Hey everyone, I’m just giving my Ko-Fi shop a bump!! I’m going to be moving out of my current apartment and into a new place starting July 1st, so I’ll be closing my online shop in advance! The closing time will be June 19th, since I’ll be basically afk for a few days to help my family celebrate my brother’s high school graduation too.

I can’t say when the shop will be re-opened after this; I’m currently trying to evaluate my current products and see if I can make adjustments to my current lineup and whatnot in order to make it more efficient. This could mean that I might discontinue some products and designs that aren’t selling well, and that I could move the shop to a new site altogether. It’s still on the drawing board, but I wanted to give a head’s up in advance that things might be changing moving forward this year.

So, I know you made a post about Martyn's comment about Grian having Stockholm Syndrome, but I feel like there's a lot of angst potential. Maybe something about Martyn and Skizzle trying to convince Grian to join them, but Grian refusing to even leave Scar's side of they kill him.

Martyn and Skizz are walking together through the forest, on their way to the desert to do some surveillance. They’re just walking up the hill near the edge of the forest when a random thought occurs to the latter. “Hey, what’s that thing where you, like, get close to your captor?”

“Huh? Oh, uh… Stockholm Syndrome, isn’t it?” Martyn responds.

“Yeah, that’s it. Stockholm Syndrome.”

“What made you think of it?”

Skizz shrugs. “I dunno, I was just thinking about Grian and why he doesn’t seem to be eager to leave Scar anymore.”

Martyn shoots him a sideways look. “You think he’s got Stockholm Syndrome? Huh. Honestly, I think you might have something there. I’ve known Grian for a long time and I know for a fact that hates people telling him what to do.”

“I really wanna save him, dude,” Skizz says. “I hate the idea of him having to slave away under Scar for even another day.”

“I do too,” agrees Martyn. “But I don’t think we can-.”

“My ears are burning,” comes a familiar voice.

The two look sharply up to find Grian himself sitting on a high branch in the tree directly in front of them, right at the top of the hill.

“Eavesdropping again?” Martyn demands. “How much did you hear?”

“Just something about slaving away under Scar. That’s how I knew you were talking about me. Not nice to talk about someone behind their back.”

Skizz and Martyn both frown. There’s something different about Grian today; he’s not his usual self. It’s worrying particularly to Martyn, who’s known him for a very long time.

“Grian, we need to talk to you,” says Martyn. “About Scar.”

“Uh huh.” Grian hops down from the tree and dusts off his hands. “You’re not gonna kill me, are you? Oh, no, wait: neither of you can. Martyn cuz you’re green and Skizz because you’re spineless.”

Skizz blanches. “Wh-What the hell?! That came out of left field!”

Martyn steps towards Grian, carefully making eye contact with his old friend. “Grian, this isn’t you. Scar’s red life energy is corrupting you, turning into something you’re not. It’s not healthy.”

“Healthy?” Grian tips his head on one side. “Huh. That’s one way of looking at it.”

Martyn pushes on: “We can help you leave him. Either we can take your first life or we can help you escape him.”

“We can keep you safe,” Skizz adds, pushing aside his hurt feelings over Grian’s prior comment. “If you’re worried about what he might do to you.”

“You think I wanna LEAVE?” Grian scoffs.

Martyn and Skizz exchange a look. “What do you mean?” asks the former slowly.

“Scar is my excuse to kill people,” Grian responds. “That goes away if I leave him.”

“Yeah, you’ve already killed at least five people, including me,” Skizz responds. “Are you really sure you wanna keep going?”

A grin slowly appears on Grian’s face as he grabs a block of TNT and lights it. “Let’s find out.”

“Skizz, move!” Martyn yells in a panic.

The two simultaneously spin round and take off running but the TNT quickly explodes behind them, the force sending them both tumbling off the top of the hill.

Martyn groans as he pushes himself up, his whole body aching from the rough landing. His left ankle, which he felt himself land heavily on, throbs. He glances warily around him and finds Skizz lying on his side a few blocks to his left, unconscious.

