A/n :- thanks for the request, as I'm not quite aware of latina culture but by knowing a bit from you I've tried to depict it. Sorry if it's not accurate or stereotypical. Hope you like it.

Y/n is a Latin woman who met Steven when she went to visit the British museum for vacation where he worked. She's an archaeology student so the guy who was showing and explaining about the Egyptian artefacts caught her eye. They both shared a similar interest and that is Egypt.

"¿Te gusta Egipto también?" Said she a little loudly which almost startled Steven.

"Wow um, I don't understand Spanish miss y/n"

"I meant, you like Egypt too?" Explained she in her broken English.

"Oh yeah of course, it is actually nice to see someone who shares the same interest"

His fast British accent was hard for a tourist to understand but as an well educated person she managed to get it. Y/n met him almost everyday for one week as she found a friend in this tour of her. She was there for two weeks so on her final week. She went to meet him outside the museum." "So you're studying archeology? Wow I love that"

"Why didn't you study it then?"

"I don't know, it's different with me, I can't sleep and sometimes I find myself in places I've never been to, I hope didn't freak you out"

"Que?" Y/n said almost deafening Steven.

"What?" Asked he

"Sí what?" Replied she

Steven couldn't but laugh lightly at her spontaneous reactions.

"So it's quite late, I'm sure you need to get back to your hotel now"

"Yes está bien"

"So see you tomorrow?"

"Ah Steven, I'm going back to my country tomorrow "

This was something Steven didn't expected, he forgot she's a tourist after all, he finally found a friend who is similar to her, his love deprived nature might have made him fall for her as well.

"What? Tomorrow?"

"Sí mañana"

"Can I come to see you off?"

"por supuesto I mean sure"

"Okay then good night "

"Buenos noches Steven"

Next day at airport as she was about to enter she saw Steven standing with a gift box

Hi! Since requests are open can you do fred weasley x reader who's in Slytherin? She's really shy and is often seen near Fred but when she can't find him she'll often ask others if they've seen him

She also has her own group of friends (3 or 5 people) where they're normally at Hogwarts and not home during holidays, but they often spend their time at hogsmeade and diagon alley

A/n:- this request was really interesting! Hope you enjoy this !

As Hogwarts started again after holidays and new class came in, y/n also got admitted to Hogwarts with the new ones. She's a little quiet but her eyes sparkled with passion. Maybe her ambitious nature and passion helped her to be sorted in Slytherin. When they all were seated for the dinner her eyes fell on a pair of twins of gryffindor. To be more specific on one particular of them. He was 3years older so she could see they both were kinda prankster and she liked that about them. When she asked the boy beside her about them they said "oh they're the famous Weasley twins I've heard"

"Famous?"

"Yes Weasley family is famous for having as much kids that they can't afford" and started laughing.

"What are their names?"

A girl infront of her said "fred and George, now don't ask me which one is which one"

She found them really interesting. Y/n loved her house too much to be ever wanting to change it but wished if he could be in Slytherin.

The boy and the girl she talked the first day became her friends. And she found out what her favourite person's name is. When they went to them to give leaflets of an event of Hogwarts, coincidentally fred went to her and said "hey I'm fred, give this to your class and make sure they attends"

She had no idea what to do or say when their fingers brushed while taking the leaflet. She forgot to blink and could only say "hm" and look down. She could hear fred saying under his breath " attitude, typical Slytherin" but who would tell him y/n was having crush on him.

This way her years went on Hogwarts. They used to stay at Hogwarts for holidays because she liked staying there more than returning to her house also her guy friend's parents lived far so they wanted to accompany him, her parents used to come to Hogwarts to give her gifts, as being great wizards they never talked to the Weasley family the year they also stayed at Hogwarts to company Harry. Her both friend's knew she was crushing over a Weasley so they said "Mr and Mrs y/l/n won't like it"

"It's nothing of that sort"

"So you don't have a crush on him"

"Well, now it's been three years I've been friends with you both so there's no use of lying, yes I have a huge crush over him".

"We knew, whenever you were shy around him, whenever you asked where's he when he was absent and whenever you could recognise which one is him" said he laughing."

"But they'll be graduating next year why don't you ask him out?" Said the girl.

"You just said my parents won't like this"

"They might, he's a pure blood"

So she went to him and finally said "fred"

He turned and said "yes"

That's all , she was stunned again but managed to say "hey, how are you"

"Aa! Fine, until someone comes to attack Harry again"

"Yeah right"

"You want something"

"No, I was wondering that - that, how are you feeling now that you'll be graduating next year"

"Hopefully I do" said he laughing "but it feels good I guess"

"Are you gonna miss some people from here?"

After finishing your work at office you were heading over to your house. You thought before going to your house you should visit your junkie detective friend to check on him. His cases interests you alot. You love visiting the baker street boys and they also likes having you cause you're smart and funny in a way as well and always hyped with energy. As you knocked the door John opened it and obviously the room was a mess cause they were solving a case of stolen jewel.

"so, too swamped up aren't you two?" You said

"yes, cause lestrad is coming in any minute here I'd have to give him some explanation " said Sherlock

"wait so the great detective doesn't have a theory?" You asked

"seven actually but I have to come up with one" he replied

"guess it's time to show my intelligence" saying this you jumped on the couch of John and sat cause he was standing and took the files. Three of you were absolutely into solving it.

One theory you say he pointed out some flaw and one he says you point out some. Ultimately there were two theories left one of them has to be the correct key to the door. To know that you three need some more time to investigate, maybe you guys have to visit the place of stolen jewel as well.

Suddenly John said by looking at the window "oops it's not lestrad alone today"

"shit is it Delia?" You asked

"it's Donovan but how did you know?" Asked john

"because lestrade only comes with two of his best companions...."

"best?" Sherlock interrupted

"yes cause they're all stupid and he somehow only likes to hangout with these stupid people. Best for him, Anyway so if it was Anderson John would've laughed cause Sherlock puts him in his place in a second but Donovan! She's a real headache"

You're friend seemed a little proud of your deduction but didn't wanted to show it so he went to open the door.

"ah! Lestrade we're still on it " Sherlock said

"that means you haven't solved it yet" retorted Donovan and pushed inside.

"in a way yes" said Sherlock "but..."

"but he didn't say he won't solve it" you said interrupting him,

You were lying on John's couch at that moment and your legs were kept upwards while you're holding the case file infront of you.

"so now the detective needs help" said she

"yes Daisy cause I'm intelligent" said you

"it's Donovan!" Replied she

You looked at Sherlock and whispered "was she Donovan all the time ?"

"yes both lestrade and Sherlock mouthed

I went to Italy for office work for 2 weeks and I informed him that my trip was done and I'm coming home, Sherlock was overjoyed with it but didn't wanted to show it also because he was swamped up with work. I thought maybe he's truly busy so I went inside.

Sherlock looked and now he smiled his cheeks are blushing cause now he can cuddle with me.

So he went to the room and hugged me from behind which made me giggle "oh honey! Hey look what I got for you!"

"What?"

"Uh! If you don't let me get my bag how will I"

"I don't wanna let you go, fine I'll hold your hand then"

"Okay" I was confused cause holding hands in room while getting the bag? Seemed weird.

"What's wrong with you though"

"Nothing, when you came you wanted attention now I'm giving you attention "

"Oh ! Well I don't mind though, here" saying this I handed him a pair of Gucci sunglasses.

"Wow thanks, but you didn't have to get me something this expensive though"

"No you should wear the best pair of sunglasses, after all those ocean eyes must be protected."

