Hey, my work health insurance covers preventive rabies vaccines now! This is cool because they’re expensive and would make it safer for me to do my job. I’m not currently working with wildlife and I’m in an area with good rabies vaccine coverage for domestic animals, but still. Cool.

cripes, I did nothing at all this weekend except sleep for TWELVE HOURS at a time, eat, and mainline genre fiction alone in my room. maybe a little bit of fall cleaning. I haven't collapsed this hard in years. mildly dreading going back to work, assuming teaching is what tired me out so much mentally. I was recently asked to help support two new hires (one a new grad and one who got thrown into a department she’s not familiar with) as well as do all the training for someone completely new to the field. suddenly people are following me around and asking for my help. it’s…a lot.