As Martyn crawls over to him to check on him, he spots a figure emerging from the trees. His breath catches in his throat as he registers Grian slowly and dangerously coming towards them, a flint and steel clearly in his hand.

“Grian, get away,” Martyn snaps, unable to hide the fearful shake in his voice. He moves awkwardly in front of Skizz, protecting him from Grian. “Get away from us.”

“Killing Skizzle will be delicious,” says Grian, grinning maliciously. “His last life. I wonder what it’ll feel like to take a red life? To know that the person I’ve killed will not respawn?”

“Don’t you dare!” growls Martyn. “Kill me if you want but don’t hurt him.”

“Martyn, Martyn, Martyn…” Grian shakes his head in mock disappointment. “You keep doing this. Every time you swear you don’t care about people, every time you swear you won’t get attached to anyone else, you do. Would you really sacrifice one of your lives for him, Martyn? Someone you’ve only known a few weeks?”

“Skizz has proven himself a generous and loyal ally,” Martyn replies steadily. “He’s shown himself to be perfectly willing to sacrifice his last life for us so I’m willing to sacrifice my first for him.”

Grian shrugs. “Okay, that can be arranged.”

As he steps closer, Martyn pushes himself to his feet, holding his left foot gingerly off the ground. “Please, Grian, don’t. You don’t have to let yourself get corrupted by Scar any longer.”

“Corrupted?” snorts Grian. “That’s cute.”

“Seriously, you’re suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. You don’t-.”

Grian laughs loudly, interrupting Martyn. “Stockholm Syndrome?! You really don’t get it, do you, Martyn? Scar is useless on his own. You think he would’ve been able to do HALF the damage I’ve done? If it weren’t for me, he’d have lost his red life about half an hour after his second. I’m the one keeping him alive; not because I care about him but because he’s my excuse to kill people as a green lifer. I have the highest body count on the whole server and I’m still green. Martyn…”

He moves closer to Martyn and grips his shoulder almost painfully, a terrifying smile on his face. “I’m the mastermind. Scar thinks he’s in charge and that’s what ties this whole arrangement together so neatly. Everyone focuses on Scar because he’s the red lifer and oh poor innocent Grian is stuck doing everything he says. Nobody EVER suspects that I’m anything more than just Scar’s puppet.”

“He’s yours,” says Martyn quietly. “Isn’t he? He’s just your puppet.”

“He is. But I can tell you’re trying to stall. Don’t worry, it’ll all be over soon.” Grian takes hold of Martyn’s other shoulder, trapping him on the spot. “But I don’t want to kill my old friend, no matter how much you beg me. Not yet, anyway.”

Before Martyn can react, Grian shoves him roughly aside. His ankle rolls again as he hits the ground, causing more pain to explode up his leg. “No!” he yells, as he spots Grian advancing on a semi-conscious Skizz. “Grian, don’t!”

Skizz tries to get away from Grian but the green lifer draws his sword and presses the point against his chest, forcing him to stay still. He stares into Grian’s eyes and sees nothing but evil in them. “Grian, please…! Please, don’t!”

“It’s either you or Martyn,” responds Grian. “You pick.”

Skizz meets Martyn’s gaze, and Martyn knows immediately what he’s going to say.

“O-Okay,” Skizz whispers, tipping his head back in defeat. “Kill me and leave Martyn alone.”

“NO!”

But as Grian raises his sword, a battle cry echoes through the trees and seconds later, three figures burst out of the forest: Ren, BigB, and Etho.

Grian scrambles back in shock as they charge towards him, before turning and fleeing back into the trees. BigB and Etho pursue him but Ren stays behind to drop down at Martyn’s side. “Thank god we got here in time! Are you two okay?”

“Apart from my ankle, I’m fine,” says Martyn, letting out a sigh of relief. “Skizz?”

“I-I think I’m okay,” Skizz responds, pressing his hand against his forehead. “But my head hurts.”

Martyn frowns sympathetically. “You were out for several minutes so you probably have a concussion.”

“Let’s get you two back to Dogwarts to rest,” says Ren kindly.

But just as Ren moves to help Martyn up, a notification flashes up on their communicators.