He was now fully swept off by his feet and leaned to kiss me, held me close and sat down cuddling.

"Would you mind if we do this whole day?"

"And your work?"

"That can wait"

"Then okay, i missed these ocean eyes as well, all I could think about is you"

And we cuddled through the day.

Loki never thought he'd fall for y/n. She's absolutely unlike him, she's shy and innocent, easy to get bothered. Now that's something loki loved. He loves to tease and to ones who gets bothered easily, are his favourite. Y/n would sometimes get really mad that she would hit loki with anything near her, like a fat book she's reading. He wouldn't mind though and that kinda made it easier for her to remain with him. Rather tolerate him. She wouldn't say no to anything as well. So the god of mischief made a terrible prank on her. He usually bothers her with loud laughing talking and everything but the other day he did nothing alike him. Y/n was nervous what's wrong with him so she asked, "are you okay loki?"

"Yeah I guess"

Didn't quite sound okay but she was too coy to ask.

"Do you want my help with anything?"

"You can't do anything about it"

"Oh" she really wanted to know the matter, but didn't ask anything so loki said,

"I'm actually in love with someone"

She fell off guard. Love someone? So what is she to him?

"What ?"

"Yes, I wanna propose her"

"Who's she though?"

"She's so pretty you can't even imagine, she's marvellous and...." Loki stopped the moment he saw her upset and trying hard not to show.

"Do you wanna see her?"

"I guess"

He took a mirror and showed her reflection

She realised and smiled at it.

"Can you ever not play pranks on me?"

"No, I always wanna bother you, only you, so wanna marry me ?"

"Yes, I think I can tolerate it" said she smiling. He put a ring on her finger and leaned to kiss her. He can't imagine himself without her now.

Last Movie: We just watched Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning not that long ago (SO GOOD), and we’re going to be watching the new Oppenheimer movie tonight. Yes, I’m Team Oppenheimer, not that sickeningly pink Barbie rubbish. Give me action and stakes and Christopher Nolan and Cillian Murphy’s incredible acting and Hans Zimmer’s music ANY BLAZIN’ DAY.

Currently Reading: Just finished The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas (boy, was that fun), and now I’m back to my three-books-at-once routine. I’m reading Dìlseachd: A Stolen Crown by Cheyenne van Langevelde, Playing With Fire by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and—you guessed it—I’m re-reading The Return of Sherlock Holmes (also by Sir ACD) because IT’S JUST SO BLAZING GOOD OKAY?!

And I NEVER re-read. So...uh...that’s something.

Currently Writing: I’m currently working on two different WIPs, one of which is a space opera (sci-fi/fantasy like Star Wars combined with LOTR, LOL), and the other is a Victorian mystery à la Sherlock Holmes or the Poirot mysteries. It features an eccentric Scottish detective I may have talked about once or twice on these Tumbl(e)rish parts.

ok time for 2 days worth of journaling

yesterday I discovered that if I take half of a mini bagel (because the store was out of bagel things), put on cream cheese and a slice of salami, you can make a pretty good bagel bite. I talked with my dad for a while about college things when he came home from work and brought groceries. I also made a frozen chicken Laredo pasta thing for dinner and ended up sharing it with my mom. dad and I shared ideas for what to add to it next time to make it better. I started with chopping up spinach, because I know it shrinks a bunch and is easy to hide in stuff. I want to try adding a little salt, maybe some garlic and onion, parmesan cheese, more greens, a bunch of stuff. idk. I like pretending to be a chef. but I talked with my ad about what kind of stuff I'll need for college, and how I'll probably need to buy real clothes and makeup so I dont look like a goblin who’s been existing solely in basketball shorts and pajama pants for the past year in quarantine.that;s why I made that post last night about fun girly sleepover or simple-ass makeup tutorial. I tried washing my face with an Olay soap bar, and it left my skin feeling nice but idk how good/bad it actually is for your face since its meant to be a body bar. I slept like shit last night, waking up at like 4 am and all mr dreams being shades of muted grey and brown and broken up into blocks, idk. I've been having weird abstract dreams and sleeping like shit for the past couple days. I think that's partially what cause my head to spin all afternoon. whenever I moved my head, it felt like my ghost was lagging behind my body if that makes sense. it sucked but got better when I moved around. I had my dad bring me water and Tylenol and then come back a second time to light my candle because he smelled like cigarettes and left the smell in my room. but I realized it was April fools day when I woke up, and contemplated how I was gonna prank my friends. I didnt come up with anything until my sister sent a picture of a crashed white Volvo, saying she failed her driving test. when my mom showed me I didnt believe her for a second, and folded over laughing when my mom was concerned about if it was real or not. I stole that joke and showed it to my 2 friend groups, with panicked misspelled texts to go with it for *authenticity* lmao. both groups fell for it at first, but band friends taking longer to catch on so I had to tell them it was a prank. my gamer friend in the other chat caught me almost IMMEDIATLY with reverse google image searching. but I laughed my ass off for a while either way. I didnt play any stardew today but I did play a little Webkinz. when my sister came back from her driving test, my dad brought home Dairy Queen blizzards and mentioned getting a nice-is dinner takeout :) unfortunately I waited forever for him to bring home food and it never happened. so my sister and I went through the mcdonalds drive through and got served by this absolutely DELIGHTFUL middle aged man who was very nice and funny and I told him she just got her license today. we went home and ate in my sisters room and watched John mulaney’s new in town. I had never actually watched the full special, but through Tumblr memes and a million animatics, I had pretty much seen everything. I had fun tho. we got regular chicken sandwiches when we porobably should have gotten the deluxe ones with lettuce and tomato and source or just gone to Wendy’s. tbh Wendy’s is SO MUCH FUCNKIN BETTER. and the mcdonalds was more expensive than I thought it would be. whatever. if we had gone to Wendy’s, sure we would have gotten better burgers, but we wouldn't have seen that deightful man. anyway earlier today I gave my cat some catnip and she was really cute about it. do cats drool more when they’re high? cuz damn it sure felt like it when she was mashing her face into my hand. for lunch I made a different pasta thing, this time shrimp lomeign. I added spinach and broccoli, which I'm going to do for now and forever because it SLAPPED but my mom was acting like a child, saying broccoli is gross. she had me make spaghetti and proceeded to eat 3 or 4 bowls. I had a couple and went to my room. I realize that I'm typing all this shit WAYYYYY out of order, sorry to me reading back in the future or anyone who bothers to read these. tbh why would you. I hope people dont have my talk tag blocked (thanks for coming to my ted talk) and instead have 2021 daily blocked if they dont want to see these. I still make funny posts sometimes!! that’s also what I tag my art with!! but neither of those people would be able to read this anyway so I'm just preaching to the choir. anyway you’ll be happy to know that my head is no longer spinning, my teeth are nice and clean, I've got my comfy socks and pajama pants on, and I’m ready for bed. eventually. it’s not even midnight yet lmao. I guess I can mention this morning when my cat yelled at me asking to go outside, but it was literally FREEZING and im 100% sure I saw some snowflakes while I was out there for a couple minutes. she got so cold she climbed up on my lap as I was wrapped in my childhood sleeping bag I found in the laundry room. I breathed warm air on her and sat out there for another minute or so, mostly insulated by the sleeping bag, but carried her inside eventually. I didnt want to have to deal with that shit. tbh even tho I just had mcdonalds and it’s almost midnight and I've already brushed my teeth, I'm still a little bit hungry. but I dont know it’s that’s just because I'm lying down and your body takes a little while to tell you when you’re full, or if it’s because I waited for SO LONG waiting for city barbecue or bento cafe that just a burger and fries wasn't enough to cut it. well I'll just sleep it off anyway. you know what’s really cute? my cat laid on my lap and rested her chin on my hand as I typed :) I love her

Love vs. Hate - Part 10 // Joe Liebgott x OC

Summary: Technical Sergeant Olivia Stark knows the military. Raised in a military family, a graduate of military school and OCS herself, she is transferring from the 82nd Airborne Division to the 101st. Between new friends and what appear to be foes, she becomes a part of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th PIR.

