Andrias relishes in Marcy's fear and anguish so much.

This kid is seeing her life come apart in front of her eyes and he taunts her. He rubs on her face just how stupid she was. He exposes her to her friends for no reason other than to cause her more grief. This little girl, the first person in 1000 years to love him, is crying on the floor and he enjoys it. We learn in S3 that he cared about Marcy in some way - he asked the Core to spare her, and he didn't derive any pleasure in torturing her. You may think that's inconsistent with his characterization in True Colors, as he's seen tormenting her, humilliating her, killing her without an ounce of remorse.

That's because he's not being rational. Killing Marcy didn't benefit him, because Anne (his main target) already had a foot on the portal, and wounding her like that only put the Core's beloved host at risk. No, Andrias wasn't thinking. He was just hateful. He was vegenful.

"Now look at what you've made me do"

Not only does he blame her for the brutality he puts her through, he's punishing her. Putting her in her place. He punishes her because she reminds him of Leif, because this pathetic, stupid little girl had the gall to love him. She had the gall to worm her way into his old heart. Like a father taking his anger out on his child, Andrias enacts revenge against Leif through Marcy. Just like he'd previously tried with Sprig.

Andrias is a deeply sadistic person. None of this was part of any plan. Torturing Marcy like this doesn't serve anyone. He does it because he enjoys it, because he derives pleasure from hurting Leif Marcy. And because he resented her for being his friend. He does not have friends. He doesn't need personal connections. He doesn't need love. All he needs is the Core, and Marcy's friendship was a mockery of his commitment to the ghosts of his ancestors. Oh, he'd show this sad little child. This is what you get for daring to trust me. Never try that again.

He may regret what he did and he does have a limit - handing over Marcy's body to the Core didn't bring him any pleasure. All the steps leading up to that, though? Oh, he rejoiced in her suffering. And by the time he felt he was going to far, well, he was here now. He wasn't going to back down after a thousand years of waiting. Marcy wasn't worth that much.

In todays episode we dissect Marci in 'What was missing' and 'Obsidian'

Marci in 'What was missing' took an intentionally similar stance and pose to remind PB of the breakup after PB hurt her. The camera angle is a worms eye view, giving a sense of power to Marci.

However shortly into the song, 'Im just your problem' Marci begins to lament on what is wrong with her, clearly showing remorse. The she slowly floats to the ground, the camera panning with her. Till we meet her eye level. Her vulnerability and honesty opening the door.

juxtaposed to Obsidian, where she floats to the ground but the angle stays at a worms eye view. Still keeping the power on her. Her anger literally locks the problem away.

he has a long-term fixation on the tv show cheers, in ‘simon and marcy’ he uses the theme song to help ground himself. he seems to find comfort in the show *because* of its mundanity, which helps him cope with the sudden changes that have been thrust upon him. adding onto this, he’s shown to demonstrate routine behavior in fionna and cake via listening to the theme song while he’s getting ready in the morning. he also tends to go on tangents -usually about archaeology which could also be read as a special interest- seemingly without registering whether anyone around him is actually listening. also disregarding the mushroom war and the crown, i’d say the struggle to communicate on both ends was one of the biggest cracks in his and betty’s relationship. canon focuses more on the communication deficits on his end, those being that he didn’t seem to discern that betty was putting her life on hold for his sake (episodes 9 and 10 of fionna and cake sort of paint him as being at fault for that which i disagree with because it just read like nonverbal social cues going over his head to me but whatever) i also strongly believe that betty is neurodivergent in some way as well but that’s a whole other can of worms