Ren lets out a low growl. “That’s it. Those filthy desert hippies have gone too far.”

“No, Ren,” Martyn says. “It’s not them; it’s just Grian. He’s the one who orchestrated all this. If you hadn’t turned up, he’d have killed both of us. He’s the real threat, not Scar. Not even Scott and Jimmy. They all do what Grian says; he’s got them all in his pocket. He’s…” He pauses, recalling Grian’s words with a shiver. “He’s the mastermind.”

Ren gazes at him for a moment. “Okay, it seems we have some things to discuss when we get back to Dogwarts. But for now, I need you two to head home while I help Etho and BigB.”

“Yes, boss,” says Martyn. “But I-I may need some help; I’m not sure if I can walk at the moment.”

Skizz sluggishly stands up and makes his way over to Martyn, whom he helps to his feet. He then lifts Martyn’s arm over his shoulder, supporting him. “I got you, buddy,” he says gently. “I got you.”

Martyn lets out another quiet sigh. He still can’t believe he and his friend are both alive and relatively unharmed, but he’s unspeakably grateful for it nonetheless.

hawks is more physically affectionate - he'll link their arms together, cuddle to enji's side in public, climb in his lap when they're home, hold his hand, initiate kisses more. but it's enji that people notice sending fond looks for his boyfriend so many times it becomes embarrassing - tabloids will have a whole article on endeavor's "heart eyes" ("my eyes are not hearts" enji frowns at the magazine in hawks' hands, who just shrugs and grins "seems like they are for me") so i would say, deep down the big man's a softie too

enji/hawks. unless enji has a nightmare, because in that case, hawks is more than happy to be his lil jetpack.

ah they fight about the most useless things but one of my favorites that must come up often is enji thinking that hawks deserves better than him, and hawks insisting that he's everything he ever wanted.

kicking villain ass and family dinners. hawks likes to eat, and enji likes to eat with his loved ones all in one place. he wonders why hawks gets along so well with his children, and then he realizes - he forgot (again) how insanely young hawks is, and that he's merely a few years older than his youngest son, too. ngl natsuo glares daggers at his old man for having a boyfriend half his age ahahaha

given that enji could swing hawks around like a yo-yo, i think it's him ADJGSGH

hawks likes everything about enji. he's really into his body, but also his dry sarcasm, his occasional goofy jokes, and most of all, his heart. hawks will watch enji kneel down to a couple of children at a battlefield, his own face and hands dripping with blood, grunt out "are you alright, kiddos? come here, i'll get you somewhere safe" and see him do exactly that, scoop the kids up in his arms and carry them on shaking legs that could barely keep himself up, and then he will see him let his eldest burn the world, his second eldest scream at his face, his youngest treat him like dirt and know that he still cares so deeply for them, know that he loves them and wants the best for them and if the best is torment their father until he dies or worse, he'll let them without so much as a complaint.

enji, on the other hand, loves how easily hawks can lift the mood. he's learned to see through facades, and he'll call him out if he senses that it's hurting hawks to put on a mask, but hawks joking around and mouthing off makes our atlas feel like the weight of the world is a little lighter that day. he loves him for how driven he is, how graceful and hard-working and focused he seems in a fight, and thinks about how those traits were most important to him in the past but now he can see hawks use them to create a world where they can rest, and he realizes... that's not so bad an idea after all.

7. What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?

enji speeds up the process of divorcing his wife lol. also he becomes more nervous around hawks, because shit, he likes him too, but he shouldn't be liked, why does hawks even like him? when hawks learns that enji likes him too, he gets shamelessly flirty. he doesn't make a move, of course - enji is still a married man, but he'll laugh at his nervousness, play with his own hair for enji's viewing pleasure and send suggestive winks his way like the damn tease he is.