June 6, 1944 - St. Marie-du-Mont, France

Behind Buck, Bill and Don, I push my way through the bushes. We sneak behind one of the trenches the Germans have dug and stay down. The other men are already shelling them. Suddenly Buck gestures for us to wait. He crawls forward a little and surveys the situation. Then he comes back and looks at us. He tells us with hand signals that we should throw grenades at the soldiers. So we take them out, and on Buck's call, we throw them into the ditch.

After they explode, we run over, and I see Buck running into the ditch and a wounded German lying in front of him, reaching for his gun. However, something seems to be wrong with Buck's gun. "Don!" I shout, and he notices it, too, and shoots the German, who is instantly dead. Then we hear Winters from behind and continue to make our way through the trench. We shoot at the Krauts running away, and then I hear Popeye yell out. "What the hell?" I grumble and look over for a moment. Next to me is Bill, who is watching one of the new guys from us try to shoot down a German but fails. "Jesus Christ," Bill curses and fires his assault rifle at him, causing the German to drop dead. Then he walks past the soldier. "Fucking jeep jockey," he grumbles, and I look at him, annoyed. "Cut it out, Bill!"

I also walk past the soldier, who looks at me gratefully, and I nod. I crawl over to Popeye, who is moaning in pain. "Fuck, Pop, what happened?" I ask, looking over at Toye, who is already examining him. "I'm so sorry. I fucked up," Popeye whines, and I lean over to get a better look. "Grenade!" shouts Winters then, looking at us. "Joe, Joe, roll on, roll on!" Toye throws herself forward at the last second and lands on top of me, so I'm pressed into Popeye's back, who yelps again. As Toye rises off me again, I look at him. "Something happen?" I ask quickly, and he examines himself but then shakes his head. "You are one lucky bastard, Joe," Bill now says, looking over at his friend.

"Guarnere, Malarkey, Lorraine, secure that gun!" shouts Winters then. "Compton, Stark! Covering fire." "Yes, sir!" I'm still kneeling next to Popeye, trying to locate the wound. "Where are you hit, Pop?" I hear Buck behind me. "I can't believe I fucked up. My ass, sir." "Your ass?" I then ask, and he nods. "Oh, shit." Now Winters comes back and looks at us. "Popeye, how bad is it?" "Sorry, sir, I didn't mean to fuck up. I don't think it's too bad," Popeye says, and I can't help a little grin. "Can you make it back yourself?" "I think so, sir." "Let's move out. Right, here we go." I take the helmet and push it back onto Popeye's head. "Let me get in there for a second, Liv," Buck says, and I make room for him. "Drop your weapon, Pop, drop your weapon," Buck says. "Come on! One, two, three!" They help Popeye across the ditch, and then we turn back to the Germans. Next to me, Buck drops his grenade and almost hits Toye again with it.

"Jesus Christ, fucking twice!" he curses, and I hold out my hand to him. "Come on," I say and pull him to his feet. Then I follow Buck and Winters along the ditches. "There's the second gun. Grenades first. Then keep going, go!" Winters orders, and with him, Buck and Toye, we keep running through the trench. We stop for a moment, and Winters looks at me. I nod and take out the grenade. Then we move on, and I pull the ring before throwing it into the Germans' weapons trench, where it explodes. Buck, Toye, and Winters follow me and shoot at the remaining Krauts. One of them wants to surrender and raises his hands. "Nicht schiessen!" he shouts in German. "Nicht schiessen. Ich habe keine Waffe mehr!" "Shut the fuck up!" shouts Toye, and they engage in a shouting duel until Toye loses it and hits him in the face with his brass knuckles, knocking him unconscious to the ground.

We secure the weapons and let them go off as D Company shows up and takes over another one of the weapons as well. "As soon as this one goes up, you guys pull back, yeah?" says Winters, and we nod. When it does, we pull back, and I go back to HQ with Buck.

Suddenly I feel an arm around my shoulder. "Well, how about it? Feel like something to eat?" asks Don, and I grin at him. "Always do," I laugh, and we continue walking. "Did I just hear food?" we then hear Buck behind us, standing there with Bill and Joe Toye. "Come on, gather everything we can find, and then we'll cook something good," Don grins, and we nod.

No sooner said than done. As it dims, we meet again in one of the trucks. "How exactly are we going to cook this?" asks Joe Toye. I grin and lift an old ammunition box. "That should work," Don smiles, and we climb into the truck. With us are Toye, Buck, Lip, Bill, and to my great surprise, Liebgott. "So let's see... What do you have?" Don asks, and we show off our accomplishments. "Should work," he grins at me as he sees what all we have. "I have another little surprise," I then smile and pull a bottle of whiskey out of my pocket, which earns me quiet cheers from the guys. I open the bottle and toast them. "Cheers," I grin and take a sip, passing it to Toye.

Suddenly, an unpleasant smell hits my nose. "Oh shit," I curse and hold a hand in front of my nose. "I'm sorry, but did one of you get hit and is dying inside?" I look into the eyes of the men who now smell it as well, and then my gaze lingers on Don. "Oh, come on! Don! For real now?" I laugh. "Couldn't you have held it, Malark?" Toye asks, but Don is not deterred. "If I could, Joe, I still wouldn't have done it. I'll be glad to let you in on it." "I really could have done without that," I laugh, and some guys join in.

Liebgott is surprisingly quiet the whole time. He just sits there smoking his cigarette. Occasionally I catch myself watching him, but then I quickly avert my eyes again. Why am I doing this at all? He's an ass. "Did anyone else find us?" I ask a while later. "How should we know?" asks Liebgott, and Bill rolls his eyes. "Come on, not again, okay? We've had enough fighting for one day," he says in my direction and Liebgott's. "Tell him that," I return, and Liebgott glares at me before snorting. "You're one to talk, Stark!" "Guys, this doesn't have to be now," Lip now interjects. "Whatever," Liebgott grumbles and slowly stands up. "I can't stand it in here anymore anyway." He opens the hatch and jumps off the truck. "Jesus, let me out of here."

"Light, light discipline," Buck then says, looking to Bill, who is now moving up. "Guarnere, close that flap." "Let the Krauts cook their own goddamn food," Don then says, stirring the pot again before tasting it. "How are we doing, Malark?" asks Lip. "We're doing good." "Doing good?" "What the hell do you know about cooking? You're Irish," Buck says, and I have to grin. "I've never had an Irish meal. What did you hold out on me, Don?" "Sir, if you have a reservation someplace else... You can take her with you, by all means," Don returns, and Buck grins. "Just start dishing it." "Thank you," I say as he puts some on my plate. "Don again?!" I ask as a new wave of stink comes from him. "Shit. Jesus Christ, give me some air," Bill curses and opens the flap again before closing it.

