I folded my arms and pouted.

“I am not going,” I said through gritted teeth.

She frowned and touched my arms.

“Come on, Luka. It’s only for a few hours. Please?”

She signed inaudibly and went back to the vanity table. She combed her thick hair silently. I pursed my lips and sat down on the bed with a thump, making the soft mattress rock. I watched as she tied her hair into a milkmaid braid. When she was done, she walked over to the dress that was laid on the bed. As she grabbed it, I did the same.

“Don’t go.” I said.

She shook her head and peeled my fingers off the dress.

“He’s my friend, you know.”

I rolled my eyes and I turned to watch her walk over to the bathroom. She suddenly stopped and I called out to her. She turned her head slowly to meet my confused eyes. She smiled shyly and hooked her nightdress off, not taking her eyes off me. My breath hitched and my eyes widened.

“Wha... What are you doing?” I narrowed my eyes.

She shook off the nightdress and bend down, allowing me a full view of her perky butt. My pants were suddenly too tight. She slipped on the dress slowly. The cold-shoulder top was loose, hiding all her curves but it didn’t matter. I knew what was underneath. She pulled on a pair of black thigh high socks and slipped on a pair of oxfords. She smiled at me, ignoring the lust in my eyes.

“Well, i’m going now. I’ll wish Jonah a happy birthday on your behalf.”

I stood up and grabbed her from behind.

“Luka?”

Her eyes widened in delight and she kissed me on the nose. I turned away from her, hiding my crimson blush as I took off my uniform and changed into a clean dress shirt and black jeans. I looked at my watch. It was going to be a long night.

The mansion was every bit as I remembered it. Hateful. I forced a smile as I greeted relatives who mostly ignored me. When my brother saw me, he practically leapt from his spot and ran towards me.

“Luka! You came!” He shouted with unadulterated happiness.

I backed away and felt a hand touch my back. She gave me an encouraging smile and I inhaled deeply. Biting back a frown, I smiled at Jonah awkwardly as he embraced me tightly.

“Welcome home, Luka.”

I muttered a birthday greeting and Jonah’s eyes crinkled into a smile.

“I’m so happy you came! Won’t you consider coming home?”

I shook my head and walked away. I felt her arm loop around mine, soothing my biceps.

“Hey, you did well back there.”

I grunted and walked over to the buffet spread. Oh. He had included a mix of my favourite food along with his. Hmm.

The party was exactly as I expected it to be and when we finally left, I felt a surge of annoyance leaving me. When we entered my room, I was suddenly very aware of my already hard length.

A couple of Notes before the story begins.

There is a prequel to this called Breaking the Cycle. It is not required to read this book. But this Cradle and the relationships are explored. A03// Wattpad

Very non canon. This Cradle does not have an Alice that saves them. It is up to the citizens to save the Cradle they love and hold dear.

Summary: A forgotten rank within the Red Army, one that has been used once in the past 500 years. After being missing for 3 years, Roselina Kingsley is found half dead at the border of the Black Army. She has come back to warn and protect the country she loves, even if they have abandoned and betrayed her.

Chapter 1

“ROSELINA!!” The enraged yell has my blood running cold as I will every fiber of my exhausted body to last a little longer.  I don’t have time to enjoy the fresh air as I try to get as much space between me and my captors as possible. Seeing the dark forest to my right, I decide to try my luck in the forest, at least until nightfall. 

I take one of the crystals in my arms and use it to cast an invisibility cloak, allowing myself to limp away. I try looking around to see where I am, but I don’t recognize everything and I curse the sun. Not only is it insanely bright, but it is masking the stars. 

My body goes flying forward as I trip over a root and I hiss when I land, feeling my body scream. I lose a lot of the little strength I have left and I nervously look around.  I really need the stars. The never changing stars.  

Not seeing any starts though, I spot a fallen log that looks just big enough to fit under.  I manage to crawl over to the log, hauling my body inside and casting  a magic crystal as a barrier. My entire body feels heavy as I lose my strength and my body is thrown into a hot, tiring state of sleep and my brain remembers safe times.

“How do you always know where you are?” I glance up at my brother and he looks down, smiling at me. The  treats had long been consumed and the tea long finished. I hang out with my brother and his friends on top of the school, waiting for my dad to finish a meeting. I snuggle closer to my brother as the wind blows and he wraps his jacket closer around me. 

“You use the stars, some of them never change” I pout at Lance’s answer, not understanding what he means. Peering up at the stars I shake my head. 

“How? They  all look the same” Frustration laces my words and the three teens exchange a glance.Finally the tallest one chuckles and opens his arms. 

“Come here Little One and I’ll show you” He promises and I scoot over to the teen and curl into his lap.  He situates us so we have a view of all the stars and points up. 

“In Cradle there are three constellations that never move through the year” He explains and I look up at the stars, all shining bright. “See these stars right here? They make up the Orion constellation, if you follow the Orion constellation you will always end up in the Central Quarter.”  Sirius patiently shows me the constellation and I make a note of the stars. 

“Is that why it is right above us? Because we are in the Central Quarter?” I ask Lancelot nods at me, his icy eyes softening. 

“That's right, anytime we come to the Central Quarter at night we follow Orion to get here,” My brother confirms and I smile up. I look again at the stars and Lance wraps an arm around me pointing to a different cluster of stars. 

“These stars over here make up the Ursa Major Constellation, if you follow these stars, they will lead you right to Red Territory. That huge star right there sits above Headquarters. If you ever need to run there follow that star” I focus on the stars, locking away the information. I rest my head back against Sirius’s chest and reach out for Lance’ hand. 

“These stars are so cool” I tell them, a wave of exhaustion washing over me and I stifle a yawn. 

“Here princess, you must be cold” Harr finally speaks up from Sirius’s other side, he had been watching our exchange, but he is quick to wrap me up in his gray cloak when I start shivering. 

“Hey Sirius?” I ask, waiting for the teen to look at me with his calming amethyst eyes. “you said there was three constellations, and you told me about two, what's the third” I ask the teen and he leans over and points at another cluster of stars 

    “That is Canis Major, it leads you over to Black Territory” H e shows me the stars and I nod. I stay wrapped up in Harr’s cloak, sitting between Lance and Sirius as they tell me about different stars and constellations. 

“Goodnight Princess” I hear Sirius' soothing voice as my eyes start to feel heavy. When I open them again, I am in my father’s arms. 

“Papa? Where is Lance” I try to wiggle, but my Father holds me tight, keeping me wrapped up in his jacket. 

“Back at the school, my meeting ran late. You guys should have gone inside, the wind is strong tonight” My father scolds me and I frown. 

“But Papa, I was learning about the stars” I look up proudly at him and he just smiles tiredly at me. I pointed ahead at the constellation. “Like that is Ursa Major, Lance told me it always leads to Red Territory and that big star will always bring us home” I am proud to show off my knowledge and my father smiles. A Kiss is pressed against my forehead and I lean into him, feeling proud. 

“Smart girl, knowing your way at night is one of the most important skills you can have. “Knowing which stars are never changing in the sky can really save your life.” My father praises and I feel my eyes grow tired. 

“Rest now princess, I’ll do the navigating tonight.”