8. Nicknames? & if so, how did they originate?

enji calling hawks birdie is pretty obvious. hawks alternates every petname imaginable for enji when he learns that he's never been called one (he figures it out when he jokingly calls him darling once and enji blushes to the roots of his hair), his favorite is "sweetheart" and "baby". enji also calls hawks his angel, but only when he's being very soft for him

i mean..... both? enji tends to worry more for hawks' safety and hawks worries more for the crushing guilt enji lives with.

hawks - claims he does, but the truth is, he says a different thing each time and enji's happy to try new things as long as hawks will beam at him proudly after ordering

depends. they both do. enji topped more at the beginning because hawks was really into it and he was kinda insecure about asking for anything else, but hawks once offered and found out that he has a delicious bottom bitch on his hands.

mirko is THRILLED that hawks is dating endeavor. the todoroki family, i mean.... shoto is confused, natsuo is mad, fuyumi and rei are both supportive and say they both want the best for enji. but mostly they just all think that he's really. Really young lol

hawks!!! he likes to dance around the kitchen while enji is cooking or doing the dishes, and sometimes manages to seduce enji into his arms too.

a/n: This is part 16. ngl, i procrastinated writing this until the very last second because i didn’t want the hurt to come. i liked living in this happy little bubble, but it must be done for the sake of plot. let me know what you think!!

You’ve never felt more anxious in your entire life. Not even when you were confessing to Guk how you felt just a little over a year ago. You have no earthly idea what could be going on. He reassured you that it was nothing you did or had nothing to do with the two of you, so that eased your mind a tiny bit, but not enough. Something was seriously wrong for him to be acting the way he was today. He’s never acted like this in the 17 years you’d known him.

You wait nervously in the living room for the front door to open because you need to see him as soon as he walks in. You don’t want wait for him to come up the stairs to your bedroom. Just seeing him would make you feel better. For some reason you had started to think you were losing him, so seeing him in front of you, physically able to reach out to him, will undoubtedly make you feel better.

He’s quick, just like he said he’d be. It only takes him 3 minutes from when he texted you for him to walk across the street to your house. He walks in with his head hanging and his eyes red from – well, you’re not sure what yet. You’re off the couch in an instant and he’s got a small smile forming on his face at the sight of you. He looks – relieved. He opens his arms and you move into them quickly. He wraps you up in a hug so tight, the scent of him enveloping you immediately, fresh and comforting, like clean linens.

“Hey, what’s been going on?” you say tenderly as you brush some of his hair out of his face. It’s clear now that the redness in his eyes is from crying. His eyes still appearing glassy, like he could start crying again any minute. “Let’s, uh, let’s go sit down, okay?” You nod at his words and he gives you a kiss on the top of your head before you’re both pulling apart to sit on the couch instead of standing in the doorway.

You both sit down and he reaches for your hands, a mournful look on his face. He lets out a shaky breath before he starts to speak. “It’s my mom. She’s sick again and it’s not good,” he says as tears threaten to roll down his cheek. “I was with her all day at her doctor’s appointment. It was rough, to say the least.” He finally looks up at you, his mouth in a thin line. “Oh, Guk. I’m so sorry. I know that doesn’t mean much, but still.” You remember the first time his mom was diagnosed with cancer, you were both in 5th grade. She went through grueling treatment for years and, ultimately, was told it went into remission, which was incredible.

You reach up to cup his face and he finally lets the tears fall. “She’s in stage four and they said the prognosis isn’t good. She doesn’t want to go through the chemo and radiation again. She said she doesn’t want to spend the rest of the time she has in a hospital day in and day out. I understand this, but what am I supposed to do, yn?” His voices is desperate when he asks you that question. His head is resting on your shoulder and his body is wracked with sobs. “You just be there for her, Guk. You give her your love. I’m sure that’s all she needs from you.” You rub his back in soothing circles as you say this.

The two of you stay like that for a little while. Just in silence, letting him cry and validating his feelings. You know that you’ll never know exactly what he must be feeling, but you know that you’ll be there for him as much as he needs. He doesn’t need a quick fix or blind optimism, what he needs from you is to just be with him, in the moment.