A little later, Winters comes out from behind the flap. "Evening." "Hello, sir," we reply, and Winters then backs away a bit, having probably smelled the odor as well. "Did something die in here?" he asks, and I have to grin. "Yeah, Malarkey's ass," Joe Toye replies. "Any word on Lieutenant Meehan, sir?" Buck asks, and we all perk up. "No, not yet." I exchange a look with Don. No one on the plane with Lt. Meehan has shown up yet, which probably confirms what we're all already thinking. "Don't that make you our commanding officer, sir?" asks Bill. "Yeah, it does." I take the bottle of Whiskey and nudge Joe to pass it to Winters. "Sir?" "Joe, the lieutenant, don't drink," Bill replies promptly. Winters, however, surprises us, takes the bottle, and takes a swig before coughing, making us all grin. "It's been a day of firsts. Don't you think, Guarnere?" he then asks, passing the bottle to Bill. "Yes, sir." "Carry on," he says still and is about to leave when he pauses again. "Oh, Sergeant?" "Sir?" asks Bill, "I'm not a Quaker." With those words, he disappears, and we all laugh. "If he's from Lancaster County, he's probably a Mennonite." "What's a Mennonite?" asks Joe dumbly, and I smack him on the head.

"Did it ever occur to you that maybe he just doesn't want to drink?" I then ask Bill with amusement, and he shrugs. "I just thought it might be... I mean, he stopped me when I was shooting at the Germans too." "Yeah, but you almost massacred them," Don now interjects. "So what? He didn't do anything." "What should he have done? He didn't have a weapon... Should he have thrown his boots at them?" "Oh shut up, Malarkey!" "You guys are looking at this way too tightly, however. I'd rather have Winters than Sobel a thousand times over." "Ohh, Liv, does anyone here have their eye on our new CO?" asks Toye, twitching his eyebrow. "No, Liv has her eye on someone else entirely," Don interjects, and I look at him questioningly. "What? And what is it exactly that you know, and I obviously don't?" "Oh, my dear... You know exactly what I'm talking about," he grins. "Anyway... Phu Don, okay, that's enough. I'll see you guys later," I say and get up to fight my way out of the truck. "Come on, Liv, stay," Buck says, but I jump off the truck. "Sorry, Buck, but I'd like to be alive tomorrow," I grin and walk away.

For a moment, I wander around without a destination, looking for a place to spend the night. The logical explanation would typically be that I do this together with Don or Muck or George, but next to Don, I definitely can't stand it the whole night, and I have no idea where Muck or George are. So I'm just on my own.

"Hey darling, are you lost?" I suddenly hear a voice and turn around. A soldier is standing in front of me. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the Easy Company slut." I look at the face I already know. It's the soldier who hit on me in the bar more than a year ago and got punched in the face by Liebgott. "So we meet again, bitch," he continues, taking a step toward me. "Seems like it. And it also seems you still don't know the insignia. It's Sergeant Bitch to you," I say, looking down at my arm. He grins and looks at his own, where I can see the sergeant's insignia. "You bet I do." He takes a few more steps toward me and then stops right in front of me. "Well, I guess you don't have such a big mouth now, do you? Where's your oh-so-good company now?" he asks quietly and menacingly. "I don't need them to fight back... I can do that just fine on my own."

The sergeant grabs my arm and squeezes, but I push him off me. He doesn't let go of me, though, and pulls me closer so I can smell his alcohol-scented breath. "Let me go," I hiss threateningly, but he laughs. "I'll let you go when I'm done with you," he returns, but I push him again and give him a hard slap. He holds his cheek, puzzled. "You little whore," he then says and strikes me in the face with the back of his hand as well, and I fall on the floor but stand up quickly again. For a moment, he grins at me with an ugly grin. "What's going on here?" we then hear a certain voice and turn around. In front of us is Lt. Speirs. "I don't know, sir; she just hit me for no reason. I just wanted to ask her if I could help her," Stretton says quickly, but Speirs looks past him to me. "I wasn't talking to you, Sergeant; I was talking to Sergeant Stark." He walks up to me and scrutinizes my face. Then he turns back to Stretton. "Will you give me just a little explanation of why it's okay to hit a woman, Sergeant? And then your superior, too." Stretton's eyes grow big, and he looks at me again. I grab my cheek briefly and see blood on my fingertips. "I uh... I," he stammers, and Speirs' eyes flash. "I'll expect you at HQ in five minutes. Do you understand me, Sergeant?" He spits the word 'sergeant' at his feet. "Yes, sir."

As Stretton departed, Speirs turns back to me. I, meanwhile, wipe the blood from my cheek. "Is everything all right?" "Yes, sir, thank you." "You shouldn't be wandering alone in the dark, Sergeant. Not all soldiers always have good intentions, especially when alcohol has been flowing." "I'm aware of that, sir. I'm actually looking for my boys." "Liv? Is that you?" we hear a voice, and I turn. "George?" I ask back, and then I see the familiar grin of George Luz. He walks up to me and takes me in his arms. "Oh, it's so good that you made it," he says and lets go of me again. "You say that? I've been here since this morning," I laugh, and then George notices Lt. Speirs. "Sir," he says quickly, and he nods. "Good evening," he says and disappears. "What's your deal with Speirs?" he asks, looking at me. "Oh, he was just helping me with something," I say as George pulls me along.

He takes me to a group of Easy men leaning against a wall. Among them are some new faces, which I greet, and some I've seen before, like Liebgott. He leans against the wall and looks up at me briefly as we approach. "What happened to your cheek?" George asks, sitting down a little further next to Liebgott and giving me a little space so I can sit down too. "What?" I ask, confused, and he grabs my cheek. "This," he says, showing me the blood stain on his finger. "Oh, that. It's nothing," I say quickly and wave it off. I wipe my cheek again and then grin at George. "What?" he asks. "I actually got this one for Don and the others, but Don is gassing everyone back in the truck, which is why..." I grin and pull out a second bottle of whiskey. "Wow, Liv. I think I love you," George says, and I slap his shoulder, laughing.

I quickly open the bottle, and I hold it out to George. He takes it and takes a big gulp. "Jesus Christ, I didn't think I missed it that much," he says, and I chuckle. He hands me back the bottle, and I take a sip. Then I pass it to Liebgott, who looks at me in surprise. "Really?" he asks, and I nod at him with a smile. "Maybe there is something good about you, after all, Stark," he then says and accepts the bottle.

George, Liebgott, and I drink the whiskey silently for a while. At some point, I take myself out, cross my arms, and rest my head against the wall with my eyes closed. The conversations around me also fall silent more and more and become quieter. "Hey, Liv, will you move over a bit?" I hear George at some point, and half asleep, I think nothing of it and slide over a bit to Liebgott.

June 7, 1944 - St. Marie-du-Mont, France The following day I am awakened by laughter. Slowly I open my eyes and quickly realize that I am leaning against a shoulder, and at that exact moment, I realize who must be sitting next to me. I quickly startle. Next to me, I hear Liebgott grumbling, and we both look at each other. He has probably just become aware that he had also laid his head on mine and that we slept leaning against each other. I quickly slide away from him a little. "Oh, that looked cute," I already hear the teasing voice of Don, who grins at me and then reaches out his hand to pull me to my feet. "Shut up, Don!" I hiss, averting my eyes in shame. "What? I mean it. The way you and Joe slept there snuggled up together," he continues, and I punch him in the shoulder. "Can we just drop it," I ask, annoyed. "Drop what?" interjects George. "That you and Joe were cuddling tonight? I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself." "Oh, come on, guys," I groan, rummaging in my backpack for my toothbrush. "You guys can go fuck yourselves. I'm going to go freshen up." "Why always so mean, Liv?" calls Don after me, laughing.

