Hi,
We’re ramping up a new program at the Urban League of Portland called the Urban Tech Jobs Program! The Urban Tech Jobs Program is funded through a Department of Labor grant focused on getting long-term unemployed & underemployed individuals training & jobs in the tech industry.  We’re currently recruiting for program participants and will be accepting applications through February 7th.
Support available to Urban Tech Jobs Program participants:
Urban League will provide job readiness & resiliency training as well as one-on-one career coaching
Program participants will have access to needs-based support, funds for technical training and certification, and connections to tech employers
Urban League will provide 100% of payment for program participants during on-the-job training
Following the on-the-job training, the goal is to connect candidates with long-term employment in the tech industry. More information on the program is available here: https://ulpdx.org/programs/workforceprogram/urban-tech-jobs/. I would really appreciate it if you’d spread the word to anyone you work with that you think might be eligible / interested in the program! We’re having an open information session on January 31st at 2pm at the Urban League of Portland office (10 N Russell St) for anyone who wants to learn more.
Eligible participants must be at least 18 years of age, long-term unemployed or underemployed (lost full time job over 27 weeks ago), and hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
I’m happy to chat more if you have any questions – thanks for sharing!
