think they're the type to have fun though."
"Lady, watcha talkin' about? I'm pretty sure I don't give a damn about what fun is for them." He laughs maniacally and starts to shoot the men running towards us. I see one of them pull out a magic crystal and their hands glowed in sync.
"You hooligans never learn, do you?" I say confidently with a wide smile on my face as I reach out and repel their spell, the magic crystal in his hand turning orange then fading to a color as gray as rocks. Gunshots ring from behind me and I run towards another robed man, skidding a little as I dodge his sword attack, before doing a spin kick on his wrist, making him drop the weapon. Surprisingly, this doesn't stop him. He groans as he pulls his arm back -- a stupid decision really -- giving me some time to run towards him and make a swift jump, before landing my fist on his face. Another man yells from behind me as I was getting up and I immediately do a quick backflip, grabbing the first man's sword then landing onto my feet. I did a quick turn and slashed the sword diagonally as I kneel, cutting his robe in the process. He moves back and I see his gritted teeth.
"Nice job lady! I'm impressed!" Godspeed yells with a big grin on his face.
"Thanks! Your shooting skills are much better than last night!" I tease and he shoots a quick glare.
"Fall back!" One of them orders and their magic crystals glow.
"You guys are such sore losers." I smirk as a bright light starts to swallow them whole, when the light faded, they were gone. I throw the sword to the side and heave, not noticing that I've been coughing really badly.
"Did they hurt you?" I was surprised that he approached me with a serious face.
"No—no. I'm fine." I wave him off, turning to another direction. I could feel the thick liquid spluttering from my mouth as I cough, my face twisting in pain from my chest. I took another mental note to immediately wash my mask. I also thanked myself that I wore a black one, the stain wouldn't be seen in public.
"Did I hit you last night?" He asks and I turn to him, shocked. "There was blood by the Black Bridge." His eyebrows were furrowed and his eyes dimmed with worry. It’s amazing how he can express so much with just his eyes.
"No, you didn't." I say simply. "If you did, I wouldn't be—"
"Take this!" A sharp pain smears on my thigh and I drop to my knees, the robed man raises his sword and Godspeed was quick to move and kick him on his chest. I groan out in pain, a wide cut on my thigh seeped out so much blood, it spilled droplets to the ground. Shit shit shit, Kyle can't help me with this tonight. He's too drunk to help me.
I turned to the furious gunshots that came from Godspeed, the robed man falling in pain, then the pitch of his voice rose to the sound of a chipmunk. "What the hell do you guys want from Alice?!" He grabs the man and yelled furiously at his face. "What do you guys want so bad, you don’t hesitate to hurt her?!"
"We had vowed to do as Lord Amon commands us, we will not speak about his plans and ambitions to anyone, much less to the Ace of Spades." He squeaked.
"You could've just said 'Sorry, can't tell,' you know? Your unnecessary formality makes me feel more of an idiot." He punches his face and blood trickled from the man’s nose. He pulls out a magic crystal and disappeared from the scene.
I grew weaker as the seconds passed, but I willed myself to apply pressure on my cut. Godspeed runs to me and carries me in his arms, panic suddenly surging all over me. "Let go!" I try to push him away from me but he only tightens his grip on me.
"You're more stupid than I thought, did you really think I'll just leave you bleeding on the ground like that?"

“First and Last Love” [Luka Clemence x MC]
Prompt: “Don’t cry.” (not mentioned at the ask, so I randomly chose one!)
Word count: 1365 words
Warnings: Angst, may trigger anxiety or self-doubt.
Requested by: @leisel-oswald18, I hope you like this fic! Sending love your way (⺣◡⺣)♡*
Prompt List here!
******
He was as beautiful as a porcelain doll — eyes glimmering like gold underneath the sunlight, long locks of plum hair, and the sweetest angelic smile. No doubt anyone would fall for him the moment they lay their eyes on him. He shone just as bright as his brother in the ballroom, but all you could ever see is how the noblewomen of the Red Territory was fawning over his shyness. You can't deny how beautiful all of them looked, they had statuses higher than you could imagine, riches and titles that you could never have, enchanting beauty that almost made you look like a peasant if you stood beside them.