I walk past the HQ and make my way to the sinks that have been set up temporarily. I brush my teeth briefly and wash my face. Did I cuddle with Liebgott? Jesus Christ. No way.

When I finish and return to the boys, Don looks at me with concern. He immediately takes my face in his hands and examines my little scratch from yesterday. "What the fuck are you doing?" I ask him. "What happened here, Liv?" he asks directly, and I pull out of his grip. "Nothing," I say and want to wave off, but Don doesn't stop. "Winters was just here. He wants to talk to you about what happened last night. What the fuck happened last night, Liv? This has something to do with it, and I want to know what it is." I notice more and more of the guys looking at me, Liebgott, George, Bill, and Bull included, which is why I lower my voice. "I'll tell you later, okay?" I say and quickly turn away from him to get to Winters.

When I arrive at HQ, I see Winters discussing with Speirs. "Uh, Lieutenant Winters? You were looking for me, sir?" I clear my throat, and the two gentlemen turn to me. Lt. Nixon is also standing in the room and examines me briefly. "Oh, Liv. Yes, good that you're here. Take a seat," Winters says, and I sit down while Speirs stands next to us with his arms folded. "Did something happen, sir?" I ask Winters, and he briefly examines my face. "I was going to ask you that, Liv." There is silence for a moment. "Lieutenant Speirs reported to me that there was an incident yesterday with a sergeant from C Company. Would you like to elaborate?" I look briefly at the faces of the officers in front of me. "It's not worth mentioning, sir. Really..." I say, and I hear Speirs move next to me.

"Are you sure, Sergeant? It didn't look like it yesterday." "Please, Liv, I need you to tell me exactly what happened. We also need to know how the companies relate to each other." I think for a moment. "The son of a bitch hit you, and you're really not going to say anything?" Speirs asks, and I look up at him. "Well, for the record, I hit him first," I say. "And I'm sure there was a reason for that, right Liv? I know you, and I know you don't hit people without reason," Winters continues. "Except maybe Liebgott," Nixon interjects, chuckling. "Very well... Actually, it all started in Toccoa. We were in this bar one weekend, and he hit on me, and I asked him to leave me alone, which he didn't do. Of course, the other men overheard, and Liebgott hit him when he insulted me. I never saw him again after that. He was a private and didn't realize I was a platoon sergeant." I look around for a moment. "Yesterday, I was looking for the others and ran into him. I guess he still resented me for what happened, and he was drunk, and well..." I explain and break off. "And then?" "He got in my way and grabbed me by the arm. I told him to let go of me. In the meantime, I noticed that he had also been promoted to sergeant. Probably he thought that now he could do whatever he wanted. He said he wouldn't let go of me until he was done with me, and I think we don't need to go further into that matter. When he wouldn't let go of me, I hit him in the face. He didn't find that funny, and then he... Well, he stroked me. And then Lieutenant Speirs showed up, sir."

The officers exchange a look. "Okay, thanks, Liv. Do you want to report the incident?" "No, I don't think that's necessary, sir. After all, I wouldn't have brought it up at all." "Very well," Winters says, unhappy with my decision. "I'll talk to the C Company officers. At the very least, this worthless piece of crap should be demoted", Speirs puts in. "Do that... And Liv, I don't want you wandering by yourself anymore, understand? That's an order." "Yes, sir." "Good, carry on," Winters then says. I nod and walk out of HQ.

When I return to the men, they sit comfortably by a fountain, talking to each other. When Don sees me, he stands up and comes toward me. "Well?" he asks, and I look at him. "What?" "You know what, Liv. What happened?" I bite my lips. "I don't want a big thing made about it, Don. So just leave it..." "No, I won't. You're my best friend, Liv. I want to know if something happens to you." I shake my head in annoyance. "So?" I look at Don again. "The shithead from Toccoa, remember? The one who hit on me and which Liebgott punched?" I ask, and Don nods. "When I got out of the truck, I walked around a little to see who else found their way here. Anyway, I ran into him. He's a sergeant, too, now. I guess he didn't forget our argument and grabbed me. I don't know exactly what he finally wanted to do, but he wouldn't let go of me, and that's when I hit him. And then he hit me."

"What? That motherfucker! I'm gonna..." "Stop it! Speirs is looking to have him demoted." "Demoted? That's it?! Liv, this asshole probably would've tried to rape you, and all that happens is that he gets demoted?" "I didn't report him." "What?! Why not?" "Because I don't want a fuss over it." Don snorts angrily. "You can't be fucking serious, can you?" "The hell I am! That's exactly why, Don. Exactly because you're acting like this now! What do you think will happen when the others find out? Bill? George?! Jesus, Toye? You know exactly what they'll do!" "Yes, and that would be the right thing to do!" "No! This is my decision, Don, and I ask you to respect it!" Don grumbles and crosses his arms. I can see him grinding his jaw and how he is so not happy with my decision. "Please, Don." "Fine! I won't say anything." "Thank you," I say a little more softly now and put a hand on his arm. "But just to be clear! I won't let you out of my sight anymore." "No worries. Winters orders anyway."

"Did I miss something? Since when do you two act like an old married couple? I thought that was Liebgott's job?" we suddenly hear a voice behind us. Turning around, we see Muck and Penkala. "Skip!" I shout and jump into his arms. "We already thought you guys didn't make it," Don calls, shaking Muck's hand as I break away from him and greet Penkala. "Not gonna happen, Malark," Muck grins and smiles at us. "Jesus, that was a journey, I can tell you that." He points behind him, where Frank and a few others now appear. "We were completely in the wrong place and had to find our way. We kept running into Krauts. Unbelievable." He looks at Don and me. "And what about you guys?" "We've been here since yesterday morning," Don says. "I ran into Winters, Lipton, Guarnere, and a few others after the jump." Muck nods and then looks at me. "You can guess three times who I ran into first." "Come on. Really? Liebgott?" I nod. "Yep, and then later, we ran into Buck and some Baker Company guys and came here."

We tell Muck and Penkala what else happened and how we took out the guns in Brécourt. "Oh wow, we missed quite a bit there," Penky says, and I smile at him. We sit down with George, Bull, Bill, and Toye. I stretch and then hold my back. "Jesus, my back is killing me already," I grumble, and George starts laughing. "Maybe you should ask Liebgott if you can sleep on him again," he jokes, and I look at him angrily. "What else did we miss? It seems you left out something important?" Muck laughs and looks at me. "Please, not again!" I grumble, and then I see Liebgott coming toward us. "Oh great..." "Why don't you ask Joe? I'm sure he can tell you," George grins and looks up at Liebgott. "What about me?" "Joe and Liv were cuddling last night," George grins. "Shut up, Luz!" say Liebgott and I simultaneously. "I'm just telling it like it was."

We chat for a while, the others occasionally teasing me and Liebgott, which he takes even less well than I do. At some point, I stop listening.

I was tagged by @pastellarts to share something of what I’ve been writing lately. Normally I ignore such things, but I can’t resist a good excuse to talk about my writing :) This is the most recently completed scene from the next story in my Irony series. I’m sorry to say this is in chapter 4. I had hoped to be further along by now. Actually, I had hoped to have this story done and be onto the next one by now. This story is being particularly stubborn, heh. Oh, FYI for those who have forgotten (it’s been that long since the last story, I wouldn’t blame you), or haven’t been reading this series: Rogue only has one arm (her left one). Also, Rogue’s Halloween costume in the scene below is a coffee mug.

