Pero pinaghirapan nila 'yan. I witnessed 'yong tears, heartbreaks, and blood (period lol) nila especially nung naging dormmates na kami. Although, mauuna silang ga-graduate, i felt like i also reached my goals, kasi sila talaga ever since naging standard ng mga pinagagawa ko sa arki. Actually, ngayon ko lang rin narealize lol. But yeah, I am and will always be proud of them.

I also want to confess something-- a realization that I had during my "gap year". Ayaw na ayaw ko talaga magstop ng pag-aaral. Talagang pinupush at kino-convince ko 'yong doctor ko na kung pwede na pumasok. Sabi ko na kahit 1 month akong absent, basta sasabay ako sa kanila. Before my confinement, and during 'nong 4 month long sembreak, I already had plans set in mind. And the plan that I'm most sure is I want to spend my last years in college with them. A part of me will always regret that I had a break from school. Even the moment na isusubmit ko na 'yung drop forms and med cert that will finalize everything, ayoko siya ibigay. Gusto ko tumakas. Siguro kasi they are always my comfort zone. Kailangan ko na ng jowa lol.

Parang nag-abroad lang ako ng 1 year char. After a year, sabi ko ready na ako. Babalik ako sa block. Kaya ayun, ini-scam ko sila HAHAHA. Magkakadorm pa naman kami non ah. Maaga talaga ako nagising, para ma-ISSA PRANK ko sila. I just realized that's the most genius thing that I did in college hahaha. I waited sa CS Hall, mga 1 hour. Hintay ulit. Pero naalala ko, yep si Hannah. Matagal talaga hahahaha. Tae, wala pa sila, nagpapasukan na sa classroom 'yong AR 301 pa non. Then bigla silang dumating--with their baffled faces while I enter the CS 304 room with them. HAHAHA

How Social Media Alters the Way We Speak

As time continues to move forward, governments change, cities growing, so do people’s behaviors change. The way we live, the decisions we make, our way of communicating are all influenced by how we are shaped by the world around us. The way we speak tells a lot about how times are changing and with it comes the evolving of languages. From Shakespeare’s most notable sonnets, Virgilio S. Almario’s Ibong Adarna to modern day poets like Lang Leav and Juan Miguel Severo, you can definitely point out the astounding difference even with eyes closed. So now that we are in the 21st century where smart technology is all the rage and humans frequent the vast and bodiless realm on the internet called social media the question is, how does social media influence the way we speak?

The Power of Social Media

It’s a no-brainer at this point to say that social media is almost part of everyone’s daily routine. From the moment of waking up in the morning, to riding the morning jeep on the way to work or school, and even up until before going to bed, modern day people are on their phones scrolling through the endless pit of social networking sites namely Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, Tiktok, and many more. Technology has advanced to a point where information dissemination comes and goes before you can even finish snapping your fingers and so as more people spend time online on these areas of the internet, it is highly likely that social media has the most prevalent influence on our day-to-day conversations.

If you think about it, the rapid exchange of information would allow people to adopt new words faster than ever. One example of this is this new Filipino expression “Sana all” that is used as a compliment that connotes positive jealousy towards someone having something everyone would also like to have or to experience. No one knows exactly where this phrase came from or who started it but it has been used by a lot of people at some point and has been used much enough to be an actual expression and it has also undergone its own changes. From the regular “Sana all” turned into “Sana oil” as a joke, it has shortened versions like “Sanaol” and “Naol” and then finally another one which is not as popular as the ones mentioned and that is “Sabaok” which also started out as a joke because some netizens make typo errors attempting to type “sanaol”. It is basically a misspelled version used as a joke. It’s safe to say it’s a bit confusing to try and comprehend how a word or phrase comes to existence and go through many different changes, with some even getting lost in translation at that.

This is Only Just the Beginning

This way of speaking can be considered as “technospeak” which is a term coined by honorary professor of linguistics at the University of Bangor, Professor David Crystal. In his book Language and the Internet he says that

“The Internet is in fact enabling a dramatic expansion to take place in the range and variety of language, and is providing unprecedented opportunities for personal creativity. The Internet has now been around long enough for us to ‘take a view’ about the way in which it is being shaped by and is shaping language.”

He also notes that

“The readiness with which people do adapt language to meet the needs of new situations, which is at the heart of linguistic evolution is going to be fully exploited in the next few decades, with the emergence of yet more sophisticated forms of digitally mediated communication.”

Regular expressions and acronyms like LOL for "laugh out loud”, keyboard smashing as a way to imply that one is laughing so hard they can’t type well, and expressions like “Sana all” are just the start of the gradual domination of technospeak. As social media and technology continues to move forward and advance, expect that there will surely be more language-altering shifts to occur in the near future. It makes one think just how are we going to keep up?

Summary:

990 years after the Mass Vision Extinction Event, the citizens of Teyvat had to fend for themselves as the monsters started getting more aggresive, gradually the monsters had grew ten times in size and humanity had found itself in the face of a new predator.

All nations had decided to merge together to create one, single nation called Lunaria.

To fend off these newly evolved monsters, the citizens had built seven layers of defense systems, each named after the former nations.

The forces of each nation had also banded together to create an army capable of fighting back these monsters and discovering their weaknesses.

What is the Mass Vision Extinction Event?

The Mass Vision Extinction Event (MVEE) is the tragic event which followed every single vision user in teyvat to be harmful towards another, although not displaying any aggresive behaviour towards people with no vision at all, it's believed that one day, a vision user had discovered the truth of Teyvat and was shocked about the truth and ended up telling other vision users of the truth, leading them into an all-time war. Other people have their own depictions of this, as the events that happened during the MVEE is still unclear.

Lunaria map:

Lunaria Order is basically the army of lunaria, fending off monsters and the sort. They're split into 5 Orders, each one having different jobs.

-Logistics

usually does the planning and research on the mobs

-Supplier

creates and resupplies the army weapons, food, etc.

-Medical

self explanatory, heals the wounded and five to ten of them would go with the offense team for backup

-Defense

stays inside to strengthen the defense system and evacuate citizens if necessary

-Offense

the most risky one, offense teams go explore the outside world for missions and defend people from monsters in hand in hand combat

Other Groups: -Lunarian Brigade

A group that maintain peace and order within the system, they also are in charge of handling injustice and judging the wrongdoers in court. They also serve as direct servants of the National Administration Of Lunaria. Higher authority than the Order.

-National Administration Of Lunaria (NAOL)

The government basically, every decade a new leader will be voted and rule the nation under their orders, basically politics and all of that stuff. The one that has the most authority over the Brigade and the Order

Uniforms

When joining the Lunaria Order, trainees must undergo training for 2 years, when deemed not acceptable, you will not be selected.