It pained you, seeing how Luka could easily be paired with one of them and they would look absolutely perfect. Not to mention the many gifts that you wanted to buy for him could be easily purchased by these women with one word. He deserved the world more than anything and you can only do so much as an average citizen.
You regretted attending the ball that the ever prestigious Clemence family had organized. Luka asked you to come with him, telling you how much your presence can make him feel at ease, knowing how he would be unable to tolerate his brother's pestering and all the unbearable fancy formalities. Of all the times Jonah's overprotective side went haywire, you wished it was right now, this moment. Right when that gorgeous woman wrapped her arms around his while smiling up at his eyes, the action completely flustering Luka.
You gulped, throat dry and tight as you watched them interact. "Why are you moping?" You let out a breathy sigh when Jonah walks towards you, a disapproving frown on his doll-like features. "This is a party, for goodness sake, you should be enjoying yourself."
"Thanks for the warm welcome, appreciate it." You mutter quietly under your breath as you take a sip from the lovely red wine that was offered to you since you first came. You didn't need his harsh criticism of your etiquettes and behaviour, he didn't need to add more fuel to the flame that burned your heart to ashes.
Jonah notices that you weren't your usual self — the sassy, joyous, child-like attitude he remembers disliking you for. He followed the direction of your gaze and finally sees the distasteful women who threw themselves off his little brother's feet. He was about to speak his mind when you suddenly stood, a quiet huff escaping your lips. "Excuse me, I'll go get some fresh air."
He watched you leave the ballroom, his features softening to worry and he immediately understood what was bothering you. He sighs, admitting a thought to himself despite his dislikes. I'd prefer my dear Luka to be with her, rather than these snobbish, title-glory women.
He made his way towards him, determined to help you in hopes of being able to get closer to his beloved brother. A path parted in his direction, men and women alike bowing in front of him and praising him as the Queen of Hearts. Luka notices this and the noblewomen that once surrounded him makes their way in front of Jonah, the disgust growing apparent on his face. "Leave my sight." He says with authority, catching the ladies off guard.
"But, we would love to talk to you, Queen Jonah—" A noblewoman starts but he pushes himself past them and Luka's frown meets his gaze. Jonah's face melts to a loving smile as he reaches out to hold the shoulder of his brother, but he swats his hand off before he could.
"I told you, I never wanted to be in this party." He mutters under his breath. "They're always like this." He glances over the women who were in a safe distance from them, talking amongst themselves.
"Why don't you get some fresh air outside?" He suggests, hoping he would listen to him. "Alice is outside thinking.. bad thoughts. You should go help her." Jonah found it difficult to say what he wanted to say, he still disliked you after all, but you meant the world to Luka, and he was more than willing to help the woman who promised to make him happy forever.
Luka's eyes grow wide and his feet had already taken a few steps away from Jonah, but he stopped and turned to him. He was frowning and his cheeks had a faint tint of pink, "Thanks for letting me know." He muttered.
Jonah was internally screaming in joy when Luka left the ballroom.
Luka knew exactly how you thought, the same thoughts would whirl in his mind when you're too close with another soldier or gentleman. He knew how you felt and you knew his. It was a match made in heaven, as they would often say about them. You knew exactly how to ease his thoughts and how to make him feel better, but he was a few feet away from you when he suddenly realized, how can I make her feel better?
You were startled when someone leans against the terrace beside you. You meet the gorgeous amber eyes that held so much love for you, it almost didn't feel real. "Surprisingly, Jonah told me you were here." He smiles down at you, but you were already in too deep in your thoughts, you only looked away.
