Day 15 // "Puppet Dance Duo"

Okay so there's my Retelling, Puppet Dance! Basically Worldless but more steampunk-esque, and some of the starfolks have animal traits. Edda's a tasmanian devil while Aven's a thylacine. You can read all the current chapters here.

There's also Dark Spear, which is basically the same as canon except Aven's the same species as Lightning Nightmare... but a dark variant of them! He's the last of his kind though.

Then there's Underdogs AU, which is basically "What if the Duo failed at stopping Worldless?" The duo (Edda and Aven) ends up dying during the fight with Worldless, resetting the universe. The war continues to rage on...

However, Aodh, a Shadow Legs, accidentally transcends with Edel, a fairy. Together, they take down opponents and finally kill Worldless... AKA an alternate duo!

And now there's Tunglsöng, which is basically "Edda gets forcefully turned into this deer wolf-critter in order to restore a fantasy world from this corruption that's turning to gods into monsters"-

Oooh!! The alternate duo idea piques my interest!

I'm also interested in the steampunk theme of Puppet Dance! AU. I've already seen the duo and I think they're pretty neat :D

You seem to really like creatures and critters that in my mind that's like your trademark at this point /pos

Angeltober Day 7: Smite

Today I learnt that “smite” means “To hit with a heavy object,” so what better way to draw this prompt than to draw Edda with her axe! Specifically, my Puppet Dance! Edda being all cool and stuff!

… I realized that this is the very first art I’ve drawn of any Puppet Dance! Character-

Finally… I gave the Puppet Dance! Duo proper designs-

I attempted to give Aven fancy stripes that are faintly visible against the rump patch but… it didn’t really work out… Also he has some little Diamond stripes too!

Also @frontalheadpart1 I am sorry but I decided against giving her… boobs, so to make up for it, she have fluffy chest floof… Yeah I may be a bit too obsessed with marsupials-

Also silly fun fact about Puppet Dance! Summum:

It has feathers. Specifically, feathered wings, a crest instead of spines and feathers along its back, neck and chest.

@themissinglynx here's my duo!

The AU they're from is called Puppet Dance, and its basically a steampunk-inspired AU that still sticks pretty close to canon in terms of events and stuff!

Edda's based on a tasmanian devil. She's somewhat mischievous but is extremely curious about everything, plus she tends to be really feisty at times. She also may get the case of the zoomies from time to time. She dearly loves Aven (Platonic) and will defend him with her life, as he's the only starfolk who doesn't try to attack or hurt her.

Aven's based on a thylacine. He's really shy and skittish about everything, but is quite chill once he warms up to someone. He will be loafing while Edda is playfighting with something /SILLY. Anyways, Aven trusts Edda and considers her his very first true friend, as he had a really, REALLY rough childhood.

They basically only have each other (And Old One but eh), and they're the best of friends!

Light starfolks could actually touch water, and may even swim! Edda just hate being wet.

... @many-faced, as well as @sqarletsworldlesswandering and @mystic-131, I am sorry but I think my weird feelings and brain is attempting to force me to make my take on a Worldless retelling-

I mean... it's about time... I'm the only one who doesn't have one as yet. Trying to figure it out since I don't want this to be like my general headcanons for the game/ canon versions of everyone-

AKA Late night sleepiness + Weird sadness that decided to stay + Brain disliking change = AU Inspiration apparently?!?

Mind rambling about the Puppet Dance AU?

(I don't have anything specific in mind, so I guess some trivia would be nice?)

Hmmmm...

All hunters (Going to be calling the duo's species that) have animal traits, usually tails, horns, ears and legs. There tend to be no specific pattern for traits besides genetics, but oddly enough, dark starfolks tend to have more prey animal-based traits than light starfolks.

In fact, Aven is the only hunter who has predatory animal traits in his family. No one knows where the thylacine traits came from-

Edda LOVES playfighting. She used to do it with her siblings as a young protostar, and she still loves to playfight with Aven.

Yep, Edda has siblings, three of them in fact. She's the youngest one.

She also screeches. A lot. Especially when scared or angry... or just when she wants to-

Aven also screeches, but this usually happens when he's scared.

Angel has Eohippus hooves and tail. Yes she's based on early horse-

Gris has a bat (Not animal. Weapon/ sports equipment). No one knows where she got it but she can, shall and WILL use it to fight-

Likewise, she actually joins the duo in their shenanigans.

There's a railway system joining all the Realms, save for Summum's realm and the sparring room.

There's also a lot of automatons

The starfolks used to have a thriving civilization, but Worldless basically made almost everyone go berserk with the polarity thing.

They got scared of the prospect of Starfolks overthrowing Them.

Neutrals existed alongside starfolks, but they almost got wiped out from the conflict.

Edda will also bite someone, if given the chance.

Aven is slightly older than Edda.

In fact, Edda is considered a whelp, basically she's almost an adult, but not quite there as yet.

She's also stunted due to competition from her Siblings. She's around 4'9, while most light Hunters are 6'0 at this age.

Aven is regular height at 5'10, he is also the only child in his family.

So, does Puppet Dance still take place in a steampunk esk' world? If that's the case, the Starfolk must have a decent level of intelligence, and yet they're still at odds with each other.

With that being said, are the Starfolk of Puppet Dance mindless, or are they sentient but blinded by TOFA's influence?

Yep! In a similar vein to @sqarletsworldlesswandering’s Eclipsed, Starfolks and Neutrals were initially a peaceful society…

Until TOFA felt a bit threatened by Their creations… so they basically blinded most Starfolks into attacking the opposite polarity-

However… some starfolks managed to break out of it early-
