Rango, 2011 (but the characters are Pokemon)

So basically, there's this Genesect, who's shiny and red and also tortured by Team Plasma so badly. Like in that one movie, he was the leader of his own pack but the other four died and he was left the only survivor, but the aftereffects of what he suffered were too great that he went insane and forgot how to fight, so Team Plasma just dumped him in a desert and left.

While trying to survive, the red Genesect meets a flattened Sandshrew, who has to "get to the other side" and speaks in riddles, but Red also gets some helpful advice from him, to find water, he must first find "Dirt", and just like that, he's sent on his way. But just when he's going tired from the heat, he gets attacked by Yveltal, who will be taking the place of the hawk, and narrowly escapes.

One nightmare later, he meets a female Scizor named Beans who, for some STRANGE reason, has the tendency to freeze mid-sentence, and rides with her to her town, which turns out to be the "Dirt" that the Sandshrew told him about, and is also suffering from a water shortage.

Red meets a young Sylveon named Priscilla, has that "funny-looking" exchange, stumbles into a saloon, where he drinks a lot of cactus juice and tells a lot of lies about himself, and that's where the legend of Rango is born! Just then Bad Bill (who's a Lucario) appears and sh!t goes down and Bill ends up challenging Rango to a duel.

Just when things were getting intriguing, Yveltal shows up again and scares off Bill and his goons, and the chase is on. As he's running, instincts from 3 billion years kick back in, and Rango fires a shot from his back cannon, which ends up knocking over the water tower and flattening Yveltal, killing it!

But, alas, Yveltal was the one thing keeping Psycho Jake (who's a Mewtwo), the desert's worst outlaw, out of town because a Mewtwo may be powerful, but he's still no match for a Legendary.

Anyhoo, Rango's taken to Mayor John (a Mega Charizard X) and made sheriff, promises to get the water back, and spends the night guarding the bank only to end up giving some bank robbers, a family of assorted Ground-type 'mons, a prospecting permit. The next morning, he wakes up, and learns that the bank's been robbed!

So Rango makes up a posse comprised of himself, Beans, Wounded Bird (a Pidgeot) and other Dirtonians, (Priscilla really wanted to go with her hero but ended up staying behind), whence they track down the robbers and have that standoff and that chase and then the truth comes to light.

After the posse comes back to town, Rango has a meeting with the Mayor and realizes what's happening and gives his "believe in that there sign" speech to the Dirtonians, only to be interrupted by a Mewtwo, who happens to be Psycho Jake, who exposes the so-called "hero" and drives him out of town.

While wandering aimlessly, Rango ends up fainting on a roadside and meets the Spirit Of The West (who's still Clint Eastwood) and remembers that side of him who's an apex predator and reunites with the Sandshrew and finds out where all the water went. He offers the Ground Gang a deal, comes back to town, challenges Jake to a duel, which ends up being a stalemate, buying time for the water to come back, and the "You ain't got the nerve." and "Try me" exchange happens, but alas, the Mayor's goons have Beans hostage!

And so Genesect and Scizor end up trapped in a slowly filling tank, while Mayor Mega Charizard X is about to kill the Mewtwo who'd been a faithful asset to him for many long years, but then Rango manages to break the glass in the nick of time and save everyone.

In the end, Jake recognizes Rango as a Worthy Opponent™ and personally drags the Mayor out of town for trying to kill him earlier, and so the Genesect completes his journey, from humble beginnings to the legend we sing of today. And although he's certain to die...from a household accident, which account for 65% of all unnatural deaths, the people of the village will always remember, the name of the one who saved them.

RANGOO! Showin' some love for this kickass western movie by drawing some of my favs. this movie is an absolute trip and for those who haven't watched it, I really recommend it. me and my bro are just talking about this movie nonstop. it's been like a whole week since I watched it. it's that good of a movie. IT'S TOO DAMN GOOD Y'ALL.

Rango characters as a Pokemon team!

Rango is a Kecleon (because chameleon)

Rattlesnake Jake is a Seviper because both use their tails as weapons, plus Sevipers are considered quite ruthless

Beans is a Larvitar because of her rough, down-to-earth nature

Little Sister is a Sableye because much like real aye-ayes, Sableyes are thought to evil or soul-stealing

Pappy/Balthazar is an Excadrill because of their shared tunneling prowess. *Still blind*

And Wounded Bird would be a Corviknight (both birds, skilled at tracking) *Still with pronounced limp*

It was so hard to pick out 6 given all of the great characters in Rango, so I may do another list of just townsfolk. Let me know if there's a Pokemon team you'd like to see my take on!

Rango OC drabble thing--

The people of Mud(Dirt) couldn't remember their name so decided to give them a nickname, they tried to call him one-eye (bc bro got shot in the eye by bad bill) but slink/gizhiinigig did NOT answer to that, ain't no way she's gonna be referred to by something like that--

Thankfully they caught on quick and thought of a different one-- Slink, sense they're stealthy and quick in the water, and they responded better to that name.

They'd still prefer to be called by their REAL name, but Slink works good, thankfully one person regularly calls them by his actual name--

Of course it's WB that calls her by their real name, but even after a lot of prying, they didn't find out WB's real name, this only makes Slink all the more curious, and all the more infatuated with him--

He must know more about him--