"I love you." He whispers gently and slowly near your ear when he leaned in. The words startle you and your sadness starts to spill from your eyes, your brave facade finally breaking from the long, dreadful night. "Don't cry, darling." His thumbs wipe away the tears that stained your cheeks. "You are my first and last love. You can never compare to them." You finally look at him and he had the most angelic smile that radiated warmth through your cold heart. He pulls you towards him to a warm embrace, gently swaying the both of you as you clutch onto his coat jacket.
"I didn't get to say it enough, but you look absolutely gorgeous. I'm sorry for not showing how much I adore you, its difficult sometimes — the words get all tied up in the air." He chuckles, the vibrations on his chest comfort you to listen to his words. "When you first went out of your room with this lovely gown on, I was so close to losing control of myself. Your lovely hair was styled so elegantly and clean, I could see your beautiful face so clearly. Your gorgeous smile was so bright and beautiful as well, outshining the necklace you're wearing tonight. God, I don't think I could properly describe just how lovely you are." His hands ghosts over the bare skin of your shoulders, sending shivers down your spine. He places a gentle kiss on top of your head, raking his long fingers down your hair. He slightly pulls away from you, his index finger placing itself underneath your chin and he softly tugs it upwards, making you look at the golden eyes that only looked at you with passion, desire, and love.
"I know I say this a lot, but you're such an amazing woman. I still don't know how your heart could choose someone like me, but I'm grateful to be the man that gets to take care of you. I would never dare trade it for anything or anyone. You're.. you're worth so much more than the titles and riches the women inside could ever have. You're my world, and I love you more than you could imagine."
You pull him to another tight hug, hiding your sobbing mess against his chest as he holds you close. You adore him, he was an angel blessed upon you and he saved you from the whirlwind of chaotic insecurities that almost clouded your judgement. His mere presence was enough reassurance that you needed, and it completely swept you off of your feet when he speaks about his thoughts and love for you. He was yours, and you were his — you were sure now. Nothing could ever drift you two apart from each other. "I love you so much, Luka." You say in between sobs, your anxieties finally melting away.
******
Luka is an angel and I love him more than anything, his sweet and loving personality would save me effortlessly when things get too dark (T⌓T)♡
Requests are still open btw! ♡

"Listen here, honey." I grinned down at her as her eyes widen. "Just because you took those bastards down like the badass that you are, it doesn't mean you no longer need help." My face shifted to a stern look, Did she really think I'd let her bleed to her death?
"Sweetheart," She called and I almost wanted to throw her away, Stop it with the magic already, geez.  "I really appreciate your chivalry, but Kyle is the only one that can help me.. and he's too drunk right now. Let me go home so my wounds can be treated as soon as possible" She struggles in my arms, flailing her hands on my chest.
"There are other doctors around! They can help!" I insisted.
"I can't! I have—" She hesitated and I didn't miss the fear that flickered in her eyes. "I—I have—my body is sensitive to many medications and tools, and Kyle is the only doctor who has special treatments for me!" She continues to struggle and she hits me underneath my chin, making me choke on my own breath and putting her down by accident. She stumbles onto her knees as she heaves heavily, beads of sweat formed on her forehead and I could see the pain and struggle in her eyes. She heads to a different direction and my feet hurriedly follows her, holding her shoulder tightly to stop her from moving any further.
"Alright, alright! Even so, where do you think you're going?" My eyebrows furrowed at her dismissal and she shakes my hand off.
"Home, I got aid there." She coughs and her face contorts at every sputter. A low grumble vibrates from my throat as she staggers away. It only took me a couple of strides to reach her arm and pulled her towards me. Picking her up again, my arms wrapped around her shoulders and the back of her knees tightly. Her mask slides askew on her face at our movement and her eyes narrowed at me. She was about to protest, but I beat her to it.
"I'll bring you home, you can barely stand on your own feet." I say firmly to her, her eyes grew wide in shock. "If I let you be, you'd barely have blood in your body anymore when you get there. You'd be able to tend to yourself sooner if you let me carry you." She looks away with a pained look and points towards North-West.
