10 facts about me

I was tagged by @oh-my-drake, @gaucheychick and @solarsystemus 

1. I'm 26. Old school. The last time I was around and active in fandom, it was on LJ and I lived through the Great LJ Strikethrough of 2007. Just imagine waking up one day and all of your favourite mutuals have been deleted, with all of their content (the fics! the arts!) gone for good. Dark days. 

2. I'm a professional actor. Once I accepted a role because Peter Hambleton (aka Gloin from The Hobbit) was in the cast and I'm a huge LOTR nerd. We're now friends in real life. (I'm actually seeing him today.) He doesn't know I'm a LOTR fan. He doesn't know I follow his tag on tumblr.

3. I've lived through a natural disaster. I was smack bang in the centre of town for the Christchurch earthquake (and, well, the subsequent 10,000 quakes). It was actually my birthday. The building I was in caught on fire. The buildings all around me collapsed. A bus full of people was crushed just a few metres away from me. My family home was destroyed. I lived within an army/police zone for months. I'm still weird about tall buildings.

4. I got into Uncharted through my ex. He worked days and I worked nights, so he'd play games until I got home from work. One day I got home early and he was playing Uncharted, and I watched him play and got hooked. After a while, I wouldn't let him play it without me there because I loved it so much (which, he angrily insisted, entirely defeated the purpose, which was to entertain him while I wasn't there.) He ended up starting at the beginning and we played it together the whole way through. We broke up just a few months before A Thief's End came out, and even though it was my decision to end the relationship, I wish we could have played it through together. He shipped Nate/Elena harder than I do.

5. I heavily self-harmed as a teenager and I've had to live with the stupid scars ever since. (On that note, if anyone needs help quitting, let me know, and I can tell you what I did. It's hard but it's possible. Clean for over a decade.)

6. My parents are both published novelists. Yes, the pressure is real.

7. I have a phobia of whales but I love, love, LOVE swimming in the sea. Yes, the cognitive dissonance is real.

8. I've just started learning Arabic and it's great.

9. I've taken a lot of recreational drugs. Weed, ecstasy/MDMA, NOS, ritalin, LSD, salvia, BZP, morphine, poppers, cocaine, speed, valium... probably more that I've forgotten. Often mixed them together. They never did what I wanted them to do, which I realise now was manufacture happiness. Now I’m a solid red-wine-with-dinner kinda gal. 

10. I'm two followers away from 100 and I'm lowkey excited.

10 facts about me

1.) 17 and stressed as hell as fucking always, but yet again that’s the life of every student in this dumbass world.

2.) I have a burning eternal love for video games, most notably, Uncharted, The Last Of Us, Final Fantasy(those I’ve acc played)and Bravely Default.

3.) Following on from the last point, I fucking love arcades and shit and I can spend days playing away on old school arcade machines and I can quickly adapt it as a new way of life if life in general doesn’t keep getting in the way all the time… Overall, old school arcade machines are basically my aesthetic 💖

4.) One thing at the top of my bucketlist is getting a motorbike. Like fuck career goals THIS IS GOALS FFS.

5.) I have an insect phobia(of all classes)- Entomophobia. Like I can’t control myself when I see any insect… But I’m getting better! I no longer fear those little pale annoying ones… I’d embed a link to a picture of what I’m talking about but I’d rather fucking no see one rn thank you very much.

6.) I can speak English and French Creole(or broken French) but I can only understand spoken Hindi and Urdu and written French. Currently studying French and I dream to be fluent in both French and Japanese one day🙂

7.) I’m Mauritian, which explains why I can speak French Creole.

8.) Nathan Drake is my one and only bae and no one can convince me otherwise💖💖💖💖💖💖

9.) Just like @world-soheavy I have no definable talent to share with my fandom communities, so I’m pretty much useless, huh?😆