Rogue pushed the foam portion of her new costume into the back of the car and shut the door. She got into the front passenger seat and looked at Pyro, while dressed in the patterned skirt and cream coloured asymmetrical shirt Kurt had made for her.

“Thanks for driving me,” she said.

“No problem,” Pyro replied as he started the car. “I’ve been interested in seeing the new studio anyway.”

Silence came as they headed off to the studio. Thing has been weird between them lately. He had stopped calling her things like “race traitor” for well over a year now and the general antagonism had lessened. Still a wall remained between them, something Rogue couldn’t quite identify that was preventing them from becoming friends again.

“Why have you never wanted to get involved with the show?” Rogue asked after a time.

“Prancing around on a camera isn’t really my thing.”

“It’s not a lot of people’s thing. We always need writers though.”

“I’m sure, but I’m still not interested. I’ve got enough on my plate as it is.”

Rogue eyed him thoughtfully. “Like what? I mean, I know you have college and you train with the team but—”

“I have a bunch of writing projects I’m working on,” Pyro replied. “Be happy to tell you all about them once they’re published.”

“Ah, super secret writing projects. Gotcha.”

Not long later they arrived at the studio, and something of a commotion. In amongst the crew and the rest of the Cure Watch staff was Forge and a gorgeous woman with fabulous flowing blonde hair. Rogue frowned, seeing her. She figured it was Forge’s girlfriend, but she looked vaguely familiar.

“Is that… Ronnie Lake?” Pyro asked.

“Ronnie Lake,” Rogue repeated as they moved closer, the rest of her costume under her arm. “Isn’t she a supermodel or something?”

“Yep.”

They looked at each other, and continued their way forward to where Forge and his girlfriend were chatting with everyone. Forge soon spotted Rogue and waved at her.

“Hey Rogue, glad you’re here,” Forge said. “How’s it going?”

Rogue shrugged. “Eh, you know, the usual. You?”

“Yeah, I’m good. I’d like you to meet Ronnie,” Forge said with a gesture towards his girlfriend. “Ronnie, this is Rogue and…” he frowned towards Pyro. “Pyro?”

“Yeah, that’s me,” Pyro replied, his eyes on Ronnie. “Pleasure to meet you. I’ve been a big fan of your work.”

“Well, thank you,” Ronnie said graciously. “Always nice to meet a fan.”

A goofy smile appeared on Pyro’s face. “And it’s real nice to see you. Wow, I can’t believe this. I remember when you had black hair. Blonde really works for you. Not that black doesn’t. You could rock anything. I’m sorry, I’m making a fool of myself, huh?” He cleared his throat. “Sorry about that.” The goofy smile faded, his eyes still locked with hers. “I’m real sorry.”

“Not to worry, I get this a lot,” Ronnie said soothingly. “You, at least, know when to apologise, which is more than I can say about, well, most people actually.” She turned to Rogue and smiled warmly at her. “And Rogue, I’m very happy to finally get to meet you. Forge has told me all about you, and of course, I’ve been watching your show.”

“Oh, really?” Rogue asked, surprised that someone like Ronnie Lake would bother with their channel. “Wow. Oh, um, it’s a pleasure to meet you too. I’m glad you could join us today.”

“I’m glad to be here. It’s not all pleasure, though. I’ve signed on to be a spokesmodel for Forge Industries.” Ronnie turned her smile on Forge, then looked back at Rogue, “so I’m going to be doing some promotional videos for you to put on your channel for DM Electronics.”

“Oh wow. That, that would be amazing.”

“Ahem. I’d hate to cut this short,” Morph said, his voice calling loudly over the crowd, “but we need to start.”

A whirlwind of activity followed. With Pryo’s help, Rogue got back into her coffee mug costume and joined Monte, Zeek, and Butterfly on the set. They were dressed up as a fireman, McCree from Overwatch , and Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. As they review the brief for the episode, the crew finished off what they needed to do. Pyro sat with Forge and Ronnie off to the side where they could watch and not be in the way.

It wasn’t too much longer before they started filming. Rogue, Monte, Zeek, and Butterfly took their places on the lounges. On cue they welcomed everyone to their Halloween edition of Cure Watch. They showed off their costumes and went though the usual opening pleasantries, then finally got to the meat of the episode:

“The latest from Worthington Industries is that symptoms have been now reported in 56% of mutants from the trial,” Rogue said, her eyes on the camera. “But the really big news is that one mutant from the public distribution of the Cure has reported symptoms.”

“Just one that we know about,” Zeek said. “Obviously, these are early days yet, so that one mutant might legitimately be the only one so far. But not everyone who took the Cure last year has registered. There’s no obligation to do so, but if you do, the data we report will be more accurate.”

“Wow,” Butterfly said, and took a deep breath before continuing. “The first one. It’s finally started.” She looked around at her co-hosts. “I wonder how long it’ll be before we start showing symptoms.”

Rogue bit back the urge to say ‘hopefully never’.

“Has Worthington established how long it takes for a mutant’s powers to fully return, yet?” Monte asked with a frown, and he glanced towards Rogue.

Rogue shrugged. “I guess that process normally takes awhile, except for the one instance where the mutation came back all at once. After that, the shortest term reported was five months. It’s hard to give a range right now because symptoms appearing is so staggered. We don’t have recent numbers on exactly how many of those involved in the trial have their powers back completely. I guess because there aren’t many.”

In the Stacks with Lara Mimosa Montes: Wild Style

A few years ago, I attended a screening of Charlie Ahearn’s hip-hop film Wild Style (1983) as part of the Walker Art Center’s Downtown New York: 1970s and 1980s Art and Film series. The film, “a hybrid of a narrative musical and documentary,” follows Zoro, played by graffiti legend Lee Quinones, as he weaves his way through the various hip hop, break dancing, and Bronx DJ scenes in early 1980s New York.

Wild Style captures some of the funky tensions of the time period. For instance, if you were a “successful” graffiti artist in the 1980s, you were, like your peers, probably working your ass off to get your name out there, but not necessarily your face because anonymity back then was definitely an asset. However, if you worked hard and were good at what you did, then you were also probably a hot commodity, sought after by the vultures of the art world, journalists, toys fucking with your shit, the cops, and the MTA. My favorite scene in the film is when Zoro and his friends arrive at a party in Manhattan populated by rich art patrons and the like; one character, Neil, says he runs a museum called “the Whitley” while Blondie’s Rapture is playing in the background; another guy in a suit misunderstands rap music as “rat” and asks Zoro if he works in the dark, how can he see what he’s painting? While this scene is more fiction than documentary, I love the way it posits everyone as a potential insider or outsider, depending on who wants what from whom in any given exchange.

Following the Q and A with Ahearn that night, I got the impression that there were still a lot of positive feelings and happy memories surrounding the project. The affective glow that emanated from the collective viewing and discussion of the film, coupled with a revived general interest in that particular cultural moment (ie. the short-lived Netflix original flop of a show The Get Down), stayed with me. I mean, to what extent is wildstyle —the term given to describe a particularly complex and difficult to decipher style of graffiti writing—part of my inheritance, my culture, its art history? Given graffiti’s ephemeral nature, I felt intrigued by the possibility of researching this form in its early years from the 1970s-80s. What I came to know and appreciate was, yes, the many works given to us by a generation of gifted writers, but also the work done by artists like Charlie Ahearn, Martha Cooper, Henry Chalfant, Martin Wong, among others. Without them, I’m not sure how we would remember those early days of the graffiti movement. So, for those wishing to go a little deeper down the rabbit hole, below is a brief survey of some of the landmark texts that document this vibrant period in Bronx history; it is by no means comprehensive—these just happen to be some of my current personal favorites . . .

