hello ! idk what the "consensus" is per se, but i believe that leading up to the fire, rich's squip was trying to talk him into the same world domination plot that jeremy's was. (at somepoint i think at the end of the party there was a scene where rich talked to his squip ? but i think it was cut.) i don't think that this was because jeremy's squip was faulty or whatever, i actually think that jeremy being squipped before everyone else was, like, part of rich's squip trying to be like look, it really does help other people ! you should want this ! like how jenna gets squipped during pitiful children

so yeah i do think it was in its own way a kind of suicide attempt to murder the squip, but also i think rich was considering jeremy in particular as collateral damage- he does also have a squip. i don't really remember if he mentions in show that his squip wanted to take over the world ? but either way, he might not be sure whether it's just that his squip is defective or that jeremy's squip would be similarly evil

Can someone, in gentle terms, explain to me what the fandom thinks of Rich and the fire? Bc I don’t interact with the source material enough to form my own theory and I’ve been seeing contradicting views recently and I need to know how to write my Rich angst correctly