"Just walk back there to the flower market and follow the path behind it, when you get past several shops, you'll see a tall golden lamp post, the pale orange coloured house with a red roof is my place." She heaves as she coughs again and I quickly take note of her directions, taking a small detour to avoid the bustle of the crowd around the market. All the while, she was struggling to breathe underneath her mask and my throat tightens in sympathy.
"You need to take your mask off, lady. You can barely breathe anymore." I say softly as we made a turn, several buildings and houses stood on both sides in a straight line and promptly spotting the golden lamp post at the end of the path from here, a circular path surrounding it. She hesitantly moves her hand, my eyes drops down to take a glance of her face, only to nearly drop her. I stop dead in my tracks and stare at her.
"I guess we just lost a customer, huh?" She smiles weakly as my jaw drops to the ground. The nice lady I met at the confectionery earlier is the delinquent?! And Alice?! My eyes blinked several times as she chuckles dryly. There was sadness forming in her eyes and I shake my head, pulling myself out of my trance and immediately started walking faster. "Sorry to disappoint you." Her voice was almost a whisper and she didn't sound like the same brave woman who had just taken down some of the disciples of the Magic Tower, nor the sweet lady at the confectionery. She sounded so.. broken.
"What are you talking about? I'm not disappointed in you." I reassure her. However, she avoids my gaze, her eyelids barely open and she softly gulps. "I'm more surprised actually, but for now we should really focus on getting your wounds treated." My eyes snap up to quickly look over the houses surrounding the golden lamp post and quickly spotted the one she's described.
"Key..in cloak..my right." She says in between coughs, her hand quickly covers her mouth and she groans in pain. I gently put her feet down, keeping my arm wrapped around her shoulders tightly. She leans her weight towards me, her head lands on my chest as my hands search for the key on her cloak. Once I’ve found it, I chuck it in the keyhole and burst the door open, immediately guiding her to her sofa. She groans as she sits and my hand reached for the lamp by the table beside us.
"The first aid kit is by the bookshelf." She points to the space beneath the staircase and I rush to it, getting the bag and opening it to get the bandages and ointments. It was almost impossible to miss that they were specific kinds of treatments, written prescription and instructions decorated the bottles' labels.
"Lift your dress up," I say while quickly reading over the labels, trying to find the right one to use.
"You need to work on your choice of words, Godspeed." My head snaps up at her remark and spot her flushed cheeks frowning at me.
"What? I don't get.. oh." I feel my own cheeks warm up and gulped down hard. Nice work, idiot.
"Just hand me the bag and I'll attend to my own wounds. I've done this several times already." She reaches out and grabs the bag and bandages from me and holds the ends of her dress. "There are some cupcakes at the cooler that I made yesterday that didn't get sold, go help yourself with some." She says softly and politely took it as a hint to look away.
I made my way to the cooler as she tends to her wounds. My hand grabs a cupcake, not feeling like eating it all up with what had happened earlier  — seeing her hurt somehow made me feel like I was hurting as well.
Ahh dammit, I should be mad at her for mocking and insulting my men, arresting her was my main goal and yet, my dumbass self is worried to death about her.
My ears caught wind of her struggle and soft whimpers from behind me. Despite only seeing the back of her head and her arms extending as she wraps the gauze, I can only imagine the immense pain she's in. Not only that, but she also has to focus to make sure that she doesn't mess up and that she needs to take extra care of herself. I don't know what sickness she has and the fact that only Kyle knows means it's that serious.
Another low groan snaps me back to reality as she threw her boots and tights to the side. She leans back on her sofa and I walk towards her, handing her a cupcake. She looked back at me with surprise, before looking down at the treat. "Thanks," She smiles to herself and I help her sit properly. "Sorry for the mess." She gestures over the bloody sheets of her sofa and carpet. It was a gruesome sight to see when you'll be eating a cupcake, nevertheless, I didn't mind.