“The bible of the street-art movement,” Subway Art was the first published book of its kind to document graffitti. Featuring full-color photographs by Martha Cooper and Henry Chalfant, the book contains many masterpieces by artists such as Blade, Lee, Seen, and more. A beautiful print collaboration between the two foremost photographers of the movement, you can really appreciate Cooper’s and Chalfant’s distinct approaches to shooting the trains. Also, if you’re as excited as I am for Chalfant’s upcoming exhibition at the Bronx Museum, Henry Chalfant: Art vs. Transit, 1977-1987 which opens later this year, now is as good a time as any to revisit this seminal work.

Style Wars, directed by Tony Silver and co-produced by Silver and photographer Henry Chalfant, released in 1983, is a classic—the documentary features many a baby-faced graffiti artist such as Dondi, Skeme, Kase 2, interviews with MTA officials, Mayor Ed Koch, various masterpieces, and more. If you want to know what these young writers were up against in terms of public opinion and the MTA, definitely start here. Plus . . . Skeme’s mom: God bless her, wow.

City as Canvas: New York City Graffiti from the Martin Wong Collection, edited by Sean Corcoran and Carlo McCormick, New York: Skira Rizzoli, 2013.

I had no idea that the artist Martin Wong was a known collector of graffiti art until I had come across this book, published in tandem with the Museum of the City of New York’s exhibition City as Canvas, and yes, I am very sorry I had not seen this show back in 2014 before I left New York. For those skeptical of graffiti’s transition from subway to canvas, this book really made me rethink my assumption that graffiti is graffiti because it lives on in the streets and on the trains but never in a gallery. In addition to color images of works on canvas, archival exhibition shots, and some recollections contextualizing Wong’s relationship to the graffiti community by artists Lee, Daze, and Charlie Ahearn, also featured are images of drawings from various artists’ blackbooks: gold.

Before there was wildstyle, there was tagging. Some cool shots of tags by Taki 168, Julio 204, Barbara 62, and even Basquiat, among others. Another great monograph by Martha Cooper, who in an interview said, “I shot tags because I wanted a record of them. . . mostly I just wanted to study what they looked like and to allow others to study them in the future. I was using my camera as a very efficient tool to make a record of something that would otherwise be lost.”

Classic Hits: New York’s Pioneering Subway Graffiti Writers by Alan Fleisher & Paul Iovino, Poland: Dokument Press, 2012.

Classic Hits features photographs by Alan Fleisher, Robert Browning, and Jack Stewart. Filled with an assortment of early masterpieces by writers such as Stay High 149, Blade, Super Kool 223, and others, alongside artists’ recollections. I like this book because it showcases an earlier generation of graffiti writers from the 1970s before things really got wild. Similar to Cooper’s Tag Town, I was able to gather from this one a more expanded appreciation for the evolution of the form.

Dondi White Style Master General: The Life of Graffiti Artist Dondi White, by Andrew “ZEPHYR” Witten and Michael White, New York: HarperCollins, 2001.

OK, so graffiti legend Dondi wasn’t born in the Bronx—he was definitely a Brooklyn writer. Nevertheless, his influence on the larger writing community was so profound, his relevance cannot be understated—it went to the Bronx and beyond. Includes black-and-white and color photographs, early sketches, never before seen collage works as well as works on canvas, and reminiscences by the artist’s friends. Unlike some of the other texts on this list, this one is unique insofar as it’s a book assembled by another well-known graffiti artist, ZEPHYR, alongside Dondi’s brother, Michael, so the insights and anecdotes presented here, especially those from Dondi’s closest friends, really provide a window onto the world of the artist. RIP Dondi, you gave us so much.

Annual drawing self-evaluation ~ 2017 edition

1. List of artworks published this last year:

It’s going to take me forever if I put up a link to each artwork I did in 2017 because basically 3 quarters of my artworks were made in that year ! OO So maybe around 250/300 of them or more (which while I’m typing this down sounds completely crazy...Oo wow...) Then again, I’ve been doing an artwork per day every week or so (not counting the weekends, so 5 a week) when 2017 started...Still sounds insane ! Oo lol

I can also add that 3 beautiful quarters (and a tad more) of my artworks are Malec ones ! I love my OTP...! <3

2. Work you are most proud of (and why):

I’m extremely proud of my baby right here :

I can’t quiet go into details to why I am so very proud of this one for certain reasons (You’ll all know soon ^^) but I can say this : I’ve put my heart and soul into making this poster. Certain sleepless nights went into the making of it too...! And I really like the vibe it gives off...! I think it’s the artwork that feels and fits the most into the actual Shadowhunters universe ? I just really like this one...It’s extremely rare that I look upon one of my artworks and feel immensely proud of it and not go and be highly critical of it... (I tend to do that a lot when it comes to my art...^^', bad habit of mine. I’m a perfectionist to the bone and I judge myself harshly most of the time...^^') I guess this could be a new 2018 resolution : be less harsh on myself and my art...!

If I could erase maybe like the 3 first monts of artworks I did then I’d be glad...^^' The proportions were awful and I wasn’t this detailed and precise in drawing as I am now...Also, the facial expressions were less raw and looked less “real”...It was all very new to me (even doing graphic artworks) but still, all those very first ones are cringeworthy in my eyes...I’m being harsh on myself here but really, if you go and dig up those dinosaurs you’ll see what I mean !

4. A favorite excerpt peek of your artworks:

*incoherent noises are heard in the distance...* I just LOVE this artwork to pieces as well...It’s the first colored artwork I did that I was proud off...They are at peace, in love, safe in each other’s arms...I also find the little glimmers on their faces really soothing in a way...It’s like the universe is embracing them...I just really adore this peek...<3

5. Share or describe a favorite comment you received:

I’m going to cheat on this one because it’s actually an emotion that you share with me in the comments or asks that I adore and would deem “my favorite”. It’s either when you go “jdjdhfgfgfgdhdjdkdkfhfgg” and then the tags attached to this or the following words in the comments are you telling me that you loved the artwork *hides away*...! OR (I think those are my favorite), when you shout at me “HOW DARE YOU??”, “WHO ASKED YOU?????”, “UNFOLLOWED, BLOCKED, UNSTANED!”. Lol , those make me giggle or literally just laugh out loud and blush like crazy...!(I love you all..<3333)

I’m not gonna lie, when I got into the fandom and I first saw those comments I swear I thought I had done something really wrong and bad...I took those words literally ? I didn’t know that it was a common way to show appreciation ? I was really thrown off and scared ! lol ^^' Now I’ve learned that it basically means that you liked the artwork and that it made you feel a lot of things ! Seriously, I’ve learned a whole new way of communication and expressing ones emotion when entering the fandom !

6. A time when writing drawing was really, really hard:

...Probably the beginning of May 2017 until maybe the middle of the summer ? Me coming back to Paris after my six months internship in London was a big blow in the gut to me..I didn’t take readapting to Paris well...It was hard...I also went into a bit of a depression, I think...But the summer vacation did a great deal of good ! I had time to relax and be at peace away from literally everything and the sea air and seeing my family all together was the best cure for me ! So all that spam of time was a bit hard in me being inspired and enjoying drawing. You can actually see it a bit if you are an old mutual/follower of mine ! The artworks are kinda very dense and a bit dark ?