Eventually, he’s able to calm down a bit. You’ve brought him a cup of hot cocoa and have Netflix on in the background. He takes a deep breath before speaking again, “I’m going to have to help a lot around the house now. Like, way more than before. Even go to her appointments with her if my dad can’t.” You’re nodding in understanding. “I’m- I’m not sure how much time I’ll have for- for us?” Your heart drops the second those words come out of his mouth. Realization of what he’s talking about hitting you like a ton of bricks. You give a slow nod, “I understand if this is too much right now.” He looks like he’s going to start crying again. “But I don’t want to lose you. I love you so much and the last thing I want to do is break up with you. I’m just- it’s all so overwhelming and I want to spend as much time as I can with her. I probably won’t even play soccer this year.”

Tears are starting to well up in your eyes too. You completely understand and would never want to take away from any time left he may have with his mom. You want him to be able to do whatever he needs during this time without the worry of you being neglected as his girlfriend. However, that doesn’t mean you aren’t sad. Guk has been your whole world for as long as you can remember and even more so in the past year. You’ve never had to live in a world that didn’t include him by your side at practically all hours of the day. Even before the too of you were dating, you were inseparable. Always wanting to play together, run errands together, support each other in your hobbies and activities, studying together, everything. This would certainly be an adjustment for you, but nothing compared to the adjustment him and his family will have to make.

“Please don’t be upset,” he says to you with a worried look on his face. Your eyes are still watery but you give him a sweet smile, “I just love you, is all. I understand, I’ll just miss you. I’m not mad or anything.” He pulls you into him, “I’m not going anywhere, though. I’ll always be your friend, just across the street from you.” He’s brushing his hand through your hair as he speaks to you softly.

This feels wrong, you should be the one comforting him, not the other way around. You clear your throat, wipe your eyes, sit up, and put your best brave face on. “We’ll be okay. Best friends first, always. I want you to be able to spend as much time with her as you want, so don’t worry about me. And I’ll be here if you ever need anything, seriously. If you or your dad can’t make it for something, call me.” You can see in his eyes how grateful he is. He feels so lucky to have you in his life. Really doesn’t know what he’d do without you. You were always so supportive, willing to give to others without anything in return, it had always been in your nature. What he doesn’t know is that it was only for him. You would do practically anything for him.

There’s a moment of silence between the two of you and it feels like the end. Realistically you know this isn’t goodbye, not forever, but you know you’ll see a lot less of him, and the Guk you will see won’t be the same. This will change him – has already changed him, but regardless of any of those things, you privately vow to be by his side so long as he wants you there.

The two of you spend another hour or so watching tv and snuggling on the couch before he starts to feel guilty for even being away from his mom for that long. “I should really get going,” he says to you and you get it, you really do. Can see the worry in his eyes. “Okay, I’ll walk you to the door.” He grabs your hand has he gets up from the couch and then he holds you tightly against him as he stands in front of the door. “I love you, Gukkie,” you say to him in a soft voice, just above a whisper. “I love you too,” he says into your hair as he plants a kiss on the top of your head.

Then without looking at you again, because it would be way too hard for him, he walks out the door. You watch him walk across the street to his house as tears start to flow. Again, you know this isn’t goodbye, but it sure does feel like you won’t be seeing him again.

The rest of the night is you feeling sad for a multitude of reasons. You’re sad for your relationship because you were sure he was the one. Still pretty sure he is, and the thought of not being with him is soul crushing. But more so than anything else you’re sad for Guk because he’s going to lose his mom and possibly himself in the process.

You don’t hear from him for the rest of the night, which you expected, but it still left an emptiness inside of you. You cry yourself to the sleep that night, ignoring your parents’ attempts to get you to eat dinner or come out of your room. The sleep is awful, thoughts of what the Jeon family must be going through, running through your mind. You’re glad it’s the weekend now because you don’t think you’d be able to function at school. You can’t even imagine how Guk must be feeling if this is how it’s affecting you. You wished you could be as strong as him. You didn’t know how he did it, but he sure was an incredible son. An incredible person.

As the morning sunlight begins to creep through your curtains, you finally manage to fall into a deep sleep, no doubt from exhaustion, both physical and emotional. You’re grateful for the few hours of sleep you’re able to get, but you know that when you wake up, everything will be completely different and you’ll have to learn how to go through life in a way you’ve never had to before.