"It's alright, it can't be helped." Standing up, my eyes spotted a rag by her kitchen sink. I walk to it and rinse the towel, then squeezing it tightly to remove the excess water. "Do you have anything that would help remove the blood easier?"
"There are some—cleaning agents, just—just, ugh, just below the sink—" She coughs harshly against her dress sleeve. "Good God, I really need to visit Kyle soon."
"Let's just hope that he isn't too hungover tomorrow morning." As soon as the cleaning agents were mixed with water in a container, I walked over to her side and started cleaning away the blood.
"Wait, wait! I'll do that!" She holds my hand firmly and attempted to snatch the rag from me, but my grip tightens on the cloth. The coldness of her hands made me look up at her again, that's when I noticed that she looked much paler than earlier.
"No, it's fine. You worry too much." A breathy sigh leaves my lips. "You look like a corpse, how would you be able to do any cleaning in your state?" She takes her hand back and she lowers her gaze. "Go eat the cupcake, you've lost a lot of energy tonight. I'll clean up your stuff." I gave her a reassuring smile and continued to clean her sheets and carpet. After a while, she placed down the cupcake. She had only eaten half of it. My mouth opened to scold her and it immediately closes when I saw her slowly drifting to sleep, exhaustion painted clearly all over her face.
I returned the materials once everything was cleaned up back to where they were stored from and washed my hands. My gaze glanced towards the shelves beside me and noticed a whole glass cabinet filled with pill bottles, there were three rows of the same ones. Just how sick are you?
Returning quietly to the living room, I scanned her resting face and an ache swelled in my chest as my eyes moved down at her bandaged leg. The wound was too big, the bandages had reached all the way just above her knees. It seems like her whole left thigh got cut. I gently laid her down from her sitting position on the sofa, wrapping her body with her cloak.
The air in this room was still and tense, it was almost difficult to breathe. How can this poor, sickly woman, be the same woman who jumped across roofs and dodged my bullets? How can she be the same sweet lady that offered me the greatest lunch I'd ever had?
Alice was intriguing—I had seen so much of her, yet I felt more distant to her.
I stood up, realizing that it's already so late in the night and the bustles of the nearby market had become quiet. "Hey.." She calls out so softly, my chest tightened just imagining how weak she's feeling. ".. too dangerous.. out.. stay.. don't... mind.." She reaches her hand out to me and without a second thought, I held it and knelt back down beside her. "As.. thanks for.. helping..me.." She was trying hard to stay awake, just to make sure her gratitude reaches its way to me. It was difficult to say no.
"Thank you, I will." Her kindness tugged a smile on my face while gently tucking her hand back to her side. She smiles a little as her eyes fluttered shut. "Rest up alright? I'll help you get to Kyle tomorrow morning." Shifting in my position and leaning sideways to the sofa, my arm was propped up beside hers. At this angle, I could watch her rest. She looked much more at ease and relief flooded through me.
DAMMIT!
I soon realized what I'd been feeling and thinking. We just met for God's sake, and I'm already crushing on her! This is wrong! Not only that, she should be arrested! Why am I protecting her? Why am I saving her? Why am I being an idiot?
My mind and soul were at war with each other right then and there and I turned to move my gaze away. My face started to grow much hotter and I gritted my teeth. My hands ran through my hair several times before cascading them down to my face. Peeking over from my shoulder, her calm resting face comes into view again. My heart started to beat loudly against my chest and my eyes could no longer move away. Despite having the coldest fingers I've ever touched, despite her skin nearly as pale as snow, despite her weakened body; she was beautiful.
I remember the way how she had managed to take down the disciples just on her own. Her unbelievable strength and her independence were enticing. She is just absolutely.. stunning. She's so different and I'm finding myself getting pulled into her unknown spell the more I learn who she is. She has me wrapped around her finger, and I like it.
Maybe helping her out and being a complete idiot was the better choice.