But all that matters is that everything is good and well now ! Let’s keep the past in the past and move on with a smile !

7. A scene or character you wrote drew that surprised you:

...Like...??? I just...don’t know what happened ? What I was thinking of when I made “The Salt King” mini series...? This cracks a smile on my face when I stumble on it lol ^^' Ours salty, sassy kings being extra ! lol

8. How did you grow as a writer an artist this last year:

I grew a lot... I am more confident in myself and drawing with this medium (graphic artworks). I am also more detailed and since I am more confident I am now starting to challenge myself with new ways of making my art evolve ? I think that’s the biggest growth I did..To be more confident and at ease doing graphic artworks. Especially ones in the Shadowhunters universe.

9. How do you hope to grow next this year:

I wish I’ll be able to master a bit more the colored artworks (without deleting the ones in B&W, I’ll always do those ^^). I also would like to venture a bit more in drawing other characters then Malec. I won’t stop making them of course but I’d like to have fun doing other artworks that paint out different friendships and stories ? That would be a cool challenge ! ^^

10. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer an artist (could be another writer or fan artist or cheerleader or muse etc etc):

That would probably be the cast of Shadowhunters..! They portray those amazing characters on screen and they inspired me a whole lot. Especially Matthew Daddario and Harry Shum Jr...! Those too are one of the big reasons I joined this fandom. I fell in love with the characters they play (individually and as a couple). Also, they are both loving and caring souls..!

I can also add my big brother (who is himself an artist) who always is by my side giving me advice and teaching me new ways of drawing (like the little short cuts on your computer/photoshop ?) those are a great help to draw faster !

And also my lovely parabatai ( @magnusandalexander ) Anica who is always there for me when I need to vent out or talk or am stuck on an artwork ! Thank you for having my back Anica ! Love you !

And then all of you ! I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again and forever but you have all been a huge support for me ! It is because of your kindness and heartwarming words of love and encouragement that I am happy and hyped up to start a new artwork every single day !

So thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you...You have been a HUGE positive influence on me as an artist in this fandom...<3

11. Anything from your real life show up in your writing artworks this year:

Probably my attention to details ! I am an observer in real life. More of a *stays in a corner and observes the world and its surroundings* than someone who is talkative and interacting. I’m a bit of a dreamer and that’s how I am always careful with the details. They tell more stories than you’d think ! ;)

Then my love for blue Klein ! lol I love doing the colored artworks with those blue tints...!

12. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers fan artists:

I’m very bad at this...^^' But I’m going to say to never stop believing in yourself no matter what other people might think. Don’t stop what you love to do, your passion because of some negative comments on an artwork. Try and be on the higher ground and ignore the negative comments or if they are constructive ones then take it all in, take a break if need be and get back and do another artwork with the constructive comment in mind to progress.

Also, if you have a blank or have no inspiration. Don’t be scared, it’s not lost ! Just take a break, go out, take a stroll. Go and see friends, cook, just do something else entirely to forget about your artwork. When you are relaxed and feel that itch to have a pen or graphic tabled in you hand again then you are good to go ! <3 This usually works for me, I don’t know if it will for everyone though.. You need to find your own escape way to relax and be at ease !<3

13. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year:

YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES !

I can’t say a thing about it though...=p

I can just say that I call it “The BIG Thing” and it’s coming soon...!

Favourite song: Wow this is hard, I listen to alot of music but my taste seems to gravitate toward R&B/ Hip-Hop and sometimes Jazz/ Jazz-Hop. But I will always love Parachute by ELO featuring Gray (Original and Cool Summer Remix)

Grossest memory: My first time eating a Gusher in like second grade. That has scarred me for life, that gooey center made me not like anything that has a filling or a cream center.

Hogwarts house: Most quizzes said Hufflepuff so I’ll roll with that.

Tar One – En Chemin - Juskmosa S2E02

Il y a les morceaux qu’on écrit spontanément, il y a les morceaux qu’on écrit avec un thème en tête qui mature quelques temps et puis occasionnellement, on prend des restes et des ingrédients épars dans le frigo et on en fait un bon petit plat aussi bon qu’imprévu. C’est ce genre de morceau que voilà. Le premier couplet a été écrit pour passer le temps, il y a une dizaine d’année, depuis un bureau austère du FOREM lors d’une formation d’employé administratif que j’avais dû faire un peu sous pression parce que ça va un moment de jouer au rappeur hein ! Inspiré par mes douloureux trajets en bus matinaux. Mon Vietnam.

Le deuxième a été écrit quelques années plus tard dans le train. Pas le seul texte écrit dans ce noble moyen de transport mais j’ai un très faible pourcentage de réussite dans ces conditions, généralement je ponds quelques mesures pourries avant d’abandonner. Je me souviens bien de ce moment, je rejoignais Daex à Namur pour aller voir un chouette petit Live du Homie Furio et on avait bien chillé.

Le troisième couplet a été écrit vers la même période, dans l’avion alors qui m’amenait pour la deuxième fois au Sénégal pour aller vivre d’incroyables expériences musicales avec notamment des concerts à Kaolack et Dakar. Puis ces couplets ont dormi longuement dans mes cahiers de rimes jusqu’à ce que je remarque qu’ils étaient reliés par un même fil rouge. En plus, plus le moyen de transport monte en grade, plus la destination et les raisons d’y aller sont enthousiasmantes. Littéralement en chemin, symboliquement en chemin.

Après quelques essais infructueux, le texte est tombé un beau jour sur l’instru qui l’attendait : cette superbeté de mon poto Lucania. Première collab’ à voir le jour mais pas la dernière, pas mal de choses sont sur le feu ! Poto un peu lointain mais de longue date de Verviers exilé au Québec, beaucoup de références en commun. Beatmaker en cachette à l’époque, il est sorti du bois assez récemment et j’ai été subjugué par son talent quand il m’a envoyé quelques prods juste pour avoir mon avis. J’ai vite béni le ciel pour ce filon qui en tombe et on prépare de multiples lourdeurs. Et nous voilà donc des années après la première rime couchée avec un petit morceau inédit à déguster sans modération ! Peace y’all, donnez-lui de la visibilité, j’en ai bien besoin pour atteindre un max de paires d’oreilles et à très bientôt pour de nouveaux inédits !

En chemin

Réveil alarme qui ne sonne pas pour un départ en vacances

Dans mon sommeil j’anticipe sa sonnerie un peu à l’avance

Du mal à m’extirper du lit, encore plus à m’exprimer

Un semblant de satisfaction une fois la vessie vidée

Une certaine passivité, un peu moins mal au point

En recherchant mes idées en même temps que le shampoing

Pas de petit déj’ de champion mais une course contre la montre

La téléportation, là, ben je ne serais pas contre

Casque sur les oreilles, carte de bus plus un peu d’oseille

Ma sélection me sauve tout juste de l’ennui mortel

On s’encastre, on s’entasse, serrés comme des sardines

Des odeurs suspectes rester à l’abris

Vieux, gosses, peu de boss, étudiants, jeunes mamans, barlos

La présence de princesse empêche que ça ne soit atroce

Un sourire : je suis de bonne humeur, un décolleté : c’est la fête

En train de courir depuis une heure et j’arrive à mon arrêt
